[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to Recap Kickback. It's me, your host Chappelle, and I am happy to announce that Bel-Air Season 3 is back on Peacock. That's right, it's been a long time since Season 2, but I'm happy to recap every episode here on Recap Kickback as I've been doing in the past on Bel-Air Post Show Recaps and on PostShowRecaps.com. But I cannot talk about Bel-Air alone. I am the freshest prince of this podcast, but I cannot do this at all without the Carlton of the podcast.

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya! Pouya, what's happening?

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: See, welcome in. I know we're gonna have new listeners here because they're gonna find us through the Recap Kickback, lovely community.

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't let this man erase history. He has always been the Carlton of the podcast. He's trying to change it up on you. Make no mistake, I am the Jeffrey of the podcast and I'm excited to be here, man.

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_04]: It's been a year and a half. We took about a year and a half to get back here, but I'm so pumped that we're here.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been forever. It's been forever and I'm really tired of these shows doing this to us making us wait so long for the next seasons of these shows.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Bro, remember when shows used to have 24 episodes and it would be like half a year worth of content and then they'd come back in six months with more?

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_04]: We've gone the other way. It's like now it's eight episodes and it's a two year wait. It's a lot.

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm hmm. And then like Peacock will do, they're gonna drop three of them on us in one week.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And so you get a large chunk of the season out the way very quickly.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Today we will be talking about episodes one and two of season three because episode three is already out.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But we're gonna wait till episode four drops and we're gonna talk about the two of those.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then every week I think we're just gonna talk about whichever episode is out at that time until we're done with the season.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And so this should be a fun ride. We have a lot to discuss and we have to catch up on all the things that we talked about the first two seasons because we've had some few changes here as we talk about Bel Air season three.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: We have a new showrunner again. I think this is the third time.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_04]: It really has become the defense against the dark arts position of television, the show running of Bel Air.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But I will say two episodes in I'm loving what I'm seeing. So I am not mad at it.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes. Carla Banks Waddles has come in as our leading showrunner here for the season three of Bel Air and they are promising that it's gonna be brighter.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It's gonna be different, but it's gonna have that same Bel Air spirit.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm hoping that we get all of that because through first two episodes, I agree.

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm already liking what I see.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So I do want to thank all the listeners here at Recap Kickback,

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: all the Bel Air Post Show Recap listeners who might have just been waiting on the Bel Air coverage to welcome you back to this podcast,

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but also welcome you to Recap Kickback if this is your first time hearing about us here.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, thank you all for subscribing.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Keep liking, keep subscribing and keep checking out all the content here on the YouTube page,

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: youtube.com slash at Recap Kickback to keep up with all of our coverage and more.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That said, Booyah, we got to jump into everything because we got so much to talk about.

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We're doing two episodes at once and we, I'm sorry, we just had so much content in these two episodes.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And I am dying to hear your opinions about certain things.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: First off, what's my, he's not playing basketball this summer.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: What's up with that?

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yo, so this, okay, this was probably the most confusing plot twist to me because the premiere really sets it up as will wants to be a guy who does it all.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_04]: He wants to be doing his basketball and business.

[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_04]: He's trying to juggle both.

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And then by the end of the first episode, he's like, ah, I'm actually going to take off on basketball in the summer.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And also, I don't have a lot of business ideas, even though I feel like the first half of the episode built up that he has a lot of drive and a lot of ideas.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really felt like he could do it all.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, why did you make me feel that way?

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And then suddenly switch up on me.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Last season, we ended with this idea that we're going to come back for season three and we're going to see will juggling everything.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He has a new relationship. It's senior year and he's got this basketball thing going.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: He's also going to be trying to take school very seriously.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we knew will was going to be juggling all the things we come back and it's not even quite senior year yet.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the summertime.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: It's wills first summer in Bel Air since school has started and things look a little bit different.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_02]: As we know, he wanted to play basketball at first, but now he's starting to look to separate himself from that identity of just a superstar basketball player.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think a lot of that is largely due to somebody who I don't know if we were sure we were going to see again.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Marlon Wayans, Lou is back.

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that we can 100% blame Lou for being like ball is life.

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And what was like, not mine because it was yours.

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely not.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not doing that.

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You liked it.

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't like it anymore.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: He definitely caused him to want to separate from it.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: That was a shocker to me.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I had no idea that a we were going to see Lou again.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: B we were going to see him immediately in the first episode.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And Lou's impact is felt instantly because we know that in the last season, a large part of Will's storyline was that all these male role models in his life, no role models as J. Cole would say, they keep letting them down, including RIP Uncle Phil.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: But Uncle Phil would let them down, too.

[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So Lou let them down.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil let them down.

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw Doc letting him down.

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And by the end of the season, his mom is saying, Will, you got to find a way to separate yourself from this idea that these men and the way that they treat you and the way that you learn from them, that doesn't necessarily have to be your identity.

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you can be something without all of these men and without your your future tied to them for a second.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought he had learned that.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But the moment we see Lewis back, it shows that Will is still kind of the same impressionable Will Smith who's looking for that father figure in his life.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And it really got in his head.

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And this was before they even had a proper interaction.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You just saw him while they were waiting for their food order.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he proceeded to put up a, you know, can can we cuss on here?

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: A real loud.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just a recap.

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Just a dog shit scrimmage from Will.

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: He was he was just airballing the hell out of everything.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_04]: He had the ball pickpocketed from like three times.

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Doc was like, leave my gym.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You do not belong here.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he got put out.

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like his basketball is suffering just from seeing Lou, even though Will would love us to believe that.

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, he's not bothered by this, but he clearly is.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Basketball practice has to run long because of Will's horrible participation so much that he misses another event that he's supposed to be at with a new character we have this season.

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We have Quentin.

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Quentin, who is the lead of, I guess, this new mentoring program that will really wants to be involved in.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: He wants will to show up and will shows up late for the interview due to his basketball trouble.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So the Lou of it all is just spiraling and snowballing into will not be able to handle other aspects of his life.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. You know, we keep juggling male role models in Will's life.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: We started off with Uncle Phil.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Then we had Lou pull up them.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Lou left.

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Then we had Doc.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And now we've got Q.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Quentin.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: He is the new male role model here by the looks of it.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm hmm.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And, uh, Quentin, you recognize his actor.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I always do this to you, Pooja, but I have to ask, do you know who this is?

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He looks familiar, but because, um, I couldn't look up his name, I couldn't check to see because I feel like I know him.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: He looks familiar.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: What do I know him from?

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is the rapper Vic Mensa.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, was not expected to see Vic here.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no way!

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he cut his hair, apparently.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, okay, uh, Vic Mensa is here.

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, some people might know him from The Chi.

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, but, uh, yeah, this is the rapper.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't recognize him with his hair short like that.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: That makes sense to me now.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's, he's Will's new role model.

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's comes in, he has this mentoring program for young black men and will can already.

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You can already tell Will is drinking the Kool-Aid.

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he talks about all the things that Quentin has.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he has a book.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: He has this.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: He has that.

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And you could tell like these are the new things that the new shiny objects that will is chasing.

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Last season was basketball.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Doc knew everything about basketball.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I gotta be just like Doc.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Now I gotta be just like, uh, Quentin here.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like for Will, he's really gotta find himself because he keeps jumping from different role model to role model and different things to different things.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So at some point he's gotta figure out what it is that he really wants to do.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure he's gotten there yet.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I feel like this summer in Bel Air is going to give him the clarity he needs.

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, but it's, it's so funny to me because he gave up basketball to focus on the business stuff.

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And then by 10 minutes into episode two, he's got a job at the country club now.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So you could have just kept basketball if you were just gonna go get a job, you know what I'm saying?

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, I mean, he will eventually try to flip this job at the country club into maybe like networking skills and stuff.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But it definitely feels like if your goal is to not juggle a lot of things and you want to get something off your plate, dropping basketball,

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: it sounds like a plan for a little bit, but picking up something else right in the meantime, you just put down one thing to put something else in your hands.

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't actually have any time to focus on this business plan.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And it shows because, uh, it looks like over the next couple of episodes, one and two, he's going to struggle with getting this business plan off the ground.

[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I had some crazy ideas.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: The watching them give their ideas up and realizing just how little they've got going in the idea department was wild.

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_04]: They do ultimately end up landing on some though, which I'm very curious to see what your thoughts on it are.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So the backstory of this whole business plan thing is that, uh, Carlton and we'll talk about Carlton and due time for sure.

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton and will have now both been accepted into this mentoring program because, uh, Quentin has recognized that they work really good as a team and he'll have them both on together.

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But as a team, they need to come up with a business plan during the summer so that Quentin can start to get them in front of investors.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And he really wants to push all of the people in the program to do this kind of stuff.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: They're dropping the ball because they have a lot going on.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously there's work, but there's also other teenage drama going on as well.

[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: There's distracting them. So Quentin gives them 48 hours in that 48 hours.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil will invite them to a networking event over at his firm and he, they will meet with several, uh, big name, uh, entrepreneurs and, uh, like, um, black moguls, I guess I would call them, um, to where they get a lot of good information.

[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they meet with the, the owner of, uh, and the founder of uncle nearest, uh, whiskey, who, as you know, I'm, I'm a whiskey guy. So, you know, this is like right up my alley. Uh, but they meet with a few business owners and, uh, and, and leaders in business that say, okay, you gotta, they give them a lot of guests. I guess a lot of, uh, like good feedback as to what they should do as far as building their brand.

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And Carlton and will decide that their brand is going to be their own story. You know, will story of being, you know, this phenomenal basketball player who wants to try and shake it up and do something else and live outside of the box. People are trying to put them in and Carlton who, well, as I said, we will talk about this, but he's a recovering addict and he has a story to tell as well. And so they're going to package that up and make that their new business proposal moving forward. And Quentin likes it. He doesn't shoot this down. He actually thinks that this has legs. They just have to put the work into it.

