[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_04]: What's up fam and welcome back again to Recap Kickback where we talk about the Black Entertainment News of the Week and highlight our shows, what we're watching, what's coming next and other big names in Black entertainment and other things. You know, off topic we do go off the rails a little bit. But for the most part we're here to celebrate Black excellence and talk about what's in the Black News. And so I'm your host Chappelle once again and with me, her usual, my co-host Mari Forth. Mari, what's up?

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey Chappelle, we are here. We're back another week. Can't wait to recap everything that's gone on in entertainment news for the past seven days.

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it's feeling a little bit like deja vu because we're gonna be talking about something we already talked about. It's been a long time people know that. And, you know, that a point went out for some of the GOATs, you know, but we brought in one of the GOATs to come help out with this podcast. Mari, your co-host from the Rest of the Recap Podcast, the Matt Scott.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt Scott, welcome to Recap Kickback.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh, thank you for having me on Recap Kick Black. Happy to be here.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Just to dive into all of it. When you mentioned Black excellence, like, of course, you called me. So happy to be here.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm a little nervous for what we're gonna talk about just because, you know, the news, the news.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_02]: The news be newsin'.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm a little scared. I'm scared.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. The news be newsin', but we're gonna talk about and try to highlight it and have a good time talking about the things that we can talk about.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: But thank you all for listening, of course, to Recap Kickback.

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you all for subscribing. All your kind words.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I appreciate the comments. People who are loyal listeners in the comments.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari, they've been asking for you to talk more about these books that you'd be putting people on.

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think we can read the dragon book you talked about.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_04]: And now they're like, Mari, when are we gonna get an update?

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, give her a segment.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Give her a segment.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Mari's book club coming back. Mari, what are we doing?

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's kind of funny because in the dragon book that I had suggested to everybody, the third book comes out, I think, January of 2025.

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: So you still have plenty of time to read the first two books, Fourth Wing and Iron Flame.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So do that. And then maybe when the book comes out, we'll do a book club or something like that.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But the third book comes out, I know it's January, like 2025 or the first, at least the first quarter in 2025.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I am currently listening to a book that's very interesting.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's called Sometimes I Lie.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's very good. It's a very good book.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're into twists and turns and unreliable narrators, that's a good one as well.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So, yeah, plenty.

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll do a book corner on one of these things.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_02]: A few of these things a few times.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what y'all want to hear.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Stay in the comments, I'm telling you.

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And we've got five star reviews as well.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: One says, crying five stars from Jim 302.

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It says, I love what Japelle and Mario are on the RHIP BB podcast.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Been listening to that for years and finally decided, honestly, too late to check out Recap K-Bag.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Started with the Divorce of the Black episode and I'm dying of laughter at work.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Y'all got me. Thank you so much.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And then we got one from Charlotte Swinger.

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_04]: It says, love five stars.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for keeping us in the loop.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Appreciate you.

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I think people are liking the Black Entertainment.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think they're liking the format.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt, what do you think about our new format?

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I love it.

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Look, I feel like that's what, look, we're here to keep people updated.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_05]: It's honestly, I do feel like I do personally like, you know, I have appreciated the stepping back.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, I could catch up on the episodes whenever I'm watching something.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_05]: But it is always nice to kind of have the reminder of what's going on as we're talking about all this.

[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Just the broader context, all the inside jokes that I'm sure come up.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm into it.

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And thank everybody for listening and subscribing.

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Remember, you can hit this like button here on our YouTube page.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Make sure you subscribe.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Subscribe.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not getting enough likes on these videos, y'all.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Y'all watching them.

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm seeing the numbers.

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But you're not clicking like.

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead and click like on the podcast so that other people can find it and so that we can build our Recap Kickback community as well as the Recap Kickback community.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_04]: We got new stuff on Recap Kickback as well.

