[00:00:20] Abbott Elementary Season 6 Episode 1 Jungle Classroom and Season 6 Episode 2 Check-Ins are over, but we are back again once again here on Recap Kickback.com to talk about Abbott Elementary on our Abbott Elementary A Post Show Recap Podcast.
[00:00:37] That's right, it's me, your host Chappell, and I feel so great. Summer is over, school is back in session, and with me to talk about the next season of Abbott, once again, the principal of the podcast, Gia Worthy. Gia, welcome back. Chappelle, it has been a long break for us. You know, we've talked to each other. We've been on podcasts recently, so this isn't new for us, but we haven't seen the people.
[00:01:05] We haven't gotten to talk about Abbott Elementary. And when I was in DC for an RHAP event, one of the big questions I got is, are you doing Abbott Elementary? So this episode of the podcast is the official yes, we are back to talk about Season 6 of Abbott Elementary. Hopefully the, you know, like, we'll say this is like the mid-middle season of the cinematic universe. Like, I'm expecting at least six more seasons at this point.
[00:01:34] Absolutely, absolutely. And for the people who are here for the first time, Gia and I have been talking about Abbott for a long time. I feel like we've been doing this since Season 2, right? I think we did a one-off for Season 1, and then we did, actually, did we do, we've done at least one episode for every season. I would have to go back and see if we actually did episode by episode for Season 1, though.
[00:02:03] Yeah, I don't think we did an episodic release of the first season, but maybe Season 2. But since Season 3, for sure, we have been here on Recap Kickback doing this podcast, talking about every episode of Abbott Elementary. We do the episodes in pairs because it's a lot of episodes and a lot of weeks to cover the show. But you can check out our Abbott Elementary complete playlist on our YouTube page. We have an Abbott Elementary playlist, RecapKickback.com. We'll take you to our YouTube page, YouTube.com slash at Recap Kickback.
[00:02:32] And you can catch up with all of our coverage all the way since Season 3, for sure. Now, since then, of course, we've been covering all of that and much, much more here on RecapKickback.com. So if you haven't already, make sure you subscribe to the podcast. And then that way, you can keep up with our Abbott coverage and the other coverage that we have as well. Now, this is technically week three of Abbott this season. But like I said, we dropped these episodes in pairs. And recently, Gia was traveling, as she mentioned. She was in D.C.
[00:03:00] And so between Gia traveling and my ridiculous schedule, we took a minute to get the episodes out. But we are back. And so you are all free to subscribe to the podcast, to keep up with what we have going on, and to let us know what you think about the episodes. Because we have a lot to talk about, including that I have not seen or heard from these Abbott people in so long that I forgot some of the stuff that we left off on, including Gregory's looming proposal, I guess, and that came up in this first episode.
[00:03:29] And so I'm very excited to hear what you thought about Jungle Classroom and check-ins as a whole. I did like it. I would say that I felt the same in that it almost felt weird to be excited again for a new Abbott Elementary episode. Like, and, you know, for context, most people listening to this probably know that, like, Chappelle and I are also Survivor fans.
[00:03:54] Survivor started airing around the same time as Abbott Elementary. And Big Brother was on throughout the summer. So that takes over both of our lives, like, TV-wise. But I would say that I was really excited to be excited about new Abbott Elementary.
[00:04:14] And I had read a little bit of the press, both for season six and kind of just a reflection on the past few seasons. And I think it was Quinta. It was one of the cast members or, like, one of the showrunners. But I think it was Quinta that said, you know, season five wasn't really a plot-driven season. Like, stuff happened, obviously. There were, like, arcs that happened in the story.
[00:04:40] But didn't have the overarching arc or, like, one big villain the same way that some of the previous seasons have had. Which made me think, obviously, because I didn't really think about it in that context when we were watching the season. So I'm excited based on what we have seen so far in episodes one and two. But I'm excited to also learn a little bit more about, like, what the showrunners have in store for this season.
[00:05:07] Because I think we're getting back to, like, a more, like, serialized format with some of these episodes. So I'm excited to see what they have planned. Yeah, no, that's a really good point. I think that right now, and I guess in the last season, I was really watching it through the lens of, like, what's going to happen to the school? We had the people in the mall. You know, that was the whole thing. And then, you know, we had our different run-ins with the, you know, the downtown at the superintendent's office and all that kind of stuff. So I was like, okay, what are we doing here?
[00:05:38] Where are we going with the school stuff? But I think we kind of got to the other side of that now. And we can get back to some of these more interpersonal relationships, including Gregory and Janine, which is, you know, the one true pair of this actual show. As far as I'm concerned, we've been kind of watching this since episode one, saying, all right, eventually they're going to get together. We've compared them to other classic showmancers. Other showmancers cannot compare. You know, they can't compete where they can compare. Yeah, this is so much better. I'm sorry, Jim and Pam.
[00:06:08] It's not, it's not, this ain't the same. This is better. Even their, even their, like, brief breakup, which I thought was really stupid, it's, they're still better. They're still better than Jim and Pam. I'm sorry. If you are here to defend the honor of the office, you are talking to the wrong people because we are both pro of the mockumentaries that you know and love. This, this is the one, this is the one to keep an eye out for. This is the standard. Yeah.
[00:06:38] And I, and so now I'm on wedding watch. I really am. I think that we've talked about the proposal enough to where I'm like, all right, it's coming. And then I really kind of want to track how we get to the wedding. Is it going to be a big to do? Are the kids going to be involved? Who all is going to pop up? Are we going to get celebrities showing up that we've seen in the past? People who've made past cameos. And so I'm watching this season through a completely different lens now, Gia. Wait, is, is our, what is, what would this now be?
[00:07:07] Like our fourth rendition of AvaFest? Are we going to get like a AvaFest-esque, like, probably not the wedding. I don't even know. I don't like, but like maybe like a bachelorette part, bachelor, bachelorette. Janine and Gregory seem like the type that would do a like combined bachelor, bachelorette party. Yeah, but would Ava let her? Would Ava really let Janine? I feel like they would love, and they meaning Ava and Barbara and Melissa.
[00:07:36] This is, you know, like the main group, the usual suspects. I think they would love the opportunity to rib on them for doing a joint bachelor, bachelorette party. Like, do I think that, but like, do I think that if Ava were to plan the event that she would allow that? No. But I also think that it makes sense for like the format of how we usually get Abbott Elementary episodes.
