[00:00:00] Happy Lulli Mitri Season 3 Episode 9, Alex and Season 3 Episode 10, 2 Ava 2 Fest are over!

[00:00:25] But what's up fam?

[00:00:26] It's me, Chappelle back with another edition of Recap Kickback.

[00:00:30] The principle of this podcast, it's Geo worthy.

[00:00:33] Geo, what's happening?

[00:00:35] Oh my god, Chappelle, I just got back from 2 Ava 2 Fest and let me tell you, it was incredible.

[00:00:44] You know, little drama happening but as to be expected.

[00:00:47] But I am so glad to finally be back.

[00:00:51] It feels like it's been forever since we got to record anything together.

[00:00:55] But what a perfect time to do this before I have to work again.

[00:01:00] They keep making me go back.

[00:01:02] So ghetto, so ghetto, so rigid.

[00:01:05] Very ghetto behavior.

[00:01:06] Zero stars do not recommend.

[00:01:08] Yeah, so yeah, we're back.

[00:01:10] It's been a while.

[00:01:12] Abbott took a hiatus meaning we took a hiatus and since we record on every other week,

[00:01:16] this is the time.

[00:01:17] So hopefully you all have been kicking it with us on Recap Kickback.

[00:01:21] You've been checking out all the other content.

[00:01:22] Of course, if you are just here for the Abbott recaps, here we are.

[00:01:25] We're talking about season three, episode nine and 10 as we approach what will be the finale

[00:01:31] of Abbott Elementary in just a few episodes.

[00:01:33] So this podcast is coming out a little late.

[00:01:35] There are two more episodes that have already been released and then another one on the

[00:01:38] way I believe the season ultimately will end with 14 episodes as of May 22nd.

[00:01:44] So we got a little like the downside of Abbott.

[00:01:48] You know what I'm saying?

[00:01:49] Up the hill.

[00:01:50] Now it's going down toward the end of the season and we're going to prep for what will be season

[00:01:54] four as we know the show is already renewed and it's to be announced at this time.

[00:01:59] So we got to wrap up what we have going on here.

[00:02:03] And so I'm looking right now, we're getting a ton of five star views, a ton of great comments.

[00:02:08] Thanks you all for listening and joining us every week, but we got some stuff to

[00:02:12] break down here.

[00:02:13] So Abbott to me, they found their stride a while back.

[00:02:18] Season three has been very rich, very wealthy, very shiny.

[00:02:21] It's been very fun, but we haven't gotten a lot of Janine with the primary Abbott crew.

[00:02:26] She's been in and out because we know she's taking a job at the district.

[00:02:29] And over the course of these two episodes, we will see what ultimately will end in

[00:02:33] Janine coming back to Abbott Elementary.

[00:02:36] Gia, were you surprised at all by this or was it just a matter of time for you?

[00:02:41] I was a little worried as we got closer to it, but I was still remaining hopeful that

[00:02:45] Janine would return back to Abbott and a spoiler alert for episode 10 to Ava to best.

[00:02:53] But she does ultimately decide to go back to Abbott and, you know, career

[00:03:00] move wise, was that the best decision?

[00:03:02] Probably not.

[00:03:03] But like for us watching a show following the plot, it's the best when

[00:03:10] everybody is together.

[00:03:12] Because I think I like the district storyline, but I'm glad it is temporary, you know,

[00:03:18] like it gives us something a little different.

[00:03:21] We got to meet some new characters.

[00:03:23] But I think that the other storylines that we have seen that are more centered

[00:03:28] around the school, like the charter school versus public school ones

[00:03:31] for last semester were a little more up my alley, kind of like what I

[00:03:36] prefer for this, for like the storylines of the season.

[00:03:42] So I'm glad that we got a conclusion to it and now we can move forward with

[00:03:47] some of these other characters.

[00:03:49] Yeah, so we are going to say goodbye, I think, to some of the characters from

[00:03:54] the district. We know that Janine is leaving the district.

[00:03:57] So we probably won't see the district offices much.

[00:03:59] But there's a good time, I guess, to say goodbye to some of the people who

[00:04:02] we've come to know as the people at the district.

[00:04:06] We have Manny, who for a second deal, we talked about this, it did feel like

[00:04:11] they were maybe pushing a love interest storyline for Manny.

[00:04:16] This leads me to believe that no, I think this is the end of Manny.

[00:04:18] Do you think we're going to see anybody from the district ever again?

[00:04:21] Or is this the end of them all together?

[00:04:25] So I think that just I mean, I know the answer to this because I saw

[00:04:29] the episode 11, but right.

[00:04:32] But yes, so spoilers, I guess.

[00:04:35] But I don't think that any character on Abbott is like

[00:04:41] going is just never going to be seen again.

[00:04:46] We've discussed this with like with like Gary and Zach, if we're going to

[00:04:50] see them again, some of the other characters that we haven't seen in a while.

[00:04:55] And I think that it's just like we can never let characters.

[00:05:01] What's the word?

[00:05:02] We shouldn't discount any characters potentially returning, but I feel

[00:05:07] like some of the district characters were not super fleshed out.

[00:05:10] We didn't know too many.

[00:05:12] We didn't really get to know any of them.

[00:05:15] That receptionist that secretly hated Janine.

[00:05:17] I really hope we get them back.

[00:05:19] Yes.

[00:05:20] Yes.

[00:05:21] And I think it would be nice to see them here and there.

[00:05:24] It's always nice when we get a little throwback to some of these characters.

[00:05:28] Mm hmm.

[00:05:29] Yeah, so a lot of fun characters at the district, as you all can probably tell,

[00:05:34] G has seen more episodes than I have at this point.

[00:05:36] So I don't really know, but I did enjoy them.

[00:05:39] Like you said, the receptionist at the front desk.

[00:05:42] Amazing, secretly hating Janine is so fun, but also Keegan-Michael Key and

[00:05:47] in his role and, you know, Manny and the crew, they're all fun,

[00:05:51] but they're all fun for the district, right?

[00:05:53] And what the district has going on and that doesn't really align with what we're

[00:05:57] doing here on Abbott Elementary.

[00:05:58] So although Janine seemingly was promising in that role, she knew what she was

[00:06:03] doing over the course of these two episodes.

[00:06:05] She's going to get dragged back by the gravity of Abbott.

[00:06:09] She just can't stay away.

[00:06:10] And one of the main storylines from the first episode is that Alex Perkins,

[00:06:15] a student that Janine knows well, he was in Janine's class, but also in

[00:06:20] Gregory's class, he hasn't been coming to school.

[00:06:23] You know, he has not been coming to school.

[00:06:25] They don't know what to do.

[00:06:26] They've called home.

