[00:00:21] Hey, what's up fam? And woo! We did it. We did it. We made it through another one. Beauty in Black Season 3 is done. We did it. We did it for y'all. I guess in a way we did it for us. But it's me, your host Chappelle, and we're back here on Recap Kickback to talk about the full season of Beauty in Black, which should be the last season of Beauty in Black, but as we know, it has been renewed for Season 4.
[00:00:44] And so we will talk about the things leading up to Season 4 and much, much more here with this esteemed panel. As usual, talking about her favorite show, we had to go back to the Mari 4th. Mari, welcome back. My favorite show? This is Matt Scott's favorite show. Can you not do that to me? I'm going to pull up the receipt. No, that's so disrespectful.
[00:01:07] Yes, we made it through. Barely. Just like all these other characters, this franchise will not die. So we are here. Yeah. We had some questionable moments toward the end where we do have to question the mortality of some of these people. Are they going to make it to Season 4? We can't discuss that without our Beauty in Black expert, Matt Scott. Matt, welcome back.
[00:01:34] I hope they're all dead. I'm so pissed and annoyed. And we'll talk about the moment that really pissed me off and just got me out of it. Because like, yeah, sometimes I really do crave Beauty in Black. I'm like Roy in the jail cell. Just like, really? Give it to me. Give it to me. I need it. I need it. But like right now, I'm so over it. But we're on the journey.
[00:01:58] And I might have to, I shouldn't probably say this on the podcast, but like, I might have to show up to Tyler Perry Studios in person just to end this because this isn't okay. I don't like it. You're coming in like, shut it down. Shut it down. That's all I'll say. Yeah. Yeah. Bring the ninjas. So, okay. We have to talk about the ninjas and much, much more.
[00:02:26] But first, before we do that, Mari and I recently started watching the season of, I'm going to get this right, the drop colon, a snowfall saga on our podcast here. And so every week, if you want to follow our content or snowfall from the original seasons that we used to talk about on Postal Recaps, on The Connect as well, we're now talking about it here on Recap Kickback.
[00:02:51] And so if you like the original snowfall and you didn't get to catch our content, catch us this time because we will be talking about it. Hopefully we can bring in some guests. We're looking at you, Latonya, wherever you are, whenever you're ready, come on through and come join us on the journey to talk about snowfall. Because the premiere of this new series was very good. And we're very excited to talk about that and more. Right, Mari? Yes. We had such a fun time breaking down the premiere episode.
[00:03:19] We are so excited for the rest of the season. So make sure you are subscribed to Recap Kickback so you can follow us along with this journey. Yeah. That journey, totally different than the one we have in here on Beauty and Black. It's just the vibe, the quality. It's just apples and Mack trucks. Yeah. Don't you dare call me for snowfall.
[00:03:45] I know you were thinking about it, but I need to recover between now and season four. Oh, well, you know. Which will be in two weeks. We don't know when it's going to be, but it'll only take a weekend to film for sure. Okay. So that said, overall, Beauty and Black season three, to me, is probably the best constructed season of Beauty and Black, of all of them.
[00:04:12] They've kind of gotten away from the let's repeat the same line 800 times. Like, I've always felt like they were trying to improvise in those first couple seasons. It does feel like maybe they've gotten a little rhythm on the improvisation or something. So I will give it that for sure. But it's still not. It didn't work for me, y'all. Season three was not for me. It just, it wasn't. Like, I liked season one in a way because it was so bad.
[00:04:42] It was wacky. And it was like, oh, yeah, it was fun to talk about and make fun of. But I feel like we lost some of the magic, Matt. I feel like, like, maybe, I don't know. I feel like they spent so much time on certain storylines. Yeah. It lost the camp. Also, just a reminder, like, we are, let's forget what they call the seasons for a second. Like, we're kind of on the fifth season right now with season three because it was like eight episodes, eight episodes, eight episodes, eight episodes, eight episodes. So that's a whole mess.
[00:05:12] And then we don't even get, like, a second half of season three, which, like, I'm glad. Let's just get this over with. But I agree. It was fun. It was funny. It was campy. It was like, you had a lot of tropes in there, too. I just feel like it gets, it's taking itself too seriously right now. And I think Tyler started to see dollar signs. Like, he didn't think it was going to go anywhere.
[00:05:38] But now he's seeing money and he's seeing we're hooked and it's never going to end. It will never end. Oh, well, let's hope. It'll probably end up after season four if we're lucky. But it might not ever end. And I will say, I can see what you're saying, Chappelle. Like, the structure was better, but it was boring. It was the most boring series out of the three, I would believe. The most boring season out of the three.
[00:06:07] Again, maybe it's because something was happening every 24 minutes in the first two seasons, literally. Yeah. And technically, I think I was keeping count, Matt. This season happened in a span of two days, I believe. Yeah. I believe it was. Yeah. Like, from like a Wednesday night to Thursday morning. We're not even at the weekend. To a Friday night. Yeah. No, it's, look, I'm with you though, Mari.
[00:06:35] Like, that idea of it being boring is funny because they do throw a lot of stuff in. But I feel like this season, okay, first of all, you have like half the Bellery family in jail. And you know they're going to get out somehow. They do a lot of teases of people being killed. Oh my God. Too many. Which is really interesting. I'm like, die. And you're like, you are not going to die. We know you're not going to die. None of you are going to die. Like, that's the whole series.
[00:07:01] They don't want to kill anyone off so that maybe Tyler could like write a story before the next season comes up. But like, I just think it gets really boring and annoying when you're trying to sort through, okay, who is this? Okay, like, what's the FBI agent? But then who's this cop? But is the cop good or bad? But then there's like two cops that works with Jules. But like, are they, like, which one's the evil one and the good one? And like, I don't care about those characters.
[00:07:28] Like, I want Kimmy and Rain in the dumps. I want them in the trash. I want them struggling. I want them being kidnapped. I want them fighting for their lives because that's the show that we know and love. We don't like to see them with money. Give us our money. And give us... I think that was kind of it, too. Bring back Felicia, too. Bring back Felicia. Yeah. That was what it was kind of it, too. Like, I think also what lit this to be not that good, it was so dialogue-heavy. Yeah.
[00:07:59] Not the strong suit. Not the strong suit. And the poor decision-making just across the board was just like, is anybody going to make a decent decision? Like, Rain just not paying off that goon lady. Like, pay the goon lady off. It's not her money. Just pay her. Why are you trying to act all big and bad? This lady looks scary. Like, she was fine. But she looked scary. I was just like... Gina. Gina. You know any Gina.
[00:08:29] Any Gina you know. We stan Gina's on this podcast. Yeah. Yes, we do. And this one scared the pants off of me. So I don't understand why Rain thought that she could just walk into this club, say, y'all can keep y'all money, tip the house, which is, again, bad business practice. You should at least have a percentage of the intake. I'm looking at 20% to cover the overhead. But that's just me.
[00:08:53] And then, for to not know what's going on in the background, and this lady's like, we use this club for, I'm assuming, if it felt like a money laundering type deal. Sure. I don't know what it was. They don't know either. And for Rain to be like, yeah, my office. Rain is lucky that that lady only came back in the finale. You know what I'm saying? Rain, because she came in the first premiere. And we never saw her again. Two days. Two days.
[00:09:23] Two days. She had to make a plan. No, I mean, it's, yeah, it's frustrating. Plus, I also just wonder, like, there were so many moments where, let's say, I don't know, like, Mallory thought that she killed somebody. We'll talk about it in a little bit. But, like, why not just take another shot? You know what I'm saying? Like, we could just really put the nail in the coffin. But why are we leaving everyone alive? Even going back to episode one with Alex and that other bodyguard guy. Traxton.
[00:09:53] Traxton. Why didn't you kill him? Just a little step up. I thought he was at least hurt a little bit. When he popped up in the second episode, he was fine. No bruises, no bumps, no head wounds. No. I almost thought he was Jules for a second because he kind of, him and Jules kind of favor each other. So it took me two seconds to realize that was Traxton. And he got his butt beat in the elevator. But he acted like ain't nothing happened. If I were on the show, I would kill everyone.
[00:10:23] I don't even care. At least they showed that getting patched up, I guess. It was less than 24 hours. And this man is already back in the streets. Like, you just got stabbed. So, you know, I think you make a really good point though, Mari. It feels like the show is taking itself seriously in a way that I can't really relate to because it kind of turned into a soap opera. And not in a good way. You know, I think the first couple seasons felt like a bad drama.
[00:10:52] You know, like, oh, they're doing a drama, but they're doing it poorly. Whatever. We're here for the ride. Now it feels like, no, this is something that should be taken seriously, but it also doesn't make any sense. And so the people aren't dying. The people, time is not a thing. Relationships are forming that don't have any type of backing to them. I cannot wait to talk about Varney and Charles. I cannot wait to talk about Kimmy and Horace. You know, and then they're going in and trying to fill in the blanks later on.
[00:11:17] You know, it's like, for instance, we think that Kimmy is in love with Horace because he puts it down. And then we find out all the women fall in love with Horace because he puts it down. He's got a special set of skills. And, you know, this is his story of his whole life. And then Kimmy's kind of like, wait, no, that's not why. I love you because you saved me. You're the first guy who's ever been nice to me in real life. And I was like, oh, okay. Well, we spent the whole episode with Horace being like, yeah, you like that, don't you? They all do. And get away from me. Get away from me.