[00:08:06] We get them like hanging out together. They're usually all in a big group. And also it just, it makes sense for me for those two characters. Like, I can't even imagine Janine and Gregory really wanting a bachelor and bachelorette party. I feel like this would be something that's like thrust upon them by the other people that we know and love on this show. Being like, why are you not having a bachelor or bachelorette party? So I see the vision. Like, maybe that's our next big like headliner event, you know?
[00:08:36] Like, I could see that happening. We still got to get the proposal. I know, and I didn't expect it to be referenced again so soon. Like, I think it was episode two it was mentioned again. Um, I, I knew that it was something that was like going to be continuing here, but I didn't expect it to have to like happen so quickly that we were mentioning it.
[00:09:01] Like, is this something that's going to happen in like before the winter break of this show? Is it something that we're going to do for like the season finale? I just can't imagine it being a like, it has to be like a big episode. It has to be something that like we're preparing for. It can't be just like a random, oh, by the way, at the end of this random ass episode, they're engaged. We've had a lot of good winter episodes. Those winter finales with the snow and Gregory and Janine, like we've, we've done it.
[00:09:31] So that would be one of those perfect moments. I really do think that's coming. Um, so yeah, fingers crossed on that one. Ava's the one who kind of rips the bandaid off on this one. She just kind of casually tells Greg, Gregory, like, hey, we know that you're, we know that you're going to propose. Oh, Sean told her, uh, he spilled the beans. Apparently they don't keep secrets away from them, uh, from each other's secrets, keep them. And so, uh, I was like, okay, that's real. Um, but yeah, so Ava's in on it. Ava knows at least at the very least.
[00:09:59] So I don't know how long it's going to remain a secret, but I'm imagining that pretty soon. It's going to be one of the, the, the driving plot points of the season and I need it. I'm ready. I'm ready for it to, for us to move forward. Like you said, last season wasn't really that plot driven, but this time I can see the vision of where this could go for us. My prediction is that everybody else is going to find out before Janine, like everybody else. If, if Jacob finds out, then, you know, that's it.
[00:10:29] It's a wrap. Everybody's going to know. If Jacob finds out, he's going to be, there will be signs. He's going to be, there's a reason that Gregory told O'Shawn before he told Jacob. Jacob, because we saw how Jacob acted when he knew that they liked each other and after their breakup, like during the breakup. He just, he's not okay. He will find out after Janine if, unless, you know, unless they really, it's going to take an act of God.
[00:10:55] He might be more excited than Janine if he's there for the actual event to happen. Like this may be his moment. Yeah. I'm excited. That was what the whole time I was watching the episodes. I was really speculating. Like, how are we going to get to like, you know, just completely jumped ahead. All right. So what, who, like, who's going to be in the wedding? I went so far down the rabbit hole. I already have the color, color, uh, coordinations planned out in my head. Courtney's going to be in the wedding, right? She has, she's about to graduate. She has to be.
[00:11:23] Like I can see, they, they need a flower girl. Yeah. Right? She's about to graduate. She has to be in it. She has to be. Like. Her parents are neglecting her. I'm just kidding. I don't know what they're actually. I, I, I assume her parents are going through. From what we learned from episode two, her, her parents are going through a rough time, but, uh, you know, they're, they're going through it. Courtney could use a little win here. She could. Good.
[00:11:49] So let's talk about the things that we learned in the new, uh, in these first two episodes about the way Abbott is starting to shape up, uh, Gregory, uh, at the end of last season, he has a few big moments, but we are coming into this season with him as the assistant principal to Ava's principal. And I'm, I'm, I'm excited. Right. When we first met Gregory, this was his whole goal. He, he, he like had never even taught. He was just like, I went to school to be a principal. Uh, now he's out, he's done the teaching thing and it's time for him to be the principal.
[00:12:18] But unfortunately throughout this episode, he will realize that maybe he doesn't quite know everything that he thinks he knows. Uh, he's working really hard, but by the end of this, we will find out that his replacement for himself, his, uh, you know, the replacement first grade teacher, uh, is going to be an AI deep fake. And Ava knew it from a mile away. Gia, I thought Ava did this. That would have been so funny.
[00:12:45] What if they had a cutaway, like, you know, like that closing segment that they do at the end and they reveal it. I could definitely have seen Mr. Johnson just making a deep fake just cause he could like it's got Ava or Mr. Johnson written all over it. Mm. For sure. Um, so what do you think about Gregory now, uh, at least in these first two episodes, trying to balance the role of assistant principal and first grade teacher? I, I, first of all, I'm going to be a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a call. It sounds like hell.
[00:13:13] Um, I, I can't imagine. One of those jobs is hard enough. Like take your pick. They're both difficult doing both of them because you hired, uh, like you hired chat GPT to run your classroom. Like that is, that is rough. The, I don't even know where to start with this. I am happy. We are taking Gregory's career in the direction he had wanted.
[00:13:40] I am curious what the end result is going to be here, but I am kind of excited for this idea of like, be careful what we, what you wish for, because there's been a couple times throughout the whole series where Gregory realizes like he is not as prepared for being a principal as he originally thought. So that is something that I've really looked forward to with his character.
[00:14:09] And I don't think that means he's going to fail at being an assistant principal in this particular role, but it's been something where, you know, we were originally are presented with this idea of like Gregory was going to be the principal of Abbott elementary. Then that position got taken away. He didn't know why originally and realized it's because Ava blackmailed the superintendent.
[00:14:33] The, so like we, but then as we like get more into the show, we see Ava's actually going unconventional is very good at parts of her job. And those areas that she excels at Gregory is not as prepared and vice versa. So I, I'm excited to see this duo work more together. I think this will be a really exciting development. And I think it'll be definitely trying for Gregory.
[00:15:00] I think this will be a good, a good opportunity to like see him go through maybe a little bit more professional struggles. Exactly. Yeah. Gregory's struggles with becoming the principal or assistant principal in these two episodes kind of drives these two episodes completely because he's got to deal with all these different pitfalls. So in episode two, we see that he's trying to do his one-on-ones, his check-ins with everybody. But the teachers are chaotic. The students are a little chaotic and he has to balance both of those things.
[00:15:28] By the end, he does have to admit to Ava that, all right, maybe I didn't quite know everything. And Ava wrote the book on this, literally wrote the book on men admitting that they were wrong and how to deal with them. I need that book. It's only one physical copy. I know. Drop the Kindle link. I'll pay for it. The e-book. It's on the way. It's on the way.
