[00:00:17] What's up, fam? And welcome back again to Recap Kickback. It's me, your host, Chappelle, and I am back again to talk to you about the Black Entertainment News of the Week and whatever we want to talk about as far as our Black content.

[00:00:30] And we don't really have a lot of Black content this week, but we got a good story that a lot of Black folks are probably going to laugh at or at least get very mad at.

[00:00:38] And so with me, with me, who's, I guess I should call you a prof now, Mari, but welcome back, Mari Forth.

[00:00:48] Hey, hey, hey. I'm glad we took a week, you know, at least from this main here.

[00:00:57] You'll always have content if you're subscribed to Recap Kickback, so make sure you're subscribed.

[00:01:02] But we are back. I can't wait to talk about just some foolishness, some just foolishness, you know?

[00:01:09] Yeah. It's not going to be serious today.

[00:01:11] No. Well, it's going to be serious, but not the big topic here.

[00:01:17] We're going to be talking about the biggest heist ever on Netflix, white shenanigans at its finest.

[00:01:23] And with me and Mari this week, we had to call in an old favorite guest here on Recap Kickback.

[00:01:29] My boy, it looks like his name is Versace Bedouin, I believe that's how you pronounce it.

[00:01:36] I don't either, but welcome back, Tyrone.

[00:01:39] Oh, Versace. What's happening? How y'all doing?

[00:01:43] Versace.

[00:01:45] Versace.

[00:01:47] We definitely are going to talk about the shenanigans today.

[00:01:50] Some ridiculous, some absolutely ridiculous.

[00:01:53] When Chappelle mentioned something about people being angry, he's talking about me.

[00:01:57] He's talking about me.

[00:01:59] I love that.

[00:02:00] Yes.

[00:02:02] Well, yeah, we're going to talk about all of that and more, but as Mari was alluding to,

[00:02:06] we did have content last week.

[00:02:07] We talked about Madden, ESPN's Madden or NFL's Madden.

[00:02:12] Madden, it's in the game.

[00:02:13] There's a documentary on Prime.

[00:02:14] I brought in the Duo Sports and Stuff podcast to talk about episode one of the docuseries.

[00:02:19] Make sure you check that out if you were missing your recap kickback content for last week.

[00:02:23] But we're back here, back at it like it's crack, Mari, to talk about this week in Black Entertainment News.

[00:02:29] So make sure you are subscribed to the podcast.

[00:02:32] Go to recapkickback.com slash subscribe to make sure that you are subscribed.

[00:02:36] And make sure if you're watching on YouTube, hit that like button.

[00:02:38] Smash that like button.

[00:02:39] Let us know if you enjoy the content.

[00:02:41] And get in the comments and tell us what you think about what we're talking about today.

[00:02:45] If you're new here because you just like true crime and you see biggest heist ever, guess what?

[00:02:50] We got a great recap at the end of the podcast for you, but you got to make sure you subscribe

[00:02:54] and keep up with all the stuff we're getting into.

[00:02:58] And make sure you follow us on social media as well at Recap Kickback on all social media platforms.

[00:03:04] But first, we got some Black Entertainment news.

[00:03:07] And we got to span a lot of things this time around.

[00:03:12] I really wish it didn't have to be like this time, guys.

[00:03:16] But let's not jump into anything too controversial right now.

[00:03:21] Let's just start with the Golden Globes are coming.

[00:03:25] They're about to happen.

[00:03:26] And we see a lot of the nominees are Black.

[00:03:29] And we got a list of the Black nominees.

[00:03:32] But we also got 25 shows from Black TV creators and showrunners that premiered in 2004.

[00:03:38] So many of these are Golden Globe nominees.

[00:03:41] Some of them are.

[00:03:42] And some of them are things that we covered here on Recap Kickback.

[00:03:44] So I definitely wanted to just highlight because we talked about some of this stuff.

[00:03:47] It's been a great year, but there's some stuff that we weren't able to get to.

[00:03:51] So first and foremost, let's talk about what we did get to.

[00:03:55] We talked about a lot.

[00:03:57] I didn't even realize how much of the content that we actually covered because, you know,

[00:04:01] it's so hard to, you know, to keep up with everything, right?

[00:04:05] It's coming out so fast.

[00:04:06] But I think we have Supercell on our list.

[00:04:10] Mr. and Mrs. Smith covered by me and Pouya.

[00:04:13] This week, Tyrone and I will be talking about The Madness with Coleman Domingo.

[00:04:19] And we have Beauty in Black, which is also Black created, obviously.

[00:04:24] Not getting any Golden Globes anytime soon, I'm sure.

[00:04:27] Cross, which we talked about the premiere, but we haven't gone back and finished it.

[00:04:31] Mari, I've seen a lot of people say they really want us to finish it.

[00:04:34] How to Die Alone.

[00:04:36] And Good Time's Black again, Mari.

[00:04:38] So we hit some big ones.

[00:04:41] But look at some of the stuff we didn't talk about.

[00:04:44] The Invincible Fight Girl.

[00:04:45] Now, this is in conversations.

[00:04:46] We just haven't had a chance to make it happen yet.

[00:04:49] Yep, yep, yep.

[00:04:50] It's a cartoon about wrestling.

[00:04:54] So that's like right up my alley and stuff like that.

[00:04:58] And I actually watched the first four episodes, I want to say.

[00:05:03] And it was really fun.

[00:05:04] It's like if you like wrestling, Black people, and anime, like this is it.

[00:05:12] And you don't even have to like all three of them.

[00:05:15] Just pick one.

[00:05:17] Pick whatever you like the most.

[00:05:19] Yeah, but it was really fun.

[00:05:21] It's really fun writing it.

[00:05:22] I, you know, my son sat down and watched it.

[00:05:25] And it was really, really fun.

[00:05:28] Yeah.

[00:05:29] I read the script of the horizons and the content.

[00:05:32] I just read the description.

[00:05:33] I've never heard of it before.

[00:05:34] But I just read the description of it.

[00:05:37] That's pretty dope.

[00:05:38] Like that's new and different.

[00:05:41] I don't think I've ever seen or even heard of before.

[00:05:43] So I'm going to definitely have to check it out.

[00:05:46] That's dope.

[00:05:46] I'm glad we're highlighting this right now.

[00:05:48] Yeah.

[00:05:48] Yeah.

[00:05:49] It's really funny.

[00:05:50] It's like for Invincible Fight Girl, it's about, it's like it takes place in this world

[00:05:56] where like wrestlers are seen as like the best job to have.

[00:06:01] If you're familiar with like Steven Universe in a sense, it's like it's a parallel world.

[00:06:08] And a girl who it's like, it's like people are broken up with their jobs.

[00:06:14] Like their jobs are dictate their social class where they live.

[00:06:18] And she was born to a family of accountants.

[00:06:21] And they live on accountant island.

[00:06:23] And she's like destined to be an accountant.

[00:06:26] But she doesn't want to be an accountant.

[00:06:28] She wants to be a wrestler.

[00:06:29] And it's so funny.

[00:06:31] It's so anime.

[00:06:33] Like they have, they have a ring deployment system where you can be anywhere in their world.

[00:06:38] And if somebody challenges you to a wrestling match, a satellite from the ring deployment system will shoot down a ring.

[00:06:45] Yeah.

[00:06:46] And everybody just starts fighting.

[00:06:48] It's so, it's like really funny, high concept anime.

[00:06:53] Oh, shout out to Churchy, Kev on stage.

[00:06:55] That was funny too.

[00:06:56] I watched that this year as well.

[00:06:58] Yeah.

[00:06:59] We didn't cover Churchy.

[00:07:00] We didn't cover a lot of these shows, but it's just not, it's not for lack of one or two.

[00:07:04] Yeah.

[00:07:04] We might need to jump in on Churchy while, while we can.

[00:07:07] It'd be nice to have Kev on stage.

[00:07:08] Maybe like, you know, come on the podcast or something.

[00:07:10] I'll dream big.

[00:07:12] Yeah.

[00:07:12] That would be nice.

[00:07:13] Papa's house.

[00:07:14] I definitely talked to Jason Reed about coming and talking about the show created by Damon Wayans, starring him and his son, Damon Wayans Jr.

[00:07:23] But yeah, plenty of Black shows from this last year.

[00:07:27] And I think that's great, right?

[00:07:28] We're here to highlight Black creators.

[00:07:29] If you're on our YouTube page, I'm just scrolling through kind of like a slideshow provided by BlacksMedia.com where we get a lot of our content from.

[00:07:38] So yeah, check it out.

[00:07:39] Make sure you check out that link.

[00:07:41] I'll put it in the show notes.

[00:07:41] And then check out some of this other Black content because there's a lot out there and we can only talk about so much.

[00:07:47] Look, The Walking Dead is even on here.

[00:07:48] See, Recap Kickback did it.

[00:07:50] We had a zombie kickback.

[00:07:52] And click on this article.

[00:07:54] Look at it.

[00:07:55] And if you think there's something on it that you still want us to highlight or want us to talk about maybe in the near future, drop it in the YouTube comments below.

[00:08:05] Yes.

[00:08:05] Please let us know what it is you want us to talk about so that we can make sure we bring in y'all all the content.

[00:08:10] Because a lot of these shows I've heard about, I just didn't have time to check them out or I didn't have time to podcast it.

[00:08:15] Like the Vince Staples show?

[00:08:16] Loved it.

[00:08:17] Just didn't have the time to sit down and talk about it, you know?

[00:08:20] So we will see if we get more content like that moving forward that we can really sink our teeth into into 2025.

[00:08:28] But like I said, the Golden Globes are coming up as well.

[00:08:32] And some of those Black shows and creators got a nomination or two or not or two for the Golden Globes.

[00:08:41] And I'm very happy to hear that.

[00:08:43] But I have some questions about some of these nominees because the Golden Globes, they're scooping up people like right now.

[00:08:50] Cynthia Erivo is already nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical, or Comedy.

[00:08:57] And Mari, it just dropped.

[00:08:59] Like it's like it hit the movie theater and they were like Golden Globe.

[00:09:03] Chappelle, it does not matter.

[00:09:05] Wicked just dropped.

[00:09:06] Guess what happened on my Apple Music Wrap?

[00:09:09] It's the second most listened to album in my Apple replay.

[00:09:16] Can you guess what the first is?

[00:09:21] Hopefully Kendrick, GNX or Tyler.

[00:09:25] We talked about it on here.

[00:09:28] Oh, what?

[00:09:29] Cowboy Carter?

[00:09:30] Of course.

[00:09:31] And it was so far ahead of everything.

[00:09:35] But anyways, yes, she deserves.

[00:09:37] She deserves.

[00:09:39] She deserves.

[00:09:39] That movie was amazing.

[00:09:41] Her acting was amazing.

[00:09:43] Did Ariana get a nod?

[00:09:45] I mean, I know we're just talking about the Black people.

[00:09:47] We're just talking about the Black folks.

[00:09:49] I'm sure she got nominated.

[00:09:52] Other notable Black people nominated for Golden Globes.

[00:09:55] Zendaya for Challengers.

[00:09:57] I have still not seen Challengers.

[00:10:00] Oh, yeah.

[00:10:01] I love it.

[00:10:01] I loved it.

[00:10:02] I think we talked about it on here.

[00:10:03] I talked about it on somebody's podcast with LaTanya.

[00:10:07] Yeah.

[00:10:07] I don't know if it was that one, but I still didn't get a chance to see it.

[00:10:11] And it's been free on demand.

[00:10:12] It's been free online for like forever.

[00:10:14] I just, I can't watch it in front of the kids.

[00:10:17] So.

[00:10:18] Right.

[00:10:18] Yeah.

[00:10:20] It's honestly not even, it's more suggestive than anything.

[00:10:24] Like it ain't, it's not freaking nasty.

[00:10:26] It just.

[00:10:27] To be.

[00:10:28] Yeah.

[00:10:29] It's got nasty undertones, but like there might be, there might be one love scene.

[00:10:33] You know what I'm saying?

[00:10:33] It's not like they out here having threesomes left and right.

[00:10:35] There is, there's literally no threesome.

[00:10:37] And I was like, what?

[00:10:38] Boo.

[00:10:39] Well, also don't, don't lie.

[00:10:41] The only love scene that they showed is the one that they were shown in the previews.

[00:10:45] Is that, that's basically what you're saying?

[00:10:47] Pretty much.

[00:10:47] I mean, that's the only threesome in the whole movie.

[00:10:50] Yeah.

[00:10:51] So, you know, it's, it's a journey, but make sure you check that out if you haven't.

[00:10:55] Denzel Washington nominated for Gladiator 2, which again, that's my issue.

[00:11:00] It's fresh off the press.

[00:11:02] I mean, dang, can we watch it good before you start giving it an award?

[00:11:05] That's why you dropped that stuff at this time of the year.

[00:11:09] Yeah.

[00:11:09] It's time.

[00:11:10] They understand.

[00:11:11] They understand what they're doing.

[00:11:12] But it was a good movie.

[00:11:13] Yeah.

[00:11:13] I haven't checked it out yet, Ty.

[00:11:16] Because again, it just happened.

[00:11:17] Yeah.

[00:11:18] But also covered here, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Donald Glover will get Best Performance by

[00:11:22] a Male Actor nomination.

[00:11:24] Quinta Brunson nominated for Abbott Elementary.

[00:11:27] And then Jamie Foxx, Tyrone, was nominated for his stand-up, What Happened Was, nominated

[00:11:35] for, What Happened Was, I'm sorry, nominated for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

[00:11:41] This Netflix special.

[00:11:44] It dropped today.

[00:11:45] It dropped today.