[00:11:45] You better not fall in love with me, bitch. It's like, why? Why are we spending so much time on these storylines? That do not matter. Unless Kimmy plans on, I don't know, killing Horace at some point to be the queen of this empire by herself. I don't really understand why we're talking about Kimmy's unrequited love with this man who clearly has no interest in her, Mari. And why doesn't he have any interest in her? Like, that was like kind of annoying to me because, you know, the premiere, I was like, oh, I'm eating this up.
[00:12:15] I'm like, oh, maybe I'm getting a little bit of a love story. Yeah. And then for Kimmy to be like throwing herself at him and he'd be like, oh, get out of my bed. It's crazy work. You know what I'm saying? It's like we couldn't have even gotten two seconds of like, Kimmy, we probably shouldn't do this. Right. Mixing business with pleasure. No, it's oh, you just like this skill set that I put up on you.
[00:12:39] And and and like and then but he's also kind of weird about his his relationship with Angel. He don't know what he wants. Yeah. It was like I really felt like, well, in the hands of a very capable writer, I think exploring Horace is like conflicting desires about maybe being bisexual or something. That's so old. No one needs that either.
[00:13:08] But it could have still been at least more decent than I'm gonna have sex with you to prove a point. So you don't think I'm I'm no bitch. But now I don't want to be with you. And where's Angel? But also don't touch me. Like, I don't like what are we doing? I feel like where we are with season three is that it is I wouldn't even call it a reset. But it just puts us in this place where everything ends up being really neutral.
[00:13:37] Like at the end of the season, anyone can be dead. Any and all of them can be dead, actually. Which would be a great season for in heaven and or hell, mostly in hell. But that'd be a great setting for it. But also it's like the ambiguity around the relationship that Horace has with these people and his sexuality. We could go in any direction. I just feel like Tyler opened up maybe every single pathway for like anything to happen.
[00:14:05] And I don't know if that's because he has no idea what to do with the final season, which I'm assuming season four is the final season. Because season three was supposed to be the final season. I mean, he thought this was supposed to be the final season and this was the ending to it. But who knows if this would have been it or if it would have been like maybe it would have been a second half of season three. Because that's also weird to me that they just decided to not do eight more episodes in season three.
[00:14:33] Yeah, this definitely I feel like they changed the ending up because, yeah, we know that they're going to get another season. And, yeah, we got left with a lot of cliffhangers. But I agree, Matt. It just feels like they took us through this journey and then changed the way we look at all these characters. They're all acting different. Rain is now Delinda, basically. Yeah. For no real reason. Except I guess she just had a lot of money. Charles and Varney are in a relationship. Varney is in love with Charles.
[00:15:02] Now, somebody explain this to me. Explain this to me. Because. How do you explain? What do you mean? Because Charles. Varney's doll. Charles almost dead. Like when the person that you think that you're in love with is almost dead. All you kind of get that reckoning of like, you know what? Stop the bullshit. Stop. Let's stop playing games. We're in love type thing. I think that's what it was. I hear you from the Varney perspective. But Charles. Charles. This man just saved your life.
[00:15:32] And all you like, you better not have that bitch over there with her name in your phone. Charles. Charles. Charles. The people are going to kill you. The people are going to kill you. You're going to go to jail. Or the people are going to kill you. And you're like, okay. But I need to delete that bitch number out your phone. All right. All right, bro. It's what they say, though. Like men will do anything but go to therapy. Like Charles needs to go to therapy. That's all. And you're right. That is the opposite of what Charles was acting like when we first met him.
[00:16:01] Because remember, it was Varney who wanted the relationship. And Charles was like, I'm good. I like fucking strippers. You know what? And he's still acting like he doesn't want the relationship. At no point is he like, thank you, Varney. You saved my life. I love you too. Blah, blah, blah. He kind of like, so you going to pay that money? But no one said it. Like, it doesn't need to be a relationship. Because at the end of the day. Yeah, they didn't have to be a couple. He doesn't even want to like get it. Get that 11 and 12 inches. Like, he doesn't even want that. Like, what are we doing?
[00:16:32] Varney forced this man into a relationship, Mari. He was like, so I have this money. You want it? Are you going to go to jail? He said, okay, you going to tell my dad we're dating? Oh, no, we're together. And that was it. Under the rest. I don't think so. I think it's just Charles being Charles. Like, Charles is still like a little annoying shit. He's not going to do anything willingly. But he wants to do it. I think he's like, it's like, fine, daddy, I guess.
[00:17:00] But you better get rid of that other bitch. Like, when he pulled up. When Evan pulled up to get them from getting the bodies. He made him get out of the driver's seat? He's like, let's go. Like, y'all got bodies. The body part. Like, let's get in the car. Get in the car. And Charles is like, give me that. I'm like, we have bigger things. He kicked the driver out of the driver's seat. And then didn't even drive. He got in the passenger seat. Yeah. Our move.
[00:17:30] He's just being petty. I appreciate that. He is, but it's like, it's too much. It was how he shows love, clearly. That's how. Okay, but it's so. Think about it. Even with him and Mallory, the sarcasticness. Like, that's just how he shows it. Mallory wanted that man dead. Yeah. That's what I'm going to say. Like, if that's love, like, what are we talking about? Season two. I was thinking about season two. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. That's long gone. That's long gone. You want to know who made a transformation?
[00:18:00] Mallory. Who the hell is this woman? No, don't get me wrong. She's still got that same, like, I'm going to talk shit. Mallory was kind of vibe. But now she's kind of like Maleficent. Like, no matter what you say to her, she's going to talk shit. It doesn't matter what the sentence is. She's like, she said, you're going to drive me or not? Oh, yeah. I got you, Ms. Bell. What? Oh, okay. Ms. Bellary. Okay. Yeah. Why are you walking behind me? Because you told me to follow you. Yeah. Walk in front of me. And don't touch me. Now shut my door. Now open my door. I was like, this is too much. That makes sense to me.
[00:18:30] That made sense to me because I feel like we all know those people where it's like, they're just going through it. And again, like, they need a good cry. And she hasn't had a good cry. That's really just like a nice shoulder. Someone who's going to pat her on the back or maybe give her a little kiss on the forehead or something or a hug. But like, she needs help. And that's why she's going off, like similar to Charles, except that's Charles' life. I hear you.
[00:18:54] But I just feel like if this is the same Maleficent woman at the beginning, how do her and Kimmy end up on the same page? And now they tag team champions of the world. Somebody explain. I'm sorry, y'all. It's not making sense. She spent the first two seasons, like pretty much trying to kill Kimmy. And now they're looking at each other like, you know what? You're not so bad. You're not so bad either. Where? When? When did that happen? But let me defend it. Let me defend it.
[00:19:24] You've been through as much as these people have been through. You really just change. You never know. Like, you never, less than that. You never know what life is going to do to you in a week and a half. Not even a week and a half. I'm just saying I don't know what my life would be like if I had been through everything she'd been through. Like, she finds out her husband's cheating on her. She's, wait, let's go even further back.
[00:19:49] There's the woman who was trying to sue the company for cancer and causing cancer, which I don't even know what happened to that story. Yeah, the lawyer lady. She's probably like on vacation for a week and then we'll hear from her in the next season. Tyler completely forgot about that plot line. The weird, the weird behavior kind of makes sense to me from that standpoint. Mari, am I tripping? No, you're not tripping. It is.
[00:20:19] But I mean, last season they did sow the seeds for this. Like, Mallory finally understood that Kimmy did not want to be with Roy. Remember, they had that heart to heart and he was like, bitch, I was trafficked. I was forced into sex slavery with your husband. I did not want to be with him. And then she and then it was able. So Mallory was then to put her focus on Felicia because Felicia and Roy were throwing it in her face and they worked together to bring down the rest of the family.
[00:20:47] So it's not out of the realm that they are teaming up here. And honestly, again, a lot of these relationship dynamics are all so flawed and unrootable that they kind of come out being the rooting interest. Even though, again, to me, Mallory is the funniest person when she's not being a complete bitch to people. Yeah. But that's hard because she's being a complete bitch to people like 80% of the time. You know what I'm saying?
[00:21:17] Like, when she's not just being a bitch to be a bitch, the other 20% of like sarcastic like quit Mallory is actually hilarious. Like, she said, nigga, you got Bibles back here. Right. That's funny. That is actually funny. So it's just weird. It is weird. But I do think he set enough of the scenery for it to make sense. But I also don't think like, OK, just to look at like a really condensed point in time
[00:21:45] between when she shoots Norman and then she ends up at the club dancing up on stage. Well, first of all, I don't even know the order of operations. Like, was she trying to sleep with that guy in the back like before or after she got up on stage and was dancing up on the stage? Before. Before. But it's just this thing where if you just look at that condensed point in time, it is so manic and out there.
