[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Hot D the Westeros Kickback here on Recap Kickback.
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm Chappelle and back with you for one last time to talk about season two of House of the Dragon.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: And of course, I cannot talk about this momentous occasion without the Maester of Whispers,
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_03]: the person who keeps this whole podcast on the tracks with all of her knowledge about the books.
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari, it happened. We're here.
[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: It happened. We're here. It's over. This is the last Westeros Kickback.
[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Sad to see it go. Hate to watch it leave.
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this was an ending.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, listen, listen, it's the end for season two.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_03]: But as we know, the show is already coming. It's coming back for season three and it better.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_03]: It better because I think this left a lot of people wanting a bit more.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_03]: But we will talk about that in just a moment.
[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I do want to thank everybody for listening to Recap Kickback and for following our House of the Dragon coverage this entire season.
[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_03]: It has been a blast.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a departure for our normal kind of content here.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't like to talk about TV and movies.
[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_03]: We like to center a lot of black content, but there was some team black, some team green,
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_03]: and a lot of good content here to talk about on House of the Dragon this season.
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So we had to make time.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Brilliant idea from Mari.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_03]: And so now we get to discuss what's coming next.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_03]: But first, thank you all again for subscribing, for listening and for sending your feedback, because Mari, before we get into this,
[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: we do have feedback.
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_03]: So the way this is going to work, as usual, is that we'll talk about our feedback.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll get into the recap of the episode.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: And then finally, we'll end with a little bit of the book club to see exactly what the book looks like in comparison to this episode of TV.
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You good with that?
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. Sounds good to me. Can't wait.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: All right. And this is a this is a kind of a spoiler question.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And so actually, I might leave this feedback to the end.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But we did get an email from Tia, big listener.
[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Shout out to Tia.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Big listener of Recap Kickback, big supporter.
[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_03]: So we'll talk about Tia's question a little bit later before we get into before we get into the book club or once we get into the book club.
[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_03]: But aside from that, Mari, tell us what else have you been working on these days?
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Before we go and dive into this, what is going on in your neck of the woods?
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_03]: We got a lot to talk about. Yeah.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: So, of course, every week, me and Sarah Kennedy break down true crime over on the crime scene podcast.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: That's crime as he in a podcast.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a true crime review podcast where we watch like true crime documentaries, movies, docu series.
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And like we break it down and we tell you if you should watch them or not.
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We give we give ratings and everything. It's so fun.
[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Chapelle is one of our top guests. Yeah.
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Like tied for like second.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So tied for most appearances.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So we have a lot of fun over there.
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_01]: If you are a true crime head, definitely come over there to us because me and Sarah have amazing guests, wonderful guests.
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it's Big Brother season.
[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: We are in the thick of Big Brother.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So you can follow me on Twitter at Mari talks too much.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: That's to like the number two where I'm like talking lots and lots of Big Brother on Twitter.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And then for our HAP, I'm doing like recaps and round tables.
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Big Brother recaps around tables over there.
[00:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's been fun.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, it's only two weeks down, like a million to go.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like so definitely definitely catch me in and out over there talking Big Brother.
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. And you can catch me here on recap kickback.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: We got a lot of content, but you could also catch me on nothing but Netflix podcast.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I host with Rob Sestadino the Bravo wrap up podcast where we talk about below deck me and Sasha Joseph.
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And then of course, the more content we have here on recap kickback, the better.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking about the Olympics.
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: We're talking about Bel Air coming soon.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you're a big fan of Bel Air, the show on Peacock, come join us.
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll be talking about season three, me and my co-host Pouya.
[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And then of course, me and Mari have more content coming your way soon.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So much more to look forward to from us.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: But y'all came here to talk about dragons.
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think we have to talk about dragons.
[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari overall, what did you think about this as a finale?
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_03]: What is your knee jerk reaction? Did you like it? Did you hate it? Was it me?
[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Tell me your things.
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: My knee jerk reaction as a finale.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I am not like I was honestly fighting to stay awake at some points, which is sad to say.
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I again, I don't know if it's because I have a sick newborn right now.
[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_01]: That can be. But like, I really was like, oh, snap.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_01]: OK, wait, concentrate.
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was so funny because we've been talking about if you've been sticking around to the end of the book club,
[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: we've been trying to speculate how and where this season was going to end.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was after last week's episode that, you know, we got the red sewing last week that I was just like, I'm just going to let go and let God because none of this makes sense to me.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm actually not surprised, in a sense.
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm still mad. I think I even said it.
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It might have been last week. I said, I think this might end on a cliffhanger.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And lo and fucking behold, I don't even know if you can call it a cliffhanger.
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_01]: That was like a certified to be continued, which I think is even worse.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying? Like, it's like it's not even a cliffhanger.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they gave us half.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Anyway.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, like I wasn't surprised.
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I guess I wasn't surprised, but I I don't think this is going to go over well, especially when we have to wait two years.
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_01]: This is only eight episodes.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, give us two more episodes and give us a well-rounded finale that excites people.
[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Like instead of exciting your fan base, you just like made us like feel like you gave us homework.
[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying? It's like it's like, oh, now I got to come back if I want to see all the good stuff.
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Not oh, my God, that was a fantastic and I can't wait to see the next chapter of the war because they could have done that.
[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Especially with two episodes. Oh, baby, they could have done that.
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So and honestly, they could have fitted in with these eight.
[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We talked about it.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of which, sorry, I should have said this in the plugs, too.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: This week, the book club will be meeting again.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: If you caught us last time for our midseason book club review, me, Taryn and Grace will be back this week over on the We Know Scripted TV feed and YouTube.
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Breaking down the whole season of House of the Dragons and comparing it to the book.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Three of all three of us have read the books.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to talk about it. Same format.
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about the show first and then do a more spoilery book related breakdown.
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm pretty sure we're going to do a lot of ranting over there.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: But I say all that to say, like, knowing what's coming, knowing that they have like four seasons to play around with.
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't like this decision.
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And there were but but there were some scenes that I was like, oh, this is really good.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And there are some scenes I was like, wow, this is very unnecessary.
[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And I it's so funny.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I should have known what what was going to happen because I, you know, I watched I was watching the beginning.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I watched the credits. I was watching all this stuff.
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And it said directed by Gita Patel.
[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, Gita directs this one.
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'd like it for those who don't know House of the Dragons this year had five different direct four different directors and each director directed like two episodes.
[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And if you watch the House that Dragon built, they talk about their production schedule is really cool.
[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_01]: They were like shooting stuff like at the same time on different locations, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But each director kind of has their zhuzh.
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: And Gita Patel is not the battle of girly.
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_01]: So when I saw her name at the beginning of the episode, I was like, OK, because I talked about it last week.
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I said there in me and Wardog talked about it.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_01]: There are three battles that they could have chosen to end the season.
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm hmm.
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_01]: So like I was I was for sure thinking like we were going to get some of that.
[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I I say all this to say, like, I am.
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I was not I ended up not being surprised, but I was still pissed.
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_01]: How about you?
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah.
[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_03]: So immediately after it took a lot of energy not to type mid and just put it on Twitter,
[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, because I know I watched the episodes faster than other people.
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, OK, I'll wait and see what everybody else's reaction to it was.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's kind of echo.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_03]: But I think to me, it's only mid as a finale.
[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I love the episode in a vacuum.
[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, this is this is my type of TV.
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: The acting was on point.
[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, the characters were charactering.
[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, there was some funny parts.
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It was very true to House of the Dragon to Game of Thrones.
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_03]: It felt like that.
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, but at the same time, it's like.
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_03]: For a finale that we know is going to lead us to a two year wait for the next season.
[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_03]: This don't count.
[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_03]: This is not good enough.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, um, and in Game of Thrones, we always saw that like the penultimate episode
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_03]: was going to be our big moment.
[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And so when we got there, we accepted that the next episode wasn't going to be shit.
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_03]: We're like, all right, whatever.
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:29] [SPEAKER_03]: We already got, we got our, uh, battle of bastards.
[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_03]: We already got our, um, you know, our Ned Stark moment.
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_03]: We already got these moments in the previous episode.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_03]: So we ain't really tripping on the rest of it.
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_03]: We're like, man, but here it's been a minute since we got a good, a good battle.
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been a, it's been a few episodes since the, the dance of dragons.
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, um, it's been what?
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Five hours of television since then.
[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, probably more than that.
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, yeah, it's been a minute since we've seen fighting fighting, you know,
[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_03]: the thing that people show up for, for house of the dragon.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I can see why it felt a little underwhelming, but I do want to talk about the things
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_03]: that worked. Mari, one of the biggest moments that in the whole episode, we finally see
[00:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Alicent's big move. She decides I'm going to right near it and we're going to have another,
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_03]: we're going to have another powwow. We tried it once. It didn't work.
[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't do this again.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Right near her and Alicent meet. She comes, uh, right near his home.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: She, you know, she sneaks out or well, make sure she gets there.
[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, without, you know, any, any type of smoke.
[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and immediately she's coming kind of hat in hand.
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Just say, Hey, look, if you want this, you got it.
[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want no parts of it. I don't, I don't, this ain't for me.
[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to have no power. I don't want to do any of this.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I, we get, we could put a stop to this.
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's sneak you in to, uh, to King's landing when, uh, crazy Aemon,
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_03]: when he takes off with Kristen Cole, that'd be a perfect time.
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll come in. We'll just take it from the inside and say, Hey, boom, it's done.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_03]: And call it a day. And Rhaenyra is not receptive to seeing Alicent for, for, of course, uh, you know, good reason.
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, they haven't had the best meetings.
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Last time they met up Rhaenyra completely, you know, gives, uh, Alicent a, you know, a big, uh, I guess,
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_03]: an amount of information that you would think would change the game.
[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, the idea that, Hey, this was not about, uh, your, a God.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_03]: It was about a different, a God, you got the prophecy wrong.
[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_03]: You, you, you misunderstood Viserys, you know, that kind of thing.
[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_03]: And Alicent completely shut it down. So here you see now that Alicent is ready to play ball.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Rhaenyra is also, you know, understandably not so ready.
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: She a little petty about this one, Mari.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you expect?
[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Understandably.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I was petty with her too. It's like the, each one of them, when they didn't have the upper hand,
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_01]: they were suing for Pete, you know, and it's just like turnabout is fair play.
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the good stuff, right?
[00:13:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. The good stuff.
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: This was great. Like the, the acting.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Acting.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_03]: 10 out of 10. No notes.
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: No crumbs.
[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, Mari, the moment where they're talking and then they just crying, but staring at each other,
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_03]: but not really crying. And it's maybe like what? 10 seconds of just uninterrupted.
[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Just, you know, just, just feeling that air, that moment of just the tears between the two of them.
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause Rhaenyra says, you know how this is going to end.
[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't just take your word for it.
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Aegon gotta go a son for a son.
[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And in that moment, you see Alicent processing it and staring and you kind of see the defiance.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: So like, man, that's my baby. But at the same time, I got to do what's right.
[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't even have to say words. They just come to that agreement without even talking.
[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And Mari, I mean, these, these activists, they're so good.
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_03]: They're so, so good.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Honestly. Yeah.
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Emma, Emma Darcy and Olivia cook.
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_01]: They literally just made these scenes to get these, these actors in the same room together.
[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to, you have to, why do you have these powerhouses and not let, let them cook.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Let them Olivia cook, you know, that's clearly it because.
[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_01]: It's more alert. This isn't in the book.
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, I mean, come on.
[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Like how many stealing aways do you need to.
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_01]: This is not, this doesn't make sense.
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but like Olivia cook in that moment where she like turns and she goes back to that old
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_01]: habit of like biting her nails and then stop.
[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_01]: It was so eerie because it was like, I could see little Alison right there.
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying it was like, I was like, damn, this is like, they, they were very good.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Send me to IMDB.
[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I need to go and see the catch.
[00:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I didn't go catch up on her work.
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause I was not familiar Olivia.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I know.
[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_03]: So the conversation is very interesting because of course we know that Alison is asking for
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_03]: peace, but like a peaceful transfer of power.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Now she's saying, all right, you, you, you have the upper hand.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You got these dragons.
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Amen.
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been telling y'all he was crazy, but now he didn't lost his mind.
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Listen, it's time.
[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I want me and Helena.
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_03]: We going to hit the streets.
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to run.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and her baby.
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And her baby.
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Me, Helena and, and, and the baby that you didn't have killed, uh, you know, by proxy,
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, we going to run.
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_03]: You can have the throne.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_03]: It's all good.
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And then they really talk about where their differences are because, um, while Alison is
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_03]: coming and trying to explain to Rhaenyra her stance, you know, I resented you for being
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_03]: able to do what you wanted to do while I've always, I had to follow my duty and Rhaenyra
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_03]: like, yeah, I mean, ain't it, ain't it crazy?
[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, yeah, but also I'm trying to end this without killing people because
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_03]: we even see throughout this episode, although Rhaenyra knows that innocent lives have to
[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_03]: be lost.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: She's not necessarily okay with it.
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_03]: She's presented that, but we see her talk to this area at different times and other
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: people.
[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: And it feels like if she can avoid it, she would like to not have to kill a bunch of
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_03]: people.
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So this is good news that she's willing to negotiate like this.
[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_01]: But then just like how Alison's good news, but also it's like, nah.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I was saying.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_01]: At the same time.
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Because you're here now, now I feel like I want to say no, even though we kind of want
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the same things, you know?
[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Well that, that and, I mean, y'all did kill my son, you know what I'm saying?
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, you know, like we cannot forget the son for the son portion, you know?
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think Rhaenyra makes a really good point.
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_03]: She says, you know, I have to kill Agon.
