In this episode, the hosts break down the intricate web of relationships and power struggles within the "Beauty in Black" universe. From Kimmy's tumultuous journey through the world of strip clubs and human trafficking to the explosive family secrets of the Beauty in Black empire, no stone is left unturned. The conversation is filled with laughter and disbelief as they recount the show's most outrageous moments, including unexpected alliances and shocking betrayals.

[00:00:17] What's up fam? Welcome back again to Recap Kickback. It's me, your host Chappelle, and I am here to take you through another episode of the podcast where we talk about black entertainment news, we talk about the media, talk about movies, we talk about television, we talk about all the good stuff that's black and then I sprinkle in whatever else I want to talk about. And with me, as usual, to talk about what we have been teasing for a couple weeks, our full review of Tyler Perry's Beauty In Black. Mari, welcome back.
[00:00:45] Hey, we're back. Uh, I can't wait to talk about the rest of this. I it's I've been holding it in for like weeks to talk to you about it. So this is about to get. Oh, this is about to get hilarious.
[00:01:00] Yes, every week we normally do the black entertainment news of the week, but we just feel like we need to dedicate a little time to this one because it's gonna be a fun time and we know we're gonna have a lot to say I'm sure.
[00:01:10] We were supposed to be trying to reel in a guest for this one. We've been having some scheduling issues, but we had to break glass in case of an emergency. And, you know, you all said y'all wanted him on. We brought him on. But let's we gotta bring back more. We brought back the Matt Scott. Matt, welcome back.
[00:01:26] Yes, happy to be. I'm really honestly well maybe I'm not happy to be here, but break glass and traumatize my ass. Thank you for having me. You know, I'm always happy to talk with you but like, just legit like Mari texted me on Monday morning and was like, hey, want to talk about a show that you haven't watched at all on Tuesday night?
[00:01:51] I feel like it was Monday night. No, it was it was it was Monday morning for me. So and I said, look, let me just give my Veterans Day tomorrow, like salute the troops and all. And I watched this and I'm traumatized.
[00:02:09] It was so funny. He was like, I probably can't make that but I'm gonna watch the first episode.
[00:02:15] He's watching the first episode. He's like, what is this?
[00:02:19] No, I watched it all. And then I was like, I actually so I watched it all yesterday. And then today I like, right beforehand went back to just like make sure that it wasn't a fever dream.
[00:02:33] So I had it running in the background a little bit just to make sure and I missed a lot. I missed a lot.
[00:02:39] I did too. Like I went back and watched too. And I was like, wait, I did miss some stuff. Yes, Chappelle. It's like, okay.
[00:02:46] Yeah, we'll talk about it. Yeah, well, that makes me feel very good about the conversation that's about to come up.
[00:02:52] If you've all been following us, hopefully you've been checking all the rest of the recap kickback content here.
[00:02:57] Obviously, we have our Black Entertainment News and Media of the Week with me and Mari and our guests every week.

[00:03:10] That ended. We got Abbott Elementary going on right now with Gia as my special guest slash co-host for that podcast.
[00:03:18] And then we got much, much more coming your way too.
[00:03:20] I'm trying to get Tracy J back on the podcast around with Eric from the, yeah, from the AWOL gonna be there podcast.
[00:03:25] I miss my cousins. So we got to get them back as well.
[00:03:28] But we got a lot to talk about when it comes to this.

[00:03:50] Now, if you were paying attention a couple weeks ago, we did episodes one and two.
[00:03:55] And the comments were well received.
[00:03:57] I think a lot of people enjoyed watching this and laughing the same way we did.
[00:04:01] But now we have covered the entire eight episodes of this show.
[00:04:05] And we're about to jump into a full spoiler review of Beauty in Black.
[00:04:11] So if you have not watched it yet and you plan on watching it, tap out.
[00:04:15] But if you have not watched it and you do, you do not plan on watching it, please buckle in because we have a lot to discuss.
[00:04:24] Mari, where do we even begin?
[00:04:26] I don't even know. Maybe let's begin where we ended.
[00:04:30] So if you if you followed our coverage two weeks ago, we talked about we talked about episodes one and two and episodes one and two, which were ridiculous to say the least,
[00:04:40] basically didn't even skim the surface of what was to come because I had literally text Chappelle like we don't even meet the rest of the cast until like episode three, episode four.
[00:04:55] And half the cast that we did meet, I didn't realize they were there until about episode three or episode four.
[00:05:02] So the quickest of recaps for episodes one and two, we meet Kimmy and Rain.
[00:05:09] They're here at the top. Chappelle has the handy dandy cast list for us.
[00:05:13] Can you make him bigger? I don't know.
[00:05:15] I think that's as big as it is.
[00:05:18] But I've been I was I was fiddling with it.
[00:05:20] So let's see if I can make it bigger in the background.
[00:05:22] Why are you talking about my glasses?
[00:05:25] I can't.
[00:05:26] Yeah. So we were introduced to Kimmy, who is the main character.
[00:05:30] She is a stripper along with her friend Rain.
[00:05:33] And we find out that they get they are like basically human trafficked into being strippers at this club by this guy named Jules, the pimp.
[00:05:46] And yes. And in the first two episodes, we're dealing with her friend Rain basically getting a back out back alley butt shots.
[00:05:58] I get old BBL.
[00:05:59] I get old BBL. Yes.
[00:06:03] And a lot of other things.
[00:06:06] Mallory, who is the she's the CEO of Beauty and Black.
[00:06:11] She married into this family ran by the Patriarch Chorus.
[00:06:16] She is married to Roy.
[00:06:19] They do not like each other.
[00:06:21] And that's kind of where it stands at the end of episodes one and two.
[00:06:27] Matt, excuse me, as somebody who just watched episodes one and two and didn't get to talk about it with us, if you can remember like the villain.
[00:06:37] What did you think about like what pulled you in that first episode?
[00:06:40] Like I said, at first you were like, no, I'm not going to come on.
[00:06:43] And then after you watched like one and two, you're like, I don't know what's happening, but I need to talk about this.
[00:06:49] OK, so if I'm being honest, I, you know, I OK, so I'm going to follow me here on the journey.
[00:06:57] So, you know, I love Tiffany New York Pollard.
[00:07:00] Right. I love her.
[00:07:01] I've been watching on House of Villains.
[00:07:03] And I was like, what else could I watch her on right now?
[00:07:07] So I ended up getting Zeus, which was the biggest mistake of my life.
[00:07:14] Why?
[00:07:14] Matt, what are you doing?
[00:07:17] It was the biggest mistake of my life.
[00:07:20] So before I watched this, I was watching Baddies Midwest auditions.
[00:07:27] Sir.
[00:07:28] Which barely have New York in them.
[00:07:30] And it was all these women just beating each other up.
[00:07:33] And I'm like, this is too violent for me.
[00:07:36] Matt, you want to cover Baddies Midwest here on Recap Gameback?
[00:07:39] You want to do a recap?
[00:07:41] Because I got you.
[00:07:42] Let's do it.
[00:07:42] You can never use that new subscription, Matt.
[00:07:44] We can do it together.
[00:07:45] I can do a recap of the auditions.
[00:07:47] I'm not watching past auditions.
[00:07:49] I don't even know what Baddies Midwest is.
[00:07:51] So it was wild.
[00:07:52] But then I was like, wait, Mari needs me.
[00:07:55] And I said, OK, I could do this.
[00:07:58] And it was actually a step up to watch.
[00:08:01] I was about to say, hey!
[00:08:04] And so I think I was just like riding the wave and recovering a little bit from the violent, nasty.
[00:08:13] The number of times the hosts or the judges got their asses beat on Baddies Midwest.
[00:08:19] Matt, come back.
[00:08:21] Come back.
[00:08:22] I need Tyler Perry.
[00:08:24] What did you think about the first two?
[00:08:27] Oh, my point is.
[00:08:30] Amazing.
[00:08:31] It was I was ready for trash.
[00:08:34] And there were some trash things.
[00:08:35] I'm like, why are there?
[00:08:37] Why are they so liberal with their murder threats?
[00:08:39] Why is Rayan out here like, hey, Kimmy, guess what?
[00:08:43] We're always going to be hoes.
[00:08:45] That's all we're going to be.
[00:08:47] We're trash.
[00:08:49] Like, what do we do?
[00:08:52] And then the ass, her ass, her ass, just getting back.
[00:08:56] And it was only the one cheek that was really bleeding out or leaking out.
[00:08:59] And I still don't know what the substance is that was coming out.
[00:09:05] But it was getting on everyone, too.
[00:09:10] And I just have so many questions, but I need them answered.
[00:09:15] And now I'm annoyed.
[00:09:16] I'm annoyed because I watched all eight and I thought that that was going to be it.
[00:09:21] No.
[00:09:23] Well, OK, let's start there.
[00:09:25] That's right.
[00:09:26] There were eight episodes.
[00:09:27] And color me shocked when I found out that.
[00:09:30] Wait a minute.
[00:09:31] There are more episodes coming in 2025.
[00:09:35] 2025.
[00:09:36] There's a season two or a continuation of season one.
[00:09:39] Yeah.
[00:09:41] That is the biggest shock of this entire show for me.
[00:09:43] Because I really thought, OK, how are they about to wrap this up in the last episode?
[00:09:47] And when they don't, I was like, wait, is there another episode?
[00:09:50] No.
[00:09:51] More coming next year.
[00:09:52] I said, we're going to be talking about this for the rest of our lives.
[00:09:54] I don't want to do it.
[00:09:58] I just need to go.
[00:09:59] OK, here's the thing.
[00:10:01] Like, as a kid, you know, I was like, OK, you know, diary of a mad black woman.
[00:10:08] Like, OK.
[00:10:09] And I realized I would everything around me said Tyler Perry is trash.
[00:10:15] So I haven't been keeping up with him.
[00:10:17] And I watched this and I'm immediately thinking, OK, he hates women.
[00:10:22] He hates gay people.
[00:10:23] I think he hates black people, too.
[00:10:25] But he likes to give it.
[00:10:26] It's like a weird, weird relationship.
[00:10:29] But he loves men's asses.
[00:10:31] He loves a lot of that.
[00:10:35] He appreciates some cakes, man.
[00:10:36] I mean, look, by the end of this, I was like, yeah, at this point, I haven't seen everybody's cakes.
[00:10:41] You know, like, OK.
[00:10:42] It was gratuitous.
[00:10:44] A lot of blood.
[00:10:44] I was just like, this is, this is.
[00:10:49] Like, it's just like, kind of like True Blood or any HBO show.
[00:10:53] No, it's like just titties.
[00:10:54] Like, for no reason.
[00:10:56] But True Blood was man ass, too.
[00:10:57] There was definitely a lot of, I've seen too much ass seed.
[00:11:00] You know.
[00:11:01] But you know what I mean.
[00:11:02] Like, that's the equivalent.
[00:11:03] It was just like titties out in a scene where titties didn't need to be out.
[00:11:06] So that's exactly what it was here.
[00:11:08] Just those man ass everywhere.
[00:11:10] Every single time.
[00:11:12] There was a strip club.
[00:11:13] There was a strip club.
[00:11:13] But I will say there were some scenes.
[00:11:16] There's one in particular on my mind where literally the last line is like, you're, he pulls, who, Charles?
[00:11:24] Charles?
[00:11:24] He's like, you're going to come back for this ass.
[00:11:27] And I'm just like, what?
[00:11:28] What?
[00:11:29] You ain't never going to forget that.
[00:11:31] Like, he could have said that without pulling down his pants and showing off his cakes, man.
[00:11:36] Charles, who I've been looking upside his head because it took me forever to learn, to realize that that man from Interview with a Vampire.
[00:11:41] How dare you?
[00:11:42] After the way you acted on that show, you better not get on here and start acting.
[00:11:46] How are you?
[00:11:47] Shame on you, Interview with a Vampire guy.
[00:11:50] Very good.
[00:11:52] But that's what I mean.
[00:11:54] Like, like, it was just so like Charles and Varney.
[00:11:59] Varney is the family lawyer.
[00:12:01] We find out that they're, they're having an like undercover relationship because Varney is not out.
[00:12:07] They're having a whole conversation.
[00:12:09] He's not in the closet, Mari.
[00:12:10] He's not in.
[00:12:11] He's just private.
[00:12:12] He's not in.
[00:12:13] Sorry.
[00:12:13] Okay, whatever.
[00:12:14] My bad.
[00:12:15] But like, they're having a whole conversation in the shower.
[00:12:20] Like, it opens with man butts.
[00:12:22] They're having a conversation with the towels around Varney.
[00:12:26] And then as Charles leaves, he, he, he takes the towel away from Varney.
[00:12:30] So Varney's ass is the last thing we see in this shot.
[00:12:33] And I'm just like, I don't think that was necessary.
[00:12:36] Like, I'm not complaining.
[00:12:38] But still, it's just like, what are we doing here?
[00:12:42] And then that, that, the conversation that Angel and I forget the other dude's name, the other stripper's name.
[00:12:49] They had that whole, Salvo.
[00:12:52] They had their whole conversation in that, the, the male stripper's locker room.
[00:12:57] And there was literally just like, what?
[00:13:01] And to, and to that point, Mari, we spent a lot of time in the women's locker room and we didn't see nearly as much ass in the, in the women's locker room.
[00:13:08] Not at all.
[00:13:09] I was like, so I just find it funny how all the women is always fully dressed in the locker room, but the, the, the diggers is walking around here just caked up, double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon.
[00:13:19] The sun is still shining.
[00:13:22] I'm so confused though.
[00:13:24] Not by the man ass, but like, I know how I feel about that, but I'm confused by like the, Tyler Perry.
[00:13:34] Like, I don't understand.
[00:13:37] Like, I, I had to look him up and go to his Wikipedia and just like, look at the personal life section.
[00:13:45] And I'm wait, what I'm saying though, is like, I'm trying to figure out if he's like, I think he might be really homophobic is what I'm saying.
[00:13:55] You think so? You think like, uh, all this, uh, you know, self-hatred is just leading him to put more, you know, uh, homosexual activity.
[00:14:08] That's not what I said.
[00:14:09] Like, how are you getting, what are you getting from this? Yeah. What are you getting from this?
[00:14:12] I'm just saying like, why is every man in the closet? Why is everyone being shamed?
[00:14:18] Why is it the most homophobic shit I've watched in forever?
[00:14:23] But it's so many gay characters.
[00:14:26] In fact, like every, I mean, you could argue, look, I'm even looking at Roy sideways a little, not even sideways.
[00:14:34] Look at what Tyler Perry did to me.
[00:14:36] I'm looking at Roy though.
[00:14:37] Cause I'm like, oh, like he hates all these women in his life.