[00:22:13] And I think that's just what the character is, you know? I just find it hard to believe, OK? OK, because remember, this is the Mallory that the woman comes up to her like, tell us about the cancer. And she's like, get away from me. You know, she gets in the car, cuss that woman all out. She's also cussing out the woman who had all her kids on stage, the lady who was winning the scholarship in the salon. She's like, get your ghetto kids off of me and all this other stuff. Right. So this lady has never shown sympathy for anybody.
[00:22:41] Barney is on the phone with her like, your brother-in-law is dying. He's dying. He's hanging himself. And she's like, OK, have fun. I don't care. Leave me alone. I don't care. I don't care. Whatever, whatever. And then when Sylvie is like going back with her parents, Mallory is the only one to be like, Kimmy, are you OK? Are you good? Are you? Because I understand. Because I get it.
[00:23:08] So now Charles was hanging with a noose around his neck. And this woman had no feeling. She said specifically, let me change into something fashionable real quick. Right. She's dragging her feet. But when Sylvie is actively going back to her parents, which is crazy in and of itself. She's like, are you good, Kimmy? Can you want to talk about it? Let's ride. You can ride with me. It's OK.
[00:23:36] I said, where did this woman come from? This is not the same lady that we got to know. Yeah. But again, her and Kimmy, same backgrounds. Remember kids? Tough side of the street. Da-da-da-da-da-da. Like they really connected, Chappelle. That's what I was going to say. Mallory made a friend. Kimmy is the one. Kimmy is the connection point here. That's all. So if she has sympathy for one person, it's Kimmy. That's it. And then maybe like Varney. There's a little bit of like friendship there. Sometimes.
[00:24:07] Sometimes. Yeah. She's not only in the big bitch. Yeah. Can I say? I think another thing about season three that really like ground my gears is like how much gay bashing dialogue can we like legit just like it's like the gay bashing dialogue Olympics. It's just Kyler thinking of like the worst stuff you can say about gay people just flying
[00:24:37] off the cuff every five seconds. And I'm like dog I'm I'm over this like. But it's so confusing. This isn't funny. Like. It's confusing because there are those little bits where it's like. Come on. Like you have the scene with Charles and Horace. He's like just be gay. We're the same person. And I'm like oh that feels like I felt a little heartwarming moment in there. I'm like no no no. This is also really homophobic. This isn't great. Not good. Not good.
[00:25:06] But I feel like he was trying. Like I think Tyler had a few people come up to him and say this show is so anti-black and so anti-gay that you need to roll it back a little bit. And he said let me do you one better. I'm going to give you a bisexual a bisexual billionaire in terms of Horace. And I'm also going to make sure that we have him come out. Like. He said I'm the devil down and say you can keep yourself. When Olivia said. Big gay.
[00:25:35] That's the one that got me. That's not even a sentence. No when she's like oh you a man of your word huh? And Varnie said yes. She's like your word. Your word. Ben. Breaks like. At the waist. No she said. At the waist. At the waist. I thought she said at the waist. I thought she said at the wrist. She did her hand motion too. I'm not going to do it. But she did the hand motion. Either way. Neither way sounds good. Like.
[00:26:06] Like what are we doing here? Any scene Varnie's in Mari. Any scene Varnie is in. It is open season. Open season. She's like you like a drink. Or do you want to drink that man over there? The man can't even enjoy a drink. Even with Mallory at the police. Like. Is this your husband? She said sir. All three of us suck dick hair. That's not answer. So. That's her husband. Yes or no. She said suck. God. I think she said like. Yeah.
[00:26:36] I thought she said no. I'm pretty sure she said suck. I'm pretty sure she said suck. Rewind that back. Rewind it back. She said suck. I'm going to play the clip. Like we used to do. On the shorts. I'm going to play it over the roof. Do it. I'm telling you. She said suck. Because I was like. Oh. Damn it. You're also making a lot of assumptions about these people. But it's true. That is just factual. Like I saw that to him. Like yes. Factual. Bring it out. Bring him out. Bring him out.
[00:27:05] Bring it into the light. It's just too much. Like why. Let's talk about it. There's so many things to talk about. But yes. Can we talk about Barney and Charles walking in on Horace. As Angel is giving him a lap dance. I was like. Thank you. I was yelling at my TV. I was like. Get off. Would you call that a lap dance? Like they were. It was. There was no lap really involved. He was just standing there. I. Okay. I hate Angel. He's the worst. Angel.
[00:27:35] Angel might be the worst character. Like. I don't know what's attractive. I don't know what's attractive to Horace about Angel. Other than nothing. This man takes your money. And he lives in your house. And he has your butler. Jeffrey or Gregory or whatever his name is. Getting him sandwiches. He's disrespecting your staff and your health. And you still want a lap dance from him. And there was no lap involved. Horace was standing up.
[00:28:04] We spent six episodes with Angel. Yeah. And all he was doing for the first six episodes. Was pouting. I just. I just. Horace. Horace. Say. Horace. It's me. Angel. It's me. Angel. I don't want to be broke. I don't want to be broke. Then he'll go to. Go to rain. And she's like. You know what you got to do. Go back to work. He goes to the strip club. He's like. I'm not going to the strip club no more. Coming home. He comes home. And that's when he finally gets to. Okay. Horace. Look.
[00:28:33] I'll be a private dancer. Dancer for money. You know. Any old dancer will do. But. When he was in the strip club. And. Was offended. By the amount of money. That they were putting in his drawers. He was like. Do you know how much money. I used to have. How dare you put four dollars. In my. Where. He said. That would be upsetting. She put two dollars. In my. In my string. She said. It's a strip club. It's a strip club. For two dollars. Yeah. He said.
[00:29:03] He was dancing for two hours. And only made. A hundred dollars. I mean. I'm with him on that. But. At some point. You just need to go home. And sleep with the man. We spent. Six episodes. Of him just. Whining about it. That's the worst part. About Angel. Is it. He didn't have any storyline. Except. Why won't Horace talk to me? I don't like Horace. But I want him to like me. But I can't go back to work. Because that's ghetto. But I can't also have sex with this man. Because I don't like him. But at the same time. I don't ever want to be broke again.
[00:29:33] But. I'm too lazy to go out. And actually get a real job. So. I guess I'll just. Dance again. And see if it works. And then. Like. Okay. Wait. Where was. Where was Angel living. Before? In the hotel with Kimmy. Oh. He wasn't. He wasn't. He wasn't in there with Rain. And Kimmy. That would have been hilarious. His baby mama would have whooped his ass. You don't remember. Literally that happened. No. In season one. He was with his baby mama. And then. They got caught up at the club.
[00:30:01] So he started staying in the hotel with Kimmy. So then his baby mama came and said. I see you in there with that girl. And she. She like. Messed up his car. She did. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. He wasn't living in my choice. On top of being a bitch. He's been through a lot. He's really been through a lot. It's the whining. It's just too much. No. It is. Too much. But I'm. It's just so sad. Because why. Are you so focused on this rich man. When you could be out there. I mean.
[00:30:30] As far as I know. Angel isn't sleeping with. Men. Right. We haven't seen him do that. Yeah. We haven't seen him do it. I don't know if it's happened. But he could go out there. And find like a lot of other men. To give lap dances to. Bring them back to the champagne room. Bring them back out. In the back with the cars. He could open up the trunk. Move his bibles to the side. And lay back. Yeah. You know. Like I'm just saying. I feel like there are other ways to make money. Angel.
[00:31:00] Listen to me. Get your CDL. Go get a job. Get a trade. Go learn to weld. Do something. Damn it. This is embarrassing. Every day he wake up like. But. I could go to work. But. I'd rather just stay here and pout. I guess it's like. Every part of his being. And don't get me wrong. I get it. Work is ghetto. It's ghetto as hell outside. If you don't got to go to work. By all means. Do what you got to do. But it was six episodes straight. Of him just like. One foot out the door.
[00:31:31] From being like. Are you sure Horace doesn't like me? I think I kind of like him. He's trying to talk himself into it. For most of the season. Before he finally. He. He holds Horace hostage. Horace is like. Get out of my room. He's like. No. I'm going to dance for you. He's like. Don't. He's like. Yes. I am going to dance for you. Watch. That was the way he's doing it. It just starts dancing. Horace is like. Fine. If you're going to take off your clothes. I guess I'll watch. And that's why he got caught up. So if you think Horace was mad at first. Mari. I don't know if Angel comes back from this. Yeah. Yeah. And Angel's like. I'm sorry.
[00:32:01] I'm sorry. It was not my fault. How can you blame me? I'm like. Horace. Daddy. Please. Please. I just want some money. I think even Horace and Kimmy remarked during the season. I was like. Oh. You got your bitch voice on too. Like. Right. I'm like. This is. Not great. This is Horace. So ridiculous. Horace. Horace. Please. Horace. I. Look. I get it. I relate. Sometimes you have to bring out the voice. You know. Oh. Come on. Daddy. Daddy. But.
[00:32:31] But you know what. Oh. Oh. We're going to talk about Evan ass too. Oh. No. I'll just stay. I'm trying to sort through. Like. I don't like Angel. But. Out of everybody. I feel like he's the most normal. Because. If we look at the time frame. He's not getting over his emotions. He's not giving us anything too exciting. He's just like. Pretty consistent about what he wants. He wants his money. And he's broke. And has nowhere to live. Like. It's. Relatable.