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I do because there are people who still won't support me just because you
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_03]: helped us hurt them.
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And so he's alive.
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_03]: If I don't kill him and establish dominance, then people are just, this is just going to
[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_03]: happen again.
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_03]: People are just going to, a new group of people are going to say, well, she's not my king,
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_03]: not my queen, you know, and then move on.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I thought this was such a cool conversation because, largely because this is a lot of what
[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been saying this whole time.
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, listen, Allison didn't start this war.
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_03]: This war was going to happen.
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_03]: She helped.
[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_03]: But she definitely didn't start this war.
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And these two women seem like they're the ones with the level head enough to make sure
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_03]: that this doesn't get out of hand.
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Like we know what's about to get.
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And, and that's the thing.
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And that, and that is the, like the great part of all of this, right?
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_01]: It's again, these two women coming to the consensus of like, we're seeing this,
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: we're about to unleash hell on the kingdom.
[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And we really don't want to, but then also recognizing that they have no power in it,
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_01]: recognizing both their positions.
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: The one thing I kind of did it, I thought I didn't like it, but I was just like, okay,
[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: it's just like everything they were saying to each other was stuff that we already understood
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_01]: throughout the show.
[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Like Allison being like, oh, I resented you because you didn't, you didn't have to follow
[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: the path, the path and structure.
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And you could be wild while I had to do like, we got that.
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think, you know, they, they had it.
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_01]: They probably had to do all of this exposition for like, you know, the people in the back.
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So, but you know, you know what I'm saying?
[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Like with the people in the back be loud, Mari, I'm in the Facebook groups and they still
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_03]: blaming Allison for starting the war.
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Has she not misheard Viserys?
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Allison finally said, look, that was coming regardless.
[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_03]: That was coming regardless.
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Like some of this needed to be spelled out, you know, but Viserys liked Allison a lot,
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_03]: but he loved right near his mom.
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_03]: That does not change.
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That does not change the idea that right.
[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, that Allison misunderstood him and obviously wanted to protect her own child.
[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, like there's human moments on both sides of this thing, you know, from the blacks
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_03]: to the greens and this scene alone, it's kind of like why I've always been hesitant to be
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_03]: like, why am I, why would I be team black when Allison, if I'm rooting for Allison, I don't really see no issue.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: With her stance.
[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I've always said that, but if Allison 18 green no more, neither am I, you know, I'm like, all right.
[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Because now the alternative is Aemon and Aemon lost his damn mind.
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_03]: He lost his mind.
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Lost his damn mind.
[00:20:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari, um, the episode basically starts with Aemon on the war pass.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_03]: He has, uh, went and started to burn.
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Is it sharp point?
[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_03]: What's it called?
[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Sharp point.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Sharp point.
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Sharp point.
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, he went to burn it to the ground, all the innocent people and everything.
[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and he's trying to prove the point that, uh, y'all not messing with me.
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_03]: He's, he's, he's hurt.
[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_03]: He saw that Vhagar ain't the biggest bag, baddest dragon in the land anymore.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_03]: He got some things to worry about now and he's taking it out on the small folk of sharp
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_03]: point.
[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Sharp point is the seat of house.
[00:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Massey, uh, Gorman Massey is on, uh, Rhaenyra's council.
[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_01]: So, but yeah, he did.
[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And I liked if, if you watched behind the scenes, like I do, uh, they say this is Aemon's
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Aemon, like whenever he feels small, whenever he's slighted, whenever he's insulted, he claps
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_01]: back with like violence and anger and he lashes out.
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it all throughout, uh, season one.
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Since he was a kid.
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Since he was kidding season one.
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So it, it just said that, but now that person who lashes out now has like one, the biggest
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_01]: dragon in the realm and is doing that to small folk, you know?
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_01]: So he, he lost his ever loving mind.
[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_01]: He saw them three extra dragons and was like, uh, I need to figure something out.
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And the whole episode for him is him trying to figure out how he can get more dragons.
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, culminating with him putting hands on Helena.
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Helena.
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_03]: So he pulls up on Helena and I mean, Allison's already working on Helena.
[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_03]: She's already hitting Helena with the, so what if we left?
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_03]: What if we didn't live here no more?
[00:21:56] [SPEAKER_03]: How would you feel if, if mommy, you know, decided to leave?
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Helena's like, I'm the queen.
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't just up and leave.
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_03]: And Helena's like, I mean, uh, Allison's like, well, what if you did?
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, what if we did leave?
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_03]: What if we left and just left this to whomever is left?
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, who wants to fight for it?
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause this ain't got nothing to do with us anymore.
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Like we can let this go.
[00:22:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and so, uh, Amen approaches Helena and he kind of hits, uh, Allison with like,
[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Hey mom.
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, Helena, now I need you to get on your dragon.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause we got fighting to do.
[00:22:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Helena objects.
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, he does put his hands on her.
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_03]: He grabs her, tries to snatch her up.
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's at this point where Allison and Helena are both looking at him upside his head.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Like our dog, have you lost your mind?
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, bro, you like, I understand wanting dragon riders, but also does Helena come off like a dragon,
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_03]: like someone who usually want, but fighting on a dragon, you know what I'm saying?
[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, so at that point we had known that he's off his rocker.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, eventually he will come to her again and he will try a softer touch.
[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_03]: He will come in and say, Hey sister.
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, you know, I really need you to do this dragon thing for me.
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Like it would be nice.
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Like if you just think about what's best for the realm, like I'm really the one to go with, you know,
[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_03]: like these people are bad.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_03]: They're trying to kill us.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they killed your son.
[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_03]: They get, they killed the baby.
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And, and Elena says, Hey, cut it out.
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Cut it out.
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause I seen what you did to a God.
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And initially, he lies.
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_03]: He said, what?
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't burn a God.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_03]: What are you talking about?
[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And she go, no, I saw you.
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I seen it.
[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that with my own eyes, I saw you burn him.
[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it.
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_03]: And my favorite part of this is his response.
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_03]: He says, this is treason.
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm thinking, she's in charge.
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You, she outwrecks you.
[00:23:35] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you mean?
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_03]: This is treason.
[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_03]: She knows that you tried to murder the king.
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_03]: What you did was treason.
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_03]: What'd you think about, Aemon and, uh, Helena and their relationship as it stands right now?
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's very fraught, man.
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_01]: It's very fraught.
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Poor Helena.
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I am, I've, I've, I've, we know if you've been paying attention, I've been going
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_01]: back and forth on Helena's portrayal, uh, all season because in the book, she's an after
[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_01]: thought after her, her son dies.
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_01]: She literally just sits in her room, crying, sulking, grieving basically the whole time.
[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and they've given her a much more rounded character, a much more fleshed out character,
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_01]: a much of a character that you don't see necessarily in shows as much because it's easy to do the grieving,
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_01]: wailing, hysterical mother.
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I go back and forth between like, oh man, I wish she, I wish I could see her show some emotions
[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: because like a horrible thing happened to her.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And then also being like a horrible thing happened to her and she is not processing it well, but it's not showing.
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying? Like, so I, I, I do like her portrayal and I do like her, um, her standing up to Aemon here.
[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll talk about the rest of what she says in the, uh, book corner.
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Uh, I like, I like Helena. I like her, uh, her depiction in the show because you're right. It would have been so easy to just write her off as this grieving mother who, you know, she's married to a madman who, you know, out here, you know, raping and pillaging and all this other stuff.
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And she's a, she's basically a capture, a captor in her own home, you know? And to me, it feels like, no, Helena's almost above it. You know, it was like, it happened. And like, I, there's no point in me bothering it. I've already seen what's coming. I already saw what happened.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_03]: There's no point in me getting bogged down by the emotion of this thing, this motion that should bog you down. Uh, but she's kind of a written as if, yeah, that stuff happened, but guess what? It's other stuff that's coming.
[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_03]: It's other stuff that's coming and I can't be bothered by you bringing up old stuff, by you trying to bully me. At some point, Amen even says, I'm going to, I can have you killed for this. And she's like, bro, it's not going to change nothing. It's not going to change nothing. So do what you're going to do. Do what you're going to do. You still, you're still not going to win this one, sir. Let it go. And so I kind of like Helena. I'd argue that probably Helena is probably the fan favorite of the season based off what I've been seeing online. Like even team black is like, all right, the greens can go, but Helena can stay. Yeah. We like Helena.
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Helena. But that's the crazy thing though, too, because Helena is she's acting how brand did in that last season, but doing such a much better job of it. Way better. F brand. Yeah. For real. For real. For real. For real. Like F that dude. I was like, I exactly like, I love that type of, I've seen it. It's already written. Go away.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_03]: No way. I can't be bothered. I shan't be bothered. I should not. Yeah. Man. Yeah. Um, Helena is doing good work here. Of course, Eamon is not happy because this is his, uh, this is his backup dragon rider. You know, Alison is not a dragon rider. Uh, and so we know that Helena will be next in line. And well, from what we learned in this episode and you and I have talked about with the war dog, Helena's got a dragon that's been around for a while. You know, Helena's dragon, uh, he'd be formidable if, if, if, if able to get,
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_01]: into the battle. Yeah. Dream fryer. She's a, she dragon who is like, I think like one of the first, um, it, it, like one of the first dragons born on Westeros from a clutch from, um, the three original dragons.
[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And dream fire herself is like the mother of like half the dragons. Like, I think like Cyrax and Caraxes and stuff like that. I, you know, go back to our dragon thing. Look it up.
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_01]: She, she does have a few, um, Sunfire, I think is her progeny. Doesn't matter, but she's been around. She's at least a hundred year old dragon. She's like 120 year old dragon. So she's, she's just as big. She's in that like same weight class, maybe not even just weight class. Cause it's not, it's not just automatically. If you're older, you're bigger, but she's been around through actual wars. You know, she's, she's a seasoned dragon.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So she's not as big as Vermithor and Bagar, but she's seasoned. Um, and she would be a great asset for Eamon to have if Helena would, would, uh, get out there and actually write her.
[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. But she ain't about to do that. She's not doing that. So cut it out. Cut it out. Amen.
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But dream fire is like most of her writers have kind of been like gentle writers. Like her first writer, I believe was princess rainies who, who gave her her name dream fire because it was her dream that, um, it's either rainies or danies one, you know, cause all the names.
[00:28:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like they need somebody's niece did something. Yeah. But she, she was a dragon dreamer. She foresaw the doom of Valyria and stuff like that. And so, uh, dream fire normally her, her writers do are like dreamers. They can predict the future. Um, at least most of them have.
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so dream, dream fire is, would be a really good weapon, but Helena is not down for it. I don't blame her.
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Uh, we'll see that Eamon is losing a lot of his support from inside the castle very quickly, uh, in this episode, including his brother, a guy who we talked about a little bit has been burnt to a crisp.
[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_03]: We find out in this episode, uh, that even his dick don't work. Bust like a sausage in the microwave.
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yo, I was like, I didn't need to know this.
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It was actually kind of funny to know it. I was like, I was like, I didn't need to know that, but I did laugh because it was just the imagery of it. He said, bust like a sausage on a stick. I said, ah, you know,
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_01]: and then, um, uh, what's his name?
[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Laris.
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Laris. Yeah. Continue to be like, this could happen. This can happen. He said, I can't even pee straight.
[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I can't pee without my, pee running down my leg dog. You, why are you talking to me about conquest?
[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't really care, bro. Look at me. Look at my face. I'm, I'm hideous.
[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm out.
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh God.
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I, I, he said my stuff, my junk don't work. I, I'm a hideous. I, I, I can't walk. Leave me alone.
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_03]: But Laris is still playing the game of Thrones here. He's telling, Hey God, we can leave. We can leave
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_03]: right now. And let's say we just disappear for a while. Let this whole fight thing happen.
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And then come back later on. And people are going to say, Hey, look at Aegon. He's not a bad option.
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Aemon sucks. Look at what he's doing. The greens. We didn't really love them, but our real King is
[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_03]: back to save the day. You could be Aegon, the peaceful. You could be Aegon, the rebuilder.
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. Aegon, the realms delight. Mara, you've heard that one before, right? We've already heard
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_01]: that name before. So, so this is good. Again, like these character pieces, like I loved how most
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_01]: of these scenes are just two characters, like, like cashing it out. And so Laris here is like
[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_01]: playing on what he knows is Aegon's weakness, button, whatever you want to call it. Like he knows,
[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah, he knows that Aegon, you know, didn't want to be King. And then when he got into the dragon pit
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_01]: and he saw those people shouting for him, it's, it's the love of the realm, the love of the small
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_01]: folk. We saw when he was trying to give that man his sheep back and Otto was lying. You told me
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I was, I was tripping. You was like, are you giving him too much? And I was like, I think he liked the
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_01]: small folk a little bit, you know? No, well, true. Okay. But anyway, I, I don't, I never thought it
[00:31:47] [SPEAKER_01]: was in, it wasn't that he liked the small folk. He likes, he wants to be the admiration. Yeah. He
[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_01]: likes, he likes that they look up to him. He never got the love from his father, right?
[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about it. Never got the love from his mother, right? So, so he wants that love and admiration
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_01]: as a king from his people. And, and Larys sees that. So that's why Larys is like giving him this
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_01]: angle. And then it's basically confirmed when Aegon says, Aegon, the realm's the light, because he's,
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_01]: he's jealous. They like me? They truly like me? They love me? That's, that was Rhaenyra's name. That was
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_01]: her nickname when she was a kid, the realm's the light. Everybody loved Rhaenyra. So he, so not only did
[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Rhaenyra get his father's love, she got her own mother's love and she had the love of the people
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_01]: as a kid. And that's everything that Aegon wanted. So this was like pure master manipulation. Yeah.