[00:11:46] Like, this afternoon.

[00:11:46] Oh my God.

[00:11:47] Okay.

[00:11:47] I was like, I thought this just dropped.

[00:11:51] I mean, literally, I don't even know how they typed this article because it must have been

[00:11:55] yesterday.

[00:11:55] You know, it could not have been a week that this has been out.

[00:11:59] Tyrone.

[00:12:00] Yeah.

[00:12:01] What'd you think about it?

[00:12:02] Oh man, I cried.

[00:12:04] I cried a lot watching this.

[00:12:07] This was, man, I tell you, man, if you've ever gone through something, this one hits you.

[00:12:12] This one hits you hard.

[00:12:13] And I think there's a high possibility it wins because it's more of like a variety show.

[00:12:22] You know, he does more than just stand-up in it.

[00:12:25] And it hits, it's almost like a storytelling event where he's using music, he's using comedy,

[00:12:33] he's using all sorts of angles to be able to tell that story.

[00:12:38] And so I think he did a really solid job.

[00:12:41] There wasn't a dry tear in the stadium or arena that they were in.

[00:12:46] But I think it's a must watch and I think it's a must conversation as well.

[00:12:51] And I'm going to assume no transphobia at all?

[00:12:55] Not to my knowledge.

[00:12:57] I ain't seen nothing.

[00:12:59] Look how easy that is.

[00:13:01] We're not done on my day show.

[00:13:02] Yeah, well, look, look, Jamie Foxx went through something very traumatic in the last year where he got very, very sick.

[00:13:09] People were talking about Jamie Foxx being a clone and all this.

[00:13:13] They said he died?

[00:13:14] They said he died.

[00:13:15] And so he addresses all of that.

[00:13:17] His family is involved.

[00:13:19] He actually tells us what happened.

[00:13:21] He actually tells us what happened.

[00:13:23] Oh my gosh.

[00:13:24] I got to watch it.

[00:13:25] It's a tearjerker for sure.

[00:13:27] Like so much that if you look at the Netflix categories, it literally says tearjerker on there.

[00:13:33] Like they know what they're doing when they give you that.

[00:13:35] And so Tyrone is not the first person or the last person you're probably going to hear say that they cried through that.

[00:13:40] I definitely saw a few people.

[00:13:41] So check that out.

[00:13:42] I got to watch it.

[00:13:44] Yeah.

[00:13:45] I told you I might need security is like in my top three for a comedy special.

[00:13:50] Absolutely.

[00:13:52] Yeah.

[00:13:53] This was so insightful and personal.

[00:13:56] And yeah, it was just it was it was really heartfelt.

[00:13:59] You could tell that like this is Jamie Foxx so real in a way that he I don't think he even knew he had this level to him.

[00:14:06] And so to see him telling the story, it seemed like he was also surprised in moments that, you know, like this happened to him.

[00:14:11] But also that he's now in a different space where he has to persevere through that and tell his story and inspire other people to.

[00:14:17] So check that out.

[00:14:19] It's on Netflix.

[00:14:20] Just a few others.

[00:14:21] Ayo Adibiri from The Bear.

[00:14:25] Obviously, musical or comedy.

[00:14:27] The Bear is not a comedy or a musical, but, you know, good luck to you.

[00:14:30] Is this from this last season or the season before?

[00:14:33] This got to be from the this last season.

[00:14:36] Right.

[00:14:36] Because if the Gladiator could get in for this season, then dear God, you know, like this last season.

[00:14:41] And I don't think.

[00:14:42] Sorry.

[00:14:42] Sorry.

[00:14:43] I owe that this last season was just it didn't give me what I needed.

[00:14:45] But you did great.

[00:14:47] She wasn't really in it as much as I would like, though.

[00:14:50] But whatever.

[00:14:52] Zoe Zaldana is also on this list.

[00:14:54] But Emilia Perez, which I believe is the most nominated.

[00:14:59] Yeah.

[00:14:59] And that's the most nominated project here.

[00:15:02] Really?

[00:15:02] Yeah.

[00:15:03] Yeah.

[00:15:04] I believe it got the most of all of the categories.

[00:15:07] So she gets a nom for Best Supporting Actress in Motion Picture.

[00:15:12] Chris Bowers for The Wild Robot, which I believe is also, which also got the most nominations for an animated.

[00:15:20] Yeah.

[00:15:21] And so Black excellence, y'all.

[00:15:23] We did it again.

[00:15:24] You know.

[00:15:25] So make sure you check that out.

[00:15:26] We got to support our Black creators and actors and artists, because if we don't do it, who will?

[00:15:33] Right.

[00:15:35] Yeah.

[00:15:36] Next up, we'll get a little dark.

[00:15:39] You know, we like to give people their flowers here when they can smell them, obviously, on Recap Kickback.

[00:15:45] But this article from NPR that I'm bringing up on YouTube is going to outline that we lost a legend here.

[00:15:51] Renowned poet and Black arts movement icon Nikki Giovanni dies at 81.

[00:15:56] And very sad.

[00:15:58] You know, there's a really cool photo of Nikki Giovanni.

[00:16:02] Because whenever I think of Nikki Giovanni, this is what I see.

[00:16:04] Because I remember watching so many interviews about how, you know, her activism and even just hearing her talk about just giving words of wisdom when she looked like this.

[00:16:15] This woman died at 81.

[00:16:17] You know, I believe she was a professor at the time of her death.

[00:16:21] A member of Delta Theta sorority as well.

[00:16:24] And, you know, just it's a really sad day.

[00:16:26] You know, you get on Instagram and all you see is people posting Nikki Giovanni quotes, different poems.

[00:16:32] I just, I don't know.

[00:16:33] It always bothers me when we lose our icons.

[00:16:36] Because then you have to wonder, like, who's going to step up next?

[00:16:38] Right?

[00:16:38] Who's our new Nikki Giovanni?

[00:16:40] Or is there even room for a new Nikki Giovanni, you know?

[00:16:43] And so I wanted to highlight that because, you know, we've lost a few of the goats.

[00:16:47] And I don't know.

[00:16:49] This really kind of touched me a little bit.

[00:16:51] Yeah.

[00:16:51] Yeah.

[00:16:52] It sucks.

[00:16:53] Mari, are you familiar with Nikki's poetry?

[00:16:57] No, I'm not.

[00:16:58] But I think right now the words fuck cancer come to mind.

[00:17:06] As you would put it so well.

[00:17:11] That's how she passed.

[00:17:12] But I saw a lot of outpouring about her and her life.

[00:17:18] So, like, you, you know, you hate to see our grates be taken away.

[00:17:22] But you do love to see them honored and not forgotten.

[00:17:27] Yeah.

[00:17:28] She ended up working at Virginia Tech, I believe, teaching English for a while.

[00:17:34] And she talked about one of her students who went on to murder 32 people

[00:17:39] in the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007.

[00:17:42] So, you know, very interesting right there.

[00:17:46] She said, killing is a lack of creation.

[00:17:48] It's a lack of imagination.

[00:17:50] It's a lack of understanding who you are and your place in the world.

[00:17:53] Life is an interesting and good idea as opposed to killing, you know,

[00:17:57] wise words from her, obviously.

[00:17:59] But she also has a book of poetry that will be coming out next year

[00:18:03] titled The Last Book, ironically enough, or coincidentally.

[00:18:06] So, yeah, she was working on getting her last book of poetry out

[00:18:09] at the time of her death.

[00:18:11] Tyrone, are you familiar with Nikki at all?

[00:18:16] I'm not too, too familiar.

[00:18:18] I just know that, you know, she was a part of Black arts movement,

[00:18:23] Black power movement in 1960.

[00:18:26] There were so many unspoken people involved in the Black power movement

[00:18:31] in the 60s.

[00:18:33] And we know the most famous one during that time frame.

[00:18:36] But there's others that played a part, and I know she was a huge part of it.

[00:18:41] So, yeah, definitely sad for one of our heroes.

[00:18:45] Yeah, tough, tough loss there.

[00:18:47] But also, you know, 81 is nothing to sneeze at.

[00:18:50] She made it a very long time.

[00:18:51] Wish she could have been here longer, touched more lives,

[00:18:53] all that good stuff.

[00:18:53] But her legacy will be remembered.

[00:18:59] But, you know, we have to move on to, like I said,

[00:19:01] tougher conversations here on Recap Kickback.

[00:19:03] I hate to talk about this kind of stuff,

[00:19:05] unless it is about P. Diddy, who I have a lifelong vendetta against.

[00:19:09] This time, we are going to be diving back into the Diddy waters just a bit.

[00:19:14] NBC News reported the other day that Jay-Z was also accused

[00:19:20] and named in one of the Diddy lawsuits as a,

[00:19:23] or I'm really raping a 13-year-old girl.

[00:19:27] Now, the reason why I wanted to talk about this specifically

[00:19:29] is because although Jay-Z is one of my favorite rappers,

[00:19:31] he is not above reproach, you know, like we believe victims.

[00:19:35] But this conversation is so nuanced, I believe,

[00:19:38] Mari, and you are my true crime expert here.

[00:19:42] There's a lot of questions about the attorney being used,

[00:19:45] Jay-Z's response to the allegations.

[00:19:49] It's a little messy,

[00:19:50] and it feels like we're going to get answers very soon

[00:19:54] because I don't think the Jay-Z and Beyonce camp

[00:19:56] are going to let this go unaddressed,

[00:19:59] at least not publicly.

[00:20:00] They're going to speak on it, Mari.

[00:20:02] Exactly.

[00:20:03] Like, it feels weird, you know what I'm saying?

[00:20:08] Because it's like, we of course believe women.

[00:20:12] That's not what we're saying.

[00:20:13] But the attorney that is handling this,

[00:20:18] from what we heard, moves very shy when it comes to Jay-Z.

[00:20:23] So it's like, it muddies the waters.

[00:20:25] And it really makes me think like, there's no,

[00:20:31] what's the word?

[00:20:32] You know, when people have to recuse themselves from cases.

[00:20:36] You know what I'm saying?

[00:20:38] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:20:38] Conflict of interest.

[00:20:40] You know what I'm saying?

[00:20:41] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:20:43] So we will definitely see,

[00:20:44] like this is one of those things where it's just like,

[00:20:47] oh, it's going to get litigious.

[00:20:49] You know what I'm saying?

[00:20:51] Oh, right.

[00:20:52] Because straight out the gate, Jay-Z,

[00:20:54] okay, so here's the storyline as I understand it.

[00:20:58] Yeah.

[00:20:59] We get the news about Jay-Z being named in these allegations,

[00:21:04] but this is after these claims were made specifically about Diddy.

[00:21:09] Now then it was refiled to include Jay-Z.

[00:21:12] Jay-Z then came out and said,

[00:21:15] yeah, we will address these claims because they're baseless,

[00:21:18] but also because they tried to basically extort me for money

[00:21:22] and they wanted to do a big settlement and keep it on the hush.

[00:21:26] Well, I would like to publicly take it to criminal court if possible

[00:21:28] so that I can be sued or something of that nature

[00:21:31] if there is actually some wrongdoing on my part.

[00:21:34] But he does not seem to be moving like a guilty person,

[00:21:38] in my opinion, Tyrone.

[00:21:40] How much do you know about it?

[00:21:43] The same thing that you explained is what I read the statement that he made.

[00:21:47] I think the statement in and of itself is unprecedented

[00:21:52] for this type of accusation.

[00:21:55] I don't think we've seen anything like it before.

[00:21:58] And so when you mentioned he's not moving like somebody that is guilty,

[00:22:04] the thing that comes to my mind immediately is the statement that he made.

[00:22:07] Now, how much of that is a play or a ploy?

[00:22:13] We don't know.

[00:22:14] And I think to your point, Mari,

[00:22:17] it's going to come out sooner than we usually get to.

[00:22:22] So I'm leaning towards not guilty.

[00:22:29] I'm leaning towards bullshit.

[00:22:33] But I'm giving myself some space to be able to kind of move off of that just in case.

[00:22:39] Yeah.

[00:22:40] No matter what, it's not a good look if like as a lawyer,

[00:22:45] you are talking, you filed a claim,

[00:22:49] you filed charges against like Diddy, right?

[00:22:54] And then, but at the same time,

[00:22:56] you're sitting here like threatening Jay-Z.

[00:22:58] And you're like, you know, from what Jay-Z is putting out there saying like,

[00:23:03] oh, give us money to settle and we won't add you to this lawsuit.

[00:23:09] And Jay-Z being like, I'm not giving you money.

[00:23:13] Add me to the lawsuit is makes it feel like,

[00:23:16] it makes it feel like at least he knows he's going to fight it

[00:23:20] and he's going to want everything out in the open.

[00:23:23] And people, that's kind of the feeling, what Ty is alluding to is like,

[00:23:28] people who have stuff to hide normally don't want everything out in the open.

[00:23:33] So, I mean, I'm just, I'm just waiting.

[00:23:36] I read, I read the indictments.

[00:23:38] You know, I went to the Bob's page and read everything.

[00:23:40] Look, you know, I got the Bob pulled up, you know.

[00:23:42] Exactly.

[00:23:44] So Megan, the reporter.

[00:23:46] So, I'll definitely be following this.

[00:23:49] Like other people probably won't.

[00:23:52] Everybody will look at the headline and be like, I knew it.

[00:23:54] You know what I'm saying?

[00:23:55] It's just one of those things where it's going to get split down.

[00:23:59] Some people are going to say this.

[00:24:00] Some people are going to say that.

[00:24:01] To me, I want to wait.

[00:24:03] I want to see the court documents.

[00:24:05] I want to, like, it's been such a year,

[00:24:08] like two or three years of like hip hop trials.

