[00:00:51] Hey, what's up fam? Welcome back again to Recap Kickback. This time live on YouTube. That's right. It's me, Chappelle. And yeah, and that's Mari. And we are back to talk about House of the Dragon Season 3. It's over. It happened. And now we're going to talk about it with the Recap Kickback listeners. If you are joining us in the chat, we are live on Twitch. We are live on YouTube. And we are just going to talk out our feelings about Season 3.

[00:01:19] If you have any questions, of course, leave it in the chat. Let us know what you thought. And we'll be very happy to address that. Maester Mari's here, fresh out of the Citadel and the library and all this other stuff. So she'll be here answering questions as well. And you know me. I'll be here asking more questions. Because sometimes I don't know what's going on either. But Mari, this was a good idea. Yes. I'm so glad we're doing this. I'm so glad we have people in the chat. Please, please, please drop your questions. Thank you for joining us.

[00:01:49] I'm so excited. You know, I got to go back and watch a few more of the episodes. And I'm really into this retrospective. You know, like this review. This, you know, coming to Jesus moment. Just a coming together. So, yeah. I'm excited. Yeah, me too.

[00:02:13] But before you start, for all the listeners here, hopefully, if you're listening to us live, you have your cup. Because I got mine. Hey, there you go. Look at that. Team green. Team black. I heard the cups were flying off the shelves, Mari. How's it going? Yes, it's still going good. And I'll still be. Nobody. Uh-oh. Live TV, y'all. I think we lost it. Or did we lose me?

[00:02:41] Let me know if Mari is frozen for y'all. I'm back. Yes, Mari. Oh, you back. I'm sorry. It's storming over here, y'all. It's like it is thundering and lightning where I'm at. So, be patient with me, please. But what I was saying is with House of the Dragons or not, my cups are still available. Make sure you use the code RECAP. All caps. RECAP. You'll get 10% off and a free gift.

[00:03:07] So, if you are a recap kickback listener, you get a free gift and you get a percentage off of your House of the Dragon cups or whatever cups, honestly. So, it's been so fun. It's been absolutely so fun making so many cups for everybody. Yeah, no, I've been enjoying kind of watching you start your crafting or you're doing your little hobby or whatever. No, I've been very excited to support as well. A couple of my cousins definitely were like, oh, we got to get one.

[00:03:35] But when they said that, they meant they want me to get them one. So, you might have a few Christmas presents coming toward my family for House of the Dragon. Yes, Christmas presents. These are perfect for Christmas presents. Just make sure you get your order in as soon as possible so that I'll run into the Christmas traffic. I'll probably cut off like Christmas orders at a certain point. Like if you order before this point, guarantee before Christmas type thing.

[00:04:05] So, if you are thinking of a Christmas gift, get it now. Cups don't expire. You know what I'm saying? That's true. Get it now. Give it to them in December, you know. Get your gift. Auntie Ashcraft asked in the chat, are any of your cups dishwashers safe, Mari? Probably not. Yeah, they're not dishwasher safe because they're custom. Yeah. You know, they are little works of art, you know, we like to say. So, you got to treat them very carefully. You know, you don't want to upgrade.

[00:04:34] You don't want them falling. You don't want them in like extreme temperatures, stuff like that. So, the 24-ounce ones, they're good for like the lava style. Forgot I had water in that. Forgot I had water in that. For the lava style cups. I was like, I didn't have any water in it. That's good. But the 16-ounce cups, which are smaller, they're way more sturdier.

[00:05:01] So, if you want to give something for like kids, I would suggest the 16-ounce cups. And get like a little, you can get a little cartoon. Yeah, what Chappelle has, you can get a little cartoon on it for your kids. I suggest that. So, yeah. Yeah. A little bit. It's just only a little bit. No, I'm all right. That was hilarious. I see Khalil in the chat. I love my cup. Yeah, me too. Yes, Khalil. Shout out. Big shout out to everybody who was able to support. But if you haven't, of course, there's still time for that.

[00:05:29] But let's talk dragons, okay? Yeah. So, Mari, some of the feedback that I've seen online since the season has ended was about Rhaenyra's heel turn. You know, she ends up going full dark Rhaenyra in this last episode. But the season kind of tracks her, right? Like, I think the first day was like, the first episode was kind of like, well, not really the first episode, but the first episode that would have been the first episode of this season. Episode three? I think it was Rhaenyra's first day on the throne.

[00:06:00] Dirty riding, no good day. You know, that kind of thing. And then from there, the slow descent into madness. How do you feel about Rhaenyra's transformation in comparison to, let's say, Daenerys? Dany. Yeah, which wasn't so, wasn't pretty positive. So, you know, I do see how people have issues with Rhaenyra's heel turn here.

[00:06:28] I will say it's better than Dany's, but that's not saying much, you know? Auntie Ashcraft said Rhaenyra has been so one note this season. And that is kind of my biggest problem. It's kind of like, it's been like a simmering, like a simmering kind of desperate type of heel turn. And then when she turns, it's like, it's the biggest thing is she kills the Pope.

[00:06:57] She has somebody kill the Pope. Like, with no spoilers, we're not here to spoil. But like, in the grand scheme of things, it's going to get worse. And I still have a little bit of issue. We've been talking about it all season. In the book, she's kind of like this, like on 10 from the moment that Jace dies in the book. So, I've always wished that she was harder.

[00:07:25] I actually always wished that she was harder and then turned harder. You know what I'm saying? I complained about it or talked about it all season. It just felt like very, very like, like you said in the second to last episode, right? Was it when they heard that Aegon was back and she's in here having panic attacks and stuff like that? I'm like, girl, calm down. Like, she should have been about her business from the moment she lost her son.

[00:07:54] Because in the book, it says like, the first death, the death of Lucerys, Luke seemed to have broke her. And we got those moments in season two. And it said, but the death of Jace, something within her snaps. And it hardened her. And that's what I felt like we were missing throughout the season. But I don't know. What do you think?

[00:08:19] Well, I don't hate the depiction, but it's definitely different than what you're talking about in the book, right? Like, to me in the book, it sounds like you're describing what I would compare to as like Cersei and Game of Thrones. Again, not book Cersei, because I haven't read the book. But in Game of Thrones, Cersei was that she was the one who, if anybody was going to burn it all down. And I mean, we watched her do it. But if anybody was going to do that, you know, kill the Pope, you know, that I mean, that was right. That's right up her alley, right?

[00:08:46] Like Cersei really in her Rhaenyra bag throughout that entire show. But it's Cersei's like on 10 the entire time, right? Like season one, we come in and we're thinking she might be a normal-ish human. I mean, she's doing some incest, but we don't know that she's like crazy until we see Ned Stark run up on her, right? Ned kind of hits her with the, I mean, I reviewed the family tree and it's wild that these kids, they don't look like the rest of them. That's crazy.

[00:09:16] And he thought she was just going to let it go. And then from there we see, oh no, Cersei doesn't let stuff go. And she never changes up. She never switches up. There are definitely times where you can tell she's emotionally affected. You know, she's lost a couple kids. But for the most part, she's hard and she gets harder. And so I don't know if they felt like maybe they already told that story with Cersei the way she was addicted. But the way you're describing it, that's kind of what I'm thinking. So how true is that? Exactly. In comparison. Yeah, exactly.

[00:09:45] That's what it honestly should have been. But the problem is they're also, you know, you see I have Team Black here. They're also trying to make you want to root for her, right? Like they want to make you root for her. And they think that if you depict a hard woman like that, a la Cersei, people won't root for her. But they missed that point because people love how crazy Cersei was. They hated her, but they respected how crazy she was, you know?

[00:10:15] And so they should have done the same thing with Rhaenyra. Because us true Team Blackers, us true people who read the books were like, yeah, she should be pissed. She should be acting like a dick. But look at all this that they took from her, including her rightful throne. So I think they just kind of missed the mark by trying to make the character relatable. It's that whole thing.

[00:10:41] It's like they don't want the character that you're trying to get people to root for to be openly doing war crimes. So that's why it's the whole, did you take that baby's head in my name? It's giving her that plausible deniability. Like I said, I didn't mind that in this season. I like that depiction where she says one thing and then people do another thing. And then the history can say, well, she was wrong for this.

[00:11:08] But I would have really loved a little bit of a firmer stance. So next season or the last season, should we say, should be really telling with how they're going to take the Rhaenyra character and if they are just going to really let her like let loose, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I get that. I think Ms. Brown Sugar is kind of on a different page. So in the chat, big shout out to Ms. Brown Sugar, always supporting. My issue was more the opposite.

[00:11:35] She says, what happened to the brave and audacious Rhaenyra we were introduced to in season one? All that sniveling and sniffling for weeks on end felt like a completely different person. And I would agree. I think season one Rhaenyra, and I don't know if it's just the actress that they chose originally for the younger Rhaenyra. But to me, Millie Aycock. So for me, like I enjoyed her.

[00:12:01] She was very charming, you know, like although she was mischievous, but she was, like you said, audacious. She was bold. People were telling her no and she was still doing what she wanted to do. It feels like this version of Rhaenyra, not to take anything away from the actor, but this version of Rhaenyra, it's almost like, okay, now I've got to the place where I want to be, essentially, but I'm handcuffed by everything else.

[00:12:23] So I can't actually do those bold and audacious things without, you know, breaking all these other rules, right? Like without killing the people at Tumbleton, without doing this, without doing that. Where it sounds like the Rhaenyra of the book would have just did it, you know? Like did it. And then the next time it happened, it would have been worse than that, you know? And so this one was really trying to navigate it. Whereas like season one Rhaenyra, it seems like she probably wouldn't have gone for this. Yeah.