[00:14:41] He can't get it up.
[00:14:42] Okay.
[00:14:42] I don't know.
[00:14:43] He called that man a fruitcake in 2024.
[00:14:45] I was like, what are we doing here?
[00:14:48] I know, but I'm just like, I'm so confused because these are characters, but also this man making the show.
[00:14:54] And I don't know what to think about Tyler freaking Perry.
[00:14:59] Other than he's a freak, he's freaky.
[00:15:01] He's a frog.
[00:15:02] Because he was sitting there watching all of these scenes.
[00:15:05] Oh yeah.
[00:15:05] He's in the scenes.
[00:15:06] He's like, uh, you know, we, we, we've talked about the boondocks before here on recap, kickback, Mari, myself and Ty talked about, uh, the boondocks.
[00:15:14] And, uh, they did a number on Tyler Perry.
[00:15:15] They, one of the people, uh, one of the many people who hit them with like the cease and the cease.
[00:15:19] Like, I take that down.
[00:15:20] Uh, where they were basically like, he gonna find the sexiest man that you can find in the world, get them naked and lotion them up, you know, for whatever scenes that he's going to have.
[00:15:29] And, uh, this very much felt like the boondocks, like a call back to some of the things that they were accusing him of Matt.
[00:15:35] Um, because it's a lot, it's a lot.
[00:15:37] So like, yeah, if you appreciate the male form, I think this might be for you or well, Matt, you know, maybe not.
[00:15:43] No, I mean, it's great, but like, why is it so hateful?
[00:15:50] It's so problematic.
[00:15:51] Every single thing that's mentioned.
[00:15:53] So I decided, cause I was really going back and forth here.
[00:15:56] I just decided on this podcast, I will loudly call Tyler Perry homophobic.
[00:16:02] And leave that at that.
[00:16:03] It's fine.
[00:16:04] That's all I know.
[00:16:05] I don't think anybody's going to run to his defense anytime soon.
[00:16:07] And these comments, uh, so I think you're okay.
[00:16:10] Um, but you're right.
[00:16:11] He said the worst stuff.
[00:16:13] Like literally, he said, you let a man climb your back.
[00:16:17] I was like, what are we doing right now?
[00:16:21] Right.
[00:16:22] Um, I'm the guy who is also like in the closet.
[00:16:26] I climb your back.
[00:16:28] That point, that point in the argument, like you're yelling at somebody who is technically on your side.
[00:16:33] Yeah.
[00:16:34] He don't know.
[00:16:35] Uh, no, but like to your point, it reminds me of, it reminds me of Quentin Tarantino.
[00:16:41] You know, it was like every movie he has, he got to say nigga a bunch of times, but like with a hard ER.
[00:16:47] Right.
[00:16:47] And it's like a billion times.
[00:16:49] I remember, I remember thinking it was all too much in Django.
[00:16:52] Right.
[00:16:52] And then I watched hateful eight and I was like, so who told you that you can say this word just so literally because the camera's rolling.
[00:17:00] Right.
[00:17:00] Like, why do you feel like this?
[00:17:01] It's like, are you writing this into the stuff?
[00:17:03] So, so you can say this word because there has to be something else for you to do.
[00:17:07] Right.
[00:17:07] Like there's some, there's other things that you can talk about instead of racial slurs.
[00:17:11] And you're right.
[00:17:12] It feels like Tyler Perry has manufactured this homophobic atmosphere so that you can write into your script all this homophobic stuff to say, you know?
[00:17:19] So I think you have a really good point.
[00:17:21] Yeah.
[00:17:21] Everything, everything is just, it's, you know, I, I would like some characters like they could have their sexual, they could, they could be like queer characters.
[00:17:30] I say this as a queer black man, right?
[00:17:33] Or have queer characters, but like, it doesn't need to be about that.
[00:17:40] But so that's kind of weird to me.
[00:17:42] There was like no acceptance to like, normally there's like, at least like, yeah.
[00:17:48] Everybody hated it.
[00:17:49] Everybody hated it.
[00:17:50] Everybody hated it.
[00:17:51] Yeah.
[00:17:51] Even though in a weird way, everybody didn't hate it because there was a bisexual strip club.
[00:17:56] Which we talked about.
[00:17:57] Yeah.
[00:17:58] Yeah.
[00:17:58] Is that a thing?
[00:18:00] I don't think that's a thing.
[00:18:01] I don't know, but.
[00:18:02] I mean, if we, if we, if none of us know that it's a thing, I don't think it's a thing.
[00:18:06] I don't think we have to actually see it for it to exist.
[00:18:10] Um, I remember.
[00:18:12] Pine tells, like you said, Javel.
[00:18:14] Yeah.
[00:18:14] Like it's, it's a thing.
[00:18:16] I remember, um, back in the day on, um, on HBO, they had like, they would go into these
[00:18:24] different places and there was one where it's like, okay, the men have their side.
[00:18:27] The women have their, and this is literally a thing.
[00:18:30] Tyler Perry has been at the bisexual strip.
[00:18:32] Are you watching real sex, Matt?
[00:18:34] Yeah, probably.
[00:18:34] Real sex?
[00:18:36] Wow.
[00:18:36] Matt.
[00:18:37] I'm not going to say how old I was or anything.
[00:18:39] I was going to say, Matt, they haven't aired that in the millennium, in this millennium.
[00:18:42] So.
[00:18:44] That's not recently.
[00:18:46] I'm just saying it's deeply buried in there.
[00:18:49] Somewhere.
[00:18:50] Um, okay.
[00:18:50] I'm sorry.
[00:18:51] I got a soft, I got a soft track.
[00:18:53] No, no.
[00:18:53] How dare you?
[00:18:54] Before, before we go back to the, to the plot, cause I do have one question.
[00:18:58] Who doesn't Tyler Perry hate?
[00:19:00] Because he hates.
[00:19:01] White people.
[00:19:02] Black women.
[00:19:03] He hates.
[00:19:07] We're, there were no white people.
[00:19:09] I can't, I can't confirm nor deny any of those allegations because there were none in
[00:19:13] this movie.
[00:19:14] But this movie, I would say this movie makes straight black men look kind of awful.
[00:19:18] It makes black women not look great.
[00:19:21] It makes, you know, uh, it's a, it ain't giving a lot of space for homophobia.
[00:19:25] Yeah.
[00:19:26] It's like, maybe he's an equal opportunity hater.
[00:19:28] You know, maybe he's just like, I just want to make content that make you feel something.
[00:19:33] And the way I do that is by creating outrage in all of my films, right?
[00:19:37] From whatever angle you are.
[00:19:38] If you're the mother-in-law, oh yeah.
[00:19:40] The mother-in-law is awful.
[00:19:42] If you're a stripper, strippers are awful.
[00:19:43] You're always going to be hoes.
[00:19:45] You know, if you're a business, a black business owner, you got to be evil and giving the
[00:19:48] women cancer.
[00:19:49] You know, if you're a black man, you can't get it up for your black wife, you know, and
[00:19:52] you hate her because she's evil.
[00:19:54] Y'all cheating, you know, or maybe all of these people are just awful.
[00:19:56] Maybe Tyler Perry made a movie, a show about a bunch of awful people and just said, let
[00:20:02] them cook.
[00:20:04] But that doesn't make it okay.
[00:20:05] Like it's not, because you're right.
[00:20:07] But like, but there's so much butt talk here.
[00:20:11] So much.
[00:20:13] But, but, but, but, comma, but like there's so much hatred where I'm just like, if you
[00:20:20] just give like a little bit of a positive representation, like one character who's normal, who's okay,
[00:20:26] who's good.
[00:20:27] Like that will inspire the next generation of Tyler Perry fans.
[00:20:32] Chappelle, like think of you on the church bus as a kid.
[00:20:35] Like you could have been really motivated by a movie like this if we just had like one
[00:20:40] good character.
[00:20:42] Yeah.
[00:20:43] Yeah.
[00:20:43] I mean, it does.
[00:20:43] It definitely takes something like that.
[00:20:45] Like you have to have like a really like a positive image of like a hero sometimes in some of
[00:20:51] these films.
[00:20:51] And I think Kimmy, Kimmy's obviously our protagonist, but they beat her down so much.
[00:20:56] And literally, like every episode, at least one time she just like gets jumped and she
[00:21:04] never did anything to anybody.
[00:21:08] Kimmy has not done one thing to anybody.
[00:21:12] She hasn't been disrespectful.
[00:21:14] She ain't cussed nobody out.
[00:21:15] She ain't slapped nobody.
[00:21:17] She didn't try to steal nobody's spot on the stripper pole.
[00:21:20] It's like body just woke up and said, she getting on my damn nerves.
[00:21:25] And I'm going to put a stop to this.
[00:21:27] She said, fix it, bitch.
[00:21:28] Cause you the bitch fixer.
[00:21:29] I said, oh, okay.
[00:21:32] And then Jules, like you can't go to hospital to see your motherfucking friend.
[00:21:36] We talked about it.
[00:21:36] It's like, why?
[00:21:39] She ain't getting something to nobody.
[00:21:41] She ain't going nowhere.
[00:21:42] He told her when she had to go to the hospital after getting her butt beat, even though that
[00:21:47] was an excuse.
[00:21:49] He finds her in the hospital.
[00:21:51] He makes her get out, stand in front of an ambulance.
[00:21:54] And he tries to run her over.
[00:21:57] And then he says, the car stops and he says, all these motherfucking safety features and shit.
[00:22:03] I can't kill a motherfucker anymore.
[00:22:05] I can't even kill a motherfucker no more.
[00:22:07] Mind you, he was trying to ram her into the side of an ambulance at full speed in broad
[00:22:15] daylight.
[00:22:17] Who has ever killed somebody like that?
[00:22:20] Show me the person who was executed by like ambulance murder in broad daylight outside of
[00:22:27] a damn hospital.
[00:22:28] Oh my God.
[00:22:28] She wouldn't have even died.
[00:22:32] And that's what he said.
[00:22:33] He said, you'll be all right.
[00:22:35] Okay.
[00:22:37] Oh my God.
[00:22:38] So we can all agree it was absurd.
[00:22:40] Right.
[00:22:40] But let's talk about the plot.
[00:22:42] So there was a plot as we left off.
[00:22:48] And like, as Mari said, we were finding out that Kimmy is a part of a bigger organization
[00:22:53] than she thought.
[00:22:54] Right.
[00:22:55] She's been working for jewels.
[00:22:56] Jewels is her pimp.
[00:22:57] But as this goes on, she's starting to learn that there's other layers to this family business,
[00:23:04] including Horace, who she's been seeing at the strip club, kind of eyeballing Angel.
[00:23:08] I think last time we talked to Mari, we were talking about how he was kind of like, nah,
[00:23:12] get away from me.
[00:23:13] Angel gay.
[00:23:13] And I don't like that.
[00:23:14] That's why I'm looking at him.
[00:23:15] But you know, I don't like it.
[00:23:15] Bring him to my house.
[00:23:16] But I don't like that.
[00:23:17] You know, like he was doing that kind of thing.
[00:23:20] But episode three, he's like, no, bring him over.
[00:23:22] Seriously.
[00:23:22] And, you know, they link up.
[00:23:25] Angel ends up stealing a million dollar watch from this man.
[00:23:29] That is such Tyler Perry writing.
[00:23:32] Like, oh, a million dollar watch.
[00:23:35] What are you talking about?
[00:23:36] I was wondering.
[00:23:37] I was like, I don't even think Rolexes are a million dollars.
[00:23:39] No, a million?
[00:23:41] A million?
[00:23:41] That doesn't make sense.
[00:23:42] Yeah.
[00:23:43] I feel like that was a lot.
[00:23:44] You got a city watch for a million dollars.
[00:23:45] You know, like who was wearing a million dollars on their wrist?
[00:23:48] Peace.
[00:23:49] Yeah.
[00:23:49] The same person who was like, I want a fixed income.
[00:23:52] Okay.
[00:23:54] So, so obviously that's a lie.
[00:23:55] But yeah, that's where we moved to.
[00:23:57] Kimmy is trying to navigate the world where Rain has disappeared.
[00:24:01] She went to the hospital and she can't get to her.
[00:24:03] She's trying to get to her in the hospital.
[00:24:05] So she needs Horace.
[00:24:05] She's like, Horace, I need you to go in there for me.
[00:24:07] If I do this angel thing for you, you go in there and check on my girl.
[00:24:12] But from Kimmy's knowledge, Mari, he doesn't actually ever go check.
[00:24:16] Later on, we'll find out that he does.
[00:24:18] But Kimmy is acting for like four episodes in like, like a spoiled brat in a way.
[00:24:25] Like she won't say what's bothering her.
[00:24:27] Oh my God.
[00:24:28] So annoying.
[00:24:29] He's like, it looks like something's on your mind.
[00:24:31] Nothing.
[00:24:32] Nothing.
[00:24:33] Nothing.
[00:24:34] It's like, what you, what you thinking of?
[00:24:35] Tell me.
[00:24:36] Uh-uh.
[00:24:36] Nothing.
[00:24:37] I ain't saying nothing.
[00:24:38] It's like.
[00:24:38] You already know.
[00:24:40] You already know.
[00:24:41] Whatever.
[00:24:42] What?
[00:24:43] Like, what the, what is happening?
[00:24:45] Just tell them.
[00:24:45] Just tell them.
[00:24:47] Kimmy thinks that Horace is the boss of the strip club.
[00:24:50] She, she knows, she knows that he's Jules' boss, but she doesn't know that he's not the
[00:24:55] boss of this club and the, that the trafficking, but she thinks he is.
[00:25:00] So every interaction after this is just so annoying where she's like, are you trying to
[00:25:06] run a play on me?
[00:25:06] He's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
[00:25:08] She's like, oh yeah.
[00:25:09] You know the back of the club.
[00:25:11] Like, it's just like, she keeps saying stuff like that.
[00:25:13] And he keeps asking her like, what are you talking about?
[00:25:15] And she's like, nothing.
[00:25:17] Never mind.
[00:25:18] Never mind.
[00:25:18] Leave me alone.
[00:25:19] It's fine.
[00:25:20] It's fine.
[00:25:20] I ain't got to talk about it.
[00:25:21] It's like, how about you say it?
[00:25:23] How about you say the words?
[00:25:24] Because this man is leaning on you.
[00:25:25] For four episodes.
[00:25:26] For four episodes.
[00:25:28] She just wouldn't say the words.
[00:25:30] He had to pull a gun on her before.
[00:25:32] She's that afraid.
[00:25:33] She's that afraid for her life that she won't ever just say the words to him.
[00:25:38] So he had to pull a gun on her and be like, tell me what's going on.