[00:24:11] Like actually like really following like the YSL, which just finished.

[00:24:15] That just wrapped up.

[00:24:17] Keep free, y'all.

[00:24:18] I'm sorry.

[00:24:20] The Meg Thee Stallion trial.

[00:24:22] Like the fact that we have like real news sources that we can go to

[00:24:26] who are following these trials.

[00:24:29] Like that's what I'm leaning on, you know.

[00:24:31] And that's what I want to hear, you know.

[00:24:33] Say like you can actually add like Jonathan Major's trial into that.

[00:24:38] That are just happening, you know.

[00:24:40] And getting those details is extremely important.

[00:24:43] It's, man, people, I've definitely heard the, oh, I knew this was coming.

[00:24:50] And that makes me nervous a little bit because it's already a guilty

[00:24:58] association attached to it due to those types of comments.

[00:25:03] And sometimes, you know, we don't pull off of that once we get more details

[00:25:09] or we don't wait for more details.

[00:25:11] So, yeah.

[00:25:14] But that's, yeah.

[00:25:16] Same.

[00:25:17] But that's what this headline culture has been like.

[00:25:19] That's what it's been like for, you know, arguably at least what feels like

[00:25:24] ramping up the last eight years or so.

[00:25:26] Like there's always just going to be keyboard warriors who only read the headlines

[00:25:31] and don't read the thing.

[00:25:32] So, like people like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Stars, they have to, you know, they know what they

[00:25:42] have to do if they want to clear their name or whatever.

[00:25:44] It reminds me of like Meg and Lizzo, like all the Meg and Lizzo suits.

[00:25:48] We heard all of the stuff of when those suits were first filed.

[00:25:51] But now if you go back and see those suits, it's like nothing came of them.

[00:25:59] Because, you know, and just because, you know, just because nothing came of them

[00:26:04] doesn't mean anything didn't happen.

[00:26:05] But, you know, if you go back and read, a lot of that stuff is just like it can't,

[00:26:10] it was unfounded.

[00:26:13] And especially like they couldn't prove it in the Lizzo case.

[00:26:15] The Meg case where her ex, where her, where the like assistant had sued her.

[00:26:23] Her assistant sued her for like lost wages, but released the story talking about how,

[00:26:33] you know, he was there when she was doing stuff with a girl and was like,

[00:26:38] was wanted to file for sexual harassment.

[00:26:41] But he couldn't because, you know, he couldn't prove it.

[00:26:45] But he put that out and that was the headline.

[00:26:47] You know what I'm saying?

[00:26:48] And then, and then it was, it was all taken care of in court or whatever,

[00:26:52] or it's still in the process of being taken care of court.

[00:26:55] Like no matter what, anybody that we're in that blog culture,

[00:26:59] we're in this headline culture where anybody can say anything about a celebrity.

[00:27:03] And, you know, at this point, if I'm, if that, I'm that celebrity and I'm like,

[00:27:08] I'm that person, it's just like, you can't care.

[00:27:11] It's almost like you can't care what people think.

[00:27:13] You just have to fight and clear your name because people who want to believe you will

[00:27:18] believe you.

[00:27:19] People who don't want to believe you won't like people like us who just want to read this,

[00:27:24] read the facts.

[00:27:25] We'll read the facts.

[00:27:26] That's just how it is.

[00:27:27] Yep.

[00:27:28] And in this environment where there's fast media and anybody can be a journalist essentially

[00:27:33] because exactly.

[00:27:35] You got to treat these types of situations differently than you might have 10, 15, 20 years ago.

[00:27:42] Yeah.

[00:27:42] Yeah.

[00:27:43] Media literacy is just, it's at an all time low here.

[00:27:46] So.

[00:27:48] Yeah.

[00:27:49] And, and look, like I said, we're not here to say whether or not Jay-Z is guilty or

[00:27:53] innocent or anything like that.

[00:27:55] We're just reporting the news.

[00:27:56] The problem is that there's so much drama around this attorney.

[00:28:00] Tony Busby is the attorney's name and I'm from Houston.

[00:28:03] We know his name.

[00:28:04] He is scammer.

[00:28:05] At least, you know, you can be a scammer and also be right, you know, but he's definitely

[00:28:08] a scammer.

[00:28:09] I believe he's, TMZ, TMZ had reported that he has been sued for assault himself not too

[00:28:18] long ago.

[00:28:20] Yeah.

[00:28:21] So it's kind of like, sir, you already don't come off as a like trustworthy narrator when

[00:28:25] it comes to this kind of stuff.

[00:28:26] Right.

[00:28:26] Um, he also is, um, I guess he's getting targeted by a former client.

[00:28:32] It says former client claims Busby acted more like a loan shark than his lawyer in a personal

[00:28:36] injury case.

[00:28:37] And, uh, he's getting sued for holding a huge chunk of the settlement for himself.

[00:28:42] Uh, and there's also other like reports coming out.

[00:28:46] Uh, Jay-Z's attorney basically is, uh, alleging that Busby tried to force a female client to

[00:28:51] make false allegations to her as a client when she refused to do so.

[00:28:55] And she's also claimed Busby's firm pressed her to file a lawsuit anonymously.

[00:29:00] And, uh, you know, all that stuff can only hurt.

[00:29:04] If this woman, this can only hurt the victim's case.

[00:29:07] You know what I'm saying?

[00:29:08] And that's the worst part about it is that you, if you were that hell bent on the fall

[00:29:14] of a billionaire, which we see that people kind of have a bloodlust for it, especially

[00:29:17] when it comes to humbling, humbling, successful black people, humbling, humbling, successful

[00:29:21] black people, humbling black men, all those things are going to cloud what ultimately the

[00:29:25] most important thing is was this person harmed, you know?

[00:29:28] And, uh, and I think all of this clouds that.

[00:29:31] And so, yeah, yeah, exactly.

[00:29:36] So we will be back of course, to talk about more of that as more of that unfolds, but

[00:29:40] you know, like I'm a big Jay-Z fan as far as like rap goes.

[00:29:44] Um, but I don't know that man, you know, so he can, he can be guilty or not.

[00:29:47] Uh, but it's, it's looking like a sham of a whole situation and it's like some, some funny

[00:29:54] business behind the scenes, but we can't make any judgment about it right now because the

[00:29:58] victim, if there is a victim does not deserve that as well.

[00:30:01] So, um, that ends our black entertainment news.

[00:30:05] Anything y'all want to add before we get into our recap of the biggest heist ever?

[00:30:11] No, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:30:13] Uh, God, there's too much going on.

[00:30:16] Can we take a break?

[00:30:17] Can like everything just take a pause?

[00:30:19] Like, can we just get a holiday break?

[00:30:23] We need a holiday break.

[00:30:25] Can I get a minute, please?

[00:30:27] Yeah.

[00:30:28] It's too much.

[00:30:29] 2025 is upon us.

[00:30:30] Maybe we'll start over fresh.

[00:30:32] Uh, but you know, we know that's not how we really get down.

[00:30:35] So, uh, that said, thank y'all for listening to our black entertainment news of the week.

[00:30:41] Uh, we will be right back after this break to talk about biggest heist ever right after

[00:30:45] this.

[00:30:46] So don't go anywhere.

[00:30:49] All right, we're back.

[00:30:50] And this is our recap of a, uh, a documentary that is on Netflix called biggest heist ever.

[00:30:59] Mari suggested this for the week.

[00:31:01] She said, Chappelle, I watched it and I laughed and I think it'd be fun to talk about.

[00:31:06] I told Tyrone, this is what we're talking about.

[00:31:08] He said, cool.

[00:31:09] All right.

[00:31:10] Little odd.

[00:31:11] Not really recap kickback ish, but let's check it out.

[00:31:14] And Tyrone takes me back.

[00:31:15] I'm mad.

[00:31:15] I said, okay.

[00:31:16] So it sounds like we need to be talking about this because if it made Mari laugh and Tyrone

[00:31:20] mad, uh, it's like, um, we probably gonna have some good material here.

[00:31:24] So if you haven't checked it out, go ahead and check out, uh, biggest heist ever.

[00:31:29] Uh, the quick version.

[00:31:30] Mari, give us the quick rundown for the people who have not seen it and just need a little

[00:31:34] bit of motivation before we get into all the spoilers of everything.

[00:31:37] Okay.

[00:31:38] So, uh, basically a husband and wife team named, uh, Heather and Ilya, they basically, uh, pull

[00:31:45] off the biggest heist, Bitcoin heist ever, um, to ever, ever do it back in 2015.

[00:31:53] Um, this documentary was so like, I love overall.

[00:31:59] I loved it because one, it's the most I've ever been explained about Bitcoin and understand

[00:32:06] it in my entire life.

[00:32:08] I was like, Oh, that's what y'all been doing.

[00:32:11] Did it not make you think I could do that?

[00:32:14] I was like, Bitcoin, I can do that.

[00:32:16] Yeah.

[00:32:19] It's a Bitcoin.

[00:32:20] Exactly.

[00:32:21] It, it explained Bitcoin.

[00:32:23] It, um, it explained like, uh, just internet fraud, scam, crime.

[00:32:29] Like we know people love them a good scam nowadays.

[00:32:32] So it's a really good scam documentary.

[00:32:34] And then on the face of it, you have two people who are just outrageous.

[00:32:38] Like Heather, Heather, she, it goes from being like a, uh, working in a, in the startups industry

[00:32:45] in Silicon Valley to like making weird Tik TOks and being a rapper called Razzle Con.

[00:32:52] Like, and then we had an Aqua Fina cameo.

[00:32:55] I'm like, Oh.

[00:32:56] Her name had to come up because it made so much sense.

[00:33:00] I said, of course I knew she, I knew she was behind this.

[00:33:04] Yeah.

[00:33:05] But I say all that to say that this husband and well, yeah, they become, they ended up becoming

[00:33:11] husband and wife.

[00:33:12] This husband and wife team managed to steal $70 million in Bitcoin originally when they

[00:33:19] stole it in 2015, when it was confiscated from them.

[00:33:23] And I believe it was 2019, I believe.

[00:33:25] Um, it was worth $4.5 billion and they had $4.5 billion in Bitcoin that they could not touch.

[00:33:36] They could not money launder it.

[00:33:38] And that is where the, like the explanation of Bitcoin came in.

[00:33:42] And it was so fascinating.

[00:33:43] They were talking about how in Bitcoin, everybody, everybody can see everybody's transactions in

[00:33:50] Bitcoin.

[00:33:50] Everybody can see everybody's wallets in Bitcoin.

[00:33:53] You just can't see who owns them.

[00:33:56] And that whole public, uh, the, the public log that made me so like, I'm nosy.

[00:34:03] I want to get, show me the legend.

[00:34:05] Yeah.

[00:34:06] Send me the link.

[00:34:07] You know, exactly.

[00:34:09] I was like, I kind of want to just look at people's transactions, um, Bitcoin transactions,

[00:34:14] but they basically broke in, um, to, uh, what was it?

[00:34:18] What was the name of the thing?

[00:34:20] Bitcoin?

[00:34:21] Bitcoin or something?

[00:34:22] Yeah.

[00:34:23] I know.

[00:34:25] Yeah.

[00:34:26] It was really hard to say, but Bitcoin, yeah.

[00:34:29] Something like that.

[00:34:30] Bitfinex.

[00:34:31] There it is.

[00:34:31] Bitfinex.

[00:34:32] Yeah.

[00:34:34] Bitfinex is a Bitcoin, um, like conversion, uh, thing.

[00:34:40] And it basically converts Bitcoin from Bitcoin to money.

[00:34:43] And they, they hacked into it in a way where they hacked into the servers.

[00:34:49] They basically hacked into the servers, sat in, in the servers long enough to collect people's

[00:34:55] passwords and information.

[00:34:57] And then once they collected all that stuff, they basically like, like hit a button or something.

[00:35:05] That's how I imagined it.

[00:35:06] And they automatically stole all these people's money, like just emptied other people's wallets

[00:35:11] and put all that money into this one wallet where people could see that they had stole

[00:35:16] the $70 million.

[00:35:19] And, um, and it just had to sit there and collect dust because once it was in that wallet, it's

[00:35:27] trackable.

[00:35:27] You can see where they send it, but, and they could send it to places until those places

[00:35:33] require you to identify yourself in order to like convert it to money.

[00:35:38] They knew they could not, I use, use it to identify themselves.

[00:35:43] They couldn't take it to the point where they had to identify themselves because they would

[00:35:46] get arrested for, for stealing.

[00:35:48] So it was so crazy.

[00:35:50] We had, um, one of the talking heads was somebody whose whole, uh, Bitcoin was stolen and stuff

[00:35:55] like that.

[00:35:57] And it was a wild, it was a wild, wild ride.

[00:36:01] Um, but you know, that's the technical stuff.

[00:36:04] The funny stuff in the documentary is her trying to rap because.

[00:36:08] Well, yeah, let's, well, let's, yeah, let's get to it.

[00:36:10] Let's get to it.

[00:36:11] Let's get to it.

[00:36:11] So Mari, Mari, that was beautiful.

[00:36:13] That's basically what happened.

[00:36:14] These people hacked the Bitcoin and they got it before the boom, right?

[00:36:18] They got in there before Bitcoin really took off as like, oh no, people getting rich.

[00:36:24] And so the problem is these people that are doing the hacking from the outside looking in,

[00:36:30] they don't really look like super criminals, right?

[00:36:34] $4.5 billion.

[00:36:36] They explained to us that you could spend a hundred thousand dollars a day for a hundred

[00:36:40] years and still have almost a billion dollars left.