[00:33:00] That's his only identifier. He's not. He's not tied to any of the other drama. Do you notice that? They. They. Somehow. Put him in. In a little box. Where all he's there for is. Horace's entertainment. Just to be shunned by him. Every chance he gets. So. Um. I'm really hoping we don't see much more of Angel. It's just a waste of space. Yeah. And you know what. I'll also just point out. I don't appreciate. Personally. Why do we get so much man butt. In all these other places. But no. Angel man butt. What are we doing?
[00:33:29] They were in the locker room once. And didn't. Didn't get any. No. I don't think they. I don't think it's in his contract. I'm just pointing that out. Oh yeah. Oh no. Remember the actor said. He doesn't like. Like he. He's like anti. Gay. I think Tyler Perry. What? He's anti-gay? Yeah. I don't remember. He definitely had some problematic interview. Right. Where he was talking about. Certain things. Yeah. I saw that for sure. And I was like. Okay.
[00:33:58] But look. We know that man. Is going to do whatever it takes for money. Gay people going to hell. Right. I think that was like. Oh yeah. Something like that. Yeah. Well look. Again. And then people were like. Well why are you playing a. Just like the character. He will do whatever it takes for money. Exactly. He will go above and beyond. There's so many characters to talk about here. Please. I don't want to get too far from Mallory. Mallory has a new love interest. Kind of. His name is Lee.
[00:34:27] And he's a God-fearing Christian man. And Mallory's trying her best to get this man. Getting this man's draws. I did not understand. Why he was even giving her the time of day. Because remember. She didn't want to pay him the money. The orphanage was going to get shut down. You know. His back was against the wall. He had just fixed half a house. That a car drove through. The day before. Okay. Follow me on this one. And so because of that. He was down bad. He stole their bottle of cheap wine.
[00:34:56] From their little wine rack. And he told them I was not leaving. Until I got my money. They end up getting rid of him. But Mallory does go and give him the money. Once he gets the money. I'm thinking. Okay sir. Go about your day. No. He's like. Mallory. I'd be happy to do more work for you. And I'm thinking. What are you talking about? You just had a whole fit yesterday. About how they didn't want to give you. Your money. And you did all that work. But now you want to go back to the house. Next thing I know. Mallory's got him at the strip club. And I'm thinking.
[00:35:27] Here she is about to corrupt this Christian man. Nomad. He came all. He did all of this. To minister to her. Is that the punchline? That's it. Like that's the punchline. That he was all. He was only in it. To bring her to Jesus. That's it. And you know what? Honestly. I do respect his commitment. But. Like do we not see him. Like is this it? This is it? I think there's got to be. You know how pissed I'm going to be.
[00:35:56] If we get him back here again. Especially after the shooting. What else could he possibly want? Like what else could he possibly bring to the table at this point? This man. Is not a part of the main story anymore. He shouldn't be. And he just. Like he's handy. But like honestly. What else does he have working for him? Like. Nothing. He's for the orphans. He works with kids. He has to be up early. He can't even be a good time. Because he has to go to bed early. Like what are we doing? And why are you out of the strip club. When you have to be at the orphans in the morning?
[00:36:26] Yeah. Or church. You know. Or church. There's got to be some place. Well this is Friday night. So he actually don't have church for another day or so. Mari. Do you see us having Lee back. As a character in any capacity in season four? I thought so at first. When they introduced him. At the beginning of the season. But I can definitely see season four comes back. And they'll be like Lee who? Yeah. Why? That's the only line that never happened. I mean. What did they bring?
[00:36:56] It brought us nothing. It was the main plot of the first episode. And now. I think we're going to see him. And now we have nothing. You think we're going to see him? He'll be back. He's going to pray over someone. Like. I don't think that they really got rid of anyone at any point. Like. I don't. Maybe there's some people from season one who we haven't seen. But like. Felicia. Yeah. Where's Felicia? Is like suffering from third degree. In the hospital. With third degree burns. We lost body. So she'll be back at some point. Body's dead.
[00:37:25] Body's dead. So that's fine. She big dead. She big dead. Yeah. And Delinda's dead too. She's been dead. Yeah. Like that's the thing. If you're dead. Then you're not coming back. Well. Can we talk about the only people that have like confirmed dead. By the end of the finale. Kimmy's parents? Kimmy's parents and her. We didn't see Sylvie get shot. We didn't see Sylvie get shot. No. She got shot. She got shot. But I think she got shot. We didn't see her get shot. She got shot.
[00:37:55] Okay. Should I say. The question is. Did she get shot Mari? The question is. Did she survive? She never got shot. Oh. Why are people surviving gunshots? What are these weak ass guns? I'm so sorry. But we have a world where like. The guns are like stronger than ever before. Like we need gun legislation. And all these mental health checks. And all the things like. In R.A. Or that. But if we're in Tyler Perry's universe. At least other people die to show that guns are dangerous.
[00:38:25] And where and where horse got shot. With him and Norman. I'm like. A order. Dead. Like I don't understand. Mari. I don't understand. You. You. You work with the blood. You work in the health field. You know. Let's talk. Let's talk. Mallory and Norman. Getting a fight. Norman is shot. He's on the ground. People are like. His pulse is faint. He's slowly dying. Horace.
[00:38:55] Then. Wait. Then. Other stuff is happening. People are coming. People are going. We're calling for help. Horace finally shows up. Because they couldn't even get him on the phone. Remember nobody was answering their phone. For some odd reason this season. So you had to go get people in person. They go get Horace. Hey. Come back with me to the other house. They get to the house. Norman's still laying there. Horace then. They talk about it. They leave. Horace then decides to beat the hell out of him. With his cane. He does that as well.
[00:39:26] Norman. Musters up every bit of strength that he has. To stand up. And shoot. At. Horace. Horace. Shoots. Back. At Norman. He shoots him. Again. So now he has two gunshot wounds. At least. At least. At least. And now they're laying on the ground next to each other. Like you son of a bitch. You shot me. You shot me. It's like. Wait a damn minute. What is going on? Any minute now. You. Yeah. This looks like hell to me. Don't it?
[00:39:56] How many gunshots could this man survive? After already laying on the ground. Bleeding out for at least 30 minutes. That is. Age. So that's the thing. What's the thing? So. It looked like Mallory shot Norman somewhere in the abdomen. Okay. She said break it down. And this happened in episode six. He gets shot in the abdomen. Still. By the time it's episode eight. Like you said. Maybe an hour or two have collapsed. Have elapsed.
[00:40:26] And so. It can take upwards to two to four hours to bleed out from an abdomen gunshot wound. So that's. That. Wasn't as egregious to me. To be quite honest. I was like. To be fair. Mari. We don't know if he put like a little finger in the gun hole. You know. Plugging it up. Plugging it up. Honestly. And. They. And those people are just. Apparently everybody is just really bad at checking pulses too. They're like. Very faint. Oh no. They're good at checking them.
[00:40:56] If you hate somebody. If you hate somebody enough. I could see it. I could definitely see Norman just be like. I think people are not trying to kill each other though. Like. Oh. They don't really got it in them. No. They don't. That whole situation pisses me off. But mostly because he's so old. At that age. Like. If you fall. You could break a hip. So you're telling me. I could break a hip to that. Yeah. Like what are we doing? He should have been dead.
[00:41:26] Mari. It's not the first shot. They should have both died right then and there though. They should have at that age. Made it. But to me. It's not the first shot. It's the second shot. Mari. Okay. You tell me. It takes two. Four hours to bleed out from their aorta. Or maybe from their abdomen. Bet. But when you get the shot. Shot again. Shouldn't that at least. Yeah. Give him another hole. I don't even know where he shot him again. Because they was just shooting at each other. So. They were just like this. Like. You know. Just getting shot in more. So I don't even know.
[00:41:56] I was like. What is happening? Yeah. No. No. No. No. No. No. Grab him. Yeah. Leave him there. I don't know. So he's definitely alive. Right? Like.
[00:42:26] Norman's definitely alive. And he has to be. He's kidding me. I mean. What? Come on. He's alive. He shouldn't have. He shouldn't have been able to get up and have another gunfight with Horace. But he did. So. I don't think he's going anywhere. But. Mostly because he's the big bad. In my opinion. You know. Jules is trying to be in the Norman spot. You know. But Norman is the one who. Gets out of jail. You know. We talked about how he was like. Tell your boss about me. Ask your. Ask about me. Right. We've seen.
[00:42:56] We've seen Norman explode people. You know. He's using bombs. And stuff like that. Right. So. I don't think. I don't think Norman can go out. Without like. One like. Final altercation with him in Jules. Or something like that. Because they're really battling for supremacy. At least that's how it seems to me. And. Norman. Um. Dang it. Well. No. Jules. We got the big reveal at the end. About Jules. And I was like. That was kind of anticlimactic. Yeah.
[00:43:26] But. But. But yeah. Norman. Norman. I guess. Is supposed to be. Oh. When. The boss. From the. The jail. The. The fed came. He's like. Oh. Oh my God. He's like. Who you got in there? Who you. Norman. Oh my God. Please. He was scared. He was scared. Norman asked him. Why. Yeah. Why am I in jail? He's like. I'm sorry. I didn't know. I didn't know. Y'all didn't have to lock this man up like that. I'm so sorry.