[00:12:52] And what the problem was, like the season one Rhaenyra was so good. It was like once Lucerys died, once Luke died, she just kind of stayed in that, that sad, you know, which of course, like losing a child, that grief stricken era. I, that's why I was okay with that for season two. But by the time we got here, she should have been out of it. She should have been snapped out of it.

[00:13:16] And like I said, specifically in the book, they specifically point out that after Jace's death, she literally snaps out of the grief. Like she barely grieves Jace in a sense, kind of in the book. It's like, she's like, are you serious? And she just mounts up. Because at that point, it's like she has given up so much, like so much has already been taken from her. She has to reclaim the throne.

[00:13:42] She has to fulfill the, well, in the book it's not the prophecy, but she has to accomplish her goal. Because she's already given up way too much from it. So the fact that she hadn't, she, like Ms. Brown Sugar said, the fact that she needs all these pep talks throughout the season is very annoying. It is, it is very, very annoying in a sense. And so, you know, is it better than Danny's? Yes.

[00:14:10] Do I think that the depiction can get better with the next season? Yes. I, I, I'm still have faith in them that they can do that, you know? But unfortunately it seems like this will have, this will probably be, this, this went from a like season one self-contained, like instant, instant classic season. Season two self-contained. That was pretty good. To like season three is going to be dependent on how season four goes and how you land the plane.

[00:14:40] It's, it's, it's just like Game of Thrones, right? It's everybody talks about season one through four classic, like no notes. Five is up there. Six, seven, eight all depended on the end and it was just not good enough. You know what I'm saying? And like, so that, that's kind of where I'm at with, um, with season three and it sucks because those first three episodes were so promising.

[00:15:08] I went back and watched them and they were just, we were, we were amped up for the season, you know? And then it just felt like it came to a screeching halt. Yeah. I want to comment on that a little bit more, but I do have to address the chat. Ashley Pate 5508 says, hello all been loving your recaps. Found you via Vampireless Stat Chats. Look at that. Yes. Yes. Thank you. That was the goal, right?

[00:15:32] Like we were doing Vampireless Stat, but we really are trying to like build an audience here who wants to talk about these shows or at least listen to us talk about these shows and join in on the conversation. I see Karen Foster, of course, in the chat, always supporting a little late, but we're, you know, we're always here. We were, we were a little late too. You had to know that was coming. Um, but yeah, uh, Rob Sestadino said that season three was his favorite season so far. Mari, how does season three to you stack up, uh, against the other two seasons of House of the Dragon?

[00:16:00] As far as your, not so much comparison to the book, but as far as your like entertainment value in a vacuum. Yeah. Yeah. In a vacuum. Like I said, season one was just so freaking good. Like, honestly, season one, I rewatched those episodes so many times. Like I would rewatch those episodes two to three times in the same week that they came out.

[00:16:29] And I was, because I was waiting for the next episode and that was before I was even, um, all right. Y'all clowning in the chat. Y'all throwing Mario off Khalil. I'm sorry. But yeah. So like, yeah, it was just season one was so good. Like I, I, I didn't even podcast about it for the first like half of the season, but I was like glued to it.

[00:16:54] And I just think it was, it was like book stuff aside, liberties aside. It was just great. Like, uh, the, the performances by Millie and, um, I forget the, the other young actors who played young Alison and then the, the time jump to the older cast. Just everything was just great to be quite honest. Viserys. Oh my God. Wasn't it? What's the name of the guy who did Viserys? His acting was amazing.

[00:17:23] Uh, I forget his name. Um, but like, I'm sorry. Like season one is, is kind of untouchable to me. Yeah. Um, I enjoyed season one. I think, I think the issue that Rob might be having, and it's, I guess now that I think about it, I'm having it as well. Is that it was so long ago, you know, we're waiting a year and change between seasons.

[00:17:48] And so I was like, yeah, I don't want to be a creature of the moment, but I just remember House of the Dragon season three a lot more, you know, a lot better. It just happened, you know, where it's like, if you want me to go back and find season one and tell you how I felt about it, I probably would get some plot points wrong too at this point. Um, the actor that played, um, Viserys in season one was Patty, uh, Considine, I think is his name. Yeah. Patty Considine. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then, and then Emily Carey was the actress that played, uh, young Alison Hightower. Yeah.

[00:18:18] So for me, I think it was, it was definitely good, but I think for me, the thing that's missing from season three of House of the Dragon is those moments that you got to talk about. I think that there are a couple of them, but even this far removed from House of the Dragon season one, I still remember the moment I became team green. When Alison walked in there in that green dress and they were like, oh, the banners or what was it? The lights are shining green now. And they stopped that whole wedding.

[00:18:46] I said, oh, oh, we got a spectacle here. Okay. This is, we got some drama. You know what I'm saying? Like those are the moments where you're like, damn, I'm not going to forget that. Um, and so I think it needed more of that. Cause Mari, my question for you now is what would you say is the biggest moment from season three? The biggest moment chat y'all put, put your biggest moment. Um, the biggest moment from season three. Oh man.

[00:19:14] Uh, like that's what I'm saying. Like the, how you want to say like the battle of the gullet, but then it was kind of like, it was all right. Um, you kind of want to say dragon fight, but that isn't even pivotal. Um, it was too short. It was too short. You can't even say, you can't even say, um, off turning because they, they, or they, they telegraphed it two to three episodes in advance.

[00:19:43] Um, uh, I mean, it's, it's slim pickings for me to be quite honest. Like I'm really, really Chris. Okay. Kristen Cole with the arrow to the face. That was pretty, that was, that was pretty good. Yeah. I think I'll, I'll, I'll go with that. Yeah.

[00:20:04] Um, Karen saying she enjoyed season one, but the, yeah, the moment from season three in the chat, JJ12792 says sunfire rising from the dead, uh, sunfire burning the, the, the, what are they? The, I'm gonna mess up. The mutants. The mutants. The mutants, children. She had me, I said, who was the mom moms? Um, but yeah, um, I think, I think those, those are good moments for sure. Um, I would, I would honestly say.

[00:20:35] I did like, I did like off turn. Right. So, you know, obviously you told me in the book, it is, it's not telegraphed, right? Like it just looks like all of a sudden this, this big shocking moment that off and cue the hammer. Like they switched up, you know, they, they acting brand new and it's basically because they can't write like that. You've given them dragons. They don't owe you anything. And even if they did, they want more, they want more because that's what people want. You know, look at how the Targaryens act with their dragons, right?

[00:21:02] They got dragons and they're gods and they deserve all of this stuff and it's all ordained for them. So they had that same, basically that same moment of like, I want more stuff. And so they, they turned here. I think it, I think it still landed for me because for one, I want it off the turn. Right. Cause the whole time I put like, I'm putting my position. I'm like, I know you didn't let your boss slap you up like that. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, what in front of everybody? And then I kept thinking, this man is sleeping outside. He's sleeping outside and he can't even hang out with his friends.

[00:21:31] And he got to be his ass when he hang out with his friends. So for me, I think it was less telegraphed and more than like, I was like, they were giving me the reason where I should kind of could squint and say, I support this. I'm in one of the Game of Thrones groups on Facebook and somebody said like off with off heads and all the comments were like, yeah, yeah. All things shit, you know, blah, blah, blah. Hang them. And I got the rope and I got in the comments was like, off was right. And then, oh, you know, tomatoes, they throw on bricks, they throw on hammers.

[00:22:02] But can't nobody tell me that they would let their employer do them like off got done. And same thing for you, really. So they gave you a dragon. Now you're supposed to be a slave. You're supposed to sleep outside and get slapped up and just show up for work unpaid, Mari. So I don't know. I didn't hate the whole switch up. They wouldn't get no money. I would. I agree. I don't hate the switch up in theory.

[00:22:26] But even the switch up, I feel wasn't even as satisfying because because they telegraphed it. They then had to do something that was shocking. So he missed the first half of the battle. You know what I'm saying? So was it really satisfying? Because they had to find him in the can. And then his new employer beat up on him, too. Right. And told him to get on the dragon.

[00:22:54] So it's like he never even had a like not even like a hero moment or a betrayer moment. He's still just a dumb fuck that can get on a dragon type thing. You know what I'm saying? Like, so was it even cathartic? Did he get his payback? You know, he burned up some of the army, burnt up the high towers. And then we don't even get any payoff. Exactly. We don't even get any payoff of like anybody's reaction to it.

[00:23:19] Like at most, the only person's reaction that we got to it that's still alive is Corliss, you know? Yeah. So like even the payoff for that, I was like, you know, it's kind of innocent. But yeah, I mean, as a season, that's what I'm saying. They use the season to lay the groundwork for the next season. And they need to, they better do it so that the next season is actually really good.

[00:23:49] I'm not moving on. I don't want to move on or anything, Chappelle. But there's a TikTok out there. I didn't want to send it to you because I know you don't necessarily care about spoilers. But I wasn't sure. But there's this dude on TikTok who basically broke down all the events that have to happen for the rest of the Dance of the Dragons.

[00:24:13] And he said, in order for them to get all of these events in, this is how they would have to do it in eight episodes for season four. And he was like, and I was like, there's no way. Like I was sitting there like when he was listing off what had to come. I was like, there's no way they're going to have to cut some of this. And I'm like, and I'm afraid of how it's going to get chopped up to be, to be quite honest.