[00:06:27] There's been all these attempts to make a connection and they just can't figure

[00:06:32] out a way to do this within the bounds of the district.

[00:06:35] So Janine ultimately has to make a judgment call and her and Gregory

[00:06:40] go to this kid's house in order to talk to his grandma to get them to

[00:06:43] come back to school, come to find out kids only not coming to school

[00:06:47] because Miss Teague's is not there, Gia.

[00:06:49] And that's bad for business.

[00:06:51] So this is the cutest thing ever.

[00:06:53] This broke my heart that he was not coming to school because he missed his teacher.

[00:06:59] Like, oh my, it was so cute.

[00:07:02] It was adorable.

[00:07:03] It was really sad.

[00:07:04] I was worried.

[00:07:05] Were you worried when we kept seeing these like moments of him being like

[00:07:09] he's not coming to school?

[00:07:11] There's all these unexcused absences.

[00:07:13] We don't know what's going on.

[00:07:14] And then they go to his house.

[00:07:16] I was terrified for like what I'm like, what dark turn are we about to take on the show?

[00:07:21] Like this is my happy show.

[00:07:23] This is my I don't want to think about anything else.

[00:07:26] Let me watch my happy show show.

[00:07:29] And so I was very glad that it was not something serious.

[00:07:34] But I could have turned into something serious because if he missed one more day,

[00:07:38] he had the risk of repeating the second grade and calling a truancy officer

[00:07:44] for something or like report him on a child.

[00:07:47] That seems like a lot like, come on now.

[00:07:49] I get that that's policy, but it's dumb.

[00:07:51] And like, why do we do that?

[00:07:55] Anyway, that's different, different.

[00:07:57] But so it was, you know, listen, again, they probably should not have gone over

[00:08:03] to the house, but we finally got some answers.

[00:08:06] And I found it interesting how they portrayed

[00:08:10] Alex's grandmother in this episode because she was somebody that,

[00:08:17] you know, back in her day, it wasn't a big deal if you missed school.

[00:08:20] They did not have these truancy laws.

[00:08:22] And, you know, whether you went to school or not, it was not treated as big

[00:08:27] of a deal, at least in her family as much as it was now where kids have

[00:08:34] to go to school, like you are legally required to go to school.

[00:08:38] This kid is just chilling, watching the prices right and, you know,

[00:08:42] hanging with Drew Carey all day.

[00:08:44] And honestly, love that for him.

[00:08:46] That was my favorite way to spend my sick days.

[00:08:49] Mm hmm. Oh yeah.

[00:08:50] It's back in my look back in my day before Drew Carey, I was a Bob Barker kid.

[00:08:55] You know, my grandma was watching Bob.

[00:08:57] Oh yeah, I was a Bob Barker kid as well.

[00:09:01] It was prices right, but different hosts.

[00:09:03] Yeah, for sure. Prices right.

[00:09:05] I did a little supermarket sweep every now and then if it was like if I was really

[00:09:08] young, you know what I'm saying? Oh yeah.

[00:09:10] Granny had her shows.

[00:09:11] So when you spend the time with grandma,

[00:09:13] yeah, she's going to revert back to some of the things that she knows well.

[00:09:16] Right. And she knows if this kid is miserable, why would I send him to

[00:09:19] the school? And there's a lot of sense being made right there.

[00:09:22] You don't, you know, the child's mental health matters just as much as

[00:09:26] their education and you have to address both those things.

[00:09:28] But neither one of them were being addressed at this point because grandma

[00:09:31] was just saying, all right, you don't got to go to school.

[00:09:33] That doesn't fix the problem that he's going to end up getting set back a grade.

[00:09:38] He's also going to miss out on a lot of important information.

[00:09:41] And you can't just not go to school, you know, like that's like you said,

[00:09:44] legally required to do that.

[00:09:45] So Gregory is deep into this investigation until he finds out this kid

[00:09:50] lives across the street from the school, literally in walking distance

[00:09:53] of the school and he's about to get basically held back a grade because

[00:09:58] he hasn't made the trip across the across the front yard.

[00:10:01] You know, so Janine and Gregory break the rules.

[00:10:04] They go in there and after talking to granny, it's clear this kid just misses

[00:10:09] his tees. And so they go in, they have a conversation with them.

[00:10:12] Clearly all of this is against the rules.

[00:10:14] But

[00:10:15] eventually they're able to pull them back in and Alex goes back to class.

[00:10:19] But this is when one of those huge moments where you can tell that

[00:10:23] Janine can feel, you know, just abit, just yanking her away from all

[00:10:28] of that goes on at the district.

[00:10:29] Her heart is just not at the district the way Abit is, Gia.

[00:10:33] Janine and I have that in common.

[00:10:35] I'm so glad I don't have to do this again.

[00:10:37] Like I'm glad I'm happy with it.

[00:10:39] I'm happy with the decision from a

[00:10:42] Abit elementary fan.

[00:10:46] However, I think that like, you know, and especially this season,

[00:10:49] I feel like because we haven't seen her in the classroom and we saw a couple

[00:10:53] times where she was like in the classroom and didn't seem to really

[00:10:56] have a strong connection with some of her students.

[00:10:59] And I think it was nice for us to be reminded as viewers that

[00:11:04] Janine is not just a teacher, but she is a good teacher and she is a teacher

[00:11:08] that leaves a positive impact on her students.

[00:11:11] And this is one of the, I don't want to say consequences, but because, you know,

[00:11:16] this was always just something that was going to happen with this fellowship.

[00:11:19] But that's a result of her taking a job where she's losing out on valuable

[00:11:25] time to make those connections with students, but she still has left a positive

[00:11:29] impact on the students that she is teaching this year.

[00:11:33] Yeah. And this means a lot for Gregory as well.

[00:11:35] He ends up like basically making Alex an honorary member of his garden goofballs.

[00:11:42] So they can really like help with staying on top of Alex's attendance.

[00:11:47] But it's just the weight of all of this

[00:11:50] and Janine's departure is just it's heavy.

[00:11:53] You can see it's heavy on the kids.

[00:11:54] It's also heavy on someone like Gregory and some of the other employees as well.

[00:11:58] So it just, Abbot ain't Abbot without Janine Teague's.

[00:12:02] That's just what it comes down to.

[00:12:04] It really isn't.

[00:12:05] We need her back.

[00:12:06] And by the end of the next episode, she very much is back.

[00:12:10] So she learns a lot of tricks at the district and, you know,

[00:12:15] hopefully she can bring that back to Abbot to help out because she's going

[00:12:18] to need it because by the end of episode 10, Gia,

[00:12:22] she's back, but the district might have a tiny grudge against Abbot elementary

[00:12:27] for from now on, you know, because she left them high and dry during her going away

[00:12:32] party. She's supposed to take a shot.