[00:25:41] And she's like, you'll choose his boss.
[00:25:44] Which to me is stupid also.
[00:25:46] Because like, she kept saying he had trust in her.
[00:25:50] She had him in his back pocket.
[00:25:52] And instead of being like, you know, oh, I'm working for you.
[00:25:56] Help me.
[00:25:56] She's like, oh no, I'm a sulk over here.
[00:25:59] Like, what?
[00:26:00] What?
[00:26:02] Yeah.
[00:26:02] Oh, and we thought Rain was dead and she wasn't.
[00:26:06] So it was kind of like.
[00:26:07] Yeah.
[00:26:08] Which like, to be fair.
[00:26:09] What did you think about the reveal?
[00:26:11] To be fair.
[00:26:11] Okay.
[00:26:12] First of all.
[00:26:13] Who thought?
[00:26:14] Okay.
[00:26:16] This is wild.
[00:26:18] Kimmy goes into the hospital.
[00:26:20] Rain isn't there.
[00:26:21] And then the woman who's like in the bed, half awake, whatever.
[00:26:26] Is like, oh yeah, she's dead.
[00:26:31] Did they pay this woman to like say that?
[00:26:34] Why did the other patient corroborate the story?
[00:26:38] No, but like, it's not like she didn't even like fact check.
[00:26:41] She didn't go to anyone else and be like, is she dead?
[00:26:45] Where's her body?
[00:26:46] Like, what did she do with it?
[00:26:49] She just left the hospital without asking like any follow-up questions.
[00:26:52] And then later, like episodes later, she's like, okay, I need to find where her body is.
[00:26:58] Like, what are you talking about?
[00:27:02] That is true.
[00:27:03] I forgot it wasn't.
[00:27:04] It wasn't patient.
[00:27:05] I was just like, oh, she died.
[00:27:06] She dead.
[00:27:08] I want another patient know that.
[00:27:10] Yeah.
[00:27:11] Like, I assume the lady was laying next to her and she like, she coded or something, right?
[00:27:14] And so she's like, yeah, she died right next to me.
[00:27:16] But she probably fell asleep.
[00:27:18] And then woke up and was like, ah, another empty bed.
[00:27:21] She must be dead.
[00:27:22] Must be dead.
[00:27:24] So, so yeah.
[00:27:25] So Kimmy's going through, obviously, you know, we find out later on, Rain is not dead.
[00:27:30] She had been moved to a different facility by Horace who had actually been looking out for Kimmy.
[00:27:35] But because the two of them can never have an adult conversation, they just never landed on that.
[00:27:39] Leading up to that, though, Kimmy will go through a series of events that, you know, you just wouldn't wish on nobody.
[00:27:45] First, after her best friend gets put in the hospital for bad ass shots, the woman, the women who did it, T.S. Madison and Bobby show up and they just beat her ass for no reason.
[00:27:58] They just crack her rib casually.
[00:28:00] Yeah.
[00:28:01] They're like, we're going to teach you a lesson.
[00:28:02] She's like, but you don't.
[00:28:03] She didn't do anything.
[00:28:05] And then they're like, OK, we're going to go.
[00:28:06] You know, it was like half a half.
[00:28:09] You know, they didn't even like get enough shots in.
[00:28:11] They could have been a few more ribs.
[00:28:13] Well, and then Kimmy just goes back to work the next day and Bobby like, yeah, I showed you.
[00:28:18] She's like, well, how am I going to make money if you didn't crack my ribs?
[00:28:22] What are we doing here?
[00:28:23] I can't get up on the pole like this.
[00:28:28] To go back to Rain for a second and her in the hospital, there was a scene where Rain is like, you know, she's awake.
[00:28:36] She's talking with Kimmy at first.
[00:28:37] And she's like, look, I've got it's not funny, but it's funny because I'm like, you know, they didn't research it.
[00:28:45] She's like, I have so many blood clots all over the place.
[00:28:51] They're going to my lungs.
[00:28:52] I'm like it.
[00:28:54] I'm not a medical professional, but I think that that's like I think you're kind of done at that point.
[00:29:02] You've never had caulk injected into your mask.
[00:29:06] You know, there's no doctors here.
[00:29:13] Mari, shut up.
[00:29:14] I can't breathe.
[00:29:15] She said there's no doctors here.
[00:29:17] I forgot there were no doctors, right?
[00:29:19] Oh, I got something to say about the doctors later on.
[00:29:22] But yeah, it's a bad look, y'all.
[00:29:24] There's no doctors in the hospital.
[00:29:26] Yeah, Rain made some choices this season, especially when, you know, in the final episode when Kimmy finds out that Rain is still alive.
[00:29:35] Rain says, Kimmy.
[00:29:37] Now, OK, no, let me set the stage for this.
[00:29:39] The strip club has closed.
[00:29:42] It's two o'clock, maybe three o'clock in the morning.
[00:29:45] They go to Horace's side house.
[00:29:48] There's a shootout.
[00:29:49] People are murdered.
[00:29:51] Then they go.
[00:29:52] People are going to dinner at this point.
[00:29:54] It's still three in the morning.
[00:29:55] It's still three in the morning, y'all.
[00:29:57] And for some reason, Kimmy calls.
[00:30:00] She's like, what?
[00:30:01] Kimmy?
[00:30:02] Girl, it's you.
[00:30:02] I thought you was dead.
[00:30:03] No, I'm alive.
[00:30:05] I'm sorry, Rain calls Kimmy.
[00:30:07] I thought you was dead.
[00:30:08] No, no, I'm not dead.
[00:30:10] Come visit me.
[00:30:11] Right now?
[00:30:12] Yes.
[00:30:13] At three in the morning?
[00:30:14] Yes.
[00:30:15] Right this second?
[00:30:16] Yes.
[00:30:17] Even Angel was like, I think this is a trap.
[00:30:19] You know, like, why would she ask us to come here at three o'clock in the morning?
[00:30:22] They get there and do nothing.
[00:30:25] Girl, what's been going on?
[00:30:26] Nothing.
[00:30:27] How's the club been?
[00:30:28] Can't tell you.
[00:30:30] Angel, is she lying?
[00:30:31] I mean, everything's good.
[00:30:32] I feel like y'all lying to me.
[00:30:34] I mean, we good?
[00:30:37] Who did this to you?
[00:30:38] That man moved me.
[00:30:39] Oh.
[00:30:40] Wow.
[00:30:42] Okay.
[00:30:42] Three o'clock in the morning.
[00:30:44] She even asked him.
[00:30:45] Do we have visitation at that time?
[00:30:46] She said, yeah, girl.
[00:30:47] You can tell him I'm here.
[00:30:48] Two or two visiting hours.
[00:30:50] You can't do that.
[00:30:52] Well, they were in that special hospital that that family owned.
[00:30:55] Yeah, the VIP.
[00:30:56] So they were able to do it.
[00:30:57] It was 3 a.m.
[00:30:59] And that was just going to drive me crazy.
[00:31:00] Because simultaneously, across town, at 3 a.m. as well, our guy, Roy, has decided to go meet with Lena.
[00:31:08] So the backstory on Lena is that she is the attorney.
[00:31:11] And.
[00:31:12] Oh, yeah.
[00:31:13] Oh, God.
[00:31:14] Scroll.
[00:31:14] Yeah.
[00:31:15] She is the attorney.
[00:31:16] And she has decided.
[00:31:19] This is her.
[00:31:20] Ashley Versher.
[00:31:22] Shout out to Lena.
[00:31:23] She is going to go after Beauty and Black because they've been giving these women cancer.
[00:31:29] There's protests set up outside.
[00:31:32] And if you didn't believe that there was protests and that this was actually happening,
[00:31:36] you look no further than the woman who brought her cancer-ridden daughter in her cancer garb and said,
[00:31:42] look at my baby.
[00:31:43] She got cancer.
[00:31:44] I brought her here to protest.
[00:31:46] Let that girl go back home.
[00:31:47] Can she go back to chemotherapy?
[00:31:49] Leave cancer out of it.
[00:31:51] Leave cancer out of it.
[00:31:53] Tyler Perry.
[00:31:54] So lazy.
[00:31:55] Like, what?
[00:31:56] Really?
[00:31:57] But then Roy was like, oh, she fake it.
[00:32:00] Yeah.
[00:32:00] Yeah.
[00:32:01] The girl had, like, a cap on.
[00:32:03] And she looked like they had wheeled her out of the hospital into the protest and said,
[00:32:08] look at this baby.
[00:32:09] She got cancer.
[00:32:10] Oh, damn.
[00:32:10] That's true.
[00:32:12] But how can we meet Lena?
[00:32:14] Lena and Roy will eventually talk.
[00:32:16] And we saw Lena earlier in the season.
[00:32:18] She was trying to talk to, uh, she was trying to talk to Mallory.
[00:32:21] She was a process server.
[00:32:22] Yeah.
[00:32:23] She was trying to, yeah.
[00:32:23] She's serving on our own.
[00:32:25] She's a lawyer.
[00:32:25] Right.
[00:32:26] She, which I have questions about because she corners Roy and she's like, Roy, I know that
[00:32:31] you're, I know that you're in charge.
[00:32:33] She tries to really feed his ego.
[00:32:34] Right?
[00:32:35] You're the real brains behind this.
[00:32:36] You need to, you need to talk to me.
[00:32:38] Like throw Mallory under the bus.
[00:32:39] Let's do this.
[00:32:41] Fast forward to our dinner date at 3 a.m.
[00:32:44] He's so drunk that he didn't threw up outside of the liquor store.
[00:32:48] That's how drunk he is.
[00:32:49] He done done so much Coke.
[00:32:50] He goes and meets with her at this restaurant.
[00:32:54] The restaurant's full of people.
[00:32:56] It's 3 a.m.
[00:32:57] Again.
[00:32:57] And for some reason, this lawyer is negotiating with this man.
[00:33:01] She's kind of like, so, you know, what we going to do about this?
[00:33:05] Like, I know you in charge.
[00:33:07] And he's like, yeah.
[00:33:08] And she's like, so what we going to do?
[00:33:09] I'm like, you're the lawyer.
[00:33:10] You have the case.
[00:33:12] You have the proof.
[00:33:12] You don't need him.
[00:33:14] What are you trying to get out of this?
[00:33:17] Yeah.
[00:33:18] He even asked her.
[00:33:19] She was like, she eventually will say it's not about the money.
[00:33:22] And Mallory would tell her, like, everybody who says it's not about the money,
[00:33:24] it's obvious about the money.
[00:33:25] And I was like, it must be about the money, Mari.
[00:33:27] Because otherwise, why not just take these people to court?
[00:33:30] It didn't make sense.
[00:33:32] Like, and then they also try to thread in, like, Lena was like, oh, I remember you.
[00:33:35] But you don't remember me.
[00:33:36] And Roy's like, what?
[00:33:37] And she's like, oh, you don't remember a girl that you screw or something like that.
[00:33:42] Or tried to screw.
[00:33:43] You was after me the whole time you was with Mallory.
[00:33:45] Yeah.
[00:33:45] Yeah.
[00:33:46] In college?
[00:33:46] In college, yeah.
[00:33:47] Which might have been like 30 years ago based on.
[00:33:50] At least 20 years ago.
[00:33:52] Yeah.
[00:33:52] At least 20.
[00:33:53] At least 20.
[00:33:54] Yeah.
[00:33:54] So the whole time they're doing this negotiation, he's just flirting with her badly.
[00:33:59] I don't even know if it's called flirting.
[00:34:01] It's just over-
[00:34:01] Sexual heresy.
[00:34:02] There it is.
[00:34:04] That's what it is.
[00:34:05] That is it.
[00:34:05] And you're right.
[00:34:12] Suing me in black.
[00:34:13] Class-section lawsuits.
[00:34:14] Yeah.
[00:34:15] That have cancer.
[00:34:16] They're suing them for $1.5 billion.
[00:34:19] Like, I don't know.
[00:34:22] So Roy offers her a job.
[00:34:25] And then Mallory comes in.
[00:34:27] And then, like, Mallory offers her a job.
[00:34:29] What happened here, Matt?
[00:34:30] Was this one of the parts you were confused about?
[00:34:33] Matt's got...
[00:34:34] Mallory showed up.
[00:34:36] She's like, Roy, take your drunk ass home.
[00:34:39] He's like, no.
[00:34:40] She's like, you going home?
[00:34:41] He's like, I ain't going home.
[00:34:42] And she's like, yes, you are.
[00:34:43] You going home?
[00:34:45] Oh, you ain't going home?
[00:34:46] Bet.
[00:34:47] She reaches for her phone.
[00:34:48] She does something.
[00:34:49] And I don't know if she sends out an Amber Alert or what.
[00:34:52] But everybody in the bar at 3 o'clock in the morning just leaves, Matt.
[00:34:56] Yeah.
[00:34:58] What?
[00:35:02] I thought I was hallucinating for a second.
[00:35:06] It didn't make any sense.
[00:35:07] And also, why is everyone at the bar that late?
[00:35:11] At a restaurant.
[00:35:12] A restaurant.
[00:35:13] Like, a sit-down restaurant.
[00:35:15] It was people with their families.
[00:35:16] In Chicago.
[00:35:17] At 4 a.m.?
[00:35:19] Yeah.
[00:35:20] No.
[00:35:21] That's not possible.
[00:35:23] I was very...
[00:35:24] You know, I was confused, but I just went past it.
[00:35:26] Because I said, I'm not going to understand what you said.
[00:35:30] She's like...
[00:35:31] Literally.
[00:35:33] They all left.
[00:35:35] She...
[00:35:35] She did the phone.
[00:35:37] Everybody, like, da-da-da, stopped.
[00:35:39] Got up and left.
[00:35:40] Like, I was...
[00:35:41] But it wasn't, like, an effect.
[00:35:43] It was literally just, like, it happened.
[00:35:45] Like, everyone actually left.
[00:35:46] And I feel like, not only did it happen, but I...
[00:35:50] I might be wrong, but I feel like they looked around and they're like, okay, everyone's leaving.
[00:35:54] You know what I mean?
[00:35:55] Right.
[00:35:56] The thing where one person gets up and so everybody get up.
[00:35:59] Like, it happened so fast.
[00:36:01] I started to wonder.
[00:36:01] I was like, are these...
[00:36:02] You know, outside of the film, obviously.
[00:36:04] But are these paid actors?
[00:36:05] I'm trying to figure that out, too.
[00:36:07] Yeah.
[00:36:08] Like, to show her power, almost.
[00:36:10] Because I don't know if there's a text message that we all could get at one time.
[00:36:14] Maybe it was a bomb threat.
[00:36:16] You know?
