[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_02]: That means if you're listening, you know to no longer be subscribed to that and to
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: come subscribe to this because here on Recap Kickback we're talking about all the cool
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_02]: stuff that we used to talk about on Bel-Air and Post Show Recap that we used to talk
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: about on the Kinect and we're bringing new stuff too.
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But you're going to miss out if you do not subscribe here at recapkickback.com slash
[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_02]: subscribe.
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_02]: That said, I'm Chappelle and I'm going to take you through Bel-Air Season 3 Episode
[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_02]: 9 and 10, the finale of Season 3 with none other than my co-host who you all
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_02]: come to grow and know and love here on the Recap Kickback.
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It's Pooja.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Pooja what's good?
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Everything man.
[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Dude, read like if you're watching the video, you see what I've said under my name.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: What just happened?
[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_00]: What a finale.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: More importantly, what a final five minutes of the finale.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So much happened.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: That finale was nuts and I cannot wait to talk about it with you.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We had some big surprises in these two episodes I think.
[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Episode 9 and episode 10 almost don't even feel like they're connected because there
[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_02]: was so much going on in episode 9 and then episode 10 just focuses on Hillary,
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: her wedding to Lamarcus.
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like you said, that last five minutes of content just kind of takes you and says,
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_02]: hey, if you thought about tapping out, Season 4 is going to come one day and you
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_02]: want to be ready for all the drama that's coming then.
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So I agree there was so much but I'm so happy that I get to unpack all of this
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: with you.
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait man.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Fert, okay.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to bear.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: How do you want to go about this today?
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I feel like there's a lot.
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So do you want to just start from the top, go sequential from nine on or do you
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: want to hip hop around?
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we got to hop around.
[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we got to hop around because there are some big headlines that we got to talk
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: about and about these last two episodes.
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So first things first, your boy Drew is back.
[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_02]: My boy Drew is back.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, I can go lie to you for a split second.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh man, not true.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I thought, no, I like this.
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I like, I like any time Will and Carlton have an external enemy, you know, when they're
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_02]: fighting each other, I don't like it.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_02]: But when they have somebody they can team up against, somebody who like they can rally
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_02]: against, that is kind of my bag.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And so when Drew came back, I got very excited because I love a good villain and
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Drew's the worst kind of villain.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's a villain that really don't have a lot of power.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_02]: He just wielding the little bit that he has over Will and Carlton.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And so seeing him back in this finale episode as the investor, the person who
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_02]: is now going to take Blacksess to the next level and, you know, maybe push his
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: influence on the brand.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I was very excited to see that and I'm hoping that it seeps over into season four.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Same.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I really think that they kind of gave us a broader picture of things to come because
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_00]: ultimately it just looked like, okay, Blacksess was a successful thing, but then
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_00]: they're going back to school.
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think adding in Drew into this really adds another layer of complexity.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: As of right now, it looks like they're all going to find common ground to work
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: together, but also like Carlton said, beating him up was one of the highlights of the
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: year.
[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So that's always in the background.
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: One of my favorite moments of this entire series was Carlton beating up Drew.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, again, we talked about this.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton is not one to be F with him and Jeffrey.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, maybe at first glance they don't seem like they're that threatening,
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_02]: but they got them hands and feet for you every time.
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I'm very excited to see what's going to happen here because Will had to
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_02]: make some moves this episode with the Blacksess.
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: They had a lot of investors interested in the brand.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Carlton was tied up with all the mirror drama that I'm sure we're going to
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: talk about.
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Will had to take, you know, the matters into his own hands.
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He was saying he could have sold to the highest bidder, but instead he wanted to
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: work with somebody who had similar interests as him and Carlton in helping black and
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_02]: brown people.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, and so while at first glance, that sounds amazing.
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It turns out that it's true.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And so now you have two people that really don't get along or three people that
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: really don't get along, two different sides that are combating, but they both
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_02]: have the same goals.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And if they're on the same team, they should be working together, right?
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that should be the logical outcome.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But who knows?
[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, who knows?
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think this is kind of common.
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you see a lot of organizations that do the same exact work, but
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: necessarily move in the exact same way, have the same exact like motivations.
[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But the outcomes look different.
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't think it's out of the ordinary for competing sides to, you know,
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe go their own routes and try to tackle the problem.
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But in theory, it should be better if they're all putting their heads
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_02]: together.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they typically say three is company.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So not a crowd.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And we see a little bit of that with Uncle Phil as well.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He will be reaching out to Omar Campbell, and now they're even going to
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: be partnering and helping with this whole gentrification issue.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: So the backstory on that is that we know that Omar was not having it
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_02]: with Uncle Phil.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil wasn't having it with Omar.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Uncle Phil wanted to make sure there were a lot more protections in the
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_02]: contracts for this like development, right?
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They want to make sure they use black contractors and local businesses
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_02]: were protected and got tax breaks and all this other stuff.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Omar wasn't having it.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But by the end, they were able to put their heads together and really
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: come to an agreement.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And now they've established a new coalition that will be the main
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: investors for this project.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're going to take all of those things in consideration.
[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And so really, it feels like the community is all on one page.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And now, again, we see those two sides that might have different views,
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but they have the same goals, able to come together and work together
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: and collaborate in a way that is successful and benefits everybody
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_02]: despite some of the drama we saw unfold over these last three
[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_02]: episodes.
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this was probably the quickest tidy up of a plot line you'll
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: ever see.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, oh, my God, Jas went to jail.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: What's going to happen?
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_00]: He has a record.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God, Will's confessing to the crime.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to go to jail only for episode 10 to be like,
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: no, everything's dropped.
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_00]: We've forgotten about the arson.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't exist anymore.
[00:07:22] Cool.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think a friend of the podcast, J West tweeted out that
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: the last two episodes should have been called Everybody Hates Will.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And for a second, it really did feel like that because this
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_02]: whole Jas situation, Carlton immediately throws Will under the
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: bus and says, like, why are you all in my business when y'all
[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_02]: should be looking at your nephew?
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_02]: What a little snitch, man.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton has been, you know, we've been gaining so much
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: traction.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_02]: We stopped bashing Carlton.
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_02]: We spent the first two seasons spending every episode bashing
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton to some extent.
[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think we didn't want to be called Carlton.
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: We'd fight each other to not be called the Carlton.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You were sending me Carlton memes.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a whole thing.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It was the best of times, the worst of times, but he's
[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_02]: back.
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton is being a brat again and he's hurt.
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's hurt by the whole Amir situation.
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He blames Will, but he immediately throws Will under the
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_02]: bus to Uncle Phil and at Viv and then throws him under
[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_02]: the bus to Lisa as well.
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But if it's not the Carlton, everybody will know that
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Will was involved in this fire.