[00:36:42] That's how much money those people had stolen.

[00:36:44] And then when you zoom in, they are clowns.

[00:36:48] At least one.

[00:36:49] Heather is a clown.

[00:36:51] Tyrone, is that what made you mad?

[00:36:54] What made you so mad about this?

[00:36:56] You're muted.

[00:36:59] What made me mad was, and we've said this number multiple times, $4.5 billion.

[00:37:08] Billion dollars.

[00:37:10] Billion dollars.

[00:37:11] This man was in jail for three and a half years.

[00:37:14] Ooh.

[00:37:14] Shorty was not in jail for like two years.

[00:37:18] And then she went to jail.

[00:37:20] Went to jail for like two years.

[00:37:22] Yeah.

[00:37:23] 18 months for $4.5 billion.

[00:37:31] Where can I, where can I get in?

[00:37:34] I want to get in.

[00:37:35] I want to get in.

[00:37:36] It's worth it.

[00:37:37] It's worth the risk.

[00:37:39] It was living lavishly in a New York penthouse.

[00:37:44] For five years.

[00:37:47] Five years before they got caught.

[00:37:50] And you only had to spend 18 months in the pit?

[00:37:54] What are we doing here?

[00:37:55] I mean, his father, we get a section where his father had broken into the Illinois Trust Bank and had the same.

[00:38:04] Yeah.

[00:38:05] They had, he had the same problem.

[00:38:07] He couldn't cash out.

[00:38:08] They found out it was him, went to his house like, hey, you hacked into our stuff.

[00:38:12] And he was like, yeah, I did.

[00:38:13] And they were like, okay, well, just don't do it again.

[00:38:15] Like, what is the slap on the wrist, wrist type bullshit?

[00:38:18] Like his father didn't even go to jail.

[00:38:20] This is the lesson you learn from this documentary.

[00:38:23] The lesson you learn from this documentary is if you're going to be a criminal, be an IT computer science related criminal.

[00:38:31] Because instead of putting you in jail, they're just going to want your help.

[00:38:35] That's all they're going to do.

[00:38:37] That's all they're going to do is just want your help.

[00:38:40] You is free.

[00:38:41] You is free.

[00:38:43] And all you got to do is just help them out.

[00:38:45] That is crazy.

[00:38:46] They listed two, they listed three informants that were prior hackers on this documentary.

[00:38:55] And the reason why they're not in jail is because they're helping us, they're helping out the intelligence.

[00:39:00] That's the crime that you want to commit.

[00:39:03] So that's what I learned from this.

[00:39:04] If you see me on the news, because I became a computer science criminal.

[00:39:10] It's funny, because not only do they list hackers, we talk to them.

[00:39:15] We have legit people who are like, yeah, it's me.

[00:39:19] I was hacking.

[00:39:20] I was stealing so much.

[00:39:21] I was a cyber crime genius.

[00:39:22] I came up with all that kind of stuff.

[00:39:24] I'm like the godfather of hacking.

[00:39:26] Well, why aren't you in jail?

[00:39:29] I mean, they got a polo, a little two button polo, both buttons and snapped up.

[00:39:37] Like he got a clean, shaving, bald head.

[00:39:41] And he's got a nice little computer in that little room that he is.

[00:39:44] He all lean, bagging, typing.

[00:39:46] Yeah, man, this is what I did.

[00:39:47] We called it.

[00:39:48] We called the website Shadow Hackers.

[00:39:50] He's talking about the whole website that he created.

[00:39:52] And he's just chilling.

[00:39:54] I don't understand it.

[00:39:55] I don't understand it.

[00:39:57] Yeah.

[00:39:58] Well, look, he's an informant.

[00:40:00] And he had no issue being an informant either, because now he got a nice cushy job.

[00:40:04] It kept him out of jail for the rest of his life.

[00:40:06] And all he got to do is help people track down other cyber criminals like this.

[00:40:11] And so his name is Brett Johnson, the original internet godfather is what they call them.

[00:40:16] He was doing all the fraud, basically a pioneer in the industry.

[00:40:20] And he's one of our main talking heads and one of the main people who were helping track

[00:40:24] these other two people.

[00:40:25] And I was like, bro, well, I mean, dang, ain't no honor amongst thieves.

[00:40:30] Dear God, like you out here throwing your predecessor.

[00:40:34] You know, you're the predecessor.

[00:40:35] You're throwing your people, your neos under the bus.

[00:40:39] You know what I'm saying?

[00:40:40] You got, like, what are you doing?

[00:40:43] I didn't, I just, that did annoy me.

[00:40:45] I'm not going to lie.

[00:40:47] One of these other people.

[00:40:49] He's the ultimate remote job.

[00:40:51] Yeah.

[00:40:52] Yeah.

[00:40:52] I get to sit around and just, and just like find other people doing crimes.

[00:40:56] Find other people.

[00:40:57] Yeah.

[00:40:57] Yeah.

[00:40:58] Cause I did crimes.

[00:40:59] Yeah.

[00:40:59] Okay.

[00:40:59] Sir.

[00:41:00] Um, yeah.

[00:41:01] Not a fan of him.

[00:41:02] Um, our big investigator here, Chris, uh, Jensesky.

[00:41:05] Um, he, he comes in and he's so deadpan.

[00:41:09] This man is giving no energy at all.

[00:41:13] It was nothing.

[00:41:15] It's because he wants to take his job very seriously.

[00:41:18] He's like, I am a hacker.

[00:41:20] I I'm here to find cyber criminals there.

[00:41:22] This is $4.5 billion.

[00:41:25] This is very serious.

[00:41:26] I take my job seriously.

[00:41:27] I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about this.

[00:41:29] I've come different ideas come to me and I'm trying different websites,

[00:41:32] trying different avenues.

[00:41:33] Cause he has to track this money and it's hard because it's moving all over

[00:41:36] the place and you can't really pin it down, but you know,

[00:41:39] they can't get to it without identifying themselves.

[00:41:41] So he's gotta be on alert.

[00:41:43] And then he finds out who he's dealing with.

[00:41:45] And he's just like, bruh,

[00:41:48] a rapper named Razzlecon is behind all of this.

[00:41:53] Mari.

[00:41:54] Mm-hmm.

[00:41:56] Do this,

[00:41:57] this is white shenanigans.

[00:42:00] Were we living under a rock?

[00:42:02] Did you ever hear about any of this?

[00:42:04] Cause I have,

[00:42:04] I had no clue.

[00:42:06] There was a TikTok internet,

[00:42:07] Instagram rapper running around here,

[00:42:09] stealing $4.5 billion of Bitcoin.

[00:42:11] Not,

[00:42:12] not at all.

[00:42:12] Had no,

[00:42:14] no earthly idea.

[00:42:15] Um,

[00:42:16] and the fact that this went on for five years,

[00:42:19] this one for five years,

[00:42:20] they were sitting there,

[00:42:21] they were staring at this money.

[00:42:23] They were trying to launder it,

[00:42:26] but couldn't do it.

[00:42:27] Chris was hot on their tails.

[00:42:29] And honestly,

[00:42:31] they let's be real.

[00:42:32] They really got caught.

[00:42:33] Cause they got bored.

[00:42:34] They were like,

[00:42:35] they were kind of like,

[00:42:37] maybe nobody's looking anymore.

[00:42:38] Like they,

[00:42:39] they,

[00:42:40] they did all of that,

[00:42:42] that quote unquote,

[00:42:43] they kept saying like,

[00:42:43] it's,

[00:42:44] it was such a sophisticated hack.

[00:42:46] It was such like,

[00:42:47] you know,

[00:42:48] it was,

[00:42:48] it was something they hadn't seen before.

[00:42:50] These Negroes got caught because,

[00:42:52] or non-Negroes,

[00:42:54] got caught

[00:42:55] because they,

[00:42:56] they,

[00:42:57] they bought some gift cards.

[00:42:59] They,

[00:42:59] they,

[00:43:00] okay.

[00:43:01] So yeah.

[00:43:04] They got a little sloppy.

[00:43:05] They got a little sloppy.

[00:43:06] And I think that's why,

[00:43:08] that's why,

[00:43:09] I mean,

[00:43:09] honestly,

[00:43:10] it is just a little sloppy.

[00:43:11] It's something as tiny as a gift card,

[00:43:13] which is such a big identifier was the thing that took them down.

[00:43:17] It's $4.5 billion.

[00:43:19] Most people get caught buying a home,

[00:43:20] you know,

[00:43:21] or a block or a ship,

[00:43:23] you know,

[00:43:24] or something.

[00:43:24] They get caught fleeing the country,

[00:43:26] buying property outside of the country.

[00:43:28] The investigators are even asking us,

[00:43:30] I don't know why they didn't just,

[00:43:32] they speak,

[00:43:33] they speak other languages.

[00:43:34] They got ties in Ukraine.

[00:43:36] Why are they still here?

[00:43:37] No,

[00:43:38] they have a going away parties and making sure that their friends know,

[00:43:41] Hey y'all,

[00:43:41] we about to leave.

[00:43:42] But also I shot you a little hundred dollar gift card from Walmart.

[00:43:48] And here's,

[00:43:49] here's reason number two.

[00:43:51] Tyrone was pissed.

[00:43:53] Okay.

[00:43:55] The gift cards wasn't a,

[00:43:56] it wasn't for them.

[00:43:58] They were giving these gift cards.

[00:44:01] It wasn't like,

[00:44:01] Oh,

[00:44:02] we're trying to find ways to use this money to spend it.

[00:44:05] So we have to give ourselves gift cards.

[00:44:07] No,

[00:44:08] no.

[00:44:09] These were like party gifts that they were,

[00:44:12] or their,

[00:44:14] their,

[00:44:14] their marriage.

[00:44:15] Right.

[00:44:15] And so when he says,

[00:44:18] Hey,

[00:44:19] they can go somewhere else that where,

[00:44:23] even if they get caught,

[00:44:25] they won't go to jail.

[00:44:26] And these non-Negro's is chilling in New York.

[00:44:32] In New York.

[00:44:34] They were like,

[00:44:37] they could have ran so many times.

[00:44:39] Right.

[00:44:42] I didn't understand it until the 18 months.

[00:44:46] That's,

[00:44:47] that's what I'm saying.

[00:44:48] Like this is,

[00:44:49] this is crazy to me.

[00:44:51] This is the wildest hour and a half that I've ever seen because I was,

[00:44:55] I was flabbergasted at the goings on of what was happening.

[00:44:59] When you,

[00:45:00] when the people,

[00:45:01] people who are listening,

[00:45:03] people,

[00:45:03] when you look up Razo Khan,

[00:45:07] please come back and talk about it in the,

[00:45:11] in,

[00:45:12] in the comment section,

[00:45:13] because I need y'all to understand the depth of what we're saying here.

[00:45:19] Shorty was a rapper,

[00:45:21] bro.

[00:45:21] She was a rapper.

[00:45:23] She went wide,

[00:45:25] bro.

[00:45:26] Yeah.

[00:45:28] And then,

[00:45:29] so she's bad rapper and we will get,

[00:45:32] we will get that.

[00:45:33] We got to talk about it.

[00:45:36] But they basically did the equivalent of you find a credit card on the ground.

[00:45:40] You buy some candy to make sure it works first before you like,

[00:45:44] I didn't even get to the part where they bought the big thing.

[00:45:47] Like,

[00:45:47] no,

[00:45:49] they spent it on bullshit and gifts for their friends.

[00:45:53] And these people were not poor.

[00:45:54] They weren't poor.

[00:45:55] They did not have to buy the gift card with the Bitcoin.

[00:45:59] They had been living in New York off their own money.

[00:46:02] It's not like they could get the Bitcoin money.

[00:46:04] They couldn't touch it.

[00:46:05] So it's not like they had other streams of income.

[00:46:10] Why?

[00:46:12] What are you doing?

[00:46:14] Okay.

[00:46:14] Um,

[00:46:15] so let's take it back a little bit.

[00:46:18] Um,

[00:46:19] Heather,

[00:46:19] she's our,

[00:46:20] she's the real villain here.

[00:46:22] Ilya,

[00:46:22] we'll talk about him in a second,

[00:46:23] but Heather,

[00:46:24] we got to talk about the rap.

[00:46:26] Um,

[00:46:26] Rosal Khan is her rap name.

[00:46:28] She starts off as a tech person.

[00:46:30] Like Marcia,

[00:46:31] working at tech startups.

[00:46:32] She's a little left of center.

[00:46:34] Uh,

[00:46:34] she's not,

[00:46:35] she's like a little wacky offbeat character.

[00:46:37] She's bringing a waffle iron to work all the time.

[00:46:39] People like her,

[00:46:40] but she's not really.

[00:46:44] Anyway,

[00:46:44] people like her,

[00:46:45] but she ain't nobody like she,

[00:46:46] she kind of like a,

[00:46:47] uh,

[00:46:48] like a clown,

[00:46:49] you know,

[00:46:49] in a room,

[00:46:49] you know,

[00:46:50] everybody kind of gravitates for,

[00:46:51] for,

[00:46:51] for goofy stuff,

[00:46:52] but she's very smart.

[00:46:54] Yeah.

[00:46:55] Center of attention,

[00:46:56] but like,

[00:46:56] you know,

[00:46:57] not like in a good way necessarily.

[00:46:58] Just,

[00:46:59] she just is.

[00:47:00] And she comes from a well-educated background.

[00:47:03] I believe she has two degrees international relations and economics.

[00:47:07] So she knows what she's doing.

[00:47:08] Um,

[00:47:09] she ends up going off and making a career out of both of those

[00:47:13] things.

[00:47:14] You know,

[00:47:14] she works in international relations.