[00:36:16] Maybe it was something like that.
[00:36:17] Like, you know...
[00:36:18] But I'm not...
[00:36:19] But if it's a bomb threat, I'm not calmly getting up and walking away.
[00:36:23] You know what?
[00:36:24] I'm not staying.
[00:36:26] I'm bashing.
[00:36:27] I know I'm not staying at the table if I'm Lena.
[00:36:30] I'm going.
[00:36:31] I'm like, oh...
[00:36:31] Well, she didn't get the text.
[00:36:32] No, but you go and you follow the crowd whenever...
[00:36:35] Right.
[00:36:35] You follow the crowd.
[00:36:37] Right.
[00:36:38] Especially because this man and his wife are fighting in front of you.
[00:36:41] Like, you could just leave.
[00:36:42] I don't know why Lena's out there.
[00:36:43] She obviously wanted to talk to Mallory, who will go and offer her the same exact job
[00:36:47] that Roy offered her.
[00:36:48] Exactly.
[00:36:49] They want her on the team because she's the one trying to take them down.
[00:36:52] And so we do not get a conclusion to that storyline.
[00:36:56] Obviously, Roy has to go.
[00:36:57] You know, Mallory summons him and gets him taken away.
[00:37:01] What was on that text message?
[00:37:03] I believe it just said there's three people outside.
[00:37:05] Come outside.
[00:37:06] Like, it was something very simple.
[00:37:08] That's what I thought.
[00:37:09] The men are going to come inside and get you if you don't come outside, basically.
[00:37:12] And so he just got up and left.
[00:37:13] I guess he was like, go or I'm going to drag you out of here.
[00:37:16] Why didn't she send that out loud?
[00:37:17] She could have just started with that.
[00:37:18] She could have came in and said, my henchmen are outside.
[00:37:21] They're going to come in here and get you.
[00:37:23] I don't really know how they landed on this course of action.
[00:37:26] It worked.
[00:37:27] But we are finding ourselves at a stalemate right now because it seems like Lena has the
[00:37:31] upper hand, but the people at Beauty and Black are not bending at all.
[00:37:36] There are so many other storylines I want to jump around to.
[00:37:40] So, Mario, pick a person.
[00:37:42] Okay.
[00:37:42] Okay.
[00:37:43] Okay.
[00:37:43] Well, we got to do.
[00:37:48] What's the uncle's name?
[00:37:50] Yeah.
[00:37:50] Let's talk about Beyonce daddy.
[00:37:52] Norman.
[00:37:53] Yes.
[00:37:54] Norman's not in our.
[00:37:55] Ex-daddy.
[00:37:55] Yeah.
[00:37:56] He's not in.
[00:37:57] He's not in our graphic here.
[00:37:59] He's not on the graphic?
[00:38:00] Are you sure?
[00:38:00] He was on the last one.
[00:38:01] I don't see him.
[00:38:02] Really?
[00:38:03] Yeah.
[00:38:03] I don't see him on the graphic.
[00:38:04] Oh, this is a different one than the one you pulled up?
[00:38:06] I thought this was the same one, but then I looked at the picture and said,
[00:38:08] these ain't the same people I looked at last time.
[00:38:09] Uh-oh.
[00:38:10] Oh, maybe.
[00:38:10] Oh, wait.
[00:38:10] There you go.
[00:38:11] There you go.
[00:38:11] There you go.
[00:38:12] There he is.
[00:38:13] Norman.
[00:38:13] There you are.
[00:38:14] All right, Beyonce daddy.
[00:38:15] Now look.
[00:38:16] Ex-daddy.
[00:38:17] Ex-daddy.
[00:38:18] Ex-stepdaddy.
[00:38:19] So, Richard Lawson as Norman.
[00:38:21] He's Horace's brother and he does not, um, he does not trust anybody in his family.
[00:38:27] He somehow has been pushed out.
[00:38:29] Him and his wife, Olivia, played by Debbie Morgan.
[00:38:33] No.
[00:38:34] Uh-uh.
[00:38:35] No?
[00:38:35] Okay, wait.
[00:38:36] Could I?
[00:38:37] Olivia is Horace's.
[00:38:39] Oh, Horace's.
[00:39:08] That's right.
[00:39:09] Our brother and sister.
[00:39:12] And then they're in the hospital talking about fooling around.
[00:39:14] So I'm like, I wouldn't have passed them.
[00:39:17] Horace is his brother.
[00:39:19] Right.
[00:39:20] Horace is his brother.
[00:39:21] And, um, I know we want to talk about Norman here, but I really want to stop down on Olivia.
[00:39:27] Okay.
[00:39:28] Can I do it?
[00:39:28] Can I do it?
[00:39:29] Can I do it?
[00:39:29] Please.
[00:39:30] A little bit.
[00:39:30] Here.
[00:39:30] Okay.
[00:39:31] So let me, let me break down the family tree here.
[00:39:34] Okay.
[00:39:34] So Horace and Norman created Beauty and Black together.
[00:39:39] Horace was the businessman who did all the business marketing.
[00:39:42] Norman was the chemist who made the chemicals.
[00:39:45] A chemist that doesn't know chemicals give you cancer?
[00:39:48] Yeah.
[00:39:49] Exactly.
[00:39:49] Exactly what Horace said.
[00:39:50] A chemist who doesn't know which chemicals give you cancer.
[00:39:53] Lock him up.
[00:39:54] Yes.
[00:39:55] And then Olivia, then Olivia was with Horace, but when Olivia and Horace got divorced, she
[00:40:03] tried to take half of the company, which almost brought the company down, which we know this
[00:40:09] because Mallory was saying that to her assistant Jillian and the middle of saying that she said,
[00:40:15] why the fuck am I telling you this?
[00:40:18] Right.
[00:40:20] And I was like, yeah, why are you?
[00:40:22] She needed us to know.
[00:40:25] Yes.
[00:40:27] And Olivia and Norman previously had messed around together, but it was Norman's wife who
[00:40:32] was hit.
[00:40:34] Who was the, did we, I don't know if we revealed that last week.
[00:40:36] Okay.
[00:40:37] We didn't talk about who it was though.
[00:40:38] Okay.
[00:40:39] So last week, two weeks ago, we talked about how Mallory, not Mallory.
[00:40:44] Yeah.
[00:40:45] No.
[00:40:45] Mallory hit a woman.
[00:40:47] A body.
[00:40:48] Yeah.
[00:40:49] And Roy picked the body up.
[00:40:50] Yeah.
[00:40:51] And then, well, Roy hit the body too.
[00:40:52] Brandon over.
[00:40:53] Yeah.
[00:40:54] Yeah.
[00:40:55] We talked about how the body looked like Pam, the guy.
[00:40:57] Like, in the rain, in the rain, by the way, which I'm like, on the private road that
[00:41:05] we will say 42 times throughout this.
[00:41:07] Private road.
[00:41:07] Throughout the road.
[00:41:09] So that's the name of the street.
[00:41:10] Private road.
[00:41:12] As a side note, because before getting back to you, Mari, I just want to mention, because
[00:41:17] I can't contain myself.
[00:41:18] She was freaking jogging in the middle of the rain.
[00:41:22] On the private road.
[00:41:24] Had to be 2 a.m.
[00:41:26] Stupid.
[00:41:27] Stupid.
[00:41:29] And so we find out it's Norman's wife.
[00:41:31] And Norman is belligerent when he finds out it's his wife.
[00:41:35] He's yelling at everybody.
[00:41:37] He was like, I'll take all y'all motherfuckers down.
[00:41:40] I'm like, how, sir?
[00:41:42] You created the chemical.
[00:41:47] This is your fault.
[00:41:49] How are you going to take us down?
[00:41:51] He is incensed because he wants to know who hit his wife.
[00:41:56] And so he's narrowed it down.
[00:41:57] He says, one of you people in the family is either my brother or it's one of Olivia's
[00:42:02] bastard children.
[00:42:04] I mean, they're not bastards, but that's how he's treating them.
[00:42:07] He's calling them everything under the sun.
[00:42:08] You call one of them a booty bandit.
[00:42:11] Like, this is wild.
[00:42:13] Wild.
[00:42:16] And on top of all of that, the one person he never even looks at is Mallory.
[00:42:21] Not once.
[00:42:22] He asked her 42 times.
[00:42:24] Yeah, but he asked her 42 times, Mallory, was this Horace?
[00:42:29] No.
[00:42:30] Okay.
[00:42:31] Was it Roy?
[00:42:31] No.
[00:42:32] Was it Charles?
[00:42:33] Uh-uh.
[00:42:33] I don't think it was Charles.
[00:42:34] Damn.
[00:42:35] It was one of y'all.
[00:42:36] I'm going to figure it out.
[00:42:37] I was like, come on, Norman.
[00:42:38] You're right.
[00:42:38] You're right there.
[00:42:41] Wow.
[00:42:42] You know what?
[00:42:43] And he's really the problem because if not for his chemicals, like we wouldn't even be
[00:42:48] in this, like these people wouldn't even be as rich as they are.
[00:42:51] Yeah.
[00:42:51] Right.
[00:42:52] He's the problem.
[00:42:53] So they're incredibly rich.
[00:42:56] So he's mad.
[00:42:57] Meanwhile, Olivia is like, I know this man.
[00:43:00] This man is scary.
[00:43:01] We can't be on the wrong side of him.
[00:43:03] Why did it take me two watches to realize that the reason why she was so scared of him
[00:43:07] was because she knew that he was the one who was doing the sex trafficking with Jules.
[00:43:14] Like I knew she knew because she blackmails him with it.
[00:43:18] She's like, stay away from my sons or I'm going to expose that you and Jules have been
[00:43:23] sex trafficking people.
[00:43:25] Dada, dada, dada.
[00:43:26] Dada, but I didn't like, it was just felt, everything felt weird.
[00:43:30] You know what I'm saying?
[00:43:30] Like, you know, like that menacing didn't.
[00:43:35] Okay.
[00:43:36] Yes, she did.
[00:43:36] She goes from person to person.
[00:43:38] It's like, Roy, listen to me.
[00:43:40] Listen to me, Roy.
[00:43:42] Norman is crazy.
[00:43:43] And they're like, shut up, mama.
[00:43:44] And he's like, no, seriously, you got to listen to me.
[00:43:47] I'm not doing it.
[00:43:48] Like, listen to me, David.
[00:43:50] No.
[00:43:50] Okay, I'm going to go find your brother.
[00:43:52] She pulls up.
[00:43:53] She pulls up on dear Charles here.
[00:43:55] And Charles is in his bedroom with these big glass window panes.
[00:44:00] Just getting it in.
[00:44:01] I'm talking about having just, just, just filthy sex.
[00:44:07] And instead of knocking on the door or being like, hey, stop.
[00:44:10] She marches in like, Charles, look at your nasty ass.
[00:44:14] Get out of here.
[00:44:14] And he does not stop having sex.
[00:44:17] That was so weird.
[00:44:20] You, she, she had to push him off like mid-show.
[00:44:23] I don't, I'm not, I don't have a problem with that.
[00:44:26] Cause he was on his substances.
[00:44:28] Like it makes sense.
[00:44:30] But she walked into, she couldn't even like pick up the,
[00:44:33] she saw him in there.
[00:44:36] The booty, the booty cheeks and all.
[00:44:38] And she could have just called.
[00:44:41] She could have just called or ring the bell.
[00:44:43] But did you really have to walk all the way in and physically separate these
[00:44:47] men from making beautiful love?
[00:44:51] No.
[00:44:51] You can, you can hear the separation.
[00:44:54] It's happening.
[00:45:02] Just for her to threaten the guy she was, he was with.
[00:45:05] Like.
[00:45:06] Yeah.
[00:45:06] She called him every nasty name.
[00:45:07] Mama is.
[00:45:09] Yeah.
[00:45:10] She did all of that.
[00:45:11] She did all of that to be like, Charles, Norman's not safe.
[00:45:15] And he's like, okay, mama.
[00:45:16] And he's like, no, he's not safe.
[00:45:17] She's like, okay, mama.
[00:45:18] It's like, are you going to come stay with me?
[00:45:20] I'm not.
[00:45:20] Please come stay with me.
[00:45:21] I'm not.
[00:45:22] Okay.
[00:45:22] Well, will you at least not drive down the private road next time?
[00:45:26] She's like, okay, I guess I won't drive down the private road.
[00:45:29] Norm, you gotta, you gotta listen to me.
[00:45:30] He's crazy.
[00:45:31] I was like, bro, listen to this lady.
[00:45:34] You know, she is trying so hard to stop y'all.
[00:45:36] Just say this.
[00:45:37] Norman and Jules are out here doing dirt.
[00:45:39] Let's, how about you guys protect yourself?
[00:45:41] But her kids are too bitty having sex.
[00:45:43] One of them's having sex.
[00:45:44] The other one is attempting and failing.
[00:45:46] But they're both drugs the entire time.
[00:45:48] So, uh, yeah, the one, the one part we left out is that she's also the church lady of
[00:45:53] the show.
[00:45:55] Because there's a point where Horace tells her, Olivia, shut your ass up and go to church.
[00:45:59] And I was like, hey, she's like, no, that.
[00:46:03] Yeah.
[00:46:04] Oh my God.
[00:46:05] There's so many like branches.
[00:46:07] Just, uh, so many one liners.
[00:46:09] Can we talk about how, like when she approaches Norman, right?
[00:46:13] I was like, uh-oh, a Tyler Perry plot, uh, plot hole.
[00:46:17] Uh, she, she says, I found out that, uh, Jules was, uh, trafficking those women.
[00:46:24] And when you were on the bench, you got them off.
[00:46:26] I was like, bench.
[00:46:28] I like, I had to go through my notes.
[00:46:29] I was like, but he's a chemist.
[00:46:31] I was like, oh, no, in like science stuff, you know?
[00:46:37] No.
[00:46:38] And so, and then so later on.
[00:46:41] To sit on.
[00:46:41] Yes, you do.
[00:46:42] You're talking to a scientist.
[00:46:44] I know.
[00:46:45] But like, but like then later they were like, oh, Norman has a friend on the bench.
[00:46:52] And judge so-and-so, which makes sense.
[00:46:56] But they, this is what happens when only one person reads the script.
[00:47:02] And maybe you don't have a script.
[00:47:04] What's the, what's the name of the people?
[00:47:05] Yes.
[00:47:06] A script supervisor.
[00:47:07] Because she legit, I watched it four times.
[00:47:11] She legit said, when you were on the bench, you made those cases go away.
[00:47:15] You know what?
[00:47:17] And I was like, that don't make sense.
[00:47:19] Cause you cannot be a judge and a guest.
[00:47:21] Wait, I just have a side.
