[00:00:00] I think you can find the actionist by gaming sovisour.
[00:00:04] There are now a gameplay on the great main game of the new Faltbaren Samsung Galaxy Z4 6 with adaptive 120 Hz battery.
[00:00:13] Their skills are in the Blast-Out scene, which will be the latest Snapdragon 8G3 for Galaxy Processor, which is a fun game of the latest in the future.
[00:00:22] So, until now, I'm going to be a new galaxy set for sex on Samsung D.
[00:00:51] I'm here to take you through another episode of the podcast, we talk about media, move out
[00:00:56] TV, pop culture and we try to keep it as black as possible whenever we can. Again, I'm
[00:01:01] Shepel and with me, per usual, to talk about all the things and our big movie of the week
[00:01:06] Rebel Ridge, it's Mari Marissa.
[00:01:10] Age fell.
[00:01:11] So glad to be back. I feel like we took a little bit break, you know?
[00:01:15] I was what I did. I was, I don't know if I don't know, but I was on the beach and can't
[00:01:19] go chilling.
[00:01:20] So you go vacation?
[00:01:22] Yes. So there's a lot of things I got to catch up on this week.
[00:01:26] So I'm so glad to talk to you guys about it.
[00:01:29] Yes, we have a lot of things to catch up on as we can. We're going to make sure to take that
[00:01:32] time as well. And so we got a heavy docked and we have Rebel Ridge to talk about.
[00:01:38] So we got to get Mari caught up and we brought in some special guests that you all are familiar
[00:01:41] with from the past. We brought in from the wizard. Good though, podcast, Jason and Jazz. What's up?
[00:01:48] What's going on? Thank you for having us.
[00:01:51] What's good? What's good? I see you got a thousand bottles of baby wool. I buy a bottle.
[00:01:56] I buy it by the gallon. You know, I'm about to gallon. Yeah.
[00:02:01] Okay, we don't talk about that. We definitely going to get into the baby wool and all the other
[00:02:05] crazy stuff because I don't want to jump ahead too far, but we got some big headlines. But thank
[00:02:10] you all for listening to the podcast. Yeah, thank you for subscribing because it's about to get real
[00:02:15] here on Recap Game Back every week. Mari, I think we're going to take some time to kind of focus
[00:02:20] on the things that happen in the media that we don't have time to dive into because a lot of the
[00:02:24] things that happened this last week, I think could have been its own podcast. Yeah, like I said,
[00:02:31] I'm glad I was out of touch because when I came back, I was like, what? Tito Jackson? No,
[00:02:38] like, it was a week to say the least. So I'm definitely glad we're here at all,
[00:02:46] process it together. Yeah, well, let's just go ahead and get in front of that. Tito Jackson has
[00:02:51] passed away at the age of 70. I swear I would have thought Tito Jackson was older than that.
[00:02:57] I don't know why, but 70 years old is pretty young to be just dying like this, but people
[00:03:01] dying that ain't never died before Mari. So, we had Tito, we had Tito, we had the loss of James Earl
[00:03:12] Jones rich homey, Juan and Frankie Beverly all within the span of like 10-ish 11 days jazz. What's your
[00:03:21] reaction to some of this? Because they say it happens in three. They do, but this is more than three.
[00:03:27] So I'm just like, is it something in the air like trying to double up? Because normally you see
[00:03:33] stuff like this. Of course people not saying that, you know, people die all together, but
[00:03:38] normally going towards the end of a year. And so it's just seeing all of this and like you said,
[00:03:43] like around 10 days, just get your whole stage and pray all life is short. Life is very short.
[00:03:50] If I was very short, did you have any of these deaths that stood out to you the most? Like,
[00:03:57] James Earl Jones. Because like he asked me Jason, that's a lot of these. I think he's judging.
[00:04:09] Oh, I had a connection to Lion King and coming to America. Two movies that you just have a
[00:04:16] hatred for my brother, but we're not worried about we can never talk some, we could take a second.
[00:04:21] What you got, not liking the Lion King and coming to America is about his entire Black as it can get.
[00:04:28] Jason, let's give him that. They just, they just, they just not, they just not get for me.
[00:04:35] I prefer the live action Lion King called the Black Panther. That's a better movie than me in my thing.
[00:04:42] Secondly, James Earl Jones almost 100 years old. I hate the past the way he's lived the
[00:04:49] time. It was time. And Jesus is probably walking with him. He was like, he was like,
[00:04:57] he was already there. He was already in the, what was the, not the garbage at the great beginning? What
[00:05:02] was it with the old boy? Up around? No, no, no. It's just a play. No. He was already
[00:05:15] up there. No, no, no. Sorry. We lost James Earl Jones and Jason has eloquently pointed out
[00:05:22] 93 years old. This man is a legend of stage and screen. The Lion King coming to America
[00:05:28] but so many more do you have a favorite James Earl Jones role? Of course the King and coming to
[00:05:40] the voice of Darth Vader. You know, like, you get like iconic just one of the most iconic lines
[00:05:50] in history on your real fuck. That is awesome. You know what I'm saying? Like he's had such a story
[00:05:56] career and so, you know, he deserves all the flowers. He's getting at his, you know, on his home
[00:06:03] home. Yeah, a lot of this question about James Earl Jones and he's last few days but yeah, that's
[00:06:09] no. Not all, not all positive. You know, but you know, we grow, we evolve and then we move on to
[00:06:15] someone with a little bit more positive. Frankie Beverly has passed away as well and this was the
[00:06:20] one that got me. I was just kidding. What? I said, Lord, did he make sure he was right? You know,
[00:06:31] I've been to Frankie Beverly concert and I mean, at this point in the concert like in the touring,
[00:06:37] we sing in just as much as he is. You know, like we know everywhere. I mean, I hit in the notes
[00:06:41] like he used to. So it was like, yeah, you know, it was like before I let you and then he kind of
[00:06:45] go to the crowd for everybody else. Like, yeah, you know, but it was so cool because you know,
[00:06:50] this man makes music for black folks. You know, I know that Frankie Beverly plays the black people in
[00:06:56] school. We go out of a reaction to it. So this was a tough one for me. Jazz, I see you nodding your head
[00:07:01] with a you a big Frankie Beverly fan. I mean, this is a number one song that she would normally play at a
[00:07:06] family union. You have to and so and I just ran with that. Yeah, like all of that. So it's just
[00:07:13] a blessing to be able to have artists like that leads so much a great project for us. But remember
[00:07:19] them. I mean, yeah, I mean, I did it. Play them. I didn't get the
[00:07:26] we. We do. I'm pretty weak. I'm pretty weak. Pretty weak. Yeah, that's another one. Yes,
[00:07:45] all right. That's so nice. You're not supposed to play to edge a wedding. But you know,
[00:07:48] now it is we playing. For yeah, nigga, Susan, I got three. I was literally, I was
[00:07:56] in Cancun for a wedding. They came into the reception to not like us. Like, that is
[00:08:03] this. That's right. If I can't call a game and they plan it.
[00:08:07] It's all a great. It's all a better. If you can't call a grown man, a pet about indoor and middle school
[00:08:14] sports events, when can you do it? You know, where else did you go? So you know, Frankie Beverly
[00:08:21] lived a great life. Obviously a legend in the black community, but probably a legend. And
[00:08:26] I was like, when we read the history books years from now, people are going to be like, oh yeah,
[00:08:29] and then Frankie Beverly showed up. And I like to see that, you know, he was getting honored everywhere.
[00:08:35] Like New Orleans definitely went up for Frankie Beverly because he had a standing appointment
[00:08:38] at the essence festival for years. I remember just being in New Orleans for a few days. Not even
[00:08:43] going to essence. I just happened to be there. And everybody walking out of street wearing white
[00:08:48] linen suits from hands to toe. You know, I was like, God, they get hot in New Orleans and
[00:08:53] it ain't July, but you're committed, man. So you got to pull it without Frankie Beverly.
[00:09:00] I'm a Mr. Guy. You know, like I said, Vincent of concert before, but also the when I
[00:09:04] hear the songs now, they go hit a little different. You know, golden time today. That's my shit.
[00:09:10] So, you know, you don't see that. Oh, my bad. Wow.
[00:09:19] Moving on. Martin. Martin. Rich, Richard, how be quiet past the way as well. Yeah. And we saw his funeral
[00:09:29] proceedings. They were open to the public and it looks like on September 17th, so earlier today,
[00:09:37] they actually brought people in to the World Changes Church International and College Park
[00:09:42] for the visitation and the services started at 11 o'clock. So I was looking at the pictures and stuff.
[00:09:47] It looked really like beautiful. But seeing Rich on me, quiet past the way. This is like,
[00:09:51] you know, in your mind, you could probably reason with 70 year old Tito, you know, 70
[00:09:59] Frankie 93. Well, when you get to Rich home, he's like, this is, this is due to 34 years old and
[00:10:07] he's no like, it's sad. It is. And it, and there was, I'll have to find it, but there's
[00:10:15] there was like an article about like the lost generation of rappers, like all of these
[00:10:21] rappers that are dying at this age. You know, I don't know what Rich on the quantite of.
[00:10:30] Win great. But is it a great death? I mean, well, you guys, old age, you could die,
[00:10:41] from something that was unavoidable or something like that. But it seems to me like, this was an overdose.
[00:10:47] Oh, I think that's what I heard. Yeah, like there's a generation of rappers, like,
[00:10:53] chas generation, like that had been dying of overdoses in the last six years or so. Well, we got,
[00:11:01] we got juice world, like, and then on top of the ones that were losing from drug use,
[00:11:09] or also losing ones by murder, you know, I like, get gun violence, take off, nipsy.
[00:11:19] What's that boy named? Exitation. That's how you say well. Yeah,
[00:11:22] accentuation. It's too many, it's too many syllables. Too many X's in there. Our excitation is
[00:11:28] like the boy. Yeah, it's not a whole middle generation that is just like, wow, like, and you
[00:11:36] really like stop and realize it, like, you all think about it. It would be like, so we lost
[00:11:42] biggie in pop, right? And that was like, huge, right? And then, like, but they're losing their,
[00:11:50] like, all of their people. It would be like, if we lost biggie, pop, day, now it's like, yeah,
[00:11:55] all of the time, all of the time, you know, not in a equivalent of, you know,
[00:12:00] artistry or anything like that. But I mean, just like, this is a lot of rappers that are like dying.
[00:12:09] And I mean, sorry, this is my, my adult had here, uh, Sentinel and drugs of abuse. Like,
[00:12:20] this is, it's not a game. Like, shit is being put in drugs that you just do cannot comprehend.
[00:12:27] The US is not stemming this epidemic at all. And, you know, it's, it's not being pushed into the,
[00:12:36] the narrative or the conscious of the country as much as I think it should be. Like, I personally
[00:12:42] know people who like died from fentanyl overdose when they thought they were buying weed gummies.
[00:12:48] You know what I'm saying? Like, please be careful out there. As all I'm just saying is like,
[00:12:53] please be careful out there because it is, it is not a game. There's, there's so much flown around that you just
[00:13:00] might not know. Yeah, let's go back to the funny stuff. Well, okay. Well, what,
[00:13:07] what did we, you know, what did you, what did I say? You, I know you, you keep up with a lot of
[00:13:11] the music in the hip hop as well. Um, seeing Rich on me, quite like this and such a early age.
[00:13:17] What do you think? I mean, we decided to age. So he definitely hit that was like leaving college
[00:13:25] during that time. So when his music was actually popping, that was something that we listened to.
[00:13:30] We played all the time. So with something that was very relevant to it, like him,
[00:13:35] you know, he's, he's passed away. Young thugs in jail, possibly facing the life sentence.