[00:47:16] She didn't work the economics.

[00:47:16] She eventually marries the two.

[00:47:18] This woman has all the knowledge of like how to scam people,

[00:47:24] uh,

[00:47:25] because of her studies in economics and international relations and all that

[00:47:28] good stuff.

[00:47:29] Uh,

[00:47:29] also her dealing with tech people.

[00:47:31] She is so bold that this lady's out here giving Ted talks and speaking at,

[00:47:36] at,

[00:47:37] at dinners and conventions and stuff about how to scam people.

[00:47:42] While she's rapping about scam people.

[00:47:47] Social.

[00:47:48] The hubris of this lady who raps about catfishing somebody and you catfishing

[00:47:54] people.

[00:47:57] I got nothing.

[00:47:59] I got nothing.

[00:48:00] Thank you.

[00:48:01] When she's,

[00:48:03] when she's given the speech and somebody raises their hand in the crowd,

[00:48:06] like,

[00:48:07] Hey,

[00:48:07] it's social engineering thing.

[00:48:09] Sounds unethical.

[00:48:10] How do you,

[00:48:11] how do you work with that?

[00:48:12] Like,

[00:48:12] cause you seem like a professional person.

[00:48:14] You obviously wouldn't be up here bragging about something unethical.

[00:48:17] And she goes,

[00:48:18] I mean,

[00:48:18] I have my own ethics moment.

[00:48:20] Lady,

[00:48:21] what does that mean?

[00:48:22] Right.

[00:48:22] What does that mean?

[00:48:24] Right.

[00:48:24] You're a scammer.

[00:48:26] You're a scammer.

[00:48:27] And you're proud of it.

[00:48:28] You've made 10,000 videos.

[00:48:32] I believe Mario or a thousand videos.

[00:48:34] Something like that on YouTube.

[00:48:36] Rapping.

[00:48:37] It's a lot.

[00:48:39] It's a lot of stuff.

[00:48:41] So it's just the idea that this lady is so above reproach that she's like

[00:48:45] drawing attention to herself in a way,

[00:48:48] which he has a $4.5 billion secret.

[00:48:51] Tyrone.

[00:48:52] It's a level of privilege.

[00:48:54] That is so unprecedented that like the speaking of the song,

[00:48:59] like the second line of the song.

[00:49:02] That is my name.

[00:49:04] Osachi Bedouin,

[00:49:06] whatever.

[00:49:07] It's for the entrepreneurs and the hackers.

[00:49:10] She is just throwing it out there.

[00:49:14] I don't,

[00:49:15] there is,

[00:49:16] there is,

[00:49:17] there is a high level of privilege that doesn't,

[00:49:21] that is not only attached to the fact that she's talking about social

[00:49:24] engineering and holding seminars for it.

[00:49:27] Now she understands that there's,

[00:49:29] this is a possibility that she could be investigated on.

[00:49:31] But the fact that she has this high level of education that is attached to

[00:49:37] her,

[00:49:37] she knows five languages.

[00:49:39] And she was like,

[00:49:40] nah,

[00:49:41] I just become a cringy rapper.

[00:49:43] Yeah.

[00:49:44] I know.

[00:49:47] It's fine,

[00:49:48] you know,

[00:49:49] and can we talk about it?

[00:49:50] There's always one.

[00:49:52] There's always one.

[00:49:54] I got to back them up.

[00:49:56] And she had to,

[00:49:57] she had to,

[00:49:58] and she had to,

[00:50:00] um,

[00:50:01] okay.

[00:50:02] These in words,

[00:50:03] I didn't write their names down.

[00:50:05] I didn't either.

[00:50:07] I have,

[00:50:08] I have some insight into how these documentaries work.

[00:50:15] You know,

[00:50:15] for,

[00:50:16] I'll talk about that one day on here,

[00:50:17] but they do have a narrative that they're trying to push and they bring in

[00:50:21] people who can spend the narrative that they want to spend,

[00:50:23] uh,

[00:50:24] in a lot of ways.

[00:50:25] Mari and has famously said on her podcast crime scene that like all

[00:50:28] documentaries have a point of view.

[00:50:30] They're all trying to tell you something.

[00:50:31] None of them are just like unbiased.

[00:50:33] It's there typically have a point of view that they're trying to get

[00:50:35] across.

[00:50:36] And so they bring in these two black men to be like,

[00:50:40] we were helping her with the rap.

[00:50:42] You know,

[00:50:42] it wasn't good,

[00:50:43] but we supported her because she was our friend and we helped.

[00:50:47] And we were shocked to find out that this was like the dark underbelly of

[00:50:51] what she had going on.

[00:50:53] But to that,

[00:50:54] I say y'all didn't have to help that lady.

[00:50:56] Y'all did not have to help that lady.

[00:50:57] Why did you do this?

[00:50:58] This is,

[00:50:58] you were part of the problem.

[00:50:59] I hope they got you too.

[00:51:01] They,

[00:51:01] they,

[00:51:01] they,

[00:51:01] they,

[00:51:01] they,

[00:51:01] they scammed you a little bit.

[00:51:03] You know what I'm saying?

[00:51:03] Because you helped.

[00:51:05] Yeah.

[00:51:05] We got a gatekeep.

[00:51:06] She said,

[00:51:08] she said,

[00:51:08] you know,

[00:51:09] I listened to an interview one time and it really gave me the strength to

[00:51:13] figure out what I was going to do.

[00:51:14] I was burnt all that work.

[00:51:15] I got unhappy.

[00:51:17] And an interview with hip hop star and rapper,

[00:51:21] Aquafina taught her that she should have an alter ego.

[00:51:25] And I'm like,

[00:51:28] it's right there.

[00:51:29] She's saying the quiet part out loud,

[00:51:30] bro.

[00:51:31] You know,

[00:51:31] you can just use rap and hip hop as an alter ego so that you can cover up

[00:51:37] whoever it is.

[00:51:37] You want to be a break into other industries,

[00:51:40] especially when you ain't black.

[00:51:42] It's a little appropriating.

[00:51:44] And it's a lot of appropriating.

[00:51:45] Stop it.

[00:51:46] Cut it out.

[00:51:47] I don't like it because now you almost making a mockery of black folks as a

[00:51:53] way to disguise your criminal behavior that black folks could never pull off.

[00:51:58] Mari,

[00:51:59] I got a good dislike into Heather in this.

[00:52:01] And I'm so sad that she's not in jail.

[00:52:03] I know.

[00:52:04] I know.

[00:52:05] She was like,

[00:52:06] we,

[00:52:06] we don't get any,

[00:52:08] like what,

[00:52:08] what I realized is we don't get any like direct footage of her.

[00:52:12] Like there,

[00:52:13] there's not any,

[00:52:15] um,

[00:52:16] like real.

[00:52:16] We see her like walking around to the,

[00:52:18] like to the car one time,

[00:52:20] but not a lot.

[00:52:20] Like all of,

[00:52:21] all of this stuff that we get from her is through her social media,

[00:52:25] through her,

[00:52:26] um,

[00:52:27] her startup,

[00:52:28] uh,

[00:52:28] promotional videos and stuff like that.

[00:52:31] So.

[00:52:33] Like I didn't,

[00:52:34] I also disliked her,

[00:52:36] but it was just also so weird y'all.

[00:52:38] It was just so incredibly weird.

[00:52:40] Their wedding.

[00:52:41] They had this wedding where,

[00:52:43] when it feels like it's at the end of their rope again,

[00:52:46] their wedding,

[00:52:47] they bought the gift cards for their wedding to give out at their wedding.

[00:52:50] But at the wedding,

[00:52:52] like the wedding's crazy.

[00:52:53] Cause the people coming down the,

[00:52:55] the aisle had big old feathers that you would fan somebody with.

[00:52:59] Then she comes out.

[00:53:01] Yeah.

[00:53:01] And a palanquin or whatever they call it.

[00:53:04] And then,

[00:53:05] but to the,

[00:53:06] down the aisle to a stage where she then raps.

[00:53:10] They said like almost an hour.

[00:53:13] And,

[00:53:14] and,

[00:53:14] and with all the,

[00:53:16] with all the clothing and the carrying out.

[00:53:19] Yeah.

[00:53:20] In a warehouse.

[00:53:21] It looks like the after party or the reception was in like a garage.

[00:53:26] Like it didn't look like anything.

[00:53:29] It was just,

[00:53:30] it's just weird.

[00:53:31] And that,

[00:53:31] that,

[00:53:32] that brings to the question that I had throughout this whole experience,

[00:53:36] because you're right.

[00:53:37] We didn't really get to see either one of them.

[00:53:40] Like in their own habitat.

[00:53:43] It was,

[00:53:44] it was,

[00:53:45] it was during the trial.

[00:53:47] My question is,

[00:53:49] do we,

[00:53:49] it was 50,

[00:53:50] 50.

[00:53:51] Do you,

[00:53:51] do we think it was 50,

[00:53:53] 50?

[00:53:54] How did the conversation come up?

[00:53:57] Well,

[00:53:58] that we should give it.

[00:53:59] Given Ilya's background where his dad was a,

[00:54:02] a scammer and hacker.

[00:54:05] He clearly,

[00:54:06] I would assume that he clearly was the one who had the tools.

[00:54:09] And like we said,

[00:54:11] he saw that his dad basically got no repercussions for his actions.

[00:54:17] So he probably had the skill and the know-how.

[00:54:20] He probably just needed Heather to be that pushing to be like,

[00:54:24] yeah,

[00:54:24] let's do it.

[00:54:24] You know what I'm saying?

[00:54:25] Like she seemed like the,

[00:54:26] the more motivated one,

[00:54:28] the more outgoing one,

[00:54:29] the more brazen one to say for sure.

[00:54:33] So I do think it's 50,

[00:54:34] 50.

[00:54:35] I,

[00:54:35] I think they,

[00:54:36] it looked like that is one thing I was like,

[00:54:37] oh,

[00:54:38] it's cute.

[00:54:38] They love each other.

[00:54:39] They're both nuts for each other.

[00:54:41] Like,

[00:54:42] like she,

[00:54:42] she called herself Razzle Khan and stuff.

[00:54:44] Cause she's,

[00:54:44] she had Turkish descent in her.

[00:54:46] If you looked at her,

[00:54:47] you'd be like this lady white.

[00:54:50] and I mean,

[00:54:51] that's where the caucus mountains are.

[00:54:52] I believe it's in that area.

[00:54:54] It's in that area.

[00:54:55] It's in that Kardashian land.

[00:54:56] You know?

[00:54:57] Yeah,

[00:54:58] exactly.

[00:54:58] So like,

[00:54:59] but she was just so obsessed.

[00:55:01] Like everything she did had,

[00:55:03] like,

[00:55:04] it,

[00:55:04] it seemed like it had to have those,

[00:55:06] like those flourishes and embellishments as,

[00:55:09] as what you would think would be of like Turkish culture.

[00:55:11] I don't know,

[00:55:12] but like,

[00:55:13] it'd be so funny.

[00:55:14] Cause she's standing there at her wedding and this garish,

[00:55:17] like gold jewels,

[00:55:19] like,

[00:55:19] so what you would think would be just not appropriate.

[00:55:23] And he's just in there in the regular tux.

[00:55:25] Like,

[00:55:25] it's just so,

[00:55:27] I'm not gonna lie.

[00:55:28] It was kind of funny.

[00:55:28] It was kind of like cute.

[00:55:29] It was kind of like a,

[00:55:30] you know,

[00:55:31] an odd couple type thing,

[00:55:33] but she was,

[00:55:35] she was infuriating.

[00:55:36] Her rapping was really bad.

[00:55:37] Her dancing was horrendous.

[00:55:38] She danced,

[00:55:39] she danced like a 60 year old woman,

[00:55:42] like with the hips.

[00:55:43] Oh God.

[00:55:44] Like if you don't like white people dancing,

[00:55:46] you will not like this,

[00:55:48] this documentary.

[00:55:50] It's,

[00:55:50] it's that typical,

[00:55:51] like what white people,

[00:55:52] how white people move and they're thinking they're rapping.

[00:55:54] Oh yeah.

[00:55:56] It was so cringy.

[00:55:59] but yeah,

[00:56:00] to answer,

[00:56:01] to answer your question or to address your question,

[00:56:03] Tyrone,

[00:56:04] Ilya did say in his plea that he admitted that he was the main hacker.

[00:56:09] He stole the usernames and the passwords.

[00:56:11] He operated alone.

[00:56:13] And then eventually he led her into like the laundering.

[00:56:18] She,

[00:56:18] she admitted to laundering and destroying evidence,

[00:56:20] including gold coins and stuff like that.

[00:56:22] So it does feel like he probably was doing the lion's share of the work,

[00:56:25] but,

[00:56:26] um,

[00:56:27] yeah.

[00:56:28] But the question about their relationship is really where I kind of want to go

[00:56:32] at.

[00:56:32] Right.

[00:56:33] Because Mario,

[00:56:34] you did say it seemed like that was cute,

[00:56:35] but it didn't actually,

[00:56:37] like,

[00:56:38] I don't think we ever see the two of them interact.

[00:56:41] Like in a loving situation.

[00:56:44] And for that,

[00:56:45] we don't get,

[00:56:46] we don't get any archival footage of them.

[00:56:49] We get social media and clearly she is the social board.

[00:56:55] And he isn't like,

[00:56:56] if we're just going off of social media,

[00:56:59] like that can seem anything.

[00:57:01] Like I'm,

[00:57:01] I'm,

[00:57:02] I'm only halfway social media girly,

[00:57:04] but my husband,

[00:57:05] he doesn't.