[00:47:22] I have a side comment on a similar note that in episode one, they're giving out a million
[00:47:29] dollar check.
[00:47:30] And at the start, they're like, we're going to give this million dollars to a salon, like
[00:47:35] one salon.
[00:47:36] And then the woman who gets the million walks up and she's like, oh my God, I'm so glad
[00:47:41] I can open my salon.
[00:47:42] And I'm like, what?
[00:47:44] You didn't even have a salon already?
[00:47:46] And you got the million?
[00:47:48] It was a strike type thing, you know?
[00:47:50] Yeah.
[00:47:50] Maybe she can open another branch.
[00:47:53] Yeah.
[00:47:54] Lots of continuity issues.
[00:47:57] The conversation that Mari is talking about with Olivia and Norman is so funny because
[00:48:03] she comes to him and he says, do you think God listens to you after everything that you've
[00:48:09] done?
[00:48:10] And even though I messed around and I broke your heart, you know, we broke her heart.
[00:48:14] Like they're talking about this in front of his like comatose wife.
[00:48:19] And she talks about how she's trying to cover for the kids.
[00:48:22] He's like, oh, you're trying to cover for the kids.
[00:48:23] He says he's trying to get the information out of them.
[00:48:26] But then she has the folder about the operation and the sex trafficking.
[00:48:29] And he said, she said, I can have you locked up for life.
[00:48:32] I came here to be a God fearing woman, but you want me to be the bitch I used to be.
[00:48:37] And I was like, okay.
[00:48:40] And he says, you and those horrible motherfuckers you call kids.
[00:48:44] And she said, they are my horrible motherfuckers.
[00:48:47] Motherfucker.
[00:48:47] That's it.
[00:48:49] And I was just about to say, and why was that the best written scene in the whole show?
[00:48:55] Error and all.
[00:48:57] My motherfucking kids.
[00:48:58] Motherfucker.
[00:48:58] I said, okay.
[00:49:00] Okay.
[00:49:01] I was like, the God fearing woman.
[00:49:03] Okay.
[00:49:03] Yeah.
[00:49:05] Oh my God.
[00:49:06] So much going on here.
[00:49:07] We haven't talked about our background characters enough at all.
[00:49:10] We've mentioned Jillian.
[00:49:11] Hold up.
[00:49:12] Hold up.
[00:49:12] Hold up.
[00:49:12] Before we get to the background character, are we not going to finish Norman's storyline?
[00:49:16] I mean, we got a lot more to talk about with Norman too.
[00:49:19] These all, they all interlock.
[00:49:21] So yeah, go back to Norman.
[00:49:22] That's fine.
[00:49:23] Okay.
[00:49:23] I'm sorry.
[00:49:24] Because.
[00:49:25] No, it's fine.
[00:49:25] Yeah.
[00:49:26] There's a lot.
[00:49:27] So, so we find out like, yes.
[00:49:30] Yes.
[00:49:32] We didn't get to the best part with Norman.
[00:49:35] Exactly.
[00:49:36] So we find out that they're like, oh, his wife is going to be okay.
[00:49:40] And Jules tells Mallory his wife is going to be okay.
[00:49:43] And they're all like, she can't be okay.
[00:49:46] She can't remember anything from that night.
[00:49:49] Call me crazy.
[00:49:51] But even if she survives.
[00:49:53] What's she going to say?
[00:49:54] I got hit by a car.
[00:49:55] She's not going to remember that y'all.
[00:49:58] She is not going to remember that.
[00:50:00] I promise you.
[00:50:02] She's going to wake up from a coma and say, it was a dark rainy night.
[00:50:06] I was running down the private room.
[00:50:07] And all I saw were the headlights of Mallory.
[00:50:11] And she hit me.
[00:50:12] And she left me there for dead.
[00:50:14] And right when I started to get up, Lord, I saw the bright headlights of Roy.
[00:50:19] And he hit me.
[00:50:20] He threw me in a truck.
[00:50:22] And then they put me in another truck.
[00:50:24] And then they took me to a junkyard.
[00:50:28] Which I still don't understand what happened at the junkyard.
[00:50:30] Wait, did she get out of the trunk herself?
[00:50:33] Did she get out of the trunk herself?
[00:50:35] And how do you open the trunk from inside?
[00:50:38] There was a shootout at the junkyard, y'all.
[00:50:39] There was a shootout at the junkyard.
[00:50:40] But we don't know how she got out of the trunk.
[00:50:43] But that's what I'm saying.
[00:50:44] Like, 9 times down to 10, if you ask anybody who's been in a traumatic accident,
[00:50:48] most of the time they do not remember anything surrounding the accident.
[00:50:53] Most of the time, the last thing they remember is from like earlier in the day or the day prior.
[00:50:59] It's also dark and rainy.
[00:51:01] Exactly.
[00:51:03] Twice.
[00:51:03] She does not know what the hell is going on.
[00:51:05] She doesn't know what's going on.
[00:51:07] But Mallory and Mallory are like,
[00:51:08] Jules, you gotta fix this.
[00:51:10] Y'all gotta kill her.
[00:51:12] So Norman's sitting there watching his wife.
[00:51:14] And a nurse walks in, talks to him, plays with her drip, her IV bag.
[00:51:23] Yeah.
[00:51:24] And leaves.
[00:51:26] All of a sudden, his wife starts taking a turn for the worse.
[00:51:30] He's like, Norman is on 10 the whole time.
[00:51:33] Like the whole time.
[00:51:34] No point doesn't come down.
[00:51:35] Yeah.
[00:51:35] He's yelling.
[00:51:36] He's like, what are y'all doing?
[00:51:37] What's going on?
[00:51:38] What's happening to her?
[00:51:39] And they're like, she's coding.
[00:51:40] We gotta help.
[00:51:41] You know?
[00:51:42] And he's like, what's going on?
[00:51:43] She was just okay.
[00:51:44] Y'all said she was just okay.
[00:51:46] Literally.
[00:51:47] Yeah.
[00:51:48] Yelling.
[00:51:48] Yelling.
[00:51:49] Yelling.
[00:51:49] He goes out to the front.
[00:51:51] He's like, where'd that nurse go?
[00:51:52] And they're like, it's only been up.
[00:51:54] With the bun in her hair.
[00:51:56] Where is she?
[00:51:57] And I'm like, I don't remember where she is.
[00:52:00] Like, I don't know.
[00:52:01] This was a plant.
[00:52:03] The nurse is a plant.
[00:52:04] Exactly.
[00:52:05] But the nurse's conversation with Norman was so dry.
[00:52:07] She comes in like, hey, how are you?
[00:52:10] It's like, I'm not doing well.
[00:52:11] That's my baby in there.
[00:52:13] They're like, oh, well, it'll be good.
[00:52:15] I can tell you love her.
[00:52:16] Thank you.
[00:52:17] Yeah.
[00:52:18] You love her a lot.
[00:52:19] After all you do for the hospital, we're going to take good care of her.
[00:52:23] We can tell because you love her.
[00:52:25] It was just so.
[00:52:27] So when he was like, where's the nurse?
[00:52:28] I was like, yeah, where is she?
[00:52:29] Because she stood out to me as like, why is she talking to you like that?
[00:52:33] But she's a plant.
[00:52:34] Nobody knows where she comes from.
[00:52:35] So Norman's like, Norman has to move the body to the separate hospital.
[00:52:40] Because they got a VIP hospital.
[00:52:41] Not the body.
[00:52:41] She's still hanging on a little bit.
[00:52:43] Yeah.
[00:52:43] She's alive.
[00:52:44] But he has to move her to the second hospital.
[00:52:46] And so he brings in his own medical team, his extraction team.
[00:52:51] And the doctor that was working on her is like, who are these people?
[00:52:55] He's like, what are you talking about?
[00:52:56] She said, are you even a doctor?
[00:52:58] He's like, no.
[00:53:00] She's like, where are these doctors coming from?
[00:53:03] He's like, lady, I'm moving.
[00:53:04] I was like, you can't move that.
[00:53:05] He's not a doctor.
[00:53:06] He's like, yes, we get it.
[00:53:07] He's not a doctor.
[00:53:08] We understand this.
[00:53:09] And she's not stable.
[00:53:10] She wasn't stable.
[00:53:11] And she's not stable.
[00:53:11] But they move her anyway.
[00:53:14] And in the ambulance, she dies.
[00:53:18] And when they announced that this woman, time of death, whatever, right this second, Norman
[00:53:23] is like, do you know my brother?
[00:53:25] He said, huh?
[00:53:26] He shoots him.
[00:53:27] Do you know my brother?
[00:53:28] I didn't know where.
[00:53:28] Shoots him.
[00:53:29] Looks at that black lady in her eye and said, do you know my brother?
[00:53:31] She's like, no.
[00:53:32] He shoots her too.
[00:53:34] And just walks out the ambulance.
[00:53:36] Shot like 3 p.m.
[00:53:39] Like, it was broad daylight.
[00:53:40] There were cars driving by.
[00:53:42] Like, I don't know how no one saw the people getting or heard the people getting shot.
[00:53:47] No.
[00:53:48] Just lit them up.
[00:53:49] And then they just sum it up with a little throwaway line.
[00:53:53] Like, I don't know, like 10, 15 minutes later.
[00:53:55] Like, oh, Norman needed a cleanup crew.
[00:53:58] I had to go clean up after him.
[00:53:59] That's what Jewel said.
[00:54:00] Like, yeah, there's no amount of cleaning, y'all.
[00:54:04] Like, the whole last hospital saw.
[00:54:07] Ambulance.
[00:54:07] Ambulance.
[00:54:08] They saw them being moved.
[00:54:12] Some of these people have families, I would assume.
[00:54:14] Like, you can't just shoot people in the middle of a day.
[00:54:17] They got that much money.
[00:54:17] They got that much money more.
[00:54:19] They can make it all go away.
[00:54:20] And they do have people in the hospital.
[00:54:23] Jewel says people in the hospital.
[00:54:24] So.
[00:54:25] Mm-hmm.
[00:54:26] Jewel got people everywhere, apparently.
[00:54:28] But yeah.
[00:54:29] So he goes on this shooting spree.
[00:54:30] And at this point, that's why I'm like, oh, she was right.
[00:54:33] This man is dangerous.
[00:54:35] He's crazy.
[00:54:36] Yeah.
[00:54:36] She tried to warn him.
[00:54:38] There are only so many bullets.
[00:54:40] I mean, he's just shot these people point blank for trying to save his wife.
[00:54:44] They were trying to save his wife's life.
[00:54:46] And he's not.
[00:54:47] And we don't know.
[00:54:48] Like, and he's just started walking off.
[00:54:50] Do we know where he went?
[00:54:51] He showed up at one.
[00:54:52] Did he not?
[00:54:53] He showed up at the car park.
[00:54:55] Like, the next episode.
[00:54:56] Yes.
[00:54:56] His next spot is to go and investigate how this came to be.
[00:55:02] Because from his point of view, his wife got hit by a car on the private road.
[00:55:06] And none of his family who drives down the private road knew this.
[00:55:09] Now, he didn't know that this happened on the private road.
[00:55:10] He was not aware of where it happened.
[00:55:12] Because by the time they found the body, it ended up in a junkyard.
[00:55:16] We saw the body get hit.
[00:55:18] We saw the body get put in the trunk.
[00:55:19] We saw the body go in the house.
[00:55:21] We saw the body go back into the car.
[00:55:23] Yeah, hit twice.
[00:55:23] And then we saw Mallory get pulled over by the cops.
[00:55:26] The cops towed the car.
[00:55:28] And I'm assuming they took the car at that point to the junkyard.
[00:55:32] He goes to the junkyard to interrogate the man at the gate.
[00:55:35] He's like, hey, man, you got to give me, like, information.
[00:55:37] I know.
[00:55:38] Did you see anybody?
[00:55:38] The guy's like, no.
[00:55:39] He's like, you sure?
[00:55:40] No.
[00:55:40] Do you have any footage?
[00:55:41] No.
[00:55:42] They took the footage.
[00:55:43] Okay.
[00:55:46] Oh, that's my brother.
[00:55:47] Oh, okay.
[00:55:48] Cool.
[00:55:49] Zooms in.
[00:55:50] Nope.
[00:55:50] I don't know him.
[00:55:51] Okay.
[00:55:52] No.
[00:55:52] Just my brother.
[00:55:53] Yeah.
[00:55:54] And he's like, okay.
[00:55:55] Well, that's a nice yellow car he got behind him.
[00:55:56] That's his car?
[00:55:57] Yeah.
[00:55:57] That's his car.
[00:55:59] Okay.
[00:55:59] Okay.
[00:56:00] Well, if you can't help me, I guess I'll just go.
[00:56:02] Okay, cool.
[00:56:03] So what he took from that interaction was there's a bright yellow car somewhere around here that
[00:56:07] we might need to pay attention to later on.
[00:56:09] Newsflash, that car belongs to Charles.
[00:56:12] Charles is driving in this bright yellow Lambo.
[00:56:14] And that is the car.
[00:56:16] Which I still don't understand.
[00:56:17] Right.
[00:56:17] And that is the car.
[00:56:18] I'm assuming he picked it up from the brother.
[00:56:20] Maybe Charles was sleeping with the brother because Charles was sleeping with everybody.
[00:56:24] Maybe Charles stole the car.
[00:56:25] I don't really know.
[00:56:26] But he's driving around in this bright yellow Lambo.
[00:56:28] Was his brother black?
[00:56:30] Was his brother the guy that they had to physically separate?
[00:56:36] Oh, no.
[00:56:37] I don't think so.
[00:56:37] I don't think.
[00:56:38] I don't know.
[00:56:38] Okay.
[00:56:38] I don't know.
[00:56:39] I don't know.
[00:56:39] I don't remember.
[00:56:40] I didn't see him good enough.
[00:56:41] Why?
[00:56:41] I really just like, yeah, I don't know.
[00:56:43] But, or maybe Charles is just another guy with another yellow Lambo, right?
[00:56:47] No, they said the guy's name too.
[00:56:49] I don't even know it.
[00:56:50] Yeah.
[00:56:51] But I don't think it was him.
[00:56:52] And he said that he drove that night too.
[00:56:55] He said that the brother drove.
[00:56:56] Yeah.
[00:56:57] He said the brother drove.
[00:56:59] The guy that he was with.
[00:57:01] Sorry.
[00:57:02] The guy that he was with drove that night.
[00:57:04] Yeah.
[00:57:05] So this yellow Lambo is going to be a problem because later on we will see that that is
[00:57:10] Charles' yellow Lambo.
[00:57:11] Like Charles has a yellow Lambo.
[00:57:12] Maybe it's the same car.