[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And like you said, they tidy it up very quickly before
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: a second.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think it was going to go away so fast.
[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I for sure thought that is this like Will's going to
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of be in the similar boat to Carlton where now he
[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_00]: has this reputation and he has to build from the
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: beginning.
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was on that trajectory, but Carlton did
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_00]: shade him at one point and was like, yeah, well,
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you're going to get bailed out just like you did
[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_00]: last time.
[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And sure enough, Will record polish.
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: No one thinks anything differently of him.
[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But Carlton is kind of insinuating that Will's a
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_02]: nepo baby who doesn't have to face consequences.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton, here's a mirror.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not the mirror that you looked in and the
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_02]: rearview mirror that you saw yourself in right
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: before you did that coke.
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You should look at that and just kind of sit with the
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: idea that you two have not really faced a lot of
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: consequences for what you have done.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: You were able to go to rehab and that's something
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not afforded to everyone.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You're able to get a job that oftentimes people
[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_02]: who use drugs are not able to do because of
[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_02]: their reputation.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You're even in this program with Will, you know,
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: creating BlackSays.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: All these things that you have access to due to
[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_02]: your rich and affluent dad.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So for you to throw that at Will like, oh yeah, you
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: just a street thug and my dad's gonna clean up your
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: messes.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm thinking, aren't they cleaning up yours too?
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And he talked shit on Will's dad and yeah,
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah, it's like, sir, you're getting to go to
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Princeton.
[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to hear this from you.
[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Like your dream school is back on now.
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: OK.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And thankfully, Amira is still here.
[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing has happened.
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: But he put on he kept all that energy for him.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: What was interesting, though, and I think this kind
[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: of helped patch them up is that we did see the
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: moment where because he was trying to contact Amira
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_00]: a bunch and Amira was the parents were like, she
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: good.
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't need you right now.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And then he went to leave flowers at their
[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_00]: house and he mentions, you know, I know this
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: is a tough time of year for her.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And mom's like, why?
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Because her sister died.
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: This anniversary of the sister death.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And mom's like, yeah, she don't got siblings.
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I was at home fist pumping.
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I knew it.
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I knew it.
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You called it.
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You trusted there is no sister.
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Good.
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: He needed to find out.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He needed to find out just like this because
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: he was so far up Amira's ass in this
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_02]: episode or even this season that nobody else
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_02]: could have told him this and he would have
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: believed it.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It had to hit just like this right where he
[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_02]: has to sit with Amira as an addict.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: She has been an addict for a long time and
[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: she's been lying to you.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody else is not out to get you.
[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: This is not necessarily Will's fault, even
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_02]: though you're trying to make it Will's fault.
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_02]: This is your fault.
[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It's you and Amira's fault.
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Amira is grown.
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: She made choices or she's not grown, but
[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_02]: she's made grown up choices and she's ended
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: up in a situation that she's addicted to
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: painkillers.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_02]: She got in a car accident and then she
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: managed.
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: She got addicted.
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And then from there, she's been abusing
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_02]: drugs.
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, she's gone to rehab, but she's
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: not taking it seriously.
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: When you go to rehab and they tell you do
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_02]: not get in a relationship immediately
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: after leaving rehab, she was in a
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_02]: relationship before leaving rehab.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: So she's definitely made choices that
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: led to this position.
[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But Carlton has to before him and Amira
[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: even got good together.
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone comes in, you know, this
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: is not a good look.
[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_02]: This is not a good idea.
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And yet here we are.
[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You trying to blame everybody else from
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_02]: your problems?
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the red flags were not present
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to him because of the impression that
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_00]: everyone else had given him about her
[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_00]: in that because he thinks that none
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_00]: of them like her, he's not taking any
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: of their criticism because you don't
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_00]: know her like I know her.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So it took her mom to be like.
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: She lied about this is a pretty big
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00]: lie.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00]: She liked to cover something.
[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I think it hits
[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_00]: him.
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I didn't see the signs.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It almost seems like Carlton is
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_02]: about to fall off the wagon again.
[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: We see Connor is here and Carlton
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_02]: has turned to his old faithful drug
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: dealer.
[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And Connor, a legend?
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: A legend.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. An icon.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Connor said, hey, drugs are bad.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Crack is whack.
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't do that.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Kudos.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I got the plug, but I'm not your
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: connect.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Get out of here.
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Not for you.
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's bad when your drug
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: dealer got to tell you like, hey,
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_02]: you're cut off.
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm cutting you off, man.
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't want to be the reason
[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton fell off the wagon again.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Which I respect.
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like that is not an easy
[00:13:01] [SPEAKER_00]: thing to do, especially like I
[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: think the moment that really made
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_00]: it clear was when he asked Carlton,
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: how long has it been?
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_00]: 72 days.
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, you're not breaking
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: it here today.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to be an accomplice
[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_00]: to this habit.
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton, the king of taking
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_02]: accountability, is definitely going to blame
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_02]: this on Connor if it happens, right?
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, well, Connor gave me the
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: drugs.
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, all right, Carlton.
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be like, oh, I'm
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_00]: getting shade for for using
[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_00]: cocaine after my girlfriend nearly died.
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to talk about Connor,
[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: who sold me the drugs?
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm the victim.
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm the enemy.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:13:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton knew what he was about to do.
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And Connor saw straight through it.
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like, no, you got it.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Figure out your own drugs.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Carlton did.
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: He had a nice little paper bag.
[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: There was a moment where...
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like a food bag, right?
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It was like a burger bag, I felt like.
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like he kind of got the
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_02]: coke through the drive-through window.
[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of how I feel.
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And so, yeah, he's about to do a
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: little bit.
[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He looked in the mirror, had a
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_02]: couple moments where he saw Will.
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He thought he saw Aunt Viv a couple of times.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like his conscience started to
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: really speak up.
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And eventually he does get rid
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_02]: of the drugs and kind of has to just
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_02]: fight that battle on his own.
[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: He's very proud of himself.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He tells his family about it later on.
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I was happy for Carlton,
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: but I was even happier that Amira is
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: going to be far, far, far
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: away from this family because I just
[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_02]: don't like her.
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care about the addiction.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Just all things aside, I just thought
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: she was too comfortable, way too comfortable.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. She's being shipped off to
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Boston, right?
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: By the sounds of it.
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So she's going to be going into a program
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_00]: there.
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And it seemed like when they were
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_00]: doing their final goodbyes with her,
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that she fully patched things up with Will.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_00]: She's fully patched things up with Lisa.
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think she is very much
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_00]: a part of their inner circle in
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_00]: a way when she comes back.
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the show has an opportunity
[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_00]: to just keep her written off.
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like she's in Boston for all of next
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_00]: season. And I think I'd be fine with it
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: too.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_02]: That's OK. She can go.
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine. We've done enough.