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Brought back the Walking Dead coverage.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Jessica Leeson, AJ Mass, and Josh Wigger will be joining me to talk about the Walking Dead on the zombie kickback.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_04]: People who know me know that's one of my shows that I've covered for a long time.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And so we assembled the crew.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And so that will be happening.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Along with other things that we are cooking up for the future.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So make sure you subscribe so you don't miss anything.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's get into this last few days because it's been tough.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We've lost some of the greats, Mari, including Dikembe Mutombo and John Amos.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I know.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's just crazy.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I hate when we go through these spells where it's like you feel like it's like a whole bunch of well-known.

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So every people are just like passing one by one by one.

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But it feels like that.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, I feel so bad.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Mutombo, notice, you know, known for the blocking.

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_02]: The no, no, no.

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: No, no.

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Rest in power to him.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Dying at such a young age from brain cancer.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: That is so unfortunate.

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And then John Amos died, which, like, he died in August of this year.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Why is it just being announced?

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, August 21st.

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He died August 21st.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Why it's just being announced, I have no idea.

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But I could have sworn it was already announced.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought he had already passed away.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know what?

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It don't matter.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It's still sad.

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but you know what?

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what?

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_05]: You were giving him his flowers while he was still here, Mari.

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_05]: There's that.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_05]: And no, like, with Mutombo, honestly, like, I remember growing up and being such a huge fan of him.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Mostly based on his height, but then he just grew on me otherwise.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, we'll miss him.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_05]: It is sad.

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's also good that both of them, you know, they've gotten their flowers time and time and time and time again.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_05]: So rest in power.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we've definitely talked about John Amos and other ways on this podcast already.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about good times and various different, you know.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Iterations.

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, iterations.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking of the cartoon.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking of, you know, the good times proper, the theme song.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, he's best known for playing James Evans Sr., husband of Florida Evans.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, one of, you know, the premier Black sitcom leading characters, you know.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, for him to be able to, like, carve out this, you know, amazing career.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But he's also known for roots, you know.

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And then as far as I'm concerned, John Amos has been working my whole life.

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I've never not known this man to be famous.

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Definitely Black celebrity royalty in, like, as far as, like, acting.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I can think of everything from the Players Club to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like, he's everywhere.

[00:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: So rest in peace to the king here.

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the many kings.

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And also rest in peace to Dikembe Mutombo.

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Brain cancer is so sad to even, to, you know, to even think about somebody getting that at such a young age and just passing away like he did.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, we do have to, you know, give these people their flowers.

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And then last but not least, Ken Page, the voice of Oogie Boogie in The Nightmare Before Christmas died as well.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And I actually, I've never seen The Nightmare Before Christmas.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know him.

[00:07:57] Yeah.

[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's no better time than the present.

[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like.

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_05]: We're getting to the holiday season and all.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, Ken Page.

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So then you can't even answer the question that everybody fights over.

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie?

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It could be.

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have no input.

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it can be both.

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think that's true.

[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I just watch it from October 31st to December 25th.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_05]: It's that easy.

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Is it about Halloween or is it just scary?

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like spooky?

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, we don't.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to give it up.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Now I feel like.

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You call spoilers.

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_02]: The Nightmare Before Christmas before me.

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we should.

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, we should watch.

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's ask our listeners if anybody would do a live watch party.

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_05]: But literally, it's a it's a holiday movie.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It is a holiday movie.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's be clear.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_05]: So which holiday?

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Which holiday?

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to lie.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: To me, it's a Halloween movie.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I watch it.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I normally watch it during Halloween.

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what?

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_05]: I will say I do feel like it's a better Halloween movie than a Christmas.

[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, it's higher up on the Halloween movie rankings than it would be on the Christmas movie.

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's just because there's like way more like Christmas movies, like better Christmas movies.

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that makes total sense.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: He died at the age of 70.

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: He's also been in the theater roles of like The Lion and The Wiz.

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_04]: He was featured in the version of Cats that was released on video in 1998.

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, this man, again, another king of stage and screen in a lot of ways that we are losing this month or, you know, depending on when John Amos died within the last month or so.

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, we got to give these people our flowers because if not here on Recap K-Back, then where else are we going to do this?