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. So it felt like, are they trying to become in a way agents so that they can be like the middleman to give other black entrepreneurs access to these higher ups? Is that kind of what, cause that's the vibe I, they talked about merge podcasts and stuff. I was like, are you trying to open up an agency? Is that kind of where you ended up landing?

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: To me, it comes off like they want to be influencers. Like they want to just tell their story and their story is the entire brand. You know? So it's like we have them doing like speaking events. We have them doing mentoring. We have them doing podcasts.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_02]: They have t-shirts with their, with their brand on it and stuff like that. But the whole product is just the two of them. Cause they talk about how they are the secret sauce. Right. So I would, honestly, I would understand their plan a lot better if they were the agents,

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: but it seemed like they got to the point where they realized, Hey, the two of us are really cool.

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: What if we just sell ourselves and the idea of our stories, you know?

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Because everybody can relate to being in a situation where maybe they're put in a box and they want to live outside of the box they're put in,

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: or maybe they have fallen off in a way that Carlton feels like he has.

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And they have to now rebuild their reputation and be something that they're not sure that they can't be.

[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And that is the whole goal. And like Quentin liked it. I personally thought it was kind of flimsy.

[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, all right, so what are y'all actually giving us here? You know,

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: what's the tangible item that we're getting from this?

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Y'all that's 72 hours and landed in what every two straight,

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_04]: straight man relationship ends up in, which is we should start a podcast because we're funny.

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Because you're trying to be like me.

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't try to be like me. Okay.

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Pooja and I had the same conversation. We said, Pooja,

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_02]: why would we actually have to do something when we could just talk and hope that people would listen to us?

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_02]: That'd be cool, right? We should get merch.

[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say it didn't take us talking to like eight CEOs to get here.

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_04]: We did not have that kind of an opportunity.

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So they landed on something that seemingly works for Quentin.

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And so we will see where that leads to in the future, but it did.

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: It definitely derails one of the points of drama that I thought we would have this season in the whole basketball thing,

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: because, you know,

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Will was playing essentially a basketball,

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_02]: which is around a year round basketball training where people go to become the best basketball players in the NBA.

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Eventually, you know,

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_02]: you're playing outside of school hours,

[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: but during the summer you're playing while school is going on,

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you're always playing basketball taking the summer off is a big deal,

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, because his competitors are not.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And so when he comes back from the summer,

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: they're still going to be in a basketball shape and he might have other things on his mind.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, the question is,

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: this will continue to pursue basketball after this mentorship,

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_02]: or does this become his new thing that he's leaning into for the rest of the series?

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like the combination of showing us in the preview,

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: not in the preview,

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: sorry,

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_04]: when I was catching up on the season two,

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: before I started season three,

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I did notice a moment where obviously when he brought together his high school team and Zenith to kind of scrimmage against each other,

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: the coach said,

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I've just been waiting for you to be unselfish.

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the most unselfish thing you could do by bringing in your team that you're not a part of to play against your team.

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you want your spot back next fall,

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: it's there for you.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I think we're going to end up having him go back to the high school team and that's going to be his like game on the side,

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: but maybe not right out the gate.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe in the beginning,

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: he's like,

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you know what?

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to do this.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And then he eventually gets to it.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I just don't see the season not ending with him on the basketball team.

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Him giving up basketball altogether feels a little weird,

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: but him maybe lead laying away from basketball a bit.

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like,

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_02]: okay,

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_02]: basketball was his entire identity for a season two.

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_02]: that was what he was going to do.

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_02]: That was what was going to get him out of the hood.

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_02]: As Lou would say,

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: that's in his DNA.

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think with him trying to separate himself from that,

[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I think maybe it'll become,

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: just an extracurricular like it is for a lot of people,

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and then if it pays off and it helps him go to college or helps him get into the NBA,

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: fine,

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: but it also won't be the entire thing that he's living and breathing and dying for every episode like it was last season.

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what happens with that.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We cannot talk about this show without talking about your favorite character.

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton Banks.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_02]: We had a lot of questions about Carlton last season because he was down bad.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw Carlton at his lowest.

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw drug use.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw,

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it was a lot.

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_02]: There was a lot going on with Carlton to the,

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: till we lead up to the end of the episode where he's announcing in front of his entire school,

[00:15:46] [SPEAKER_02]: basically that he is a drug addict.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: He had yelled at Ashley.

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: He had been doing a lot of underhanded things.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And now he's come clean.

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And although he still wants to go to Princeton,

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: getting into Princeton might be a lot harder now that he is admitted to drug addiction.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And now that he has gotten back from rehab.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm very happy with the direction the show took with this because we kind of saw his last day at rehab.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Then now we're just in the Carlton gets reintroduced back into the world.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really liked the approach they took to this because they have these subtle moments where you can see the,

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: the wrestling Carlton's doing because we commended him.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We also scolded him,

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: but we commended him for literally in public telling everybody I'm an addict.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't,

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I got good with lying about it.

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I got really good with hiding it.

[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm just putting it out there.

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_04]: he accepted the world that he would have moving forward.

[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But now that he's been backing out,

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it's very clear that he would like to just be given carte blanche trust.

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But there's these little subtle moments.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a,

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: there's an entire electric lock pad on the wine cellar now.

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And he can't do that.

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_04]: We saw a scene where he's getting,

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_04]: he's giving up your urine sample to uncle Phil.

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_04]: it's,

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_04]: it's something I also,

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_04]: they took the door,

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the doors off of his room.

[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't have doors on his room anymore.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_02]: This is,

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: that's a classic for my mom.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: She definitely has taken the door off the hinges in my,

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_02]: in my room before when I was a kid,

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_02]: my mom to punish me when I was a kid,

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: my mom would not only would she take the door,

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but she would take the television.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_02]: She would,

[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember she,

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_02]: she bought a TV stand for my TV and it had wheels on it.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And I remember one day coming out of school and she just rolled it right on out the door.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And all you see is the,

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: the imprint on the carpet from where the wheels had pressed for the TV.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It had been sitting for so long.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_02]: So this felt about right to me.

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I definitely could see this happening to me if I was in the same situation as Carlton,

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but you're right.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_02]: His life is drastically different now.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not like he went to rehab,

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_02]: came back and everything was the same,

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_02]: except he's no longer addicted to drugs.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: he's still,

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_02]: battling addiction.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't just go away that way,

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: but also he now has to re-earn the trust of his family.

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And he has to,

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of reintegrate himself into society in a world where now people are looking at him.

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_02]: He had a bit of a stigma about them.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: they don't think they can trust him.

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_02]: They think he's doing drugs.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_02]: They probably don't think he's a great person because of all the lying and stuff that he's done.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So Carlton's in hell and it's going to be tough for him to pull himself out of this one.

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: it's going to be an uphill battle because he also feels like he's,

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_04]: he doesn't,

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_04]: no one else is really going to understand him or get what he's gone through,

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: except for another new character that we meet on the,

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: this season.

[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And that is someone he met at rehab by the name of Amira.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Amira played by Alicia Pascal Pena.

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_02]: she's a relatively new actor or,

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_02]: young in her acting career.

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_02]: she's about 25 years old,

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but she's been in a couple of things,

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_02]: but nothing as big as this role I'd have to imagine.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_02]: and so I was like interested to see what exactly she's going to be,

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_02]: what role she's going to be playing here.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and this is a problem.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I can already tell red flags all around this woman,

[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's not,

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: she's not the issue to me.

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The issue is that in these two episodes,

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_02]: it's very clear that there's a codependency between the two of them.

[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Was established during rehab.

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And so while they were at rehab,

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_02]: they started a relationship from everything we're told in these two episodes.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_02]: That is completely just like,

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: like,

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_02]: like not supported by anybody,

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: right?

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Like everybody who's dealing with addiction or who has dealt with addiction will tell you that

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_02]: if I've been early stage,

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't need relationship,

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't need stress and you don't need something to replace your addiction with.

[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And it feels like to me,

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton and Amira might've replaced their addiction for other things with each other.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And now they are attached at the hip in a way that I don't know.

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see this ending well for the two of them together.

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was interesting.

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_04]: So in,

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_04]: when we were at the Juneteenth party and,

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_04]: and Viv talks to Amira one-on-one and she goes,

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: she's just chatting a little bit and finds out that Amira is a repeat offender and has been to rehab multiple times.

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like,

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: huh?

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Why are you putting that in here?

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's interesting.

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like,

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: this isn't good.

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I feel like right now,

[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_04]: if I'm doing a prediction,

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_04]: it feels like the show is setting it up as Amira at some point might end up falling back again.

[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe Carlton goes down with her or the better side of the story,

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_04]: which is if Carlton slides back,

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: she pulls them out of it.

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So either way,

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_04]: you're a hundred percent right.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: They are codependent.

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that her story is going to be very strongly tied to Carlton this season.

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think we're not,

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_04]: we're going to see her every episode.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was concerned with Amira because when Amira says I'm a repeat offender,

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: you can see it on Amira's face where she's like,

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you got to stay away from my boy.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause this is going to be a problem.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'd argue that maybe Carlton is the problem because we know Amira is a repeat offender.

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But Carlton is still not trustworthy.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya,

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_02]: he just got out of rehab.

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: He's been lying since the moment they got him.

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: as he walked,

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: as they walk into the room,

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_02]: he's already hiding a mirror in the bathroom when they're coming to pick him up.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So he's lying out the gate.

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's the thing.

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why I think it's going to be more likely the latter where she's going to be the reason Carlton ends up getting saved.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I feel like Carlton,

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and Viv had this look of disdain on her face when Amira said,

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a repeat offender.

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: The harsh reality is not often do people quit something.