[00:57:06] So he's not social media.

[00:57:08] So,

[00:57:08] you know,

[00:57:08] you,

[00:57:09] you don't get,

[00:57:10] that's the one piece that I feel like we're missing.

[00:57:12] We don't have anything that feels like authentically them to know what

[00:57:17] their authentic personalities are.

[00:57:19] We don't have,

[00:57:20] we don't have anything.

[00:57:21] Well,

[00:57:22] I'll push back just a bit.

[00:57:23] I'll push back just a bit.

[00:57:25] Okay.

[00:57:25] We have firsthand accounts from their friends and family.

[00:57:28] That's true.

[00:57:29] nobody ever talks about the love they have for each other.

[00:57:33] A lot of people like we,

[00:57:34] like her friends,

[00:57:35] the black folks that she got around her.

[00:57:39] Well,

[00:57:39] they saying we was at her apartment all the time and he never came outside.

[00:57:42] Matter of fact,

[00:57:43] I used to be over there and he was going in the room.

[00:57:44] You probably didn't like those black folks.

[00:57:47] I mean,

[00:57:48] probably,

[00:57:48] I mean,

[00:57:48] but yeah,

[00:57:49] I mean,

[00:57:49] didn't her friends say that they knew,

[00:57:51] they understood why they got together,

[00:57:53] like her college roommates or something.

[00:57:57] They understood that they were both outcasts.

[00:57:59] And so like,

[00:58:00] it made sense that two kind of like offbeat kind of outcast people would

[00:58:03] find each other.

[00:58:05] But as far as like anybody being like,

[00:58:07] yeah,

[00:58:07] we went out to dinner with them.

[00:58:09] Any,

[00:58:10] any type of thing.

[00:58:11] We had a game night and they loved each other.

[00:58:14] You were using the air quotes.

[00:58:16] Every time somebody say marriage,

[00:58:18] how do you feel about the relationship?

[00:58:20] I don't think there was a relationship.

[00:58:22] I think,

[00:58:22] I think it was business oriented the whole time.

[00:58:26] Yeah.

[00:58:26] I think it was a thing.

[00:58:29] I,

[00:58:29] I didn't get any type of idea of,

[00:58:33] of loving.

[00:58:34] There was,

[00:58:35] there was one little clip that I can't recall that it was at the end.

[00:58:39] I remember it's at the end of the documentary where they showed them

[00:58:41] actually interacting with each other,

[00:58:43] but that was the only time that we saw something of that.

[00:58:46] So it might just be more.

[00:58:48] So just not having that information that's leading me to it,

[00:58:52] but also to what y'all were saying earlier about every documentary has an

[00:58:56] angle,

[00:58:56] has a bias.

[00:58:58] The documentary seemed to position it as if she was the one that initiated it,

[00:59:06] started it.

[00:59:07] I know what he stated in the documents right after the trial,

[00:59:10] but it seems like they were trying to push the narrative that she was the one

[00:59:15] that was like,

[00:59:16] this is what we need to do and influencing him in a way to do this.

[00:59:21] Maybe even knowing that he had that background,

[00:59:24] you know,

[00:59:24] with his father.

[00:59:25] That's a good point.

[00:59:26] That's a good point.

[00:59:27] It did.

[00:59:28] I don't know how much you agree,

[00:59:29] but it felt like,

[00:59:30] like it was like,

[00:59:31] she's the social one.

[00:59:32] He's the brains behind the social one.

[00:59:34] And she's out here doing all the stuff and he's in the background on the computer.

[00:59:38] But we didn't really see her do that much.

[00:59:41] We saw that she was doing some shit off,

[00:59:44] kind of like off to the side.

[00:59:45] Like she had a bunch of side missions,

[00:59:47] these other jobs that she had,

[00:59:49] like she kind of helped me pay the bills in the real time.

[00:59:51] Um,

[00:59:52] but you know,

[00:59:53] the actual hacking and moving around,

[00:59:55] I don't know how much of that she actually like of the money part,

[00:59:59] you know,

[00:59:59] or the,

[00:59:59] I don't think she did.

[01:00:00] Yeah.

[01:00:01] I don't think she did any of that hacking and stuff.

[01:00:02] I believe him when he said that he was the,

[01:00:04] the,

[01:00:05] the main hacker.

[01:00:06] And I,

[01:00:07] I see why they,

[01:00:08] they're probably positioning her as a mastermind because like they said,

[01:00:12] he was,

[01:00:13] he was a part of a,

[01:00:14] a startup that was literally going somewhere.

[01:00:18] Like it was,

[01:00:19] it was being successful.

[01:00:20] And what they probably didn't talk about in this thing is probably like when

[01:00:23] he quote unquote,

[01:00:24] walked away from that,

[01:00:25] he probably sold his shares and probably had millions of dollars from that.

[01:00:29] And that's,

[01:00:29] that's probably what they were primarily living off of him selling hit those

[01:00:34] startup,

[01:00:35] those startup shares and stuff like that.

[01:00:37] So,

[01:00:37] um,

[01:00:38] I,

[01:00:38] I think that's why they position it because to,

[01:00:41] you know,

[01:00:42] it,

[01:00:42] it,

[01:00:42] it makes a logical story to say like this man,

[01:00:45] he was on a up and up trajectory.

[01:00:47] He was the one who was going somewhere,

[01:00:50] going places legitimately.

[01:00:51] She was kind of like trying to still find her footing before they found each

[01:00:56] other.

[01:00:57] And so she convinces him to walk away from his growing startup,

[01:01:02] you know,

[01:01:03] in order for them to do this big old heist,

[01:01:06] you know,

[01:01:07] that's,

[01:01:07] that's,

[01:01:07] that's a story that people love to sell it.

[01:01:09] And I think,

[01:01:10] uh,

[01:01:10] didn't they reference Bonnie and Clyde in this and stuff like that?

[01:01:13] Yeah.

[01:01:14] So they did,

[01:01:15] they,

[01:01:16] they talked about how,

[01:01:17] you know,

[01:01:18] uh,

[01:01:18] Bonnie and Clyde were a couple that was aligned and it's hard for couples to

[01:01:21] pull off crimes like this because you have to get two people who are

[01:01:24] equally crazy,

[01:01:25] right.

[01:01:25] To be on the same exact page,

[01:01:27] to hear something that is outlandish,

[01:01:29] that like has a lot of holes in the,

[01:01:31] in the plan has a lot of like,

[01:01:32] and,

[01:01:33] and for them to be all in on it.

[01:01:34] And so to find two people who move in lockstep like that,

[01:01:37] it'd be very difficult,

[01:01:39] you know,

[01:01:39] Bonnie and Clyde,

[01:01:40] um,

[01:01:41] they,

[01:01:41] they do not in the same way these two people in,

[01:01:43] they end up getting shot up like a hundred,

[01:01:45] a hundred times.

[01:01:46] I believe like they shot them like Swiss cheese,

[01:01:48] them people.

[01:01:49] Um,

[01:01:51] and Bonnie and Clyde were willing to go down together,

[01:01:53] you know,

[01:01:54] uh,

[01:01:54] whereas this,

[01:01:55] it felt like,

[01:01:55] yeah,

[01:01:55] they were willing to go down together,

[01:01:56] but it didn't have like the holding hands off the cliffs type of moment

[01:01:59] that I thought it would have.

[01:02:00] Right.

[01:02:01] You wouldn't,

[01:02:01] you would think that if you had this type of money that you're trying to get

[01:02:05] to so desperately that you would have better plans and that you would

[01:02:08] have plenty of time to figure out what you do,

[01:02:10] but no,

[01:02:11] these are stupid criminals.

[01:02:12] These criminals are so stupid that the cops pull up and they're like,

[01:02:16] all right,

[01:02:16] we got a warrant.

[01:02:18] Oh,

[01:02:18] you can leave and get out of here or you can stay,

[01:02:21] but we about to search your place.

[01:02:22] And she says,

[01:02:23] okay,

[01:02:23] cool.

[01:02:23] Let me get my $2,000 cat real quick and goes over to try to lock her

[01:02:27] phone.

[01:02:27] And man,

[01:02:28] we see you.

[01:02:31] We can see you.

[01:02:33] Give me the phone.

[01:02:33] Give me the phone.

[01:02:34] And not only do they take that phone,

[01:02:37] but Tyrone,

[01:02:37] they find a little bag of burner phones to label burner phones.

[01:02:41] A zip lock bag.

[01:02:44] Burner phones in the drawer.

[01:02:47] It wasn't behind no,

[01:02:49] you know,

[01:02:50] no,

[01:02:50] no lock or anything.

[01:02:53] The kitchen drawer with the rest of the restaurant in you that you've been

[01:02:57] ordering tank out from.

[01:02:58] That's where it was at.

[01:03:01] I'm done.

[01:03:02] It is.

[01:03:04] I know we keep,

[01:03:06] we keep saying it is a wild story and it's recent,

[01:03:10] right?

[01:03:11] I think some of the dates that they were mentioning was like 2022,

[01:03:15] you know,

[01:03:16] anything that's like a new,

[01:03:20] I mean,

[01:03:20] old or anything like that.

[01:03:21] And I think the,

[01:03:22] the interesting part of it is that there seemingly possibly be like a part

[01:03:29] two,

[01:03:30] maybe because how it ended off was essentially was like,

[01:03:37] we can't talk about this no more.

[01:03:40] Yeah.

[01:03:41] Yeah.

[01:03:42] Oh yeah.

[01:03:43] Let's get into that.

[01:03:44] Let me set that up.

[01:03:45] So there,

[01:03:46] there comes a point in a lot of these cases and we,

[01:03:49] we were the,

[01:03:51] the two cases in the case interacts with another case.

[01:03:54] That's more important than it.

[01:03:55] And although this was $4.5 billion and you would think that that would

[01:04:00] probably take precedence.

[01:04:01] No,

[01:04:02] no.

[01:04:02] The intelligence community has other plans and they're like,

[01:04:05] Hey,

[01:04:06] you're creeping over into secret service area.

[01:04:08] And we got to shut that down.

[01:04:10] So you're out of your jurisdiction,

[01:04:12] you're out of your jurisdiction,

[01:04:13] buddy.

[01:04:14] Mari,

[01:04:15] you watch a lot of true crime.

[01:04:16] Is this something that you see often in the documentaries where it's at

[01:04:19] some point the well just runs dry because they can't tell us no more.

[01:04:22] I mean,

[01:04:23] you don't see it often because you most documentaries just kind of.

[01:04:30] Make what they can make.

[01:04:31] If they run into a wall,

[01:04:33] they normally don't necessarily tell you about that wall,

[01:04:36] but I feel like they,

[01:04:37] I feel like they want it.

[01:04:38] They put this in there for that.

[01:04:40] Dun,

[01:04:40] dun,

[01:04:40] dun.

[01:04:41] Like,

[01:04:41] but honestly,

[01:04:42] all that means is that the government is just doing the same stupid

[01:04:45] shit.

[01:04:45] Again,

[01:04:46] they're going to use them to catch a bigger fish.

[01:04:50] You know what I'm saying?

[01:04:51] I mean,

[01:04:51] technically they use them to close down alpha Bay,

[01:04:54] which is like the dark web.

[01:04:56] Yeah.

[01:04:57] Which was kind of,

[01:04:58] that was kind of,

[01:04:59] they're like,

[01:04:59] yeah,

[01:04:59] this is the dark web eBay,

[01:05:01] you know,

[01:05:01] trafficking,

[01:05:02] whatever you need.

[01:05:04] Yeah.

[01:05:04] Whatever you need.

[01:05:05] And they're like,

[01:05:05] so we shut that down.

[01:05:06] I was like,

[01:05:07] yeah,

[01:05:07] thanks.

[01:05:07] Like,

[01:05:08] I'm glad.

[01:05:08] Like,

[01:05:09] it seemed like y'all weren't going to,

[01:05:11] like,

[01:05:12] but yeah,

[01:05:15] like this is,

[01:05:17] they're just trying to make,

[01:05:18] they're just trying to make this cool.

[01:05:20] They're just kind of,

[01:05:20] they're like,

[01:05:21] Oh,

[01:05:21] we can't even talk about this.

[01:05:23] Yeah.

[01:05:26] And I,

[01:05:27] that's why you just didn't have,

[01:05:28] you know,

[01:05:29] I brought that up because you was talking about,

[01:05:31] we didn't have a run off the cliff moment for them.

[01:05:34] And I think that's why we honestly,

[01:05:36] instead of having a run off the cliff moment,

[01:05:38] we had a cliffhanger.

[01:05:39] Yeah.

[01:05:40] Unfinished.

[01:05:41] And I don't think they're going to finish it.

[01:05:43] Yeah.

[01:05:44] And maybe the case will open up to where they can talk about.

[01:05:46] That's why I said,

[01:05:47] maybe it's a possibility of a part two,

[01:05:49] but this is truly an unfinished story.

[01:05:53] And they pretty much tell you that.

[01:05:55] My guess is they just didn't have a good way to like wrap it up in a

[01:05:58] bow.

[01:05:59] Well,

[01:05:59] we do get some like breadcrumbs for what could be the reason why this

[01:06:05] isn't happening.

[01:06:07] Ilya from in jail.

[01:06:08] He wrote a letter to the filmmakers and thank them because he said,

[01:06:12] Hey guys,

[01:06:13] your instincts are correct.

[01:06:14] There's more to this case than meets the eye.

[01:06:16] And I was like,

[01:06:17] Ilya.

[01:06:17] Oh God.

[01:06:18] Ilya.