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of feel like I want a
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_00]: single Carlton who's trying
[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: to slide in the DMs again, because that
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_00]: was fun.
[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Whereas all loved up Carlton
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_00]: is not doing as much excitement
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: for me.
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And so I want to
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: see what this snitch has
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: in his arsenal a little bit.
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's get back to grimy Carlton
[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_02]: days. You know, not the like we want
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_02]: to punch him grimy days, but
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_02]: definitely the days where Carlton is
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_02]: moving on his own and he's not
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_02]: necessarily tied to, you know, this
[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: love story that is also
[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_02]: tied to his addiction.
[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like everyone can't have like
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_00]: everyone by the end of the season,
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_00]: everyone has a relationship.
[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_00]: We need somebody to not have one.
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that person should be
[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Carlton.
[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, it might end up being
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley because we see that Ashley
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and Eli, they both like each
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_02]: other. They've admitted to liking
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: each other and they're she doesn't
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: want to hide it anymore.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: As it says, I can like who
[00:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to like and I'm tired of
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: keeping a secret. Hillary's not
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_02]: keeping secrets anymore.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So they might be the ones
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: to try to make their relationship
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_02]: official. We see them holding hands.
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But honestly, the family
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_02]: shutting is down the first chance
[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: they get. You know, Ashley, you
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: are too young in this household,
[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: at least to be having full on
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: relationships. She's not that far
[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_02]: off from whenever Carlton and
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Lisa probably started dating
[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_02]: those. So I don't know.
[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe she's not.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they I feel like
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: they seem they'll probably be OK
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_00]: with it, but they'll say,
[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, but Eli can just come hang
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_00]: out in your room and on your
[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_00]: bed anymore, which makes a lot
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: of sense, given that they they
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_00]: were setting that up for no dating
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_00]: and no dating in the house.
[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And she's like, but but
[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_00]: we're not dating like OK, cool.
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So now they're going to be like
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: no more.
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they do make a really
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_02]: good point of just taking their
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_02]: eye off of Ashley a little too
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_02]: much. You know, with Carlton,
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_02]: he gave them the same speech.
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlton, you shouldn't be dating.
[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: No, we're just friends.
[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I said, OK, like no, no,
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not how this works.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Your kids are lying to you.
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_02]: They're constantly lying to you
[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: because that's what kids do.
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Not all kids are going to lie
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: all the time, but you got to watch
[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_02]: them. And so Ashley's going to say
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_02]: whatever it takes to get the smoke
[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_02]: off of her. But back behind
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_02]: the scenes when no one's watching,
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Ashley has a them
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_02]: friend in Eli.
[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, I think I could see
[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_00]: this relationship being a bigger
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_00]: part of Ashley's story.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't even say a bigger part
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: of the story because
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_00]: this is the third season and
[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_00]: this is the most Ashley has
[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_00]: gotten throughout three seasons.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Right, because this would be
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley's freshman year in high
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: school. That's what they said.
[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's about to start
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_00]: freshman year.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, they can get into
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot more drama for Ashley,
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's no way that
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley is going to be the
[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_02]: focal point of anything
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: that really matters,
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess, as a freshman
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_02]: in high school,
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: unless they really manufacture
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: some drama.
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. Do you remember
[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: in Fresh Prince when Ashley
[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_00]: started school at the Academy
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and everyone was like
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: hovered around her
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and they were all like
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_00]: fulmin at the mouth
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_00]: only to realize that it's
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_00]: his baby sister?
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, exactly.
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God, that that definitely
[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: can't happen.
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be fun.
[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that would be fun.
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like the direction
[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: they could get if they're
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: going to do a storyline
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: similar to that is that
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Ashley starts getting involved
[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_00]: in the music scene
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and has like a bit of a raunchy
[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_00]: style for her music.
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And that could lead
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to the similar storyline, maybe
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_02]: raunchy style.
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_02]: She'll be Ashley the stallion.
[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I hope not.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Then you do Ashley.
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: No, please, please.
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_02]: That would be hilarious.
[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_02]: If Ashley drops it,
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_02]: cool, actually music
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: already dark and broody.
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that if they can
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_02]: just she moves it to like
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_02]: a like stripper rap,
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that would be hilarious.
[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But also Uncle Phil
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: will blow up like he will legit
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_02]: like just fall apart
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and plode. Yeah.
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Or they'll just leave him there
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and then they'll come back
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and he'll be dead
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: like Lamarcus Lamarcus.
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Trevor outed his name is Trevor Puyo.
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_02]: How do we make it this far
[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: to the podcast when
[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I talk about it?
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: They really tried to sandwich it in there
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: because when they were doing the vows
[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and he's like, I, Lamarcus, Trevor's like,
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_00]: oh, no, he's Trevor.
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I say he's gone, man.
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He's cooked.
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And then I thought, is he about
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to have Artithek on at the altar?
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, no.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. They're married.
[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, they they married cool.
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And then at the honeymoon,
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Chappelle at the honeymoon,
[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_00]: one more mimosa did the trick.
[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm sorry.
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_02]: God, I love this.
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So much because when I saw
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: his name was Trevor, in my notes,
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I said, oh, he's doomed.
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He's done because we've been forecasting
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_02]: the Trevor S.
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: death of Lamarcus
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: since the moment we saw him.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We said, is this Trevor?
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And to just slip in
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: that his name is actually Trevor,
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, that's the like
[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that's the kiss of death.
[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, OK, boom, we found our Trevor.
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to die. But how?
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And I started thinking
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe next season he dies early on
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: and we deal with Hillary
[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_02]: kind of grieving that.
[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But killing him in this season
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I think was a perfect move
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: because now we can focus on Hillary and Jazz
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: throughout this episode.
[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We really saw that
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: there's a lot of chemistry,
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: a lot of love between the two of them.
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_02]: But unfortunately,
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary loves someone else.
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Now that person is gone.
[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think the doors are wide open
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: for jazz to just come on
[00:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and step through.
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And and jazz kind of handled it,
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_00]: quote unquote, in the classy way
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_00]: where he didn't
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_00]: because when they were like,
[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_00]: does anybody object?
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And everyone looked like,
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: oh my God, jazz about to roll up
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_00]: out in here and just start talking.
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Nope, he respected her wishes.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: He let go the person
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_00]: he loves for her happiness.
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And now her husband died.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So, wow.
[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't.
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: This is wild, dude,
[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_00]: because I feel like they
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you.
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: They made the right choice
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: just doing it now
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_00]: because this entire episode 10
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: was from the perspective
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_00]: of this wedding.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they immediately
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_00]: wrapped it up and we moved on
[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_00]: because the other side of the coin was,
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_00]: well, what happens with Hillary's story
[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: when she's married?
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, where does she go from there?