[00:12:33] She's supposed to sign the thing, take a photo and really sign her life away

[00:12:38] in blood in a blood oath to the district.

[00:12:41] But when she reads Barbara's going away letter and then sees that the kids

[00:12:45] all signed it, it was a no-brainer for her.

[00:12:47] Janine's coming back and hopefully the district's not too salty about it.

[00:12:51] Moving forward.

[00:12:53] Is it? Did anyone else think it was weird that they like had a party right away

[00:12:57] and they're like, oh, we're going to take a celebratory shot while you sign

[00:13:01] all this paper? Like, was that not weird?

[00:13:03] That was weird, right?

[00:13:05] It felt cultish.

[00:13:06] I'm sorry.

[00:13:07] Like drinking with coworkers is a rite of passage.

[00:13:11] It comes organically.

[00:13:12] I can't just drink with any of my coworkers.

[00:13:15] It's got to be like we have to build that rapport.

[00:13:17] Drinking time is valuable, precious time.

[00:13:20] I just it's not for everybody.

[00:13:23] You know, like, I'm sorry.

[00:13:24] This is not just like comes at the at the drop of a hat.

[00:13:28] I'm sorry. I take it.

[00:13:30] I take my drinking very seriously.

[00:13:32] No, I'm exact.

[00:13:33] I'm with you on that one because Janine did a lot at the district, but not

[00:13:36] enough to where she should be taking shots with these people.

[00:13:38] Like we don't know them yet because her library program is doing great.

[00:13:43] She's obviously on like a seven year plan of moving up the ranks.

[00:13:48] But she ain't been there long enough.

[00:13:51] You know, she had they haven't been through what the people at Abbott have

[00:13:53] been through with Janine and Janine is clearly still holding on to Abbott.

[00:13:58] She's even wearing her lanyard still that Ava makes sure, you know, Gregory

[00:14:02] collects from her because, you know, we love Ava.

[00:14:05] We're very pro Ava here.

[00:14:07] You know, we're pro Janine, but this is a Ava stand podcast.

[00:14:09] Yeah, exactly.

[00:14:11] How do you think Ava feels now that Janine is coming back?

[00:14:14] Because she just collected her things.

[00:14:17] I think she secretly wants to be like, I think, I think she,

[00:14:21] I think that's why I think she had a reason that she sent Gregory over in particular

[00:14:26] to make sure that he collected her lanyard.

[00:14:30] I know what Abbott is low on funds, right?

[00:14:32] But right even knew what she was doing.

[00:14:34] I'm sorry, you can't convince me otherwise.

[00:14:37] Yeah. Ava sent Gregory because Gregory is probably the most likely person

[00:14:40] to go over there and make an emotional connection with Janine and then drag

[00:14:43] her back on the low, then Ava can still maintain her.

[00:14:45] Oh, well, Janine, I really didn't want you back.

[00:14:47] But also, you know, also, I'm happy to have you back.

[00:14:51] I think there might be a little bit of that today because through over these two

[00:14:55] episodes, we see Ava essentially get rid of Janine, try to replace Janine.

[00:15:00] What did you think about Janine's replacement?

[00:15:01] This was very fun to me because this woman had to be this person

[00:15:04] had to be the opposite of Janine in every way.

[00:15:07] And Ava trying to narrow down the candidates really that like that's

[00:15:12] that killed me at destroying me.

[00:15:14] I was laughing so hard.

[00:15:15] When I tell you, I hollered at Jelly Bean Belt.

[00:15:19] Right? Yes. Oh my God.

[00:15:22] Because why do you have one of those?

[00:15:23] But also, Janine, why would you admit it?

[00:15:25] So what is the person exactly?

[00:15:26] Why are you sharing that?

[00:15:27] I know. Like why was this public information?

[00:15:30] You could have just said, nope, not happening.

[00:15:33] You saw the processor.

[00:15:34] So he was not qualified for this position.

[00:15:37] But, you know, he could have kept out his business.

[00:15:41] So I thought it was funny that they that she essentially just picked an Ava 2.0.

[00:15:48] But I think again, I I don't think Ava was ever really planning on losing Janine.

[00:15:54] I think she wanted Janine to come back, though she'll never admit it.

[00:15:57] And she did the correct thing here with making sure that Janine came back.

[00:16:03] Yeah. And Janine is back just in time for two Ava two fest.

[00:16:07] Prior to this, we see that Melissa and Barbara have gotten on Jacob's bad side.

[00:16:15] Jacob, he has his I don't know what I want to call it a newsletter.

[00:16:20] Is it a newsletter?

[00:16:21] He seems like he has.

[00:16:23] He has very detailed emails

[00:16:28] and correspondences, I will say.

[00:16:32] And they can be quite wordy.

[00:16:34] Apparently they're like weekly, too, apparently.

[00:16:37] This is not like a this not like a monthly affair.

[00:16:41] You know, this is a regular correspondence.

[00:16:44] Yeah. And the district has new software that will blow the lid off of what Barbara

[00:16:50] and Melissa have been getting away with because the district has AI software now.

[00:16:54] You put this in put the paper in the system, make sure that the kids aren't

[00:16:58] cheating, aren't plagiarizing.

[00:17:00] And we see that in real education as well.

[00:17:03] That is very much like turn it in is one of those programs where you turn it in and

[00:17:08] immediately it tells you how much of it has been plagiarized, how much of it,

[00:17:12] you know, is a direct copy and paste, how much of it is paraphrased from certain

[00:17:15] websites? Basically, it's like the answer to chat GPT.

[00:17:18] You know, so it's like if this if this is something that the students did

[00:17:21] not do, you'll know about it.

[00:17:23] And it turns out that Melissa and Barbara have not responded to any of

[00:17:28] Jacob's correspondence organically.

[00:17:30] Every last one of them.

[00:17:31] I'm talking about 99 percent accurate, 100 percent accurate AI produced emails.

[00:17:37] And so he's mad at the Autobots and Decepticons in the school right now.

[00:17:44] I thought that line was so funny because I was like, well,

[00:17:47] he's got a point.

[00:17:48] These robots are really driving him crazy.

[00:17:51] I listen, I get it.

[00:17:53] I get it.

[00:17:54] I AI is the bane of my existence right now.

[00:17:58] It's just so I shouldn't have to argue with students about why they need to write

[00:18:05] their own work, but I digress.

[00:18:11] But as somebody with very limited time, like turn it in is a lifesaver.

[00:18:15] And yeah.

[00:18:17] So, you know, it happens, but also at the same time, like,

[00:18:23] I don't like reading really long email.