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Snaps. Snaps. Yeah. Also, I love how Larys paints it when he comes in, because we've talked about this a
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_03]: little bit. We, for the book readers, they know that the, the book is an unreliable narrator. It's,
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_03]: it's told through the eyes of like secondhand sources passed down between maesters and da,
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_03]: da, da, da, da. But the show is giving us the firsthand account of what actually happened.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And so when Larys comes in and tells Aegon what's been going on, he says, Hey, word on the street is
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_03]: that, uh, Rhaenyra got three new dragon riders. And I don't know, Aemon went over there, saw,
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_03]: oh, Vhagar thought he was going to run up on him, seeing three dragons and ran away like a little
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_03]: notch, you know? And I was like, you have to paint it like that. You know, you have to,
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_03]: because that's, what's going to get Aegon's attention. He don't want to hear, you know,
[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, Aemon courageously went over there to fight the three dragons. No, he ran away. A rumor,
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_03]: he said, word on the street is that your boy ran, your boy ran. And so, uh, he not even,
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_03]: he kind of scared. The streets are saying that he's, he's chicken, you know, a little yellow.
[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I love this. I love that they make references to the show and the book having differences
[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_03]: a couple of times. There's a moment where Alison and Rhaenyra are talking. We already discussed it,
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_03]: but Rhaenyra tells Alison, now, you know, history going to say that she was like bitter and vile and
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_03]: power hungry. And I was like, see, see, I told y'all niggas, I told y'all, I told y'all. Like,
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I was so excited. I was like, yes, exactly. We got to go by what we see it on the show, Mari.
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. And history did it for both of them though. That's the crazy thing. Like
[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_01]: the two people who we're seeing, who, who are trying to stop the war, like the most in the book
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_01]: get painted as conniving women who just want power. You know what I'm saying? Like it happens to both
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_01]: of them and it's very, it's such a very interesting take. And that's why it's like, it, it took me a
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_01]: while to like adjust to, to that new thing because you know, you get used to like a ruthless Rhaenyra or
[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_01]: a, you know, uh, desperate Alison and stuff like that. But I love this take on it. And I love that
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_01]: they get the brunt of it because again, think about it. Like I said, if this is all true, Damon was
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_01]: wandering around Heron Hall useless for so long, but in history, like, oh, he raised a great host. He's,
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_01]: he did such a good job when he was shitting the bed for most of it. I was like, he kind of,
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: he got there eventually, but it definitely wasn't the story that they was telling the books. You know
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_03]: what I'm saying? Um, I want to talk about the rest of the people, uh, that, uh, Eamon has lost or
[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_03]: that, well, we talked about all the people that Eamon has lost on his side. Um, but let's talk about
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_03]: the people that he does have. Uh, we saw, uh, Sir Kristen Cole, uh, sniffing Alison's, uh, favor.
[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_03]: It might as well be. And right in front of her brother, G Wayne, uh, G Weezy, F baby.
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. G Wayne is not having it. He finally just has the full Kristen Cole. Hey, say, bro,
[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_03]: we all know you was sleeping with the king, with the queen and that ain't okay. You, you lack honor.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I see you. I'm going in and we go tell, I can get you thrown to the wall, boy. Do you understand me?
[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_03]: See, Kristen Cole ain't worried. He's like, Hey bro, honestly, I done seen dragons.
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I done seen the gods fighting, bro. I don't care. I don't care. We about to die. And honestly,
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_03]: and honestly, I wish I was dead, you know, like being alive. I got to stress over the dragons that
[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I just saw kill all them folks. So do your worst G Wayne. I got like this Kristen Cole now.
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It was pretty funny. He's like, I'm a sniff these panties. Leave me alone.
[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Leave me alone. This is all I got. This is all I got right now. And I'm ashamed of this as well.
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah. So good job. You got, so you got me, you know what I'm saying?
[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_01]: G Wayne literally ran up on him. He said, and Cole was like, what you finna do? Cause honestly,
[00:36:53] [SPEAKER_01]: this is all for nothing. It was very, it was a very interesting scene. I really did like it,
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, and it, and it did make me pause. It's so, it just, it's just so funny because I'm like,
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_01]: this is the man that we've, we've all hated for two seasons. You know what I'm saying? Like,
[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_01]: this is our equivalent of like a Joffrey and a Ramsey. And even he is at the point where he's like,
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_01]: well, we finna die. Um, I didn't sign up for this, but here we go.
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah. Yeah. G Wayne is like, you lack honor. You slept with the queen. And he goes, yeah. Okay.
[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_03]: She wasn't even married, bro. Chill out. Like, no, get over it. It's fine. Like, yeah, I'm not
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_03]: honorable, but guess what? I've met the rest of the Kingsguard. They ain't either. Ain't no,
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_03]: ain't no shining stars amongst us. We all, we all down back. And I thought about it. And I remember
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: back in Game of Thrones where we did see that, oh yeah, these people at the wall that took this oath
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_03]: be at the brothels, the Kingsguard be at the brothels, the knight, Jamie, done all kinds of
[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_03]: dirt. You know what I'm saying? So yeah, we hold Kristen Cole to this standard of he's a knight and
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_03]: he, and he took his honor and all this other stuff. But at the same time, he like, yeah,
[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_03]: we all doing it. All of us and take me out. Fine. Kill them. But we're not doing it. That was him.
[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_01]: He was the one who touted all these virtues and shit. And that's what Raynaud said to Allison.
[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_01]: She did. She did. This was you. You were the one who...
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_03]: She said, them was your banners. Them was your banners. You was walking around like you was all high
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_03]: and mighty, holy rolling at the church house, lighting candles and stuff like that when you
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_03]: wasn't doing nothing that the rest of us wasn't doing. And Allison was like, well, I really was only
[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_03]: trying to just show y'all that you could be holy. You know, she's like, I was trying to prove to you
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_03]: but guess what? I guess Allison was wrong and so was Kristen Cole because he didn't gave up.
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_03]: He said, look, I'm here to fight and that's it. You know, don't know what to tell you. We're
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_03]: marching to our own death at this point. And so G-Wayne didn't even have a response to it.
[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Right. And it's like, you know, he's... And I think it's funny that G-Wayne was like, oh,
[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you were a steward son of Bazar Dorn and you raised yourself up. Like, Kristen Cole,
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_01]: clearly, we've been talking about it all season. He's been stumbling ass back
[00:39:14] [SPEAKER_01]: words into promotion. And this is, in this moment, you can tell he's like, he didn't want them. He's
[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_01]: not prepared for them. He's like, I'm gonna just go and fight because that's what makes sense to me.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what none of this other shit is. Yeah. We're not supposed to have dragons fighting
[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_03]: in the sky, burning down. Like, what does that mean for us? You know, he's saying that that's the
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_03]: fight that matters. We're just footnotes in this dance of the dragons. You know, if we all got burnt,
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_03]: nobody would be talking about us. We would still be talking about the dragons. And so he's over it.
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_03]: He's done. Uh, but he's still gonna go fight. G-Wayne and Kristen Cole are still in the battle.
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and so they are still firmly, uh, team green as we look on to some other maneuvering the greens
[00:39:57] [SPEAKER_03]: are doing. Uh, we have a blockade to figure out, Mari. And, uh, this episode, this was the Thailand,
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, Lannister episode. How do you feel watching Tyler Lannister talking to his favorite people
[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_03]: at the triarchy? This is, he loves these people. He's his favorite people in the world.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_01]: This was, this was funny. I mean, like, if you're going to give comedic relief, then this is it.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, just him bumbling through these customs was very, very hilarious. And the fact that
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Tylan Lannister is like such a central character and like, I mean, this isn't a spoiler. He's going
[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_01]: to be with us probably for a minute. Like it was really funny that he's over here in a far away land,
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_01]: mud wrestling, a woman captain. And then the minute she says like, I want to have your babies.
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, okay. She's like with my wives, I want you to impregnate my wives. I was like,
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_01]: okay, that was kind of cool. That was kind of funny. Like, it was just such, it was such a,
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_01]: a, a levity. It brought levity to it. And I mean, like, was it filler? Yes. I, I would wholeheartedly
[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_01]: call it. Yes. I would wholeheartedly call it filler, but it was fun. You know, it was fun.
[00:41:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. I mean, I liked it because, uh, you know, we know the blockade is an issue. We know the gullet
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_03]: is an issue. Um, the people, the people at King's Landing are starving. People are dying, Kim. And so,
[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_03]: uh, Tylan has to do something. He has to make himself useful. And he goes to talk to the
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_03]: hierarchy who we know he hates. Uh, and so he goes to them and he's trying to, he's trying to bargain
[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_03]: with them. They even talk about the step songs. Like, can you give up the step songs? Can we have
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_03]: something? Um, and Tylan knows in these negotiations that these, this isn't going well,
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_03]: you know, um, he's, he's losing the battle. They ended up landing on a fleet of warships
[00:41:59] [SPEAKER_03]: sailing at his command that would break the blockade, uh, themselves. So they're going to
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_03]: go in and, and, uh, sail alongside him, but only on one condition. They have to take, uh, their captain
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_03]: or no, well, their, uh, Lord Lohar, uh, along with him. And that's when we find out that it is a woman,
[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Admiral Lohar. And, uh, he's stunned. You can see Tylan trying to process like, damn, a woman's in
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_03]: charge, but also this lady, I don't know for you, for all of you, you know, unsavory people to be
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_03]: following her. She gotta be something. And so we found out that she's a character. I really liked this
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_01]: character, Mark. Yeah. It was like, they were trying to bring back like Gwendolyn Christie. Like we know
[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_01]: everybody loved Brianna Tarr that the strong woman archetype who also was like very pretty and very
[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_01]: funny. Um, this is, this character is gender swapped because in the books he is just a man. Um, but it
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_01]: was, this was a really fun swap here. She, she brought the actress, brought a lot to the character.
[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I felt like, and, uh, her playing off of Thailand was hilarious. Like it was a good for, like they're
[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_01]: a great, uh, great idea by, by the showrunners to do this. Yeah. Yeah. She tells him look kind of
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_03]: skinny and I honestly don't think you can beat me in a fight. So if you can't beat me, then I really
[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_03]: can't even see myself riding with you like that. And so, uh, they do, they got to go mud wrestle
[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_03]: and, uh, she gets the better of them for the most part, but eventually, uh, he, he gets frustrated
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_03]: enough to where he pops in the mouth a few times, but she appreciates it. You know, I think it earns
[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_03]: their respect because she was looking at Thailand, like, what are you, uh, a nerd? You're a
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_03]: philosopher. Like why did they send you? You ain't got, like, do you fight? You know, do you even,
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_03]: even lift bro? You know, she was on his neck. Um, but by the end of it, I could tell she was checking
[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_03]: him out, but I was like, but why? And I just feel like she's not interested, but she definitely
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_03]: looking at him almost like she, like, like she was going to sell him off to somebody. Honestly,
[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_03]: she's like, you look kind of skinny and, uh, okay. You're not bad on the eyes. You can fight
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_03]: a little bit. All right. You're virile. I like that. She's about to milk this man like a cow
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and try to, try to, Mari, my question, she wants him to impregnate a bunch of her wives. I'm
[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_03]: going to assume that means more than two. We about to have a bunch of Lannister bastards running
[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_03]: around here with the Thailand. Yeah. It feels like it. It really did. Yeah. But this was a
[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_03]: strategic move, uh, from the greens, you know, they need the gullet to be, uh, to be open. They
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_03]: need the trade to come through because, uh, uh, at this point they can't trust anything anymore.
[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, doing the, the, the usual routes. Cause we know that the bastards were all collected via boat.
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And so now, Hey, Amen is shutting down that he's like, Hey, we got to check. We got to check every
[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_03]: boat that's coming out. Like, what about the fishermen? I don't care what we can't have
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_03]: bastards going and getting dragons all willy nilly. We got to inspect everything. So they're
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_03]: tightening the ship up a little bit over on the greens and they need to, because the blacks are
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_03]: making big moves as well. Mari. I'm not team black all the way yet. Mostly, mostly I still,
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I do love me some Alison, but if you was going to try to get me to team black, all y'all had to do
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_03]: was tell me off was going to be there. Cause all is the best thing that has happened to this show
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_03]: in so long off the white Mari, this man. I just, I just, I just, what was we, we've been missing
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_03]: this all season off just being ghetto at the table, not caring about decorum drunk asking for bring
[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_03]: more of them chickens back. Yeah. Yeah. What a bird's at. Yeah. What a small birds was that?
[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I love off the white Mari. Yeah. Off has no manners. Um, feet up on the, the painted table,
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_01]: the sacred table.
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Feet up. Poor Jace. He can't even, he can't even serve face the way he used to. Cause he's
[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_03]: so busy looking down his nose at off the white.
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Over here pouting and serving face. Sir. Man. Looking like a model over here.
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm mad at you.
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Jace, Jace is down bad because he's surrounded by bastards. He's no longer the highest, the
[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_03]: highest ranking bastard in his mind anymore. He's like, everybody got dragons. Now I was high
[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_03]: born and I had dragons and everybody knew I was a bastard, but we didn't have to talk about it.
[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause I was the only one, me and my brother was the only ones walking around here.
[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Oath don't care. Oath told, Oath was talking to Jace like they was the same. And you could
[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_03]: tell it was eating Jace alive.
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, he said, boy, y'all are just as black as they said it'd be. Come here, boy. Give me a hug.
[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Jace was like, ah, he said, I'm the queen. He's like, yeah, me too. I'm the queen.