[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: It sticks the first time,

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_04]: it's,

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_04]: it takes work.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a journey.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's a world where Carlton ends up sliding back.

[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think she's ready to accept that.

[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I think she still doesn't trust Carlton either,

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: which doesn't help that.

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think she incorrectly looks at Amira as,

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you're going to be the reason my boy slides back.

[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think that's the case at all.

[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I think Carlton has his own demons that he's battling at the moment.

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: If anybody is the reason why Carlton slides back,

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_02]: it's Carlton,

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_02]: even just the idea that immediately people are saying you shouldn't get in a

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_02]: relationship with somebody,

[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_02]: especially not another addict.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's saying,

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: okay,

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_02]: cool.

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Well,

[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_02]: we're just friends,

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: but we've already saw them kissing.

[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw them kissing in the first five minutes of the episode.

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So he's lying out the gate.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He's already doing something that they're,

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: they're telling him not to do.

[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And then by episode two,

[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_02]: when she actually tries to separate herself from him at the words of Ed Viv,

[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_02]: he goes and follows her to the meeting,

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_02]: to the,

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_02]: the addiction meetings.

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And he goes in there and he doesn't go to have a meeting,

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: to talk,

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_02]: to vent,

[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_02]: to air out his stress,

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_02]: to fight his demons.

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_02]: He goes there for the sole purpose of finding her.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like,

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_02]: bro,

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_02]: you,

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_02]: you missing the point here.

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_02]: like he's,

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_02]: he's already leaning onto her so far that she leaves the meeting.

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He's running her out of meetings.

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Now,

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: by the end,

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: they find themselves back in each other's arms.

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But again,

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_02]: in two episodes,

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_02]: you can tell that this is already going to be a rocky relationship.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And we do notice at the end of that,

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_04]: NA meeting where he ends up confessing to the room,

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_04]: his feelings,

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: she was in the hallway kind of listening in.

[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_04]: They start kissing outside.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And we do see Spencer who runs this NA meeting.

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Give a glance from his car.

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He saw it.

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_02]: He saw it.

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02]: he knows.

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's the thing.

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Caught in two episodes in,

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_02]: not only are you lying,

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_02]: but people are already picking up that you still can't be trusted.

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And I wanted to feel bad for him because,

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_02]: when he saw the,

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: the keypad,

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_02]: like you said,

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_02]: on the wine,

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_02]: the wine cellar,

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: you see that he's like,

[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_02]: man,

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: okay.

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That's tough.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: then you see that he's got to do his drug test.

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: well,

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I could feel as if he's some type of criminal,

[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_02]: like that kind of stuff makes you really want to like your heart go out for

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton because he's taken so many L's now,

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: he's at the bottom of the social hierarchy where he's used to being at the

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: top.

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_02]: he will end up having to get a job,

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_02]: which is something that he probably never thought he'd have to do as a

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: child.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and not only is he working someplace he's working as a,

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: in a service industry,

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: right?

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's doing the cleaning at the country club in front of his friends that he

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: went to school with and his former drug dealer,

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Connor.

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So he's down bad in so many ways that it just,

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_02]: it's hard not to feel bad for him.

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: But when you see that,

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: he's still back up to his old tricks.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like,

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton,

[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I want better for you,

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but damn,

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_02]: stand up.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Seriously.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Stand up.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like he's doing a good job.

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I really thought when we saw him react the way he did to the lock

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_04]: pad,

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that he's going to struggle with this a lot more.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_04]: The other thing,

[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and we've not talked about her yet.

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Your favorite character and Ashley.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley is not hiding anything in the beginning.

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She's very much like,

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_04]: ah,

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_04]: y'all are dancing around the topic.

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's talk about rehab.

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_04]: How do you feel about it?

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel like you're going to recover?

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you feel like you're going to be good?

[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like,

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_04]: actions speak louder than words.

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see.

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley,

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I wish Ashley was my favorite character,

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: but damn,

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: you didn't see her at all in season two until the end.

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Remember she,

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_02]: we had no Ashley storyline for like a season and a half.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she likes her teacher.

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_04]: they fired her teacher.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Bye Ashley.

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll deal with the teacher firing through everyone else's lens,

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_04]: but you.

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And when we come back to this season,

[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_02]: we see that Ashley is physically looking down upon her family from like

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: the bird's eye view and identifying that this is a family that is

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_02]: very good at hiding their problems.

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Very good at looking shiny and rich and beautiful.

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and everything is going right.

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Successful.

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_02]: But she's up there with her friend.

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I think her name is Olivia.

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're looking down thinking,

[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_02]: all right,

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: this is a,

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_02]: this look cool,

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's definitely some demons that these people have.

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And number one on Ashley's list is definitely Carlton.

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I think that you have to remember that last season,

[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley is the one who caught the brunt of Carlton's,

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: like his Coke fury that day,

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that day.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He was like,

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: he kind of,

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he grabbed her and everything,

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So it got to the point where she was physically afraid of him.

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that now she's like,

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: all right,

[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: you back,

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm gonna need to see some change.

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: we can't just come in here,

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: just trusting your word.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Although we will want to,

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: we love you.

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone with the family,

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_04]: but by episode two,

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like it got a lot more lighthearted.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Her and Carlton embrace.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It looks like it's going to go in a better direction.

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we also see her try and play matchmaker as well.

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_04]: A little parent trap action.

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Now this is fun.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_02]: This is fun.

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: because we have been very vocal.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We are team jazz here,

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: but jazz was also,

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: he was messing up last season.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_02]: He really was.

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_02]: There was,

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_02]: he was messing up.

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02]: There was a lot of drama with jazz and Hillary.

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary has gone on,

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and she has taken a month.

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: She was supposed to go on a week long vacation with her new boo,

[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: but she has taken a month long vacation and come back with a fiance.

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Her,

[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_02]: her old flame Lamarcus,

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_02]: the family's favorite,

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: is back.

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And him and Hillary are hitting it off.

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything seems to be going well,

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but straight out the gate,

[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_02]: you can kind of tell that there's still something there with,

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary and jazz.

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It ain't went nowhere.

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: By episode two,

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_02]: they already kissing again.

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: They hate kissing,

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: they're hate kissing each other.

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like,

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the best kind of kissing.

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya hate kissing.

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like,

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate you.

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate you too.

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like,

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: this is,

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: this is okay.

[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_02]: This is tits.

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I like this.

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Turn it up.

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So are you a fan of watching this or have you been?

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: don't make me sound like a watcher.

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_02]: That sounds so creepy.

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I love,

[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm definitely going to see it.

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: If this don't happen,

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: show it to me for sure.

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_02]: But,

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: no,

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought that it was very interesting that they,

[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they started off basically in an argument,

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_02]: through the first episode,

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: it's clear that there is,

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_02]: things are tense.

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Jazz says that Hillary is a runner.

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: She attracts star,

[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_02]: she's going to run away when it gets hard as they say,

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And so he's telling her that and saying,

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_02]: you're going to leave this other dude anyway.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't even know why you wasting your time.

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So to one up jazz,

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: she goes and makes her big announcement right in front of him about,

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_02]: how she is now engaged to LaMarcus.

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Now,

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: fast forward to episode two,

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley,

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: as you say,

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_02]: is playing matchmaker.

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: She brings Hillary to,

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: to see jazz,

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: at his record store.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We find out that jazz is having some issues with keeping the

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_02]: business running.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And later on jazz,

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll then go to uncle Phil's networking event as well with Will and

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton,

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: the one we talked about earlier.

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And in that time,

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_02]: uncle Phil will talk to jazz about investing in his business.

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_02]: At first I thought,

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: okay,

[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: that's cool of uncle Phil to really take a liking for jazz.

[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He's basically a,

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: a,

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_02]: a tangential part of the family.

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_02]: he's not in the main crew,

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but we'll,

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: we'll love jazz.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley clearly loves jazz.

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So he ain't going nowhere,

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: but jazz correctly picks up that Hillary has,

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I sent uncle Phil to do this.

[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so he tells Hillary,

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: he doesn't want any charity from her and the two start arguing.

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And at that point,

[00:28:43] [SPEAKER_02]: that's where it goes from.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: What seemed like hate to,

[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: some more passionate feelings.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: It was never hate.

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_04]: It's,

[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_04]: it's still this like weird layer of,

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_04]: cause she does tell,

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: she does tell people that like,

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah,

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: when I left to go with Lamarcus to Paris,

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I was unsure.

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But now after a month,

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel sure.

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you couldn't be sure because the minute you saw him,

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_04]: it was clear that,

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah,

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I was making up that.

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I was sure.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not sure yet.

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You are not sure.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: friend,

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: you are not sure about this because also we're seeing it,

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: as,

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: as the viewers,

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: we're seeing the reactionary.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_04]: he said all these things to me about how it's not going to work out.

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what?

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me shove it in his face.

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Uno reverse card.

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We're engaged.

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's announce it in front of everybody at this party.

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So I 100% feel like there's a lot of feelings still there on resolve.

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And I do like the,

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I've never done the,

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: the angry kissing to the way you described it,

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_04]: but I definitely love a good bit of banter and back and forth in a

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_04]: relationship.

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So them taking jabs at each other.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not mad at,

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I like seeing that.

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know,

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_02]: they want to make it seem like,

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_02]: they hate each other,

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_02]: but they both make really valid points about how,

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_02]: if y'all hate each other,

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: why y'all always around each other?

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Jazz has not stopped coming to the family functions.

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary just let Ashley drag her to the record store against her will.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Hillary,

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: you couldn't have put your foot down.

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Really?

[00:30:07] [SPEAKER_02]: You just had to go.

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You could have been like,

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to do this.

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't care that I said whatever you want for today.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh huh.

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I just,

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm grown and I don't have to,

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but you don't hate them that much.