[00:18:26] I get a lot of emails, right?

[00:18:27] So I can't be reading like short stories from people on a regular basis.

[00:18:33] So I can definitely understand Barbara and Melissa side to this because

[00:18:39] why are you sending me all these emails?

[00:18:41] You can come to me in part like we work in the same building.

[00:18:44] You can come to me and say, Jacob lives with Melissa now.

[00:18:48] He can share his thoughts in person.

[00:18:50] Oh my God.

[00:18:51] Yeah.

[00:18:51] Yeah.

[00:18:52] Yeah.

[00:18:53] Bad.

[00:18:54] This is bad, Jacob, especially because Jacob has been completely

[00:18:59] dismissing Mr. Johnson's emails and now if this is a newsletter.

[00:19:06] First of all, if this is an Ava Coleman stand podcast,

[00:19:09] this is a Mr. Johnson stand podcast first and foremost.

[00:19:12] OK, we're here to take a bullet for Mr. Johnson.

[00:19:15] He sends me an email.

[00:19:16] I'm reading it.

[00:19:17] I'm highlighting it.

[00:19:18] I might frame it and put it on the wall.

[00:19:20] Jacob has not been responding to this newsletter about the spring cleaning.

[00:19:23] And it only happens ever so often.

[00:19:26] It's not the same as Jacob's weekly emails that are long and lengthy.

[00:19:29] And Mr. Johnson can tell a story like none other because all the rest of the

[00:19:33] teachers are like, why would I use AI for that?

[00:19:35] This is Mr. Johnson talking about.

[00:19:37] Yeah, let's not be disrespectful, Jacob.

[00:19:39] Finally, he is getting some praise, right?

[00:19:42] Because I was a little tired of people

[00:19:43] shitting on Mr. Johnson lately, right?

[00:19:45] Like tough season for him, for sure.

[00:19:47] Mm hmm.

[00:19:48] He's been through a lot.

[00:19:50] More than anyone else in this season.

[00:19:53] Don't let anybody tell you differently.

[00:19:55] Mm hmm.

[00:19:56] I mean, he's he's expecting, you know, three

[00:19:58] paragraph replies to his commentary for each paragraph of the newsletter.

[00:20:02] And it does sound daunting.

[00:20:04] But again, Mr.

[00:20:06] Johnson only distributes his newsletters

[00:20:08] quarterly and according to Barbara, they contain delightful anecdotes and musings.

[00:20:12] OK, so it's not a hard read.

[00:20:15] This is actually the best read on the campus.

[00:20:17] And so eventually Jacob can kind of see Mr.

[00:20:20] Johnson's point and he apologizes, you know, for writing it off.

[00:20:25] And he also apologizes to Barbara and Melissa,

[00:20:28] promising to cut back on some of those emails.

[00:20:30] And so this is a great episode for Mr.

[00:20:32] Johnson, a triad episode for Jacob.

[00:20:35] But I think he got the gist of it, right?

[00:20:37] Like you can't force everybody to do all this reading and responding.

[00:20:40] And then you don't even have the same type of energy, especially with

[00:20:44] somebody like Mr.

[00:20:45] Johnson, if you don't have that energy toward Mr.

[00:20:47] Johnson, I'm sorry, I can't trust you.

[00:20:49] Right? Like, you know, Jacob was doing well for a while.

[00:20:52] He was, you know, he had some really strong episodes and moments in this season.

[00:20:57] But the moment you disrespect Mr.

[00:20:58] Johnson, you know, like a snatch that Emmy right out of your hands.

[00:21:02] Yeah. So the kids in this episode were so entertaining to me.

[00:21:07] I love the opening of the episode nine where the kids are playing the hand

[00:21:11] games, but it's like the like like the Gen Z social justice warrior

[00:21:16] hand games.

[00:21:17] Um, I thought for a second we were losing recipes because they didn't know,

[00:21:22] you know, the old staples, the Miss Mary Max and the down by the rivers

[00:21:26] and all that stuff, but there in hand game, not the catchiest, but I kind of like it.

[00:21:32] You know what I'm saying?

[00:21:33] It got it got a little beat to it.

[00:21:35] It's got a little rhythm, you know, it's like, yeah, like, OK, OK.

[00:21:39] Yeah, this was good.

[00:21:41] Yeah, I'm not mad about it.

[00:21:43] I've seen these lyrics in the comments of like on Reddit or something like that.

[00:21:47] You know, it's like very much like, hey, we're going to we have these social

[00:21:51] issues that we want to highlight.

[00:21:53] It's like it feels like a Tik Tok or made this, you know what I'm saying?

[00:21:55] Which makes sense because this is that kind of that generation of like,

[00:21:58] you know, this all information we got from Tik Tok, we put it in a hand game.

[00:22:02] It was also, I think I could be wrong, but one of the child stars in

[00:22:09] next episode, an episode 10 is a Tik Tok is like a child's like influence.

[00:22:15] Oh, no, that's episode nine too.

[00:22:17] Yeah. Oh, it was okay.

[00:22:19] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:22:20] Jibria, are you smart?

[00:22:21] She showed up and that's, you know, we talked about it before.

[00:22:24] Abby got money.

[00:22:25] Abby got Jibria money now.

[00:22:26] And that's where I was like, OK, we rich.

[00:22:29] Yeah, they got they got money, money, right?

[00:22:32] Because where are they getting?

[00:22:34] I do miss the staff, right?

[00:22:38] Like the staff members.

[00:22:40] We got we got some of the lunch crew back for episode 10, which I was very happy about.

[00:22:45] And I miss like the whole staff being together.

[00:22:51] And I was very happy that we finally got to see a little bit more of them

[00:22:56] because the lunch crew, I just love all of them so much.

[00:23:00] Yes, I do too.

[00:23:02] In the second episode, we definitely get the lunch crew

[00:23:05] and they're in Hell's Kitchen mode.

[00:23:07] You know, like they're really they're really into to Ava too fast.

[00:23:11] I love the just them whisking around.

[00:23:14] It was I love a competition food show and I know you do too.

[00:23:17] Oh my god. Yeah.

[00:23:19] So it was oh my god.

[00:23:20] I got to tell you.

[00:23:21] OK, real quick sidebar.

[00:23:23] Do you know Eric from Top Chef?

[00:23:25] He has a show on the Food Network Network now.

[00:23:29] Mm hmm. Go on.

[00:23:29] Yes, called Wild Card Kitchen is a combination of like

[00:23:34] like betting and chef's making dishes.

[00:23:38] And a lot of them are Top Chef guest stars.

[00:23:41] My mother showed it to me and I was like, I know him.

[00:23:45] I'll let you know.