[00:46:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Cousin's son, baby. Come here. I love it so much. Cause you could tell it's eating Jace alive
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_03]: to the point where, uh, we actually have to see Bela go run up on him and say, Hey, chill
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_03]: out. What are you doing? Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself. Grow up. Hold your head up.
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Black women. Again, saving every.
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't give y'all that one.
[00:47:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Her pep talk was good.
[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. She told him,
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_03]: feeling sorry for yourself is not going to change anything. Why don't you,
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_03]: if you feel like you are unworthy of this due to you growing up a bastard,
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_03]: um, then why don't you prove that you're worthy? You're obviously a dragon rider.
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_03]: So that means something, but he felt like, you know,
[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_03]: his status as high born was enough to set him apart from the oaths of the world.
[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, she said, she said, do you think you're the only noble, uh,
[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_01]: son to not be fathered by their, their noble.
[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Yeah. Right. I was like, name names, name, names, name, names,
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_01]: air them out.
[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_01]: You are not special, sir. And again, like I said, last week,
[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_01]: he came out of Targaryen coochie. Nobody can dispute.
[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You can't deny that. You can't deny that.
[00:48:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Your mama is your mama. So you, you out here, we know you got the blood,
[00:48:12] [SPEAKER_01]: you know, isn't a, where your daddy, who's the daddy situation.
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_01]: We know you got it. So stop pouting, stop serving face,
[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_01]: go get on your drink.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_03]: From Jason standpoint, Mari, it just, from his whole life,
[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_03]: he'd been, he'd been battling these bastard allegations. Okay.
[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Right. Every day he heard people whispering about him.
[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_03]: He see his dad, he came kicking with his daddy in public without people talking
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_03]: him and his brother walking around basically hand in hand because they know
[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_03]: at any given point they might get slandered, uh, you know,
[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_03]: that kind of thing. And so for him, he's like,
[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_03]: you ain't had to go through what I had to go through. You don't know, you know,
[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_03]: you don't know how hard it is being a bastard. And that's a,
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_03]: that is a pattern that we will see in this episode as well,
[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_03]: because we got more bastards to talk about Mari. Um,
[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_03]: eventually, uh, rate Rhaenyra will have dinner with her whole, uh,
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_03]: her council of bastards and, uh, and family members.
[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_03]: And I thought it was very funny because she's talking to them and being like,
[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, y'all ain't high born, but y'all do fly dragon. So, you know,
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_03]: y'all cool. And, uh, yeah, welcome to the club.
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_03]: And the whole time I'm thinking y'all cousins,
[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why you acting all high and mighty. You know, you can't vote.
[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_03]: They get the moment they got on the dragons. You couldn't deny them no more.
[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_03]: These are people. You can't, it's just like,
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah, Thanksgiving dinner talking about who invited y'all.
[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like, nah, we can on your mama's daddy side. We can.
[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_03]: She was like, uh, knights need to learn manners.
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, which I thought was interesting because all says, Oh,
[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I ain't worried about Vhagar.
[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Me and silver wing going to pull up and handle that. And they're like,
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: all right, off you drunk, calm down.
[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And when she tells him to find his manners for a second,
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I thought he was going to be like, or what?
[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Because what can she really do?
[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Y'all done handed this wild man a whole ass dragon.
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_03]: And now you,
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and now you're seeing the downside to just pick it anytime,
[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Dick and Harry off the street to give a war machine,
[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_03]: you know, uh,
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_03]: all basically saying,
[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to,
[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to handle this with no training,
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_03]: no Valyrian.
[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_03]: He don't know nothing.
[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Not a thing.
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_03]: So her plan is to wait a few days,
[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_03]: turn them up and then send them on their way.
[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari,
[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_03]: what did you think about this scene at the dinner table?
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I like this thing.
[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_01]: It showed like,
[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_01]: kind of like the stark differences between all the bastards,
[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_01]: like off just being like,
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_01]: all like mad,
[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_01]: disrespectful.
[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And,
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Adam being brought up so close to like,
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_01]: almost a seat of power and knowing like,
[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_01]: he knows he's low born,
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_01]: but he knows directly who his,
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_01]: his father is him and him wanting to be fiercely loyal.
[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he clearly is fiercely loyal to Rhaenyra.
[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_01]: like bastardy aside,
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_01]: like he,
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_01]: you could tell he wants to prove himself to her.
[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And then you get Hugh,
[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_01]: who I think is like with it,
[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_01]: like he was like,
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_01]: mind your tongue.
[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like apologizing for all of his,
[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_01]: girl,
[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry.
[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I like,
[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't have had to bring,
[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I had to bring,
[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_01]: you know?
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So like,
[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_01]: until Rhaenyra was like,
[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_01]: we might got to burn some small folk.
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Bring this to former small folk.
[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And,
[00:51:31] [SPEAKER_01]: and that's when he was kind of like,
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_01]: you can see,
[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you can see his,
[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_01]: his face kind of like soured a little bit.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_01]: It was very interesting.
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_03]: One of the big questions in this episode is always at what cost,
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_03]: when do you put your,
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_03]: your interests aside to save thousands of people?
[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_03]: We know that Alison at some point has to wrestle with,
[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_03]: do I sacrifice a gun to make this go away?
[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You know?
[00:51:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And so at this dinner table,
[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_03]: they're saying,
[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_03]: okay,
[00:51:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you want us to fight for you.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_03]: And that's cool.
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_03]: But your first thought is to not attack the high towers directly,
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_03]: not to attack,
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_03]: attack,
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Amen directly.
[00:52:05] [SPEAKER_03]: It's to go and cut off their resources and attack these,
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_03]: these places where they've built their,
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: their forts or whatever,
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_03]: strongholds.
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's where the innocent people are.
[00:52:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And to me,
[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_03]: that's always been,
[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_03]: again,
[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I've said this from jump.
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_03]: That's always been a reason why I'm always like,
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_03]: it'd be team black,
[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_03]: but they ain't that great because they still have to make decisions in war.
[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_03]: They cause innocent people to die that I think sometimes can be avoided.
[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think those conversations are the ones that we're having here a lot
[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_03]: more in this episode.
[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I did want to flag up that,
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_03]: right near and Corlys do talk as well.
[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_03]: a little bit.
[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_03]: And they talk about these bastards and Corlys is one of the people who tells
[00:52:43] [SPEAKER_03]: her you need to go ahead and strike quickly while the iron's hot.
[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And while you have the upper hand,
[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_03]: when you have the,
[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_03]: you can clearly outnumber Vhagar.
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Y'all can,
[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_03]: y'all can jump Vhagar at this point.
[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_03]: and then take the upper hand and be done with this very quickly.
[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_03]: And it sounds like Rhaenyra is kind of feeling what Corlys is talking about.
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_01]: She was still,
[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_01]: she was still like kind of on the fence.
[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_01]: She was like,
[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I was hoping they seen my four dragons and they'd be like,
[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_01]: oh,
[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_01]: let's go,
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_01]: let's,
[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_01]: let's not do this.
[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And Corlys was like,
[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_01]: nah,
[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_01]: you got to get in there.
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_01]: she talked to all her people.
[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's why when Allison does finally come,
[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_01]: it was like Rainier had just made up her mind that she just decided.
[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_01]: That she was going to roll up.
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_01]: And then Allison comes and I was like,
[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_01]: like I just decided.
[00:53:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I just,
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_03]: she just convinced herself that it was okay to do this.
[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And now,
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_03]: there are other options out there.
[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I liked the conversation with her and Corlys.
[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Corlys talking about how,
[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_03]: he's got to go toward the blockade too.
[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_03]: We know it seems like the triarchy and Corlys are about to meet head on very soon.
[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_03]: and he has renamed his ship.
[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_03]: it's no longer named after him,
[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_03]: which is always odd.
[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You can just give the ship your own name.
[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like naming your dog,
[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_03]: your own name,
[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Mari.
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Snake.
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_01]: You know,
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_01]: at least the way it was his nickname.
[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't his like,
[00:54:02] [SPEAKER_01]: it wasn't like Corlys.
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you just had a baby.
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_01]: What if you named your baby Mari talks too much?
[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_01]: How do you know?
[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know.
[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_01]: You know,
[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_01]: it's weird.
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_01]: but I,
[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I love that he renamed the boat,
[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_01]: the queen who never was,
[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_01]: he finally realized after she's gone that he shouldn't have been
[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_01]: running his ass around the step cells and shit.
[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_01]: He should have been at home where he belongs,
[00:54:30] [SPEAKER_01]: but whatever.
[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And,
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_03]: he mentions that the high towers and the Lannisters are marching.
[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:54:36] [SPEAKER_03]: but there's one other person.
[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_03]: There's one other player in this game that we have not accounted for.
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And this is the same player that,
[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Rhaenyra will get pulled away from dinner to,
[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_03]: to go confront.
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_03]: She gets a letter from,
[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Simon.
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Simon said,
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_03]: who says,
[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_03]: he says a Raven.
[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah,
[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey,
[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_03]: we still loyal,
[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_03]: but you might want to come to Heron Hall.
[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_03]: And so,
[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Rhaenyra dashes off to Heron Hall.
[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_03]: And now we finally get the conclusion to what Dame,
[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_03]: the Damon and Heron Hall story.
[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Mario,
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_03]: do you feel like it was worth it?
[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Do you feel like four episodes of Damon and Heron Hall were worth this
[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_03]: moment?
[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know,
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_01]: but like,
[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_01]: sir,
[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Alfred broom pulls up.
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Finally,
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_01]: where are you being?
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Another thing that's been gone for three episodes.
[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Nowhere to be found.
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Episode five.
[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_01]: And he pull up with it,
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_01]: like a traitor ass nigga.
[00:55:29] [SPEAKER_01]: So like,
[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_01]: he had a long time to think about it,
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Mark.
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_01]: He was like,
[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey man,
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_01]: you need to be king.
[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you catch,
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I watched with,
[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_01]: captions on.
[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So when they stepped into the God's woods,
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_01]: the God's woods,
[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it was,
[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_01]: he was like,
[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_01]: what was that?
[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_01]: And then Damon was like,
[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_01]: this place will mess with you.
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Like,
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_03]: let me say it.
[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't worry about that.
[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_03]: They listen to all of us.
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_03]: You should go out the Northern sounds.
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah,
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_01]: exactly.
[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And then Alfred said what he said.
[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And Damon was like,
[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't take you for a turn cloak.
[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Damon should have taken his head right in there.
[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,
[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I think Damon had made his decision yet.
[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that Damon,
[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_03]: because what we've seen thus far is that Damon has still been
[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_03]: correcting everybody.
[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I,
[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_03]: not King.
[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't print.
[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_03]: There ain't no Prince.
[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Ain't no King.
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_03]: King.
[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm the King.
[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_03]: King.
[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_03]: You ain't got to say the whole thing.
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Nope.
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't say concert.
[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_03]: It's King.
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_03]: It's King.
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You know?
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And so I think prior to this episode,
[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if Damon had made up his mind about whether or not he was
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_03]: going to support Rhaenyra's,
[00:56:34] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:56:34] [SPEAKER_03]: claim to the throne anymore,
[00:56:35] [SPEAKER_03]: but we get the conclusion.
[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Alice rivers is still here.
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Still annoying the hell out of me,
[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_03]: but,
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_03]: but,
[00:56:43] [SPEAKER_03]: and she made herself useful.
[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:56:46] [SPEAKER_03]: She took him to,
[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:56:48] [SPEAKER_03]: touch,
[00:56:48] [SPEAKER_03]: touch on the tree.
[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And if you've seen game of Thrones,
[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_03]: If you've seen game of Thrones,
[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_03]: you know exactly what's about to happen.
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_03]: because when people start messing with the guys,
[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_03]: wood and the trees and all,
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_03]: even the people in the forest and all that kind of stuff,
[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_03]: you,
[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_03]: some brand activities about to happen.
[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Mara,
[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_03]: we saw the three-eyed Raven in this episode.
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_01]: We saw the original three-eyed Raven,
[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_01]: blood Raven,
[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_01]: a bastard Targaryen.
[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_01]: that was pretty cool,
[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_01]: even though it's for stuff like we saw.
[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So we saw the night King roll up.
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_01]: We saw Dany and her dragons.
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh,
[00:57:25] [SPEAKER_01]: look at that.
[00:57:25] [SPEAKER_01]: We saw the red comet.
[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_01]: we basically saw the destruction of the kingdom,
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_01]: like that's,
[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_01]: the original prophecy of like,
[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_01]: if we can't get this kingdom united,
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_01]: then these,
[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_01]: these people won't walk all over us.
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_01]: These,
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_01]: these,
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_01]: these white walkers.
[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_01]: it was really cool.
[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_01]: You know,
[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it was cool.
[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_01]: the fact that though,
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I get,
[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_01]: that it was just like,
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_01]: she's like,
[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like,
[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_01]: you weren't ready when you first came.
[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So now you get to see it.
[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And then Damon touches it.
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_01]: He,
[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_01]: he gets,
[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_01]: he now understands the prophecy because he was never told it.
[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And now he's here to bid the need to Rhaenyra.
[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Unite the kingdom and fight against it because he saw it.
[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Was it,
[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_01]: was this all worth it?
[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Meh.
[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't hate it.
[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't hate it.
[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't hate it.
[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_03]: What,
[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_03]: what,
[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_03]: what does annoy me is that whenever we talk about this prophecy and stuff like
[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_03]: that,
[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_03]: it,
[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_03]: it seems like it all,
[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_03]: the book always stops at Daenerys.
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_03]: It's like,
[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_03]: we see Daenerys and then they're like,
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh,
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_03]: okay.
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Starting to make sense.