[00:13:40] And even before that, it was, I know it's outside of their realm, but she, um,
[00:13:44] I'm in Arkansas. So, Texas was a big thing for us. So be king, like when I came to Arkansas,
[00:13:50] when I went up and he died of, I wanted to say it was a hard company. So if I'm not mistaken,
[00:13:55] whatever it was my past out and passed out and he died in front of his kids. So it's just like,
[00:13:59] I just want to go, you know, make sure you guys go get your well, it's well-nitched, kind of like what
[00:14:03] marriage is it? Like she got her, though, had on shit. Go tell yourself as black men and as black women,
[00:14:09] we have to take care of myself as we can. So it's a very important thing. So we got it on all sides,
[00:14:16] the gun violence, the violence industry that you got health complications, you have drug
[00:14:21] complications. One of them is avoidable for sure. The drug, the drug is the drug use.
[00:14:27] That's avoidable that you don't, it's something that you don't have to do as far as your health.
[00:14:31] I mean, honestly, they do something as is avoidable. I can't say as far as how you work out
[00:14:36] but as far as what you eat and what you consume, that's very important man. We got to
[00:14:40] just come to home. I'm trying to get to the great beyond which games are a joke.
[00:14:45] I'm trying to get in my life. And Jason, you just reminded me, Fatman Scoot.
[00:14:56] Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
[00:14:59] And he collapsed on stage, I believe.
[00:15:02] Yeah. Yeah. So many losses, but especially like you said in the hip-hop community again,
[00:15:10] it's like in your mind, some people like, oh, yeah, they lived a long life, but 34, 50,
[00:15:15] you know, you're like, what are you talking about? These people have a lot more to go and
[00:15:17] lot more to give, but you got to take care of yourself. Jason's gotten his back a little bit
[00:15:22] smaller and so now he's preaching. He said that. He said that. He said that. I report to
[00:15:30] his. I don't make it. Jasmine was funny. No, that was a good one. Yeah, we got to answer that.
[00:15:37] Oh, no, we're first guy. You let him stop all over you, man. Do you want to be the
[00:15:45] judge? I'm not just up instigating. Do you have any final words to say about any of the
[00:15:50] our fallen artists or like, or these actors and these people that, you know, at the
[00:15:55] end of the year when they do all their award shows, we're going to see those in
[00:15:58] a more, more, more, more, more type situations in. We're going to say, hey, I forgot
[00:16:03] it. They guys are just, oh my gosh, I just said that too because it always happens. And we
[00:16:07] got to take time to give these people out of flowers. Yeah, absolutely. And I think just continuing
[00:16:12] to watch their projects, listen to their music keeps their spirit alive because we think of
[00:16:16] all the people that passed in the past and how we still watch them and then, you know, give
[00:16:22] appreciation to them. So I think that's the best way to let their spirits live on through their projects.
[00:16:27] Yeah, and I don't want to yada yada Tito. I know I started with Tito, but Tito, listen,
[00:16:33] Tito didn't use to, when I was growing up, I remember Tito was a joke of the Jackson's. They
[00:16:37] were like, oh, you know, you know, he's just Tito. Tito, there in no Jackson five without Tito. Okay,
[00:16:43] he was thinking that room, learning the guitar, you know, you ain't going to find no,
[00:16:46] like we don't, we don't talk about the Jackson's here on this podcast. We're going to do nothing
[00:16:50] else. And so, Tito went in there and he really did, learned that guitar and was really part of the
[00:16:56] season while the Jackson five and ultimately Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson. There were all so successful.
[00:17:01] And it starts with people like, you know, the older Jackson's, you know, so we love Michael,
[00:17:06] but, you know, without the sacrifices and the commitment of his brothers and his family, you know,
[00:17:10] he wouldn't have got there either. So, shout out to Tito, that would hurt too, Marry. I was like,
[00:17:14] hey, Tito. Yeah, yeah, and it reminds me, it reminds you that, like, Michael was so young when
[00:17:20] he got, he was 50 when he died and that was 15 years ago. You know what I'm saying? Like,
[00:17:25] the time is crazy, but yeah, and yeah, Portito did that and I, I didn't all of that. So,
[00:17:34] definitely go get yourself checked out. And also you look at, I was like, you look at stuff like
[00:17:40] there's nothing to stop me. When you look at stuff like that, like at first you know,
[00:17:43] you really don't realize what it looks like, but then I'm looking at it now, like my parents
[00:17:47] are 50. You know what I mean? Like it's like, oh, shit. That's what they're like. You know,
[00:17:51] that's what that look like. Great time they're coming up 34, I'm 34. So it's just, it's like when you
[00:17:56] thought putting it in, it's very impressive. Like, that is like man, this crazy. Uh-huh. Yeah.
[00:18:01] Yeah. So we're going move away from the death because I was kind of dark. But let me tell you something.
[00:18:06] We're not going move away from Michael Jackson just now because I think it's jazz. I'll start with you
[00:18:11] because you all jazz, you do a really good job of keeping your ear to the street of what's coming
[00:18:15] out. I know you have posted before that are we supposed to get a Michael Jackson
[00:18:18] documentary series? It's like, I mean, up like every time I look up they add in people to the
[00:18:23] cast. When is the release date for this movie? So I believe it's dropping in December. I think
[00:18:29] they're doing it around Christmas but I haven't seen any kind of trailer for it because Neil
[00:18:33] long is playing his mother and then um the main man called yeah and they took a picture. I'm not
[00:18:40] sure I do remember hearing this like the picture. They they look good and I'll be the first to say
[00:18:46] because me and Jason had this conversation. I was just like, I wasn't sure how I would feel about
[00:18:50] Neil being Catherine because Neil brings that strong personality when it's just like I was like
[00:18:57] let's Catherine like that you know that strong person I saw wasn't sure how she'd do in that role but
[00:19:03] I mean visually it looks great so they say that's going to make a Billy. Oh yeah. Oh really? Like
[00:19:10] this is going to do that. It's going to do it in his mouth just after the name of the
[00:19:15] off the strength of the name so they can't they got a they're going to have to do it just when they bring
[00:19:20] it into the film and they're going to be like I didn't see the Whitneywood I know people some people
[00:19:24] enjoy the time. The uh a Rita Franklin I didn't watch that one but I hear a lot of people praise you
[00:19:33] you know I see I mean what you see them you know they do it end of you are some justice
[00:19:40] I feel like I want to even though I look down some things I bet that hit why the niggas
[00:19:49] didn't run out. We're in case right but whatever you know people the numbers getting pulled lightly
[00:19:56] right. Oh no Whitneywood and felt like a flash for it of her life it was weirdly
[00:20:03] pace the acting was good really pain yeah just one love the Bob Marley oh please don't
[00:20:11] I was going to watch it but I believe it was Jason and Jasmine Toby not to
[00:20:15] no Jason I did okay so I'm sorry nobody told me not to watch that I'm sure it was Jason
[00:20:22] I'm so bad. Yeah that's what I was like she wasn't so bad. I want to fight Ziggum
[00:20:31] Marley put it out there put it in the gym sorry but I got it I got to see him.
[00:20:37] Before we move on I'm already I did find the picture there you go look at that
[00:20:41] like that's called the mingo and he alone. Oh it's your Catherine and so you know
[00:20:46] that would be like he like he like he was a man. Oh yeah he definitely put a hand in feet
[00:20:54] the aim of being hated. Yeah this one of the roles that you're going to be hated from but you
[00:20:59] know people respect the like success out of it you know they're like okay well maybe
[00:21:04] certain things have to happen so you to have the greatest pop star and you know all time greatest
[00:21:08] musician of all time artists of all time you know sacrifices must be made it's going to be hard
[00:21:13] to watch but I'm very excited because these two actors are some big names and they have plenty
[00:21:17] of big names on that list just it's always popping up and I just never see any type of like okay
[00:21:23] when is going to come out where we're going to watch it where can we find it is it going to
[00:21:26] theater jazz I believe so yes. Yeah that's something that's probably a major the last
[00:21:32] good one was in the NBA but a new addition. Yeah by our power is by our
[00:21:39] yeah we might have to bring back the pop conversations because those were those are always
[00:21:43] new addition was great yeah those were always fun okay so next up I really try to avoid jump in here
[00:21:55] too quickly uh you can you can pimp from new addition he's saying that the word from a
[00:22:02] you know even whirling none of my business okay we're all like I say all right so
[00:22:28] Ryan Destiny is a big name out these days.
[00:22:32] She's coming up in a movie and I've been seeing a lot of advertisements about this one as well.
[00:22:37] I believe it's about her being a boxer.
[00:22:41] And I was like, okay, what we doing here Ryan Destiny, but I've seen the trailer several times.
[00:22:45] And it's called The Fire Inside with Brian Tyre Henry from Atlanta.
[00:22:51] Mari have you seen any trailers for this movie?
[00:22:54] No, I have it.
[00:22:56] And shame on the industry for doing absolutely nothing to worry.
[00:23:00] And Destiny, oh my god, the girl is beautiful and can act.
[00:23:05] And you know what?
[00:23:06] I don't like boxing, but I'll go and see it.
[00:23:09] Like, no.
[00:23:11] There we are.
[00:23:12] Yeah, interesting.
[00:23:14] Christmas.
[00:23:15] Yeah, okay.
[00:23:16] Christmas day.
[00:23:17] The fire inside.
[00:23:19] Yeah, oh, I've been seeing a lot of the trailers recently.
[00:23:21] I think they just dropped the theatrical trailer.
[00:23:23] And so it's been kind of like in rotation on commercials and stuff like that.
[00:23:26] Jazz, do you plan on going to see this one?
[00:23:29] Got a support.
[00:23:30] Black Tupies.
[00:23:32] So.
[00:23:33] And she fight like you do.
[00:23:35] What's happening?
[00:23:36] Wait a minute.
[00:23:38] Wait a minute.
[00:23:39] Like what?
[00:23:39] Where did that come from?
[00:23:41] Because you'd be fighting.
[00:23:43] I know a boy friend was saying he's like, supporting somebody.
[00:23:46] I was talking about a project on CDs and I don't change out.
[00:23:50] I'm like, I don't know if I'm stopped.
[00:23:53] What does this, I mean, I don't know who she is.
[00:23:56] I'm familiar with Ryan Disney, but acting, I can't say.
[00:24:00] I can't say.
[00:24:01] Yeah, I'm very excited to see what this is going to be like.
[00:24:04] Married, definitely check out the trailer.
[00:24:05] I'll make sure I send it to you.
[00:24:06] But yeah, if you're listening to this, you haven't.
[00:24:08] Get into it because the fire inside is coming soon.
[00:24:10] And it does look like it's going to be really good.
[00:24:14] And, you know, I think that we again, we got to go support these things.
[00:24:17] Now, Christmas day.
[00:24:18] I'm probably not going to be their Christmas day.
[00:24:20] But he's some people in their Christmas day to catch it.
[00:24:22] And I'm hoping that it makes a little money too.
[00:24:24] Because again, we got to support these black movies and films.
[00:24:27] So they not going to do it for us.
[00:24:29] And that leads us to our next topic.
[00:24:32] Married, we had the Emmys.
[00:24:35] And this year at the Emmys, you know,
[00:24:37] I was very excited to see some of my favorite actors and actresses come out here
[00:24:42] and take awards from my favorite shows, specifically,
[00:24:45] Abbott Elementary, the moment they pop up and they're like,
[00:24:48] OK, Abbott's going to get a few nominations for this.
[00:24:50] You're going to have a couple of people not.