[00:23:46] We'll talk more about it later, but it's very good.

[00:23:49] So if you're a network person, watch Wild Card Kitchen.

[00:23:52] Is it no no?

[00:23:53] Like I don't know.

[00:23:55] It's no no.

[00:23:56] Like it's only got like six episodes now, I think or something.

[00:23:59] And I've I learned about it like two weeks ago.

[00:24:01] This is very new.

[00:24:03] Yeah, this was not even two weeks ago.

[00:24:05] It's like my first week watching it in full.

[00:24:08] So yeah, it was an experience.

[00:24:10] It was good. I enjoyed it.

[00:24:11] We need to do a highlight here on recap.

[00:24:13] Kickback and maybe just we might hear.

[00:24:15] Oh, OK.

[00:24:17] I have some thoughts, but yes.

[00:24:18] Yes, we will.

[00:24:19] Yes. OK. Yes.

[00:24:21] Yes. Absolutely.

[00:24:22] So so we but have you seen the bear?

[00:24:28] I've seen the bear. Yes.

[00:24:29] Yes. So that was what this opening scene in Abbott reminded me of.

[00:24:33] It's very the bear as someone that has worked in a kitchen before.

[00:24:39] It is so stressful back there.

[00:24:42] I'm so glad not to be a chef like the individuals that are included in this

[00:24:48] scene, but it was incredible acting on all rounds.

[00:24:52] And then, of course,

[00:24:53] what else would happen besides them testing food for Mr.

[00:24:58] Johnson to be tasting to see if it's good enough for Ava Fest?

[00:25:02] Right. And of course, Mr.

[00:25:03] Johnson is the only judge who I would trust like Mr.

[00:25:05] Johnson and maybe Gordon Ramsay, but like in that order, you know what I'm saying?

[00:25:09] Only those. No.

[00:25:10] Yeah, exactly.

[00:25:11] Exactly. So yeah, this was this was hilarious.

[00:25:13] Love the opening because everybody's prepping for a two Ava, two Fest.

[00:25:17] As we know, that's essentially Abbott's open house last season.

[00:25:21] We I mean, last time we had Jasmine Sullivan kind of not.

[00:25:25] Well, we didn't have Jasmine Sullivan, but we could have.

[00:25:28] I like this episode a lot, Dia, but let me tell you they play in an Ava's face.

[00:25:33] Because if Ava tells you Questlove is coming and she tells you their best

[00:25:36] friends, they met at Alan Iverson's party, all this stuff,

[00:25:39] you believe Ava Coleman?

[00:25:40] I didn't like how they were acting like she was unreliable, which I mean,

[00:25:45] sure, she has been in the past maybe, you know, it's debatable, debatable.

[00:25:49] But moving forward, give Ava her things because Ava dated Andre Iguodala.

[00:25:54] You know what I'm saying?

[00:25:55] She knows famous people don't play with her.

[00:25:57] I know. I don't know why this was a surprise.

[00:25:59] Like just because she's liked it before does not mean she is going to lie again.

[00:26:02] And may I remind you she lied for the school.

[00:26:05] This was just not for her own benefit to say that Jasmine Sullivan was coming.

[00:26:09] And now they might have Jasmine Sullivan money.

[00:26:11] So like, yeah, we can put that down.

[00:26:14] We got money.

[00:26:15] I know we do have Questlove money.

[00:26:17] Spoiler alert again for this episode.

[00:26:19] But Questlove does in fact come he comes.

[00:26:23] I was like, what? And not only he comes, he knows Ava.

[00:26:25] He calls her honest Ava, which again makes sense to me.

[00:26:29] I mean, like honest Abe, Abraham Lincoln,

[00:26:33] honest Ava, two of the most influential

[00:26:37] figures in black history, I would say, honestly.

[00:26:40] Like it's a it adds up.

[00:26:43] Yeah, it really does.

[00:26:44] I mean, Questlove being here again, just highlights again.

[00:26:47] How much money Abbot really has these days.

[00:26:50] But it is the I guess the cherry on top of the two Ava too fast,

[00:26:55] because throughout the episode, people are doubtful of Ava.

[00:26:58] She tells Jacob, hey, go get on Canva, make a flyer, let everybody know that

[00:27:02] Questlove is coming and throughout their trying to undermine Ava,

[00:27:06] trying to make sure that Ava feels like like trying to make sure that Ava

[00:27:10] knows that we know you're lying.

[00:27:13] We don't we don't respect this.

[00:27:15] Why are you acting like this?

[00:27:16] They go behind her back and then they say, OK, well, we'll release her own

[00:27:20] our own flyer and Ava is rightfully, rightfully offended because not only

[00:27:25] she know Questlove, their old friends, he talked to Alan Iverson about her recently.

[00:27:30] So although the parents think they're being lured here by what did they say?

[00:27:36] By what was it?

[00:27:38] I think he said, don't lure us here with

[00:27:40] a well-respected R&B and rap artist.

[00:27:43] Well, guess what?

[00:27:44] Welcome to your well-respected rap artist.

[00:27:46] It's Questlove, ladies and gentlemen.

[00:27:48] So I think that Ava too fast has to happen every season or if not every other

[00:27:52] season, this needs to be a staple.

[00:27:54] I did.

[00:27:55] So like again, we I think we both have agreed that

[00:27:59] Ava Elementary is like the office but better.

[00:28:02] So like how sorry if that offends you, but also I don't care.

[00:28:08] And why are you here?

[00:28:09] Yeah, exactly.

[00:28:10] Like you are on the wrong podcast.

[00:28:11] I'm so sorry.

[00:28:13] And but like, you know how the office always had a Christmas episode or

[00:28:19] like a Halloween episode and they had like different ones every season.

[00:28:23] I think we need a annual like or a seasonal, I should say, Ava fast episode.

[00:28:29] I think that is like only makes sense.

[00:28:32] And it just becomes like bigger and grander and like a different well-respected

[00:28:38] R&B artist is welcomed every time and it just gets more grand with each season.

[00:28:43] Before, you know, like they essentially produce like the series finale,

[00:28:47] I assume will be Ava Fest in like Coachella.

[00:28:51] Like, yeah.

[00:28:52] Yes. No, that's perfect because now again, we got money now.

[00:28:55] So, you know, sure, maybe just maybe we were led astray about Jasmine Sullivan.

[00:29:00] We have it like that this now like now we got we got money.

[00:29:04] And also Abigail Clout, this is an award winning show.

[00:29:08] So I feel like if I'm a celebrity, a well-respected R&B or rap artist,

[00:29:12] I'm going to be falling over myself to get included in Ava Elementary.