[00:24:40] But yeah, that was my thought process. There was nothing real big that stood out to me. We did get a comment very similar to that in our YouTube comments from LaFamily Beats. Or Betts, I'm sorry. It says, do you really think the show is going to be able to show all the things that has to happen in season four? Or are they going to have to omit a lot? It sounded, Mari, like, you know, based on the amount of episodes this show normally gets,

[00:25:08] unless they're going to be supersized episodes, they're going to have to take out a bunch. Yeah, what they're going to have to do is they're going to have to compress a lot of it. They're going to have to compress a lot of it. They're going to have to simplify, there we go, some of the storylines. And yeah, and then they're going to have to completely cut some stuff out, I'm thinking. Like there's no way, like, or really kind of change some stuff up.

[00:25:36] Or really mess with the timeline, I guess. It's going to be iffy, I truly think, unfortunately. What do you think about this comment from Robert in the chat? It says, I'm with Grace. The biggest moment is, I'm alive! I'm alive! The return of Aegon. Yeah. I yelled when that happened because it was so funny. His face is falling apart.

[00:26:04] His dragon's face is falling apart. He rubbed up on his brother. His brothers, they're having two separate moments, right? Aegon, this is Aegon's triumphant return to kind of stick it to the man who tried to kill him. Like, you thought I was dead. You thought I was dead. I'm back, baby. Slap him around a little bit. And I'm willing to fight you, too, just like this. I got my dragon. Let's go. Round two. And on the opposite end, Aemon's just like, brother, I'm so sorry. I can't believe I did this. I don't know. I'm changing so much. I don't know. Do I want to help you? Do I?

[00:26:33] This is my girlfriend. This is my wife. I liked it. I like the return of Aegon just because we need a real villain, right? And we know we lost Ormond in the finale. We know that, you know, Allison's kids don't really want to be on the throne. Like, not the ones that she wants to be on the throne or would let. But this one, this one does. And so him coming back, I think, was kind of cool because they do humanize Aegon throughout this season.

[00:27:02] Like, they try to force us to really be like, maybe he ain't so bad. But then they, you know, make that light switch go off where he realizes, like, nah, I'm still nobility. I'm still royalty. I'm still better than y'all. And y'all not going to make me run. I'm not going to retreat. You know, we saw that from so many characters this season, Mario, where people were just like, I could do this, but it is my duty to do this other thing. Or am I nature to do this other thing? Or am I right to do this other thing? And I'm never going to strike. Kristen Cole did it. Aegon's doing it here.

[00:27:32] So what did you think about the I'm alive moment? I'm alive. You know, I, again, as Team Black, I was like, I guess, you know, we'll let you Team Green people have your moment. Aegon's back. Whoop-de-doo. He has his dragon. Whoop-de-doo. Oh, yeah. Whoop-de-doo. He is risen. Everybody still loves him all of a sudden.

[00:28:01] That man, Aegon ain't shit. But, you know, I think the show is more interesting when you have. Yeah, well, I think the show is more interesting when you have rootable characters that you can root against as well, right? Because, you know, I'm not actively rooting against Rhaenyra. I just want her journey to the throne to be very entertaining. It's kind of like Big Brother, right? Yeah. We don't want one side to just steamroll. Kind of want the back and forth, back and forth. And so that's what I'm always hoping for.

[00:28:26] So, yeah, a good foil for Rhaenyra because, Mark, she thinks that this man was risen from the dead, right? Like, that's the impression she was given. Am I incorrect in thinking that? I mean, she didn't have any proof. She didn't see the body. But at least the rest of the world is like, y'all said he was dead and now he's alive. Look, it's Jesus. I don't think she thinks he was risen. She always knew the truth. She always knew he was out and about. And she was just hoping. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:28:56] She was just hoping that he would never be seen from again. Dang. But now she's like, oh, no, he's back. And he has a better story. And like we know, propaganda and when you're going head to head, sometimes it's who has the better story that can win out. So, like, no, she knew he wasn't risen. She was just scared because she's like, dang, this is another complication I gotta deal with. You know, so I did.

[00:29:26] I like that moment. It'll be interesting to see what they do with those two characters going forward. You know, like Eamon and Aegon. Yeah. Yeah. I want to see what they do with Aegon's movements going forward. Because like I said in the book corner, his movements aren't as well telegraphed in the book.

[00:29:54] In the book, him and Eamon, both of them, they're kind of like they pop in and out. People think they see sightings of them, but it's not really confirmed until when they pop out, they pop out. You know, sometimes you gotta pop out and they do. And it's a really big moment. And so, it'll be interesting to see how this show, if the show actually does that, lets them have off-screen time and then pop back in.

[00:30:23] Or if they try and follow those characters. Which, again, honestly, they probably shouldn't. Because there's a whole bunch of other stuff happening. That, you know, if you can get to the other stuff while they're going to where they need to be, that's what you should do. But a written book is different than a paid television show where you have all of these big name actors that you are paying per episode.

[00:30:51] And you need their faces on said episodes. You know what I'm saying? So, that's kind of the thing there. Okay. Well, I'm glad you mentioned that. Jeremy, loyal listener, you know, supporter in the chat says, My favorite season three moments are the ones between Allison and Rhaenyra throughout the season. That being said, what characters were underserved in season three? I feel like I wanted more from Corlys and his line.

[00:31:18] We also get that echoed in the chat by Ashley. Mari, the sea snake was largely absent from a lot of the events. It was like he was there and then he'd go do something, you know, and kind of leave his kids around. I don't know Corlys's fate, you know, in, you know, where they're going with the show. I have no clue where him or his kids are about to do. I have nothing.

[00:31:41] But I would love to have more of a fleshed out storyline about Corlys and, you know, his offspring with Alan and Adam and even their interactions with Bela. But does the book address any of this any further? Yeah. So, um, first off, I do want to say that the Allison and Rhaenyra scenes this season have been honestly top notch. Just amazing. They acting. Yeah.

[00:32:11] Olivia Cooke. Acting. She's acting. That look she gave her. They like this. This is Dayron. She was like. No. The look when the look when Eamon kissed her. She's like. Yeah. It's like she she she's been killing it this season. So I agree. Those those two characters. All of this is, again, made up. But it is. It fits.

[00:32:41] It still fits everything. So I've been loving their interactions with Corlys. This this is actually pretty book accurate in a sense. Like Corlys is like. He's ducking and dodging. He is. This is this is accurate. Yeah. The I thought that the black family reunion, the gullet scene, that was perfect. And I think it was perfect because they were going to go their separate ways, as we saw.

[00:33:09] And Corlys, I think, is he's the avatar for the audience. Eric, where he will be the next for the next season or two. Next season. Because like he's he's committed himself to a side. He has lost everything. And now he is trying to rebuild and he is right near his hand.

[00:33:35] But he is also still trying to survive in this world. So him ending up prisoner of Ormond. Now he is technically a prisoner of Daemons as we we leave this. This is pretty true to to Corlys's book. And I and I do agree, I would love some more Steve Toussaint on on my screen. But I do think this is good for him to be away from it because we're getting more Alan.

[00:34:05] This stuff for Alan is is really I know it's like it's really bad for him because why is he getting corrupted by Rainier? But the character development development for Alan and like Bela and their whatever they got going on has been very compelling. And even the stuff with Adam and luckily they haven't leaned too much into a full love triangle or anything like that.

[00:34:32] So if Corlys has to step back so we can get more from Bela, Alan and Adam, I'm fine with that. You know, I have I have enjoyed their scenes, but it's just all it's all been slow character moments. Right. Auntie Ashcraft puts in the chat. I was more impacted by Alan's turn than Rhaenyra's. And I think, yeah, I think it's a lot more interesting. Right.

[00:34:58] Like Rhaenyra's is like it seems like that's the natural progression of things. Right. Like she's the queen. They don't want her to be the queen. Like eventually, even if they hadn't killed her kids, she was going to get here one day. Right. Like just with all the tape that they are putting up in front of her, just they won't let her do nothing. You know, it's basically just the the green sabotaging, but also the patriarchy. Like we talked about this. She would have got there eventually. Right. Right.

[00:35:21] But Alan, you know, we see somebody who is kind of like he's like he's nameless, but he's he's he's a hard worker. He's he's he's kind of following the footsteps of his dad in a weird way, but he's not claimed by him. And by the end of this, he has stepped into Corliss's spot almost as the hand. And, you know, he's making moves. Right. Like he's already claiming Driftmark, you know. Hey, well, y'all know I'm going to be our boss in the future. So get in line.

[00:35:45] And he's having this romantic thing going on with his niece, which is typical of House of the Dragon. Now, I don't really know what to think about the Alan moment versus the Adam moment, because when Adam shows up, Adam also had a moment. Right. Like it was just like a there was some chemistry. I don't know what it was. Maybe it's just like, hey, we you my niece, you know, maybe that kind of chemistry.

[00:36:10] I don't know. But and it seems like by the time we got to the finale, Alan and Adam are not on the same page. Alan is backing Rhaenyra and Adam seems like he's like, I don't really know about this. But Adam has a dragon and Alan got one of those. So, you know, we've seen brothers collide on this show so many different times.

[00:36:35] I mean, you know, famously the the about the battle of the of the Cleganes, the Clegane Bowl, you know, with the mountain and the hound. Yeah. But I don't know, Mark. I don't know if I want to see them maybe get on the same page or if it'd be more interesting to see them kind of fight it out. I don't know. So remember, like, again, I was reminded with the rewatch. Remember.

[00:37:01] Alan has always been the I'll take what I can get one. Right. He's always been the the I'm gonna take the orders. I'm this the ship's hand. He's shaving his head bald because he doesn't want that that white Valyrian hair showing. But even and he's the oldest, of course. And then Adam has always been the dreamer. Adam is always the one who's like, yeah, he's working in the shipyards.