[00:24:51] But you're going to have some wins in the Abbott category.
[00:24:54] Abbott being in the comedy category is great for Abbott.
[00:24:57] Because it makes total sense.
[00:24:59] But also in that category is the bear.
[00:25:02] And there's a lot of controversy over if the bear fits in this category at all.
[00:25:09] Right.
[00:25:10] There's nothing in here that makes you laugh.
[00:25:12] You're not laughing at all.
[00:25:15] Like that show is so stressful.
[00:25:17] You might have been chuckle once or twice, but people know that that series is not comedy.
[00:25:25] Yeah, the dark.
[00:25:26] It's a dark comedy.
[00:25:27] Hey, now it.
[00:25:29] It has his moments.
[00:25:32] And this year, Jean Smart won for outstanding lead actors in the comedy series,
[00:25:37] which this is her third time winning out of four years for hacks.
[00:25:44] I heard hacks was really good.
[00:25:46] I haven't watched it yet, but like Quinta snatched it from her last year,
[00:25:54] which is why I think we all thought it would happen again.
[00:25:58] But then Jean Smart came wrong back and got it again.
[00:26:01] But my biggest thing I think a lot of it because I think was,
[00:26:05] a degree from the bear was finally bumped over to the outstanding lead actress category.
[00:26:12] So that her co-star was in the supporting role and she won.
[00:26:17] Oh, it's about Lisa Cologne's Ias.
[00:26:19] That's what you're talking about.
[00:26:19] Yes, yes, she won for best supporting, which shout out to her.
[00:26:25] But now I don't want anything.
[00:26:27] So it's very interesting that like the bear and Abbott,
[00:26:31] which won so much last year is now like, didn't win a well,
[00:26:37] at least her black hair for the black clothes.
[00:26:40] Yeah, didn't win this year.
[00:26:43] Yeah.
[00:26:44] So Abbott in the past has gotten it looks like about,
[00:26:47] one, two, three for party seven, eight somewhere around eight nominations a season.
[00:26:53] So like 2022, about eight, they won two,
[00:26:56] they won outstanding supporting actress for Shirley Ralph,
[00:27:01] Quince of Bronson wins for writing.
[00:27:03] They end up Quince obviously like you said wins for lead actress in the comedy series and
[00:27:08] 2023.
[00:27:09] But she was the only one who won in 2023.
[00:27:11] And in this year, they were completely shut out a total of eight nominations again.
[00:27:17] I think eight nominations, no winners and I was shocked because if you're listening to this,
[00:27:21] you know that we talk about Abbott Elementary G and I talk about it.
[00:27:24] We would be talking about the upcoming season.
[00:27:25] And we think that Abbott deserves this image,
[00:27:28] but people like the bear Jason is the bear comedy.
[00:27:32] It's not, I truly, I feel like they put bear in it.
[00:27:38] They put the bear in that category just to know that's not personal belief because
[00:27:45] the bear, the war is that the bear won for was season two.
[00:27:51] We just left season three.
[00:27:52] So like they're not even winning a war for the current show that we're watching at this present time.
[00:27:58] Now, that's not to say because I don't know,
[00:28:00] I don't know what Abbott had nominated.
[00:28:04] So it could have been season two and I see some things we did, you know, we watch.
[00:28:08] So I don't know how that worked but as far as it being like a lead,
[00:28:12] like the tones of the show was completely different.
[00:28:15] It'll be different if it was Apple's to Apple, but it's completely apples and oranges.
[00:28:19] It's not, it is.
[00:28:22] So the bear won out basically for the 30 minutes sitcom TV show and come.
[00:28:28] And they won all those 30 minutes and then they let their bullshit show going win all the out of it.
[00:28:34] Wait, you're like, show gun either.
[00:28:37] Hey, show gun.
[00:28:38] Show gun, show gun was overrated.
[00:28:42] It started strong and it ended terribly.
[00:28:46] Okay, shout out to the Japanese community for winning their first, you know, it's funny.
[00:28:51] We still win it's 2024.
[00:28:52] We still say people won first.
[00:28:55] When it comes to it and I felt like it was the one thing show came in.
[00:28:58] I was like, oh yeah, this is the shoe win.
[00:29:00] The show that was supposed to be a series, a limited series is now getting a second season.
[00:29:07] They are, they, they, they, they, they, they won the most awards.
[00:29:10] And like I, I truly don't know what.
[00:29:12] I'm just saying when I watching it, because it's, it's a, it's a show about conversation.
[00:29:17] I'm not with it, you know, I'm saying, it's all about what wood, what could and how he's playing.
[00:29:21] A dimensional fuck that kid or somebody knocks from his or do some of the people are killing
[00:29:26] they self more so than people are killing them, you know, saying like, I'm cool.
[00:29:31] Like, I got, I got a dad by honor.
[00:29:33] So either if I don't kill him or kill myself.
[00:29:36] No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we ain't doing that.
[00:29:38] We might, like I, snow falling, you know, ghosting, not power wouldn't get enough.
[00:29:45] How many interviews would the vampire season one?
[00:29:47] And if you were to have that, I was either the one.
[00:29:49] Let's talk about that.
[00:29:51] That's it.
[00:29:52] Yeah, if they don't get nominated for season two, season two, sweeping.
[00:29:55] It needs to take a little bit of an easy sweep.
[00:29:58] It has to.
[00:29:59] Damn.
[00:30:00] We shall see, but those are good points, you know, we see show that not necessarily
[00:30:04] comedies winning in the comedy realm and kind of stopping some of these black
[00:30:08] excellence from shining through.
[00:30:10] And then we also see show that my necessarily, I'd be where we see by everybody,
[00:30:14] but you see things that might be more where we see us, you know, not really getting the play.
[00:30:19] That's, that's what we do here, right?
[00:30:20] We highlight these things.
[00:30:22] Yeah, I personally, I really like show gun.
[00:30:26] I will give it to you Jason though.
[00:30:28] The ending was terrible.
[00:30:29] I was like, are you?
[00:30:33] Like, what once you get to the ending, you're like, oh, so this was just like 12 hour,
[00:30:39] like, rubbed and tug with no finish because we hadn't got to pee to the
[00:30:46] yet, Marry.
[00:30:46] So please stay on tell me.
[00:30:48] Yeah, my bad, my bad, my bad.
[00:30:50] But yeah, no, we have to point out the greatness of our shows because again,
[00:30:59] we cannot depend on these white award shows to do it.
[00:31:04] We don't even have time to talk about the snub of the century of Beyonce,
[00:31:09] not getting any country and musical award domination.
[00:31:13] I might need to step aside from time to time if I really wanted to bring that down.
[00:31:18] But yeah, snubed again, you know?
[00:31:20] And so I was like, they're not going to appreciate our artistry.
[00:31:22] Then we got to go out of our way.
[00:31:24] It's just like, tension, oh, man.
[00:31:26] Oh, my God.
[00:31:27] Anyway, oh my God.
[00:31:29] All right, let's go.
[00:31:30] We got to know it all.
[00:31:32] But now we got to do the same with it.
[00:31:33] My last image tank.
[00:31:36] Yeah, you know, I don't hate this in the end.
[00:31:39] But I understand now and I should be, I should have been championing her a bit more
[00:31:47] to keep on winning them fucking awards from the white people that they was getting.
[00:31:51] I should have kept on, I should have kept on.
[00:31:54] But if one of them, it's the right as they can get us together and they keep trying to make
[00:31:58] the girl show a body and the key kind of make the other girl be bleeding on screen.
[00:32:02] She said, I ain't with that.
[00:32:04] So yeah, you four years ridiculous.
[00:32:06] I don't watch that nonsense.
[00:32:07] I thought what you're like, also is it coming back?
[00:32:09] Yeah, 26.
[00:32:11] They're saying, yeah, it's gonna be older than me.
[00:32:13] They're getting older than me.
[00:32:13] They're getting older than me.
[00:32:14] They're getting older.
[00:32:15] You know, they got to be five years.
[00:32:18] Oh, okay.
[00:32:19] They might give me back with that.
[00:32:21] Oh, I'm a retoon.
[00:32:23] I'm a retoon.
[00:32:25] If I give me two and two that,
[00:32:28] Janky as we can ask you that they put out and watch that for,
[00:32:33] I hate watched it for five weeks.
[00:32:35] I hate watch.
[00:32:36] I don't hate watch.
[00:32:37] That was the only thing I would ever hate watch.
[00:32:40] It was the only thing I've ever hate watched in my life.
[00:32:42] But it was like, it was like a slow motion train wreck.
[00:32:45] And I've like, I have to watch how this ends because this is ridiculous.
[00:32:49] And it was just insane.
[00:32:53] It was so bad.
[00:32:55] Like we can should be getting as asked me for that like on a soap out.
[00:32:58] But I knew album about the come out, I'm ready.
[00:33:00] Okay, just let me just learn that out there.
[00:33:02] You know, even breadcrumbs, we about this album.
[00:33:04] I need to see that okay?
[00:33:05] So give us some space little bit of blood.
[00:33:08] Yeah, look at that.
[00:33:09] Let's do that.
[00:33:11] I'm such a big fan, but he's too corny.
[00:33:13] He's so corny now.
[00:33:14] I'm like, if growing on me now, back in the early days,
[00:33:16] he used what to do.
[00:33:17] How was it?
[00:33:18] I was it down.
[00:33:19] Well, he stopped trying to sink as much.
[00:33:20] You know, like now he kind of in his like,
[00:33:22] do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do.
[00:33:24] Like he kind of in that little sit up from a baby.
[00:33:27] Like that.
[00:33:28] Yeah, I like that.
[00:33:29] I don't like that.
[00:33:29] Tell me love me.
[00:33:31] I love you.
[00:33:32] I love you.
[00:33:33] That's my out.
[00:33:35] Yeah.
[00:33:35] I was last the quote, the quote, the quote, the quote.
[00:33:38] The quote, the quote.
[00:33:39] Yeah, last thing about the bear before we moved on,
[00:33:42] I've seen the most recent season of the bear.
[00:33:44] It better not win nothing.
[00:33:45] me superman I went.
[00:33:48] Yeah, no don't spoil because I did not finish that.
[00:33:53] I'm just saying I'll be the one.
[00:33:55] I'll be the only her boy.
[00:33:56] I'll be boy cutting from outside the building.
[00:33:58] Yeah, that's me.
[00:33:59] Boy, I did boy cutting in the end of these because I just didn't see it for that season.
[00:34:05] But we moved.
[00:34:06] We got more to talk about.
[00:34:07] I'm glad you brought up music.
[00:34:09] We were just talking about the weekend a super bowl.
[00:34:11] A former super bowl performer and the announcement.
[00:34:14] We have just in time for the weather.
[00:34:17] Good.
[00:34:17] Oh, my God, people to come back.
[00:34:20] Sometimes you've got a pop out and show some but no.
[00:34:22] Okay, so we got Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the super
[00:34:27] old half time show former this year and jazz nicotine.
[00:34:31] Matt, they are so upset.
[00:34:35] That's the time.
[00:34:35] The time was in shambles.
[00:34:37] I'm like, yeah, like I'm nothing else to do.
[00:34:39] Y'all passing out other people like it should have been Wayne Kendrick
[00:34:42] and she did.
[00:34:43] They just made a drink.
[00:34:45] I'm just seeing all of this on a timeline.
[00:34:47] I'm like, why are you arguing with people?
[00:34:51] It was ridiculous.
[00:34:52] Because it's not been named came out and started calling Jay Zee the
[00:34:56] Buggie man like they always do.