[00:43:56] I'm sorry. He. It looked like Norman was going to slap him. For the other cops arresting him. So Norman got the most pull Matt. Yeah. Look. I'm. Okay. Wait. I'm really bothered by something else. I've just been quietly patiently sitting over here because we're talking about Norman. Like sure. He has all the pull blah blah. Could we just talk about. I have so much on my heart right now. You two. I know this is a safe space to share. You can talk. Um.
[00:44:23] I was so fucking pissed off that like we had the scene where Charles had the gun. Holding it up to Horace's head. Yes. Shot him. And now we're just. What are we doing? What is this show? We're just pretending that people are getting killed? I mean we just watched Charles survive a hanging. Yes. But that's fine. Because I'll accept that. I'll accept that that happened.
[00:44:52] Like you know whatever. You are simultaneously. Strong neck. Strong neck. Whatever. Um. You know. I don't know how that works. But right after that. We see him kill Horace. Shoot him. And then the episode starts. And it didn't happen. Yeah. A dream sequence. What are we doing? I was so mad. What are we doing? And he was holding the gun to his head. It was not a dream sequence.
[00:45:22] That happened. No. It was a dream sequence. He just didn't pull the trigger. It wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't. I don't know what you want to call it. If it was a hallucination. It was an intrusive thought. It was an intrusive thought. That we had to be part of. It was. For some reason. Even though this show. Does not truly have cliffhangers. Because we're getting all of it at once. So it just felt anticlimactic. And I was pissed off. When I tell you. I was like. I said Mari liked it. Yes. I was like. I know right. And that's what you get.
[00:45:51] And that's what you get. And when it came back. I was like. Oh man. Like. I was so mad. No. I was annoyed. I'm just like. Should have been talking shit. Could we kill someone? I thought Norman was dead. Yeah. Could we kill someone? I'm so mad. Like nobody was dying. I was so ready for Charles to be dead. Get him out of the way. He's still there. For a second I did too. I was like. Oh well. I mean. There's nothing much else they can do. There's nothing much else they can do. But nope. They just saved him. They CPR'd him back from his hanging.
[00:46:20] I didn't know that's how this worked. I did not know. This is me being. Like. Completely honest. I did not know. I don't know how long Charles was hanging up there. Probably like 10 seconds. Maybe. I mean. They must have drove up. Right as he was kicking the chair from underneath them. Yeah. Because I just don't understand how he did this. And survived it. But he did. So there's that. So we will see more of Charles next season. And this relationship with Barney. That still makes no sense to me at all. But y'all. You know. We keep talking about how nobody died.
[00:46:49] Let's talk about the people who did die. We saw. We know Kimmy's mama is dead. At the very least. We know her mom is dead. And her stepdad is dead as well. We think. If. We think Sylvie is dead. Yes. I'm not going to hold y'all. I was rooting against Sylvie. I am sick of Sylvie's character. I want her off my TV screen. I'm done. I'm done. I'm through. Sylvie. You didn't even know that little boy.
[00:47:17] That got pushed out that window. And murdered. You didn't even know him. You are acting like you knew that man. And y'all dated for years. Or y'all was. You know. That was y'all. Y'all were high school sweethearts or whatever. That man. And you don't know him. He died. And you didn't kill him. And Rain didn't kill him either. They pulled the plug. They pulled the plug inside the hospital. The man was. He could have survived. They killed him there. Rain did not kill him. So come with me. Sylvie. Out the ghetto.
[00:47:47] Because why. Did you call your mama. And her raggedy rapist boyfriend. To come save you. From the rich people. Who want to take care of you. So that you could go back. And. Chex notes. Get raped again. You know what I'm saying. No. I'm not. But this is real piss. Because I'm like. Wait. Wait. Wait. I can't even be mad at Sylvie. I can be mad at Sylvie. But I'm just mad at the writing. Because I'm like. What? What are we doing? We're just going to pretend. Like none of what he did.
[00:48:16] Mattered to her. Like she's happy to go back. To the trauma. All because she witnessed. A murder. Of somebody she did not know. Yeah. Again. Poor decision making. Here. Sylvie. You saw a murder. You keep saying. Oh my god. You guys are. Are soulless. You saw another murder. And so and so did this murder. I can't be. I would rather be. Broked. And sexually assaulted.
[00:48:46] Than to live in these rich trappings. Of this rich mansion. And go to a good school. Because you guys have no morals. Oh and also. I know you guys don't hesitate to kill people. I'm going to go and tell the police. Soon. So just letting you know. That soon. I'm going to get all of you murderers. In trouble. Just letting you know that. But not right this second. In the morning. Yeah. You got about 12 hours.
[00:49:16] Motherfucker. And I'm taking you down. Ain't that right mom. I was like. Sylvie. Sylvie. What are you doing? I'm so sad. This literally should have been. This should have been. Akin to the Hunger Games. Right. Sylvie. Sylvie. Kimmy literally. enters this human trafficking situation. And all of that. Because. Of the threat. Of Jules being like. Oh if you don't. You know. Strip for me in the strip club.
[00:49:45] I'm going to go get your sister. And I'm going to go traffic her. Right. This was. She literally volunteered. That's where we started. She then. Got it out of the mud. Brought her home. Tried to make her life better. Just for her to. Then get killed by the big bad. Slash somebody on her side. Anyways. Hunger Games. Spoiler. And so. And Sylvie is presumed dead. She's dead. And I do not care. Like I do not care. I was like.
[00:50:15] You know what? It had to be done. This is just. In the way. I was kind of glad. I was kind of glad that Jules did it. Instead of like Rain. So now Rain doesn't have that on her conscience. No. But. That was beautiful. With these dumb ass decisions. I have to say. I did appreciate. The Rain's moment. Of basically deciding. That she was going to kill. Sylvie. Because that to me. Was like good character development. Where like. She didn't have to do it. But the fact that she's like. I'm going to kill my best friend's sister. And I don't even care. Like. Rain.
[00:50:44] Rain deserved everything. That happened to her by the end. She really did. They. They kept saying. They kept saying. Rain was out of control. As a boss. And I just didn't see it at first. But they were like. Like. Like for. For. For example. Rain catches somebody. Stealing. From the bar. She says. Bring her to me. To my office. She of course. Throws her the lamp. Or whatever. Give me my money bitch. You know. The woman. Fesses up. She's like. Go wash it off. And then. Wash the money.
[00:51:14] Right. Then Traxan. Goes and tells the security homeboy. Says. Yeah. You're right. She's lost her mind. She being robbed. She. That's. What? She lost her mind. Now. Don't get me wrong. Yeah. Was she. Was she. The woman upside the head. With that bottle. That wasn't great. That was great. That wasn't great. For Angel. Of all people. Because Angel. Was being. Bougie. Angel. First off. Smacks this lady. For giving him. Two dollars. Yeah.
[00:51:43] And then she said. And then she said. I want my lawyer. And Rain's like. Oh. I can get a bottle. She's like. No. No. I want my lawyer. Rain was like. Well. Let's give him something. To really litigate. And hit her upside the head. Of the bottle. And says. Don't play with me. None of y'all should play with me. Rain. What are you doing. Sweetie. Like. This is not. What you think this is. Let you. Oh my God. Let you hit me. On the side of the head. With the bottle. AJ. AJ. We finna get money. Geneva. Geneva.
[00:52:14] It's time to be mine. I've been honest though. No. Make it Maury. Yeah. Wow. Because what? I have a question for you Matt. Please. Throughout these eight episodes. What did Kimmy do? Really? She didn't do much of it. Well. Okay. Let me break down what she did. She had a good instinct at the beginning. She's like. I know that it's not over.
[00:52:43] I know that they're not in jail. I just know it. Right. Then she. She. Had intercourse. With Horace. In a car. Then she tried to seduce him. Failed. Again later. She tried and failed. Multiple times. She did go to the club at one point. Wait. She went there. Wait. She put on that very distracting suit to go to work first. Yes. Find you.
[00:53:13] What work was accomplished at work? Quickly. Oh. But also. We have to remember. Sylvie did leave. Sylvie left. Sylvie did leave. But what. Did Kimmy. In eight episodes. Mari. What did our main character. Actually accomplish. Not a thing. But look. Sprung over an old man. I just don't understand. How we got so far away. From the Kimmy storyline. We start the season. With Kimmy's hair salon dreams.
[00:53:42] I don't want to be a ho. No more. And rain like girl. We always going to be hoes. Like that's where we started. Yeah. Yeah. Now we're at. Kimmy's so far past that. She's like. Not only am I not going to be a ho. But I am going to be a wife and a mother. To these grown ass people. Yeah. I guess she's really on like an emotional journey. While everyone's like dying around her. Getting shot or killed. Like I'm sorry. But there's nothing. Maybe just me. Maybe I'm broken. But there's nothing romantic to me. About a little bit of jail time. About a little murder.
[00:54:11] About a little corporate espionage. Like that's just. That does not do it for me personally. But if that works for her. All the power to Kimmy. God. I don't like that we. Yeah. I don't like that we got so far away from. The main character. And just started doing wild shit. With other. And with everybody else. Three of the characters. That we got to know in the first two seasons. Were in jail. Most of the time. You know. Norman is able to get out. Eventually Jules will get out of there as well.