[00:37:28] But he keeps he is saying, like, I feel like there's more we should be doing. We are we are bigger than this. And. Adam ends up with the dragon. The dragon chooses him because there's a connection there. But he's still in the shadow of Alan. Right. Right. Adam is clearly showing care for Bela, trying to make sure she eats, trying to make sure she sleeps. They're spending more time together than anything.

[00:37:55] And you could tell he's dropping hints and she's not picking him up. Right. She immediately is is clearly feeling a connection with Alan and goes for it with Alan because it's just that that that quietness, I guess, that quiet calm that she she's attracted to. So we're getting this this picture of with Alan, things are coming easy to him, things that he doesn't necessarily want. We're coming easy to him.

[00:38:22] And now when we get that turn at the end, it's him like basically stepping into his birthright. They're like, yo, our Lord might be being held hostage. He's like, I am your future. I'm your Lord. Yeah. Yeah. I'm in charge. Yeah. I'm in charge now. Rhaenyra is telling him, you are the blood of old Valyria. You don't give a crap about what this pope says. Kill him. Right. And Alan stepping into it.

[00:38:50] He kills he kills the their pope. He's sitting there. You can still see he's still struggling with a little bit as that blood leaves that sword. But but Alan is really starting to step into the role he is now accepting as his birthright. Right. He's he's telling Corliss like, man, you just now claim me. You claim me now like he's he's really like stepping up. So, you know, they might not be on separate pages.

[00:39:20] But I will tell you, don't you know, don't fear that like they're still family. You know what I'm saying? And they are still currently on the same side, you know? So it's just it's just the development of the two of them and how they're different posts are making them, you know, drift apart a little bit.

[00:39:42] But Adam is is he's seeing sides of Rhaenyra being a dragon rider that he just does not necessarily agree with. And Alan is doubling down. So it's very it's so good. The character development between all three of them. Bela is still I'm still kind of confused where they're going with her character, but it's whatever. We we haven't talked about we haven't talked about Bela at all.

[00:40:12] My girls. First and foremost, we got to get it. We got to get her in the hands of a salon. We got to do something. We got to do something. She's been she's been dragging all the time. It's just right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We got time. But between her and Raina, you know, hey, we down bad. She's still there. Really, really got this girl in a in a tizzy. OK.

[00:40:41] Do we know where Sheep Stealer is currently? I think it it got attacked. It got jumped. First of all, they jumped my dog, which is. Oh, you talked about Raina. You said Bela. I thought I said Raina. OK, you going. OK. Listen, you know me. Charlotte McGee. Angela G. You know. Yeah. Yeah. Girl, the Sheep Stealer then took her off. Basically made her his pet. You know, he was feeding her.

[00:41:10] Bringing us sheep every now and then. Like here, you know, stay out of trouble. But then he gets jumped by the other dragons. Yeah. He gets jumped by the other dragons. She's taken away. I don't you know, I don't want you to spoil anything. No, I would love to see her kind of reclaim some type of power because she you know, I know, you know, she's kind of like this this character Nettles in the book. You know, that's been heavily talked about for sure. Nettles is clearly not in this show, but they did kind of reference Nettles in relationship to her.

[00:41:39] They did. But I would love to see her have something, you know, like of all the characters who just ain't been able to catch a break. And don't get me wrong. A lot of it is her fault. You know, she definitely did some stuff, but I would love to see her become a fully formed character instead of just like this down and out, you know, woman who just keeps getting kicked around by everybody, you know? So you see a world where we get a little bit more of a positive spin on her. I know. I want to.

[00:42:08] But like the fact that they are combining Raina and Nettles storyline, it's just kind of. They're they're just kind of making a lot of it up by the seat of their pants, to be quite honest, because the things that Nettles does in the book. Raina cannot do here in the show. This is this is not a this is not a spoiler.

[00:42:37] This this is extra context in the books. Nettles is thought to possibly be the lover of Damon at one point in the books. So there's contradictory evidence. Yeah. There's contradictory like thought processes in the histories. So some histories are saying like Damon and Nettles, they would they would eat together. They would drink together.

[00:43:07] They were always by each other's side. Basically, Damon and Nettles was was at one point kind of doing what what Adam and Bela were doing. Like they were like searching for Vhagar throughout the Riverlands and stuff like that together. And some people would say like, oh, they were lovers. Well, some people said they would share meals as if they were father and daughter. So I think that's where they got the the thought process to combine Raina and Nettles.

[00:43:34] Because, again, in the book, I've said this before. Again, not spoiler. Raina is like she was in Pintos or whatever. She was like not doing nothing really during the dance because she didn't have a dragon. And she she doesn't get a dragon in the book until, you know, much later. And so like so they they they they merge these storylines together because they merge these stories and lines together.

[00:44:03] I do think they do a pretty good job of giving us the moments with her and Damon, where it's like Damon can finally show that he is a father figure to her. But now that we've had the dragon fight and they've taken her away from Sheepstealer, they've kind of written her into a corner. So I don't know where they're going to go with it, because. Again, how Nettles leaves off, this could just be the end for Raina and Sheepstealer,

[00:44:30] to be quite honest, like this could be it in a sense, because there's not much if they're going to keep her separated from Sheepstealer, then there's nothing there's nothing more you can do. I think I would like to see Damon in season four as a father to her. And not, you know, we we only have so much time. Right. So that's yada yada in the background. But, you know, like you were saying with Nettles, oh, they spent all this time together. She's back at home. Her stepmama hater.

[00:44:58] So, you know, she she did. She did. She did lead to the death of this other, you know, the child and stuff like that. So it's I'm not saying this without being, you know, without merit. So written into a corner. Right. But Damon now can be like, no, this is my baby. You know what I'm saying? Like I could finally be the father that I was never for you. You know, I would love to see like crazy right now. Because remember, right now just snapped. Right. We only know right now's reaction to all these other events prior to her break.

[00:45:26] Now, after she tells everybody I'm the prince that was promised when she goes back in there and she sees Raina. It's not all like, oh, you know, I've never she gonna slap the hell out that girl. You know what I'm saying? And I would like Damon to be there to be like, whoa, you know, slow down, baby. You know, that kind of thing. So maybe you could get more of that because, again, the things we saw Raina deal with this season, we saw them with Raina kind of under duress, but also like kind of kind of solid sound in mind. Right.

[00:45:56] You know, it's like she was stressed. Don't get me wrong. But she was making measured decisions based on the information that she had. She was really trying to be like Viserys. Viserys is gone. Right. That that has left the station. So now I wanted to go inside. Like when she see off, he got to die. When she see Alan, he got to die. You know what I'm saying? I mean, huge. He got to die. Like I don't want any question anymore. You know what I'm saying? Y'all said she broke. Let her break. And so, you know, yeah, maybe Damon will have to kind of be a shield for Raina's behalf.

[00:46:25] And again, that paranoia that she had about all this happening and then you get the traitors turning. It, you know, that can be a participating event to really make her just look for treachery wherever she looks around her. And we all know in all of Game of Thrones, if you're looking for treachery, you're going to find it because you are going to cause it, you know, type of thing. So that is a great point.

[00:46:55] Like, yeah, Raina's story, I don't know where it goes from here. But, like, I really hope that baby gets some sort of redemption or something because, again, they wrote that she was there to quote unquote cause the death of Jace. That's not in the book. You know, her self-imposed isolation and exile was on her.

[00:47:21] And then, so it's just kind of like, they could do something tricky. Like somebody said, she could see where, she needed to know where Raina is. You know what I'm saying? Maybe we'll end up like something like that. Yeah. At least a spot. Yeah. Exactly. So, it'll be interesting to see. It'll really be interesting to see how they write themselves, write this going forward, to be quite honest. I hope they address it.

[00:47:51] So, B underscore Stagner in the chat says, let's talk about that witch, Alice Rivers. Yeah. Is this the witch from Game of Thrones? Mari, is there any world where that same red witch, the one that led Stannis into sacrificing his daughter, that will go on to have, you know, blood magic and demon babies out of her own, you know, kind of thing. She died.

[00:48:21] She walks out into the sun at some point and kind of dies, I think after the long night, if I'm not mistaken on that timeline. I think that's when she, I think that's when she finally went out. I can't remember. I truly cannot remember. She's also a billion years old. We saw her take off that pendant and now all of a sudden, you know, we find out that she's a million years old and she's been out here having sex with everybody. So, Mari, what do you think?

[00:48:45] Is there a world where this Alice Rivers has, you know, left Heron Hall and she's out here still pulling the strings in the Game of Thrones? Probably not. One, because that witch, Melissange, she's a red witch, which is like a specific, you know, the follower of Azor, Ahai, and all of that.

[00:49:06] So, that's normally reserved for witchcraft and magic that originates in Essos, right? Alice Rivers is definitely of like a first men variety of like Children of the Forest, like original race style witch. And you got to remember, right? So, at this point in the timeline, dragons are everywhere.

[00:49:34] So, when dragons are everywhere, there's more magic in the world. So, Westeros, Essos, Game of Thrones in general, or Hati in general, is imbued with more magic. There's always a dreamer in the Targaryens. Like, it is just more magic in the world when dragons are in it. So, the fact that we have a practitioner here like Alice Rivers makes sense, right?

[00:50:01] The fact that we see the, I forget, I keep wanting to call them the Children of the Forest, but they're not the Children. It's the Green Men. The Green Men. Green Men. On the Isle of Faces. They are out and about and plentiful. But, you got to remember, once the dragons die in like a few decades or so from now, once literally all the dragons are dead, magic leaves the world for a point in time. You know what I'm saying?