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of things ending unceremoniously, got a lot of cancellations this fall.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, we talked about this before, y'all.

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It's really hard for Black shows to really get, you know, the push that they need, right?

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Like to get that extra bump to where they're able to have the longevity to have a bad season or two or maybe not have the best ratings and still go on to be a show, right?

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Because there's a lot of shows that are not Black shows that typically get other chances.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And so finding out right now.

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Why is Emily still in Paris?

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like...

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Why is Emily still in Paris?

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Why?

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Why?

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_04]: For what?

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, It's Always Sunny has been on for like 20 years, y'all.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Literally, though.

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm forgetting that it hasn't.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Even though...

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I like that show.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say, yeah.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's not...

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I still believe it's still going.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: It feels like, yeah.

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I could have sworn they were going to end it a few times.

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Like almost 20 seasons.

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_05]: So literally.

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: And good for them.

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It's been crazy.

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And that's good, right?

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_04]: We're not hating on nobody for getting their just due.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just like, hey, we would like that too.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So you got to keep up with these shows, obviously.

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_04]: So you'll know what you need to watch, you know, so that it doesn't get canceled.

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And one of the shows that I don't watch, but I started watching it, it's just, it got

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_04]: away from me.

[00:11:16] [SPEAKER_04]: All American.

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_04]: All American.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: All American was canceled?

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So this article says All American Homecoming is canceled.

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_04]: The bad news came out.

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But I know that's so good.

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like people love that show.

[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It's better than the first All American.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I heard.

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The spinoff is on the way out.

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Says the season now airing in the summer, notably as...

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to average 418,000 total viewers through its first five episodes, down more

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_04]: than 30% from the prior season.

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And the final air day will be Monday, September 30th on the CW.

[00:11:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So we already, like, it's done.

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gone.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Not coming back, y'all.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And I bet you a lot of these cancellations are due to the strike.

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, I'm pretty sure a lot of it has to do with the strike.

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, the studios are trying to recoup money.

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I remember them saying, like, some of, like, the new provisions in the CBA might

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_02]: have studios, like, cancel things because they can...

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It might cost more to pick up another season.

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not lost on me that a lot of the shows that are the ones getting cut are the Black

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: ones.

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That's my step.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_04]: To me, Matt, they don't promote Black shows enough.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And when I say they, I just mean, like, sometimes you find out about a show and you be like,

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_04]: dang, where have I been?

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_04]: How did I miss this?

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it feels like they don't get as much publicity to where you can watch it and

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: keep it alive.

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's one thing I was going to say.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And I feel like every year there's a wave of Black shows that gets canceled.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_05]: But, you know, the publicity is one thing.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_05]: And part of it is that I just kind of assume that they don't think that anyone but Black people

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_05]: will watch Black shows, which I mean, like, yeah, Black people will watch Black shows, but

[00:13:06] [SPEAKER_05]: like, other people will watch these shows if you market them to them.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_05]: But the other thing is, we've been talking about some of the deaths that have happened.

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_05]: And one thing that links so many of those people is that they have gotten the chance to be on TV

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_05]: in sustained ways or in media in sustained ways.

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm kind of worried that we're not going to get as much of that because we keep getting

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_05]: shows canceled after one, two, three seasons.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm sweating a little bit.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, one of the other shows I saw that was canceled is Extended Family.

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I do not know what this show is.

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Never heard of it.

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Never heard of that show.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_02]: That's Donald Faison?

[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Donald Faison.

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know he was still doing the things.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't even know if this is a Black show.

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I just know he's in it.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So it was May 7th when the news was announced, six weeks after its finale aired, which it had

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: a finale, the final air date, March 27th of this year.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So this show canceled, not coming back in the fall.

[00:14:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And we didn't even know it existed.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, did the good guys get canceled?

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But that, you know, you know.

[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, sorry.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Not they time.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Overdue.

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And then another show that got canceled, y'all.

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And I know y'all are going to be very much sad about this very Black show, the show that

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody's buzzing about.

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Bob Hart's Abishola, March.