[00:15:53] So yeah, throughout, we saw, like I said, Gregory really trying to go stick to his vision of what being a principal is, no matter what Ava tells him, right? And there are things that he did well, for sure. We know Gregory's very organized. He talks about how he spent the summer getting close to the superintendent and, you know, really networking and trying to work with different people to make this happen. He's hiring his own replacement. Didn't go well. But there are things that he did well.
[00:16:21] Now, the things that he has to struggle with basically are his friends. I kind of peep that throughout this, a lot of the teachers have complaints and that's fair. You know, Abbott's going through a lot. These teachers, they are out here. They are God's strongest soldiers. But did you notice that whenever Gregory's trying to handle his business, if anybody's going to derail a conversation that he's already trying to have, it's definitely Jacob,
[00:16:48] Melissa, Janine, Janine, Barbara. Janine. Janine again. Yeah. She wants special treatment. And I get it. Like, they are dating. Maybe she should get a little bit of special treatment here and there. But not during a one-on-one. But, like, it's hard when you're friends with somebody in a position of power over you.
[00:17:17] But, like, you can't just barge in on one-on-one check-ins to see that, like, to, like, ask him to help with your problem over all these other people. Like, he's in a role where he can't play favorites like that. And everyone in the building knows that those people are a group. Like, they even say it in the episode. You guys, this is one of my favorite things about the later seasons is that they just, right, they just acknowledge that, like, this is a click in the school.
[00:17:47] It's like, you all just think you run the school, you know? And, I mean, they do. She said, you don't! Yes. Ava, first of all, Ava owns the school. So, I don't know what you want us to do about that. But I do love the fact that it's like, yeah, they're all just friends. They're their own little discombobulated little clique. The, you know, the diversity brochure at the colleges with all the different people on it.
[00:18:18] So, like, they know. The whole school knows that, like, they are all friends. But, Gregory, you got to put your foot down with them a little bit. Because if there's one thing that this group will do is that if you give them an inch, they will take a mile. Yeah, they are not short on audacity. And so, let's kind of talk about some of the issues they brought to his table this time. We start with Jacob has gone out and decided to get Abbott Elementary a playground.
[00:18:45] Now, it never occurred to me in the last six seasons or five seasons that these people did not have a playground. Did you have a playground when you were in elementary school? In elementary school, yeah. Okay, I never had a playground. Really? What did y'all do for fun? We had a parking lot. And it was, like, a parking lot slash, like, had, like, hopscotch, like, outlines on there.
[00:19:12] We never had a, like, and neither of, I went to two different schools in, like, the elementary, middle school phase. And neither of them had playgrounds. We had parking lots. Like, it was rough out. Like, if you fell, you're, like, your day is ruined. Like, there are no cushions on there. It is concrete. So, we never, like, I mean, what did we do for fun? I did not have fun.
[00:19:38] But, like, they, like, we didn't have any of that stuff. So, I just, I don't know what I thought they did during recess or, like, what their, like, what, like, because we never really see the kids at recess or anything like that. But I just assumed they ran around the parking lot, like, like what we, like, what I did when I was their age. Back in my day, all we needed was a blacktop and a dream to make it happen.
[00:20:09] I remember. I don't know what else I thought happened in there. But, yeah, we did not have it. So, I just, I just thought this was normal. I don't know if it's an East Coast thing or if this is. Maybe. There are definitely other schools that I've seen that have had, that have, like, jungle gems. Like, this was just a very weird thing about the schools that I, in particular, went to. Yeah. I mean, I think in the South, Texas specifically, we have a lot more area probably in our schools. That's true, yeah. Right? Because we're dealing with a lot of ground. Yeah.
[00:20:37] And so, yeah, I remember I went to one elementary school from kindergarten up to, like, fourth grade. And they had two playgrounds. They had one for the kindergartners because, you know, you couldn't allow them to play with the big kids. And then once you got to, like, first and second grade. They knew the kindergartners need their own space. They knew we were going to take over. And so, they gave the kindergartners their own space. But then as you got older, you got to go to the bigger playground. And I remember that thing being massive.
[00:21:05] Now, now that I'm an adult, it probably wasn't massive. But to me, as a child, it was probably the biggest thing I'd ever seen in my life. And then by the time I got to fifth grade, I went to a different school. I know they had a playground. I remember playing basketball on that playground. I do not remember anything else about it because I was in fifth grade and I guess I was too cool. And so, yeah, the one thing I remember about recess the most is that I remember missing it when I didn't have it anymore. Because by the time I got, you know, once I got to middle school, they were like, yeah, that's over with. And I was thinking, wait, what?
[00:21:33] So we don't just get an hour to just not be in the classroom? And that might be a mistake from a design format because nobody should be sitting there for that long without moving. But we would have, it was wild because we would have an hour, but it would be like 15 minutes of that was lunch. And then like 45 minutes was like, you need more than 15 minutes for lunch. Who designed this? Yeah, they had y'all in the trenches. Yeah, I know. No playground.
[00:22:01] Had to inhale your food. So you could go outside. Back in your seat. And like, mind you, 10 minutes of that recess is just getting everybody to be, to form a line, to go back to class. Yes. Single file on the way there. Yeah, single file, hands behind your back. Yeah. So the co-open is so cool because we get them, the Sixers are supposed to be, yeah, the Sixers are supposed to be building this playground. It turns out these are not the Sixers. Jacob should have known because these people are not tall.
[00:22:31] These people, like when they bring in, was it Tyrese Maxey, Edgecombe, and Jalen Brown show up. I'm like, there's a clear difference in physicality between these people who look like basketball players and these random Philly locals that you found. When they threw the basketball at the guys, they were like, oh. Yeah, I said, how did you find three black men in Philly who didn't know how to catch a basketball? Like, that was actually weird to me. Like, okay. That was good acting. Yeah, no, that was great. Yeah.
[00:23:01] So Gregory, of course, kind of sidesteps that. But the next issue is Barbara. Barbara shows up looking like, who did it and what happened? But from minute one of Barbara walking in, looking at the shovel with her cracked phone, I knew Barbara did something wrong. They were talking about how this woman got mowed down by a car. And she's like, oh, yeah, but I don't want to talk about it. I don't really want to dive too deep into the details. I said, you did it. I don't know what you did, but you did it. Yeah. I did not look.
[00:23:31] I am somebody that, especially when I'm watching something for the first time, I can miss context clues on a lot of things because I'm just watching it to enjoy it. I'm not looking for, like, the lesson of this episode until we get to the actual lesson. It was coming from a mile away, this episode, that whatever happened, whatever the incident itself was, it was Barbara's fault. Mm-hmm. Yeah, they said there's two sides to every story. She says there's not two sides to this story. Something happened to me.