[00:50:28] Like, remember, like there's not as much magic in the world by the time the event of Game of Thrones starts. Right? So, when we do get introduced to Melisandre and the witch, and at first they say those red witches, those red priestesses, they can be glorified like sex workers. They can be glorified like just like panhandlers.

[00:50:56] And even in the books of Game of Thrones, because of the events of Dany hatching her dragons, in the original series, we see more magic slowly coming back to the world. And even Melisandre herself talks about how throughout the books, her magic is getting stronger and stronger. So, unfortunately, I do not think it can't be the same person because of that loss of magic for a good chunk of time.

[00:51:26] That would be my thought process. Okay. Yeah. Mm-hmm. What do you think about Alice Rivers as a character in Lock to Harrenhal? Perfect. I loved it. I loved it. It's the same characters from the books. It's just a more fleshed out version of her. It makes sense and it doesn't disrupt the overarching storyline that's going through the narrative.

[00:51:56] So, I loved it. I love learning more about her. I love hearing her backstory. I love like just the sheer magic in Harrenhal. I got to change. That's what I got to change my name to. So, Mari be knowing. Mari be knowing. The fact that we get to see the magic in the world through Harrenhal. Even we ragged on it for season two, right? We ragged on Damon wandering the halls of Harrenhal for like four episodes.

[00:52:26] But it still was very cool stuff. You know, it slowed down his storyline. But it was cool stuff. So, I like it. Alice is definitely in the books. Alice is in the books. And she's doing everything that she's doing in the show in the books. It's spot on. Just we know more about her. Yeah. They did a really good job during this season of just fleshing out her character. Because I think, like you said, we spent a lot of time with her in season two. But I didn't care. You know? Like, it was just her popping up. Because we were really...

[00:52:55] We were spending time with her physically. But we were really in the head of Damon the entire time. Right? We were watching his incest dreams and all that kind of stuff. You know, his things like he was battling with the Viserys thing. You know? But she was there. This season, it was like, oh, we finally get to see her motivation. Right? It's like, don't leave me. I'm tired of being alone. You know? Like, I'm not doing this again by myself. And you can do this with me, Eamon. And Eamon, as you said, kind of disappears in the book.

[00:53:22] And so, it wouldn't be a bad spot for him to go and just like kick it. I mean, where else are you going to go? You're not going to be the king. Your brother is the king. So, unless you all in on, you know, the king, quotation marks. But unless you all in on, okay, I got to go kill Rhaenyra. And then I'm going to kill him so I can sit on top of the throne that you know nobody wants you on. You might as well just stay where you are. You know what I'm saying? Like, all right, whatever. You might as well chill. So, yeah. I like how they spent so much time with her character.

[00:53:50] I want to ask you about some of your standout characters from this season. Which actor or character do you think, like, this was like a breakout or a really good season for them overall? Overall, you got to go with Matt Smith and Damon. Matt Smith is so good. Just amazing. Just the breadth of what he's been able to show us as Damon Targaryen is just kind of unmatched.

[00:54:18] Like, it's one of those things that if this wasn't a fantasy show, he should really get an Emmy, right? Because we've seen Damon, like, Damon the Conqueror. Damon the, like, madman. Damon, you know, we've seen the hard side of him. We've seen Damon the father figure here. The exasperated father, right?

[00:54:46] We've seen Damon the diplomat. Again, it's not tactful. It's not good. It's not a good or tactful diplomat, but we've seen just his thought process of him sitting on a small council and throwing a cup at Lord Manderley. Like, Matt Smith really has been a light this whole season. Just, and Damon, and again, Caraxes is legit my favorite dragon.

[00:55:14] Again, I'm going to say it every time I'm on the podcast. Caraxes and Damon, they talk about how the dragons, we talked about it too, but, like, how the dragons and the rider normally, like, their personalities fuse together. And Damon and Caraxes are, like, a match made in heaven. And the way that Damon, since season one, we've seen his mastery and knowledge of dragons.

[00:55:40] You know, from season one when he's going in the dragon mod looking for an egg to give to his supposed pregnant mistress, you know? You know? And him knowing, like, just watching him basically be the dragon whisperer for three seasons now. And just thinking, he reminds me, like, of my dad. Like, we had so many dogs growing up. And my dad was just so good at training dogs.

[00:56:06] It always put me in constant awe of him because that's what beasts like dragons, they respect that authority, that heir, that Caesar Blanc. Like, he's the Caesar Blanc. The dragon whisperer, for real. Yes, exactly. The dragon whisperer, yeah. So it's just like, just seeing Matt Smith do all of this as Damon, it's just been great, to be quite honest. Yeah, I mean, I've been rocking with Matt Smith since Doctor Who. He's not my doctor, make no mistake.

[00:56:36] David Tennant is still my doctor. But he doctor number two for me. You know what I'm saying? Chris Eccleston, I see you, number three. I see you, brother. But yeah, number one is always, you know, like, this man has, like, really shown himself as an actor to me. Like, as somebody I can really, really support. Like, Doctor Who is kind of, I won't say it's one note, but it's kind of wacky. You know what I'm saying? And so I don't know if I knew that he had these levels to him. I haven't watched a lot of his other stuff outside of that. And so this definitely made me a big fan. And I agree.

[00:57:03] I think Damon's character has been the one with the most range. And I think Matt Smith has been able to exude that range throughout in a way that I've been really, like, you know, like, as much as I'm team green, you know, it's like you can't, you almost can't help but root for Damon. You know, as despicable as he is, and I have to remind people that this man sucks. I have to remind people. That's how you know he acts. Because they're like, Damon's one of the good ones. I was like, Damon killed his wife. You know what I'm saying? Let's slow down, all right?

[00:57:31] Matt Smith brought so much charm to this character, Marty, that we like, we gonna stick beside him. And that is the thing. Matt Smith is like, he, when they announced his portrayal of Damon, I thought that was perfect casting. Because Matt Smith has always been the, like, punchable guy who does the absolute worst that just still will charm your pants off of him. I remember watching him in The Crown as Prince Philip or whatever. Yeah.

[00:58:00] And he was, yeah, he was young Elizabeth's husband, Philip Mountbatten. And he was annoying. Like, I hated him in The Crown. I hated him. I'm like, oh my God. Why are you so mean to this lady? Like, and it's kind of the same role, right? Because Queen Elizabeth is a queen. He is king consort. And it is, it's consort. It's kind of the same role, just with, with dragon.

[00:58:27] So, uh, Matt Smith is good. He's great. Yeah. He's, I mean, like, how can you not love his depiction throughout this entire show so far? I mean, even like kind of his big reveal when he's killing the crab man back in season one. And it's like, yeah, like they, they shouldn't have won that fight, but he just kind of wielded into existence. And he's like, no, I'm just going to go get him. And he did. And so from there, you're like, damn, kind of a badass. Right. And then since then, we've been watching him go through these changes, but he has yet to not be a badass.

[00:58:56] Now he did get his ass whooped. That man had hands, John Roxton had hands and feet for that man. Okay. He beat that man every which way around, but, but up. Okay. But, um, but exactly. But he's still, he's still so rootable, even as a, like a despicable, rootable character. Um, he still, you know, was able to just like easily dispatch all these other people.

[00:59:21] But, uh, you know, that like now he gets to go home and he has to be a support to this legit insane person. Right. Like, so he doesn't, he doesn't, he doesn't know this Rhaenyra. Right. He thinks he knows this Rhaenyra. It's like, it's like, uh, back to Cersei. Jaime knew Cersei. There were definitely times where he was like, damn, you know, like she kind of caught him off guard. But for the most part, he was like, nah, she crazy. And I like it. I'm wondering what Damon's reaction going to be to Rhaenyra when she going to be willing to go maybe even further than him off the edge.

[00:59:51] You know? Yeah. I, that, yes. Their relationship is always, it's always so like, like it's so eventful. Right. So it'll, it'll, it'll be, he's been, but the thing is he's been pushing her off this edge. Right. He's been, he's the one. Why do you care about these seven gods? You are a God among men. You know, you are the blood of old Valeria. Who cares? Get on your dragon, torch all these hoes.

[01:00:19] We don't like, so he's been pushing her to this. So it will be really interesting to see how he reacts when he finds out like she, she listened. You know? Right. And then, and they don't always agree, you know, with Messaria gone and we'll talk about her a little bit, but with, uh, prior to her leaving. It was a battle for Rhaenyra's, you know, what she was going to do. And there were definitely moments where she would say, Hey, Damon, I need you to go over here. And he's like, I'm not doing that. And she's like, yes, you are.

[01:00:47] And I don't know if that flies with new Rhaenyra, right? New Rhaenyra is like, I'm the prince that was promised. You don't get on that dragon and leave or else. You know what I'm saying? I don't think she would ever harm the man. You know, like it does seem like, I mean, they've been locked in ever since he was grooming her when she was 15 years old. But, uh, but now, you know, they definitely have different leadership styles, you know, and she's now doing his leadership style. I just wonder if it's going to be to his detriment in a lot of ways.

[01:01:14] Exactly. And, um, yeah, I, I, again, can't wait to see how that is, but you did just bring up Masaria and I do want to tie it back to like, we did get the question, which character was underserved this season for season three.

[01:01:30] And I, I think you have to go, I'm sorry to hear the white worm because like the, I think the first three, two to three episodes again, where she's like, where she's besting Damon, give the gold to the poor, uh, uh, run up on the wealthy, get the bread for the poor. After that, it's just people dunking on her all season. Like, girl, you think you, you running stuff? You ain't running nothing.