[00:29:16] There was a moment where I really thought we were going to hear

[00:29:19] Barbara's church choir sing Angel by Amanda Perez and I got way too excited

[00:29:23] because I was thinking how did we get here?

[00:29:26] Ava, but I'm not complaining about it.

[00:29:28] This is great. I think Ava too fast is becoming huge.

[00:29:31] I think that everybody's enjoying it.

[00:29:33] And now that she's established that quest love could potentially be there.

[00:29:36] The sky is the limit to you.

[00:29:38] Oh, my God, I think like definitely like they

[00:29:42] I don't think every show can really pull off like the same bit like recurring

[00:29:49] throughout the series, but I think this episode did prove that like

[00:29:53] what was originally kind of like treated like a joke for Ava Fest as like a way

[00:29:59] to convince the parents to not make Abbott a charter school could be

[00:30:03] something that has turned into a regular tradition and also something that is

[00:30:09] like fun for the viewers to so.

[00:30:12] And it's a great opportunity to again see some of the talent that we don't see

[00:30:16] every episode like the lunch crew, like see all of the staff working together.

[00:30:20] We start to learn a little bit more about some of the other teachers at Abbott

[00:30:24] like last season, so I'm really enjoying it.

[00:30:28] Yes. And Ava has said on record, she wants to make this better.

[00:30:33] She wants to make this bigger.

[00:30:34] She wants to make it unhinged as opposed to hinge as Melissa suggests.

[00:30:37] I normally agree with Melissa, but she's dead ass wrong.

[00:30:41] This is my energy.

[00:30:42] OK, make things unhinged.

[00:30:44] Let us have a good time here because this is work, y'all.

[00:30:48] I've been elementary.

[00:30:49] This is where these people go for work.

[00:30:50] Let them have a little fun.

[00:30:51] You know, let the kids loosen up a little bit, bring in mega stars.

[00:30:55] Keep this party going.

[00:30:56] I like this. Oh, me too. Me too.

[00:30:58] I think this is a perfect example of like a Abbott tradition, a tradition in general

[00:31:05] that just like brings out some great moments.

[00:31:07] And we had some very funny parents again, which is always a great time.

[00:31:11] Yeah, these parents these parents need a bigger storyline.

[00:31:14] Again, like like you were saying about the lunch lady and then some of the other

[00:31:18] some of the other staff members, these parents are very, very good.

[00:31:21] They're the community time.

[00:31:22] It goes always there.

[00:31:23] They pop up at the right moment.

[00:31:24] And so I really love seeing them.

[00:31:27] But yeah, this is the episode where we do get Janine's exit.

[00:31:30] And so I wanted to talk a little bit about how they get Janine back.

[00:31:35] She's going through her dip.

[00:31:36] Her library program was successful.

[00:31:38] We know Gregory still trying to get his grand thing going for his garden.

[00:31:42] But when he goes to the district, he drops off some of Janine's things

[00:31:47] and he even gives Janine some dirt from Abbott because she says, I missed the dirt.

[00:31:52] When someone tells you they missed the dirt at a place that really missed

[00:31:55] that place, yeah.

[00:31:57] I don't think I've ever said I've missed the dirt anywhere.

[00:32:00] Like I don't do I love exactly.

[00:32:03] But like, do I love anything as much as as Janine loves Abbott?

[00:32:08] I don't know.

[00:32:10] No, you don't.

[00:32:11] I don't know yet.

[00:32:13] However, yeah, maybe those daiquiris we had at New Orleans were pretty good.

[00:32:19] So, you know, I might I might reconsider that.

[00:32:22] I was telling my friend the other day about how when we went, there was just

[00:32:25] so many chicken and daiquiri places that were there.

[00:32:28] And then then I had to explain it was not chicken, comma, and daiquiri places.

[00:32:33] They are a single restaurant called Chicken and Dacquiri, which is the only two

[00:32:39] things I wanted going into New Orleans.

[00:32:41] So it just like all my needs for met there.

[00:32:44] I think that is I miss the New Orleans dirt, I guess is what I'm saying.

[00:32:51] I miss the sidewalk that I got this huge

[00:32:53] espouse on my knee, an even sidewalk that was that was home.

[00:32:58] But yes, but but.

[00:33:02] Yes, I think that like, you know, we've seen for a while, Janine,

[00:33:06] she's enjoyed the district almost because like she feels like she needs to.

[00:33:11] She was good at the district, but even getting her there was took a lot of

[00:33:17] convincing and I think at the end of the day, even though again, there has been

[00:33:23] some debate about whether this was a good move for Janine or not.

[00:33:26] I like how they played into it at the end with her decision to.

[00:33:33] Decide to go back to Abbott because there's a reason she got involved

[00:33:39] in the career that she did.

[00:33:42] Yeah, just she loves teaching.

[00:33:43] You know, they try to incentivize Janine to stay talking about, oh, well,

[00:33:48] have you seen our health benefits?

[00:33:50] You really need to elect into something like that.

[00:33:52] You're 401k, you know, you need to do that.

[00:33:54] But all this like they give her a new computer.

[00:33:57] But all that stuff feels like permanence to Janine.

[00:33:59] You can tell that anything that's going to cause her to form a root or to

[00:34:03] plant any roots here and at the district, she's avoiding.

[00:34:06] You know, she looks like she's getting overwhelmed at the very idea

[00:34:09] that they gave her a parking spot.

[00:34:11] She said, I'll just walk.

[00:34:12] You know, she even at one point tells the lie.

[00:34:15] Yeah, I can see Abbott from here from my office window.

[00:34:17] You cannot stop it. No, you cannot.

[00:34:19] Ma'am, seek help.

[00:34:20] And so Janine loves it.

[00:34:22] She loves her job.

[00:34:22] She loves the kids.

[00:34:23] She loves the teaching part.

[00:34:25] And this is something that I really relate to as an educator because

[00:34:28] in education, the higher up you go, the further you move away from the kids.

[00:34:32] Like, you know, as a teacher, you pretty much can affect the students' lives daily.

[00:34:37] You know, you see them daily, you interact with them daily.

[00:34:40] They get to know you.

[00:34:41] You build that bond.

[00:34:42] They go on to do great things and you feel very warm and fuzzy about it later on.

[00:34:46] But, you know, when you start to move up, let's say you go up to vice principal,

[00:34:49] you see probably less students at that point than you move up to principal.

[00:34:52] And you're essentially the managing person over the school.

[00:34:56] You're dealing with a lot of the teachers at that point, a lot of the educators.

[00:35:00] So at that point, your day to day is probably with other administrators

[00:35:04] and other teachers and you might see a couple of students every now and then.

[00:35:07] Janine has moved to the district.

[00:35:09] There are no students at the district.

[00:35:10] And Janine is a very student driven teacher.