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_04]: No!

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Not that, right?

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Not Abishola.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember when this, when this came on, like when this first started, I literally

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: looked at it and said, this ain't gonna lie.

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: There's no way this, like, what is this?

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_05]: But it really did.

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_02]: A white man with a heart condition falls in love with his African nurse, like CNA nurse.

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And all of the commercials were just like her introducing him to like African things.

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, who is this?

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And they're like, it's like, but he's white and, and she's African.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_05]: What do we do?

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, it's, it's, it's uncomfy.

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_05]: But five, five seasons.

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_05]: What, Mari, what do you think the magic is of this show that people have seen for white

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I ain't never watched this show.

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Who was that show for?

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_04]: It's for the Africans that want to hang out with the white men.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't know.

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I really think.

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Then that's good for them.

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't even know that.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Almost a hundred episodes.

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Almost a hundred episodes.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: See, are we part of the problem?

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Did we not give this Black show, is this a Black show?

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Did we not give this Black show a chance?

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_04]: It's, I don't know.

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's half Black.

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: No, is it half?

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_04]: We just feel Black.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But, listeners, if you watch Bob Hart's Abishola, please let us know what it's about.

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Let us know.

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what, did you like it?

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it, was it not just ha ha ha, look at our, how different our cultures are?

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they look like they're in love in the picture.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at the chemistry.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know why it couldn't be Abishola.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I, that guy's from a different show.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: He's from Mike and Molly.

[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Mike and Molly.

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't like him on Mike and Molly.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't watch Mike and Molly.

[00:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: That's Mike and Molly.

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, so he's Mike.

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I heard, like, yeah.

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Why does this character's name always come first in the title?

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Why can't it be like Abishola is loved by Bob?

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I guess so.

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm for the words.

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess, I mean, look, it was on for five seasons.

[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously we missed something.

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, we cannot be critical of people saying, canceling these black shows, we're not

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: going to watch them.

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_04]: And again, I don't know if it's even black.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is by Chuck, Chuck, Lori.

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.

[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's probably why it got more seasons.

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a dude who did two and a half men.

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a trusted resource for them, you know?

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Big Bang Theory, right?

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_02]: 30 Rock.

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Those.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's like partially black because it's not black made.

[00:17:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what I mean?

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And everything don't have to be all the way black all the time.

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_04]: It was just like, you know, like Abishola needed her dude.

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure somebody needed to show some love to Abishola.

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: How's Abishola?

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She was hanging on by a thread.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I'll pick one random episode like in the middle of the show and just watch it

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and see what happens.

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_05]: No, Mari.

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Mari, go on.

[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Just go on Google.

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Search top 10 episodes of Bob Hart's Abishola and then watch like the first one.

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe the first one.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I kind of actually don't do that now.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Watch it.

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari, you watch it and report back on it.

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And that way, like, we like, OK, come back and be like, no, it was good.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I trust your opinion, Mari.

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, maybe maybe it's not worth a recap kickback episode.

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: But maybe we just touch base with Abishola's stance.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We might have to do a thing where we just watch the top 10, like number one rated like

[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_02]: episode of different shows.

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: We got.

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like it's a good option.

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_04]: We got a ton of content that we can release.

[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So aside from the cancellations, we do have a new show.

[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Did y'all know The Talk was getting canceled?

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Julie Chen's The Talk?

[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't think she's even there anymore.

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She's not on it.

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_04]: She's not on it anymore.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Jerry O'Connell's The Talk.

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he was on it?

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, not him.

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_02]: When did they put a man on there?

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: What?

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't keep up.

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, a lot of those shows are getting canceled.

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I know The Real got canceled a minute ago.

[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_02]: The Talk getting canceled.

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_02]: So The View is the only one hanging on there, huh?

[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Pretty much.

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So The Talk will not be in the weekday lineup in 2025.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But as of January 25, CBS has partnered with the NAACP on Beyond the Gates, a new

[00:19:01] [SPEAKER_04]: daytime drama about a wealthy Black family living in a posh gated community.