[01:01:58] And she won't, she won't run in nothing. She was just pissing Rhaenyra off every time she's whispering into, into Rhaenyra's ear about Damon. And then what happens? She gives it up and then she's kicked out the next day. Like, I think. Then leave. I think. Then leave. I'm sorry. That beacon. It's out. And then the, so the funny thing about Masaria's character is I, I'm really wondering if they're going to use her as a foil for next season.

[01:02:26] Because like I said, I think they're going to have to cut out a lot of stuff or make stuff a little bit more palatable for the audience. So I, I'm, the fact that she, uh, walk a shame. Walk a shame, shame, shame, shame, shame. Shame. The, the fact that she was able to escape and still be within King's Landing.

[01:02:50] Um, and we know what her, her, you know, she was the, the mistress of whispers, right? She's supposed to be the mistress of whispers. To be quite honest, she's quite possibly the worst master of whispers we've seen as depicted on a game. Think about it. Like when you're, when you're talking about, do various various was that dude. Okay. Man. If somebody farted in the North, various knew about it. Like, like various knew everything.

[01:03:18] And then, um, even, uh, um, Oh my God. I forget his name. Um, from, okay. I will come back to me, but like she, she, what did she know? Like other than like, Oh, the poor folks, they're mad now. Oh, thanks. Thanks. Yeah. Kyburn was crazy work. Yes. Kyburn. He was, he was the, the mate Cersei's maester. Plus her master of whispers.

[01:03:46] That dude was just unhinged, but he knew every, he, he knew a lot. He's amazing in the books. Chappelle in the book. He was good in the show too though. I loved him. Oh my God. So like, yeah. So like, she just really like, she wasn't that she's not, she hasn't been really showing up. She, how did you, and if I'm right near, I'm like, Helena was pregnant. Did you know about this? She said, no. Then what are you doing here? Why am I paying you? Well, she not. What are you doing here? She's not paying them people.

[01:04:17] She's not paying them people. See, that's why you got to pay your, pay labor. Okay. Pay your interns and pay your people. Cause they show up for work and they'll do shit. Um, yeah. I like that she escapes, you know, cause Rainier definitely banishes her. Like, Hey, go get on the boat, go somewhere. I don't want to see you no more. She gets loose and Mario. I could definitely see a world where next season she's kind of like in the Kristen cold spot of just like maneuvering and making things harder, you know, like, uh, you know, just because she can, right.

[01:04:45] Like she got away and she's got an ax to grind in a way. Um, she obviously should have an ax to grind, right. She's fired. I'm sure Damon is very happy to see her go. Um, but she's also the voice of the small folk in her mind. Right. I think it was the other woman had told her like, you've been self-serving. You're right. What have you actually accomplished for the rest of us while you are? Yeah. You got some people, a little food and some money, but that's it. Like that's you, that you right next to the queen. We expect you to make some noticeable changes around here and you lost.

[01:05:12] And so I don't know if she's like, is about to double down and try to, um, really have some influence because she looked at Rainier. She saw the psychotic break. Right. And so, um, uh, I would love to see her step up into a role. I saw Ms. Brown sugar and B stagner in the chat saying, um, Ms. Brown sugar said, and can we talk about how my sorry, it didn't bring one drop of useful information to Rainier the whole time.

[01:05:41] Like, like even day, like nobody could tell us who was killing the gold cloaks. Like Damon was trying to figure out Damon got one of them, but you know, little good that did like she couldn't tell who was writing the queen of the bastard stuff up there. She did not a single drop. Right. So my, my biggest thought, um, yeah, Ms. Brown sugar said there's a, theory that Mysterio wasn't ever going to make it to that boat.

[01:06:09] And that's why she ran away because how, how all of a sudden you got money to keep her in a mansion. Yeah. Why you, why you got money? Where does money come from? You know, where did the money come from? Hugh, Hugh and all for sleeping in the dirt. Okay. They are, they don't have a room in a castle. In a castle. They don't have a room. And now she's like, I got your mansion. I got your mansion over there. They don't have a room. Stop it. The people is broke. Underpaid.

[01:06:39] And they all got a room. They had a room, but they just was on assignment. Yeah. Uh huh. Yeah. Until we, until we could build a room for them. Yeah. Mari. Um, I never thought about it, but she would have had to die.

[01:07:19] Yeah. She just sleeping with Rhaenyra and Damon in the book. Really? Just out here. Um, and then, you know what? It shouldn't be hard to win the small folk over because Rhaenyra did kill the Pope. You know what I'm saying? Like at this point. But they don't know about that yet. But it comes to a point. You know what I'm saying? Like at some point they don't know. Cause she did it in a room full of people. They didn't murder the whole room. Did they? No, they did not. There are witnesses.

[01:07:49] People are going to go and tell the tale. Remember when the Pope got killed? You know what I'm saying? Like, so I feel like the small folk going to be looking for any reason to get up from under Rhaenyra's thumb. She's got to be scary at this point. Um, yeah. I mean, like if I see a Pope shanked in front of me, maybe I'll be, maybe I'll be quiet. I mean, I'm a, I'm a, I'm a be quiet, but when he walk away, I'm a keep talking. You know what I'm saying?

[01:08:19] Like, that's the thing. You know what I'm saying? You're right. Y'all know how we'll find out. Yeah, exactly. They gonna find out. That's true. That's true. I love, I love that. I love that idea. Cause I'm, I'm hoping, cause right now I don't really see any real opposition to, uh, I mean, like obviously Aegon is coming back. Right. Um, but it looks like she, I mean, she's going to have, some, uh, help from Dayron. He doesn't seem like he's, he gives a damn about the throne at all.

[01:08:47] So it's not like, well, we don't know where he went. Right. He just flew off. He did. Deep fly. Right. Yeah. Did he get on that dragon? I don't know. We didn't see it. He disappeared. Him and G Wayne. Well, so no, no. Cause didn't G Wayne, G Wayne woke up and he won't there. Yeah. That's what it. Yeah. You're right. Yeah. G Wayne. Yeah. Can I, can I say, I just, I had just, I just realized that what's happening with G Wayne is like, I told everybody ages and ages ago,

[01:09:18] G Wayne was supposed to die last season, I believe. Okay. Or beginning of this season. Something like that. G Wayne is no longer with us in the book. Right. So everything that he's been going through very compelling. And he's basically our eyes and those different areas, like our eyes and Kristen with Kristen Cole, our eyes with the like, um, Ormond at, um, Tumbleton.

[01:09:44] What I didn't realize is basically, I think they, they took his character and mixed his character with Hobart Hightower. Okay. Yes. G Wayne play with house money. Um, there was a, there was a Hobart Hightower who did survive, um, the battle of Tumbleton because he was like, he was like little known Hightower. He was like, he's at the rear guard. So he kind of missed all the death and destruction.

[01:10:12] So he was like, yeah, exactly. So I think, so now I'm realizing that I think G Wayne is basically his stand in, um, for the show. Sorry. If you guys can hear my kids in the background, it's bath time and they are just going nuts. Bananas. Um, yeah. G Wayne just needs to go off and go find Lenore and just be friends. Right. Go, go to the same club. The same. You know what I'm saying?

[01:10:42] Go, go, go. Like how, how, how, how. You know? Go hang out. Go hang out. Um, Mark, uh, we, uh, I want to get to the show. Get into some of these lesser characters. I say lesser because they're not the one, the big ones that we're following. Um, I really have enjoyed Orwell and his depiction throughout this show. He gets very little. I'm telling you. But I'll be every time Orwell shows up every time. That man is bald because these people are putting him through it.

[01:11:11] Like I said, I went, I went back and watched the first, the first three episodes again. And immediately the beginning of the first episode, Orwell is asleep and Aemon drags him out of his bed and puts his, his sword to his neck. Like you, you helped Aegon escape. I'm killing you right now. Orwell is like, what? Like Orwell is still asleep. He got eye crest. He don't know what's going on. Luckily somebody was like, oh no, uh, clubfoot gone too.

[01:11:41] Or he would have been headless. Like, Orwell, like he about to get beheaded by Aemon. He walk in on, um, the, the, whoever his name is, the iron rod about to, you know, do the do with, um, with, uh, what's her name? With Alicent. Alicent, yeah. Like, Rhaenyra take over and Rhaenyra's like, I guess you can keep your head. It's just kind of like, this man is stressed.

[01:12:10] He's stressed. My favorite Orwell moment was when he was talking to Rhaenyra and he was like, you know, you could just kill him. And she said, what? And he's like, I mean, were you thinking you weren't thinking that? You weren't thinking about, okay, just saying, I'm just, I'm a man of the cloth, but let me get out your way. I thought we was, I thought we was doing some old gangster shit, but all right, cool. But I remember that moment because Rhaenyra looked at him kind of like, hmm, you might be down for the cause.

[01:12:40] And so I don't know if crazy Rhaenyra is a bridge too far for him, right? Or is she kind of like, all right, Orwell, let's do it. The things you would talk about, let's, you know, you was in, right? It's like, you got in a car with somebody and they going to rob a bank. Like, oh, I'm finna just make a stop up here. Like, wait, no, let me out. You know what I'm saying? Let me out. She started killing the Pope. I got to believe, Mara, that this man's going to try to get away from her. Orwell just takes his job very seriously, right? He is the Grand Maester. He is the Maester of the, you know, the Red Keep.

[01:13:09] It is his job to record and tell the histories of what is going on. And he's going to be like, you killed the Pope. You killed the High Septon. We killed the High Septon. He's just going to write it down in his diary. I know. You want to burn him up? Okay, we just going to burn him up. Oh, my God. I love him so much. Yeah. We somehow have glossed over Allison, one of the main characters throughout the entire series so far.