[00:57:13] Maybe it's a different car.
[00:57:13] I don't know yet.
[00:57:14] We can't.
[00:57:14] We haven't decided.
[00:57:44] I don't know.
[00:57:44] I have no idea.
[00:57:44] Yeah.
[00:57:45] And so.
[00:57:46] Yeah.
[00:57:46] Yes.
[00:57:47] Because it feels like at this point that Norman sent out his car.
[00:57:51] Yeah.
[00:57:52] Charles assassinated for what's going on here.
[00:57:55] Now, this is all happening on the private road.
[00:57:58] The road that these people own.
[00:57:59] There is a scene where Horace is sitting in the house and he does not know what's going
[00:58:04] on.
[00:58:04] His butler comes to him.
[00:58:05] Sir, there's a fire truck on the private road.
[00:58:08] I says, really?
[00:58:09] I wonder what that's going on.
[00:58:10] What's happening back there?
[00:58:11] I don't know, man.
[00:58:13] Well, would you go and see what it is considering it's our property?
[00:58:16] Sure.
[00:58:17] We get we follow the butler and, you know, the other people to the private road because
[00:58:21] Mallory has pulled up at this point and she's like, is there a body in that car?
[00:58:25] Do we ever get the reveal that Charles is in the car?
[00:58:27] Because I don't think we do.
[00:58:28] I don't think we do.
[00:58:29] I think it's a cliffhanger for next.
[00:58:31] No, no.
[00:58:33] And I feel like somehow he's not in the car.
[00:58:36] Yeah.
[00:58:37] I'm thinking if they're going to make those waves.
[00:58:39] I think it's going to be Salvo or something like that.
[00:58:42] Oh, OK.
[00:58:43] Well, we didn't get any hints at what happened, though, with like who was driving the car.
[00:58:48] But the fact that they're bringing it up like, OK, Tyler Perry.
[00:58:52] But to me, Salvo is a big kid.
[00:58:54] I mean, Charles is a big character, right?
[00:58:56] You don't want to kill Charles off right now because.
[00:58:58] And why would you kill off your only gay character?
[00:59:00] Well, I mean, OK, well, hold on.
[00:59:03] I mean, there are a few.
[00:59:05] Four or five.
[00:59:06] Maybe four.
[00:59:07] TBD on it.
[00:59:08] Yeah.
[00:59:09] Angel just came here to dance for y'all in that seat.
[00:59:11] You know, he makes a point.
[00:59:14] OK, so I will get to Angel on the radio.
[00:59:16] The Charles and Salvo relationship is very fun to talk about as well, because this is just
[00:59:21] a random stripper that Charles wanted to have sex with in the club.
[00:59:25] And that's it.
[00:59:27] No, I think that was the guy.
[00:59:29] Remember, they said Angel said that they were trying to get him to pump his like his dick
[00:59:33] full of.
[00:59:34] No, that wasn't Salvo.
[00:59:36] That wasn't Salvo?
[00:59:37] No, because Salvo.
[00:59:38] Did they have that fake?
[00:59:40] Salvo?
[00:59:40] I saw that, right?
[00:59:41] That was a joke.
[00:59:42] I don't.
[00:59:43] I didn't see.
[00:59:43] I don't.
[00:59:44] I don't know whatever you're alluding to.
[00:59:46] I don't know.
[00:59:46] When they had that conversation in the locker room.
[00:59:50] I don't think it was fake in the universe.
[00:59:52] My eyes were in the northern hemisphere.
[00:59:54] I never even thought of it down there.
[00:59:55] It was so blatant.
[00:59:56] It was just like, I was like, why would you do this?
[00:59:59] That's not a.
[00:59:59] It wasn't a dick print.
[01:00:01] It was just a dick.
[01:00:02] It was just like, it was ridiculous.
[01:00:06] What was fake, Mari?
[01:00:09] Okay, sorry.
[01:00:10] I keep getting this off track.
[01:00:12] Yeah.
[01:00:14] So, yes.
[01:00:15] So Salvo and Charles are having a conversation because, oh, I guess.
[01:00:20] Okay, so now we have to get into the Charles and Bernie relationship.
[01:00:22] I think that's where this starts, right?
[01:00:23] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:00:25] Charles is the rich son.
[01:00:27] I think he's the younger of the two, maybe.
[01:00:29] And he is the out gay son.
[01:00:34] And he is like, their family's ashamed of him, right?
[01:00:37] He's having all this sex.
[01:00:38] He's doing all the coke, all this kind of stuff.
[01:00:40] He's like, just a younger sibling type, you know, living a fast life,
[01:00:43] that kind of thing.
[01:00:44] Not very serious.
[01:00:45] So they're all trying to reel him in and trying to get him to stop being gay.
[01:00:48] You know, that's their kind of thing.
[01:00:49] Their dad is wildly homophobic and also homosexual.
[01:00:52] And so he's got a lot going on.
[01:00:54] He doesn't know that about his dad, but so much to tell him.
[01:00:57] But in the meantime, he is in a relationship with Bernie, the family lawyer,
[01:01:05] the family counsel.
[01:01:07] And so while the family is getting sued and stuff like that,
[01:01:10] you think Bernie's head would be in the game.
[01:01:11] No, no, no.
[01:01:12] He's too busy having a relationship with Charles.
[01:01:14] The problem here is that Charles wants to be out and proud.
[01:01:18] Bernie is not looking to do that in his life.
[01:01:20] He's like, I make too much money not being out,
[01:01:22] so I don't really want to mess that up.
[01:01:24] Go down to Bernie.
[01:01:26] Yeah.
[01:01:26] But what really bothers me about this relationship is that it seems like the crux of their issues
[01:01:30] isn't that he wants to be, that he doesn't want to be out.
[01:01:34] It's that he really doesn't want Charles to go out partying anymore.
[01:01:38] Charles is like, can I go to the club?
[01:01:40] He's like, no, you can't go to the club.
[01:01:41] He's like, but I'm going to the club.
[01:01:43] He's like, don't.
[01:01:44] But I want to.
[01:01:45] No, you just going to be out in the club.
[01:01:48] It's like, well, come with me to the club.
[01:01:49] You know I can't come with you to the club.
[01:01:50] All right, I'm going to the club.
[01:01:52] Fine.
[01:01:53] You can go to the club.
[01:01:54] That's how you're going to be.
[01:01:55] Like, that was their whole fight.
[01:01:57] So eventually Charles goes to the club.
[01:02:00] As Matt has already pointed out, there was a moment where he's like, kiss my ass.
[01:02:03] Also, you coming back for this ass or whatever.
[01:02:05] Yeah.
[01:02:06] He meets Salvo.
[01:02:07] Apparently that Salvo has a prosthesis of some type that Mari is alluding to that I just cannot confirm nor deny.
[01:02:14] I think it was real in the canon of the show, Mari.
[01:02:17] Yeah.
[01:02:18] But I have to believe that Salvo is not the one that they were saying did the BBL for his dick because he was like, Charles, meet me in the bathroom so I can bend you over right now.
[01:02:28] And Charles was not OK with that, Mari.
[01:02:31] I believe he was like, bend me over in the bathroom.
[01:02:33] No, that was wild.
[01:02:35] Yeah.
[01:02:36] You don't just do that.
[01:02:37] Come on.
[01:02:38] No, the person who was going to get the Home Depot supplies injected into their dick.
[01:02:46] I think that was Angel, right?
[01:02:48] Was it Angel?
[01:02:48] And then he didn't get it.
[01:02:49] They were trying to convince Angel to do it.
[01:02:52] Exactly.
[01:02:52] But they said somebody else did it.
[01:02:54] Someone else had actually done it.
[01:02:56] They said he makes a lot of money, but he can't get it up anymore.
[01:03:00] Yeah.
[01:03:00] So I'm assuming Salvo can get it up because, you know, he would have needed to be able to get it up to do what he was trying to do to Charles.
[01:03:07] Remember, Salvo was like, hey, for the money, you know, we can make some shake.
[01:03:10] Like, I think he even like he was like $3,000 is my price.
[01:03:16] And somehow Charles talked him down to $1,500.
[01:03:19] That wasn't much of a negotiation.
[01:03:20] He just said $1,500.
[01:03:22] Like, come on.
[01:03:23] He's like, well, fine.
[01:03:24] I guess I'll sleep with you.
[01:03:26] And Charles said, you would have done it for $300.
[01:03:28] I was like, damn, why are you so cheap?
[01:03:32] So, yeah.
[01:03:33] So is there a world where Salvo is driving a car?
[01:03:35] Sure.
[01:03:36] You know, we saw that him and Charles were supposed to meet up.
[01:03:38] Remember, he was like, come to the crib.
[01:03:40] I don't want you to bring me over in the bathroom.
[01:03:42] Come to my house and we'll handle it there in the bed.
[01:03:45] So there's a world.
[01:03:48] Also, sorry.
[01:03:49] There is some NPC action going on in this whole conversation.
[01:03:53] Did y'all see like when Salvo and Charles are talking?
[01:03:56] Salvo just keeps like getting up, looking, talking to Charles, says Salvo Charles, gets up.
[01:04:03] I missed that.
[01:04:05] Leans in, talks to Charles.
[01:04:06] He did it like so many times.
[01:04:09] I was like, what is happening?
[01:04:11] Who are you looking for?
[01:04:13] What is going on?
[01:04:15] Like, go back and watch.
[01:04:17] I'm telling you, go back and watch that conversation.
[01:04:19] It was ridiculous.
[01:04:25] The clock wasn't hot because, you know, he said that the women, the women patrons of the strip club, they don't like when the stripper be gay.
[01:04:35] You know what I mean?
[01:04:36] Like, they don't run off his regulars.
[01:04:37] So he's like, we got to go do this on the low low.
[01:04:39] So maybe that's why he was looking around.
[01:04:42] But not a good showing for Salvo.
[01:04:44] You know, despite the prosthesis.
[01:04:46] You going to clip it?
[01:04:47] Yeah.
[01:04:47] We might have to put that on the page.
[01:04:49] Yeah.
[01:04:50] Yeah.
[01:04:50] Not a good showing for him.
[01:04:51] But, you know, like he could be a suspect for somebody who could be in that car that blew up.
[01:04:57] Speaking of cars that blew up.
[01:04:59] Let's talk about Angel.
[01:05:01] Angel.
[01:05:02] Angel was the initial person that we saw that was in the sex trafficking who kind of bring in Rain and Kimmy.
[01:05:08] He's going through as well because he really needs some money.
[01:05:11] He's down bad.
[01:05:12] Him and Kimmy are trying to raise enough money for them to buy their freedom from the pimp.
[01:05:16] Right?
[01:05:16] Tell us all the time.
[01:05:17] We don't even know how much these money.
[01:05:19] We know how much money these people owe.
[01:05:20] We just don't know how they got to that amount.
[01:05:22] Jules just made it up.
[01:05:23] He made it up.
[01:05:25] Yeah.
[01:05:27] So Angel's plan is to seduce Horace because they find out Horace probably owns the club.
[01:05:33] He's filthy rich.
[01:05:34] He has the million dollar watch.
[01:05:35] Angel steals the watch.
[01:05:36] Ends up giving it back thanks to Kimmy.
[01:05:39] And then he goes to go dance for Horace.
[01:05:42] Things seemingly were going well.
[01:05:45] And then Horace, you know, suffering from prostate cancer, coughed blood all over Angel's dick.
[01:05:52] Matt, you look disturbed.
[01:06:00] But yeah, I'm disturbed.
[01:06:02] Continue.
[01:06:04] So this was a big moment, right?
[01:06:06] Angel is going through.
[01:06:07] He's obviously very upset because he thinks I can catch something or whatever.
[01:06:12] And while this is happening outside, we hear the sound of Angel's baby mama.
[01:06:21] Well, she calls and she says, hey, where you at?
[01:06:24] He's like, I'm at the such and such.
[01:06:26] She's like, oh, really?
[01:06:27] You're not at the hotel?
[01:06:28] He's like, what?
[01:06:29] At the hotel?
[01:06:29] Yeah, you're in that hotel with that woman.
[01:06:31] Huh?
[01:06:31] What?
[01:06:32] He comes outside and she beats the hell out of his car.
[01:06:35] I'm talking about when he destroys his car.
[01:06:37] Fast forward to the morning after and she blows his car up.
[01:06:40] She just sets it on fire.
[01:06:42] Yeah, she does.
[01:06:42] Well, that's the thing, too.
[01:06:43] Like, he finds a hose because apparently every motel, whatever, hotel, motel, whatever you call it, they have a hose right outside.
[01:06:53] So he puts the fire out.
[01:06:55] But that car could have still exploded with all the gas in there.
[01:07:00] And he just went back into the hotel room.
[01:07:03] Yeah.
[01:07:03] I mean, what else could he do?
[01:07:04] He wants to see his kid get away from the car that might explode.
[01:07:09] Yeah.
[01:07:11] His baby mama is tripping.
[01:07:12] You know, she thinks he's cheating, which I mean, I guess for all intents and purposes, he might as well be right.
[01:07:17] Like, he's a stripper out here.
[01:07:19] Like, we don't know what he's doing.
[01:07:20] He at one point when she burns all his clothes that are in the car.
[01:07:24] He said, do you know what I have to do to get those clothes?
[01:07:26] And I was like, what did you have to do?
[01:07:28] What did you have to do?
[01:07:29] Right.
[01:07:30] Because it's giving hustle and flow.
[01:07:32] You know what I do in the back of them cars, Dre?
[01:07:33] Like, that's exactly what I heard when he said that.
[01:07:36] So Angel's down bad throughout.
[01:07:39] He will be a part of this big scheme to extort money from Horace.
[01:07:44] They end up saying that they're going to kidnap him.
[01:07:46] They're going to take him and then they're going to hold him hostage.
[01:07:49] Just hold him.
[01:07:50] Yeah.
[01:07:50] And just ask him for money.
[01:07:51] So because of this, we will find out that, oh, I guess what happens is they go to Horace's side house because he's got multiple homes.
[01:08:01] And while there, this is when Kimmy finds out that her girl Rain is alive.
[01:08:08] And she's like, wait, what?
[01:08:09] Like, oh, no.
[01:08:11] And then she catches on the surveillance camera that there's another heist about to happen.
[01:08:15] Is this a separate heist?
[01:08:17] Yeah.
[01:08:17] So this is what I'm saying.
[01:08:18] I think Norman, this is Norman's hit squad.
[01:08:20] I think he sent another hit squad.
[01:08:23] Like what?
[01:08:24] But yeah, I don't think that wasn't Angel's people because Angel was surprised too.
[01:08:28] I got the idea watching this that Kimmy and Angel knew.