[00:24:00] I'm a victim, and that's all you need to know about it. And so Gregory's first action as assistant principal is to reinstate the crossing guard, or he was going to, but Ava said somebody else can do it. And that's when Jacob kind of volunteers himself as the liaison that he is to find a new crossing guard. Now, they end up doing interviews for the crossing guard. Do you remember this man from, was he from Black? He is in The Blacks. The Blacks. He is one of the parents, I believe.
[00:24:30] He shows up every couple episodes. Like, anytime they do, like, an open house or something like that, or something where parents are involved, he's usually there. I recognize this guy from All Def Jam, like the YouTube series and stuff like that. I forget his name, but I'm not looking it up right now. But I remember him from that, and he is so funny. And honestly, I'm still thinking about Sarah McLachan all these days later.
[00:25:01] It's such a good line. It's so good. And honestly, I'm surprised they haven't used stuff like this in prior seasons to get, like, more ways to get some, like, guest stars in here. Because, like, I just love that they're pulling from some of the, like, reoccurring cast members that they have and find ways to get them more involved as well. Yeah, I agree. I think that they have done such a good job casting, like, almost, like, extras. Like, even down to the kids. We talk about this all the time.
[00:25:31] Sometimes the kids steal the show, even though we might meet them one time. We're like, wait, bring them back. The cafeteria staff and some of the people that we love. Because, you know, when they're on the screen, they shine. And he really did step into this role as the crossing guard in a way I thought was very funny. They're doing interviews. He does have a Glock on him just in case. But later on, they will find out that there's footage of Barbara getting mowed down. And there was actually no mowing of Barbara at all.
[00:25:59] She collided with a car that may or may not have been parked. And she hit it so hard that she cracked his car, but also broke her phone and injured herself in the making because she was looking down at her phone and walking across the street at the same exact time. So not only has Barbara had an accident on campus, but she has required the school to get a crossing guard so that she doesn't have to look where she's going while she's walking across the street.
[00:26:27] It's such a Barbara thing to do. Such a Barbara thing. Like, it's... Listen, she's wrong. She's so wrong here. There's no other way to put around her. She is wrong. But I did laugh at how unwilling she was to admit guilt. She wasn't going to do it. She just wasn't. In the second episode where she's having her issues with the student, we meet this new student, Justin. He's bald.
[00:26:57] And he has the alopecia, Ariega, I think is what it's called. I probably messed that up. But yeah, he has a little childhood alopecia. And his parents told him, hey, go to school. Told Barbara, just don't make a big deal about him being bald. But of course, she teaches the little babies. And they have questions. And their first question is, Mrs. Howard, why is he bald? Where is his hair? And so throughout the episode, she's trying to decide how to really deal with this.
[00:27:26] And she's another one who looks for a little special attention from Gregory. She barges in on his one-on-ones. It's like, hey, you can't skip the line. She says, I'm Barbara Howard. I can do what I want. And I thought, I mean, y'all going to fight her? I'd be afraid to do it. Yeah. I'm not going to be the person to tell her that she's wrong. Right. Like, I'm saying it now because she's not here. Yeah. She came up with an idea through talking to Melissa about finding somebody who could speak about being bald.
[00:27:55] And of course, that brings up our janitor of the month for the first time ever. I'm sure he's the first and only janitor of the month this school has seen. Mr. Johnson is going to weigh in about being bald. And I didn't know Mr. Johnson. I mean, I obviously knew he was bald, but I didn't know he had such a connection to baldness. You know, he says he knows every bald individual that walks in that school. You know what?
[00:28:18] I was confused at first, but I kind of understand because it's like, I will also see somebody that has like curly hair as well and be like, all right, this is the sister in the struggle. You know, like, you know, I know, you know what I had to do to get my hair to look like this today. I get it. And then he'll understand he sees a bald individual. He's like, no, for my records. I get it. I get it. You need to have solidarity in your community.
[00:28:48] You have to. What did you think about his lesson? Or I guess I should say Barbara's lesson about baldness, because we had all the bald icons in the S tier. Mr. Johnson. We also had the rock Michael Jordan. What do you think about this to make the kids a little bit more understanding of the troubles that Justin is going to have with his hair? I liked it. I've this part was interesting to me because I understand what they were trying to do. Right.
[00:29:15] Like they're trying to say, like, OK, sometimes. The the parent may know what's best, but they're not in the like the parent may have good intentions for their child in the environment that they are growing up in. But they're not there in the classroom with all the other kindergartners. So like and the the kindergartners are asking these questions out of curiosity. Why is he bald? They're not asking it to be rude.
[00:29:43] They're asking it because they're five and they don't they have not understood tact yet and they have not seen other bald kindergartners. So they want to know what you know, like what that is about. It's coming from a place of curiosity, not to make the person themselves uncomfortable. But kids ask what they don't understand. And I don't think it always means that parents know what's best in that particular moment for
[00:30:11] their kid when they are not around to actually see what would happen. So I like this way that. Barbara went around it. But I kind of think they should have just been able to say, like, yes, like this is what alopecia is, right? Like people can be bald for all different reasons. Like that is it. But I guess, you know what? It's a it's a kindergartner class, so I'm not going to think too hard on it.
[00:30:38] I like her final solution in there. I do agree with Mr. Johnson that he is S tier. He should have been up in the Jordan bracket right off the bat. But we'll forget Barbara for this. She doesn't know what S tier is. I did laugh at the S tier part of it because I think like the the fandom in us, we we have seen a tier ranking in our day. Absolutely. I agree with you.
[00:31:06] I think that Barbara handled this pretty well because it is a sticky situation. The parents told you not to draw attention to it, but they don't they're not in the classroom. So they don't get, you know, what Barbara would have to deal with. It's more of a hassle to ignore it than it is to just acknowledge it. Now, they don't have to she doesn't have to bring Justin to the front of the class and say, this is Justin. He's bald. He's got alopecia. But to like have a conversation about baldness and how it's normal and that anybody could be bald and that, you know, really cool people have been bald, even if it means pushing
[00:31:35] some Chicago Bulls propaganda. I think that's fair. When I was in kindergarten, there was a girl in my class. She had cancer. And I remember they had they sat us down and told us like, hey, this is Brittany. She has cancer. And, you know, because she had a tumor. That's what it was. She had a tumor. And so that's how they expressed it to us. Like she has a tumor. So she's going to be out in and out because of her health. And so Brittany came in when we first met her. I think she had a whole head of hair. I think they had to shave her head because she had a brain tumor.