[00:34:58] Oh yeah, we don't have to hear her because we can't do that here because
[00:35:02] they're going to be in the comments to find a little listen.
[00:35:04] Listen, we love her too.
[00:35:06] We do.
[00:35:07] She's amazing.
[00:35:08] I really loved.
[00:35:11] She was kind of wrong.
[00:35:12] She's wrong.
[00:35:13] You didn't see the last post on their job like you know, the
[00:35:17] ED and Jay Zee will make this.
[00:35:19] I mean, she's still wrong because I just thought it was that how she made
[00:35:22] this about her.
[00:35:24] Man, oh, just the first the first tweet I seen was to take out your
[00:35:29] and you hate us so bad.
[00:35:31] Me, like, her, man, I was like, you know, it was just no.
[00:35:36] Right.
[00:35:37] She made sure to let y'all know.
[00:35:39] Okay, I'm like, all right.
[00:35:40] I just saw a little way perform at the Russell Mania this year.
[00:35:45] I wasn't keeping keeping.
[00:35:48] I say more words of a milly than he did.
[00:35:51] Like, they're that I'm sorry.
[00:35:55] I don't.
[00:35:57] We're doing too much for y'all to hear hot boys like I don't know.
[00:36:02] Like, I don't.
[00:36:03] Yeah.
[00:36:03] I don't know.
[00:36:04] That was a real negative.
[00:36:05] Like, so we're here to Super Bowl.
[00:36:08] It's just like, right.
[00:36:10] What could he actually perform a milly?
[00:36:14] He definitely.
[00:36:14] I'm trying to hear.
[00:36:15] Yeah, that's I'm trying to hear.
[00:36:17] Oh, Lali pop.
[00:36:18] Yeah.
[00:36:19] Oh, my God.
[00:36:20] That's another one.
[00:36:21] I like Lali pop but do.
[00:36:22] I'm not saying we didn't have hits.
[00:36:24] I'm just saying he's not a performer.
[00:36:26] I'm sorry if you get away from not a musical then I would think like that.
[00:36:31] There we go.
[00:36:31] But like when today, like he looked at news, it broke him.
[00:36:37] But when he saw all those people fighting for him, it put him back together.
[00:36:42] I think that's when he lost me.
[00:36:43] That was the moment he lost me when I when we saw the cry and video.
[00:36:46] I was like, all right, let's let's just be guided here.
[00:36:50] Okay, let's just let's not lose.
[00:36:52] Let's let loose the plot.
[00:36:53] You know, the way I just and you wanted this, but you brought this up.
[00:36:57] Wayne 10 years ago would have been a little bit more like feasible,
[00:37:01] but also Wayne 12 years ago, the super world was in New Orleans,
[00:37:06] the way and it wasn't you didn't.
[00:37:08] And I didn't see all of this, you know,
[00:37:10] it was basically a world of all time.
[00:37:13] And Beyonce tried to steal it from us.
[00:37:14] Murray was up which will go watch you make a life go out because she's that good.
[00:37:19] And she's what about us.
[00:37:21] We've got to matter.
[00:37:23] We ain't one.
[00:37:27] I'm sorry, read out over to you.
[00:37:29] I just can't.
[00:37:30] I can't do it right now.
[00:37:32] My team.
[00:37:33] Yeah, you with us are the choices.
[00:37:35] Yeah, we don't know.
[00:37:36] I'm not about them.
[00:37:37] I don't be there.
[00:37:39] You got a bag.
[00:37:41] I'd be like, hands, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
[00:37:43] I don't know.
[00:37:47] I don't know.
[00:37:48] I don't be like like like like like like like like like like,
[00:37:51] Oh, oh, I was back to say,
[00:37:55] yeah, now we, we cool on Wayne.
[00:37:58] Shout out to Beyonce.
[00:37:59] She got it two or three times and what I want to make.
[00:38:01] Everybody keep on skipping over the point of it was two years ago.
[00:38:04] It's been in the war.
[00:38:05] It was this many years ago.
[00:38:06] Who was there?
[00:38:07] And he was in Houston.
[00:38:08] I see rappers weren't head liners.
[00:38:10] So that that conversation is dead.
[00:38:13] It just became a thing.
[00:38:14] It just became a thing with Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr.
[00:38:17] Yeah, I was one day dated two and guess what Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr.
[00:38:19] Was there when he was in line?
[00:38:20] That's why the fucking company.
[00:38:22] I'll be forgetting.
[00:38:24] I'm not a moth.
[00:38:24] Let me know if you're fine.
[00:38:27] You're fine.
[00:38:27] You're fine.
[00:38:27] You're fine.
[00:38:27] You're fine.
[00:38:28] You're fine.
[00:38:28] You're fine.
[00:38:29] But he was in LA as the headliner.
[00:38:33] And he had fucking Ken Jaguimar on this.
[00:38:37] And then they fought to bring fit and they fought to have 50 set on the show.
[00:38:41] Like it was like, it was a whole thing.
[00:38:43] So I'm just saying like when people are saying,
[00:38:45] It wasn't it.
[00:38:45] Why? Why not?
[00:38:46] It was a thing.
[00:38:47] We didn't even.
[00:38:48] Black people were argument.
[00:38:49] They didn't even.
[00:38:50] I used to skip the half time show.
[00:38:52] I was having you here.
[00:38:54] And today's what we're making it.
[00:38:56] It was like eight years after Janet,
[00:38:59] they were just.
[00:39:01] No, I didn't.
[00:39:02] Oh my, you made.
[00:39:03] They made sure nobody could flash anything.
[00:39:06] Yeah.
[00:39:07] Yeah. The only bright spot we got in that stretch was Prince.
[00:39:10] Yeah.
[00:39:11] That was a good one.
[00:39:13] Okay.
[00:39:13] Yes.
[00:39:14] I agree.
[00:39:15] What's a clarity?
[00:39:16] You know, as someone who has been in two Super Bowl half-time show,
[00:39:19] thank you. Thank you.
[00:39:20] Thank you.
[00:39:21] No, me.
[00:39:22] I will point out that to a, to a, to a, both of them.
[00:39:26] Both of them.
[00:39:27] You see me?
[00:39:29] Look at Andy's and with right there on stage.
[00:39:31] Okay.
[00:39:32] Colle, Colle, what did he say?
[00:39:34] But what?
[00:39:35] Okay.
[00:39:35] So as someone who was into those things,
[00:39:37] I would say that, you know,
[00:39:39] the first ever, you know, headliner like that was a rapper for Super Bowl
[00:39:43] to have a single, you know, headliner.
[00:39:46] This will be Kendrick Lamar.
[00:39:47] Dr. Dre was headlining with or other people,
[00:39:51] as we know Mary J. Blies,
[00:39:53] a Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and a 50 cent I believe.
[00:39:58] And then when they'm, so it was a whole slew of people.
[00:40:00] But you're right, that this is the person that four people caught.
[00:40:04] Hey, well, Dr. Dre got to be in his hometown.
[00:40:06] You know, why can't we do the same thing?
[00:40:08] So it makes sense for people to want Wayne by thinking again.
[00:40:12] My point here is that this might be a little bit overblown.
[00:40:14] You know what I'm saying?
[00:40:15] And just to, you know, make this a little spicier.
[00:40:20] If this was a covert attack on Dre from Jay Z himself.
[00:40:27] Look at Kendrick.
[00:40:27] You look at my boy. Okay.
[00:40:29] Cause we talk about this way back.
[00:40:31] Wayne, you know, I said, that's man is the book you made.
[00:40:33] Drake don't want it with him bigger than the what?
[00:40:36] Super Bowl, right?
[00:40:38] Drake turned down the Super Bowl.
[00:40:39] I think the reports are saying he's turned down the Super Bowl twice.
[00:40:42] But they didn't say as a headliner,
[00:40:43] they just said, that's Super Bowl.
[00:40:44] So it could have been Drake anything.
[00:40:45] It had been passed on.
[00:40:47] Oh, my God.
[00:40:47] Karen did.
[00:40:48] He could have been.
[00:40:49] It could have been.
[00:40:51] I accused it like you just said, Jay said, we just tried.
[00:40:54] No, no, no, no, no.
[00:40:54] We just started doing this.
[00:40:55] Nicky Minaj has been at the Super Bowl before.
[00:40:57] But she was back up with some of Donna.
[00:41:00] You know, it happens.
[00:41:01] So I'm just saying.
[00:41:03] Drake.
[00:41:03] Yeah.
[00:41:04] Dr. Dre shared the stage with Kendrick.
[00:41:06] You think you think you think you think you think you think any of them people
[00:41:09] are you going to drink?
[00:41:12] Kendrick.
[00:41:16] No.
[00:41:17] No.
[00:41:18] No.
[00:41:19] No.
[00:41:19] No.
[00:41:19] No.
[00:41:20] I'm checking out Drake's performance.
[00:41:22] I'm going to perform a signature.
[00:41:24] We can't, okay.
[00:41:25] You can't see.
[00:41:26] You can't see.
[00:41:27] Can't see.
[00:41:27] If we go on our position, we can't see.
[00:41:31] This.
[00:41:32] And we'll see you perform it.
[00:41:33] It's a bowl of half-time show.
[00:41:34] I think they might give me some of the artists.
[00:41:36] No, I don't be going to.
[00:41:37] I'm a Kendrick's plans.
[00:41:38] I'm a better rapper.
[00:41:40] Not like good.
[00:41:41] I hate him.
[00:41:41] I'm very.
[00:41:43] He's like a couple.
[00:41:45] He is.
[00:41:46] No.
[00:41:47] You got to say the whole thing.
[00:41:48] It's like a tropical quiz.
[00:41:49] You said, the whole thing or disrespectful.
[00:41:50] But did not show pretty much headline last year.
[00:41:53] I should have had him.
[00:41:54] He did.
[00:41:55] He's a singer.
[00:41:57] All right.
[00:41:58] All right.
[00:41:58] All right.
[00:41:59] All these.
[00:42:00] He's a rapper.
[00:42:01] So we got to be in the house.
[00:42:03] We said no, we said it.
[00:42:04] We said it was a reasonable request.
[00:42:06] But that does not also mean that everybody else is like outside of that rapper like parameters.
[00:42:11] Okay.
[00:42:12] Like us did and do this in Atlanta.
[00:42:14] The weekend, not even from the last year.
[00:42:17] It was in Vegas.
[00:42:19] It was in Vegas.
[00:42:21] Yeah.
[00:42:21] I mean, I was like, it's almost like a second on a push.
[00:42:23] It's basically.
[00:42:24] I'm like, you know what?
[00:42:25] I'm like, he got a problem with it.
[00:42:27] It was so funny.
[00:42:28] Because I was I was the same.
[00:42:30] I first thought, like, oh, yeah, people been doing it in their whole town.
[00:42:33] And then James looked at me was like, no,
[00:42:35] it was only Drake.
[00:42:37] I was like, what about my.
[00:42:39] Yeah.
[00:42:39] And then I was like, oh, like, he was like, I just got out of the list.
[00:42:43] It's like, no, they people normally don't do it in their own town.
[00:42:47] When we get this thought,
[00:42:48] Yeah.
[00:42:49] So when that's just the time it was just in Tiber Lake.
[00:42:52] Oh, and he did it for us.
[00:42:54] Oh, it's not just a straight.
[00:42:55] That's the first one I was in.
[00:42:57] That's the first one I was in.
[00:42:59] We're not doing it.
[00:43:01] We're not doing it.
[00:43:01] We're not doing it.
[00:43:02] That's how we got it.
[00:43:04] The most famous.
[00:43:07] We've all of all time and I was right there.