[01:08:35] And then Kimmy's like, oh, my God, I need to get him out of the house because these are the guys.
[01:08:40] Right.
[01:08:41] I thought they were expecting Angel's people, but that wasn't Angel's people.
[01:08:45] Yeah, they never even showed up.
[01:08:47] Yeah, they didn't show up.
[01:08:48] Yeah.
[01:08:48] Oh, yeah.
[01:08:49] Them strippers.
[01:08:51] And I really want to know why they didn't show up as well.
[01:08:54] Yeah.
[01:08:54] Strippers don't use Google Calendar.
[01:08:57] No.
[01:08:58] No.
[01:08:59] So in that moment, it seems like Morris is down bad.
[01:09:04] Right.
[01:09:04] We got these people popping up.
[01:09:06] They got the guns and they got the guns pointed at them.
[01:09:09] Show us the money.
[01:09:10] They open a safe.
[01:09:11] He gets a safe open.
[01:09:13] And then as he sits down on the chair, it turns out he just keeps an Uzi or something like an assault rifle.
[01:09:20] Just like in the cushion of the.
[01:09:24] So good.
[01:09:25] So smart.
[01:09:27] Yeah.
[01:09:27] You know what?
[01:09:27] You know, he had guns all over that house in different corners.
[01:09:32] That's not a coincidence.
[01:09:34] Especially in the in the cushions of the couch, you know, who they're right now.
[01:09:41] Yeah.
[01:09:42] So he kills everybody.
[01:09:42] So now, of course, they got a few bodies, too.
[01:09:45] You know, and this puts them in a bad spot because one, he now knows that he thinks they're trying to set him up.
[01:09:53] You know, he thinks this is Angel and Kimmy's do it.
[01:09:55] It's not.
[01:09:56] But I mean, we're trying to set him up.
[01:09:58] They do it.
[01:09:58] Yeah.
[01:09:58] I was going to say close enough.
[01:10:00] You know.
[01:10:01] Yeah.
[01:10:02] He nailed it.
[01:10:04] He got it.
[01:10:05] Yeah.
[01:10:05] And she finally tells him about the strip club and the sex trafficking and all that.
[01:10:12] Uh-huh.
[01:10:13] Yeah.
[01:10:13] And so I don't think he really understood.
[01:10:16] No.
[01:10:18] No, I don't think so.
[01:10:25] Oh, don't ask me why this is.
[01:10:27] I just found it in my notes.
[01:10:28] The stripper whose dick can't stand up no more because he got that BBL in his dick is lying.
[01:10:33] Lying, not Salvo.
[01:10:35] Oh, yes.
[01:10:36] Yes, yes, yes.
[01:10:37] I remember that.
[01:10:37] I put it in my notes because I knew it was going to come up in this conversation, for lack of a better word.
[01:10:41] For lack of a better phrase.
[01:10:43] But yeah.
[01:10:44] You don't know what we're talking about when we talk about that.
[01:10:47] Well, I knew that somebody said they got injected and couldn't get their stuff up.
[01:10:50] I don't know what was happening below the waist when it comes to Salvo and his situation.
[01:10:56] You know, I just, I just, there was so much going on, Mario.
[01:10:59] I can't believe, I can't lie.
[01:11:00] Yeah.
[01:11:02] I think, and we, I think the final storyline, just the quickest final one is Calvin and Jillian.
[01:11:08] Calvin, Jillian, and, and, and Mallory.
[01:11:11] And Mallory, technically.
[01:11:13] And Mallory, because we really haven't talked about Mallory enough here.
[01:11:15] Mallory is our big bad.
[01:11:17] We talked about her a lot in the first, the first episode.
[01:11:19] Yeah.
[01:11:20] But she's our big bad in a way.
[01:11:21] Because I think that the one thing that everybody, like the family is feuding, but nobody really
[01:11:27] is coming after Mallory and the family.
[01:11:29] You know, her husband Roy is onto her.
[01:11:31] He knows that she's the one who hit the aunt.
[01:11:34] And I think that.
[01:11:34] He's a fuck up.
[01:11:35] And Jules knows as well.
[01:11:37] But for some reason, again, they're really using Mallory as the face of the company.
[01:11:42] So I don't think they want to throw her into it.
[01:11:43] But Mallory has her own stuff going on.
[01:11:46] And, uh, this is a wild lady.
[01:11:48] This is a wild lady.
[01:11:50] This lady is insane.
[01:11:53] Um, she, she told Jillian.
[01:11:56] She told that woman that she smelled like Jim Crow.
[01:12:00] What does that even mean?
[01:12:03] Wild.
[01:12:04] First of all.
[01:12:05] I don't even think that girl is fully black.
[01:12:07] You are far too light-skinned to be saying somebody smell like Jim Crow.
[01:12:12] Like, it felt racist.
[01:12:14] Right.
[01:12:15] Light on light.
[01:12:16] Violence.
[01:12:16] Whoa, that was racist.
[01:12:18] It was racist.
[01:12:19] It was racist.
[01:12:22] She hates Jillian so much.
[01:12:24] Jillian is her assistant.
[01:12:25] She hates her so much that, like Mallory said, she'll just stop mid-sentence and cuss her out.
[01:12:31] You'll be like, what the hell am I telling you this?
[01:12:32] Oh, she also, she's also sleeping with Jillian's man, uh, Calvin, who is her driver.
[01:12:40] Uh, second watch to figure that out.
[01:12:42] I didn't realize Calvin and Jillian were together.
[01:12:44] Right.
[01:12:45] And, uh, Calvin at first, Calvin is thinking that Jillian's the one stepping out, right?
[01:12:50] Jillian has been cheating or something like that with Roy.
[01:12:53] That's what she thinks.
[01:12:54] She was, though, right?
[01:12:55] Well, I mean, no, she, he can't get it up.
[01:12:58] We didn't see it.
[01:12:59] Right.
[01:13:00] But it never happens.
[01:13:01] She, she then, so he retaliates.
[01:13:04] Uh, and by, by retaliate, I mean, let's Mallory take advantage of him.
[01:13:08] Um, it happens once in the car and Jillian watches.
[01:13:12] She knows, she knows this is going down, but when she gets home, there's nothing she can
[01:13:15] do because Mallory is so powerful that she can't stop this lady from stealing her man
[01:13:20] right in front of her.
[01:13:21] And Calvin, to his credit, he feels a little, he's a little offended because he thinks that
[01:13:25] she's been stepping out and she's known him for Roy.
[01:13:28] So he already not trying to hear it.
[01:13:31] From that moment on, it seems like it's war between Mallory and Jillian and it's one-sided.
[01:13:35] Jillian ain't doing nothing to this woman.
[01:13:37] Every chance Mallory gets, she's like, what are you doing right here?
[01:13:41] Why are you even here?
[01:13:42] Go home.
[01:13:42] What are you doing?
[01:13:43] Get out of my car.
[01:13:44] And she, it was so bad that Jillian sat on the passenger seat of the car one time.
[01:13:48] Um, Mallory got in the car and then got out and walked to the other side and said, I can't
[01:13:52] even sit where you used to sit.
[01:13:54] She walked all the way around just not to sit in the same spot as Jillian.
[01:13:59] And I'm like, that's your personal assistant.
[01:14:01] Like real bold to be that hateful to somebody who handles your schedule.
[01:14:05] Okay.
[01:14:06] Wait, no, I feel like that about everybody in this though.
[01:14:08] I'm like, okay, those are your, like, those are your employees.
[01:14:11] Your employees, those are your ladies making you money and you hate them.
[01:14:17] Like what is going on?
[01:14:18] You can't even put on a nice face.
[01:14:20] What are we doing?
[01:14:21] They need some HR, like company culture training.
[01:14:25] Yeah.
[01:14:26] My biggest issue with Calvin and Mallory's relationship is that Mallory refuses to acknowledge that they're
[01:14:32] having sex despite that them having sex in every episode.
[01:14:36] She just won't acknowledge it.
[01:14:39] He comes in the room every episode.
[01:14:41] What are you doing?
[01:14:42] She's like, what you doing in here?
[01:14:44] Nothing.
[01:14:44] What are you doing in here?
[01:14:46] I'm not leaving.
[01:14:46] You need to get out.
[01:14:47] I'm not leaving.
[01:14:49] Why?
[01:14:50] This is inappropriate.
[01:14:52] Okay.
[01:14:53] But I'm not leaving.
[01:14:55] Why?
[01:14:55] Because you don't want me to leave.
[01:14:57] It is every episode.
[01:14:59] Every sexual interaction they have starts with her being like, get out of my face.
[01:15:03] And him being like, no, you're not.
[01:15:05] And he gets more and more bold.
[01:15:07] Yeah.
[01:15:07] More and more bold to the point where at some point they're having sex
[01:15:10] in the elevator.
[01:15:13] And then the next, look, the last scene we saw of them, they were having sex in the
[01:15:16] elevator.
[01:15:17] The next episode starts and he's in her bedroom like, so.
[01:15:23] What did you think about last time?
[01:15:25] She's like, last time what?
[01:15:26] When we had sex?
[01:15:27] She's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
[01:15:28] Like, you just, all y'all do is have sex.
[01:15:31] Stop talking like this.
[01:15:32] That's their whole little cat and mouse game, Mario.
[01:15:35] It's weird.
[01:15:35] It's weird as hell.
[01:15:37] And it will lead her to exposing herself a little bit because she's been so hellbent
[01:15:42] on finding out who is the whore that Roy is sleeping with that she's trying to fight
[01:15:48] with Roy to take his phone.
[01:15:50] They going back and forth in the car and she's kicking him with his feet, with her feet.
[01:15:54] And he says, wait a minute.
[01:15:57] You ain't got no panties on.
[01:15:59] You ain't got no drawers on, Mallory.
[01:16:01] She said, I forgot to put them on.
[01:16:03] He said, in all my life that I know you, you ain't never forgot to put your drawers on.
[01:16:12] So she's busted, Mario.
[01:16:13] She's out here having nothing there.
[01:16:15] Yeah.
[01:16:16] I mean.
[01:16:19] In her defense.
[01:16:19] I mean.
[01:16:21] I know.
[01:16:22] In her defense.
[01:16:25] Like, that's a big leap to get to.
[01:16:28] Yeah, it's weird.
[01:16:29] Is it?
[01:16:31] I don't, like.
[01:16:32] I forgot my panties.
[01:16:34] Did you forget your shoes?
[01:16:35] Like, shoot.
[01:16:38] And he's all like, you like it.
[01:16:39] You like it when I do this.
[01:16:40] I'm like, this is, I hate this.
[01:16:42] Like, this is so stupid.
[01:16:43] Like, again, Matt, do we have to read, like, consent, employee power?
[01:16:48] I think we do.
[01:16:49] Like, actually.
[01:16:50] We should have did a table read.
[01:16:52] I should have pulled up the script and we did a theme from the.
[01:16:56] Oh.
[01:16:56] I was thinking of that.
[01:16:58] What scene was I thinking of that?
[01:17:00] Oh, I'm so.
[01:17:01] Oh, the main scene.
[01:17:03] The one with.
[01:17:04] No, the one with.
[01:17:05] The big one at the end of episode three, at the beginning of episode four, where they're
[01:17:09] all in the office.
[01:17:10] Oh, no.
[01:17:11] I hate that so much.
[01:17:12] It's so uncomfortable.
[01:17:14] It is.
[01:17:14] Wait.
[01:17:15] Yeah.
[01:17:15] I knew you were going to say that.
[01:17:17] Wait, which episode?
[01:17:18] The boy.
[01:17:19] Room one.
[01:17:20] The boardroom.
[01:17:20] Episode three and four.
[01:17:21] Okay.
[01:17:22] Three into four.
[01:17:23] Three into four.
[01:17:24] Yep, yep, yep.
[01:17:24] I'm like, okay.
[01:17:25] Because y'all, if I pull it up real quick.
[01:17:29] Will y'all do the.
[01:17:30] You gotta hurry up.
[01:17:31] We can end this.
[01:17:31] Look.
[01:17:32] Listen.
[01:17:32] You can read it at the table.
[01:17:34] We've covered.
[01:17:35] We've covered most of this, right?
[01:17:37] So.
[01:17:37] You covered it all.
[01:17:38] That's pretty much.
[01:17:39] That's pretty much the show so far.
[01:17:40] Yeah.
[01:17:40] We do get the cliffhanger.
[01:17:41] We don't know who's in the car.
[01:17:43] We don't know what's about to happen with Kimmy.
[01:17:46] Well, Kimmy and Bodhi were fighting.
[01:17:48] So.
[01:17:49] Yeah.
[01:17:49] We haven't talked about Bodhi okay.
[01:17:51] The big cliffhanger.
[01:17:52] I love Bodhi.
[01:17:52] The big cliffhanger of the season.
[01:17:56] Is that Bodhi tells Kimmy, hey, by the way, you think you're going to replace me?
[01:18:01] Oh, fuck.
[01:18:02] I think I found your replacement.
[01:18:04] And she's a 16-year-old girl.
[01:18:07] And Kimmy says, that's against the law.
[01:18:09] And Bodhi says, bitch, everything here is against the law.
[01:18:12] Oh, my God.
[01:18:17] Wild.
[01:18:18] She didn't say that.
[01:18:20] Bitch, everything we talked to the law.
[01:18:23] And they all laughed.
[01:18:24] They all did.
[01:18:26] You were right.
[01:18:27] You were right.
[01:18:28] You wanted something.
[01:18:29] And so she's just dangling that 16-year-old.
[01:18:33] Right.
[01:18:34] In front of her.
[01:18:35] Come to find out.
[01:18:36] Who was the 16-year-old?
[01:18:38] The 16-year-old is none other than Kimmy's little sister.
[01:18:42] They have kidnapped her.
[01:18:44] And they ain't nothing about to sex traffic her right in front of her face.
[01:18:48] And so Kimmy, rightfully so, finally decides to defend herself.
[01:18:53] And she attacks Bodhi.
[01:18:54] Bodhi beat the brakes off of her again.
[01:18:56] Yeah.
[01:18:57] It wasn't even a close fight.
[01:19:00] But she got in the car.
[01:19:02] And the last thing we see before it fades to black is her driving towards body.
[01:19:08] Yeah.
[01:19:09] Hitting her.
[01:19:10] She hit her.
[01:19:10] Did she actually hit her?
[01:19:11] Okay.
[01:19:12] She didn't.
[01:19:12] Because she doesn't have the safety features.
[01:19:14] She doesn't have the safety features.
[01:19:16] And it's not broad daylight.
[01:19:17] There's not an ambulance there.
[01:19:18] So, yeah.
[01:19:18] She gets her.