[00:35:13] Like, she's very much about like the personal connections about helping these

[00:35:17] students on a one-on-one basis.

[00:35:18] And this just doesn't jive with what we know about Janine.

[00:35:21] So it was only a matter of time from my point of view before she went back.

[00:35:25] There was no world where she was going to sign this away.

[00:35:28] But I, you know, I think nine episodes in that's a pretty ten episodes.

[00:35:32] And that's a pretty decent run for Janine to try something new.

[00:35:35] But it's definitely time for her to come back to you.

[00:35:37] Yeah. And I think because we're getting a short in season this

[00:35:43] this year, because of the writer strike that this was the correct season

[00:35:47] to put this storyline in with the district because it, you know,

[00:35:52] we had a couple episodes around it.

[00:35:54] It's done.

[00:35:55] We're moving on to other things now.

[00:35:57] Janine is officially back at Abbott, but they did try something new.

[00:36:02] So we got to see a little bit more, learn a little bit more about Janine

[00:36:06] and some of the other staff members.

[00:36:09] And I'm happy for that, but I'm glad that she is back at Abbott.

[00:36:12] And we're going to return to more of a sense of normalcy, I will say.

[00:36:17] Yeah, I missed it.

[00:36:19] I wonder what the effect is going to be now that she's back now.

[00:36:22] Does this does this upset the new balance at Abbott?

[00:36:25] Right. Because we see that Melissa and Jacob are a thing now.

[00:36:28] You know, Gregory and

[00:36:31] and Jacob are now a lot closer to now.

[00:36:36] You know, I feel like and then Melissa and Barbara have always been close.

[00:36:39] I feel like Janine now has to kind of figure out where she sits in this at this

[00:36:44] lunch table now, you know, like who is who is her person?

[00:36:47] Because we know the will they won't they with Gregory was strong at one point.

[00:36:51] But by this episode, there's almost none of that.

[00:36:54] So where do we go from here, Giaz?

[00:36:56] I guess is what I'm asking you.

[00:36:57] I think I think that this will encourage

[00:37:01] Janine to be a little more independent, which I think is good because

[00:37:06] she could be a little clingy with some of the other teachers and really focused

[00:37:10] in her identity as being an Abbott elementary teacher.

[00:37:14] We saw that in several episodes in seasons one and two where she had

[00:37:18] difficulty separating her personal life from her professional life.

[00:37:22] But I think that this will give her some time to maybe relax a little bit,

[00:37:27] be a little more mature and also hopefully

[00:37:32] be able to branch out and be a little more independent.

[00:37:34] But I also, you know, like Jacob was so happy to have Janine back.

[00:37:39] So yeah, Gregory and him are getting a lot closer.

[00:37:43] I think that they are maybe not even

[00:37:46] begrudgingly as much anymore best friends.

[00:37:49] But I think that Jacob is always going to have a special place in his heart

[00:37:54] for Janine and he was so happy to see her back.

[00:37:56] And that was one of the things that I love to see because I am just like Jacob,

[00:38:01] when my work friends leave to get other jobs, like, am I happy for them?

[00:38:05] No, not even a little bit.

[00:38:07] Am I happy they are getting more opportunities and making more money

[00:38:10] and have better opportunities for themselves?

[00:38:12] No, because you need to be Miss.

[00:38:13] We'll hear with me.

[00:38:14] You need to be like co, like be commiserating with me.

[00:38:17] That is your role.

[00:38:18] That is part of your job description.

[00:38:20] So when they have decided to come back, I am so happy.

[00:38:25] It was just really nice to see like Jacob just get really excited.

[00:38:29] Like, you know, he was vouching for Janine all season.

[00:38:32] Every opportunity he did, he got an opportunity.

[00:38:35] Every opportunity he had, he wanted to

[00:38:38] like make sure that people were appreciating Janine.

[00:38:42] He stood up for her even when she wasn't there.

[00:38:44] And he was so sad when she was leaving permanently.

[00:38:48] So now that she is back, Jacob, Jacob's a real one.

[00:38:51] Like, he was so happy to have her back.

[00:38:53] And I forgave him a little bit for disrespecting Mr.

[00:38:57] Johnson in the episode, not fully forgiven.

[00:38:59] He's still on probation, but this moment made up for it.

[00:39:03] Yeah, I'm very excited.

[00:39:06] I'm very excited to see the crew back together.

[00:39:08] We know we love Janine.

[00:39:09] We love the way the Abbott Elementary cast, they just they just kind of just fit.

[00:39:14] You know, there's not one person where I would say this person doesn't fit in

[00:39:17] with the group, we don't need them.

[00:39:19] We need all of these players around.

[00:39:21] You know, we definitely don't need Janine away from Abbott.

[00:39:24] But for drama purposes and for good TV, you know, we do have to come to like,

[00:39:29] what is our next milestone for Abbott?

[00:39:31] We've done the legendary schools.

[00:39:33] We've done now the district.

[00:39:36] I think we kind of have to go revisit the conversation about

[00:39:40] about Gregory and Janine at this point.

[00:39:42] I think that is the loose end that we haven't tied up.

[00:39:45] Yeah, you and I have famously said we need them together, but not definitely right now.

[00:39:51] We need them to kind of live.

[00:39:52] We want Janine to, you know, hope for it a little bit, do a thing.

[00:39:56] But it has enough time pass like is it time?

[00:39:58] We're three seasons in.

[00:39:59] Why is this couple not together?

[00:40:01] Do we need to wait a little bit longer?

[00:40:03] I need listen.

[00:40:05] Now, the will they won't they eventually it just gets to a.

[00:40:12] All right, like cut the bullshit.

[00:40:14] I need I needed to be out.

[00:40:15] They will right now, right?

[00:40:17] This moment.

[00:40:18] And you know, I think I love Janine and Greg.

[00:40:22] Yeah, I love Janine and Gregory together.

[00:40:24] They're great.

[00:40:26] They are so cute.

[00:40:27] We get so many cute moments that just like I want to shake the stupid out of

[00:40:31] Gregory and just earn him in Janine's direction and be like there.

[00:40:36] Like that is your person.

[00:40:38] Deal with it.

[00:40:39] I whatever he was doing in episode one of season three where he put a period

[00:40:44] on it, bullshit.

[00:40:45] Absolutely not.

[00:40:46] I refuse to accept that as like the end of that storyline.

[00:40:51] And they were so cute in season two, right?

[00:40:53] Like so, so cute even when they were going back and forth about really stupid stuff.

[00:40:57] I just really need them together.

[00:41:02] So I'm getting a little impatient.

[00:41:05] And we still like, you know, even if they do get together soon,

[00:41:09] it's going to be like, you know,

[00:41:12] they're they're going to have to go through the dating experiences.