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: You keep finding yourself in this man's orbit.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's very clear that,

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_02]: there's still some feelings there.

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And so now that they've kissed,

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02]: who you,

[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: does this get back to LaMarcus?

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Does this secret kiss become a storyline that we need to talk about moving

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: forward?

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Bro,

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: there's a lot of secret kisses in this,

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_04]: in this show right now.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think another one's coming.

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I think another one is coming with a certain chef.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like,

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_04]: so not that listen,

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_04]: the cooking's good.

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what else is good?

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I think,

[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I think this kiss will get back to LaMarcus in some way,

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: shape or form.

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_04]: If not this kiss,

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_04]: another kiss with these two involved.

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: that would be tough,

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: but,

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: you're right.

[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_02]: There's some secret kissing going on in this,

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_02]: in this show for sure.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_02]: one of the secret kisses that we have left over from last season is between

[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Erica and uncle Phil,

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_02]: uncle Phil.

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: he's got,

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_02]: okay.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see if I can put this together.

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So,

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Erica and uncle Phil,

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: they,

[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: she always liked him.

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess she's like frenemies with aunt Viv.

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I think something happened while they were on a break or something like that.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Who knows?

[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But now we saw the last season ended where Erica is helping uncle Phil and his,

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and his new company,

[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_02]: his new business venture.

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_02]: she kisses uncle Phil.

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Now,

[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_02]: uncle Phil does not do anything crazy.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: he does say,

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey,

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to shut this down.

[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: We're not doing that no more.

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_02]: That's in the path.

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Let it go.

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But he does not tell aunt Viv in the last season ends with him getting a

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: text about lunch from Erica.

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So I thought when we came back from this,

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_02]: we might come back to seeing what happened at that lunch or something like

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that.

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's clear that it might've just stayed business related.

[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil's business seems to be doing well,

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but Erica is not doing well.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: She is really struggling with this secret Pouya.

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't really know why she would kiss this man.

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: If she thought she couldn't keep this to herself.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I think she's guilt ridden because of,

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I think if he had kissed back reciprocated,

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that makes it a lot easier.

[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause then you're in cahoots with this secret.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Whereas right now it's like,

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: okay,

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: this is a secret,

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_04]: but you don't mess with me like that.

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And I feel both stupid and guilty for doing this to and this in a weird way.

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_04]: so I think it's that she doesn't know how to,

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_04]: how to approach it,

[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_04]: how to move away from this.

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And I,

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't be easy to then,

[00:32:29] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_04]: be in the office with him day after day,

[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_04]: or like see him in a work way day after day,

[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_04]: especially when maybe,

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't,

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to put words in her mouth,

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_04]: but did you bring him in and give his business,

[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_04]: his firm business?

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Because you thought you could something else out of the deal.

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And now you did it,

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: but you're stuck giving the business.

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_04]: that's not what you wanted.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But it was very funny at the networking event to see how much she kept

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_04]: avoiding and like,

[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_04]: what did she think was going to happen?

[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_04]: You be chill.

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_02]: she's,

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_02]: she's throwing back shots at the,

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_02]: at the event because she's that stressed.

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and then says to Carlton at one point,

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_02]: my BS meter is on another level now because I just don't trust you.

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm,

[00:33:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm more keyed into the things that you've told me in the past,

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_02]: that you were lying about the things that you were trying to mislead me

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_02]: with.

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I was choosing to ignore those things,

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but the BS meter is on point now and I'm not missing anything.

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And it looks like she ain't missing anything when it comes to uncle Phil

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: either.

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause she picked up on the Erica stuff and she brought it to his

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02]: attention.

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_02]: She said,

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Phil,

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: was Erica acting weird?

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And uncle Phil just point blank.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think nothing's,

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's nothing to worry about there.

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And just kind of tries to move on.

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But it was so not slick.

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't sloppy.

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_02]: it wasn't smooth at all.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And so you can kind of see his face.

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_02]: don't worry about that.

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Leave that alone.

[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like,

[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_02]: are you sure?

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing there.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing to see there.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing to see there.

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah,

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_02]: it looks like she is picking up that there might be a little bit more,

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_02]: than what they're telling her.

[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I think she's fully going to uncover it.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's going to come to a head.

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I think either.

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think the,

[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_04]: the most dramatic way it could happen is if she ends up buckling and telling

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: it.

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think Phil's going to say anything.

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: He's kept it pretty,

[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_04]: pretty even and pretty quiet,

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: but also Chappelle.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_04]: The other thing we haven't talked about yet is they've not had sex in a

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_04]: while.

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And they,

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: they were talked about potentially having to be a couple who has to put

[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_04]: sex on the schedule.

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And then they were supposed to,

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_04]: after Juneteenth,

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_04]: they didn't.

[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And as the Juneteenth party,

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: they didn't.

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And as Phil goes to turn off the lights to go to bed,

[00:34:38] [SPEAKER_04]: we see that.

[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And Viv was pretending to be asleep.

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_04]: She just didn't want to have the sex.

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She didn't want to.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been over a month and they haven't had time to do it.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Or maybe they're just not,

[00:34:50] [SPEAKER_02]: they just don't feel like it.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe if you're not into it,

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe at different times,

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_02]: the uncle feels not into it,

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: but for whatever reason,

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: they're not connecting.

[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure it's hard,

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_02]: not like that,

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: but you know,

[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure Carlton being away at rehab.

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Not,

[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: it's obviously not that hard,

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm sure it's difficult to,

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: to,

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: to,

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: to move forward like this.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And to get intimate with somebody while y'all are dealing with the stress of,

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe questioning your parenting.

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I think both of them were talking about how Uncle Phil said,

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I just can't always be the bad cop.

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And Viv said,

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like I've always been too nice.

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: like I feel like,

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_02]: they start questioning each other so much to where when they're trying to make all

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_02]: these other business moves happen,

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_02]: they're in Essence Magazine.

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And Viv is the head of this Neiman Institute,

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_02]: fellowship again.

[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And Uncle Phil's got his thing going.

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like,

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_02]: they just don't have time.

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But when you see Aunt Viv is faking sleep,

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: it's like,

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe she's just not quite into it right now.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: She's just not feeling it.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And that seems like a little bit of that spark is gone.

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's a lot of things going on in this,

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: in this family right now that are new changes,

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_04]: The Carlton change is a big one.

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Will changing up on his plans on what he's doing,

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_04]: but then also,

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_04]: and Viv has this whole career that's like back on track and that she's doing.

[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Phil is in a whole,

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_04]: doing a new venture now with his work.

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think there's just a lot of changes that happen.

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And the combination of both fatigue and like you said,

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_04]: mentally not being there,

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I think have definitely contributed to this.

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And which is why I think that eventually,

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: if Aunt Viv was to hear something,

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I could see some ripples at causing this relationship to strain further.

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I could.

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And sadly,

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_02]: we have more reason to think this might stray,

[00:36:30] [SPEAKER_02]: because as you've alluded to before,

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_02]: there's a new cook in the kitchen.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Aunt Viv has a new assistant and she,

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_02]: her assistant Cruz has gone out and found a caterer for Uncle Phil's event.

[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Now we know Aunt Viv has pointed out to Uncle Phil,

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_02]: especially in these episodes,

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but in the past that she's not really into being his sidekick anymore when it

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: comes to the things that he wants to do.

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_02]: She wants to really focus on her own stuff,

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_02]: but in this episode,

[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: she's still doing that.

[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So Cruz takes over and goes and finds her a caterer and we meet Sharif.

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And Sharif is a walking red flag as well.

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: This man is muscles and beard and cooking,

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I think at that point.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He's the whole package,

[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Chappelle.

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_02]: We got to get away from him.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_02]: She's got an accent.

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_02]: We got to get her away from him.

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: We got to get him out.

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_02]: We got to get her out of there.

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I feel like she's going to fall.

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Now it does look like she doesn't really notice that the man is flirting

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: with her,

[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's clear Hillary even catches it and says,

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna tell my daddy,

[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_02]: but she,

[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_02]: she probably should tell her daddy.

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_02]: She probably should mention it.

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna lie to you,

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary.

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_02]: This might be your chance to save the family.

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_04]: What he's not doing.

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_04]: If he acts on it short,

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_04]: but he's not doing anything.

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Nah,

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: we can find complimentary.

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: He literally said,

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: no.

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Pause Viv.

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_04]: How are you going to tell me you have an adult daughter?

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you look like you could be sisters,

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_04]: but it is a lot smoother than I am doing right now.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: to be fair,

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_02]: it looks good.

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_02]: It's sure.

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_02]: She could be Hillary's older sister.

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_02]: If Hillary has a sister who's 20 years older than her,

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But I,

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that again,

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary even picked up on it.

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I seen Cruz kind of looking.

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And by the end of the second episode,

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_02]: we even get flowers.

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh,

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_02]: a flower arrangement with a letter from Sharif.

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah,

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I need to change your mind about the goat or whatever.

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like,

[00:38:10] [SPEAKER_02]: what are you doing?

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Get out of here.

[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's too far.

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Up until this point,

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I was all,

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_04]: cause listen,

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Chappelle,

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_04]: you flirted with me before you flirted with a lot of people.

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Go to hell.

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just saying,

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_04]: should Liana have a problem with that?

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You flirt with Liana.

[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Should I have a problem with that?

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: it's hard with nobody,

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_02]: baby.

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what you talk about.

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_02]: That's not in my,

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: in my vocabulary.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe you have shown me boxers that not many people have had the.

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Whoa,

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: whoa,

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: whoa,

[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: whoa.

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Listen,

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: if everybody wants to see the box,

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll go get them right now.

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Right now.

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's seen them.

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear you.

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear you.

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: just because you have a little rapport with somebody doesn't necessarily mean you about

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_02]: to do anything with them.