[00:32:04] And so at some point she came in. She didn't have her same hair. But as kindergartners, all we did was, or at least from my point of view, I don't know about the rest of the people, but we really just like kind of had like a lot of protection over her because of that. Yeah. Because they told us like she's going through a lot. You know, you have to be there for her. And we're five years old, six years old. We don't know. So we're like, all right, whatever. Honestly. Yeah. And I, and I never stopped, honestly. And so I don't think there's anything wrong with, you know, teaching kids empathy, you know, even when it has something to do with their classmates.
[00:32:34] Because like I said, Brittany was in our kindergarten class, but she was in every other grade alongside us too. She ended up being in different classes than us because of, you know, having to like deal with the aftermath of having the brain tumor. But even then, if I saw Brittany in the hallway, that was my friend Brittany that I was in kindergarten with, you know, up until like fifth grade. Uh, and so it was very interesting to see that, like, you know, that you could try to avoid that conversation. But as kids, we would have asked a billion questions had you not just told us what it was. Yeah. And that's good.
[00:33:03] That's kind of where I'm at too. Cause like, we've had other situations as you get older, we're like, I have had teachers like sit our class down to be like, this thing happened or like this person is struggling with this thing. Like whether it's like cancer or like a, uh, like chronic condition or something like that. Maybe like, that's what that means for, that's how, this is how it works. This is how, uh, this is how it might impact our class.
[00:33:32] Like, like what you said, uh, Chappelle, like sometimes she might be in class and some days she might be out of class. Um, so I think there's a way to address it head on, but I don't think that what they did with Barbara here for that episode was wrong, um, was wrong in itself. Um, but I do think it does kind of give kids a little less credit than maybe they deserve.
[00:33:57] Cause I think sometimes you can have those, like you can, you can bring the conversations to their level to give them an understanding of what's going on without pretending that there's nothing, there's nothing different about this person. And I'm not saying like emotionally different, but like, there's nothing different physically because the kids will obviously notice that. Um, I did like it. I did crack up when at the very end, a different kid came in bald so that he could be like Mike.
[00:34:27] Um, that bulls propaganda, you know, continues, but it was, it was still a great one. It was, I loved, I loved this part of the episode. It was very sweet. I want to give that kid a little hug though. It's just like, yeah, I like when they, I like when they asked Barbara, why wasn't she bald? Like Mrs. Howard, why aren't you bald? And she's like, damn, I don't really have a good answer for that. You know, I'm just not. Yeah. Dia, I haven't told you this, but I've been dying to shave my head. Dying. Really?
[00:34:57] I want to do the bald thing so bad. I feel like you need to wait until summer or like spring to do it. I don't think it's a good, I'm not, I'm not anti bald. Right. Like, I don't think it's like, especially like it's hair. Like if you want to shave it and you like, it might grow back. And then if you don't like it, it would grow back. Maybe. But I really, but like, I feel like winter is a terrible time to make that decision.
[00:35:24] Cause you're getting all the breeze right in there. Like, I feel like that is a spring summer, like dude in the spring. So you can start like, it's not, it's not too much of an adjustment. You're kind of in the room temperature stuff. And then by the time it's summer, you're just all about it. But yeah, no, I've been planning my bald reveal for a while now. And so I was very happy about this episode. I'm like, cause I, it's a whole thing though. Like it's, it's their phases to my bald reveal. Yeah. I'm not just going to pop out bald tomorrow.
[00:35:53] Like y'all will know because it's going to be a to do. So I can't wait. Yeah. Um, so Jacob's big storyline, that episode was about the crossing guard, but in episode two, it's really that Melissa is harassing him a little bit. She, uh, she's kind of in her bag in these two episodes because in the first episode, she's dealing with Mrs. Hardaway, the new teacher who basically has the classroom that Melissa wants. Melissa has to go up the stairs. She doesn't like that because she got an injury a while back and she just doesn't want to go up and down those stairs.
[00:36:23] And so she thinks that she can pull a Melissa on Mrs. Hardaway and basically just kind of exploit, exploit the woman a little bit, gaslight her, you know, do all the things in Melissa's toolbox that'll make her get her way. Mrs. Hardaway is not having it. I think we should see a lot more of Mrs. Hardaway in the future because the dynamic between her and Melissa is so good already. I love this actress. This feels like my personal, like, wishlist of actors is coming to life.
[00:36:52] I don't know if you've seen Four Christmases, but it's like my favorite, like, as a child of divorce myself or breakup, you know, like what have you. I love that Christmas movie so much. I find it so, like, so funny and she's in it. So this is what, I love this actress. I'll watch, like, anything that she's in. I saw her in Mike and Molly too when that show was airing. So just have her here. I'm so excited.
[00:37:22] And I'm sorry, I was not team Melissa this episode. Like, I know that's our girl. I will ride with her, but she was wrong here. Like, first of all, it does not make sense to have second graders on a completely different floor with, like, all the middle schoolers. And also, like, I get you want your classroom back. I get that. I get it's like, it's your space. But you're teaching middle school, like, it doesn't make any sense.
[00:37:50] It doesn't make any sense for one middle school class to be on the first floor and one second grade class to be on the second. It's just odd. So, and the, her reason, like, there's no real reason behind it other than she just wants her class back. Like, and the way her tactics for it, like, just literally deciding to try to gaslight her to be like, oh, you said I could have it? Like, girl, what are you doing? You're smarter than that. Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss?
[00:38:20] I thought that was a thing, Gia. I love gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girlbossing. Like, listen, but you got to do it tactically. This was, this was, and you can't, you can't girlboss a fellow girlboss. Like, this is, this is for, you got to do that with the weak. And this was, like, strong on strong violence here. Yeah, they were fighting. And it was like, Melissa, she, she met her match. She really came at her like, okay, this woman doesn't know who I am. Um, she's a cold glass of milk.
[00:38:48] And it's, it's bad because, uh, Mrs. Hardaway was not backing down at all. Melissa really didn't have a lot in her toolbox because she didn't have any way to extort this woman. She's like, I don't have any dirt on her. But wait till we find out what this woman, Mrs. Hardaway's, uh, downfall is going to be. Gasped. Gasped. Gasped. But I was aghast for so many reasons, but I kind of ship it.