[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Like,
[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_03]: so we just gonna ignore Jon Snow.
[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Like,
[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_03]: bro,
[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_03]: like Daenerys is only a part of this whole project.
[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_03]: there's one more layer to this whole unite the realm type situation.
[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Beat the,
[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_03]: the,
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_03]: the night King,
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_03]: all that stuff that ultimately didn't really even matter in the game of
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_03]: thrones.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_03]: but you know,
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I,
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it,
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it frustrates me a little bit when they do stuff like that,
[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_03]: but I appreciated it because,
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_03]: we've had four episodes of Damon really struggling with why wouldn't Viserys
[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_03]: want me to be next in line?
[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Why was I getting passed up for something that I was so clearly right for?
[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_03]: why,
[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_03]: why do people want me to support right near when I would be better than her at
[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_03]: this job?
[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_03]: he's been doing that episode after episode and really having to like face a
[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_03]: lot of his demons.
[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think now he sees the bigger picture and he understands the bigger
[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_03]: picture.
[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_03]: He's able to say,
[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_03]: all right,
[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_03]: all that other stuff is trivial.
[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_03]: he's kind of in the same space as Kristen Cole right now.
[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Like,
[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey bro,
[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_03]: it's bigger than me.
[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_03]: It's above me now.
[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_03]: We just got,
[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I just got to do my part.
[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_03]: And my part is to be a part of the bigger picture,
[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_03]: which is Rhaenyra needs to be on the throne because if that doesn't happen,
[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_03]: we don't get whatever this vision was.
[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I just saw it.
[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_03]: And we don't save,
[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_03]: we don't save,
[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_03]: anybody from winter because winter is coming.
[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_03]: he said,
[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_03]: he sounds just like Saris in that moment when he talks to Rhaenyra about
[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_03]: it.
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was like,
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_01]: now that I know where the season ended and how it ended,
[01:00:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I completely understand why they had to make him,
[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_01]: waste time in here and all.
[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_01]: So,
[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_03]: even though history will just tell this part,
[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_03]: just the part where he has a huge army and Rhaenyra showed up and she's so
[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_03]: graceful,
[01:00:15] [SPEAKER_03]: grateful to him because he still loves her and is willing to bend the knees.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_03]: He got there eventually.
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I want them to kind of kiss though here too,
[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: a little bit.
[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't even like each other.
[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing.
[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing.
[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_03]: People who read the book been hollering all season.
[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_03]: He loves his family.
[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And I,
[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_03]: we have not seen him mention his family.
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_03]: He ain't mentioned his daughters.
[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Huh?
[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes,
[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: he did.
[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I said,
[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I should add me.
[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: The only thing he hallucinated while he was there was his damn family.
[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Rhaenyra hallucinated his family,
[01:00:52] [SPEAKER_03]: charging him up about it,
[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_03]: about not caring about his family.
[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_03]: His wife said,
[01:00:56] [SPEAKER_03]: have you asked about our kids?
[01:00:58] Yeah.
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_03]: That man was like,
[01:01:01] [SPEAKER_03]: no.
[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: He hallucinated about his mama a little bit too,
[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: right?
[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying,
[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying that people have been telling me Damon loved his family for a long time.
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I've yet to see that same type of outward expression.
[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_03]: It feels like he's loved,
[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_03]: loved his mama.
[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_03]: He did love his mama.
[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Woo.
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_03]: And I don't want to talk about that at all.
[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So,
[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: so,
[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_03]: so Rhaenyra does charge him up and get him to bend the knee.
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_03]: for,
[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I knew where it was going when it happened,
[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_03]: but I think it was very satisfying.
[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I think it was for Rhaenyra to,
[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_03]: to know that she has him in the corner because this is becoming,
[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_03]: this is changing to me from a civil war between the family that it is to becoming,
[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_03]: how can we get everybody on board with the ultimate goal,
[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_03]: which is we got to make sure that the song of ice and fire does not end in tragedy.
[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_03]: That we don't end in a world where,
[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_03]: the night King and the white walkers take over and all this other stuff.
[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So I like that Damon has now shifted,
[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_03]: but I also kind of think the character might be a little bit more boring now that he's,
[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_03]: doesn't have the moral gray area anymore.
[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you think they're going to do with Damon moving forward?
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: he's,
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_01]: he's still going to be Damon though.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope so.
[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_01]: The moral gray area is not gone.
[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like,
[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_01]: now he's going to be truly fully working for Rhaenyra.
[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: He's still going to do some cleanest shit.
[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry.
[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Don't worry.
[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_03]: He's there.
[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Hold that thought.
[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: He'll be back.
[01:02:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_03]: one other person we haven't talked about,
[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: we,
[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: well,
[01:02:32] [SPEAKER_03]: one scene we haven't talked about,
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Corliss goes and talks to the final bastard,
[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_03]: the remaining bastard,
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: in the,
[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: in the show that we have yet to address,
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Alan of whole,
[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and Corliss goes to Alan like,
[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey,
[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I know you're about to take off and go on your voyage and your new role.
[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Just want to let you know,
[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_03]: like from a dad standpoint,
[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been talking to your crew.
[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't,
[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_03]: you don't really inspire like leadership.
[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: you're not giving that kind of vibe to them.
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't really,
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_03]: you don't really know if you're likable or not.
[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't really,
[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: it's really hard to get people to follow you.
[01:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: He's trying to give him some,
[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_03]: some helpful tips and tools,
[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: some fatherly advice.
[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_03]: And rightfully so Alan shuts it down.
[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I love this moment so much.
[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_03]: That man was acting Mark.
[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause you could tell he was sick.
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_03]: He was sick of Corliss as shit.
[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Like bro,
[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_03]: you want me to be grateful that you are telling me this kind of stuff right now?
[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Sir,
[01:03:28] [SPEAKER_03]: where have you been?
[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Dog.
[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Where have you been?
[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Crumbs.
[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_01]: don't you come here and try to help me because you don't got nobody no more.
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: This is.
[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Mari.
[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_03]: He said your other son dead.
[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Your other daughter dead.
[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Your wife dead.
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And now you come crawling back to me.
[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_03]: He didn't have to do all that.
[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Like he did.
[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes,
[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_03]: he did.
[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah,
[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_03]: he did.
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah,
[01:03:59] [SPEAKER_03]: he did.
[01:03:59] [SPEAKER_03]: The man told me,
[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been watching you raise these rich kids your whole life.
[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been out here starving.
[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: We've been.
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: hunger feel like.
[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah,
[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm broke.
[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm broke,
[01:04:12] [SPEAKER_03]: nigga.
[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_03]: He said,
[01:04:17] [SPEAKER_03]: bro,
[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: look around,
[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: dog.
[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: We broke.
[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_03]: We ain't got it like that,
[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_03]: dog.
[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm done.
[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I might edit that out.
[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari,
[01:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: what is Corliss trying to make up for lost time here?
[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah,
[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: he is like,
[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_01]: again,
[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: and Rainy's herself,
[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_01]: like said,
[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: raise him up,
[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: raise him up.
[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: That was her last like words to him.
[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
[01:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Corliss has nobody.
[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_01]: He Corliss has worried.
[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: It's weird because Corliss has worried about his legacy for the longest.
[01:04:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he didn't like,
[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_01]: he worried about his legacy more in season one.
[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: When he had a legacy.
[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Like air.
[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was like season two,
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: it was always Rainy's like,
[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_01]: what about the,
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_01]: what about the airs?
[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: What about the,
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: the legacy?
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_01]: It was her who was like harping on it.
[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And he was like,
[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_01]: no,
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: we good.
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_01]: She's like,
[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: we going to war.
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like,
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: we good.
[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: We got it.
[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like,
[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: even though you're anyways,
[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: he's just finally thinking of that.
[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: He's finally thinking of his legacy.
[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he said,
[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: in season one,
[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: it is not the blood that the history books talk about.
[01:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's the names,
[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_01]: the names that,
[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_01]: that are important.
[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So,
[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: he,
[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: this is the last of his family.
[01:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think he just wants to see them do well now.
[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just,
[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Alan is not having it.
[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: And rightfully so.
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like,
[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_01]: it's been years.
[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you,
[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know if you can call him a deadbeat.
[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's been dipping in and out because I don't even think that's really true.
[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's gotta be tough,
[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_03]: right?
[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_03]: To watch somebody else live the life that you know,
[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_03]: you should be living or see somebody else give the things that's supposed to go to you,
[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_03]: to somebody else.
[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's not like poor,
[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: poor Alan.
[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like Alan didn't know this was his daddy.
[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_03]: First of all,
[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_03]: they look just like,
[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and then two,
[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_03]: before,
[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: before Alan was bald,
[01:06:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure there was nice blonde hairs growing out of his black ass head.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:06:24] [SPEAKER_03]: So he's been shaving his head.
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Last week.
[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: he shaved his head in that one episode.
[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to imagine when he was a kid,
[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_03]: he wasn't shaving his head.
[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe it's,
[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe it's,
[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what I'm saying?
[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Like he didn't evolve into a Valerian or whatever,
[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_03]: like,
[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_03]: he'd been having them gray,
[01:06:45] [SPEAKER_03]: them silver hairs coming out of his head.
[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_03]: This man didn't know,
[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_03]: been knowing he was from nobility and hasn't been able to do nothing about it.
[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So now give me more of this.
[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I need more of this.
[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Alan was active,
[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_03]: man.
[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Give him his credit.
[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't need your help.
[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Hey.
[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_03]: And then he told him,
[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and when it's over,
[01:07:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I quit.
[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going back to being,
[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't want to work for you no more dad.
[01:07:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Such a good episode.
[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_03]: The last person I'll talk about,
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and I,
[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and I will talk about it briefly before we talk about our last scene.
[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh,
[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: well,
[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_03]: let's,
[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_03]: well,
[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah,
[01:07:21] [SPEAKER_03]: let's just jump right to the last scene.
[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_03]: The last scene of the episode,
[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_03]: everybody's marching off to battle.
[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_03]: We see the Lannisters coming from the Riverlands,
[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_03]: the Hightower's from the Reach,
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_03]: the Starks are coming from the North,
[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_03]: the Triarchy's sailing,
[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_03]: the Sea Snakes are going to meet them at sea.
[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Damon has his army in the Riverlands.
[01:07:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Raina?
[01:07:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Has been just stumbling throughout this whole episode.
[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I put in my notes,
[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_03]: if they show Raina one more time,
[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_03]: laying on the ground,
[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_03]: crying and drinking water off the,
[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_03]: out the pond and stuff,
[01:07:48] [SPEAKER_03]: but she found it.
[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_03]: She found her dragon,
[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Were you happy that we finally got a conclusion to Raina out here in the
[01:07:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Vale?
[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_01]: yes.
[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: it was like,
[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I knew what was going to happen.
[01:07:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was kind of like,
[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_01]: it was cute.
[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Or whatever.
[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: No,
[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: no.
[01:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I love,
[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I love this in a sense of like,
[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: it shows you how desperate Raina is.
[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_01]: She,
[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_01]: we've always heard like Raina,
[01:08:15] [SPEAKER_01]: we've seen it like since season one,
[01:08:17] [SPEAKER_01]: like Raina's like,
[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_01]: always felt some type of way that she doesn't command a dragon.
[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: She always feels that type of way.
[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And so her running through the veil,
[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_01]: like drinking mountain water,
[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: sleeping out by rocks.
[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It's cold.
[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: She looked disheveled and she run up on sheep stealer.
[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was so funny because she runs up on sheep stealer.
[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like,
[01:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: dang,
[01:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: sheep stealer looks scraggly.
[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I said,
[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_01]: why does she look scraggly?
[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: He's like,
[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: she be running outside.
[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: not her.
[01:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: They both looked raggedy by the time they saw each other.
[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was,
[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_01]: that was a cute moment.
[01:08:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I liked it.
[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I did.
[01:08:59] [SPEAKER_03]: It took a long time for them to get there.
[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I really was tired of the little cutaways to Raina out here.
[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_03]: And just struggling.
[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause let's just give her the dragon y'all.
[01:09:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But she,
[01:09:07] [SPEAKER_03]: she has sheep stealer.
[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_03]: And so that would be another dragon on the side of team black.
[01:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: If she is able to command sheep stealer and then join the war alongside all the people
[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: that we already talked about.
[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: We do see a small clip of Otto Hightower is in a cell.
[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Who threw Otto in jail?
[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[01:09:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm genuinely confused.
[01:09:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I said,
[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[01:09:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Otto?
[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I was so excited to see him.
[01:09:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know anymore.
[01:09:43] [SPEAKER_01]: You go to the function.
[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,
[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: where's,
[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: where's Otto?
[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_01]: he got,
[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_01]: he doing it.
[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_01]: He's still locked up.
[01:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like he got,
[01:09:48] [SPEAKER_01]: we don't know.
[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Again?
[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I've been waiting on Otto to come back all season.
[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_03]: You mean to tell me we haven't seen this man since what?
[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Episode two?
[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:09:58] [SPEAKER_03]: was it two?
[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.
[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Was it two?
[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It's been forever.
[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Been forever.
[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't know where Otto has been.
[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't know why he's locked up,
[01:10:10] [SPEAKER_03]: but I think it's safe to say that he will be back in season three.
[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Now that we know that he's alive.
[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: He's alive.
[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:10:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[01:10:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I got nothing on the Otto front.
[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Larry.
[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Could have been Larys locked him up?
[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Well,
[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Larry's we see Larry's and aim,
[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_03]: a gun are taken off into the forest,
[01:10:29] [SPEAKER_03]: but it didn't,
[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_03]: we couldn't,
[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I couldn't tell if those scenes were connected.