[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Because a lot of her story
[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_00]: this season was
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Lamarcus or jazz.
[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_00]: It was not her individual
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_00]: like storyline.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_00]: We lost all of that.
[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like Ivy's kind of the reminder
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_00]: of what used to be.
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And now I think we're going to move
[00:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: into her back into her career,
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_00]: because also a lot of her
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: like social media storyline was,
[00:21:11] [SPEAKER_00]: well, you're you're
[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Lamarcus's trophy wife.
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's focus on that.
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_00]: That's all gone now.
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So where do we go?
[00:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm very happy because listen,
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the appeals of Bel Air
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: was that they're clearly
[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_00]: taking some stuff
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_00]: from the source material.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_00]: But I could not have predicted this.
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I was gobsmacked when they
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: his middle name was revealed
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to be Trevor.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, oh, rest in peace.
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_00]: My new friend.
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was one of those
[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: if you know, you know moments.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like his name is Trevor.
[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And so everybody at home
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_02]: like that Leonardo DiCaprio GIF,
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_02]: like, look, look, that's what they say.
[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, oh my God.
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It was perfect.
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a perfect reveal.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I loved every second of it,
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: especially because I felt like
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: the beginning of the season
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_02]: really highlighted the idea
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: that Lamarcus could die
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: from playing football at any time.
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: We found out about this condition.
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_02]: He should not be playing football.
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And then after Hillary kisses jazz,
[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_02]: he goes to the hospital.
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_02]: We never talk about the idea
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: that Lamarcus is about
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: to marry Hillary and then go back
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_02]: to playing football again,
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_02]: which is so dangerous.
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_02]: This way, he doesn't even
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_02]: make it to the football field again,
[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_02]: because we're reminded that
[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_02]: that condition meant that he could die
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_02]: at any time if he didn't get the proper help.
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And so here he is.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It happened. He died.
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm happy that they kind of
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_02]: wrap that storyline up as opposed
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_02]: to just like bringing it up
[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and letting it go because they
[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_02]: hadn't talked about it for so long.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm also happy that you're right.
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Now Hillary's from under that storyline,
[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, and she can start to move on now.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't get me wrong.
[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to have to deal with a lot
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: of crying Hillary next season, you know.
[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_00]: At least the first three episodes.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's going to be bad,
[00:22:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but I do think she can come from this.
[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, what did you think about these two
[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_02]: episodes being focused on Hillary
[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and Jazz's journey as well?
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Because Hillary goes to get closure from Jazz.
[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_02]: They spend the day together.
[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't look like they did anything sexual,
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_00]: but I know he joked about it too.
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, are we doing this?
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, stop.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: That's not what we're doing.
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It was we're just on a date.
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Closure. It was kind of like
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: closure of like them having the chemistry.
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It felt like.
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think closure is important
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: for a relationship that's ended?
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it depends on the relationship.
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it depends on how close the two of you were.
[00:23:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it also depends on how much
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_00]: in your ecosystem they are.
[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Like Hillary's in his world no matter what,
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: especially because he's good friends with Will.
[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like from that regard, yes,
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: but if this is a relationship that went very sour
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and like they did things, you did things.
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think sometimes you don't need closure in that situation.
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But if one of you feels like, or both of you feels like
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_00]: there was some stuff left on the table, then yes.
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_02]: See, I'd like that they talked about the idea of closure,
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but I don't think that's what happened
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: between them anyway.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_02]: It felt like they went on a long date.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And then at the end of it,
[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: because I think Hillary said,
[00:23:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we just need to get each other
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: out of each other's systems.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And by the end of it,
[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that is what was accomplished.
[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Hillary now felt okay going to get married, it seems.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But she left her ring behind.
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So obviously her head wasn't in the game
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_02]: if her ring came off and ended up in Jazz's shoe.
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And then when Jazz is faced with the opportunity
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: to bring the ring, he even says,
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_02]: if I pawn this all my problems would go away.
[00:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's not wrong.
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Not only would he have $100,000
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: to do whatever he wants to do with his business,
[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_02]: but Hillary would have to own up to the idea
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_02]: that she was laid up over there with Jazz
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: instead of getting ready for her wedding.
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe, just maybe the two of them could be together.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I felt like they said closure,
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: but it wasn't really no closure.
[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like all that did,
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was closure for one of them, not both of them.
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I think for Hillary she was like,
[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_00]: all right, that was amazing.
[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But onto my new life.
[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_00]: And for Jazz it was, oh, I'm an idiot.
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm an idiot for letting this go.
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And now it's more proof that I was an idiot.
[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The minute episode 10 started
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and she couldn't find a ring,
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, it's in Jazz' house.
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where in that house,
[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's a Jazz' place for sure.
[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, it actually took a minute
[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_02]: for me to realize that that was coming.
[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I was like, oh, she lost her ring.
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I said, see, this is her,
[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: like finding reasons to sabotage this.
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But nope, she had already sabotaged it
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_02]: the episode before when she left the ring over there.
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, rest in peace Trevor, who you know,
[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_00]: gone very quickly.
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But Chappelle, sometimes when a Trevor leaves,
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_00]: a Nikki has to come in.
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Pooja, Aunt Viv is pregnant.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: When she said she was feeling a little sick,
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, here comes baby Nikki.
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_02]: What are we doing?
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_02]: What are we doing, Belair?
[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we really doing this?
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: What's happening?
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause Aunt Viv, we know her and Uncle Phil
[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: have been talking about how much,
[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_02]: oh, they're so happy to get the kids out of the house.
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_02]: They learn to have to empty nesting.
[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Empty nesting, not worried about Carlton as much,
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: not worried about Hillary as much.
[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Ashley is getting older.
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: They're preparing for the exit.
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But now that they have started doing the sex again,
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess they just, you know,
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: they just weren't as careful as they should have been.
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And here we are, Nicholas, Andrew, Michael Sean,
[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Nathan Wanyet Banks is on the way.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I forgot how long his name was.
[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So Nikki is named after all the members of Boys To Men.
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And so that's where you get Nicholas, Andrew,
[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Michael Sean, Nathan Wanyet.
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And so Nikki's coming.
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how I feel about this.
[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna have pregnant Aunt Viv.
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause you know we never really got baby Nikki
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_02]: on the Fresh Prince.
[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Somehow Nikki just aged up
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: into like a five-year-old all of a sudden.
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you know that?
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. Well, we're gonna have pregnant Aunt Viv
[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_00]: most likely for all of season four.
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And then if we get a season five, baby Nikki will be there.
[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_00]: But baby Nikki better like,
[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_00]: we'll probably just be a baby.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't think how far are we gonna accelerate?
[00:27:12] [SPEAKER_00]: But actually I take that back Chappelle
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_00]: because now I see the vision.
[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_00]: They could easily time jump after next year
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_00]: because next year is senior year.