[00:54:40] And then Roy of course. He's having the hardest time. With his jails in his. We haven't talked about Roy enough. Yet. I don't even know if we've mentioned him. He's going through withdrawals. In jail. And then he gets drugged. In jail as well. I'd be okay with Roy dying. I'm assuming that was an accident. Get him up out of here. I assume that was an accident. It might have been a hot shot. The only reason. No but the only reason. I think it was an accident. Was because.
[00:55:10] The guy was like. Roy Bellery. You're going to pay me after. You got me at. Like he was so. He kept saying it. And so. I just assumed. That he wanted his money after. But again. Like. I don't know. Who knows. Yeah. Roy. Roy. Again. Dumb decisions. First thing. He's going to talk. Then when they say talk. He's like. I ain't talking. Then. He comes out. And talks to Horace. Horace is like. You fiending. It was just. A lot of.
[00:55:40] Just back and forth. Of him just. Going through the hospital. Trying to get meds. And stuff. And then. Could he just die already? Like. I hope. Again. This man has already. Fallen out a window. Made in a house. Set on fire. Ran by a car. Hit by a car. Hit the house. Set by fire. Had hot coffee thrown. At him. He slept with Felicia. He did. Slept with Felicia. It's that Heron. That Heron. Give you superpowers. You know. He.
[00:56:10] Truly. He. He gotta be. But you know. Like y'all said. Nobody dies. We saw Horace. In the first two seasons. We just knew he was gone. Horace is going to die. He went to Italy. Came back completely healthy. And now we find out. That. And again. Mari. The medical professional here. They're. Injecting cancer into him. That's not how that works. In the hospital that he owns. They're just putting. That's not how that works. No Mari. That's not. You can't tell me that.
[00:56:39] They're just sprinkling a little cancer. In his. In his. In his. IV. That's not great. I'm not a medical professional. But I'm going to jump in and say. I don't want anyone injecting. Anything into me. Let alone cancer. Cancer. Like. They could have at least said. Like a virus. Or bacteria. No cancer. But. Cancer. Cancer. Like. Maybe at most. They're thinking like. Some. If it's like a. Like a bone marrow. Cancer. Like one of the biggest things. For like a bone marrow. Or. Yeah.
[00:57:09] Like a blood cancer. You can do a bone marrow transplant. Where you take out. Where you. Where you put good. Bone marrow. Into. The host bone marrow. And then that'll proliferate. Good. Cells. So. I mean. If they're trying to say. They took cancer cells. And put. Cancer into his bone marrow. And hope that that. Proliferated. I don't. I don't think. We would know that. Maybe the Nazis. Might know that. You know what I'm saying. That sounds like. Some diabolical stuff. Yeah.
[00:57:38] Why do you know that? You have to experiment on people. To find out. But that doesn't sound like something. Let me see. Can I just give. I have to give. Just. Amari. Appreciation. Tweet right now. While keep her around. Meanwhile. In today's world. We're seeing people being dragged. You know. People like Mari. Being called biased. And you know. Look how hard she's working. To make sense of this. You know. Tyler Perry doesn't know anything about this. But Tyler. If you are watching. Mari Forth is right here.
[00:58:08] Trying to make your stories. Make some sense for you. Hire her. Hire people. You are welcome. You are welcome sir. That. That Mari's here. Trying to make some sense of this. Total mess. Matt. Mari. What have you found by the way? No Matt. Before. Before. Before. Come to me. I do need to ask. Because you were talking about the cough. Now. Was the cancer going into the bones. Affecting his lungs. Or were they injecting the cancer into his lungs. Because I thought he had. Some type of respiratory.
[00:58:38] Thing. I assumed it was like. I. Well so. I don't know if we knew it was cancer at first. I assumed it was HIV. HIV. And. And then. I'm like. Why is he not being treated? Maybe. Because he didn't want people to know he had HIV. Because it was a whole thing. It was weird. Like. I didn't get that. I think they did inject. The cancer. In his lungs. Yeah. That's what I was about to say. Okay. Let us know. This is so horrible. And they're playing with cancer. Tyler Perry. Also. Don't Google.
[00:59:08] The first thing. The first Google search. Is can you inject cancer into somebody. Which I feel like. I want to see the Google trends for that. Because something tells me. They popped up. I want to see you get arrested for that. The FBI is knocking on your door right now. The FBI has lots of. But the even worse thing. Is like Google. AI overview says. Yes. Many cancer treatments are given through injection. Read that again Google. That's not what we.
[00:59:38] AI. That's not the question. That's not the question. But just. But just like I thought. No. It like. If you. Say you get. Like. It's all about transplant. So say you give somebody. A cancerous liver. You know. Sure. Then maybe. The liver can still stay cancerous. But if you're just injecting. Cancer cells into somebody. Your. Your body is going to see. That that is foreign cells. And your immune system. Is going to attack it. Like.
[01:00:08] You can't. Let me defend the writing. Let me defend the writing. For a second. Because. Maybe that's how. Okay. They. They put the cancer in him. And then like. Sir you have cancer. Because he had cancerous cells. In him. But then. He was recovered. He was. He recovered from cancer. So quickly. Because he never actually had it. So. So they did. Yeah. But why was he. Yeah. Okay. What? No. Stop. So anyway.
[01:00:39] So instead of his sickness. He. Okay. So his sickness wasn't cancer. It was his body trying to fight the cancer. Basically. In a world that you can put cancer into somebody's. And it could just hang out in there. You could just put it in. Okay. I hate this. I need like. A little bit of like. Scientific integrity here. We're not even done. Oh no. I asked you earlier Matt. A hard hitting question. What did Kimmy do? Matt. My next question. What.
[01:01:08] Did Olivia do. This entire season. She didn't get killed. Blackmail Roy. I mean. Blackmail Charles. There were so many people. Blackmailing people. Like. So and so had blackmail on so and so. So and so had black. If everybody's blackmailing everybody. Then there's nobody to be blackmailed. I feel like. Right. Because y'all all have leverage over each other. Like if you. Where is mutually. What. Assured destruction. At that point. Assured destruction. Right. Because like. If you go. I'm a go. Which is wild. Because.
[01:01:39] Mallory somehow. Is the only one who is clean here. Even though she killed Norman's wife. Because remember in the first season. They were trying to keep her clean. Because she was the image of the show. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. But yeah. She turned in state. In the church. Maybe she knows. She turned in state evidence. And got away with everything. She might know Lee. Because remember when she was in the church. Mallory was big on the church. A few days ago. A week ago. Really? Because that was just probably Sunday. Probably about a week. Yeah.
[01:02:08] So Olivia. Big thing is. She. Is going to die. Because the. The. The. The Gina and them are coming for the money. We've already seen them attack her before. She's in jail. So she's relatively safe. But she tells Charles. Hey. You need to go pay that money. Because if you don't. I'm going to turn in evidence against you. And then you will go to jail. Well. While she's in jail. Um. Two mysterious women. Uh. Show up in the jail cell with her. And. They already know the game. They're so ready to kill her. The whole time. She's trying to get out. She's trying to get out.
[01:02:38] She's trying to get out. They let her out. And they start questioning her. What can you tell us? What do. You know. Tell us something. I think. At that point. Varney shows up. With Charles. Yeah. And they're really trying to get the location. Of. This. Um. These body parts. Body parts. Yeah. They. They're like. Hey. We're going to pay the money. And everything. We just need you. We just need the evidence. She's like. No. I don't care. I'd rather. I'd rather go to jail. It's like. But you just begged your ass. To get out of jail. And now. You back out. And. She's telling the cops. Like. No. Fine.
[01:03:07] It's okay. They're going to kill me. So what. I've been killed before. Like. She just doesn't care. Until she's in jail. Facing the people. And then all of a sudden. She's so terrified. To be in there. Uh. And so. Matt. You know where I'm going with this. Um. So. Eventually. Because we've gone so far. Without talking about it. Eventually. Eventually. Barney and Charles. Decide. Okay. We're going to go. And we're going to pick up. These body parts. We're going to go make the drop. With this money. Um. But. It's feeling like an ambush. And so. They need to call in.
[01:03:37] For some backup. And they call. Uh. Alex. Who we find out. Is connected. To. The Atlanta. Ninjas. Of America. Association. Or something. That's so ugly. Because. When they pull up. It is indeed. An ambush. And they are going to be attacked. But jumping from the buildings above. It's. Ninjas. It's ninjas.
[01:04:06] That was such a microaggression. I mean. Why am I calling that microaggression out? But. How was that a micro. That was a microaggression. That one felt. That one felt really. That one felt pretty macro actually. I'm just saying. Why do I gotta be ninjas? And they. They didn't. They didn't address it or anything. But I'm like. Nope. Strange. If he just happens to know some ninjas. So. Technically. In the background. Of him getting stitched up. The ninjas were in the background. They were there. Yeah.