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's going to be taking its place.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And so look at that.

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Black show.

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: What?

[00:19:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so it's a soap opera.

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it's a soap opera.

[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And NAACP is a black soap opera.

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's helping out.

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, I don't know if it's...

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Can I ask?

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to be shady because I think it's great that this exists.

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05]: And you know what?

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_05]: We need to watch it.

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Everyone here should be watching it.

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_05]: But what does the NAACP have expertise in making shows?

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a partnership.

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, I feel like...

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_05]: They were like, let's just find the Black people.

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_02]: If you listen to our Hollywood Black coverage, you would know that the NAACP often tend to...

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Oversteps into media.

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why we have the NAACP Image Awards.

[00:19:58] [SPEAKER_02]: They often interject what they feel is good representation of Black people into entertainment.

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, it's set here in Maryland.

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:20:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's filmed in Atlanta.

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_04]: It's set in Maryland.

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_04]: In the leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C.

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: In one of the most affluent African-American counties in the United States.

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari, you could live there.

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari, should we check out Beyond the Gates?

[00:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: We have to.

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, an African-American daytime soap.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, honestly...

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm excited.

[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_02]: That is so smart.

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And the fact that daytime soaps have been around for, what, 40 years?

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And nobody has thought of that about this.

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: When I'm pretty sure that Black women gotta be, like, up there for consumers of daytime soaps.

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I know my TV would tape, hand tape with cassettes.

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: What was it?

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: General Hospital.

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: General Hospital.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So she can watch her stories when she came home.

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Or Grandma, too.

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think it was one life to live, I want to say.

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_03]: That sounds right.

[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, so I feel like this should have been happened.

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good point.

[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I'm pretty sure my grandma has a picture of Victor Newman, like, framed on her wall next to Donna Trinity and Black Jesus.

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, so I really...

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Next to her Obama poster.

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I...

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there you go.

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Those are the big ones for her.

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I'm pretty sure that that's something.

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, I think Black Cake got canceled.

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Mario, was it you?

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Do you mean that we need to watch that?

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: A listener had sent us a listener email saying we should have listened to...

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_02]: We should have watched Black Cake back in our Connect days, I believe.

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.

[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And had we, maybe...

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Look what you did.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: This age of streaming, man, has been honestly ridiculous.

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm starting to realize how detrimental it can be for creatives, especially Black creatives.

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially, I think, talking about what we're going to be talking about, what we're going to be reviewing for this episode.

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_04]: No, all good points.

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that, yeah, we probably should have watched it.

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm definitely going to go watch it now.

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, in the future, maybe we got to jump on some of this stuff, at least to put an eye on it before it, you know, takes off.

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Even if we just got to watch one episode, we ain't got time for a binge.

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_04]: We need to know if it's good so we can put it on our list.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Five seasons of Bob Hart's Abishola and none of us checked it out once?

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a problem.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean...

[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, is it?

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's not.

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_05]: It was just the vibes.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_05]: The vibes were off.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_04]: People in the comments are going to tell us that Bob Hart's Abishola is something we should be watching, okay?

[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Just handle it like that.

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's talk about what's coming soon, though.

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about what we're losing.

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about our new daytime soap that we're getting.

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_04]: But I believe on October 6th, we will get the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special on CBS.

[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And I love a good award show.

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I talk about them every chance I get.

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But this time in particular, they're going to be having a huge performance from the Mariah Carey.

[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Mariah Carey will be doing a medley of her hits on this one.

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And we have a good slate of performances by other artists as well, including, I believe, Shaka Khan, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson.

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So a few big performers.

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Who are these other people, though?

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I guess, Brad Kane.

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know who that is.

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Kane Brown is Black.

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a Black country artist.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of which, shout out to Shabuzi.

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Shabuzi.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, y'all.

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_04]: In the age of Morgan Wallen's racist ass, Shabuzi has dethroned him with a country remix of Tipsy by Jay Kwan, essentially.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: So good.

[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: We did it, y'all.