[00:39:19] Like. No. I, do you know? No, no, no. Wait, hear me out. Hear me out. Hear me out. She's going to ruin his life. And I need to see that happen. He's awful. You think she is going to become worse because of more. And like, she could beat his ass. I just refuse. I, I think that this, I think this could be good for Morton in that he has something
[00:39:46] in his life, like someone that has a crush on him. But also I feel like she is not going to bet. Like, this is one tough cookie and she can, you know, set Morton straight. Just be like, you know, all your bullshit is not going to fly around these parts. Okay. This is a new year, new academic year. You have new, uh, classroom neighbors now. Um, I don't know what she's going to do to set him, uh, course correct, but I believe in her.
[00:40:16] She's going to run a tight program over there. She runs a tight ship. I refuse. I just, listen, I'm intrigued to see where it goes. And I, I think that like, you know, if, if we are going to seize kind of like an, I, I liked, I like when Morton is like an antagonist for the group, but when it's on like even levels, right? Like, I don't need them to say that like Morton is the worst. Cause we know who he is. Right. Like, I don't like that.
[00:40:43] Like, like he's like pathetic type characterization that they kind of like pull out of him from time to time. I'm ready for it to be like, no, no, no. This woman is here to ruin your life and you're going to be grateful for it by the end of it. But see, I felt like when Melissa saw Morton, she saw the exact opposite. She said, Oh, you thought I couldn't get you. You thought I couldn't get you, but you don't understand what you're asking for. You want to be across from miss you. You want to be by Mr. Morton. Okay. Perfect.
[00:41:12] You, you like him. Perfect. I got the perfect person for you. And that man is a train wreck. He's a disaster. And I think she's going to have her work cut out for him, but I agree with you. It would be way funnier if he, they think that Morton is going to be her downfall. And then, you know, in actuality, she's able to tame him. That's what I want. That's the vision I have. And it's a comedy. Like we should, this is, this is what we should be hoping for. Like I, this is what I want to see happen.
[00:41:41] So I'm manifesting it in the podcast because I think this, like the idea that like she's setting her up to, for failure and it's a completely different outcome than what they expected. I'm excited for this. When Morton and Mrs. Hardaway pull up at the wedding of Janine and Gregory, then what? You know, like then, then what? When they're together at the wedding, what? I know Jacob is about to throw a fit. Oh yeah. Yeah.
[00:42:10] That would, I'm ready to, I'm ready to. So I'm very happy with how that storyline was going, but Melissa is not done quite yet. But she's been giving her kids gum and, or allowing them to chew gum in their class, in her classroom. She has the older kids. So it makes sense. But, but for Jacob, he's like, no, because I don't want them to chew gum in their classroom because they're going to put gum on the desk. And I've made it a rule that that I don't want that to happen. And so I need them to stop being allowed to chew gum in other people's classrooms, including Melissa's. And so he goes to Melissa, tells her, could you stop it?
[00:42:40] But she's getting a kick out of torturing him a little bit. And then we start to see the marital spat between these two roommates slash landlord and, uh, you know, tenant, uh, because it starts off like, oh, they're two friends who are having a disagreement, two colleagues who are having a disagreement. By the end of this, we're borderline at two Christmases, you know, um, we have, we have Jacob sitting on one end. I can say that cause they broke up when I was two. So like everyone's over it now. Yeah. Look, same. Okay. Big same.
[00:43:09] Um, but yeah, I've, look, I've had so many Christmases growing up, but, uh, Jacob was on one end of the table complaining about spaghetti. Melissa's on the other end of the table complaining about Jacob complaining. And in the middle was Jacob's brother just there getting torn between two households. I'm so happy Caleb came back for this episode. This was great. And he's still working at the school too. And still working at the school. I was very happy to see, I was not expecting to see Caleb this early in this season.
[00:43:39] And it was, it was a nice little drop in. And that spaghetti did look delicious. I'm not going to lie to you. I know, I know Melissa, I know Melissa makes some bad ass spaghetti. I know it. I know it in my soul. I'm just saying, I, I think Jacob's being a little ungrateful here for the spaghetti thing. Like, what do you mean to spaghetti again? Spaghetti again? I'm like, that's your minty spaghetti. Probably great. First of all, I know that sauce is banging. Okay. Like, it's the perfect consistency. You don't, it's silky smooth.
[00:44:09] I don't, I don't need to taste it myself. I know. I know. I look at her. I know she makes a damn good sauce. But also like spaghetti is the, like, I'm not craving anything specific. Spaghetti. Put a little cheese on top. A little garnish. You're, you're set. You're good to go. So I, I think he's a little ungrateful here.
[00:44:32] And also this whole argument could have been solved in like the first two minutes, but they just wanted to continue pissing each other off. So here we are. I'm convinced they did this just to piss off Gregory, honestly, because Gregory has got so many other things to worry about. And then instead he's too busy focusing on his two friends that are fighting. He's like, get out of here. Y'all can handle this on your own. Y'all literally live together. So, yeah, easy, easy come, easy go for that one.
[00:44:58] Jacob does also have a little bit overlap with Janine's storyline here because My Abid Life has some listeners. I believe it's up to eight subscribers at this point, which is good for them. Yes, almost at double digits. Yeah, that's our sister podcast. And so we have to acknowledge them. But Courtney has been lying and saying she's in the podcast club when she is not. Janine will go and confront her about lying. And Courtney will continue to lie until Janine notices that she is skipping school.
[00:45:26] What did you think was going on with Courtney here? I was scared it was going to be like she's smoking cigarettes with like high schoolers or something like that. Like she's doing I'm like, oh, my God, she's doing crack. Like I like I literally Chappelle. I cannot explain to you. I went to the worst case scenario like immediately. Like, oh, my God. It's like the wire all over again. Like I was getting flashbacks. It was not good. I was terrified.
[00:45:58] She just needed a little alone time. It's funny how cavalier we are about this, though. If I knew this was an option that I could get away with in eighth grade, I probably would have done the same thing. I hated eighth grade. I'm not going to lie and say I never walked out of school. Okay, because I did. Okay. Yeah, shoot me. Who among us? Okay. He who is without sin. Okay. Yeah.
[00:46:25] I really wanted to be like, damn, that Courtney because Courtney just kind of comes back and Ava handles it. But I was like, dang, y'all really just don't let this eighth grader walk out of school with basically no punishment. And I thought about what I was doing in eighth grade. And I've walked out of school many a time. Many a time. We had a jack-in-the-box within 100 yards of our school. Oh, yeah. Please stop it. I don't even like jack-in-the-box to this day. But back then, oh, I'm going to jack-in-the-box. And I lived in walking distance. I used to walk to school.