[00:43:09] Yeah, that's it.
[00:43:10] Popped out.
[00:43:11] That's it.
[00:43:11] There it is.
[00:43:12] All right.
[00:43:13] Now we've talked about the football.
[00:43:15] We've talked about some of these.
[00:43:17] I mean, films and movies and things like that.
[00:43:20] Hum.
[00:43:21] We have to talk about probably the biggest headline of the week.
[00:43:25] Pete.
[00:43:25] He did he has been arrested, Marty.
[00:43:30] Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:43:32] The feds arrested him on like sex trafficking.
[00:43:36] Oh, my god, it's like I think.
[00:43:39] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:43:44] Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:43:44] It's bad and not only that, but they proposed a 50 million dollar bail
[00:43:51] to the point where he paid off 18 million dollars on his house.
[00:43:57] To put his house up for collateral.
[00:43:59] His house in Miami, which is worth $48 million.
[00:44:02] He surrendered his passport and his whole family literally his whole entire family
[00:44:08] his adult sons.
[00:44:10] I think they got the little baby girls to they all co-signed his bail.
[00:44:15] They all simmered into their passports.
[00:44:17] Everything on one of them.
[00:44:19] And the judge still denied that bail.
[00:44:22] And he has to sit as in a cell like they asked for 50 million dollar bond.
[00:44:28] I have never heard of a 50 million dollar bond.
[00:44:32] And then for the judge to be like, no.
[00:44:34] Yeah, you'll be like, no, your money is no good here.
[00:44:37] Your money is no good here.
[00:44:39] Rocks are like, that's the judge's like, go rock in that cell.
[00:44:42] Like that's crazy.
[00:44:44] The state don't even want your money.
[00:44:46] They say they're way from these crimes.
[00:44:48] They was watching TV shows like, oh, he didn't think anything coming home.
[00:44:52] Yeah, they saw they saw the footage.
[00:44:54] I thought this man had fled Jason.
[00:44:57] How did they catch him?
[00:44:58] Because I thought he pulled a Russell Simmons and was out of here a long time ago.
[00:45:01] Why was he just sitting there waiting to be arrested?
[00:45:03] He knew this was coming.
[00:45:05] He was the he was getting his last who right.
[00:45:07] That was his last when he knew he had tons of things.
[00:45:10] He was just kicking it one last time before he had tons of things.
[00:45:14] Like what I said, I heard you can't go on going in a row and just kind of hard for
[00:45:17] In real.
[00:45:18] Look at Russell.
[00:45:19] I mean, Russell.
[00:45:21] I don't think they really want Russell Simmons.
[00:45:24] They want him.
[00:45:25] He he because he's been here.
[00:45:27] He comes here.
[00:45:28] He comes here.
[00:45:29] He comes here.
[00:45:29] They don't want them man.
[00:45:31] Now I'm on him for real.
[00:45:33] No, I think they're I think they're lolling him into a false sense of security and then they're
[00:45:37] going to catch a bitch.
[00:45:39] What do they go?
[00:45:39] Yeah, it's like a way he shows the run house and they just don't kick in the dough.
[00:45:43] No, no, you can't you can't get him.
[00:45:44] You can't get him.
[00:45:45] You can't get him.
[00:45:45] You know, he you know how much live in this this man has done in between.
[00:45:49] It's not given them.
[00:45:50] They're getting them catching.
[00:45:51] You got to get him.
[00:45:53] Get him in the cell.
[00:45:56] So for what I understand, did he was like he they said he was just like strolling around
[00:46:01] Harlem like they were like that dude knew he won't see in the light of day.
[00:46:06] But he like he did all of that in preparation like he surrendered his passports like back
[00:46:10] in April.
[00:46:11] He he he did all this stuff with his house like in June.
[00:46:15] And so he was trying to look good.
[00:46:19] So he could qualify for bail.
[00:46:21] So he it's just funny like he kind of did everything you're kind of you should do
[00:46:26] if you're if you're if you want bail, but they're like no, your crimes are too
[00:46:30] heinous for us to let you out.
[00:46:33] Like that's that's absurd to think about.
[00:46:37] Mm-hmm.
[00:46:37] You can just hear that law and order like doom doom in the room.
[00:46:40] Yeah, it's it's he on the way out.
[00:46:43] And as are you surprised by any of the allegations and any of the the news that is coming
[00:46:48] out about P. Did he since all of this starts to transpire.
[00:46:51] I mean, I feel like we were getting bread crumbs for a while.
[00:46:55] So we're kind of just waiting waiting until the chips fail.
[00:46:59] It can't Williams told us at the beginning of the year.
[00:47:02] Oh, God.
[00:47:04] I mean, not.
[00:47:06] Yeah, I'm a part of your god.
[00:47:07] Tell no.
[00:47:09] I mean, God.
[00:47:10] To tell us.
[00:47:11] Cat Williams pretty much let us know, but it was I.
[00:47:14] I knew something was going to happen soon as he put a settlement on that law suit from
[00:47:19] Passee within 24 hours.
[00:47:21] Yeah, because that was a lot of money and that was really fast.
[00:47:23] And I was just like, but that was last year too.
[00:47:25] So let's not really give cat too much.
[00:47:28] Oh, yes.
[00:47:30] Well, not.
[00:47:31] I think the right amount of wall.
[00:47:32] I mean, it was he had mentioned it in the Shanna interview.
[00:47:36] So yeah, he was like, you see all this stuff pop up.
[00:47:38] So I mean, seeing it actually unfold and now everybody's coming out with different lawsuits
[00:47:43] and then body guards talking about he dropping this audio clip of.
[00:47:48] Dick's Mac involves and all that other stuff is yeah, it was it was kind of wild.
[00:47:53] Timeline has been kind of wild today.
[00:47:55] They found 1000 bottles of baby oil and lube at this man's home.
[00:48:02] Jason Williams 1000 bottles of baby.
[00:48:05] What?
[00:48:07] The way I imagined it is like, you know how he used to what was it like, so rock.
[00:48:12] Yeah, he has like a baby oil seller.
[00:48:14] You know, he walks in and he's like, hey, like, testing all my life.
[00:48:19] All right.
[00:48:20] Yeah, that's a good year.
[00:48:21] You know, because that why, because how?
[00:48:23] Because you lost all that.
[00:48:26] Yeah, did you ask how would you utilize it?
[00:48:28] I would do that.
[00:48:28] I was about to, how would you do that?
[00:48:31] I would put my under the bed.
[00:48:34] Simon the shower.
[00:48:36] It's going to be an almost.
[00:48:38] I mean, so we're going to be a business with a plan around this bitch.
[00:48:40] We have to put in every hole.
[00:48:43] That's what did he say?
[00:48:45] Oh, no.
[00:48:46] Did you do it?
[00:48:48] The department will have a bouncy house and spread the bag on baby oil.
[00:48:52] Oh, my god.
[00:48:55] If you buy them, you gotta use it.
[00:48:57] You got to use it.
[00:48:58] They can then we imagine it's following that.
[00:49:00] Yeah, well, it's nasty.
[00:49:03] Mario, you brought up the reports.
[00:49:07] A thousand bottles of baby oil.
[00:49:08] A lot's other things.
[00:49:09] I mean, I think they listed at least seven different types of drugs.
[00:49:12] Oh, yeah.
[00:49:13] Including that pink powder that they think is some form of the X to C or something.
[00:49:19] I think that powder is made in.
[00:49:21] And yeah, I think those men mentioned in Cassies and Cassie's case, I believe.
[00:49:28] And the case with the male, his male employee.
[00:49:34] As oh, yes, I remember.
[00:49:36] Yeah, I can't.
[00:49:37] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:49:38] The fact that it's a thousand, I'm so mad because like at Howard's homecoming,
[00:49:42] we had a notorious party called a thousand bottles and now I'm never going to be able to think about that.
[00:49:48] I had all that baby oil.
[00:49:49] How were I knew it?
[00:49:50] It was me not baby oil is a thousand bottles of liquor.
[00:49:54] And they did go to that school.
[00:49:57] That's where he got the idea.
[00:49:59] They even knew it.
[00:49:59] A thousand bottles is day one.
[00:50:02] They have not just something.
[00:50:03] You want to graduate from our school.
[00:50:06] But he went there though.
[00:50:07] We're not giving him a new.
[00:50:08] We have given his money back.
[00:50:13] Do not associate with him.
[00:50:17] We are.
[00:50:18] That's it.
[00:50:19] It's it's gotten weird.
[00:50:20] It has a pdd is going to jail.
[00:50:22] I have said this before on different by cas.
[00:50:24] I don't know if I've ever said it on this podcast.
[00:50:26] If pdd has one enemy, it's me.
[00:50:27] I've always said this man was a villain.
[00:50:29] I've been saying this my whole life.
[00:50:30] Marry's not because she knows.
[00:50:32] I've always prior to cas he coming on saying the stuff.
[00:50:35] I have been just because if you track the careers of the people who have worked for bad boys.
[00:50:40] Every time it's like this man takes their careers into their own, in to his hands.
[00:50:44] And then he just let's did just like,
[00:50:47] physical way and then they all end up in like some really kind of off situations where they need to get like super religious or die or disappear up the face of their
[00:50:56] work.
[00:50:57] I'm talking biggie, Craig Mac.
[00:50:59] Like these people just like, oh, black rob.
[00:51:03] And then you got the stuff to happen with shine.
[00:51:05] Mason became a pastor.
[00:51:06] I think twice and now he's on a pastor no more.
[00:51:08] Yeah.
[00:51:09] Where is total?
[00:51:10] Where is one 12?
[00:51:12] Where the poor faith Evans.
[00:51:13] She just poor faith Evans.
[00:51:15] You name it.
[00:51:16] They careers came and went so quickly or you almost never heard anything.
[00:51:20] I mean, we've mentioned casse.
[00:51:22] I can name two casse songs.
[00:51:25] And casse was on that record label for 10 years, you know, like that man just was like, I'm sorry,
[00:51:33] casse was on that record label from 2006 to 2021.
[00:51:36] So up until three years ago and we don't have nothing to show for.
[00:51:41] Did he has been a criminal at least in business for very long time.
[00:51:44] Nobody has anything positive to say about them.
[00:51:47] And I'm honestly concerned about what might happen when people start snitching because now you
[00:51:51] start putting people in the stands.
[00:51:54] I'm trying to see what Kareisha about to say, Jess.
[00:51:57] I mean, I'm curious about what other names are going to drop because a lot of people are saying,
[00:52:01] because when usher was younger, he stayed with did to get his career just and beaver as well.
[00:52:07] So I'm just like,
[00:52:09] what's it for?
[00:52:10] If you want to know what happened to usher,
[00:52:14] it's in his, um,
[00:52:17] behind the music, it's that that's been like,
[00:52:21] it's been an open secret about what happened to usher when he was staying with diddy.
[00:52:27] Like, I forget where I heard it, but yeah, usher was exposed to all of these sex parties at 13.
[00:52:34] So it's,
[00:52:35] it is not a secret at all.
[00:52:41] And I mean,
[00:52:42] I don't know if we're going to hear any bigger names because honestly,
[00:52:46] I agree with the end.
[00:52:48] I think diddy's the top of the food chain personally.
[00:52:51] I think he is the main one driving all of the enterprise.
[00:52:59] yes, who's roped into it as in who was partaking?
[00:53:04] Yeah, we'll see they have a minute and so we'll see what happens with that.
[00:53:12] In a sense of like, like, I hope I want it,
[00:53:16] I hope this goes to trial.
[00:53:17] You know, I really hope it goes to trial.