[01:13:39] I think season three was... Well, a little bit. But I want to know what you think about the character and how she... Well, I guess her spot right now, right? So she's a prisoner, essentially. Helena is dead. She doesn't quite know her, but I'm sure we'll get to that very early on in the season when it starts. I mean, they're only going to be to keep that from her for so long. But could you see a world where this radicalizes her again? Because she's been a little bit like hands off.

[01:14:06] You know, her thing in the war so far, at least for the whole season of this season and part of half of last season, she's kind of been like, I don't want this. Take it. I don't care. Just like, yeah, whatever. Take the thing. I want me and my kids got to get out of here. Me and Helena, like, take them other kids too. I don't care. She's even sold all her kids up the river except for Helena at this point. She doesn't want any parts of it. But now that Helena is dead, do you think this is the end of that kind of storyline for her? Or does she like...

[01:14:36] Does she kind of switch up and now take a little bit more offense to the fact that maybe it was Rhaenyra that pushed Helena out the window? It's going to be interesting to see, right? Because she sells Aegon up the river. She sells Aemond up the river because all she wants to do is protect Helena. All we've seen from her in the last... This season and, you know, last season is like she's like, me and Helena and, you know, Jhaera, we just want to go. You know what I'm saying?

[01:15:05] And so now that they've, like I said, they've moved the timeline up. Helena is now gone. It will be interesting to see how Allison reacts to this because that's all she wanted. She just wanted safety for her daughter. And the fact that she's not going to get it and the fact that... So now I'm understanding why this nonsensical storyline to send her to Harrenhal to see Aemon happens. Like, I thought it was...

[01:15:33] Like, Allison is the only character that's been showing up to places that she just should not be at. And Rhaenyra keep making her do stuff that she should not be doing. You know what I'm saying? Like, go kill your son for me. Okay? Like, you know? But she had to be out of the Red Keep so that Helena unalives herself. So now, again, Allison comes back.

[01:16:02] The one child she wanted to protect is gone. And now she can look directly at Rhaenyra like, how do I know you didn't kill her? You know what I'm saying? So it will be really interesting to see what Allison does next season because, you know, I'm not going to tell you what happens in the books with her. But it's just... I'm very interested to see it. And Olivia Cooke, again, just a great actress. So I know I'm going to feel it. Whatever it is, I'm going to feel it.

[01:16:32] You know what I'm saying? Because she's going to make us feel it. Yeah, no, she'll be acting. Ms. Brown Sugar asked in the chat, does that butterfly scene work as a clapback to George R.R. Martin? Now, is this a butterfly scene? Yeah, the butterfly scene is when Helena unalives, the butterflies flew up in front of Allison. Is that what we're talking about? Yeah. Yes. But so people, a lot of people have been saying that that might be a shot at George R.R. Martin from the showrunners.

[01:17:00] Because George R.R. Martin, we know famously, like, this last season, he split from production. He didn't like what they were going with this season. And he said some kind of quote. If you could help me, Ms. Brown Sugar. He said some quote about the season that had to do with, like, butterflies. Something, just something like he didn't have a lot of faith in the season. And that, I forget the exact quote.

[01:17:29] I remember it, but I forget what the exact quote was. It's something like, it's not all butterflies or something like that. And so when the butterfly scene happens with Allison and Helena, a lot of people in a lot of the groups were like, oh, the showrunners are, they're reading George R.R. Martin. They're throwing shade at him. Da-da-da-da-da-da. And so I saw that. And I was just like, I guess. You know, it's just, beware the butterflies. Yes.

[01:17:59] Thank you, Mr. Poopy. Thank you. Beware the butterflies. Yeah. He was talking about toxic butterflies. Yeah. Yeah. To kind of highlight. He didn't like. Yeah. He didn't like, I guess, the relationship. He said there are probably more butterflies to come, right? The relationship between him and the showrunners had deteriorated at that point. And so, yeah. I mean, Helena dying might be symbolic.

[01:18:27] What do you think about that as a shot to George R.R. Martin, considering you are one of his biggest ops? I am one of his biggest ops. And if it's true that they said he's mad that they left out Malor, I am even more one of his biggest ops because I've said it on this podcast. I'm actually glad that they did not go with the Malor storyline. For those who don't know, at the time of Blood and Cheese, Helena actually has three kids.

[01:18:57] She has Jaehaerys and Jaehaerah. And then she has baby Malor. We've talked about this in our season two coverage. But for Blood and Cheese, Malor being there is a very big pivotal scene. It is. It makes more sense than Blood and Cheese. Unfortunately, how Malor's storyline ends up in the book is very graphic and very unneeded.

[01:19:19] So the fact that they left him out of the show to me is fine because we don't need to see that depicted on screen. It doesn't affect the Dance of the Dragons. So I'm actually fine. Still his biggest op. If it was a shot at him, sure. You know, if not, they're making the show. So he still got paid for it already. It's whatever. Yeah.

[01:19:46] To circle back to Allison, just one last point I wanted to make is that I can imagine that, you know, Allison now losing Helena, you know, not respecting or loving or caring about her other two kids. This could be the moment that also pushes her back toward De'Ron. You know, she doesn't know him. You pointed that out, you know, multiple times throughout the season is that like she gave him away as a ward to, you know, for whatever reason. But now he's basically free of Ormond.

[01:20:11] You know, he is going to be on the run, you know, for all intents and purposes. You know, he is an heir. And so I can imagine her going back and saying like, all right, I lost Helena. You all I got. And you kind of look like me. You know what I'm saying? Got the hair, obviously. But I feel like that was an intentional choice, Mari, that they made because like you said, the hair is not supposed to match Allison's, right? Right. Yeah.

[01:20:39] I mean, De'Ron, like that's that's could be something that she might want to do. But again, there's a war going on. Right. Yeah. Like maybe Allison is the only character that seems to be able to teleport around the map. But like there's stuff happening. Like you can't get a reuniting with your kid in the middle of a civil war type thing.

[01:21:04] So I think Allison is just going to very, very much feel the loss of Helena. And I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to get some sort of revenge. I think that would be kind of that would be kind of interesting if they try and go with that that angle with her. Yeah. B. Stagner puts in the chat a different question. OK, so this is was it the Lannister that that the knighted man by Rhaenyra who he made the deal with?

[01:21:30] Or can y'all talk about the character if the men Rhaenyra knighted and their story, please? Sorry, I don't know his name. You know who B. Stagner is talking about? Are we talking about the are we talking about like the new dragon writers like Olf and Hugh? Oh, bastards. Oh, so Olf and Adam, right? Are the three. Was it the Lannister that the knighted man? I don't know.

[01:21:58] You have to get that name for us B. Stagner because I don't know if I can help at all. Oh, here's more information. The character of one of the men that was knighted by Rhaenyra. They asked her for land and asked for his buddy. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, unpaid. Mistreated. Downtrodden. A victim. He did turncoat. All right. He did turn cloak. He did.

[01:22:27] But now, Mari, he is a knight, right? Or can she take that back? No, he's a knight. He's a knight. Once United, I don't think they can take it back. I don't know. Do we have any? We have a name. It was off the white. What are you going to do with that? Right. Ulf target. Right. Yeah. Like, Sir Ulf. Like, United. But that's the thing, right?

[01:22:53] A knighthood is just a, what is it? Like, it's not a, it's not, it's, it's just like a title. Right? Yeah. These people care a lot about titles. Yeah. Yeah. I, so, I just, we're going to have to see what happens with Ulf. I think we haven't, we've talked about Ulf. We haven't talked about Hugh. Like, Hugh's storyline again. And I, I, I talked about it in the book corner.

[01:23:21] Hugh and Ulf's storylines in the book are actually very similar, you know? And I, and I think that's the reason why they wanted to give Hugh the family angle here, you know? So, now the last thing we see of Hugh, he was not listening to any orders. He was, he, he shouldn't have even been at the Battle of Tumbleton, technically. He should have been watching the Dragon Pit. Damon is dealing with Bull John Roxton and he looks to the side and he's like, dog, why is Hugh here?

[01:23:50] But he can't say anything because he's, he was going through Tumbleton looking for his wife. When he finally finds her, she's dead. And the last thing we see from him is them flying off. So, we will have to see, Hugh now is unpaid, right? Sleeping on a dirt hill and his wife is dead. So, we'll see if, we'll see if he also turns.

[01:24:17] If he decides to do something with a dragon that he is claimed. So, again, I talked about how I didn't really like the changes with Hugh's character. I like the thought of just like these two men being dicks because they now have dragons. That's the deal.

[01:24:44] But I, but I understand that they, they want a different, different perspectives. And again, something about Game of Thrones wanting people to like snap because something happens to them. It's like sometimes people are just evil and we delight in the people who are just evil because we delight when they die. I love Joffrey. You know what I'm saying? Like. Ooh, yeah. Like Joffrey. But Joffrey was evil because he had evil parents too. You know, they were, and he was, he was, he was a little child of, you know. Of incest.

[01:25:14] You know, so that was, even Joffrey had a backstory, I guess. The problem is what was wrong with Cersei? You know, so anyway. So, Beast Datter, I'm glad you brought that up. Put it in the chat. She shouldn't have knighted three random men. And it's not so much that she knighted them, but she did give them dragons. And Jace told her. They told her. Multiple people told her. You don't just put randoms on a dragon. We are the ones who are supposed to ride the dragon. We are the ones. We are the chosen ones. Yes, I'm a bastard, but I'm not them. They lowborn.