[01:10:32] [SPEAKER_03]: If a gun and Larry's and,
[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and,
[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and then also the auto clip are related because of course,
[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't,
[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how I would feel about his grandchild running away and hiding.
[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So if he's with,
[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_03]: if they're going to go meet up with Otto at any point,
[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_03]: that would probably be bad for Larys.
[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I think,
[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: because Otto would obviously want to advise a gun and be his number one trusted
[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_03]: source of information and counsel.
[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_03]: he's not just going to let Larys run his,
[01:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: his,
[01:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: his legacy.
[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:10:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So he's going to say something or do something eventually.
[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and so I don't know where the hell,
[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Otto is,
[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: but you're right.
[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe,
[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe Larys got him locked up so he didn't come back and become the new
[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_03]: hand.
[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_01]: That was the only thing I could,
[01:11:11] [SPEAKER_01]: really think of.
[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah,
[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_01]: that was,
[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: that was nuts bananas,
[01:11:16] [SPEAKER_01]: but this is like,
[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_01]: so this kind of scene here,
[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_01]: this last scene where you just seen everybody's soon up,
[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_01]: it was in the scenes for the next episode.
[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So last week,
[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: so last week after the,
[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_01]: the episode went off and then the scenes for the next episode,
[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I DM war dog.
[01:11:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I DM grace.
[01:11:37] [SPEAKER_01]: What the fuck?
[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Couldn't be a business.
[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause this don't make sense.
[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure enough.
[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_03]: They got a lot of buildup.
[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah,
[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: exactly.
[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they did.
[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,
[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_01]: they did that specifically.
[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_01]: so that they could put it in the trailer.
[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Just a cliffhanger,
[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: which is,
[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_01]: huh.
[01:11:59] [SPEAKER_03]: It's dirty business.
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Nasty,
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_03]: nasty business.
[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_03]: one other thing I wanted to flag up from seeing,
[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:12:05] [SPEAKER_03]: these,
[01:12:05] [SPEAKER_03]: these little clips in these last moment of everybody's suiting up and
[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_03]: getting ready to go to war is that we do see,
[01:12:12] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_03]: another dragon.
[01:12:14] [SPEAKER_03]: We see another dragon flying off to war.
[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm assuming because we've talked about him so much.
[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Dayron.
[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Dayron.
[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Is this Dayron on this?
[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Why?
[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Well,
[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: how come?
[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Dayron's not even mentioned about eight times this season.
[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_03]: We have not even met the actor who plays Dayron yet,
[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_03]: but I'm pretty sure.
[01:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: They've even casted him.
[01:12:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me see.
[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm pretty sure we saw his dragon flying off,
[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_03]: at some point at the,
[01:12:41] [SPEAKER_03]: in that last little clip,
[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_03]: as well.
[01:12:44] [SPEAKER_03]: So.
[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm saying.
[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like when I tell you,
[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Chappelle,
[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I know me and Wardog talked about it,
[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_01]: but they had three,
[01:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: they had three battles that they could.
[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_01]: From a pair.
[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Like.
[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Not wait,
[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: not even three.
[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_01]: They four,
[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_01]: four.
[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Technically the battle of the red fork,
[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_01]: like.
[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_01]: That is.
[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So we talked all season about,
[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like,
[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_01]: they are doing a good job of setting stuff up.
[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you said,
[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: they talked about Dayron's ass.
[01:13:10] [SPEAKER_01]: They,
[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_01]: we had all the nim scattered.
[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_01]: We had Jason.
[01:13:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Over.
[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: getting gearing up for the battle of the red fork.
[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they,
[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_01]: it's.
[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_01]: They set so much stuff up.
[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Just to leave it for next season.
[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like,
[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: what is the point?
[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Because by the time next season comes newsflash,
[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_01]: people are not going to remember this stuff.
[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_01]: No,
[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm definitely not going to remember this stuff two years from now.
[01:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's all,
[01:13:35] [SPEAKER_03]: the whole thing drops.
[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:13:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_03]: do you think they did a good enough job of wanting people,
[01:13:42] [SPEAKER_03]: people wanting more?
[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Are people going to watch this finale and say,
[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll be back,
[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: in two years?
[01:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Or are some people going to say two years from now?
[01:13:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I just don't care.
[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_03]: What do you think?
[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_01]: we're going to do what we all do at game and throw.
[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_01]: This is like,
[01:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: complain,
[01:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: complain.
[01:13:58] [SPEAKER_01]: She'll show up.
[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to.
[01:14:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Same old shit.
[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Same old shit.
[01:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It said it was a cliffhanger.
[01:14:08] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to forget about it in a few months and we'll be right back at it in two years.
[01:14:13] [SPEAKER_01]: But,
[01:14:13] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: we still going to be mad for a little bit.
[01:14:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to complain here.
[01:14:18] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be there.
[01:14:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to be there.
[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Look,
[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: what do you say?
[01:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to talk.
[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_03]: But when he,
[01:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: when he leaves,
[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to keep talking.
[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to keep,
[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll be quiet.
[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_03]: When he leaves,
[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to keep talking.
[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah,
[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_03]: but I'm,
[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[01:14:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Two years from now.
[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_03]: 2026 is when we're.
[01:14:36] [SPEAKER_03]: The next iteration of this.
[01:14:38] [SPEAKER_03]: And you,
[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_03]: you've read the books.
[01:14:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Tell me.
[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_03]: How many seasons?
[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_03]: How many two year periods are we going to have to do this for?
[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Are we going to be doing this for the next eight years?
[01:14:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_01]: so they originally said in season one,
[01:14:53] [SPEAKER_01]: they originally said it was getting four seasons.
[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_01]: How they ended this season.
[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_01]: They can,
[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_01]: they can reasonably get five.
[01:15:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And again,
[01:15:05] [SPEAKER_01]: that's depending on how they,
[01:15:07] [SPEAKER_01]: where,
[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_01]: not how,
[01:15:09] [SPEAKER_01]: where they end this.
[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Because again,
[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_01]: it's an ongoing history,
[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_01]: even after the dance ends,
[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_01]: after the,
[01:15:16] [SPEAKER_01]: the war war ends.
[01:15:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause you still have,
[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_01]: just like most wars,
[01:15:20] [SPEAKER_01]: like reconstruction and stuff like that.
[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So.
[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Like.
[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_01]: They truly could,
[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: could,
[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_01]: could probably squeeze five out.
[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if they squeeze this one,
[01:15:34] [SPEAKER_01]: especially if there's eight episodes going forward and not the 10,
[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_01]: they can squeeze five,
[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_01]: but.
[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So far.
[01:15:41] [SPEAKER_01]: They're just good for four.
[01:15:43] I can't,
[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't,
[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: my attention span too short,
[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari.
[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if I can do this for 10 years.
[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:15:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Again,
[01:15:50] [SPEAKER_03]: like again,
[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_03]: really?
[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's it.
[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: That's season two,
[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_03]: episode eight,
[01:15:56] [SPEAKER_03]: the finale of hot.
[01:15:59] [SPEAKER_03]: The house of the dragon season to Mari.
[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_03]: That was great.
[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_03]: We had so much fun talking about it for all our listeners.
[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you all for keeping up,
[01:16:08] [SPEAKER_03]: for tapping in,
[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: for giving us so much feedback.
[01:16:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Is there anything else you want to add about this episode before we get to
[01:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: the book club?
[01:16:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
[01:16:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm good.
[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
[01:16:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Nothing else.
[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
[01:16:23] [SPEAKER_03]: So if you do not want to hear spoilery stuff from the book about,
[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_03]: kind of where we are in the same area of the book in the same timeline,
[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_03]: then feel free to tap out.
[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Now you can catch us next week on recap,

[01:17:28] [SPEAKER_03]: it's time for one last time.
[01:17:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Maester Mari's book club,
[01:17:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Maester Mari,
[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: take it away.
[01:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: What do we have in this episode that you want to talk about in comparison to the
[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_03]: books?
[01:17:41] [SPEAKER_01]: First off,
[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I just want to say,
[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I just went back and looked at game of Thrones,
[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_01]: like release date.
[01:17:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Game of Thrones did not take two years,
[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_01]: every season.
[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Like it was just the last,
[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_01]: it was just the last few seasons.
[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_01]: That was like one longer wait.
[01:17:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Then first initial ones,
[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: the first four or five,
[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_01]: it was every year.
[01:17:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Like anyway,
[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_01]: plan in our faces,
[01:18:02] [SPEAKER_01]: plan in our faces for real in front of myself.
[01:18:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: so,
[01:18:08] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:18:09] [SPEAKER_01]: book club,
[01:18:10] [SPEAKER_01]: few things.
[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: the reason why I said the Thailand Lannister stuff was filler is because
[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: it's completely made up.
[01:18:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh no.
[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_01]: In the book,
[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Otto Hightower is the one who gets the triarchy on side and all he does is write a letter.
[01:18:31] [SPEAKER_03]: You just write three,
[01:18:31] [SPEAKER_03]: my dog,
[01:18:32] [SPEAKER_03]: three,
[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_03]: my dog.
[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_03]: See,
[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_03]: this is what I'm talking about.
[01:18:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Y'all done locked up Otto so Thailand can go out here and sing for these,
[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_03]: triarchy people.
[01:18:39] [SPEAKER_03]: That song was hilarious too.
[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Like I was like,
[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh no.
[01:18:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_01]: So like it was,
[01:18:45] [SPEAKER_01]: it was during that time where Agon's like,
[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: why are you writing letters?
[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: I want,
[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you know,
[01:18:51] [SPEAKER_01]: that's when Thailand wrote to the triarchy,
[01:18:53] [SPEAKER_01]: got them to agree to break the blockade.
[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So that was like this time stuff is fun,
[01:18:59] [SPEAKER_01]: but it was like really pat.
[01:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like,
[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:19:01] [SPEAKER_01]: we're Oh,
[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_01]: another segment.
[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_01]: All right.
[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_01]: This isn't looking good.
[01:19:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And like,
[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I started to realize,
[01:19:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I was like,
[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_01]: we're not going to get any,
[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought,
[01:19:11] [SPEAKER_01]: okay,
[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe we'll get one battle.
[01:19:13] [SPEAKER_01]: No,
[01:19:14] [SPEAKER_01]: they said no battles for you.
[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:19:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:19:17] [SPEAKER_01]: you were right about the,
[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_01]: the episode was very good,
[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_01]: but for a finale,
[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_01]: it just leaves you wanting a lot more.
[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_01]: we,
[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_03]: we should have had one battle after this.
[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Like,
[01:19:29] [SPEAKER_03]: show me like a cliffhanger in a battle or something like that to where I got the magnitude of all the politicking that we saw.
[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_03]: We saw the Avengers come together,
[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: each side,
[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: assembling their teams and then had them start a fight at least or something like that.
[01:19:44] [SPEAKER_03]: But to leave us like,
[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_03]: all right,
[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess they're going to fight two years from now.
[01:19:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Bruh.
[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Bruh.
[01:19:50] [SPEAKER_03]: You know?
[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So,
[01:19:52] [SPEAKER_03]: so you said there were four battles that would have happened by this time in the book that we really didn't talk about much throughout this season.
[01:19:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I know one was the burning meal.
[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_03]: We,
[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_03]: they,
[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_03]: they gloss over it very quickly where that could have probably been its own battle.
[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_03]: What were the other ones that you were talking about?
[01:20:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,
[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah,
[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't even counting burning meal,
[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_01]: honestly.
[01:20:11] [SPEAKER_03]: That one,
[01:20:11] [SPEAKER_03]: that could,
[01:20:12] [SPEAKER_03]: they actually kind of showed it,
[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_03]: but yeah.
[01:20:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's,
[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_01]: at this time period,
[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_01]: you have the battle of the red fork,
[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_01]: which,
[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Wardog so graciously reminded me of because like I was saying,
[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a lot of small skirmishes.
[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why I thought maybe going into this episode,
[01:20:28] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe they'll like put two small skirmishes in one episode.
[01:20:31] [SPEAKER_01]: No,
[01:20:31] [SPEAKER_01]: got no skirmishes.
[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_01]: battle of the red fork where something major does happen,
[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_01]: but it is a very forgetful battle.
[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: We also have,
[01:20:40] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:20:40] [SPEAKER_01]: the battle of the gullet,
[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_01]: which is actually a very big battle.
[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:20:45] [SPEAKER_01]: which is coming.
[01:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It seems.
[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is coming.
[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: because that's where they break.
[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That's where they're trying to break the,
[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:20:53] [SPEAKER_01]: the,
[01:20:53] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:20:54] [SPEAKER_01]: blockade.
[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: there's the battle of the honey wine,
[01:20:58] [SPEAKER_01]: which is where Daeron and Tessarian make their day,
[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_01]: they debut,
[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_01]: on the side of the high tower host.
[01:21:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the fourth battle,
[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I am not going to tell you the name of it.
[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it gives a lot of way.
[01:21:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So,
[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_01]: and that,
[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_01]: that battle is what I going into this season thought we were going to end on.
[01:21:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Um,
[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_01]: but we did not get it.
[01:21:22] [SPEAKER_03]: But we did not.
[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Well,
[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_03]: they,
[01:21:28] [SPEAKER_03]: they're trying to leave a lot of this stuff,
[01:21:30] [SPEAKER_03]: obviously for either,
[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: well,
[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_03]: just they've glossed past a lot of it,
[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_03]: but also leaving something for the future.