[01:06:20] So he said,

[01:06:21] look,

[01:06:21] y'all didn't get the big fish,

[01:06:23] but y'all,

[01:06:23] y'all on the right track,

[01:06:24] you know?

[01:06:25] So he just make,

[01:06:25] he just making sure we know that although we got him,

[01:06:28] we ain't get everybody in there.

[01:06:30] And if we keep prying,

[01:06:31] we might get to bigger,

[01:06:33] badder fish out there.

[01:06:34] Um,

[01:06:35] which,

[01:06:35] which leads me to talk about.

[01:06:38] Oh,

[01:06:38] you're his dad a little bit more.

[01:06:40] Um,

[01:06:40] his name is Eugene.

[01:06:41] Uh,

[01:06:42] and he,

[01:06:43] he was a hacker.

[01:06:45] Like Mari said,

[01:06:46] hacked up the bank of what was it?

[01:06:47] Tennessee or something like that.

[01:06:49] Illinois.

[01:06:49] I believe.

[01:06:50] Yeah.

[01:06:51] And,

[01:06:51] um,

[01:06:52] secret service came and knocked on his door and told him,

[01:06:55] Hey,

[01:06:55] like we found you and we,

[01:06:58] we know what you're doing.

[01:06:59] So let's go ahead and wrap that up.

[01:07:01] Let's go ahead.

[01:07:02] You got 30 minutes,

[01:07:03] you know,

[01:07:04] and 30 minutes.

[01:07:06] And he,

[01:07:07] he talked to them and the,

[01:07:09] the documentary kind of paints it as I,

[01:07:12] Ilya,

[01:07:13] his son was around and kind of peeped at when he was a child or,

[01:07:16] or those influences seeped into,

[01:07:18] yeah,

[01:07:19] he's peeking through the,

[01:07:19] like,

[01:07:20] what's dad talking about secret service war?

[01:07:22] And there's like part of his,

[01:07:23] his villain origin story is that he learned that the knee of one of

[01:07:28] these incredible hackers.

[01:07:30] And then by the end,

[01:07:31] we're like,

[01:07:31] when your instincts are correct.

[01:07:33] So that leads us to believe that.

[01:07:35] Yeah.

[01:07:35] He it's,

[01:07:36] it's like a family business and maybe Ilya knows more just because of

[01:07:40] his background.

[01:07:41] Um,

[01:07:42] because for the secret service to come to your home and reprimand your

[01:07:46] dad for this,

[01:07:47] I mean,

[01:07:47] you still make it,

[01:07:48] uh,

[01:07:48] uh,

[01:07:48] like a business decision and a personal career goal to actually go and do

[01:07:52] these same things.

[01:07:54] It says a little bit about that,

[01:07:56] you know,

[01:07:56] about the way you were raised and what you were raised around that.

[01:07:59] Maybe,

[01:08:00] you know,

[01:08:00] they incepted that into this kid.

[01:08:02] And now as an adult,

[01:08:03] he's a part of something way bigger than you would have expected.

[01:08:06] So I agree.

[01:08:08] It's,

[01:08:08] uh,

[01:08:08] like there's,

[01:08:09] there's some like,

[01:08:10] Hmm,

[01:08:10] that,

[01:08:10] that,

[01:08:10] that,

[01:08:11] that,

[01:08:11] that,

[01:08:11] that,

[01:08:11] that,

[01:08:14] that,

[01:08:15] that,

[01:08:15] um,

[01:08:16] it was just fascinating watching them because we,

[01:08:19] we really didn't talk enough about the rap.

[01:08:21] It's so bad.

[01:08:22] It's so bad.

[01:08:23] Every time they cut to somebody to ask them about the rap,

[01:08:26] they start laughing or they cover their face or they deny any action of the

[01:08:29] rap.

[01:08:30] They're like,

[01:08:30] yep,

[01:08:31] there were videos.

[01:08:32] There were definitely,

[01:08:33] um,

[01:08:35] and shout out to the poor intern who,

[01:08:37] who made the video because he was like,

[01:08:41] this is my first video,

[01:08:42] music video I made.

[01:08:43] And I mean,

[01:08:44] the song sucked,

[01:08:45] but at least I did.

[01:08:46] I got,

[01:08:47] who knows?

[01:08:50] That was nuts.

[01:08:51] That was nuts.

[01:08:53] Yeah.

[01:08:53] Yeah.

[01:08:54] So I don't know if there's a moral to this story.

[01:08:57] Uh,

[01:08:57] we have one very vocal victim.

[01:09:00] And yeah,

[01:09:01] I think that's the last thing I want to talk about.

[01:09:02] Cause I don't care about this victim at all.

[01:09:04] Sorry.

[01:09:05] I don't care.

[01:09:05] It was,

[01:09:06] he lost $2,000 and he wants us to really care.

[01:09:09] Sir,

[01:09:09] I don't care.

[01:09:11] But it,

[01:09:11] it kind of leads me to believe like,

[01:09:13] you know,

[01:09:14] in a situation where this man is a,

[01:09:15] there's a very wealthy man who got robbed,

[01:09:17] right?

[01:09:18] The Bitcoin industry,

[01:09:19] the,

[01:09:19] the site that they use or whatever was supposed to make it,

[01:09:22] was supposed to fix it.

[01:09:23] It's like,

[01:09:23] if you gave your bank,

[01:09:24] a bank,

[01:09:24] your money,

[01:09:25] right?

[01:09:25] The bank gets robbed.

[01:09:26] The bank owe you money.

[01:09:27] You know what I'm saying?

[01:09:28] The bank robber does owe you money,

[01:09:30] but the bank is supposed to make that hole.

[01:09:32] You know what I'm saying?

[01:09:32] Well,

[01:09:34] the bank,

[01:09:35] that's between the bank and this man,

[01:09:36] $4.5 billion out there in Bitcoin.

[01:09:39] Mari,

[01:09:40] it don't hurt nobody.

[01:09:42] You know,

[01:09:42] this is,

[01:09:42] it's a little bit of a victimless crime.

[01:09:45] You know,

[01:09:45] I just,

[01:09:46] I was like,

[01:09:47] I hate that they getting away with it,

[01:09:49] but at the same time,

[01:09:50] and,

[01:09:51] you know,

[01:09:51] who are you?

[01:09:52] Right.

[01:09:53] They like,

[01:09:54] they explained that,

[01:09:55] that,

[01:09:56] that the victim,

[01:09:56] he got back like a token,

[01:09:59] like a token that's equivalent for,

[01:10:01] to $1.

[01:10:03] which apparently might've been the equivalent to what he put in for his Bitcoin.

[01:10:08] Right.

[01:10:09] Yeah.

[01:10:09] He probably got like $10,000 and then like,

[01:10:12] like an extra five,

[01:10:13] $10,000 on top of that.

[01:10:15] Like he didn't get the full,

[01:10:16] whatever,

[01:10:17] you know,

[01:10:17] $100,000.

[01:10:18] But he's mad,

[01:10:19] he's mad because he would've wanted it back in Bitcoin because the Bitcoin that was worth,

[01:10:25] uh,

[01:10:26] the $10,000 when he got it robbed from him would now be worth,

[01:10:31] uh,

[01:10:31] $250,000.

[01:10:33] I believe he said.

[01:10:34] Yeah.

[01:10:34] So that's what he wants.

[01:10:36] He wants the Bitcoin back.

[01:10:38] And I'm just like,

[01:10:40] that man,

[01:10:40] sorry for you.

[01:10:42] What's the,

[01:10:42] what's the,

[01:10:42] what's that owner?

[01:10:44] That owner sat there in that chair with his legs crossed.

[01:10:48] He was like,

[01:10:50] we've given back,

[01:10:51] uh,

[01:10:52] the most Bitcoin in Bitcoin history.

[01:10:55] We,

[01:10:55] we gave back unprecedented amount as a company.

[01:10:59] He got back what,

[01:11:00] what he should have gotten back.

[01:11:02] And I was like,

[01:11:03] this man don't give two shits.

[01:11:04] No,

[01:11:06] not,

[01:11:06] not a shit was given.

[01:11:08] Cause it's all a gamble anyway.

[01:11:11] Right.

[01:11:11] There's no guarantee that you were going to get that money.

[01:11:13] You got back more money than you put in.

[01:11:15] Yes.

[01:11:16] You were robbed of the potential to get $200,000.

[01:11:18] $50,000,

[01:11:19] but they didn't actually take $250,000 out of your hand.

[01:11:23] So for me,

[01:11:25] ultimately,

[01:11:25] I know this became like this big,

[01:11:27] huge man in this case,

[01:11:28] uh,

[01:11:29] that was like the biggest heist ever.

[01:11:31] Literally the biggest Bitcoin heist ever.

[01:11:33] $4.5 billion has probably never been stolen ever,

[01:11:36] but who did it hurt?

[01:11:39] You know,

[01:11:40] if they were made whole and the Bitcoin,

[01:11:42] Bitcoin is basically like,

[01:11:44] like,

[01:11:44] you know,

[01:11:44] the money,

[01:11:45] not real,

[01:11:46] like it's real,

[01:11:47] but it's not real.

[01:11:48] And so I was wondering,

[01:11:50] like,

[01:11:50] how many resources are we wasted on this?

[01:11:52] You know,

[01:11:53] what are we really doing?

[01:11:53] Like,

[01:11:54] should I,

[01:11:54] I don't like Heather because she's a bad rapper.

[01:11:57] Well,

[01:11:57] she stole all that money.

[01:12:01] Should I care?

[01:12:02] Mari,

[01:12:02] am I tripping?

[01:12:02] Like,

[01:12:03] who was hurt by this?

[01:12:05] I mean,

[01:12:07] it's,

[01:12:07] it's so cold,

[01:12:08] right?

[01:12:08] Because I,

[01:12:09] you're right.

[01:12:10] I,

[01:12:10] it's really hard for me to care.

[01:12:12] You know what I'm saying?

[01:12:13] Because let's be real.

[01:12:15] If,

[01:12:15] if you have Bitcoin,

[01:12:16] it,

[01:12:17] nine times out of ten,

[01:12:18] you ain't start from the bottom.

[01:12:20] Now we're here.

[01:12:20] You know what I'm saying?

[01:12:21] More than likely you have money that you're able to put into the Bitcoin in order to hope that,

[01:12:27] that you could gamble with.

[01:12:28] Basically,

[01:12:29] you have money to gamble with.

[01:12:30] A lot of us do not have money to gamble with.

[01:12:32] You know what I'm saying?

[01:12:35] So,

[01:12:37] it is hard to be like,

[01:12:38] boohoo.

[01:12:39] Plus,

[01:12:40] that's the whole point.

[01:12:41] You went to Bitcoin because it's unregulated currency.

[01:12:45] It's deregulated.

[01:12:46] It's deregulation.

[01:12:47] They said it within like the first 10 minutes of the movie.

[01:12:51] So that's the whole point.

[01:12:53] If you're going to go a route that's deregulated and has,

[01:12:56] you know,

[01:12:58] has no,

[01:12:59] it's not backed by the FDIC.

[01:13:00] So they don't owe you your,

[01:13:02] your money back if it gets stolen.

[01:13:04] They,

[01:13:04] they,

[01:13:04] they owe whatever,

[01:13:06] they square up however they square up.

[01:13:08] So that's the biggest thing.

[01:13:09] It's like,

[01:13:10] this is a risk.

[01:13:11] You are investing in numbers on a screen.

[01:13:14] You know what I'm saying?

[01:13:16] Like,

[01:13:17] so it's,

[01:13:18] you know,

[01:13:19] but if,

[01:13:19] but it does feel,

[01:13:20] I do feel bad.

[01:13:21] Kind of like,

[01:13:22] you know,

[01:13:23] because some people did lose a lot of money,

[01:13:25] but this is what happens.

[01:13:26] This is what happens when you're on the new frontier of a,

[01:13:29] of a deregulated cryptocurrency.

[01:13:33] So.

[01:13:34] You win some,

[01:13:35] you lose some type stuff.

[01:13:36] Exactly.

[01:13:37] Tyrone,

[01:13:38] if someone told me for the next five years,

[01:13:40] they were going to steal $100 from Walmart.

[01:13:43] Every day.

[01:13:45] I would not care because Walmart will not feel that.

[01:13:49] Hilariously,

[01:13:50] Walmart would not feel that this person was made hand over fist,

[01:13:54] a hundred dollars a day,

[01:13:57] 365 days for the next 10 years.

[01:14:00] Walmart wouldn't miss it at all.

[01:14:02] No one is hurt by that.

[01:14:04] Walmart is still a billion dollar corporation,

[01:14:05] multi-billion dollar corporation.

[01:14:07] The same way it would take a hundred years for these people to spend $4.5

[01:14:11] billion.

[01:14:12] If they spent,

[01:14:12] uh,

[01:14:13] what is it?

[01:14:14] Uh,

[01:14:14] a millionaire.

[01:14:15] What was it?

[01:14:16] Uh,

[01:14:16] what was the math on it?

[01:14:17] If they spent,

[01:14:18] uh,

[01:14:19] $100,000 a day,

[01:14:20] a hundred thousand dollars a day.

[01:14:22] Walmart ain't going to miss that a hundred dollars a day,

[01:14:24] but you could get rich off of it.

[01:14:26] I'm not advocating for crime here,

[01:14:27] but Tyrone,

[01:14:29] these people are fine.

[01:14:31] Everybody is fine.

[01:14:33] Nobody's hurt.

[01:14:34] I think we should let them go.

[01:14:37] They're already free.

[01:14:38] So I guess.

[01:14:38] Yeah.

[01:14:39] Let them go.

[01:14:41] Let them go.

[01:14:43] The difference is Walmart is a corporation.