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_00]: They should choose,
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_00]: they can time jump them through college
[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_00]: or time jump them through a couple of years of college
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_00]: to kind of get them where they need them to go.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Because with Carlton going to Princeton
[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and Will going to somewhere else,
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_00]: you're not gonna have the whole family together.
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe. I don't know.
[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I wonder if they could time jump
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_02]: just to like the end of senior year.
[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I'm not really interested in Will and Carlton
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: applying for colleges.
[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't wanna, I don't care.
[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you can get to the end of that.
[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you can get to the end,
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: like they're preparing for graduation maybe.
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they can't Chappelle
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_00]: because Will is abducted right now.
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: We have to see how that pays off.
[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think we're getting a time jump.
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think-
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I was saying for maybe the bridge between four
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and five, I could see the time jump is what I'm saying.
[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that'd be six years from now.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, but our own time jump here-
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna be time jumping.
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, before any talking about this.
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, you're right.
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't talked about this at all.
[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Will is abducted.
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey had been being followed throughout
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: and the same SUV that was following Jeffrey
[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: has now kidnapped Will.
[00:28:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And who knows where these evil Brits are gonna take him
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: because old school Jeffrey
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: is still lurking around somewhere.
[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: We didn't see him, but he's around.
[00:28:50] [SPEAKER_00]: He's for sure around.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Man, that was probably the saddest recognition
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I had this episode was when Jeffrey walked up
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_00]: and they started doing the family photos,
[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_00]: every time he ad-lib something about somebody
[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: it was like, don't leave.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I know what you're doing.
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You're about to dip out on everybody.
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause we saw in episode nine that Penelope,
[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_00]: shady Penelope nearly gave them up.
[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Chappelle nearly gave them up to these Brits
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_00]: because the deal didn't go through.
[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_00]: The deal fell through.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't like the deal.
[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_00]: They took the money and said, no.
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You called it.
[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_02]: You said it after we watched that episode.
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_02]: You said, are they even gonna go for this?
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was thinking, well, why not?
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he gave him stacks and stacks of money
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: but there's nothing like having Jeffrey working for you
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess, like you gotta get them back in the game.
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a bad man.
[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm telling you that that handshake
[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the double Jeffrey handshake really felt
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_00]: like it wasn't gonna go through.
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_00]: He is a bad man.
[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a bad man.
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm so sad dude, because he ends up,
[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_00]: first of all, Frederick's stupid.
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Frederick's out here getting his ass beat in
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_00]: on the streets because he has to roll dice
[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: and swindle people out of money.
[00:29:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he said, it's in the blood.
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_02]: What a problem child.
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's hear Frederick out.
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick has-
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh now you're on his side?
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no.
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He's evil and I need everybody to know about it.
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: My issue here is that Frederick
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: is not getting the smoke he deserves.
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But let's hear from his point of view.
[00:30:19] [SPEAKER_02]: He has found out that the dad that he thought
[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_02]: didn't care about him or whatever
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: is basically the baddest man who ever existed, right?
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He found out about this crime syndicate
[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that he's now been a part of and exited.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're watching Jeffrey at any point
[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_02]: then you know that he's just not one
[00:30:35] [SPEAKER_02]: to be trifled with.
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey, we're the biggest Jeffrey fans
[00:30:38] [SPEAKER_02]: on the internet, on any podcast ever.
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_02]: If you'll told me I could be more like my dad
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and my dad is Jeffrey,
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I could see myself doing a little gambling on the street,
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_02]: doing some street stuff every now and then,
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_02]: trying to ease into that lifestyle.
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But I guess, I don't think,
[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I would have over thought about it enough
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_00]: to realize, you know what?
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I could do the bad man stuff
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_00]: but I can look good in a suit.
[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I can walk around doing a security detail
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_00]: like that I can do.
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Get me behind a computer to watch the security footage.
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm there all day.
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey so bad that the Brits have come all the way
[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_02]: to the United States to get him, okay?
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, we need you at work.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a different level of bad.
[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's so bad.
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They're like, nah, you too good at your job
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_02]: to go on the straight and narrow.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You gotta be evil like the rest of us.
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if I'm prejudiced.
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, man, my dad kind of dope.
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I think also if Jeffrey checks him on it,
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that would embolden him even more
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and I think he's gonna be more like Jeffrey.
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause he's like, if I could stand up to my dad,
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: who is Jeffrey?
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, boy these people on the streets
[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_02]: ain't gonna be able to mess with me.
[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_02]: These Americans ain't ready for the Brit.
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't know.
[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of see where he's coming from
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but I also think this is his fault.
[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that whatever just happened to Will,
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick set it up.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think anybody can tell me different
[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: because ever since the Fresh Prince of Bel Air,
[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I knew not to trust this Frederick man.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And we just didn't have enough smoke for him
[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: this season for my liking.
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess the number one question for me then is,
[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_00]: do you think we see this British contingent back again?
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think we see-
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Easy.
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey, Penelope, Frederick, all three, one, two.
[00:32:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, gotta be.
[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Gotta be right.
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause we were talking about a time jump
[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but if Will gets kidnapped today,
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey's on the case tomorrow.
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like there's no way that Jeffrey,
[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_02]: he's got him tracked.
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like there's like a tracker in his ear.
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got a bugged.
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he says he's leaving Uncle Phil.
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, hey, I'm gonna let you and your family handle it.
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think y'all need me anymore.
[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I've done my part, blah, blah, blah.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But when it's time to break glass in case of emergency,
[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_02]: who you gonna call?
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey.
[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Every time, every time.
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're gonna lose any time with Jeffrey.
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Uncle Phil tries to do this
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_02]: without Jeffrey.
[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I love that these two episodes really did highlight
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_02]: the friendship that Uncle Phil and Jeffrey have
[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_02]: because these last two seasons
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_02]: have been a little tumultuous.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen Jeffrey really focusing on Frederick.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen Uncle Phil and Jeffrey pretty much at odds.
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey basically got fired in season three essentially.
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But here, several times over throughout the season
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: but definitely in these last two episodes,
[00:33:20] [SPEAKER_02]: we saw the two of them bonding
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and really talking about how like I got your back,
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: you got my back, look at the family.
[00:33:26] [SPEAKER_02]: They're looking over the family as a pair, as a duo.
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And so you gotta have more Jeffrey for season five.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the show, or season four,
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the show would just be the same without him.
[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_00]: No, we talked about the show wasn't the same
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_00]: when he was on cameo duty on season two.
[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_00]: No, do not do this.
[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Huge mistake if you do.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But also had they not had the abduction, okay?
[00:33:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Because that you just simply cannot open season four
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_00]: without that being a main storyline now.