[01:21:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[01:21:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Two years from now with the viewership that they have,
[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I,
[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_03]: we talk about the CGI a lot in the,
[01:21:42] [SPEAKER_03]: in the show and how much it costs to put dragons on the screen,
[01:21:44] [SPEAKER_03]: but we got to have at least two or three dragon fights next season.
[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_03]: That doesn't make any sense for us to wait two years.
[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_03]: And we not going to have at least two.
[01:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: we got one dragon fight in this whole season.
[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_03]: We saw dragons burning some stuff.
[01:21:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't make,
[01:21:58] [SPEAKER_03]: don't get me wrong.
[01:21:58] [SPEAKER_03]: They were,
[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_03]: there were dragons,
[01:22:00] [SPEAKER_03]: but we got one fight.
[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_03]: You mean to tell me we're going to wait two years to see one more dragon
[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_03]: fight.
[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like there needs to be more.
[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_03]: There's like six dragons in play.
[01:22:07] Yeah.
[01:22:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: There.
[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: There's,
[01:22:12] [SPEAKER_01]: there's like at least like three big,
[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_01]: big dragon fights like coming up.
[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Now,
[01:22:19] [SPEAKER_01]: how many they're going to put in season two?
[01:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if we're,
[01:22:22] [SPEAKER_01]: if we're talking like dragon on dragon crime here.
[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_01]: There's about like,
[01:22:26] [SPEAKER_01]: at least three.
[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_01]: So we,
[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_01]: we might get two of them.
[01:22:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe like,
[01:22:33] [SPEAKER_01]: it's hard.
[01:22:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Like the timeline is very hard.
[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_01]: There's all,
[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a few,
[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_01]: again,
[01:22:41] [SPEAKER_01]: a few scrimmishes where there's one dragon present,
[01:22:43] [SPEAKER_01]: but not another one.
[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But you're right.
[01:22:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:22:47] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like they,
[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_01]: we need more dragons.
[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Well,
[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I want more dragons.
[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_01]: You said,
[01:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: you,
[01:22:52] [SPEAKER_01]: you said you didn't.
[01:22:53] [SPEAKER_03]: It's not my,
[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not why I come here,
[01:22:55] [SPEAKER_03]: but I definitely would like some dragon.
[01:22:57] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_03]: House of the dragon.
[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_03]: And then it's just,
[01:23:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[01:23:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Succession.
[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:23:04] [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:23:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_01]: what are we getting?
[01:23:06] [SPEAKER_01]: They snuck in this like,
[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_01]: sheep stealer in here.
[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Like we saw smoke and,
[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: and Craxes and Cyrax.
[01:23:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:23:13] [SPEAKER_01]: they,
[01:23:13] [SPEAKER_01]: it is crumbs,
[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_01]: but it's better than thrones.
[01:23:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:23:16] [SPEAKER_01]: it's true.
[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's true.
[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_03]: We went several years for dragons on thrones.
[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_03]: We had the little babies.
[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_03]: We had little eggs,
[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_03]: there was a long time before we heard,
[01:23:24] [SPEAKER_03]: we saw Dracarus,
[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Dracarus,
[01:23:26] [SPEAKER_03]: you know?
[01:23:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_03]: So.
[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Maury.
[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes,
[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_03]: be grateful.
[01:23:30] [SPEAKER_03]: We got our email from Tia.
[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:23:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I wanted to read that to you as well,
[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_03]: before we get off the topic of dragons too much.
[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Tia said,
[01:23:37] [SPEAKER_03]: this might be spoilery.
[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So again,
[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_03]: if y'all are opposed to that kind of thing,
[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_03]: fast forward to maybe like 10 seconds or so.
[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:23:42] [SPEAKER_03]: but she wants to know,
[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_03]: does Aegon get another dragon if Sunfire is dead?
[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_03]: She thought,
[01:23:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Rhaenyra had mentioned that one of the dragons
[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_03]: that were in the fight with,
[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:23:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Maylis,
[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_03]: when she fought both Sunfire and Vhagar
[01:23:51] [SPEAKER_03]: was no longer alive.
[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:23:55] [SPEAKER_03]: and she thinks that she was talking to maybe like to Jace
[01:23:57] [SPEAKER_03]: in her little office,
[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_03]: don't quote me on that.
[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_03]: but she says,
[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm asking because she heard a YouTube video,
[01:24:02] [SPEAKER_03]: or actually a Game of Thrones,
[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_03]: that,
[01:24:04] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:24:04] [SPEAKER_03]: reference that Aegon,
[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe,
[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:24:08] [SPEAKER_03]: uses his dragon later on,
[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I will say.
[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:24:11] [SPEAKER_03]: so do you think the show will allow this to happen?
[01:24:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Or will they continue to,
[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_03]: to kind of gloss over the whole Sunfire thing?
[01:24:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I think Aegon mentioned Sunfire as being dead in this episode,
[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_03]: didn't he?
[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_03]: He did.
[01:24:23] [SPEAKER_03]: He did.
[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was-
[01:24:25] [SPEAKER_01]: He said it defensively.
[01:24:26] [SPEAKER_01]: He did.
[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And I was a little surprised by that.
[01:24:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking,
[01:24:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still holding out hope that Sunfire isn't dead.
[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[01:24:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Because-
[01:24:37] [SPEAKER_01]: He,
[01:24:38] [SPEAKER_01]: some,
[01:24:38] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[01:24:39] [SPEAKER_01]: not even holding out hope.
[01:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I,
[01:24:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think,
[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_01]: I just think Aegon thinks he's dead because,
[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_01]: it was the last thing that happened.
[01:24:48] Right.
[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:24:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you now we're in the spoiler corner and,
[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: so,
[01:24:52] [SPEAKER_01]: and this part kind of already passed.
[01:24:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_01]: so Sunfire stays on the battlefield.
[01:24:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And I,
[01:25:00] [SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about this with War Dog.
[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: He,
[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: he eats all the dead bodies around him.
[01:25:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:25:06] [SPEAKER_01]: and he eventually,
[01:25:08] [SPEAKER_01]: he eventually gets strong enough that he does,
[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_01]: even though his wing was like broken and like half hanging off,
[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_01]: he does end up being able to,
[01:25:16] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:25:17] [SPEAKER_01]: fly aloft again.
[01:25:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah,
[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_01]: he does.
[01:25:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And so we,
[01:25:23] [SPEAKER_01]: you know how we see Larys escape with Aegon?
[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:25:28] [SPEAKER_01]: in the book,
[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Aegon and Sunfire actually escape.
[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[01:25:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.
[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Because I mean,
[01:25:35] [SPEAKER_03]: if Sunfire ain't dead,
[01:25:37] [SPEAKER_03]: where's Sunfire?
[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:25:38] [SPEAKER_03]: it'd be hard to miss a dragon just laying out in the field somewhere.
[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure other people would see it.
[01:25:44] [SPEAKER_01]: In the book,
[01:25:45] [SPEAKER_01]: like in,
[01:25:45] [SPEAKER_01]: in Sir Christian Cole said it,
[01:25:47] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:25:47] [SPEAKER_01]: in that fifth episode after the big battle,
[01:25:50] [SPEAKER_01]: he,
[01:25:50] [SPEAKER_01]: he left the garrison to,
[01:25:52] [SPEAKER_01]: to protect Sunfire.
[01:25:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So they,
[01:25:55] [SPEAKER_01]: there,
[01:25:56] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a whole bunch of,
[01:25:57] [SPEAKER_01]: of,
[01:25:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:25:59] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:25:59] [SPEAKER_01]: some nights that are supposed to be there to make sure nobody messes with
[01:26:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Sunfire while he,
[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_01]: while he,
[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:26:04] [SPEAKER_01]: regains his strength.
[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And the reason that we know Sunfire is gone because when Rhaenyra's,
[01:26:10] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:26:11] [SPEAKER_01]: armies do start to march,
[01:26:13] [SPEAKER_01]: some of her retinue breaks off to go,
[01:26:15] [SPEAKER_01]: to go and try and finish off Sunfire.
[01:26:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And they go to where he was last seen and he's not there anymore.
[01:26:22] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's how we know that Sunfire eventually ends up flying again.
[01:26:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Because in the book,
[01:26:28] [SPEAKER_01]: it's a mystery in the book.
[01:26:29] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a mystery in the book.
[01:26:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like Sunfire is gone.
[01:26:32] [SPEAKER_01]: The book is like,
[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_01]: wait,
[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Aegon's gone.
[01:26:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Where'd they go?
[01:26:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And so you,
[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_01]: you assume they're together.
[01:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: So,
[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_01]: to answer Tia's question,
[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I really hope,
[01:26:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I keep saying,
[01:26:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope they're like,
[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_01]: like technically Sunfire cannot be dead.
[01:26:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Like Sunfire can't be dead.
[01:26:52] [SPEAKER_01]: He can't be dead.
[01:26:53] [SPEAKER_03]: He just gotta be alive.
[01:26:54] [SPEAKER_03]: He gotta be alive.
[01:26:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Look,
[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_03]: we'll,
[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_03]: we'll take that for what you say.
[01:27:00] [SPEAKER_03]: You know,
[01:27:00] [SPEAKER_03]: like we don't want to get too,
[01:27:01] [SPEAKER_03]: too spoilery.
[01:27:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
[01:27:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:27:03] [SPEAKER_03]: but,
[01:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:27:04] [SPEAKER_03]: thank you to you for that feedback.
[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Again,
[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_03]: if you want to leave feedback or ask any questions,
[01:27:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_03]: it's the off season,
[01:27:08] [SPEAKER_03]: but Mario and I will still be back every week for our recap kickback.
[01:27:11] [SPEAKER_03]: And so if you have any questions about ID,
[01:27:13] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe we'll do a Q and a or something like that.
[01:27:15] [SPEAKER_03]: If we get enough questions,
[01:27:17] [SPEAKER_03]: you can send your questions to recap,
[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_03]: recap,
[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_03]: recap,
[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_03]: kickback,
[01:27:19] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:27:19] [SPEAKER_03]: at gmail.com for any direct,
[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_03]: emails or questions that you have about the series.
[01:27:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You can also message us on Instagram,
[01:27:29] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:27:29] [SPEAKER_03]: at recap,
[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_03]: kickback or on Twitter at recap,
[01:27:32] [SPEAKER_03]: kickback,
[01:27:32] [SPEAKER_03]: DM us and let us know that you have a question and you want us to bring it up on the podcast.
[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_03]: And like I said,
[01:27:36] [SPEAKER_03]: if we get enough,
[01:27:37] [SPEAKER_03]: then maybe we'll,
[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_03]: we'll do a whole little Q and a portion,
[01:27:40] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:27:41] [SPEAKER_03]: for this kind of thing.
[01:27:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Amari.
[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Is there anything else from the episode that stood out?
[01:27:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:27:47] [SPEAKER_01]: A few more things,
[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_01]: real quick.
[01:27:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Raina,
[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_01]: we,
[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_01]: we said it with Wardog.
[01:27:51] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure Raina is not the original writer of,
[01:27:54] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:27:55] [SPEAKER_01]: sheep stealer in the book.
[01:27:57] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a character called Nettles who they,
[01:28:00] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:28:00] [SPEAKER_01]: apparently are skipping.
[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_01]: which sucks because Nettles is technically in the book.
[01:28:05] [SPEAKER_01]: She is the only like black character in the book.
[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Technically she's actually written as a black character and she,
[01:28:12] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_01]: she claims sheep stealer by bringing him a sheep every day for like a few,
[01:28:17] [SPEAKER_01]: few days.
[01:28:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they think,
[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_01]: they think,
[01:28:20] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_01]: they think Nettles doesn't even have Targaryen blood at all.
[01:28:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Like no Valerian.
[01:28:27] [SPEAKER_01]: She just,
[01:28:28] [SPEAKER_01]: she just good at like,
[01:28:30] [SPEAKER_01]: she does bring in the sheep.
[01:28:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Helps her dragon.
[01:28:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:28:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
[01:28:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_01]: That,
[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_01]: that,
[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what the book is hints at because they're like Nettles is a little
[01:28:42] [SPEAKER_01]: brown girl.
[01:28:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:28:43] [SPEAKER_01]: whose skin was dark,
[01:28:45] [SPEAKER_01]: hair was dark,
[01:28:46] [SPEAKER_01]: everything was dark,
[01:28:47] [SPEAKER_01]: but she managed to get sheep stealer on side by giving him a freshly
[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_01]: slaughtered sheep every day.
[01:28:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[01:28:54] [SPEAKER_03]: And then,
[01:28:54] [SPEAKER_03]: and I think that's fun about the book too,
[01:28:56] [SPEAKER_03]: because we know like the books aren't completely accurate as far as like
[01:28:59] [SPEAKER_03]: how the events actually happen.
[01:29:00] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's more plausible that she probably is just a Targaryen descent
[01:29:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and they just don't know it.
[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Like they can't figure out how,
[01:29:07] [SPEAKER_03]: because I mean,
[01:29:07] [SPEAKER_03]: think about it.
[01:29:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Everything we've been told about the dragons is there.
[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You have to have this blood.
[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_03]: The dragon has to choose you.
[01:29:12] [SPEAKER_03]: And now all of a sudden it's like,
[01:29:13] [SPEAKER_03]: oh,
[01:29:13] [SPEAKER_03]: you can feed it.
[01:29:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:29:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Nah,
[01:29:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't like that.
[01:29:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't like that.
[01:29:16] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,
[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_01]: what do you choose?
[01:29:18] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like,
[01:29:19] [SPEAKER_01]: do you choose that?
[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe she does have some Targaryen blood and stuff.
[01:29:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Or do you choose like maybe the Targaryens in this,
[01:29:26] [SPEAKER_01]: they made this up to be self-important and to claim.