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time,

[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_02]: at the same time,

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: he crossed,

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_04]: he crossed the bridge too far with the flowers and that letter that maybe I have to change

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: your mind on the goat.

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: no.

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Also,

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to see if you remember you caught this.

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: So to me,

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like a little Easter egg,

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_04]: but it might be nothing.

[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So when they've had their first meal as a family after rehab,

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_04]: they're having sushi and,

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_04]: and Viv mentions,

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_04]: sorry,

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_04]: we,

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_04]: we're having sushi because I don't have time to cook.

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And then everyone's like,

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_04]: it's not that you just can't cook.

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And everyone had a good laugh about it.

[00:39:24] [SPEAKER_04]: If we see her cook something this season.

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh,

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_02]: she better not learn no recipes.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: If she show up to the function with some goat,

[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm leaving.

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm leaving.

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey,

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't.

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And he told her where to go for the spices.

[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't think that she's going to hit him up.

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like,

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_04]: can you show me where those spices are?

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil,

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_02]: you got to see through this,

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: brother.

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to see through this.

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to see.

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We got to shut this down.

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_02]: We can't see.

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And you know,

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: in the past,

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_02]: if this has been thrown a few temptations,

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_02]: but I mean,

[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_02]: they threw Michael Ealy and the machine fold,

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but here,

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_02]: here,

[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_02]: this seems like it's too close.

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It feels like he's more likely to make anybody fold.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_04]: He's way better than Michael.

[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a,

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: he's a,

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: he's a photo boss.

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah,

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_04]: this is,

[00:40:07] [SPEAKER_02]: this is not okay.

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And also because Ed Viv is having a weak moment.

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_02]: She's down,

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_02]: she's down bad.

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: She hasn't,

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: she hasn't done the things in a month.

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Her,

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: her,

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_02]: her family's kind of in disarray a little bit.

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: she can tell something's going on with her husband.

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton lied to her.

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_02]: just,

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_02]: just,

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: just a little appreciation for Ed Viv is probably what she's looking for.

[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And Sharif is ready to appreciate her in all the ways.

[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And so,

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I am concerned who,

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I am not worried,

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: but I am cautious about the,

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: how this could look with Erica being in uncle Phil's back pocket kind of,

[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and with Sharif,

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_02]: hiding in Ed Viv's bushes,

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_02]: so to speak.

[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It's weird.

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I don't want,

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm rooting against Erica,

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_04]: but I kind of like Sharif.

[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Get out of here.

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Go to hell.

[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Listen,

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_04]: number one is still uncle Phil and Ed Viv,

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_04]: obviously.

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But Sharif's cool.

[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Sharif's cool.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He,

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: he,

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: he,

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: he,

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: he can go,

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: but he can go.

[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_02]: We can find other caterers.

[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary,

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_02]: get your ass back in the kitchen.

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause Hillary,

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary has not cooked.

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear jet setting around the world,

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_02]: skinny dipping in,

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: in,

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_02]: the Mediterranean and joining the mile high club and all that kind of stuff.

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But she is,

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_02]: she hasn't cooked in a while.

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And we also find out that her content house is no more.

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: she comes home to the content house and her crew is gone except for her

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_02]: number one friend of me,

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Ivy,

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_02]: who is still there to say,

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary,

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_02]: we've been waiting,

[00:41:35] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm the only one who stuck it out.

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the,

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the fickle world of being an influencer.

[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Everyone's trying to keep on top of trends,

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_04]: keep going.

[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_04]: If you took a break for a month and you expected everyone to wait for

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you,

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_04]: that didn't happen,

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_04]: but it seems like all the influencing,

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_04]: all the influencing,

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_04]: power she has still strong because she's getting all this free merch,

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_04]: free gear.

[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_04]: There's talk of Versace.

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So she's doing well,

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_04]: but we do hear that she misses cooking.

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_04]: She definitely misses cooking,

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_04]: which was when we first met her,

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_04]: the cornerstone to her career.

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And now it's kind of taken a little bit of a backseat with this other

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_04]: stuff.

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God.

[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you remember the,

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_04]: the sexy cooking and like the storyline that we had with Hillary?

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary?

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course.

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember the sexy cooking.

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Are you kidding me?

[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I still have a bookmark.

[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_02]: How did that end again?

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Remind me.

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing,

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: nothing.

[00:42:27] [SPEAKER_02]: They found out and was like,

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary,

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: you got to stop.

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think,

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: what the content house owner guy that they were working with,

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: like the manager was trying to exploit her or whatever.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And they like took it out of content.

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It was posting and going viral and stuff like that.

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And so eventually she had to buy herself out the content house.

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe.

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how we got there.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But,

[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Coco Jones has done in a sexy way.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Everything she does,

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: everything I remember the North remembers.

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_02]: and so,

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I think she misses cooking,

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: but also I think she misses being an influencer on her own accord.

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: she's getting all those deals and that,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the,

[00:43:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the free stuff.

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's still in like,

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: like she's still a popular influencer,

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_02]: but not because of anything she's doing.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_02]: They're doing it because of her new relationship with LaMarcus.

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: they said that the video that she had with LaMarcus went viral and that's the most view she's ever had on anything.

[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_02]: She's getting more known for this relationship than anything else that she's doing.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that Hillary starting to lose sight of the things that we knew about Hillary coming into season one.

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of that stuff is gone.

[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And now she's kind of on the,

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: the,

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: the rollercoaster ride of this relationship and she doesn't have a lot of agency and what's going on with her own career.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Which definitely is understandable.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: she,

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_04]: her whole start to the show was she wanted to cook her way,

[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_04]: do her own thing.

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_04]: The magazine she was looking to go in to business with did not approve of her,

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: her meals and how different they were.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: She was like,

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to gentrify myself for you.

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Then she found herself,

[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_04]: going on a journey and some of this content house makes her own content house only to come back to,

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: all right,

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm now LaMarcus's partner.

[00:44:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's kind of how I'm going to,

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: everyone knows me.

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's kind of what I'm going to be known for.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_04]: which I think could be another factor.

[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Chappelle to maybe is that relationship not lasting.

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Also what they got engaged after.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_04]: How long were they dating before this Paris trip?

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Remind me,

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_04]: this hasn't been that long.

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but the story was that they were going to have a future and then he went off to basketball.

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So they had already laid the foundation.

[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So they just,

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_02]: they wanted that old thing back.

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And after I guess a month or so of dating and stuff,

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:44:39] [SPEAKER_02]: they got back into that old groove that they used to have.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And now,

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_04]: do you think LaMarcus is what Trevor was to the fresh prince?

[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Are you asking me if I think LaMarcus is going to plummet to his death?

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's going to have the death.

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But is this,

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: because I was thinking that he's going to have the death.

[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I honestly,

[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_02]: it crossed my mind in the first episode.

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie to you.

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_04]: my,

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_04]: oh my,

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_04]: my only question is,

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: because he is in,

[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_04]: they're engaged.

[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Hillary marries Trevor or Hillary accepts the proposal as Trevor dies on this,

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_04]: when he went jumping out of that plane.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So I guess what I'm asking is,

[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_04]: is this the replacement or will we see a Trevor in the future?

[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: We've been begging for the Trevor thing.

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It happened.

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what,

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_02]: what it is about the two of us,

[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_02]: but we're like,

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_02]: listen,

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_02]: somebody needs to skydive to their death.

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Or this ain't,

[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_02]: or this ain't my fresh prince.

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_02]: we've been able to deal with a lot of the changes.

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_02]: It's dark,

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_02]: it's gritty,

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but bring us that,

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_02]: bring us,

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_02]: give us some of that.

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's any way anybody would laugh about it.

[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I think people laughed when Trevor died in the first prince.

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was playing for comedy.

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Dude,

[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_04]: there was a laugh track when he died.

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_04]: There was literally a laugh track.

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a laugh track.

[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_04]: This would be so sad if someone here died.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_02]: this will,

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_02]: oh no,

[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_02]: we would not laugh.

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We would not laugh.

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But then probably afterwards we get on this podcast and laugh because it would be,

[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_02]: it would be crazy that they actually tried to pull that off.

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if we're going to get a Trevor.

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that LaMarcus is probably going to slide into that Trevor spot for a while.

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And that we're probably just using this as a placeholder for what would be,

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It looks like jazz might be that one true couple that we're waiting on.

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Jazz and Hillary to link up.

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Ash is rooting for it.

[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Other people are rooting for it,

[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_02]: but we'll have to see if it actually pays off or ends up leading to anything.

[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You know?

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it will.

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think jazz,

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_04]: this is the one big difference between Bel Air and Fresh Prince is that jazz is actively a love interest of Hillary's.

[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Whereas in Fresh Prince,

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_04]: jazz is despised by Hillary until eventually they get to a place of like potential.

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_04]: She respects him some more.

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd have to remember that switch up there,

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_04]: but no romantic links there.

[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So I thought,

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: listen,

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley said it.

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll set it.

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_04]: We've said it.

[00:46:52] [SPEAKER_04]: We're team jazz here.

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We're team jazz.

[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But Pouya,

[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_02]: most importantly,

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_02]: we are the number one team Jeffrey podcast on the,

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_02]: in the,

[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_02]: in the world.

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_02]: number one,

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_02]: there's not a,

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_02]: there's just,

[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_02]: there's not a more pro Jeffrey Bel Air podcast in existence.

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I promise it.

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I guarantee it.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So we have to talk about our boy because although last season they played in our face about whether Jeffrey would be back in the house,

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_02]: out of the house,

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_02]: is Jeffrey going to be Jeffrey back?

[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya,

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_02]: he back.

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We got our boy back.

[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_04]: He's back and he's beefing up security.

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_04]: He's involved again.

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like,

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_04]: he never left.