[01:25:43] You can't trust them. You cannot trust the small folk. Orman said in one of the episodes of season three, you cannot trust the small folk. Now. You can't raise them up. Right. Now, listen. Are they inherently untrustworthy because they're small folk? No. But because of the way the system is set up and they're so small, right? They're at the mercy of these people that they call kings and queens. They go to them and they beg for meager rations, you know, when they're broke.

[01:26:12] When they get into war, these are the people who suffer. So, yeah, you wouldn't be able to trust any of them because they need to look out for themselves. If you think they're going to be serving you, then, you know, I think that's a bit of a reach to expect that, you know, for them to do it just out of the kindness of their heart. I'm sure some people will, right? We've seen honor take people a long way, but also be the end of people in House of the Dragon or Game of Thrones. And so I definitely see a world where you look at Rhaenyra and say, hey, this is you shouldn't have put them on the dragon in the first place.

[01:26:41] I don't know if this now makes them like a duo. Right. It's like a tag team. Right. The two bastards that are now kind of like they're down. They're out on the green. Like they can't go back to the blacks. Right. Like they might not be team green, but they definitely aren't team black. Like, you know, I could see them just being in the way, you know, just like they did turn on the greens, too, or at least, you know, at least off did. And so they got a place to go. Yeah.

[01:27:09] So I don't know if off is now. I don't know. Like, off kind of feels like his story is done. Right. Like he already did his thing. It's just a matter of do they go kill him or not. But as far as Hugh. Yeah. Where does this take you? His family's dead. He broke. He got a dragon and he should be upset with leadership. Does he do something about it? That's the question. He's going to circle back. Yeah. We'll see. Because I can't, you know, I don't want to give up the goose.

[01:27:37] But yeah, they off and Hugh now have every reason to be angry. And they're angry men on dragons. Right. You know what I'm saying? Right. Okay. We got a few more questions and then we'll wrap up. Yeah. Question from Chloe B says, do you think there's any chance HBO gives them 10 or 12 episodes for the final season?

[01:28:04] I just don't understand why they're giving them eight when it's a Game of Thrones franchise. Yeah, Mari. What from your professional opinion? You watch a lot of shows. You read a lot of books. Why are they cutting this show short when it's clearly a moneymaker? I have absolutely no clue because we got 10 for season one. We got 10 episodes for season one. It is unarguably the best season. And then they had plotted out 10 episodes for season two. We know that for a fact.

[01:28:33] We know that they actually shot 10 episodes for season two. But HBO, Time Warner, like Ms. Brown Sugar says in the chat, have been going through different chains of hands with ownerships and stuff like that. So it could be all of the changes, the execs and stuff like that. But season two got cut down to eight episodes, which moved their last two episodes to season three.

[01:29:02] Again, those are some of the best episodes. And then the episode, which would have been the first episode of this season, one of the better episodes. But I don't know. I don't know if this season recorded, you know, 10. My thought process is they probably they recorded 10 for the second season. They were told you got to cut it to eight. They said, OK, so that means we got two left over and then they just recorded these six.

[01:29:34] So unfortunately, I don't see the point of having 10 making a point to cut it to eight, making a point to cutting it to eight and then coming back and bringing 10. You know what I'm saying? Especially when unfortunately for Game of Thrones, it was the opposite. Right. We got 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 6, 6, 7 or something or whatever. 7, 6. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:29:58] So unfortunately, sadly, I think we're not going to get 10 episodes when honestly, we really should to be quite honest. Boo. Yeah. Yeah. Tomatoes, bricks. Yeah. All that kind of stuff. We want more. OK. Auntie Ashcraft says, Mari, why did they make a point to show Rhaenyra pushing back on being a monster to children at several points in the show?

[01:30:25] Examples of, you know, murdering the youngest Hightower boy when they thought they had him, murdering unborn babies, killing Raina for killing Jace. She doesn't do any of that stuff, even though the opportunity was right in front of her. Why do you think that was? Twofold. The whole her losing her children type of thing. You know, I think she really like, again, that really hurt her. So I can't see her thinking that she would want to hurt other people's children type thing.

[01:30:55] And one of the main things that I really think it was for is because, like I said, in the book and in the retelling of history, she was a bitch. She was Maegor's teats. She was the child killer. They blamed her for blood and cheese. They blame her for Helena's jumping. You know what I'm saying? All of these things are actually attributed to her.

[01:31:21] So I think what the show wants to show is like, no, this is what Rhaenyra actually was. She was actually a very thoughtful ruler. She really tried everything she could to not descend into that madness. And history still recorded her as a mad woman with power, which is quite often how history does tend to record women who are in power that they don't like.

[01:31:51] So that's what I think it was. I think they wanted us to show us that Rhaenyra is a very thoughtful, very quote unquote tender, also tender hearted woman, right? I think at one point Orman says she doesn't have the constitution to burn these people up or whatever. She has soft sensibilities of a woman. So they wanted to show us that she really isn't a monster while she is being depicted to people as a monster. Yeah.

[01:32:21] Oh, that great question. But here's my thing. Now that she's broken bad, is she just a monster now? Are the kids about to die? Are we burning buildings down? I mean, we saw what happened when Daenerys snapped. You know, she burnt the city down. Is Rhaenyra still going to have any level of diplomacy to her? Or is she now going to be like, hey, bring me Daeron. I just want to tell him something, you know? Yeah. I mean, right. We'll see when she's breaking bad. So all bets are off.

[01:32:50] She's like, you made me this way. You made me this way. You made me this way. Y'all wanted me to be the bad guy. Now I'm the bad guy. So let's see how that works. Mari, this was so much fun. This was such a good idea. This is awesome. Yes. I'm so glad we were able to do this. I'm so glad y'all came and did the damn thing. Y'all filled the chat up. We said, y'all better come when we're not doing this. And y'all came. I love that. Yeah. No, me too. Thank you. Yeah.

[01:33:19] Big shout out to everybody who's followed us on our journey throughout this season. Even the people who just show up to watch us talk, you know, Michael Horn, I saw you in the chat earlier. Just, hey, I don't watch the show, but I support Chappelle and Mari. Thank you so much for all that support. We appreciate that. Thank y'all for the questions, the feedback, the comments. Thank y'all for sharing the podcast, for buying Mari's cups. Yes, please. This was so much fun. And we'll have to do this again maybe next time. Maybe next time we'll get some guests.

[01:33:46] You know, Mari, I'd actually talk to LaTanya about coming on today, but she wasn't able to. But she said she really is looking forward to us talking about House of the Dragon or talking with us about House of the Dragon so I can see her coming on maybe next year as well. Was it two years, Mari? I know, two years. We did do that special with Grace and Taryn. Let us know in the comments of this video, like, now, do you want us to do a full spoiler like season for it? Because that's what we did, right?

[01:34:16] We did a draft of what we thought would happen in the seasons. And you were there and you didn't mind, right? I was like, I'm kind of spoiled, but not really. So it's cool. I don't remember none of it. So there you go. Yeah, we would love it. Let us know if you want to do like a full spoiler kind of episode.

[01:34:39] And it'll be a what to expect for season four type of podcast type of thing. Do another episode and just cover the book. Yeah. You've hosted the book club before. You've hosted the book club before here talking about Fourth Wing with Kirsten McKinnis as your guest. And so, y'all, Mari got the keys if she want to do another episode with just the books. I'll tap out. You know what I'm saying? And we can definitely get a panel together of readers to talk about the things.

[01:35:05] But Mari, since we have these captives audience, what do we have coming up next? What shows are on the horizon for us? Because I saw the trailer for A Different World today. I saw the trailer for Snowfall today. I saw It Welcome to Dairy is renewed again. I saw it. Yeah. James told me all of these things. Real quick. Yes, Auntie Ashcraft.

[01:35:31] Me and Kirsten McKinnis, we talked about Onyx Storm, the third book of Fourth Wing. And we recapped books one and two. So yeah, we were trying to get a book. Me and Kirsten have been throwing around doing like a book club type thing on here. But yes, I think I will try and reach out to Grace and Taryn and see if we can do a full spoiler type thing. Maybe in the next few weeks.

[01:36:01] Maybe in October or something. Because coming up, I will be at RehabCon in Wisconsin meeting everybody who signed up to go there. Like Chappelle said, right after RehabCon, it's back. Beauty and Black Season 3 is back. Season 3 Part 2, I think. Or Part 1. It's Part 1, I think.

[01:36:28] So we know it's not like dragons. But me, Chappelle, and Matt Scott have the best fun talking about the absolute ridiculousness that is Tyler Perry's Beauty and Black. So if you want to stick with us and watch that series, please, please do. The new Different World is coming out in September. So we do have plans of covering that.

[01:36:57] The new trailer for Snowfall just dropped. So if you are a longtime Recap Connect listener, should I say, you would know that we covered Snowfall. We love Snowfall. So, yeah. I did watch Lanterns. Have you watched Lanterns, Chappelle? That could be some more. It just dropped this morning. It was last night. It was last night.

[01:37:26] You might need to get Jason on the podcast to talk about that. Or Sasha. Yeah. It's good. I imagine so. I was going to get to it one day. You know what I'm saying? But yeah. I watched the whole season of X-Men 97 as well. And so I need to text Jason anyway. Is the season done? Oh, yeah. That's done. And so I want to get Jason on. And maybe Anthony from the Talking Ish podcast can come on. And we can do a season retrospective of that.

[01:37:55] Because week to week would have been too crazy. But Mari, Snowfall and A Different World are going to overlap. I know you're very happy that they will be going on at the same exact time. Yay. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. And I think all 10 episodes are going to drop at the same time for that one as well. For Snowfall 2? No, for A Different World. So it's kind of like, I don't know if we're going to do a weekly. Two every week.