[01:29:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:29:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is what Jace struggled with all episode.
[01:29:34] [SPEAKER_01]: So they're fusing Reyna's story with Nettles,
[01:29:38] [SPEAKER_01]: which I mean.
[01:29:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[01:29:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's okay.
[01:29:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:29:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I like,
[01:29:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I like that they're,
[01:29:46] [SPEAKER_01]: they're incorporating like Reyna and Bela more and Jace,
[01:29:50] [SPEAKER_01]: because at this point they're like all 14.
[01:29:53] [SPEAKER_01]: In the books and stuff.
[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So I like this.
[01:29:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I like seeing like,
[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: again,
[01:29:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Reyna's grit and determination to find Sheepstealer and stuff like that.
[01:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And then finally,
[01:30:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Helena.
[01:30:06] [SPEAKER_01]: You're here.
[01:30:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So that means you like spoilers.
[01:30:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You here.
[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: So that means you like spoilers.
[01:30:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Again,
[01:30:11] [SPEAKER_03]: this is another,
[01:30:12] [SPEAKER_03]: another warning.
[01:30:13] [SPEAKER_03]: It's spoilery.
[01:30:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's go,
[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Mara.
[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Helena did her predictions.
[01:30:17] [SPEAKER_01]: She said,
[01:30:19] [SPEAKER_01]: if I,
[01:30:19] [SPEAKER_01]: and I,
[01:30:20] [SPEAKER_01]: not in a quote,
[01:30:21] [SPEAKER_01]: because that means I would have to get it.
[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Word for word,
[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_01]: but she basically says,
[01:30:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Aegon will be King again.
[01:30:26] [SPEAKER_01]: He will sit on a wooden throne.
[01:30:29] [SPEAKER_01]: You will be drowned.
[01:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: You will drown in the God's eye,
[01:30:32] [SPEAKER_01]: never to be found again.
[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_03]: You will,
[01:30:34] [SPEAKER_03]: you will be dead and swallowed up in God's eye and never be seen again.
[01:30:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:30:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Helena just told y'all the whole rest of the show.
[01:30:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:30:44] [SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
[01:30:45] [SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
[01:30:45] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the game.
[01:30:46] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the game.
[01:30:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like,
[01:30:47] [SPEAKER_03]: damn,
[01:30:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Helena.
[01:30:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I knew that was coming.
[01:30:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I knew that was coming.
[01:30:50] [SPEAKER_03]: That's why I have the quote in my notes.
[01:30:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause I was like,
[01:30:52] [SPEAKER_03]: damn Helena.
[01:30:53] [SPEAKER_03]: She said,
[01:30:53] [SPEAKER_03]: listen,
[01:30:54] [SPEAKER_03]: you,
[01:30:54] [SPEAKER_03]: you're going to lose this.
[01:30:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:30:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Alice Rivers did tell Damon he was going to die at Heron Hall too.
[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_03]: So,
[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:30:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I guess they don't,
[01:31:00] [SPEAKER_03]: these people who can see,
[01:31:01] [SPEAKER_03]: be just really be snitching.
[01:31:02] [SPEAKER_03]: But,
[01:31:03] [SPEAKER_03]: um,
[01:31:03] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[01:31:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Helena told him,
[01:31:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I ain't worried about you.
[01:31:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause listen,
[01:31:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you right now how this is going to end for you.
[01:31:07] [SPEAKER_03]: These Sears,
[01:31:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Mari,
[01:31:09] [SPEAKER_03]: they're pretty fun to have in the show,
[01:31:11] [SPEAKER_03]: especially when they're better than brand.
[01:31:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Brand wasn't helping at all.
[01:31:14] [SPEAKER_03]: He wasn't.
[01:31:15] [SPEAKER_01]: He was just letting shit happen.
[01:31:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:31:18] [SPEAKER_01]: nope.
[01:31:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And then be like,
[01:31:19] [SPEAKER_01]: I seen it.
[01:31:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I seen that.
[01:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Like,
[01:31:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh sure.
[01:31:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Could you share with the class?
[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[01:31:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Of course you did brand.
[01:31:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:31:28] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah.
[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_03]: So,
[01:31:29] [SPEAKER_03]: so swallowed up into God's eye,
[01:31:31] [SPEAKER_03]: never seen again.
[01:31:32] [SPEAKER_03]: And you know,
[01:31:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what that means.
[01:31:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:31:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So I won't translate that part for you guys,
[01:31:39] [SPEAKER_03]: but we know,
[01:31:40] [SPEAKER_03]: we know I'm in Zion,
[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:31:42] [SPEAKER_03]: we know he's on the way out.
[01:31:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:31:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I've always looked at this,
[01:31:45] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:31:45] [SPEAKER_03]: story anyway,
[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Mario,
[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_03]: is that all these,
[01:31:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:31:47] [SPEAKER_03]: by the time we get to game of thrones,
[01:31:48] [SPEAKER_03]: they all be dead.
[01:31:49] [SPEAKER_03]: And so it's not like I was looking for like one team to be triumphant and the other
[01:31:52] [SPEAKER_03]: team to just be massacred.
[01:31:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm feeling like there's going to be losses on both sides,
[01:31:56] [SPEAKER_03]: you know?
[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
[01:31:58] [SPEAKER_01]: it is a dance with the dragons.
[01:31:59] [SPEAKER_01]: It is a war fought on dragon bat with armies.
[01:32:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Like this,
[01:32:06] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:32:06] [SPEAKER_01]: in the book,
[01:32:07] [SPEAKER_01]: they say they,
[01:32:08] [SPEAKER_01]: people call it the dance of the dragons because it's the Targaryen civil war,
[01:32:11] [SPEAKER_01]: but more people call it the dying of the dragons because by the time thones comes,
[01:32:17] [SPEAKER_01]: no dragon.
[01:32:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So that should tell you everything you need to know about how this is going to end in three
[01:32:29] [SPEAKER_01]: and two more seasons,
[01:32:31] [SPEAKER_01]: two or three more seasons.
[01:32:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:32:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Mara,
[01:32:35] [SPEAKER_03]: we got some other good feedback on Instagram,
[01:32:36] [SPEAKER_03]: our Instagram page.
[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_03]: We got a message from Renee Murray,
[01:32:39] [SPEAKER_03]: who was talking about some of the other podcasts and stuff,
[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_03]: but also saying that,
[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_03]: she really enjoyed the podcast with Mara.
[01:32:45] [SPEAKER_03]: And it's so impressive to listen to you guys speak as a black woman.
[01:32:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I enjoy hearing y'all break down,
[01:32:49] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:32:50] [SPEAKER_03]: the house of the dragon.
[01:32:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:32:51] [SPEAKER_03]: so yeah,
[01:32:52] [SPEAKER_03]: thanks Renee for being a fan of the podcast,
[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_03]: for supporting,
[01:32:56] [SPEAKER_03]: for sending feedback.
[01:32:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Remember our Instagram page is still taking DMS as well.
[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_03]: let us know if you have any questions or concerns or anything you want us to talk about on the
[01:33:03] [SPEAKER_03]: podcast.
[01:33:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause it's been a great time talking about it with Mara.
[01:33:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Now,
[01:33:07] [SPEAKER_03]: one thing we haven't really discussed is that,
[01:33:08] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:33:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: although house of dragon will be back in two years,
[01:33:11] [SPEAKER_03]: we do have that spinoff coming in a year.
[01:33:13] [SPEAKER_03]: And so Mara,
[01:33:14] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah,
[01:33:14] [SPEAKER_03]: if you are down,
[01:33:15] [SPEAKER_03]: you know where I'll be.
[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Well,
[01:33:17] [SPEAKER_03]: you know where we'll be here on house of the dragon talking about a recap kickback
[01:33:20] [SPEAKER_03]: or the Westeros kickback.
[01:33:21] [SPEAKER_03]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:33:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Pencil it in.
[01:33:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Did you see at the beginning of the episode,
[01:33:25] [SPEAKER_01]: they showed,
[01:33:26] [SPEAKER_01]: um,
[01:33:26] [SPEAKER_01]: like,
[01:33:26] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:33:27] [SPEAKER_01]: a little trailer for it.
[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_03]: No,
[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:33:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd be skipping all that stuff.
[01:33:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
[01:33:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd be missing the after show stuff.
[01:33:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:33:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean,
[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd be missing the after show,
[01:33:36] [SPEAKER_03]: intro,
[01:33:36] [SPEAKER_03]: all that stuff.
[01:33:37] [SPEAKER_03]: The director's commentary.
[01:33:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I'd be missing all that stuff.
[01:33:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Next was like,
[01:33:40] [SPEAKER_01]: we know this is the finale.
[01:33:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So let us show you exactly everything that's coming in the next year.
[01:33:46] [SPEAKER_01]: So,
[01:33:46] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah.
[01:33:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:33:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh,
[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_01]: so they,
[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_01]: so they showed a lot of stuff.
[01:33:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Um,
[01:33:52] [SPEAKER_01]: uh,
[01:33:53] [SPEAKER_01]: the last of us coming back and stuff like that,
[01:33:55] [SPEAKER_01]: but yeah,
[01:33:55] [SPEAKER_01]: season two,
[01:33:56] [SPEAKER_01]: they showed a night of the seven kingdoms.
[01:33:58] [SPEAKER_01]: They showed footage of it.
[01:33:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
[01:33:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh,
[01:34:00] [SPEAKER_01]: just start.
[01:34:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:34:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
[01:34:01] [SPEAKER_01]: didn't,
[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I thought they just started filming.
[01:34:04] [SPEAKER_01]: They had to show us something Mark.
[01:34:06] [SPEAKER_01]: They had to,
[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_01]: they had to.
[01:34:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause they knew what they was about to do.
[01:34:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[01:34:13] [SPEAKER_01]: So let,
[01:34:14] [SPEAKER_01]: we don't be here.
[01:34:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to love it.
[01:34:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to love this story.
[01:34:17] [SPEAKER_01]: So.
[01:34:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Cool.
[01:34:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's do it.
[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_03]: So,
[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_03]: that it,
[01:34:21] [SPEAKER_03]: that wraps up our book club and that wraps up our coverage of house of the dragon season
[01:34:25] [SPEAKER_03]: two here on recap,
[01:34:27] [SPEAKER_03]: kickback the hot D the Westeros kickback.
[01:34:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Mario,
[01:34:30] [SPEAKER_03]: this has been so much fun.
[01:34:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for being here every week,
[01:34:34] [SPEAKER_03]: right after the show to talk about the show.
[01:34:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you all for leaving comments for,
[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_03]: you know,
[01:34:39] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:34:39] [SPEAKER_03]: liking sharing,
[01:34:40] [SPEAKER_03]: for letting people know to talk about the,
[01:34:42] [SPEAKER_03]: to come listen to us,
[01:34:43] [SPEAKER_03]: talk about this show.
[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:34:44] [SPEAKER_03]: thank you all for,
[01:34:46] [SPEAKER_03]: subscribing and joining the Facebook group and all that other cool stuff.
[01:34:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Cause Mario and I got a lot more content coming your way.
[01:34:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I got a lot more recap,
[01:34:54] [SPEAKER_03]: kickback content coming your way.
[01:34:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:34:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and we're going to try to keep everybody fed.
[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Like I said,
[01:34:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Belair is coming soon.
[01:34:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Pooja and I will be talking about that.
[01:35:00] [SPEAKER_03]: And then Mario and I got a brainstorm.
[01:35:02] [SPEAKER_03]: What are we going to be doing every week?
[01:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Now the,
[01:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:04] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:04] [SPEAKER_03]: house of the dragon is going,
[01:35:05] [SPEAKER_03]: y'all caught up on,
[01:35:06] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:07] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:07] [SPEAKER_03]: interview with the vampire.
[01:35:08] [SPEAKER_03]: I think at some point I probably want to talk about that.
[01:35:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:35:11] [SPEAKER_03]: especially cause I got,
[01:35:12] [SPEAKER_03]: I got a good old vampire expert here with Mario,
[01:35:15] [SPEAKER_03]: with Mario.
[01:35:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Y'all don't know.
[01:35:16] [SPEAKER_03]: We fed here.
[01:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: We,
[01:35:17] [SPEAKER_03]: we got it good with Mario.
[01:35:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:35:18] [SPEAKER_03]: so when she get caught up,
[01:35:20] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe we'll talk about that and other stuff as well.
[01:35:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's coming to Netflix,
[01:35:24] [SPEAKER_01]: right?
[01:35:24] [SPEAKER_01]: In the interview with it.
[01:35:26] [SPEAKER_03]: It's coming to Netflix soon.
[01:35:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:35:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:35:28] [SPEAKER_03]: but again,
[01:35:29] [SPEAKER_03]: but again,
[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm,
[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm caught up and I'm ready for season three.
[01:35:33] [SPEAKER_03]: And so,
[01:35:33] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:33] [SPEAKER_03]: you need to go on ahead and get caught up to three.
[01:35:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh God.
[01:35:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh,
[01:35:37] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah,
[01:35:37] [SPEAKER_03]: you gotta get,
[01:35:38] [SPEAKER_03]: you gotta get ready.
[01:35:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I think they announced season three,
[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_03]: uh,
[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_03]: right around comic con this time.
[01:35:41] [SPEAKER_03]: And so it should be probably,
[01:35:42] [SPEAKER_03]: probably early next year.
[01:35:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Um,
[01:35:43] [SPEAKER_03]: January,
[01:35:44] [SPEAKER_03]: I believe or something like that.
[01:35:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Season two is done.
[01:35:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[01:35:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Season two is done.
[01:35:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