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Had they not done that,
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I would have been on this podcast
[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_00]: convinced we're getting a Jeffrey spin-off.
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Convinced. Oh yeah.
[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I would have said we're getting the Jeffrey spin-off.
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be the bridge between the two seasons
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and that's gonna be following his saga
[00:34:08] [SPEAKER_00]: of like hiding away from all these bad people.
[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And then it's gonna end with him
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_00]: solving the problem and coming back to Bel Air.
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I would have been convinced that's what's gonna happen.
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_00]: But with the abduction, you can't do that
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_00]: because also what is that story gonna cover 48 hours?
[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Because he's not been gone that long.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah.
[00:34:28] [SPEAKER_02]: They gotta get right into it.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But Jimmy, the King Below tweeting out,
[00:34:34] [SPEAKER_02]: hey, a Jeffrey spin-off blah, blah, blah.
[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we see the tweets, Jimmy.
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We see them and we're here for him.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Let us know. Jimmy is slick.
[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_00]: He even- He knows what's up.
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Out of character he's slick too.
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_00]: He knows what he's doing.
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like fanning the flames a little bit.
[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He knows what's up. Yeah.
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_02]: A Jeffrey spin-off.
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we see Jeffrey on a side quest to go get Will
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_02]: or something like that would be so dope.
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But we can't take the time away.
[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_02]: If they don't already have it filmed,
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: well yeah, we can't do that.
[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_02]: We need to jump into season four,
[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_02]: really tackling the issue.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause Will being gone obviously is gonna put
[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_02]: all the rest of these storylines at a halt.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's also interesting to me because, you know,
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I still go back to that phone call that Will overheard.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, you're not gonna convince me
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: that was Penelope.
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That's gotta be someone in this organization of some sort.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: But also the same people that abducted Will
[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_00]: are the same people that beat up on Frederick.
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't even think that's the case necessarily.
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But you, the show has definitely robbed us
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: of Carlton pummeling Frederick a little bit.
[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Just a couple of punches.
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_00]: It's gotta hit him.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_00]: One, two.
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It's gotta happen.
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: If anything, if anything will turn you
[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: to a life of crime,
[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_02]: getting beat up by Carlton is one of those things.
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Like if I'm Jeffrey's son and I get beat up
[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_02]: by Carlton, I'm like, all right dad,
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_02]: teach me the game.
[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I got to figure out something.
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Whatever skills Jeffrey got, I need those skills now
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: because I can't just be getting bullied by people
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_02]: from Bel Air Preparatory Academy
[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_02]: or wherever their school they're at.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you got to, at that point really dive in.
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think whatever happened to Frederick
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_02]: with him getting beat up, I think at that point
[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_02]: he probably turns in Will as like the sacrifice, right?
[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm thinking that that's probably where
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_02]: that comes from because it's just a little too cute
[00:36:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that, you know, Frederick gets jumped
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: but Will is the one who gets kidnapped
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: when easily, I mean, they could just be looking
[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: for Frederick again.
[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, since when were we in a, all right,
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_00]: it's a one for one.
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to swap out this boy
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_00]: for this boy and it'll be okay.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Was it because he like clearly knew of Jeffrey
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_00]: cause he went to his apartment?
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that what it was?
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_00]: It had to have been, right?
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Got to be.
[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And I guess Frederick and Jeffrey were gone by now.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We had already seen Frederick's, I'm sorry,
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey's speech, his little letter
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_02]: that he wrote to Uncle Phil.
[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So the apartment was cleared out.
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So maybe they just can't get to Frederick.
[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So the next best option is one of the Banks kids or Will
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and Will, just like you said,
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02]: was leaving the apartment.
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He went there, Jeffrey's stuff was all gone.
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It was completely empty.
[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like it happened so quickly, right?
[00:37:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It happened enough time for him to get moved out.
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think they've probably just been waiting
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: on the perfect bait.
[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Somebody's going to come looking for Jeffrey.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think Jeffrey actually was able to get out
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_02]: and move away and he's just sitting like across the pond
[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_02]: or maybe they already have them.
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_00]: They don't have Jeffrey.
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So far, like literally Jeffrey is always one step ahead
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: so much so that when him and Penelope were walking,
[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_00]: he's like, all right, we have 10 seconds.
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You're going to let them take me
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: or you want to come with me?
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Like what are we doing?
[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_00]: He called his shot that they were about to abduct him
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_00]: because he clocked that that car was following them.
[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't get slip on past this man.
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And not only did he clock that the SUV was following him,
[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_02]: he knew that Penelope had something to do with it.
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't like, don't look,
[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: but we got somebody following us.
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, now what did you do?
[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, why is this happening?
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And she had to admit that the people want Jeffrey
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: so bad that they're willing to come and kidnap him
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_02]: if necessary.
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So I just feel like if Penelope was able
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: to sell Jeffrey out to save Frederick,
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Frederick would probably be able to sell Will out
[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_02]: to save him.
[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And so maybe that's why, but again,
[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm completely biased when it comes to Frederick.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I've hated him since the moment we saw him
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_02]: the first time in season three and nothing has changed.
[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing has changed at all.
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like there's a world where, yeah,
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Will is the bargaining chip
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_00]: to get Jeffrey back on side, right?
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, oh, Jeffrey ran away?
[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you got to come back for Will unless you don't care.
[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's how he comes back
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and somehow puts them to bed.
[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, give me my Jeffrey.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot just get rid of Jeffrey like this.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_00]: No way.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And Will has to come back too
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_02]: because he's the main character.
[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: So we know Will's coming back
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: and we're gonna need Jeffrey to go get him.
[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_02]: That makes total sense.
[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that opens the door for maybe later on,
[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Jeffrey spinoff.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll just have to see what happens with that.
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But also we got to see Vi, Will's mom
[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_02]: in these episodes as well.
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_02]: She comes to the wedding
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and she has a new boyfriend, Gerald.
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Or is it Jimmy?
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Or is it Jim?
[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It just depends on what Will feels like calling him.
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_02]: He seems very protective over his mom dating people.
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And apparently she's been dating.
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Gerald, wow for that.
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So Gerald and Will are talking
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and Will says, hey, you know,
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I just want to make sure you understand
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: that I love my mom
[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm never gonna let anybody hurt her
[00:39:36] [SPEAKER_02]: and you better take care of her
[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and I need to know your intentions.
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Giving him like the protective older brother
[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_02]: or whatever vibes that he's trying to, you know,
[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_02]: put between Gerald and his mom.
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And Gerald says something to the effect of,
[00:39:53] [SPEAKER_02]: oh yeah, well, you know,
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: your mom gets a lot of attention.
[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just happy I finally got a chance
[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_02]: to shoot my shot.
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And Will said, what?
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: What does that mean?
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And I said the same thing.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, wait, Gerald,
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: what did you just insinuate?