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And I love every bit of it.

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a little nervous for Jeffrey.

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little nervous about Jeffrey boy.

[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I got to.

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh.

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie to you.

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_02]: This is,

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_02]: this is tough.

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause you're right.

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_02]: He's beefing up security.

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_02]: The security that they have with the banks is they got surveillance cameras.

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously he's still stalking these kids.

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause he knows exactly when we'll go to visit Lou and all that stuff.

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But he's got these new state of the art keypads at the bank's residence.

[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But there's also another place with these state of art keypads.

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And one,

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and one happens to be a random ass apartment in the area.

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And cause it looks like Jeffrey has now moved,

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_02]: moved his son,

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick into an apartment,

[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_02]: into a safe house,

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_02]: if you will,

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_02]: with beefed up security of its own to keep him safe from Jeffrey's enemies back in London.

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So last season we ended up with Jeffrey getting a photo of him and Frederick at a diner that they were at,

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_04]: which he started getting worried that,

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_04]: his past life is chasing him.

[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So he brings Frederick over here.

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_04]: He has them all safe and secure.

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like,

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_04]: this is nice.

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They're bonding.

[00:48:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He's teaching him out of box.

[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that was cool.

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_04]: and then at the networking event,

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I got happy.

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause Frederick.

[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Frederick and Carlton and will,

[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_04]: we're hanging out,

[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_04]: chopping it up.

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like,

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I want this to be a trio.

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_04]: This would be so sick.

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: only for will to stumble and eavesdrop onto a conversation of Frederick talking to somebody on the phone,

[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_04]: talking about how,

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeffrey doesn't know anything.

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And,

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_04]: we're all good.

[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeffrey has no idea.

[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And my hope is that this is a goose chase.

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like,

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_04]: he's talking to his mom or he's talking to somebody else that is going to surprise.

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeffrey was something good because I swear to God,

[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_04]: if you take Jeffrey out of the show,

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_04]: we're going to have problems.

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_04]: There better not be.

[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_04]: You better not have weaponized his own son against him.

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not ready for that level of heartache.

[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just not.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_02]: this is tough.

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_02]: We know in the Fresh Prince,

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_02]: the source material,

[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick only shows up once.

[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And he is,

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_02]: he ran off by will because will catches on that.

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a scammer.

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_02]: he has no intent of,

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_02]: being a butler like,

[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_02]: like Jeffrey and all the other lies he would tell it.

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's dipping out with a bunch of money.

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he's basically coming as a scam and then he leaves.

[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We watched a different story of Frederick in the last season or so.

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: so that's not the Frederick that we were presented here.

[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But with this whisper,

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_02]: conversation happening on the phone,

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I just,

[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I know that the show could easily be setting us up for failure.

[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we'll take this information and runs with it.

[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And it turns out it's nothing,

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but I can't trust Frederick because I know where Frederick came from.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I know that in the source material,

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_02]: this man is not to be trusted.

[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like trusting Luke.

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_02]: it's like,

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't do my,

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't do that because as a Fresh Prince fan,

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that would be unwise,

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I think that there's probably,

[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_02]: there's some smoke here.

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think there might be fire here as well.

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think that could end really badly.

[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I think Frederick bread crumbing Jeffrey a little bit to saying like,

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I've heard on the streets that you used to roll with this gang or whatever.

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And then ultimately Jeffrey opens up to him.

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_04]: My mind starts to wander.

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like,

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_04]: okay,

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_04]: so did he get recruited by the same person that wanted Jeffrey out?

[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how it feels.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is his initiation.

[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_04]: It is almost how it feels like right now.

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Bring us your daddy.

[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's,

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so.

[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I honestly think so.

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey tells a story about how he was a top boy in London and then he

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_02]: switched over to another gang,

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_02]: the Hill boys or whatever.

[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he became like second in command over there.

[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And he had to murder the guy who was in charge because when Jeffrey had

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick,

[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_02]: when he got,

[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_02]: when he had his son,

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_02]: he wanted out and it's blood in blood out.

[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And so they were going to kill him.

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And they got,

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_02]: he murdered to save himself and escape to the U S.

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Now all of a sudden Frederick's back asking a bunch of questions about

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey.

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just,

[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe that.

[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe that to be a coincidence.

[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like that this all happens and people know,

[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_02]: right.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: That Jeff,

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: that they're onto him.

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Now why Frederick would be doing this.

[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And also they would be sending Jeffrey pictures.

[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_02]: That that's kind of odd.

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_02]: like that's sending Jeffrey pictures of these interactions.

[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And if Frederick's in on it,

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_02]: like,

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_02]: what does that do?

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Is that just a scare Jeffrey?

[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause if you want to surprise him,

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't want him to know that they're onto him.

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the perfect plan.

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Chappelle.

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_04]: They show this photo to Jeffrey.

[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Jeffrey then says,

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God,

[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_04]: they're after Frederick.

[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_04]: They know where Frederick is.

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_04]: He's linked to me.

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I got to keep him safe.

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Walks him through the code.

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't,

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_04]: he gets in,

[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_04]: he,

[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_04]: he has full access now.

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_04]: just by proxy of association.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's kind of their in.

[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Otherwise I think Jeffrey had been doing a good job of,

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_04]: setting up all the walls.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_02]: that's true.

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: this isn't great.

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I just,

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't trust Frederick at all.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the will,

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_02]: will seeing or hearing the phone call happen.

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_02]: That was enough for me to be like,

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm out.

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not in,

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not in on this because I just can't trust it.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You're right.

[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: That picture absolves Frederick in a way to where Jeffrey wouldn't even think that

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick's involved because he was in the photo.

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It does look like they're after Frederick.

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And so that's going to bring Frederick closer to Jeffrey.

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And then if somebody needs to strike,

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick will be right there and striking distance in this safe house that

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey has set up for him.

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a little bit of faith in Jeffrey though.

[00:52:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Not gonna lie to you.

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_02]: This is our secret agent.

[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_02]: he might be a butler.

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But this is a seat.

[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_02]: This man is double seven,

[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I just really don't,

[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I know that it looks like the odds are probably going to be against him in

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_02]: this one,

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_02]: but I just feel like Jeffrey gonna know he gonna catch on.

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Frederick gonna try to move and Jeffrey gonna be one step ahead of

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: him.

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just,

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: to me,

[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_02]: it feels like that's what our Jeffrey's got to bring to the table on

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_02]: this one.

[00:53:17] [SPEAKER_04]: A hundred.

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see that montage of him boxing alone?

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey,

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_02]: look,

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey ain't the one to play with.

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm saying.

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Like go more of this,

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_02]: more of this.

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like they've,

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_04]: he,

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_04]: no one has ever made a Butler seem quote unquote as macho as this iteration

[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_04]: of Jeffrey.

[00:53:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I absolutely love this character.

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I think,

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_04]: um,

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_04]: what's his name?

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Jimmy has been doing a phenomenal job portraying this character.

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_04]: And I,

[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I love how UK he gets around,

[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Frederick,

[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_04]: it gets more.

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You can,

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it.

[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I was afraid for a second.

[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_02]: We might hear some of that rap.

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I was very nervous.

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I,

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_04]: cause you secretly listen to,

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_04]: to don't even play.

[00:54:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't even imagine.

[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_02]: we covered super sale here on,

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_02]: recap,

[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_02]: kick back the premiere with the,

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the,

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_02]: was it good though?

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Podcast.

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_02]: They came on to talk about the premiere and I just,

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you watched it,

[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's,

[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_02]: this is way too much.

[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We're just reading the first episode.

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I need to wait.

[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_02]: you could definitely watch it because season two for super sale has been,

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_02]: has been renewed,

[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_02]: has been renewed in Netflix.

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So it will be out,

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_02]: in the next couple of years,

[00:54:28] [SPEAKER_02]: probably.

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah.

[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And I can see us talking about it in the future,

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_02]: but I'm just not a fan.

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not,

[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_02]: you can't keep that British nonsense over there.

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_02]: but well,

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_04]: speaking of music real quick,

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_04]: just another PSA that Belair has some of the best music on television,

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_04]: in my opinion.

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So good.

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_02]: opening up with that sunshine song by,

[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_02]: by fat Joe,

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_02]: been waiting on that.

[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_02]: If to me,

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_02]: it made it feel like,

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_02]: okay,

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_02]: this is summertime.

[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It really set the mood in a way that,

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know the song summertime by the fresh Prince does,

[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_02]: it's like,

[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_02]: when you hear it,

[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_02]: you think it puts you in a place,

[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And for me seeing them at the country club with all the,

[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_02]: the bright summer vision and then like the pools and all that kind of

[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff,

[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_02]: the soundtrack really did,

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_02]: take it to the next level.

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I totally agree.

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We have not talked about Will's love interest in these two episodes at

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_02]: all.

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,

[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_02]: because Will and Lisa,

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_02]: they're,

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_02]: they're doing a no labels thing right now.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And it seems like that was Lisa's choice.

[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Lisa came up with that idea.

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Which it looks like it's working out all great.

[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh,

[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_04]: it looks like they're,

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_04]: they're,

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_04]: they found a way to navigate through it.

[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They're having a good time.

[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_04]: There seems to be zero friction in the relationship until the end of

[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_04]: episode two.

[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It looked to be good.

[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But and Viv a little messy.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And Viv is a little messy.

[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think,

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah,

[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_02]: it's very obvious because throughout we will see that,

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Lisa might be just casually the,

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_02]: friend with benefits right now,

[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_02]: or the no label as they are saying.

[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But,

[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and,

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and they'll still been kicking it with Ivy.

[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie,

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Not,

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: sorry,

[00:56:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie,

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie is back.

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie is back.

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And she,

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: she has the other potential love interest here.

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: as I said,

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie and Viv bonded last season,

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_02]: working closely together.