[00:41:15] I don't feel like it is necessarily like so many things have to change or

[00:41:20] oh, like there's some like that storyline is just completely over once they get

[00:41:25] together. I think there's so much that they can explore with them as a couple,

[00:41:31] like as they're dating and things like that.

[00:41:33] So if not by the end of season three, definitely season four, right?

[00:41:40] Because in my mind, Abbott goes on for at least ten seasons.

[00:41:44] But it's short, but I'll I'll concede at least ten is the minimum, right?

[00:41:50] Ten is the minimum.

[00:41:51] But like I'm thinking like 15, 20 seasons.

[00:41:54] But as a respectable amount, I'm thinking like survivor level where we're

[00:41:59] talking about like Abbott Elementary 50, like what stars are they bringing in?

[00:42:05] What kids have come back to school to teach?

[00:42:07] Yeah, I need all that.

[00:42:08] Yes. So that's the goal.

[00:42:11] But for right now, you know, them getting together in season four is like

[00:42:15] the maximum of what I can take, right?

[00:42:17] Like any later than that and I'm going to be a little mad, a little mad.

[00:42:23] Yeah, it's time.

[00:42:24] It's for me. It's time.

[00:42:25] It's time because you're right.

[00:42:27] They have to go through all the growing pains.

[00:42:29] Like this is why, you know, we try not to bring up the office too much.

[00:42:33] But that's like Jim and Pam are so boring together.

[00:42:36] Janine and Gregory are going to be so messy, you know, just they're going to

[00:42:42] overthink things. I'm pretty sure they're going to try to hide it from the other

[00:42:46] the other teachers for a while for whatever reason, as if everybody's not going

[00:42:48] to already know that kind of thing.

[00:42:51] But that's the kind of stuff that yeah, give us that.

[00:42:54] But also come on, hurry up because we got this short season for Abbott season

[00:42:58] three due to the writer strike.

[00:43:00] We don't know how many more seasons have ever got.

[00:43:01] We know we've gotten season four coming.

[00:43:03] Obviously, once they see season four, then we're going to get season five.

[00:43:05] But once we hit season 10 or 11, I'm going to need like several years of these

[00:43:09] people have been together, you know, maybe like a child or something.

[00:43:13] You know what I'm saying? Like yeah, this is the relationship that I'm invested

[00:43:15] in the most. I think right now it's time to start to rip the band aid off

[00:43:19] and give us the will they want they that we deserve.

[00:43:22] Give us the relationship between Janine and Gregory.

[00:43:24] I think it's I think we've made it this far.

[00:43:26] I think it's time.

[00:43:27] Yeah. Oh yeah.

[00:43:29] I think we have gotten to a point where.

[00:43:35] You know, we have seen a lot of the, you know, like the slow pay, slow burn,

[00:43:40] getting together phase.

[00:43:42] We have seen a lot of we've seen Janine decide he doesn't want it to turn serious.

[00:43:48] We've seen Gregory decide he doesn't want it to turn serious.

[00:43:51] We both know they're full of shit.

[00:43:54] Now we need to move on.

[00:43:55] Jacob is like holding it down for us right now,

[00:43:58] trying to do everything in his power to make them both see the light.

[00:44:01] So, you know, I think it's time that we we go in another direction.

[00:44:06] Janine has been gone for so long.

[00:44:08] She's back now.

[00:44:10] Let's pick up the pace a little bit.

[00:44:12] Yeah, I agree.

[00:44:13] I agree. I'm happy to have her back and now we get to see what happens next.

[00:44:17] So, is there anything we missed from these two episodes?

[00:44:25] What was it?

[00:44:27] I feel like.

[00:44:29] Nope, I think that was it.

[00:44:31] We missed just everyone was great.

[00:44:34] You know, I loved seeing the collaboration on these two episodes.

[00:44:37] And I'm really excited to talk about episodes 11 and 12.

[00:44:41] Exactly. Exactly.

[00:44:43] Look, we're on to the next episodes.

[00:44:45] I'm looking right now at the episode guide for Avent Elementary Season 3.

[00:44:50] This is episode nine and ten.

[00:44:52] We have a double day in Mother's Day coming soon.

[00:44:55] Obviously, Mother's Day hasn't dropped yet.

[00:44:57] But once it does, we'll have a podcast coming your way to cover

[00:44:59] those two episodes and then episode 13 and 14 are called Smith Playground.

[00:45:04] And party and I don't know what to expect from any of those.

[00:45:09] But I'm very excited to see because double day to me, I haven't watched that episode

[00:45:14] yet, but I'm wondering, OK, who's dating in the Mother's Day?

[00:45:18] Are we going to get Janine's mom?

[00:45:20] Because, you know, that was drama in and of itself.

[00:45:22] You I mean, you mentioned the bear earlier, but we could get Janine's sister back.

[00:45:25] I have so many questions about Mother's Day.

[00:45:27] Gia, this is going to be fun.

[00:45:29] I am very excited for this.

[00:45:31] I don't.

[00:45:33] So like Mother's Day in particular, like we know Barbara's a mom,

[00:45:37] but nobody else she is a mother that mothers.

[00:45:42] But like nobody else in Abbott is currently a maternal figure, I should say.

[00:45:49] We have plenty of mothers.

[00:45:51] So I am very interested to see how this goes.

[00:45:55] Are we going to get something with Barbara?

[00:45:58] I've saw her. I know we've already met her daughter.

[00:46:01] But I like she's mentioned before that she has more than one child.

[00:46:06] So maybe we could meet some more of her kids or me.

[00:46:08] Maybe we'll see a return of Taraji.

[00:46:10] I haven't seen any

[00:46:13] any like clips, any like teaser trailers about the episode.

[00:46:19] I don't even know if we have like a summary of it yet.

[00:46:21] But I am very excited to see what comes up from Mother's Day.

[00:46:26] I'm sure it will be a great one.

[00:46:28] Me too. And so in the meantime,

[00:46:31] check out all the other content we have here on Recap KB back and keep up with what

[00:47:24] Christine Palin. But for Survivor fans,

[00:47:26] Survivor 50 has recently been announced to be confirmed as a season with returning

[00:47:32] players. Now, what exactly that means and what that's going to look like?

[00:47:35] We don't know.

[00:47:37] However, we're going to do a lot of

[00:47:40] speculating and we're going to have a lot of I will say requests,

[00:47:44] but really demands about players that I would like to see on Survivor 50.

[00:47:49] And Inside Survivor will be having some articles

[00:47:54] published by me in the off season that highlight some of the players that I want

[00:47:58] to see return. So stay tuned for that.