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: What is, what's going on?
[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause Gerald says, you need to talk to your mama.
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, well, like about what?
[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't need to bring all this up.
[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Just say, yes, I like her
[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and I intend on, you know, taking care of her.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't need to add like, yeah, you know,
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_00]: she held the bachelor Philly
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and I ended up being the winner.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Like that didn't need to be a part of this.
[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't need to say all that.
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He said the line was long as hell
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: but finally she got to me
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm just like, man,
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Will is not gonna go for that.
[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It didn't seem to amount to anything
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: we see Vi and Will dancing it out at the wedding.
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought this was a pretty cool moment
[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_02]: because, you know,
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: the show reminds us all the time
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_02]: that Will and Vi were extremely close
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_02]: but we don't see them talk as much as we used to.
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_02]: In season one, he's like always FaceTiming
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and texting and calling
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: but now he's starting to get his roots
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_02]: a little bit in Bel Air.
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm actually starting to question, you know,
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_02]: we talk about where Will could go to college
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_02]: or what happens after this
[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_02]: but is there any appeal to Will
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: potentially going back to Philly
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: once he's done here in Bel Air?
[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see it.
[00:41:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like at this point,
[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Bel Air has more and more become his home
[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_00]: in this short amount of time.
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Like not only initially it was like, okay,
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I have my family, I have Jazz.
[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That's about it.
[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And now, and then it became,
[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_00]: well, I have a family, I have Jazz,
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I have Lisa.
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I don't have Lisa but I have Jackie.
[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I've got basketball.
[00:41:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. And then this season,
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_00]: okay, I don't have basketball.
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Jackie's a friend.
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I have Lisa.
[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I have Jazz.
[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I have the family.
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I have Black Sass.
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm working on this community project
[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_00]: to prevent gentrification.
[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm now part of this community as well.
[00:41:40] [SPEAKER_00]: My mom's visiting me frequently.
[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's become more of a,
[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_00]: like he's built his ecosystem now.
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And now once he's putting roots down here
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_00]: as a soon to be young adult,
[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's gonna be a lot harder for him
[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_00]: to just switch up and leave everything here.
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Especially when he's establishing these relationships
[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_00]: as he's about to embark on the next chapter
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: with like college and stuff coming up.
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's living a lot of experiences
[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_02]: that he probably wouldn't have got to have
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_02]: if he was still in Philly, right?
[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Even him being in Hillary's wedding,
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_02]: he's one of the groomsmen
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and he's standing next to his favorite wide receiver
[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: from the NFL, DK Metcalf.
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, you know, I was like, wait,
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: what is that really him?
[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was, and so I was like, dang, you know,
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Will is getting to live out some of these experiences
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_02]: that, you know, prior to him moving to Bel Air
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: probably weren't that realistic.
[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, even this partnership
[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: like you brought up with Black Sass,
[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: meeting Quinton and having somebody
[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_02]: with that much influence and influence in his life,
[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, you're like, okay,
[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I might be able to see this going somewhere for Will.
[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And so going back to Philly,
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_02]: it's seeming like more and more of a stretch
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_02]: for our main character.
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I think at best it will be a family visit,
[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe Thanksgiving in Philly or Christmas in Philly
[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_00]: if we're following through the academic year
[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_00]: for this season.
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we could see,
[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_00]: we're going back to Philly for a little bit,
[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: for like an episode, because also where's Trey?
[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Are we ever gonna see Trey?
[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Is Trey just gone?
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Ash Trey.
[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, who knows?
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_02]: We haven't seen him in so long.
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't like for Will to forget, you know,
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_02]: the people back in Philly as well.
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I love that we see his mom,
[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah, bring us some more Philly back to Bel Air
[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_02]: or some more, you know, trips across the country
[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_02]: to go and, you know, just show him, you know,
[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_02]: the stuff, the life that he had,
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_02]: so that he still appreciates it.
[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause the black says,
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_02]: although it sounds like it would be great in Bel Air,
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure it could do a lot of good
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_02]: in a place like Philly, you know,
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_02]: or these more predominantly blacks,
[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_02]: like areas and neighborhoods.
[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Like if this is supposed to be helping
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_02]: to lift black people,
[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, it's not necessarily confined to Bel Air.
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_02]: You can definitely take this to Philly.
[00:43:51] 100%.
[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_02]: We also got a cameo from Andra Day.
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_02]: She's the one who ends up singing at his wedding
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and she's the star of the movie, The Deliverance,
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_02]: which is the number one movie on Netflix.
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, how topical.
[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we just talked about it here on Recap Kickback.
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you are not checking out our other coverage,
[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_02]: check out Ty, Mari and myself talking about
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_02]: The Deliverance and our reactions to the movie
[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_02]: here on Recap Kickback.
[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_02]: We dropped that this week.
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So I was very happy to see that as well.
[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But about people who we didn't really see in this
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_02]: episode, where was Jackie?
[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we done with Jackie?
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_00]: What else is there with Jackie, right?
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the whole thing with Lisa is like patched up,
[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_00]: even though it was kind of for Will's sake,
[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that's patched up, but also Will has a perspective there.
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_00]: What was the name of their friend they made
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_00]: at the country club that brought Jackie?
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Zaire?
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Zaire, yeah.
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're gonna be a thing.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But beyond that, I don't have much else
[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_00]: because now we're definitely gonna start the next season
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_00]: with school being back on, right?
[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna have the country club chapter closing down.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna be back at Bel Air Academy.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_00]: If he doesn't go back to basketball with a Zenith,
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_00]: then how is Jackie in the picture outside of like,
[00:45:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Viv helping her out with something
[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_00]: or her and Lisa somehow becoming best friends?
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like there's not much,
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_00]: many avenues for Jackie to go from here.
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Agreed.
[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw Jamal Hill appear in this episode as well.
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Paralympian Jamal Hill, he links up with Lisa.
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_02]: They have a good conversation
[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_02]: because she's looking for a sign as to what her next move is.
[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Should she be diving into this swimming thing
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_02]: for no pun intended?
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Or if there's something else
[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_02]: should she be focusing her energy on?
[00:45:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think her conversation with a Paralympian
[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_02]: really does put that into perspective.
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And she said, all right, this must be a sign.
[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_02]: She reached on a double rainbow.
[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And next thing you know,
[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_02]: she's talking to somebody who has competed
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_02]: in multiple Olympic games.
[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And so now it does look like Lisa needs
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_02]: to get her head in the game.
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But I have said this once and I'll say it again.
[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_02]: This season, if it was about Lisa trying
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_02]: to make nationals, she did not attempt.