[01:04:35] They laid the foundation for ninjas eventually showing up. But they never really talk about. Why. Alex. Is. A ninja. And ninja adjacent. Except for. He's Asian. That's it. And if you Asian. I mean like. Half. You must know karate. And you gotta be surrounded by ninjas. I believe we did. We got a. A question. I believe we have a. A prompt. Chappelle. I believe I have a prompt. I don't know. What's the prompt?
[01:05:06] Yeah. We got a. A skeet. On blue sky. Oh. Shout out to all our blues. On blue sky. Yes. From TJ. TJ said. Look. I hope. I want to know. If y'all knew. About the ninjas. In episode one. Because TJ was ready. To come and listen to us. Talk about it. I did know. I think we did have a text exchange. Before the season started. When we saw the preview. About the ninjas. And. I don't know. Why. My brain. Didn't automatically think.
[01:05:35] There is one Asian person. In this show. That's how. They're going to do it. No. I don't know. Why my brain. Did not automatically think. Because you're not racist. Because I'm not. Because it did. It never occurred to me. That there would be. Any way. To draw. Any type of ninjas. Into Atlanta. Until. Yeah.
[01:06:10] If. If. Is indeed. A ninja. Or ninja. Adjacent. I need to know. I need somebody. To explain it to me. Like I'm three and a half years old. Why has he not killed Traxin yet? He didn't want to kill him. Traxin has tried to murder this man. Multiple times. They. He walks around. Threatening his life. The last thing we see from them. In episode eight. Is. Them walking outside. Traxin. Hiding behind the car. Jumping out with the gun.
[01:06:39] And trying to shoot at him. What was that? He did. Oh my god. He said. Let me walk up to him. And get that gun. Right up against his head. Right on. Right on the head. So he can't dodge it. So he can't shoot him before that. And then he dodged it. Of course. But he left him. Alive. Mari. He left him alive. Well. But he also remember. He ran over him. So he ran over his ankles. He ran over his legs. It was like his feet. And his ankles.
[01:07:10] You a ninja. We just seen these people have swords. A second ago. And yet. This man who stabbed you. In an elevator. You ain't called. Your ninja homies. And be like. Why don't y'all kill Traxon? He's bothering me. Hello. And the way he had to clean up that. In Geneva. In Geneva. Call them. We need a lawyer in here. To make sense of this. Those are my lawyers. I. You know what. Mine too. Thankfully. We need them.
[01:07:39] After all this. This. It makes no sense. Why did he feel the need. To clean up the body. When Glenn died. When Glenn fell off the balcony. Like. He could have had the ninjas. Come in and help. Like. Why is he not. Using his resources. Well. He was trying to keep. Use his network. That on the hush hush. You know the saying. The ninjas might speak up. Your network. Is your net worth. He didn't even use his network. It's just. Wild to me. That. When Varney.
[01:08:09] Needs hired muscle. He calls Alex. Alex. Who is hired muscle. Seemingly has no interest. In killing the man. Who was walking around. With him. Threatening his life. Across multiple episodes. Yeah. Because he doesn't feel threatened. But then he kind of does. Because he's paranoid. About being followed. Yeah. Remember that old lady. Was following behind him. They had to swing the car around. And he was like. Oh. That was because of like.
[01:08:38] Gina though. That was because of Rain. Stealing with Gina. Yeah. He was paranoid about it. I don't think he was running for. Was he. Or was he running for Draxon? No. He was running from. You're right. He was running for Gina. With Gina at that point. You know what thread. We kind of ditched in these seasons. Is that there was a moment. Where it did feel like. Alex and Rain. Might. Yeah. Mm-hmm. They seemingly have no relationship. No. I mean. Okay. I feel like. That was. That was. Acknowledged. But not really.
[01:09:09] Mm-hmm. Because they did have an interaction. At some point. I swear it happened. Where they. He had better chemistry with Mallory though. Yeah. Oh. He has better chemistry with Mallory. Mm-hmm. Don't bring that up. And they had text in season two. So. That's fake. Rain and Alex were the true romance of the show for a while. And yet. And yet what happened. I mean. And yet. She managed to call him Japan nigga. Eight times. Yeah. In the season. She. Exactly. She. So. We did have the interactions.
[01:09:39] But I will say this. That. I just feel like. A lot of what happened for Alex. Is like. He was supposed to go to the club. Or he was supposed to take Rain. And then he was busy. Like. He was supposed to drive her. And then he couldn't do it. Because he had to kill somebody. But not actually kill them. And like. It was a whole thing. So. I think we're getting that back. Well. Wait. Watch this. He saves the day. In. And the ninjas. The ninjas now save the day. In season four. When.
[01:10:09] Make it rain. Is being shot up. Okay. Well. Which by the way. Why do these people feel the need to shoot up. Like the whole place like that. Hasn't it been shot up multiple times at this point? I mean. At least once. Right? No. Maybe it's the other club. Is there another club? Another club got shot up. The other one definitely. Was there another club? There was another one. The one that Angel was buying those bottles in. Yeah. Oh yeah. When he was out here. Running up a check. He had to go take. Yeah. He had to go take all that stuff back.
[01:10:38] That actually did make me laugh. Because he said. I took back all the stuff you bought me. And Horace said. What about the stuff you couldn't take back? He's like. I don't know. Sell it. Look. Yeah. I'm trying to hear it. I just don't want to get. I just don't want to get a job. Okay. But no. Alex is going to save the day. The ninjas are going to be back. It's going to be a thing. Gina is going to get killed. Jules is going to be the last one killed. Everyone else is going to die somehow of cancer. Like. I don't know what's going to happen. But.
[01:11:06] I just know that Alex and the ninjas are going to be back. Okay. I don't need it. We don't need it. But we're going to get it. I kind of need it. I need it because I don't want it to be just a thing that happened that people forget happened. Right. Like. If you brought ninjas into the story. I kind of need the ninjas to do a thing. You know what show we're watching? What? I know. Like. We don't. Do you think we're going to have a full circle. Like. We're going to have an assistant. What are you trying to say about this show?
[01:11:33] Let's get the two drivers back from season one. The man and the woman. Or. The driver and the assistant. I don't even remember their names. But let's bring them back. They were. Oh yeah. And Mallory. Like. Let's just run that back. Like. I want everything to come full circle in this show. Just because we don't need any loose ends after this next season. I just want. Bring them back. Bring them back. I don't know anymore. I don't know anymore. Because. Because at this point. The season ends with us. Really.
[01:12:03] In the. In the strip club. Everyone is there. Pretty much. Yeah. And she reveals that her boss is Jules. And Jules is pissed. Because. Now he has the information that he needs. Sylvie. Folded like a lawn chair. The moment that gun was on her. She said. Rain did it. Alex was there. Kimmy's. Kimmy did it too. They all did it. They. You know. She just told the whole. The whole plan here. He goes to the. To the strip club. And he just said. All right. Well I got something for y'all. And they start to open fire in the strip club. And so.
[01:12:33] The question is. Do any of the main characters. Any of the people we've named in this episode. Or in this podcast. I should say. Do any of them die in the strip club shooting? Mari you can go first. Is there anything there? Get in there Mari. I mean. I don't. Understand how Rain. Doesn't die here. Because she. Like the way that she. Doesn't seem willing to work with Gina. You find out that Jules is Gina's boss. Again. Anti-climactic. And. I feel like if we. Dig her. Dig deep.
[01:13:03] Deep down into that. That also might not make sense. Since Jules used to. Anyways. But anyways. So like. Jules found out. You killed his son. She's not playing ball with Gina. You just kill Rain. Because what's the point of keeping her alive? She's not playing ball. And then. That also gives Kimmy something to be sad about. I guess. Well. Hmm. Well if that happens. Then Kimmy has nobody. Because she won't have her mom. I mean. She was already going to be sad about Sylvie.
[01:13:34] Yeah. That's true. I could see. Something happening with Varney. Maybe. Since. Charles isn't there. Charles in rehab. But if. If Varney. Like. Gets hurt. That would. You know. That could. Push Charles. A good storyline for Charles. I hope Mallory. And. And. Kimmy. Are fine though. If Angel. Gosh. Angel wasn't there.
[01:14:03] Angel wasn't there sadly. Damn. He's never going back to the strip club. Yeah. They were just shooting. They were just shooting strippers. Customers. That was crazy. Everybody could get it. Yeah. Yeah. They were having a great time. I mean. I don't think. I don't know how Rain makes it out of this. I guess I'm going to say Alex and the ninjas somehow. But. What's interesting to me Mari. About what you said. Is that they didn't just kill her. You know. They shot up the whole club. So that she would have to witness it.
[01:14:33] Because it was her club. And we're going to destroy her club. And we're going to make her take it all in. So like. I feel like. Rain. They want her to. Like. They want her to feel it. They want to play with their food. So that's going to give her a little time. Of course Kimmy's not going to die. I think Varney's going to be fine. I don't think Charles would care if Varney was shot either. That'd be weird if he did. Yeah. It would be weird. Yeah. Are you sure Angel wasn't in there?
[01:15:03] Angel not going back to that club. He's not in the club. He's not going back to that club. Maybe he shows up late. To get a few extra bucks. And then gets shot on the way in. He's not going back to work. That's just not happening. He's not doing it. This is what pisses me off. Why are they all. They're all going to live. They're all going to live. They're all going to live. And we will be back. Next. Spring. Sorry. No. December. We'll be back in December. You think?