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And by the end of episode one,

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and Viv,

[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_02]: well,

[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess by the,

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_02]: by the end of episode one and two,

[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and Viv has not only invited Jackie to talk to will about her new audition for

[00:56:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Juilliard and kind of where they are and,

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and where she's planning on moving,

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess in her career,

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_02]: but also,

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie is going to be working at the country club as well.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_02]: she has now got a job as the yoga instructor instructor at the country club.

[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to be working really close to Carlton and will who are the pit pigs

[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_02]: now.

[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm very interested to see what happens here because Jackie and will,

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_02]: will's not technically in a relationship.

[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie seems like she's still into it.

[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_02]: What do we think is going to happen here?

[00:57:06] [SPEAKER_02]: You're with this love triangle.

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Is this even a love triangle or are we just waiting on Lisa to get out the

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_02]: way?

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: what do you mean?

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: We waited until Lisa get out of the way.

[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[00:57:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Lisa's who we're rooting for.

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we?

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a,

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_02]: she don't want no labels on this.

[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_04]: She's not giving us what we want.

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm tired of this love Pentagon that we have with.

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Lisa having links with Carlton and will,

[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_04]: but then now Carlton has a mirror.

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And now will has Jackie.

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a lot.

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_04]: And I have to imagine Jackie's going to come into play with his relationship

[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_04]: with Lisa.

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know in what capacity.

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_04]: who was that guy?

[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_04]: The,

[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_04]: the guy from school who was also like doing malicious stuff to get closer to

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Lisa in the last season.

[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it drew?

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It was drew.

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_02]: The bad guy from last season was drew and him and Carlton would be video and

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff.

[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Like the bowling alley.

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Drew's not going to mess with Carlton no more.

[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think,

[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we're done with drew.

[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll might get him when the school year starts back up,

[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_02]: but,

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he might've learned his lesson.

[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good question.

[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you think that we're going to get back to school this season?

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Or do you think they're saving that for season four?

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause that'll be the senior year.

[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's senior year for sure.

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_02]: they got,

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_02]: they got a lot to accomplish this summer.

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_02]: they got the business side of this thing going on.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_02]: We got obviously a love triangle with a will.

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We got Carlton's addiction.

[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_02]: We got it.

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Viv and uncle Phil and somewhat of a love square triangle.

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Pentagon.

[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Love song.

[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so there's a lot.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And then,

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh,

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and then the love triangle with jazz and Hillary and LaMarcus.

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know,

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_02]: where does that leave Ivy?

[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_02]: she's Hillary's friend of me,

[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_02]: but she's also had eyes for jazz in the part in,

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_02]: in,

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_02]: in the past.

[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Part of me thought that when she got back from Paris,

[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_04]: that was going to be the reveal of like,

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_04]: well,

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been seeing somebody and it's jazz.

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That didn't happen.

[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That didn't happen yet.

[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It didn't happen.

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_02]: the Ivy and jazz thing didn't work out the first time,

[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but again,

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_02]: what else is he doing?

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_02]: it seems like he's doing Hillary.

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause he never got a name for the date he brought to the Juneteenth party.

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That never came up.

[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that was on purpose.

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got a different one on his arm every week.

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and Hillary is judging him because of it,

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_02]: because he's still looking for that Hillary replacement.

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just hard to find.

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Again,

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: it's Coco Jones.

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So,

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't blame,

[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't blame my boyfriend out here struggling and floundering,

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to find a Coco replacement.

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Anything else in the episode that we didn't talk about?

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_02]: what is your familiarity with Juneteenth?

[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_04]: honestly,

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I've,

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot of it has been just learning in the last couple of years.

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I quite frankly,

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_04]: didn't know about Juneteenth until when I moved to the U S I would even say,

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_04]: go as far as saying,

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_04]: it's kind of something that's been off my radar.

[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I would hear it,

[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_04]: but I didn't know what it meant.

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's been a lot of getting educated recently.

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Well,

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I do want to give a personal shout out to you,

[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Pooja,

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_02]: because you are,

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_02]: you're new here.

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You are a recent citizen here of the United States.

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Since between last time we recorded in today.

[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So congratulations to you.

[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah,

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_02]: this is a holiday that I know really,

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_02]: really well being from the South and being from Texas,

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_02]: specifically Juneteenth is not a optional holiday for me.

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It was something that I've always known and always celebrated.

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually very surprised to see that the banks is,

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_02]: we were celebrating it so much being that they're in California.

[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So,

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_02]: cause it's,

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_02]: it's more like a,

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_02]: it started off like more as a regional holiday.

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The,

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_02]: the quick version of Juneteenth is that slavery was emancipated.

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And because of the time that it was where,

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_02]: phones and,

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and,

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_02]: modern technology weren't really just going strong like that.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you couldn't really get the information across the,

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_02]: across the country that,

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey,

[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_02]: this slavery thing wasn't happening anymore.

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you wanted to keep that away from your slave,

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_02]: you could,

[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_02]: you could definitely be like,

[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah,

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that's crazy.

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Nobody said that nobody,

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_02]: who's,

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_02]: who's going to go and tell everybody that they're free.

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So eventually on Juneteenth,

[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: they pull up in Texas.

[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe they landed in Galveston and said,

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey,

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_02]: just FYI,

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: these slaves supposed to be free.

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Let them go.

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And that was the day that,

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_02]: although the slaves were emancipated,

[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_02]: this was the time where the rest of the country found out.

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Or that,

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: these slaves were free.

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Juneteenth,

[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Will Smith will call it the black 4th of July,

[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_02]: but Juneteenth is definitely a independence day of sorts for African Americans,

[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_02]: for sure.

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: and so recent years it's become a federal holiday.

[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So where I've been seeing,

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_02]: it go from something that I always celebrated to now finding out that a lot of

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_02]: people in the country didn't know about it.

[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Will talks about how he didn't really,

[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: celebrate it him being from the Philly,

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_02]: which is in the North.

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously that wouldn't be something that he would have hit close to home to

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: him,

[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_02]: but I love that they dedicated this episode to talking about it because I feel

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_02]: like now that it is a federal holiday,

[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_02]: people need to start normalizing it a little bit more and,

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: try to avoid commercializing Juneteenth so much.

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: it's been a federal holiday for what,

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: two,

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: three years at this point.

[01:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean,

[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Juneteenth sales and,

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Juneteenth decorations going on,

[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: up in all kinds of stuff and businesses that don't give a damn about

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Juneteenth.

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of,

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: it's kind of icky,

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: just let people go out and enjoy themselves and celebrate,

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: the freedom that they were denied from jump as they were brought here as

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_02]: descendants of slavery or as slaves even.

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and so,

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: seeing this episode kind of on the backdrop of Juneteenth episode one,

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: it was very cool.

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I,

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I really enjoyed this.

[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah,

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_04]: no,

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_04]: it was very fun.

[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I,

[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I really liked the,

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: the entire way they set the party up.

[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it looked very like,

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: it looked like a good time,

[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_04]: which obviously as it should be,

[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_04]: it's a party,

[01:02:34] [SPEAKER_04]: but to your point also the commercialization of like culture and identity

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_04]: is very much a real thing in our day to day.

[01:02:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Now we're like anything that they can grab to,

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: to squeeze out for some money they do.

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Um,

[01:02:47] [SPEAKER_04]: so keeping it authentic and not really getting that as,

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: the hope,

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_04]: but is sadly,

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_04]: uh,

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the consumerism,

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_04]: consumerism life we live in is a little bit.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So between June 19th,

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: 1866,

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_02]: the first ever Juneteenth,

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: to like the,

[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_02]: when it became a federal holiday,

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_02]: it's because it's gone through a lot of changes and it's spread across the United States

[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: as being something that is very popular.

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But also you got to remember why it's popular,

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: right?

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Why we're actually doing it.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_02]: People see the cookouts and the fire,

[01:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: the fireworks and all that kind of stuff.

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And like,

[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_02]: oh yeah,

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: it's just a celebration,

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_02]: but what are we celebrating exactly?

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And so,

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: exactly.

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And I love that the Banks family is celebrating it because,

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: the first Banks family from the first Prince of Bel-Air,

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: they probably wouldn't have been down with the Juneteenth celebration.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil was,

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: on the other side of the aisle.

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_02]: he was,

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think that was a,

[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that was a rich black family for a number of reasons.

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so,

[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: seeing that this family is a little bit more liberal,

[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate that so much more.

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh,

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_02]: anything else we missed?

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_04]: No,

[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I will say one last thing.

[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like we're,

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley's going to get lost in the shuffle.

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Again,

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: this season,

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_04]: it feels like,

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: we had two episodes of,

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_04]: okay,

[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm the truth bomb person now,

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_04]: but all the truth bombs are out there now.

[01:03:59] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you going to do?

[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_04]: What's your story?

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Remember when she had like a love interest and that was a thing that happened for a little bit?

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what happened to that?

[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Where are you now?

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_04]: What are you doing?

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_02]: She,

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_02]: she's a woke one in the family,

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: as,

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: as,

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: as,

[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: as weird as that sounds,

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: she's the one is like,

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley got into the streets.

[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: She's making sure that everybody is staying true to themselves,

[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_02]: making sure that Carlton doesn't backslide,

[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: but people are holding Carlton accountable.

[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_02]: So I could see her popping in more as like a moral compass.

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I did enjoy seeing her and Hillary actually have an episode where they did stuff together.

[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw that a little bit last season too,

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: where,

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they did that,

[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that,

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_02]: was it a flag football game or something like that?

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_02]: They played together where,

[01:04:37] [SPEAKER_02]: like they need to actually to step in at the last minute because one of the influences couldn't make it.

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And that was a normal thing to do,

[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess.