[00:53:20] So so we do figure out what they'll feel like send of everything.
[00:53:24] And it's but yeah, you know,
[00:53:26] sometimes these cases don't, so,
[00:53:30] so it,
[00:53:31] and Karisha,
[00:53:33] I don't know man.
[00:53:36] She's she better delete some stuff because
[00:53:40] she chose a wrong time to hop on this great betraying.
[00:53:42] Like this was the wrong time.
[00:53:43] Like you copped in there.
[00:53:44] You should have been here a long time ago.
[00:53:46] You could have gotten in and out and been about your way, you know,
[00:53:50] awful.
[00:53:50] People in Malaysia and me can understand did he's never getting out of jail?
[00:53:54] They might just shoot them.
[00:53:55] You know, like,
[00:53:56] these people are not smart enough to keep this man.
[00:53:57] See, exactly.
[00:53:59] Karisha and is that the other girl, like,
[00:54:02] if you go back and look at Karisha and that other girls'
[00:54:06] feud, it's starting to, it looks real funny in the light now.
[00:54:09] So like,
[00:54:11] and then of course,
[00:54:11] make new.
[00:54:12] They definitely make make.
[00:54:14] He the first one they're going to because he's just going to start running his mouth.
[00:54:18] That poor man is not going to make it out of this unscathed
[00:54:21] unless he throw Didi under the bus.
[00:54:22] And so I can see this either being stretched out for a very long time,
[00:54:25] like the young thug trial,
[00:54:26] which doesn't make any sense for this to still be going on.
[00:54:29] That man has been in jail for three years and they have not,
[00:54:32] he is not had a trial.
[00:54:33] Like he has not been convicted of anything.
[00:54:34] It's just been in jail.
[00:54:35] Really?
[00:54:37] It's been two-ish years at this point.
[00:54:39] Yeah, over two.
[00:54:41] And he just didn't in there.
[00:54:42] It ain't been convicted of nothing.
[00:54:43] You know what I'm saying?
[00:54:44] So that kind of stuff could happen and I can bear
[00:54:46] when they trials been a first.
[00:54:48] It's been a first.
[00:54:49] Yeah, or now you're in there playing games and rap lyrics.
[00:54:52] So hopefully they handle the Didi situation a little bit better.
[00:54:56] But to me,
[00:54:58] I think that wraps out all the big news this week.
[00:55:00] Thank y'all for listening to the recap of all
[00:55:03] the media and stuff that came across my desk this week.
[00:55:06] If you feel like you have something that you want to talk about in the future,
[00:55:09] you can email it to us or add us on Twitter at recap.
[00:55:12] Or you can email us as recap at do-no.com.
[00:55:15] It's a hey, I saw this thing.
[00:55:17] Y'all should talk about it and we'll bring it up
[00:55:19] and talk about the weeks event as we recap those things.
[00:55:22] Before we get into our movie of the week.
[00:55:27] And now we have a movie of the week.
[00:55:28] Marry.
[00:55:29] The number two movie on Netflix is Rebel Ridge.
[00:55:33] And the funny story behind us talking about Rebel Ridge is that
[00:55:37] originally we really weren't going to talk about it.
[00:55:39] We were like, okay, you know whatever.
[00:55:40] You know, we got other things that come in and go.
[00:55:43] And the time is not right.
[00:55:45] The Marry said, well, I think we got to talk about it.
[00:55:47] We got to talk about it.
[00:55:48] So we were talking through,
[00:55:49] and Marry's husband James said,
[00:55:51] we all talked about how the bad stuff.
[00:55:53] So, I mean, you would think you would talk about it.
[00:55:55] Good movie.
[00:55:56] It's up like damn.
[00:55:57] He makes a good point.
[00:55:59] So, I reached out to jazz.
[00:56:00] And we were able to line this up.
[00:56:03] Marry.
[00:56:04] Was it?
[00:56:06] Yeah.
[00:56:07] Yeah.
[00:56:08] I mean, we got shamed into doing this podcast,
[00:56:11] make you know, mistake.
[00:56:12] But like it's his fault.
[00:56:14] Now he's dealing with a formal told by himself.
[00:56:17] But like, like does this count as a black movie?
[00:56:23] I think so.
[00:56:23] White wink after.
[00:56:24] Wait a minute.
[00:56:25] It has got a black kind of like a like savior.
[00:56:30] The.
[00:56:33] And the black a black writer.
[00:56:35] Black directing.
[00:56:37] There's other things that have to be there.
[00:56:39] It doesn't have any of this thing.
[00:56:41] Just one.
[00:56:41] One Negro.
[00:56:43] It is one guy.
[00:56:45] Yeah.
[00:56:45] But it was good.
[00:56:46] I liked it.
[00:56:47] I mean, I personally liked it.
[00:56:49] Now where there's some plot holes.
[00:56:51] Yes.
[00:56:52] What like do you think a plot hole would work?
[00:56:55] Why do you keep going back to that town?
[00:56:57] Like what's that white girl?
[00:56:58] Yeah.
[00:56:59] White.
[00:57:00] She caught him.
[00:57:01] I mean, he he because it was for him.
[00:57:03] It was about to it was it was it was fake for him.
[00:57:07] So he felt this like and then he lost his cousin behind it.
[00:57:11] And like it was he like he said,
[00:57:12] she should have looked.
[00:57:13] But then you know, I just I was just glad it
[00:57:16] won the black the black one and say,
[00:57:17] you're like, don't say it away.
[00:57:19] One.
[00:57:20] Okay.
[00:57:21] Oh.
[00:57:23] So well, okay,
[00:57:25] maybe it wasn't plot holes.
[00:57:26] But it felt like for different movies.
[00:57:28] You can't tell me they didn't feel like for different movies.
[00:57:31] Like the opening and stuff.
[00:57:33] I like the opening and stuff was giving like Jordan pill,
[00:57:37] like immediately just piss you off.
[00:57:39] Yeah.
[00:57:39] Yeah.
[00:57:40] The traffic stop.
[00:57:42] Then I'm like, wait, he's fighting these cops.
[00:57:45] He's cousin's dead.
[00:57:47] Now he now he he left and come back to it was a lot jazz.
[00:57:52] Am I?
[00:57:52] Am I?
[00:57:53] No, yeah.
[00:57:54] Nope.
[00:57:54] I'm with you because I think it may be because the movie
[00:57:58] span over at least a week.
[00:58:01] So you had a lot of days pass through,
[00:58:04] it did, it did.
[00:58:06] Yeah.
[00:58:06] Because you saw him.
[00:58:07] It was a good.
[00:58:09] You saw him sleeping outside.
[00:58:11] Most of his day camping stayed camping.
[00:58:13] He was able to fish using his hand.
[00:58:19] I don't know if he's got that.
[00:58:21] That's a good one.
[00:58:22] Did I say I'll be fishing on my hands, though?
[00:58:26] We go back to our first episode of the year.
[00:58:29] I remember what it was, but hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
[00:58:32] there's Jayce to say he could bear fish.
[00:58:34] I can't.
[00:58:35] You can't bear fish.
[00:58:37] I can't.
[00:58:38] I can't.
[00:58:41] The tearing was out there fishing, like cooking and everything.
[00:58:44] And I'm like, why didn't you just stay at some or house?
[00:58:46] Because I think she would have let you stay there.
[00:58:49] Especially because she was trying to get you a number.
[00:58:51] He was like, no, I'm good.
[00:58:52] I say, he's right, black man.
[00:58:54] That's what he did to about the end.
[00:58:56] He never gave it to about the end.
[00:58:58] Jazz, I'm surprised you kept up with the plot of the movie because I saw you doing it about it.
[00:59:02] But you never once said anything about the movie.
[00:59:04] This is a lot of pictures of this shirtless, light skin gentleman.
[00:59:07] Oh, my, yes.
[00:59:08] What's the plot?
[00:59:10] What was the plot?
[00:59:11] That exactly was the plot.
[00:59:13] Because Jayle and her shes got engaged.
[00:59:15] So I support like the loves.
[00:59:16] Now I have to fill in that less space.
[00:59:20] Shout out to the bros.
[00:59:21] And who is English?
[00:59:24] Right.
[00:59:24] By the way, he's British.
[00:59:26] Chappelle, you remember we were talking about British actors doing more American movies?
[00:59:31] Yeah.
[00:59:31] Look, I'm not more power to.
[00:59:34] We support everybody black who deserves to be supported in the black.
[00:59:37] They support black people, right?
[00:59:38] They how ever.
[00:59:39] However, these brids they will switch that accent up and come still in our jobs.
[00:59:44] Murray, like, I'm all saying, look, they, I'm not looking again.
[00:59:49] I don't even know these brids saying eating dogs and cats and pets and stuff like that.
[00:59:52] We, hey, we're not going to talk to Joe.
[00:59:55] Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe.
[00:59:56] Now if I see the middle of the list, I know who to blame because I'm just like,
[01:00:00] who I'm like, so individuals.
[01:00:02] I'm just joking.
[01:00:03] No, he didn't really good.
[01:00:04] First of all, I'd never seen Airbnb or anything else.
[01:00:07] I think he was in the underground railroad, but I didn't watch him.
[01:00:09] He was an old as well.
[01:00:12] Yes.
[01:00:13] That's definitely his bad.
[01:00:14] And him nice, shame along.
[01:00:16] Just can't do anyway.
[01:00:17] He need his ass, whoop.
[01:00:19] But, you know, he's up to make a consent, uh, air Pierre.
[01:00:23] And so again, switch that accent up, came in the, in the gate.
[01:00:26] And I think he didn't really good job.
[01:00:27] I thought it was a very interesting choice though for the leading character to be
[01:00:31] so anti-blood shit.
[01:00:33] They like his super powers that he can disarm people.
[01:00:35] Like, okay, if Batman was the most black, yeah, that's the point.
[01:00:41] That's the point.
[01:00:42] That's the point.
[01:00:43] Batman, shoot people.
[01:00:45] Batman, shoot people.
[01:00:46] And shoot somebody.
[01:00:48] This man was unloading the bulletin and hand them to the cops.
[01:00:51] Oh, my god, man has a gun.
[01:00:53] I was like, killed him.
[01:00:56] Yeah, he's a human.
[01:00:58] That's what made it.
[01:00:59] That's what made it interesting for me too.
[01:01:01] The person that can go to the limit and not go all the way.
[01:01:06] Just mentioned that I'm with restraint.
[01:01:07] He really had in that situation.
[01:01:10] And you know, actually was going to, well, I think John Boyle.
[01:01:13] Yeah, so I'm just gonna say that.
[01:01:15] Yeah, what another breath of one.
[01:01:18] John Boyle.
[01:01:20] Black American accent.
[01:01:24] The white writer and director was not looking for an American black man.
[01:01:29] But he's right.
[01:01:30] Because there was plenty of niggas with that.
[01:01:31] Let me see.
[01:01:32] So so so so they said John Boyle got filmed half of this movie.
[01:01:38] And then just walked off set and never came back.
[01:01:42] I don't know what that is.
[01:01:43] I don't know how to do that is.
[01:01:45] I love that if that's true, but I don't know how to do that.
[01:01:48] I think they are like, like in the middle of trying to like really assassinate John Boyle's character.
[01:01:56] If they don't want to, you don't care why he loves it.
[01:01:58] He was like the, they've been in that lead John Boyle or John Boyle alone.
[01:02:03] But yeah, it was supposed to be him.
[01:02:05] And you know, love him down.
[01:02:07] But I think and Pierre did an amazing job in this role.
[01:02:12] He just looked so cool disarm in the people.