[01:15:33] Thanksgiving Eve. Yeah. But yeah. Mari. What were you going to say? I was going to say. If both Horace and Norman died. And they killed each other. That could be. That could like. Be an interesting storyline. Because it's like. Well who gets the shares? They killed each other. How do we divvy up the shares? Yeah. I like that. Because Kimmy's still in charge. Right? Kimmy's still the boss. Kimmy's still the wife. Yeah. Exactly.
[01:16:03] That might be interesting. And that could put a rift. Between her and Mallory. And that's what I really want to see. Because I do just. I don't get it. I don't get the sister girl moments. That they have it now. Yeah. I don't understand. I don't get it. That woman was trying to murder you. Kimmy. Yeah. We never got. Not these women. We never got the epic fight. Between the two of them. No. They just kind of looked at each other one day. And was like. You know what? Yeah. They had a conversation. In season two. They have an understanding.
[01:16:33] Sisterhood. Women together. And finally. Just before we go. The clip that's also making around. That's not the ninjas. Is Mallory being like. Yes. I ran over your wife. Like she was a possum in the rain. Like apparently people love that clip. It's so random. Random. Yeah. It's such a random analogy. Like a possum in the rain. Oh okay. And then she said. And then Roy came and hit her again. Like the roadkill.
[01:17:04] I was like. Oh my God. Like you were saying this to this man's face. Like. We saw Norman massacre an ambulance. Yeah. We sure did. And he got. And yet he let Mallory whoop his ass. In that house. I was like. Oh. Norman. You done lost the stuff. Buddy. You know. We watched this man explode judges. You know. He's surviving bullet wounds. Left and right. But Mallory had the. She had it for him. When she pulled the. When she pulled the gun.
[01:17:33] From between the couch cushion. Man. Why do you even have one of those there? These people. Are millionaires. If not billionaires. Why do you have. A pistol stashed right there. You have a. That's how Charles. Road and a gate to get in here. That's. That's how Charles. Charles killed those other. Four guys. He had a. He had a gun under his. His coffee table. And honestly. Maybe that's where she got. They know their families. Yeah. No. It's smart. Good for her.
[01:18:03] Keeping a gun there. I mean. It worked out. Yeah. No. This is a messed up family. And. I'm so sad that we're. We have to keep. We have to stay on the journey. But Chappelle. Could you get Tyler Perry. Or an actor. Like. Do we need to get someone here. For the next season. We don't need nobody here. Can we? We don't need nobody here. Whoever plays. The guy who plays Angel. Ask him about his views. Nah. He can't. He definitely can't come here. Absolutely not.
[01:18:32] He definitely cannot come here. See what slurs he'll call me. Let's keep going. Yeah. Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly. We'll get season four. Next year. But like I said. It has not been officially. Announced. And we know well enough. We know the show well enough. To know that. It'll be a month or two. Before Tyler comes back. For the rest of that money. So. We'll be happy to have you back. As I said Matt. You'll be our. Beauty and Black representation. Mark. The other day.
[01:19:01] I was actually watching. A good show about. Strippers. I was watching P Valley again. I was showing it to my cousin. And I realized. For the first time. That the pastor. In P Valley. Was Horace. That's it. Hi. There you go. Yeah. Big shout out. To the actor who plays Horace. Also. Big shout out. To Beyonce Daddy. I'm sorry. What? Ex step daddy. Ex step daddy. Ex step daddy as well. I don't think the acting is good here. But I do think. These actors. Are good actors.
[01:19:30] I just don't think they're. Giving this their all. And that's okay. Because we're enjoying talking about it. And. And if you're enjoying listening to it. Make sure you let us know. So. You. Mention us on social media. At Matt Scott GW. And let us all know. Slide right into our DMs. All me. Matt Scott GW. And let us know. What you think about. Beauty and Black season three. Matt. Do you have any more thoughts. About this season. Before we wrap. And prepare for season four. You know what? I will say this.
[01:20:00] Season one. I feel like I must have watched. Like three times. It's so funny. Season two. Maybe I watched it. Like one and a half time. Maybe I watched it twice even. I'm never going to watch this back. I'm never going to watch this one back. It. It's. It just sucks. It didn't give me what I needed. I'm ready. I'm ready for them to die. Don't tease me like that. So. I'm over it. I'm a little pissed. But. I'm going to feel good. By the time we come back here. Christmas Eve.
[01:20:30] To cover. I'll be in the spirit. What about you? Sum up your feelings about. Beauty and Black season three. Yeah. Season three. Like. Not busting. As the kids would say. Like no. It just did. It did not hold my attention. Like the other seasons did. Like. I could get into the wackiness. I could get into the goofiness. But this season. I felt like it did everything. That just pissed me the hell off.
[01:21:00] And I'm just like. I'm over it. So. Yeah. We'll see you in season four. Yeah. Let's see. To me. It reminds me of. How great. I enjoyed the game. On the WB. Way back when. And then when it went to the CW. And then it started to go into BET. And it got real serious. And I was like. I don't. This ain't. This ain't the show I love. You know what I'm saying. I didn't sign up for this. The BET version. Yeah. That's what this feels like. Now don't get me wrong.
[01:21:29] I don't want to disrespect the BET version. Because it was way better than this. But. I just feel like. They got away from the things. That kept my attention. And so. Hopefully they'll get a little bit more. Ridiculous. In the future. I mean. Don't get me wrong. The ninjas are ridiculous. But you know. You know. It just. It just didn't hit the same. Yeah. So. We will see. What we end up doing next. But thank you so much Matt. For once again. Taking us through your favorite show. I feel so disrespected. You.
[01:21:58] You both dragged me into this. And now it's my favorite show. You both brought me here. And it's my favorite show. It is. I have been working so hard. To watch this show. To be ready to cover it. It's been years now. We've been here for years. And you do this to me? It's been like two years. It's crazy that we need to talk about this show for two years. No. No. This is gross. You've tainted me. I used to be. A like pure man before this. Oh yeah. You're pure man watching baddies. Yeah. Sure.
[01:22:28] Baddies East. That was two years ago. I've changed. It's changed. It was just the auditions. Which is. I heard it was the best part. I don't know. I haven't got to check it out. But I've seen the clips. And they beat ass. Tiffany New York Pollard is in it. And that's why I watched. And now I'm here. So look at the pipeline. Baddies to Beauty and Black. We love it. Where do I go next? Who knows? Tell us where you can find you and your works. Yeah.
[01:22:57] You can find me on Zeus. No. You can find me. You know, I'm around. Matt, Scott, GW on all the platforms. But, you know, I'll be back here on Recap Kickback very soon to talk about the Rock of Love season finale. Very pumped. As I mentioned last episode. Talked about those white women. And Bret Michaels. And you know what? Keep an eye out. Where Mari was. Are you about to make a wrestling announcement?
[01:23:26] Yeah, Mari. Are you about to make a wrestling announcement? About white women? It don't sound like it at all. She just has a problem with me talking about Rock of Love. She just only likes when I talk about Flavor of Love or Isle of New York or any of the other shows that we can't get talking about. I was just laughing at that. You said white women. That's all I was laughing at. I appreciate it. Thank you, Mari, for laughing with me and at me and for providing the expert analysis. Mari, where could the people find you? You can find me on Blue Sky at MariTalkTooMuch. That's the number two.
[01:23:56] You can also find me on Crime Scene Pod with Sarah Carradine. Chappelle will be on with us next week. So we'll be talking about Welcome to the Family. It's a Hulu documentary series thingy. So make sure you watch and subscribe by going to CrimeScenePod.com. Also, get your cups. Thank you to everybody who's been buying the Big Brother Do-It-Yourself sticker kits. It has been so much fun making those.
[01:24:24] You can go to MariCraftTooMuch.BigCartel.com in order to get your cup. Again, I'm doing Big Brother cups. I'm doing professional football team cups. And Crime Scene merch there as well. So if you use code RECAP, you get 10% off. Oh. Could you see yourself doing a Beauty in Black cup? Absolutely not. What are you talking about? I'm going to know. What's it going to have on it?
[01:24:51] It should be like a chalk outline of body. With like track marks. I just want it to be rain. But when her ass busted from when they put that sealant in it. There's something there. Make sure I'll place y'all orders with Mari. Get you a cup. Don't be the only ones without one. Because it's, you know, all the cool people are doing it.
[01:25:16] But as far as me, you know, Gia and I, we're actually going to be doing a little series of our own. We're going to be talking about the Why Did I Get Married series. Because I'm pretty sure Why Did I Get Married 2 or again or whatever it's called. It just dropped. Yeah. Yeah. Today, 16 years after the franchise's last film. And so because of that, Gia and I are going to go through each of them. And before talking about the most recent one on Netflix.
[01:25:43] And so if you like Why Did I Get Married, you're going to enjoy me and Gia being goofy and talking about more Tyler Perry. I'm the unofficial fourth member of this panel. And then as far as the other things, you can, of course, catch me here at RecapKickback.com. YouTube.com slash at RecapKickback. But that's it for Matt, for Mari, and for Matt's favorite show, Beauty and Black. We will be back in season four. But until next time, peace.