[00:46:55] And so I was like, some days just went a little too long for you, boy. That's a lethal combo. Right. What? I could get food and still make it home and then kind of lay low until my mom realized that she needed a security system. You know, then she started to monitor my comings and goings. Right. But before then, I was chilling. But Courtney, yeah, she just needed some time. And she does talk to Janine. Janine tells her about her open-door policies. Not quite open-door, but good enough. And they do kind of bond a little bit.
[00:47:24] Janine's asking Courtney for advice for her room because Janine, in episode one, was spending her time really trying to decorate her room for the students. I like the idea of decorating the room. I think all teachers should be able to do that if they want to. I personally am a minimalist when it comes to decoration in general. If you've been watching this podcast long enough. Yes. Yes. If you've been watching this podcast long enough, you will know that behind me was a taupe wall for a very long time. And then it became a picture. And now it's two pictures. Now it's three pictures.
[00:47:54] That's it. That is it. If you looked around this room, that is all. Yeah. Look, growth. But it takes me a long time to nest. I'll put it like that. Yes. But Janine really going out of her way to make the room, you know, inviting for the students, I think is pretty cool. I, like you said, I'm more of a Gregory where these TikTok shenanigans are not really going to derail my day. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on that. Especially when Janine is decorating the classroom in the jungle theme.
[00:48:18] But having dinosaurs in there as well, the dinosaurs are way more problem than they should have been in these two episodes. I mean, I like dinosaurs. I'm a fan. But I feel like you needed to, like, like, then the dinosaurs are the theme. You know, you don't do the jungle and the, like, that's where you're overdoing it. You're putting too many ideas at once. Yeah. I like, I think I'm more in team Janine for this one in terms of, like, you know, like wanting to go all out.
[00:48:48] But, like, feasibly and thinking about how easily I get tired, I would say probably the thing, like, I probably somewhere in the middle between, like, what I would want to do and what my final product would be. It would be like, okay, we don't need to do, like, the streamers from the ceiling. You know, like, this is one thing we can do without. We don't need to buy dinosaurs. We can just make it a jungle theme. Like, it would be cutting some ideas out as we're going.
[00:49:17] Especially because these kids are bad. Yeah, I said it. I said it. They're bad kids. Your kids, if your kid is tearing down somebody's decoration, that's a bad shot. I'm joking. There are probably no bad kids in people's minds. In my mind, your child is a little too spirited for us to be using the energy that we are using to make this environment inviting to the kids. Because why are you tearing it down on the first day? There are no bad kids, just bad parents. Right.
[00:49:45] So either accept that your child is bad or accept that you're doing a bad job with your good child. Yes. Listen, I get it. Kids are spirited. Kids are very easily distracted, let's say. They're very, like, you see something dangling, you want to touch it. You want to pull it. I get it. But I feel like my, like, just imagining, like, my age going into, like, Janine, what are they, like, first graders?
[00:50:14] Like, they're, like, yeah, like, around that age. Like, they're, like, six and seven. And I feel like at some point you know this. Like, if it's not yours, don't touch it. Like, just, like, the very basic concept of, like, you, like, you see something and someone else is, like, in your teacher's classroom that's dangling. That is not yours. That is not yours to touch. Like, there was just, like, basic rules instilled in me as a kid of, like, do not do that. That is not for you.
[00:50:41] Like, just because it is in front of you does not mean it's yours and that you can just grab whatever you want. Like, so I get the effort Janine has put in. And sometimes, yeah, it may not be fully recognized by parents or students. But I agree with, like, the final idea of it, of, like, this is going to mean so much to the kids when they come and see how, like, pretty their classroom is.
[00:51:09] Maybe edit some of your ideas in the future, though, Janine. Because it's not a bad idea, not a bad concept. But you shouldn't be killing yourself over how your classroom decorations look. Right. And that was some sage wisdom from Mr. Johnson that really empowered her to make those decisions and decorate that classroom. Because, of course, Mr. Johnson would be that wise. And I want to be very clear that when I call y'all's kids bad, I can do that because I was a bad child. I just told y'all I was walking out of eighth grade. I had a ton of silver teeth.
[00:51:38] I am the poster child for bad kids. I know them. I accept them. And y'all should, too. And I can say that your parenting is bad because my parents were excellent. Exactly. So we really have the entire scope of parenting for two people who do not have kids. I was a pleasure in class before I became a terror in high school. So it evens out. Yes. And I was never a pleasure. So Janine had the issue with Courtney.
[00:52:07] She did go to Ava for advice about this. But not before ignoring who I would call one of the unsung heroes of these episodes, Daya. My girl had surgery recently. Why doesn't anybody care? I care. I'm like, no, no, no. Go back in. I need a follow up on Daya's situation here. Yeah, absolutely.
[00:52:27] As somebody at their current job that makes an effort to be friends with all the administrative staff, because I love to yap, right? And no one is better yapping company than the administrative staff. Daya and I would be best friends. That's my truth. I really think that if I worked in this school, I'd be chatting with Daya all the time. Absolutely. I would not be with those kids.
[00:52:56] I would not be with those badass kids. I was so happy to see her back. Yes. Yeah. I was happy. I need more Daya. I saw an edit of Daya recently on TikTok, like a fan cam one. And it was a lot about like the April Fool stuff because we got a lot more of Daya this previous season. Yeah. And quite frankly, it still wasn't enough. I need her.
[00:53:19] If we're getting anybody promoted to like a full-time cast member, I know Tariq is probably or Mr. Morton would probably be the people that are next in line to be like full-time cast members. But that's wrong. It should be Daya. It should be Daya very easily. Yeah. Daya, like I said, one of the unsung heroes of the episodes. But to me, the hero is Ava. Ava's back. And she's got things handled.
[00:53:46] So she knew that Gregory's tactics in the first episode were going to be not well received by the district. He goes in there and they don't even like Gregory. They're like, oh, you're the one that's breaking all these HR rules and we haven't forgot what you did. And she's trying to teach him the ropes. He thinks he knows everything because he got his degree and all that kind of stuff. But ultimately, she's correct. Now, he does end up getting in good with the superintendent. I'm squinting at that because I know educators are really good at telling what you want to hear and then not following up.
[00:54:15] And so I really want to see where that goes. But I guess her shining moment to me in these two episodes was the way she talked to Courtney. She knew better than to go to Courtney and try to massage the idea that her family is going to stay together or that, you know, parents fight. She says, worry about what you can control. Don't stress yourself out. She calls her one of the shining stars of Abbott. And I think we both agree that she is.