[01:02:16] I completely agree with Jason, like that was the highlight to me.
[01:02:20] Like I just wanted to see what these crazy things he's going to do.
[01:02:23] And he did like most of those stunts himself.
[01:02:26] I believe you saw him say as well.
[01:02:29] He has that shit with the blue background.
[01:02:31] Yeah, they were talking about that.
[01:02:33] Oh, I mean, that's another thing that I don't think John Boyle, I mean,
[01:02:35] I know he filmed half the movie, but I don't think they were too mad.
[01:02:38] Let them can leave.
[01:02:39] You know, like, all right, well, at least we can bring somebody else in who could actually do what we need them to do.
[01:02:42] Because I mean, you came for the job figure to do all this.
[01:02:45] So we saw this do do.
[01:02:47] Uh, I was just saying, I like that.
[01:02:49] I think so.
[01:02:50] I think I think he never seen John Boyle anything like this.
[01:02:53] So that why would I?
[01:02:54] He was like, so he would hide it.
[01:02:56] And they come on time when he was going his own story.
[01:02:59] What you mean?
[01:03:00] He was disarming people and he was a kid.
[01:03:03] He was like, I can't.
[01:03:04] No, he was saying like, that's not the same is what I'm saying.
[01:03:07] This is a different set of skills, Jason.
[01:03:10] I'm John Boyle.
[01:03:12] Oh, you know, I'm joking.
[01:03:15] But you know, I just thought they like, I thought this was a good role for this man
[01:03:18] uh, for my introduction.
[01:03:20] Here, I thought like, okay, this is dope.
[01:03:22] Like Marty said, he's doing a lot of his own stats.
[01:03:25] What did you think about the premise of the movie that this man has now been forced to
[01:03:31] almost dismantle a police department and what looks like a sundown town.
[01:03:37] And that's it.
[01:03:38] They just been picking on him system.
[01:03:39] Moment he walked in the town and eventually, yeah, I think it is revenge.
[01:03:41] That's pretty much the movie.
[01:03:45] And like Roy, since the office, so an even started off,
[01:03:49] and he knocked like my guy off the bike.
[01:03:51] I don't like what the fuck happened.
[01:03:53] And then it was, and I guess for me, it was more he didn't get mad.
[01:03:56] He didn't get mad enough in my opinion and not
[01:04:00] because all the time he was, he still was respectful.
[01:04:03] It's not point that it's not that I can still be respectful, but you're going to feel what I'm saying.
[01:04:06] Like you're not going to keep on just just bullying me, bullying me, I hear.
[01:04:10] You got out of these, these, this pet throw moves and your arsenal,
[01:04:13] then they can go ahead, pull them out.
[01:04:15] They use them.
[01:04:16] Now, his skill is de-escalation jazz.
[01:04:19] You know, his thing is like, I'm not going to let it get to the point where I got it's
[01:04:22] not crazy to you. He was calling people, sir.
[01:04:24] He was doing all things that everybody tells you to do.
[01:04:25] Like if you're going to survive a police interaction, if they, if the police ever knocked you off a bike
[01:04:29] and still all your money, here's what you got to do.
[01:04:31] You've got to say, yes, sir, no, sir, you keep your hands on the steering wheel, blah, blah, blah.
[01:04:34] Like that was the energy he was giving the entire time when it was effect.
[01:04:36] If it worked.
[01:04:38] Yeah, I mean because they were very aggressive towards him and he was answering all the questions.
[01:04:45] And so it was, I was just like, okay, two racist cops because the other cop was ready.
[01:04:50] He was just like, do you want to get tased? Who says just to that?
[01:04:53] Right. Yeah. But I mean, he was obviously the racist cop through the whole thing.
[01:04:59] The high level racist cop through the whole thing. So every,
[01:05:03] was glad when he got his ass beat.
[01:05:06] Yeah. Like it was really as if somebody put in the prompt and to chat, GPT is like,
[01:05:12] what if a citizen can de-escalate a situation better than the cops with the cops?
[01:05:19] Like, you know, it was like, yeah, the poster of what you should do.
[01:05:26] And they still kept messing with him and he was like, well fine, now I got to just
[01:05:32] loop y'all spot. It was, it was very interesting. But I hated the fact that like, all this happening
[01:05:38] in the cousin like guys, you know, and it's just like, you know, that piece of it just seemed,
[01:05:48] I get it. It was the motivation, but then I wish they would have came back to it of the cops
[01:05:53] or who killed his cousin. Yeah. And that would have made him stay in a town rather than, oh,
[01:05:59] summer call me, they gave us some, they inject her with drugs. If it would have came out that
[01:06:04] police are the ones who killed his cousin and then he had to get his revenge on that. I think
[01:06:08] that would have probably added a more interesting to the story of my opinion,
[01:06:13] that's just to kill the cousin out of nowhere and then telling him, all right, but relax,
[01:06:18] you know, we both made mistakes. It was good people on both sides, but
[01:06:22] go ahead and there are bad. We would then listen to you and you said he would. Yeah, they tried to say
[01:06:30] about money. Yeah, they've been using them. They're dirty tactics to fund the town Jason.
[01:06:36] Yeah, I didn't like, I didn't, but I wouldn't have liked it. Like him coming back to do with it,
[01:06:41] it didn't make sense because he did that. I already given him a money and they had bought him the
[01:06:45] crib by him to truck, they gave him the money. And then as my inscurrence did, and there was nothing
[01:06:51] else than we go back to that town for at that point. Everything was out. Everything was case closed,
[01:06:57] done. He's leaving. So I don't think that what at that point would have been back was the one
[01:07:01] person that was connected to that was holding them down and doing everything that she could
[01:07:05] assist him. And it was her. So him coming back, I'm just glad that they make her a love interest
[01:07:11] outside of it. And they're like, it didn't feel like a time. That's what they were going to do.
[01:07:16] And it's just like, I kept thinking, you have to do this. You know, so you don't have to do this.
[01:07:21] Yeah, you know, like it would have just felt like it was forced because he was just riding his bike
[01:07:25] through town and now you're going to leave with a girlfriend, like, you know, like, I would,
[01:07:29] why? You know, let this man, let this man fight his life for his cousin and move on.
[01:07:33] But, you know, I thought the setup was interesting. You know, you got this town there. The
[01:07:39] cops are so dirty that they are actually using the money that they're taking from innocent people
[01:07:44] having, you know, and using it to buy weapons and to outsource the weapons for money. And
[01:07:50] they're trying to keep their police station from getting shut down and stuff like they can't
[01:07:53] get into no more trouble because they've been dirty for so long. So now they got this whole attempt
[01:07:57] like, okay, we'll put these people in jail for 90 days. So we can erase the footage and all that.
[01:08:04] So it was like the smoking gun for Terrier, the man character was so loud. He could ignore it.
[01:08:10] You know, it was like when he came back to help summer, yeah, he was helping summer. But the idea
[01:08:14] that these people basically get in the way with the fact that his, like, with his, his cousin
[01:08:17] me and did and they've been mistreating him this whole time. And they got this scheme where they
[01:08:28] and they bought him a truck to make sure he would leave town. And they gave him $26,000 back.
[01:08:33] Like it was like, all right, even I would have been like, well, let me see what's going on in here.
[01:08:38] You know, yeah, he's corrupted to is. And it was like, they're like, oh, they were taking the money
[01:08:42] and they're buying stuff with it. But also they were giving it back to the community and stuff like,
[01:08:47] oh my god, we were underfunded. When the hell have we ever met a police department that's
[01:08:54] underfunded, even a rural one. Yeah, well, they got in trouble. That's why I was
[01:08:58] underfunded. They put them sanctions on them finally. I don't believe it. Like, again,
[01:09:04] this is made up. You know, they got to make that up. They, they hardly ever see any
[01:09:09] repercussions when they do stupid shit. And clearly, they didn't learn because they can't continue
[01:09:14] to do stupid shit. Like they're like, oh, we did something bad. We got punished for it and
[01:09:20] make up for it. We need to do worse things. We need to make the cover up bigger, bigger, you
[01:09:28] know what I said? You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube once it's out. You just
[01:09:36] might have you got to deal with your guy. Okay. And so they were trying to make the, they were trying
[01:09:40] to work the situation out. But obviously they have pissed them off to the point of productivity that
[01:09:43] he wasn't coming back. Right. He was going to go in there and shut this thing down. He had too much
[01:09:47] information. And I did like the idea of the movie that, you know, he de-escalated so well that
[01:09:51] I don't think he ever, there was any bloodshed on his part. You know, I think like everybody,
[01:09:56] anything that happened anybody, he's trying to do with a bean bag, uh, gun a couple times. That
[01:10:00] was pretty funny. He takes the guy. Yeah. But yeah, but it was, it was a, it was peaceful for the most
[01:10:07] peaceful as it can be. And then we had, we just, like, this, and you know how many of
[01:10:13] this could you, you, a three hour quiz. Um, we were told that somewhere had an informant on the
[01:10:19] side of the department and, uh, I think that's somebody helping now. The movie is leading us to
[01:10:25] believe that it's the fact that the scene had often on. You think given like, there have been moments
[01:10:30] where things like she should have been harder on them than she was maybe he's supposed to use
[01:10:35] the informant, but thought to his, it's not her. She's not, she's not the informant. The informant
[01:10:42] is actually one of the cops that was then as an initial spot when he got pulled over. The people
[01:10:46] that knocked him off the bike, the other cop, the informant and, um, I'm going right? Was it right?
[01:10:53] Yeah, Roy? Yeah, Roy from now. Yeah, for now, phy's and I'm like, Roy, twist on take that. I definitely
[01:10:59] didn't see that coming. You know, like, uh, you've seen what works to his mark?
[01:11:02] Yeah, yeah. I mean, I wouldn't have guessed he was right. Why would I? This is the wall of
[01:11:10] over, you know, and that he's helping out. So it was good. I liked it. The twist of their
[01:11:18] expecting him in one area. One area, he's like surprised. I'm back over here. Like, I really,
[01:11:25] I did. I enjoyed this movie. I'm not gonna lie. I like, my action movies, uh, they're not really
[01:11:30] much. But I thought this was done differently in such a way that was really interesting, um, and not
[01:11:39] be as boring as just your regular action. Jason, was it good though? It was good, but it was good and
[01:11:47] bored. Uh, yeah. For the first hour, 50 minutes, the last 20, he's not. I thought it was the middle.
[01:11:56] I thought it was the middle 20 minutes. I mean, you see, he's not moving. No, because it's
[01:12:03] this is a, because this is a slower, and I don't, and then like when it comes to stuff like that,
[01:12:07] it's just like we building the tensions to get to the point of what you got to do with it. Because
[01:12:12] it's because it was like, well, at this point, he got to do it. Well, though, he asked you
[01:12:16] don't you guys? I'm, you're buying a bunch of girls looking money, the strip, your name,
[01:12:21] you're getting, I got electric beauty, you know, follow the rules along. You see, okay, yeah, at this point,
[01:12:26] yes, we should have kept pushing them. You out with 30 into the movie, you know, you're then
[01:12:31] putting it in a ran into the, oh, the judge is house, my come on now. Everything up into their
[01:12:36] ran into the judge has it was slow. Everything up into that point, he was doing super slow for me.
[01:12:42] Jazz, I know you like this movie. The way the movie ends though, it kind of just ends. You know,
[01:12:48] like there's no grand finale. There's no big moment, you know, they, they ride off, he gets
[01:12:52] some of the help that she needs. He sits down and he's sitting there thinking, okay, what's next?
[01:12:56] Could you see a sequel for a rebel ridge? I don't know. No, I definitely hope they don't do that.