[01:14:45] We're talking about an individual.

[01:14:47] Exactly.

[01:14:48] No,

[01:14:48] no.

[01:14:49] He got his money.

[01:14:49] He got his money back.

[01:14:51] That 4.5 billion does not belong to that man.

[01:14:54] He got his money back.

[01:14:55] Now the 4.5 billion dollars they got out there.

[01:14:59] Yeah.

[01:15:00] Right.

[01:15:00] Write it off.

[01:15:01] You know,

[01:15:03] I don't,

[01:15:03] I don't know.

[01:15:04] If you,

[01:15:04] you expect me,

[01:15:05] look,

[01:15:05] this is where I get my,

[01:15:06] put on my socialist hat.

[01:15:07] If you expect me to care about 4.5 billion dollars in imaginary money.

[01:15:13] I ain't.

[01:15:13] Sorry.

[01:15:14] Right.

[01:15:14] I know y'all wanted to get them for,

[01:15:16] they broke some rules.

[01:15:17] They break the law.

[01:15:18] I ain't worried about the Bitcoin company.

[01:15:20] I was just talking about the individual that they highlighted.

[01:15:23] I'm talking about the multiple,

[01:15:24] the multiple individuals that they didn't highlight.

[01:15:26] Yeah.

[01:15:26] It's kind of the thing that I'm,

[01:15:28] I'm focused on.

[01:15:29] Cause there might be some individuals in there that didn't just.

[01:15:31] Didn't get made.

[01:15:32] Right.

[01:15:32] Broke $10,000,

[01:15:33] you know,

[01:15:34] at it.

[01:15:34] Yeah.

[01:15:34] You know,

[01:15:34] maybe it was like,

[01:15:35] right.

[01:15:36] Kind of like the last thing.

[01:15:37] Like I remember,

[01:15:38] I know people spend money on Denari money thinking it was going to pop off.

[01:15:41] Oh yeah.

[01:15:43] Oh,

[01:15:44] Oh,

[01:15:44] Mari.

[01:15:44] I remember that.

[01:15:45] That was a whole thing.

[01:15:46] I remember one of the OGs came up to me,

[01:15:48] like,

[01:15:49] you got to get into this.

[01:15:50] And I was like,

[01:15:50] this sound like a scam.

[01:15:51] And he was like,

[01:15:52] no,

[01:15:52] no,

[01:15:52] I promise.

[01:15:53] I was like,

[01:15:53] just the way you're so passionate about it makes me feel like it's a scam.

[01:15:56] And it was like,

[01:15:57] how did it work?

[01:15:58] So I was it,

[01:15:59] it was like foreign currency that was about to pop off and you had to buy it in gold.

[01:16:03] It was going to change and it was going to get a new mayor or something of that nature.

[01:16:07] And then it was going to start to rise the,

[01:16:10] the,

[01:16:10] the,

[01:16:11] uh,

[01:16:12] wait,

[01:16:12] isn't that correct?

[01:16:13] Isn't that what Forex is?

[01:16:15] Like foreign exchange?

[01:16:16] Basically.

[01:16:17] Uh,

[01:16:17] yeah,

[01:16:18] but it's prior to,

[01:16:19] it's prior to that.

[01:16:20] It was a whole,

[01:16:20] it was a movement.

[01:16:21] It was a movement.

[01:16:23] Every,

[01:16:23] like they would pull people,

[01:16:24] they would pull you to the side and be like,

[01:16:26] nah,

[01:16:26] you got to get into this denarii money.

[01:16:27] And then they send you an email and show you a packet.

[01:16:29] And you're like,

[01:16:31] and I'm just supposed to buy this.

[01:16:32] Like,

[01:16:32] yeah,

[01:16:32] if you start changing your money to this now,

[01:16:35] then when we switch over to the denarii system or whatever,

[01:16:39] then you're going to be rich when you come in.

[01:16:42] Yeah.

[01:16:46] I was like,

[01:16:48] bro,

[01:16:48] I didn't even know anybody else knew about that.

[01:16:50] Cause I swear,

[01:16:51] I was like,

[01:16:51] this is a scam and walked off.

[01:16:53] yeah,

[01:16:54] Denarii money.

[01:16:55] Look,

[01:16:56] a sucker is born every day.

[01:16:57] I'm like trying to look it up.

[01:16:59] Yeah.

[01:16:59] A sucker is born every day.

[01:17:00] And a lot of times it's on the backs of brown and black,

[01:17:03] and,

[01:17:03] and black people and people of color who cannot afford,

[01:17:06] but are looking for a way to break the cycle of poverty.

[01:17:09] I think those people need to be compensated if they are robbed of anything.

[01:17:13] But at the same time,

[01:17:15] I,

[01:17:16] I,

[01:17:16] I,

[01:17:17] it's going to be hard pressed for you to care because that $4.5 billion was seized from

[01:17:20] them people or is trying to be seized from the people.

[01:17:23] They got a large jumping about,

[01:17:24] I think they said like a billion is still out there in the web somewhere and

[01:17:27] they're trying to get it back.

[01:17:28] But where's it going?

[01:17:29] It's not coming to us.

[01:17:30] It's not subsidizing any of our tax dollars or,

[01:17:34] or any of our,

[01:17:35] uh,

[01:17:35] you know,

[01:17:35] infrastructure.

[01:17:36] It's just 4.5 million.

[01:17:39] Congratulations.

[01:17:39] You know,

[01:17:40] I'm happy for you.

[01:17:41] Um,

[01:17:42] but them people,

[01:17:44] they didn't really have to be in jail.

[01:17:46] You know,

[01:17:46] I kind of,

[01:17:46] I'm kind of okay with them being at home.

[01:17:48] Now that we talked her through,

[01:17:49] I'm like,

[01:17:50] she need to go to jail for that rap.

[01:17:52] This is so interesting.

[01:17:53] I'm really trying to figure out if this is,

[01:17:55] is it,

[01:17:55] is it the Iraqi dinar?

[01:17:57] Like,

[01:17:58] is that what it is?

[01:17:59] No.

[01:18:00] Yeah.

[01:18:02] That's crazy.

[01:18:03] They said it just resurfaced again.

[01:18:05] Yeah.

[01:18:06] Okay.

[01:18:06] It'd be popping up.

[01:18:07] It'd be popping up.

[01:18:08] That's crazy.

[01:18:09] Is it like,

[01:18:09] is it like those $1 houses in Italy?

[01:18:12] Did y'all see that?

[01:18:13] I kind of want to do that,

[01:18:14] but I think,

[01:18:15] I think they're racist over there.

[01:18:17] I mean,

[01:18:18] they racist everywhere.

[01:18:18] They racist here.

[01:18:19] Yeah.

[01:18:21] Yeah.

[01:18:21] They racist here.

[01:18:22] Um,

[01:18:23] yeah.

[01:18:24] Um,

[01:18:25] I found a,

[01:18:26] the Washington state office of attorney general says,

[01:18:28] these denari website scams are very popular.

[01:18:32] These websites are asking the consumers to send a check,

[01:18:35] wire money or pay cash upon delivery of denars.

[01:18:38] What consumers are not told is that denars can be redeemed only in Iraq

[01:18:42] as most of the established currency exchange houses and banking institutions

[01:18:46] cannot cover denar to us dollars.

[01:18:48] So on top of all of that,

[01:18:50] again,

[01:18:51] you can't even touch the money unless you can get to Iraq.

[01:18:54] You can't touch it.

[01:18:56] Who won't go there?

[01:18:58] Yeah.

[01:19:01] So,

[01:19:02] um,

[01:19:02] geez Louise.

[01:19:04] So that's our biggest height ever.

[01:19:07] Mari,

[01:19:07] I'm not gonna lie to you.

[01:19:08] I was watching it thinking,

[01:19:10] what the hell is this?

[01:19:10] But the conversation about it has been a blast.

[01:19:15] It's hilarious.

[01:19:16] It was hilarious.

[01:19:17] Y'all.

[01:19:17] I told you,

[01:19:18] I watched it.

[01:19:19] I was like,

[01:19:20] Chappelle,

[01:19:20] I think we need to talk about this because what is going on?

[01:19:23] Like it didn't seem serious enough for crime.

[01:19:26] Yeah.

[01:19:26] You're like,

[01:19:27] take this to play,

[01:19:28] play over at recap.

[01:19:29] That is just fine.

[01:19:30] Our partners over at crime scene.

[01:19:32] Thank you so much for seeing that.

[01:19:33] Mari and Sarah.

[01:19:35] Yeah.

[01:19:36] So yeah,

[01:19:37] I had a lot of fun talking about it with you too.

[01:19:39] Like,

[01:19:40] I'm still kind of confused,

[01:19:42] but like white collar crimes,

[01:19:44] man.

[01:19:45] Yeah.

[01:19:46] They get,

[01:19:46] they even get the good prison time.

[01:19:48] I remember when Martha Stewart went to jail and people were like,

[01:19:50] this is not.

[01:19:52] This is not.

[01:19:53] Okay.

[01:19:54] You got a look.

[01:19:54] I've never heard of a halfway house is when Martha Stewart,

[01:19:57] uh,

[01:19:58] got caught up.

[01:19:59] First time I ever,

[01:20:00] I was like halfway house.

[01:20:03] Halfway.

[01:20:04] Halfway.

[01:20:05] Hey,

[01:20:06] I understand halfway out,

[01:20:07] but halfway in is crazy.

[01:20:09] You know,

[01:20:12] but yeah,

[01:20:12] Tyrone,

[01:20:13] thank you for joining us.

[01:20:14] I know you had trepidation about this,

[01:20:15] but,

[01:20:16] at least you had,

[01:20:16] it's like,

[01:20:17] you had a good,

[01:20:17] a good time.

[01:20:18] You had a little fun.

[01:20:19] It's,

[01:20:19] it's,

[01:20:19] it's one of those documentaries that you have to talk.

[01:20:22] Like if you watched it by,

[01:20:24] if you watched it and you just didn't talk about it,

[01:20:27] then you'd be like,

[01:20:27] why the hell did I spend my time doing this?

[01:20:29] But conversation,

[01:20:31] that's,

[01:20:32] that's what makes it great.

[01:20:33] You know,

[01:20:34] so I was,

[01:20:35] like I said,

[01:20:36] please go watch Razor,

[01:20:37] or whatever shorty name is,

[01:20:39] and comment about it because I want to,

[01:20:42] I want to hear your thoughts.

[01:20:43] I want to get your pure,

[01:20:45] matter of fact,

[01:20:45] this is what I want you to do.

[01:20:46] I want you to pull up this video.

[01:20:48] And then,

[01:20:49] as soon as you hear what we're talking about,

[01:20:51] pull up biggest heist ever,

[01:20:53] keep this video up,

[01:20:54] and watch it,

[01:20:56] get to the point where Razor,

[01:20:57] and then immediately comment,

[01:20:58] because I want to get your initial,

[01:21:02] because this is wild stuff.

[01:21:05] But aside from that,

[01:21:06] it was a great conversation.

[01:21:07] I think,

[01:21:08] I am saying you should commit a crime.

[01:21:10] Just make sure it's commercial,

[01:21:12] computer science,

[01:21:13] IT related.

[01:21:14] Victimless crimes,

[01:21:15] y'all.

[01:21:16] Victimless crimes only.

[01:21:17] Victimless crimes only.

[01:21:19] That's what you did.

[01:21:20] Oh, God.

[01:21:21] Yeah.

[01:21:21] Thank you, Tyrone.

[01:21:24] Mari,

[01:21:25] what are we talking about next?

[01:21:26] Do you,

[01:21:26] do you know what we're doing next?

[01:21:27] We don't know.

[01:21:29] Hopefully,

[01:21:29] we can come back with the,

[01:21:31] the rest of Cross.

[01:21:33] Yes.

[01:21:34] Comments have been asking for Cross.

[01:21:36] Yeah.

[01:21:36] Yeah.

[01:21:37] We trying to get,

[01:21:37] we should all get Jason back on,

[01:21:39] on,

[01:21:39] on the,

[01:21:39] on the horn to cover the rest of the season.

[01:21:41] But I,

[01:21:41] I watched it.

[01:21:43] Okay.

[01:21:44] You know,

[01:21:44] I definitely got some things to say about it for sure.

[01:21:46] So,

[01:21:46] I think it'd be nice to do that.

[01:21:49] In the meantime,

[01:21:51] Tyrone,

[01:21:52] you and I got some business to handle.

[01:21:54] Yeah.

[01:21:54] We're going to talk about the madness.

[01:21:56] We're going to get into it.

[01:21:57] We're going to get into it.

[01:21:59] That's serious.

[01:22:00] So,

[01:22:01] yeah.

[01:22:02] Coleman Domingo starring in the madness,

[01:22:05] nominated for a Golden Globe.

[01:22:07] It just dropped,

[01:22:08] but they made sure they got him.

[01:22:09] And it is,

[01:22:11] it's,

[01:22:11] it,

[01:22:11] Mario,

[01:22:12] it's kind of like a,

[01:22:13] it feels like almost like one of those racial horror movies.

[01:22:15] I'm like,

[01:22:16] Jordan Peele.

[01:22:16] Yes.

[01:22:17] Yeah,

[01:22:18] exactly.

[01:22:18] Uh,

[01:22:19] I,

[01:22:19] I did watch the first,

[01:22:20] uh,

[01:22:21] episode and I was like,

[01:22:27] a lot of realism in a Jordan Peele movie though.

[01:22:32] A lot more.

[01:22:32] Yeah.

[01:22:34] Yeah.

[01:22:35] Like more like a thriller than a horror movie for sure.