[00:54:38] And so for Ava to be, you know, almost like incompetent in season one, she's come so far by the time we've hit season six. She's got O'Shawn. They seem like they're happy. I think, and Ava's been, you know, obviously an S-tier character, but I think all of them are. I think in these two episodes, Ava was my favorite person to watch.
[00:54:58] I think it's really like a accumulation of how much growth we have seen from Ava over these now six seasons, going into six seasons. Now, listen, I know at the very, I know I said at the very beginning of our podcasting careers for Abbott Elementary saying, I want no character growth from Ava. And I still kind of stand by that.
[00:55:27] However, however, it's a little bit, a little bit. However, she's so good at her job and she's a little unconventional. We know that. However, this is why she's the best in the bit. This is why she owns a school because she can level with students one-on-one instead of what I think is more of like the Gregory approach in this situation,
[00:55:52] which is to try to be an authority figure only or someone like Janine who wants to like, like almost be their friend. Like they want to be the person that they feel comfortable talking with by being like on the same level of them. But you're an adult, so that's never going to happen. So this is where like Ava really shines, where she's able to balance those two ideas in here. Yeah, she's the queen.
[00:56:21] I love Ava. I love having her back. We, you and I, we watched this interview. This is for the listeners who haven't, who aren't following Abbott on social media as much as we are. But we watched Janelle James, the character, Ava's actress. And she was talking about how Ava, she actually doesn't relate to Ava as a character at all. And I just think Janelle James is wrong. I think that Ava is a queen and we should really highlight her. Like for her to be like, yeah, you should not be rooting for Ava.
[00:56:50] It's like, absolutely, you're incorrect about the character that you play. I'm sorry. That is wrong. And you know what? Actors can be wrong sometimes. She can be wrong. She's wrong. She's loud and wrong and that's okay. But that's why we have a podcast because we're correct. And we needed to make sure people are aware of where we are in the Ava Coleman debate. And we are pro, which is the only side to be on. That is correct. Exactly.
[00:57:15] Gia, is there anything else you want to add from these two episodes before we come back in about a week to talk about episodes three and four? I'm trying to think. I have, I don't think so. I am very excited to see what season six has in store for us. I have not seen the third episode yet.
[00:57:36] It came out two days ago, but I wanted, I didn't want to confuse the two episodes with the, like that we're talking about with the third episode. So I haven't seen it yet. So I don't know if there's any developments on any of this stuff, but I'm really excited to see more of just like Abbott elementary shenanigans. I can't wait to see more, you know, our favorites, see some of our like recurring staff members come back. I'm excited to see what those journeys are.
[00:58:05] And I'm excited to see if any of our predictions around a proposal and wedding preparations come true in this season. I am cautiously optimistic. Yeah. Yeah. Same. I'm so looking so far ahead of myself. Like we're talking about episodes one and two and I'm already like, okay, but what color are the wedding decorations? You know, like that's, that's where I am. I, I, I literally had this crazy thought. I was like, what if Tariq gives Janine away at the wedding? Boom. Okay.
[00:58:34] But like, first of all, first of all, it's going to be Mr. Johnson or Barbara. It's going to be, if it's Barbara, I'm going to cry. But, but I do think Tariq is going to weasel his way into being in the groom's party. Like, I think Gregory, well, because I feel like I was going to say best man, but then also like, I feel like Jacob will fight him for it. And I don't mean. But that's why he can't have it.
[00:59:03] A fight of words, like physically fight him for it. I think he can't have it. I think Gregory has to plant his flag and be like, I'm sorry, Jacob. It cannot be you because you don't know how to act. But I mean, but Tariq knows how to act. And wait, and honestly, Jacob might end up in, uh, in, uh, the bridal party. Cause, uh, uh, you know, I don't know if he would pick. I know. Gregory over Janine. But like, so Gregory needs more friends. I'm sorry. He does.
[00:59:30] Jacob needs to go where the numbers are going to be leveled out because Janine has Erica. Erica's taking that bridesmaid spot. And Erica is going to make sure that bachelorette party is on point. Yes. She has Ava. Ava is telling her that she is, uh, in the bridal party. Uh, I'm sure Barbara and Melissa are going to be there in some way. And, um, the bear is done. So we are definitely getting Ayo back for this wedding. Um, I don't know if she is aware of that, but that's what's going to happen. We need to text her. Yeah. We got to let her know.
[01:00:00] My close personal friend Ayo will be made aware. Um, and I, I think, uh, Jacob needs to go where the numbers are going to be rounded out. So Jacob, you, and he fought so hard to be Gregory's friend, right? Like kind of against his will. Like Janine, that was an easy, that's an easy one. That's a layup. I'm sorry. Yeah. Like you go where you earned it. I feel like though, Gregory is going to have this come to Jesus moment where he's like,
[01:00:30] oh my God, Tariq is my friend. Like realizes that like, oh my God, wait, this is actually one of my closest friends. Like he, he actually does let him in at some point on the basis of like, oh my God, wait, wait, wait, we are friends. Oh my God. I kind of need it. I need that. So we shall see. Uh, but again, we don't put the carton for the horse too much here. We're only on episodes one and two, uh, tune in next time as we talk about episodes three
[01:00:58] and four of season six. And as we continue the season, Gia, what are you brain blasted? What are you thinking? Okay. I'm sorry. I figured out the episode storyline. Okay. Jacob and Tariq are going to be like going back and forth about who's the best man. Who's going to be the best man. It's Mr. Johnson. Johnson. Mr. I solved it. Mr. Johnson. You did it. You did it. And somehow he's also officiating the wedding. Absolutely. When are we getting our producer credits? We're doing, we're getting our producer credits soon.
[01:01:28] It's got, it's got to happen. These are free ideas for them. Mind you. Free. Yeah. They should listen to us. I can't wait. EP. We need to get something special. There's nothing like that. No. Special thanks to Chappelle and Gia. No further questions. I like it. The official Abbott elementary recap kickback podcast. Uh, Gia, tell everybody where they can find you in the meantime. [01:02:24] But we have one of that, not to spoil anything, but there is something coming up soon that I think we will be recapping. So I'm very excited for that. Um, and if you were not listening to us over the summer, because Abbott elementary isn't around during the summer. We talked about all three movies in the Tyler Perry's. Why did I get married cinematic universe? It was so much fun to do. Even though the second movie made me want to bash my head into a wall.