[01:13:05] You don't need to stick with to this because I mean, it's like what's the point. He's going to be
[01:13:10] on his bike again. It's the miles going around him off the road since his tree just got got bullet holes
[01:13:14] in there. There's a lot left open. You always want to give a sequel to movies at
[01:13:21] in the same way. I didn't say, I didn't say, I didn't say, I didn't say, I didn't. But it seemed like he
[01:13:25] do be like, he don't. I just, I just really do like, I just know there's a lot that can be done.
[01:13:32] What does he call this movie? He cuts cover and information is easy to do. That's a easy,
[01:13:38] sweet, easy, easy sequel. He can make it through around the country.
[01:13:40] Yeah. He can start killing. Like, he's like, oh, my mind. You can do it.
[01:13:46] Yeah, it don't want to start killing. What do you see? He doesn't know in. Like, he has a shootout
[01:13:52] with the police. When the police are literally shooting at him and he's just going around
[01:13:56] disarming them. But then it's like a like a cathartic moment because they're trying to get away.
[01:14:02] But they're being chased down by the whole squad led by you didn't even talk about the crazy
[01:14:08] lieutenant major, whoever the chief. There we go. I didn't know what the rank was. You
[01:14:14] haven't gone. I know played by John Johnson who literally was just like, I mean, he played this
[01:14:21] role too good. I'm like, where is your hood, sir? He can't do it. So I knew. At the moment,
[01:14:26] they said he was from Kansas. That's it. Okay. That's all I need to know. Too good. And so it like
[01:14:31] it's cathartic. Because John Johnson is trying to get his whole station to take out, you know,
[01:14:38] summer, summer and the informant and the black lady does come through because her and the
[01:14:45] rest of the squad take out the chief. They're like, okay. Yeah, that is the other choice. They're like,
[01:14:50] okay, we can't do this anymore. He's too corrupt for us. Like, he's going to fall. You know?
[01:14:56] Yeah, they take him out. Yeah. And then they're able to write off into the sunset. I
[01:15:03] pay it was something I had never seen before. Yeah. Well, the reason I said not an ending because you're
[01:15:08] right. They kind of write off into the sunset. But they really don't. He stops and let's her out at
[01:15:13] the hospital. Like, all right, here you go. And then he just sits there. We don't find out like,
[01:15:16] let's try to get where he's going. Is he have another, we're with like, because I mean,
[01:15:20] remember his whole thing was me and my cousin about to go start a new life. We're about to get this
[01:15:24] drunk. We're about to everybody, truck full of bullet holes, cousin's dead. What's next? And so
[01:15:28] I feel like if you want it to jazz, this could be our next big action star. I know you want to see
[01:15:33] this man shirt listen again. Yeah. Of course. Absolutely. I think he wants this talented. If he
[01:15:41] was a hija, this will be the rock. And honestly, it wouldn't be as fun if it was the rock. No,
[01:15:51] I don't want to think about that. The seriousness that air was able to bring to this role,
[01:15:58] because like the same between him and the sheriff. And he was just like breaking down his
[01:16:06] skills. And so I was just like the energy between them. I was like, who? I know he just want to
[01:16:14] choke him out. I'm like, that was a really good scene of the ancient building. Yeah. Because like
[01:16:20] all they're out there talking, the two minions are in the like they're like Google Mac.
[01:16:25] Why? What? What? He was trying to go out there like chief. He's some distance.
[01:16:33] And then when he grabbed his gun, he was like, oh, I said yes, black man. But yes, let him be
[01:16:41] the next big action star. I would love to see him as so many different projects. Because I think
[01:16:45] a play a good action hero like something while we saw here. But then also a great villain.
[01:16:51] Because he gives me scar vibes. I know you should say that. I need to say that.
[01:16:57] It's a great. Is he the voice to the new movie that's coming out? Jason's favorite voice.
[01:17:04] He's going to be move faster in the new voice of movie. Jason, I know you line it up to go see
[01:17:13] I'm not actually, no.
[01:17:16] Right line up because he line king, no power. No, it's not the line king. It's move faster.
[01:17:21] Move faster. Why would I do that? I mean, it didn't change. It didn't change. But they didn't change because
[01:17:27] that's because it's because Beyonce and Blue Ivy is going to be in it. Yeah. Don't let them in.
[01:17:32] Go support. They are. That was in the first line. Would I lie? Right. Well, look at that.
[01:17:36] They, because they come, they are they down the line. Well, they be about to be in this.
[01:17:40] Is that you need to know? They're not the same people. Now the one was definitely around. Blue
[01:17:45] Ivy probably. I mean, Blue Ivy probably. I mean, Blue Ivy. No way. No way. No, not all of
[01:17:49] the ladies. Y'all be super, right? Yes. Oh, she's the party. Well, why would she be a
[01:17:55] more fossil? Because from what I understand, it's going to be like a sequel and a prequel.
[01:18:02] Like it's a last next flash forward situation. Yeah. We took the past.
[01:18:06] Well, we move in the plot along. You know, I'm saying anything.
[01:18:11] Yeah. I say it. Jason, Jason, I'll be there. Jason Wow. Yeah. I'm sure I don't have
[01:18:17] card. Like I think it's going to be like loosely based on the the second movie. I think
[01:18:24] yeah, Blue Ivy plays Kiarra. Kiarra. Okay. So yeah, everybody this one. Symba and Nala's daughter
[01:18:32] from Lion King 2. And Lion King 2 is my shit. Oh, yes.
[01:18:43] To it. Who fossil coming? So I'm probably more projects from Aaron Pierre coming
[01:18:50] so hopefully we'll see. And a lot more movies and TV and other, you know, Black Media talk
[01:18:58] in the next coming weeks obviously. But until then, Jazz, Jason, it's been great
[01:19:05] having y'all. Thanks for coming. Thank you so much for having us. We always have a good time.
[01:19:12] We wasn't against each other on this episode. I'm Black because last time I mean,
[01:19:15] you was blind. Yeah. Oh, oh, the two of you. Okay. I was like, yeah, definitely.
[01:19:20] Don't say yes. Jason, thank you for being here as well.
[01:19:25] I know I appreciate you. I have a nice menu. Marry. Yeah, definitely got to do this again.
[01:19:31] Yes, anytime.
[01:19:34] Marry, you don't know this but they had an insecure panel without us.
[01:19:37] I thought I heard. Yeah, I know.
[01:19:39] I didn't know what I was going to love.
[01:19:41] What did you not? It was so far of a place. It was supposed to be the four of us, but you
[01:19:51] fit. Yeah, that's crazy. Jason, okay. EAT.
[01:20:01] That was your college.
[01:20:05] All that to say, thank y'all again. It's been great. Tell us, please, and the listeners
[01:20:10] again where they can find you on what y'all have going on.
[01:20:14] Yes, we are the was a good no podcast. I asked about movies and TV shows. You drop every Tuesday.
[01:20:21] Of course, you can find this on Instagram, Twitter, you can find a podcast.
[01:20:27] So wherever you may stream or listen to podcasts, you can also get visuals on our YouTube page
[01:20:33] again, the was a good no podcast. You see me, you see jazz is not is not our main
[01:20:39] to find us. We drop every Tuesday. I think we dropped today. Missed Tuesday, we dropped the
[01:20:44] I did. I'm the 24 Crove review trash next week. We got beautiful next week as a
[01:20:52] beat of Jews next week as a beat of Jews or Skelleys. I fucked up somewhere in the 10 and so
[01:20:59] why are them going to come out next week? You don't matter what it is. No, the watchers. I'm
[01:21:03] what I'm tripping. We're doing a double feature. We talking about the watchers and trap.
[01:21:07] That's in two or three weeks. I'm fucking about the week.
[01:21:09] Six different movies. Yes, okay. So next week we're doing a double feature movie. We're doing
[01:21:16] trap and the watchers. It's an emni-chemoline and his daughters. We're talking about their
[01:21:21] movies, comparing them and saying, was it good though in the end of we don't find out how we feel
[01:21:28] about love that? Yes. We'll have to have y'all back on the kickback for a spooky season because
[01:21:34] I'm outlier here. All y'all are weird and y'all like scary stuff. That's not, you know,
[01:21:40] I'll suffer through it but didn't make my bag. I know y'all like to talk about the scary movies
[01:21:44] and so I told him it'd be great. It's my belly. So Mar, you look at you like horror movies?
[01:21:50] Yeah, horror movies and comedies are my top two genres. What's the last horror movie you saw?
[01:21:58] I'm halfway through trap. I have two kids so the only movies I have been seeing in theaters
[01:22:04] are despicable me Mario movie stuff like that. So yeah, so we we watched, yeah, we're halfway through
[01:22:13] trap. We watched, oh, oh it's right there. Vampire, vampire? Not Abigail. Abigail? Abigail?
[01:22:25] Valorant vampire? The ball of Reena vampire? We watched that and then we watched the deliverance.
[01:22:34] That count horror. That counts as horror movies. You saw you do this?
[01:22:37] And I know. We got great content out of it. Good content.
[01:22:45] What's your favorite scary movie?
[01:22:49] Yeah, because I believe these two, these are the screaming thusiest on the panel.
[01:22:54] I believe if I'm not mistaken. Right? This is scream. Screen.
[01:22:59] No. So my favorite scary movie of all time. I think is a pretty deep cut.
[01:23:05] It's called 13 ghosts. That's my shit. That's my shit. That's my shit.
[01:23:12] I don't know. It's like, there's a lot of stuff.
[01:23:14] No, no, no, no, that movie. I love that movie. I like that movie. I think I like the DVD version.
[01:23:26] I have the DVD version going up. So I had all the the back stories of all the 13 ghosts.
[01:23:31] And I just that was my favorite part of it. It was they built. They there's actually war
[01:23:36] built around each ghost. And I remember me and my brother would stay up in watching those
[01:23:43] stories and scare the scare ourselves. Those stories were like scarier than the movie kind of.
[01:23:48] So, but I love that the lore of it all and what world build building. So.
[01:23:55] That's okay. We'll have to have y'all back. So we can talk about all this booky stuff.
[01:23:59] Mari, what do you have going on and where can people find you?
[01:24:03] Well, me and Sarah Caring have been doing true crime two days over on our JP for crime scene podcast.

[01:24:41] to Big Brother right now. So just go there and you'll know whenever I'm doing that.
[01:24:47] That's it for me, Shepel. What about you?

[01:24:56] the media of the week. We're going to try that for a little while. See if that format works.

[01:25:04] Shows Netflix movies, whatever's popping on Netflix. And I think in two weeks, Mari, you'll
[01:25:09] be joining me on nothing but Netflix to talk about the vizvick man documentary.
[01:25:13] I believe we'll be talking about it's a six-partner, Dr. series.
[01:25:17] We're going to be bringing in our wrestling expert here, Mari and her toes.
[01:25:21] To come on and talk to us about that. That should be a good time.
[01:25:26] And then, you know, I was at the big brother covers that I'm also doing on RHAP and we're wrapping
[01:25:31] up this season of Below Deck Med on our Bravo coverage over there on RHAP. So a lot coming
[01:25:37] your way soon, but you keep up with all of that and more about following onto it at recapkey back.

[01:25:46] and here on YouTube, YouTube.com slash at recapkey back to keep up with all of the stuff we have
[01:25:50] going here so you don't miss anything at all. But that's about it for Jazz, for Jason, for Mari
[01:25:57] and for myself. You ain't gotta go home, but you definitely gotta get to hell about it here. We
[01:26:00] will be back next week with more recapkey back. Until next time, peace!