[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Like bringing the 13 year old.

[01:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So,

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_02]: um,

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah.

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I wonder what this will look like,

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: for Ashley moving forward.

[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I think because the actress is a lot older now too.

[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It's been,

[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_02]: it's been a few years since she was playing a 13 year old.

[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Can we,

[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: here's,

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like we've talked about this before,

[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_04]: but one more time,

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[01:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: the,

[01:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: the kids are still kids,

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Because they're going to,

[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: they're in the summer in between school before university.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're out here locking up the liquor cabinet because he shouldn't be drinking in the first place.

[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Why is Carlton acting like,

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man,

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I shouldn't be not a liquor cabinet.

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You shouldn't have no business in there in the first place.

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It should have been a lock on the liquor cabinet.

[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_02]: To be honest,

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: you've got three kids.

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So why would you lock this thing?

[01:05:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause like,

[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_04]: if he's in,

[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_04]: if he's about to have senior years,

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: what 17 or 18,

[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_04]: he's already had a three year Coke problem.

[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And he went to rehab for this years.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: The man had been on Coke since he was 14 years old.

[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_02]: They had to lock it all down.

[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I said,

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton,

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_02]: we can't trust you at all.

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And,

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and Hillary,

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: dear God,

[01:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: the conversation with Hillary and Carlton,

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: she says,

[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey,

[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought it was like something you do at parties every now and then.

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know you had a problem.

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like,

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary,

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: you don't know about that.

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Like,

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: what's happening?

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like,

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I just thought of something you try once or twice.

[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't really tripping on it,

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah,

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: they're kids.

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Also,

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_02]: how old is Jackie?

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_02]: we keep talking about this,

[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: but she grown,

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: right?

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Why Jackie all up in,

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_02]: all up in the business,

[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to be in will.

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's the same thing with jazz,

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: right?

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Jazz is playing way older than will is as well.

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh,

[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_02]: look at Jack.

[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Look,

[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: if jazz is old,

[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: that's fine because jazz is after Hillary.

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Jackie,

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it's after a junior in high school.

[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: he's about to be a senior,

[01:06:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but they was messing around last season.

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I definitely don't think she was in school.

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: We never was.

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: She's trying to go to Juilliard.

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like she's also supposed to be around.

[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The same age range as will.

[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Why she ain't in school?

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we don't never hear about Jackie being in school.

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: her,

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: we don't care about her school story.

[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We care about the Bel Air Academy.

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: That's all we,

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the only school that matters.

[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.

[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a grown ass woman.

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You remember that?

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: She took him to that college party that time.

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying,

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah,

[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: exactly.

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That's just,

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying,

[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe we need to lock these kids down a little bit more.

[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody's too nice to these children.

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_04]: The key to watching this show is kind of removing that bit of logistics

[01:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: and just seeing everyone as young adults because like early twenties,

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: you know,

[01:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: because otherwise the logistics of,

[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_04]: but you're in high school,

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: but they're locking the wine cabinet.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you should legally be allowed to,

[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_04]: but they're preventing you from doing it.

[01:07:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's only because of your,

[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_04]: your addiction.

[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's stuff that doesn't add up here at all for sure.

[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause if anything,

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: you got to think of the idea that,

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: okay,

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley's around the same time,

[01:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: same age that Carlton started doing cocaine.

[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So if Ashley's are doing cocaine this season,

[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: we should not be shocked.

[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: We should be shocked because Ashley,

[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: we should not be shocked because she's 13,

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: because they already had a 13 year old.

[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's funny because I feel like Carlton will like their story is giving 23,

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: 24.

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Ashley story is still giving eight years old.

[01:07:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she's on the other end of it.

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_04]: She's way too young by the looks of things.

[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: For anything.

[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like,

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_04]: y'all pick a lane.

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But again,

[01:07:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I think you remove that part of the logic out and just ride the wave.

[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially once you think about how old these kids are in comparison to how

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: rich they are.

[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think rich kids get a lot more leeway in these situations.

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They get a lot more room to mess up a lot,

[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_02]: much a lot more like a access to maybe hard drugs and,

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: adult situations.

[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe that's a lot of it too.

[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But from what I can tell,

[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_02]: this is going to be a fun season.

[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the summertime and we're going to have,

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot to talk about throughout in regard to all of the things that we

[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: talked about in this episode and more.

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So Pouya,

[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_02]: are you ready to talk about the entire season of Bel Air?

[01:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh,

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_02]: hell yeah.

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so pumped.

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_04]: We're back.

[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be a good time.

[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Literally within 15 minutes of watching the first episode,

[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like,

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh,

[01:08:37] [SPEAKER_04]: this feels great.

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so happy.

[01:08:39] [SPEAKER_04]: We're back into it.

[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to have a fun time.

[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know exactly how many episodes the season is,

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: but I'm just here.

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm excited for the ride.

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to know.

[01:08:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to know.

[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm.

[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And one last thing.

[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't really speculated about this too much,

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but.

[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: As of today,

[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Bel Air season four has been renewed.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: So,

[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_02]: uh,

[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_02]: is there any word where this is the final season of Bel Air?

[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Nah,

[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_04]: if,

[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_04]: if this was,

[01:09:05] [SPEAKER_04]: if they knew it was going to be the final season,

[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I think they'd advertise it as such.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think this is.

[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean,

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the show has been made and this is me pure speculating at this point.

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's been made with a hope of renewal and a season four.

[01:09:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe season four is our last season because it's senior year.

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And we don't get the college years era if they choose to not go there.

[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think they're fighting for renewal.

[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And honestly,

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: with the way things are going over at Peacock,

[01:09:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel optimistic.

[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Dare I say it?

[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel good about the prospects here.

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I could see this show ending at senior year graduation,

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: but I can also see it maybe following Will into college for a year.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I want the pool house years,

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_04]: put the pool house years in there too.

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But I,

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: realistically,

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: you have to start wondering,

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: okay,

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_02]: how long are we going to do this?

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know,

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_02]: cause these kids are only going to look like children for so long too,

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_02]: you know?

[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And so,

[01:09:55] [SPEAKER_02]: you know,

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: this is,

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: again,

[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_02]: this is senior year coming up.

[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually,

[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the actress probably is about 16 at this point.

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The next season,

[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: she will be pretty much pretty close to grown probably at that point.

[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we're looking at somebody who is going to be outgrowing their character

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: very quickly.

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I wonder if they have enough time.

[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah,

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_04]: exactly.

[01:10:17] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's one of the biggest differences with shows now and shows back in the day where

[01:10:21] [SPEAKER_04]: they're recording almost year round and they're coming out every year.

[01:10:24] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're going to give a year and a half gap for eight episodes and we're still continuing,

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_04]: oh,

[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_04]: it's two months since the last episode or last season.

[01:10:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to look like 25 by the time she's graduating,

[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_04]: which I feel like you don't want to get there.

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No,

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: no,

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: no.

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to time this stuff right or you'll end up with the Stranger Things cast.

[01:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: She's 17 right now.

[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya playing of a 13 year old.

[01:10:49] [SPEAKER_04]: She's the age Carlton supposed to be on the show.

[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah,

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: exactly.

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know how much longer we get with the Bel Air cast,

[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_02]: but I think we will be here on recap,

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: kickback talking about it as long as we can.

[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya,

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_02]: this has been so much fun.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Can't wait to see what's coming up next.

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Big same,

[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: man.

[01:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be a good time writing it out here on the recap,

[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: kickback.

[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to have a fun,

[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_04]: fun way to close our summer here.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I think with Bel Air.

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes,

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think so too.

[01:11:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Pouya,

[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: tell everybody where they can find you in the meantime,

[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: until we come back next week.

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Well,

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: y'all can find me of course,

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: on Twitter at Pouyaism,

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_04]: as you can see on the screen,

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_04]: you can find me on Twitch,

[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_04]: twitch.tv slash Pouya.

[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I do stream there when I'm not podcasting and we have a good time doing.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So great community.

[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Come check us out.

[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And as far as podcasting goes,

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm talking 90 day fiance right now.

[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm very close to putting a bow on this season and just have to go through the five episodes worth of tell-alls for it.

[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm going to have Scali on with me this week to talk about episodes two and three of the tell-all.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: You can find that over there.

[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I have been making cameos on the big brother podcasting circuit.

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course,

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: every Friday live feed updates with Taryn talking about what happened the day before,

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_04]: who's the new HOH,

[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: what's going on.

[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So you can find that there.

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was graciously invited to be a guest on the slop this week with Chappelle and Rob,

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_04]: which is of course behind the pay,

[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the paywall,

[01:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: but I will tell you it is worth it for the filth that we go through in that podcast.

[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_04]: So much,

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_04]: so much mess happens there.

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You can check that out as well.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And also another thank you to my,

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: the Carlton of my life Chappelle,

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: who is opened his,

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: his doors to me on nothing but Netflix this week.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_02]: From drawers to doors.

[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm inviting you into my world.

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah,

[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_02]: you get to come on nothing but Netflix.

[01:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about the Mark Wahlberg and is it Halle Berry?

[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's all of it?

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe it's Halle Berry.

[01:12:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry movie that is going to be on Netflix,

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: new on Netflix on the nothing but nothing,

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: but nothing but Netflix podcast.

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We are going to be discussing that.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And Puyo will be my special guest in Rob's absence.

[01:12:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Also,

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I will be talking about below deck without Sasha.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Sasha's gone for the month.

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I brought on Jason O to cover this week's below deck on the below deck

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_02]: wrap ups feed on RHAP.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And then also on RHAP,

[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: She's one for the month.

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Kirsten brought me in,

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but first time in a long time to talk about all the mess on that pop

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And to ask the question,

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_02]: is clickbait?

[01:13:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Is Tyler Perry for real?