[01:19:20] So now Kimmy didn't call the body, too.
[01:19:22] Literally.
[01:19:22] Well, we don't know.
[01:19:23] Because then it hit her.
[01:19:25] And then it went.
[01:19:26] Yeah.
[01:19:26] Beauty and black.
[01:19:27] I mean, she's not dead.
[01:19:29] She's sandwiched.
[01:19:31] Okay.
[01:19:32] Well.
[01:19:32] I mean.
[01:19:33] Definitely broken legs.
[01:19:33] I'm assuming she's dead.
[01:19:36] Well.
[01:19:36] We have to assume, right?
[01:19:37] But we'd have to wait until November.
[01:19:39] Wait.
[01:19:40] What is it?
[01:19:40] 2025?
[01:19:42] Yeah.
[01:19:42] Whichever much we don't know.
[01:19:44] Mm-hmm.
[01:19:45] So that means Matt has to come back.
[01:19:47] I'm not.
[01:19:49] Absolutely.
[01:19:49] You have to come back.
[01:19:50] You're not.
[01:19:51] It is a required viewing.
[01:19:52] At this point, Matt.
[01:19:53] You have to come back.
[01:19:53] Yeah, I know.
[01:19:53] Talk to us about this.
[01:19:55] I know.
[01:19:56] I have recommended beauty in black.
[01:19:58] To like three or four people.
[01:20:00] Because I told them it's so funny.
[01:20:02] And it's not supposed to be.
[01:20:05] Oh.
[01:20:06] Oh, my God.
[01:20:07] Yeah.
[01:20:08] Like, no.
[01:20:09] We.
[01:20:10] Just like going through it.
[01:20:12] We mentioned body.
[01:20:13] Got body.
[01:20:13] Body is a mess.
[01:20:15] You know.
[01:20:15] Body is a mess.
[01:20:16] Body is a mess.
[01:20:16] And I did see some people online.
[01:20:19] Calling her Aubrey O'Day.
[01:20:21] Which I'm like.
[01:20:22] It checks out.
[01:20:23] It looks like her.
[01:20:24] I love her weird accent, too.
[01:20:27] I don't know what that accent is.
[01:20:28] Which I don't want to know.
[01:20:29] I don't even want to know.
[01:20:30] And then Monique.
[01:20:32] And then Monique was the year in the.
[01:20:34] What's this?
[01:20:35] Not Monique.
[01:20:36] That's not Monique.
[01:20:37] That's not Monique.
[01:20:38] That's the Linda.
[01:20:39] That's the Linda.
[01:20:40] The Linda is Ursula O. Robinson.
[01:20:42] No.
[01:20:43] They would have casted Monique for that role.
[01:20:45] That's exactly what you're going to say.
[01:20:46] Ursula O. Robinson.
[01:20:48] Yeah.
[01:20:48] I know exactly.
[01:20:48] What you said.
[01:20:49] Fix that bitch.
[01:20:50] Because you're the bitch fixer.
[01:20:52] I screamed.
[01:20:52] I screamed.
[01:20:54] Yeah.
[01:20:55] They wanted Monique.
[01:20:56] They had Monique at home.
[01:20:57] You know.
[01:20:58] This is what they had.
[01:20:59] You know.
[01:21:00] Look.
[01:21:01] I will give a shout out to the cast.
[01:21:03] Because I know.
[01:21:04] That they were.
[01:21:05] Like, I've seen these people in other things.
[01:21:07] So I know they can act.
[01:21:07] I won't even.
[01:21:08] I won't go in and say these people.
[01:21:09] They can't act.
[01:21:11] But I know they were out here doing the Lord's work.
[01:21:13] I know that they were probably giving like an outline of some type of script.
[01:21:16] And then they were told to make it work.
[01:21:17] You know.
[01:21:18] You can tell.
[01:21:18] Because there's so much dialogue that leads to nothing.
[01:21:21] There's so much just talking in circles.
[01:21:24] Leave.
[01:21:24] No.
[01:21:25] I don't say leave.
[01:21:26] No.
[01:21:27] So you're not going to leave.
[01:21:28] You know.
[01:21:28] There's so much of that.
[01:21:30] But if you whittle all that out.
[01:21:33] And if you.
[01:21:34] If you really step back.
[01:21:36] And you're splitting time your head.
[01:21:37] What?
[01:21:38] It just enjoyed the entertainment.
[01:21:40] Matt.
[01:21:41] If you tell me this is a soap opera.
[01:21:42] I have no issues with this.
[01:21:44] Oh, yeah.
[01:21:44] Yeah.
[01:21:45] Yeah.
[01:21:45] No.
[01:21:45] It's definitely a soap opera.
[01:21:47] And I.
[01:21:48] Okay.
[01:21:49] I had this.
[01:21:49] I had this thought.
[01:21:51] Because I felt insane after watching this.
[01:21:54] I looked.
[01:21:54] I just looked up reviews.
[01:21:56] And all of the people who watch all of the Tyler Perry movies were like.
[01:21:59] It's so great.
[01:22:00] It's so great.
[01:22:01] We didn't have like the Bible verse.
[01:22:03] We had.
[01:22:04] It was just different.
[01:22:05] Right?
[01:22:06] But this is actually insane.
[01:22:09] Yeah.
[01:22:10] It is.
[01:22:10] This is the most insane thing I've watched in.
[01:22:13] Ever.
[01:22:13] But I also think.
[01:22:14] It's the type of thing where like.
[01:22:15] When you get used to Tyler Perry.
[01:22:17] Like if you're watching pro wrestling.
[01:22:18] And you get used to it.
[01:22:20] Then you forget how insane it is.
[01:22:21] I feel like it's a similar thing.
[01:22:23] Like.
[01:22:24] Tyler Perry.
[01:22:25] He does a good job normalizing his insanity.
[01:22:27] And.
[01:22:28] I love that for him.
[01:22:29] Like somebody.
[01:22:30] We know.
[01:22:32] Um.
[01:22:33] I agree.
[01:22:33] Like we said it on that first episode.
[01:22:36] It's just like.
[01:22:37] The.
[01:22:38] There's no tension.
[01:22:39] There's no tension.
[01:22:40] Because people are just constantly yelling at each other.
[01:22:42] They're.
[01:22:43] Constantly yelling.
[01:22:44] The emotions are constantly high.
[01:22:46] There's no.
[01:22:48] Because it's.
[01:22:49] Always up here.
[01:22:50] There's just no level.
[01:22:51] So it just.
[01:22:53] Is.
[01:22:53] Just.
[01:22:54] Over the top.
[01:22:54] It's just over dramatic.
[01:22:56] And if you're not looking for anything smart.
[01:22:59] It is so funny.
[01:23:01] It is just so interesting to watch.
[01:23:03] But.
[01:23:03] It is better than baddies Midwest.
[01:23:07] Well.
[01:23:08] That bar feels.
[01:23:09] Very low.
[01:23:11] To me.
[01:23:12] The bar feels just.
[01:23:14] You know.
[01:23:14] Like I think.
[01:23:15] Okay.
[01:23:16] So we've been very critical of Tyler Perry here on Recap Kickback for sure.
[01:23:20] One thing I will say is that.
[01:23:22] Every TV show does not have to be prestige TV.
[01:23:24] No.
[01:23:25] Everything does not.
[01:23:26] Right.
[01:23:26] There's a space in this world for.
[01:23:29] Campy soap operas.
[01:23:31] If you're telling me that's what this is.
[01:23:32] I think this is exactly.
[01:23:34] What you wanted to do.
[01:23:35] This is giving the bold and the beautiful.
[01:23:36] It's giving passions.
[01:23:37] You know.
[01:23:38] It's just.
[01:23:39] A thing where.
[01:23:40] Every day.
[01:23:41] Something wild and fantastical.
[01:23:42] Was happening to a group of people that are awful.
[01:23:44] You know.
[01:23:45] General Hospital was basically a mom story.
[01:23:48] Right.
[01:23:48] Like.
[01:23:49] You know.
[01:23:49] Like these things happen.
[01:23:50] A family that's running like.
[01:23:52] You know.
[01:23:52] Some industry.
[01:23:53] These things happen.
[01:23:54] I think that we.
[01:23:55] Black people.
[01:23:56] We hold up.
[01:23:56] Tyler Perry.
[01:23:57] Like.
[01:23:57] We say.
[01:23:58] Hey.
[01:23:58] You have this massive platform.
[01:23:59] You have.
[01:24:00] So you have this responsibility to give us good quality.
[01:24:03] And Tyler Perry said.
[01:24:04] No.
[01:24:04] I'm going to just give you what I want to give you.
[01:24:06] And some.
[01:24:06] They said.
[01:24:07] Absolutely not.
[01:24:08] And so.
[01:24:09] Quality.
[01:24:09] For me.
[01:24:10] For me.
[01:24:10] I don't mind it.
[01:24:12] Because as long as I'm entertained.
[01:24:13] I don't care.
[01:24:14] Because it just gave us an hour and 20 minutes.
[01:24:17] Of content to talk about.
[01:24:18] And laugh about on podcast.
[01:24:19] You cannot tell me.
[01:24:20] The three of us.
[01:24:21] Did not have a blast today.
[01:24:23] Okay.
[01:24:24] Hilarious.
[01:24:25] It's true.
[01:24:26] I'm so glad this worked out.
[01:24:27] It's damn true.
[01:24:29] So if you were able.
[01:24:30] If you're listening to this.
[01:24:31] And you were able to follow what the hell was going on.
[01:24:33] Leave us a comment.
[01:24:34] And let us know.
[01:24:34] That you thought that was insane.
[01:24:36] That you're going to go check it out.
[01:24:37] That you did check it out.
[01:24:38] But from what I can tell.
[01:24:39] The people who went in with an open mind.
[01:24:41] And said.
[01:24:41] Look.
[01:24:42] I'm not looking for the next Sopranos.
[01:24:44] The next The Wire.
[01:24:45] The next.
[01:24:47] Breaking Bad.
[01:24:48] I don't want to look.
[01:24:50] I don't want to go in here and laugh.
[01:24:51] I don't want to have a good time.
[01:24:52] I feel like this was a good time.
[01:24:53] Despite all the things we said.
[01:24:55] I cannot recommend this enough for people.
[01:24:58] I want everybody to go.
[01:24:59] So we can laugh at this together.
[01:25:01] As a family.
[01:25:01] You know.
[01:25:02] Let's enjoy the comedy.
[01:25:03] So.
[01:25:04] Thank you all for listening.
[01:25:05] For sure.
[01:25:06] I hope.
[01:25:07] That we didn't run you off.
[01:25:08] With all our laughter.
[01:25:09] Because we had a blast here.
[01:25:11] And thank you Matt.
[01:25:12] For joining us.
[01:25:14] Oh my god.
[01:25:15] How dare you.
[01:25:16] I'm going to be.
[01:25:17] You know what.
[01:25:18] I'm really.
[01:25:18] I'm glad.
[01:25:19] I'm happy to be here.
[01:25:20] Who am I kidding.
[01:25:21] Because.
[01:25:22] The thing is.
[01:25:22] If I watched that.
[01:25:23] And didn't have anyone to talk about it with.
[01:25:26] In depth.
[01:25:26] Then what would I be doing.
[01:25:28] Right.
[01:25:28] I'm just thankful to be here.
[01:25:30] This.
[01:25:30] This was a good time.
[01:25:32] And we'll have to do it again.
[01:25:34] In like six months.
[01:25:35] When.
[01:25:36] Woo.
[01:25:37] When part two comes out.
[01:25:38] And that better be the last part.
[01:25:40] Yeah.
[01:25:40] We might have to do it weekly.
[01:25:41] When part two drops.
[01:25:42] Never mind.
[01:25:42] We'll talk about it.
[01:25:43] No.
[01:25:43] Don't do that.
[01:25:44] Matt Scott.
[01:25:45] Tell everybody.
[01:25:47] Where they can find you.
[01:25:48] Until next year.
[01:25:49] When you.
[01:25:49] When we come back.
[01:25:50] To talk about.
[01:25:50] Beauty and Black.
[01:25:51] Part.
[01:25:52] Matt Scott GW.
[01:25:54] On the various platforms.
[01:25:56] Including Blue Sky.
[01:25:58] Look.
[01:25:58] I don't.
[01:25:58] I'm trying not to tell people.
[01:26:00] About Blue Sky.
[01:26:00] Like that though.
[01:26:01] Right.
[01:26:01] Because I don't want everybody.
[01:26:02] People to go over to.
[01:26:03] It's starting to happen.
[01:26:05] So.
[01:26:06] Follow there.
[01:26:08] Show some love.
[01:26:09] What was it?

[01:26:18] They gotta fix that.
[01:26:19] It's too long.
[01:26:20] That's really the one.
[01:26:21] That's the big thing I want to plug.
[01:26:22] Also check out.
[01:26:23] I stand.
[01:26:24] Survivor.
[01:26:24] Kageon.

[01:26:27] I stand.
[01:26:27] Kageon's over on the Rob.

[01:26:36] We laughed.
[01:26:37] We cried.
[01:26:38] Chappelle's in it.
[01:26:39] It's amazing.
[01:26:41] So.
[01:26:41] Check that out.
[01:26:42] And Tyler Perry.
[01:26:43] Tyler Perry.
[01:26:44] Is a topic of discussion.
[01:26:46] I'm just saying.
[01:26:47] Oh yeah.

[01:27:24] What just dropped.
[01:27:25] Was Serial Killer Capital.
[01:27:27] Los Angeles.
[01:27:29] It was such a hard watch.
[01:27:31] It's a documentary.
[01:27:33] Where at one point.
[01:27:34] There was four serial killers.
[01:27:36] Operating in South Central Los Angeles.
[01:27:38] In the late 80s.
[01:27:40] Early 90s.
[01:27:42] And the documentary documents.
[01:27:43] How the police.
[01:27:44] Was able to.
[01:27:47] Delineate the cases.
[01:27:49] And find the killers.
[01:27:50] Unfortunately.
[01:27:52] All four of those serial killers.
[01:27:53] Were black men.
[01:27:54] And all of those victims.
[01:27:56] Were black women.
[01:27:57] And so it was a lot.
[01:27:58] To talk about.
[01:28:00] Last week.
[01:28:02] So.
[01:28:03] Yeah.
[01:28:04] It was a very interesting.
[01:28:06] Interesting discussion.
[01:28:08] About a property that.
[01:28:10] Was.
[01:28:10] By and large.
[01:28:12] Pretty good.
[01:28:13] It had its flaws.
[01:28:14] The timing.
[01:28:15] Was just.
[01:28:16] Absolutely wrong.
[01:28:17] But.