[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_02]: She was so caught up in the mirror of it all,
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_02]: helping raising her little brother
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_02]: and potentially her step-mom's postpartum depression
[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_02]: that she didn't really get the focus on sports
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_02]: as much as she said she would in episode one.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, but then we did see the development
[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_00]: of that with Enviv literally giving a helping hand
[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_00]: of like, I have resources.
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: If you need help there, I'm always here to help
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_00]: or wherever I can.
[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And by the end of the season, he's like, you know what?
[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll take you up on that.
[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Initially it was a get out of my office.
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You do not know my family.
[00:46:37] [SPEAKER_00]: And then now it's like, you know what?
[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep, you're right.
[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I would like to see those resources
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and I will take all the help I can get.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you very much.
[00:46:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I forgot how much I hated her dad
[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_02]: until these last couple of episodes.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh yeah.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_00]: It took one episode to be like, oh yeah,
[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_00]: that's why I'm happy you're gone.
[00:46:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I hate that guy.
[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Puyo, did you have a favorite part of this episode
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_02]: or these episodes?
[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh God, it's hard to just pick one favorite scene
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_00]: but I feel like, I mean, for me personally
[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was hearing the word Trevor again.
[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_00]: That was like the, like that was,
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm watching the show.
[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm spacing out a little bit.
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I was back online after that.
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_00]: That was huge.
[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think for me personally, it would be that spot.
[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Mine has to do with Trevor as well
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's more when he finds out about Hillary and Jazz.
[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He actually walks in and sees Jazz and Hillary hugging.
[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, why is he here?
[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And Hillary is forced to finally face the music
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and stop lying and just say, hey, okay,
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_02]: here's what happened.
[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_02]: So she talks about how she was going to,
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_02]: that how she kissed Jazz,
[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_02]: how she did the whole closure thing
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and how she was going to tell Lamarcus
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_02]: but she just didn't.
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And he takes off and leaves
[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and it takes Hillary's maid of honor
[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_02]: and one of Lamarcus' groomsmen to get him back on board
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_02]: with even hearing Hillary out.
[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But the conversation between Ashley, Will and Lamarcus
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_02]: when they're sitting on the bench and Will says,
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_02]: you know personally I like Jazz better than you.
[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_02]: You know who I was rooting for.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh that was so funny.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And Hillary's, and Ashley said,
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah it was actually the worst day of my life
[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_02]: when I found out. I wrote a song about it.
[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I wrote a song about it?
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I died because they both came around
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_02]: but they had to make sure he knew, okay,
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_02]: this is a pro jazz household.
[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And so that's how I know Hillary and Jazz,
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_02]: whether we like it or not,
[00:48:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't care what size of the fence you are on
[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_02]: with this one, that's happening.
[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_02]: That's happening and it's probably happening next season.
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It is because I think he's going to be there for her.
[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to give her the space.
[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's going to be a gentleman about it
[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_00]: is the vibe I'm getting.
[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And like remember Jazz's biggest red flag
[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was that he was doing the,
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't handle my girlfriend being more successful
[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_00]: than me so I'm going to be a dick about it.
[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_00]: That was his biggest offense,
[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_00]: but the love was always there.
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Now that he's realized that that doesn't matter
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_00]: or hopefully he realizes that doesn't matter.
[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He hopefully who knows?
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_00]: He's a little bit proud of that one.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_00]: We could see where it goes and I'd be very okay with it
[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_00]: after the appropriate amount of time
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_00]: since you know, Rula Marcus AKA Trevor
[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_00]: literally just died.
[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but now that we've talked through it
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm kind of on the side of
[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_02]: there will be no time jump
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_02]: because we got to get Will back.
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to see the immediate effects
[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_02]: of the death of Lamarca is right?
[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we're going to see Hillary making that phone call
[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_02]: probably or Jazz finding out from Carlton or something
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_02]: that Will is missing and or that, you know,
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_02]: somehow this is going to get to Jazz very early on.
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to be something where we see,
[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_02]: oh months have gone by and now he's okay with it
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_02]: or he's giving her a time.
[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to see Jazz probably fighting
[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_02]: with this back and forth with Lamarca, you know,
[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_02]: the death of Lamarca for a while.
[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And we might even see Hillary because we know
[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_02]: that she might've been in love with Lamarca
[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_02]: but I think she's in love with Jazz too.
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_02]: You can be in love with two people at once.
[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I would love to see how that works out
[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_02]: next season as well just because again,
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to have to watch the Will Day Won't Day
[00:50:08] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's going to be laced with a little
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Cedric Diggory just died.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Why are you kissing me?
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Why are you crying?
[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of situation, you know?
[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So this could be fun, but it's also going to be dark
[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and twisty like most seasons of Bel Air have been.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Regardless, I'm excited.
[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited Puyo about what could come
[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and when that could come.
[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We do not know when season four will be dropping
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_02]: but if it does, hopefully we will be here
[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_02]: to talk about it.
[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_00]: If it drops and we are both still podcasters,
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we'll be talking about it.
[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. That's the plan.
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Whether it's 2026, 2030,
[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_00]: who knows?
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Are we going to get Bel Air before we get GTA six?
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out.
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_02]: We will be waiting forever, but we will be here.
[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully, fingers crossed, all that good stuff
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_02]: whenever the time comes.
[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I just think they can't wait too much longer
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_02]: because Ashley is already 17 in real life.
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I just feel like we as a grown woman playing
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_02]: a 14 year old is not going to fly.
[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, these adults are playing 17 year olds.
[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So like we're already there.
[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_02]: We're pushing it.
[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_02]: We are really pushing it with these people aging
[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_02]: and maturing right before our eyes
[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and also getting very famous.
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Coco Jones, I don't know how much longer
[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to be able to have her for this lovely show.
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Didn't she do the national anthem yesterday?
[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And the NFL game?
[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like a mega star.
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Right. Yeah.
[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Coco Jones is not messing around.
[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And so I could see this really blowing up for her
[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_02]: and not to say that they can't afford her no more
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_02]: but you don't know, maybe they can't.
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And so, yes, I am hoping that they bring season four
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: very quickly, but you know, we will sit around
[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_02]: and wait for the Croms as we always do
[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_02]: because we do love the show
[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm very happy with the cliffhanger that we got.
[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We will be back to see if Eviv is going
[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_02]: to bring us a little Nikki.
[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We will see what happens with Trevor.
[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Amir is far away.
[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Will we get the return of her?
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Is Carlton writing a book
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_02]: or a screenplay about his life?
[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_02]: There's so many questions being left unanswered right now
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that we have plenty of reason to come back
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_02]: but until we do, booyah.
[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We gotta find something else to talk about or something.
[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this could be forever.
[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm game.
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm game.
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: If people wanna give us suggestions, we can hear them out.
[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_00]: If you end up thinking there's a show out there
[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_00]: for you and I to explore, let's do it.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_00]: If I think of something, I'll let you know