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_04]: We did it.

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: We did it.

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We made it to the public land.

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_02]: He also won the CMA and shouted out Beyonce.

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He won, I want to say, Breakout Star, I believe.

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And he shouted out Beyonce in his...

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to find it.

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_02]: In his...

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Acceptance Beach?

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Best New Artist.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep.

[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Best New Artist at the People's Choice Country Awards.

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it is.

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: People's Choice Country Award.

[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And he...

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That song is so good.

[00:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We talked about it before, but that song is so good.

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Matt.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever heard the song by Shabuzi?

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_04]: So...

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I actually have a story for you.

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_05]: So it was so wild.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_05]: On Friday this past week, I was just minding my business.

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_05]: I was in New Jersey.

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, let me go get dinner at this place.

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, just with a couple of my friends.

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_05]: And I walk into this Tex-Mex place and there was like a hoedown night.

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh.

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: And so they had all of the white country songs on.

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_05]: But then they had...

[00:25:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Then they're like when 10 p.m. hit, then they were kind of getting a little loose.

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And they said, let's let some of the black people in.

[00:25:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So they didn't...

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_05]: They didn't have any cowboy codder or anything like that.

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_05]: But yes, they did the Tipsy.

[00:25:28] [SPEAKER_05]: They did the Tipsy...

[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Or I should say the Tipsy remix by Shabuzi.

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_05]: No one was dancing to it, but they had it.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_05]: It was on.

[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was on.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_05]: So that happened.

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_04]: That song is so good.

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_04]: So make sure you check out the American Music Awards 50th anniversary to support Mariah and her things.

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight.

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to get some good performances that night, Mari.

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: But okay.

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong?

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_04]: What's wrong?

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But none of those people are younger than 40, though.

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Not one current young R&B or rap artist.

[00:26:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, well, maybe they'll be there.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Kane young.

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Old as old.

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Get out.

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Kane Brown like 29.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You could say him.

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's kind of...

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's Ray?

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know who Ray is.

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was that?

[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was that?

[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_05]: They're just selling the poster, though, right?

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: It said performances by...

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That's all of them.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I think so.

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that was all the performances.

[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a lot.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: There was a lot of performances.

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: It was going to be a performance-heavy night because it's not an award show.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the 50th anniversary of the...

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh.

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think that they're going to be...

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be mostly performances.

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So like a showcase almost is what I imagine.

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_02]: They've been accused in the past of not being really current and up-to-date on music.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And it shows.

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what you're talking about.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And we made it.

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you want to check that out, of course, it's coming out this weekend on CBS.

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Mario, we have some good news.

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We recently talked about Rebel Ridge and we talked about Aaron Pierre and his role and

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_04]: how we thought he did such a good job, how these British folks are coming over here and

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: taking our jobs.

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: But speaking of jobs he'd be taking, Aaron Pierre has been tapped to be Jon Stewart, the

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Green Lantern, and Stephen James.

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I guess Stephen James is a Beacon 23 production of the Green Lantern.

[00:27:31] [SPEAKER_04]: So look at that.

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_04]: HBO's Lanterns.

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So did he land it or are they eyeing him?

[00:27:37] [SPEAKER_04]: It said cast, but I don't know if, yeah, it said cast, but sometimes it'd be like, we're

[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_04]: looking at him to cast.

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, yeah, I'm looking at the article.

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He's on the short list, they say.

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_02]: He'd be a great Jon Stewart.

[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a little light.

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a little on the light side.

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a little light skin.

[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_04]: He is a little light skin.

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But he was so cool in Rebel Ridge.

[00:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll allow it.

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll allow it, unfortunately.

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He's just so good.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Matt, are you familiar with this?

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know that.

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I do not know this man.

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I was just about to say.

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry to this man.

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_05]: But I like his face, you know?

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know, he looks suave.

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, you know, the little goatee situation, the round glasses, the curly little hairs.

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we were in and I was like, I don't know him.

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_04]: That was Rebel Ridge.

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm watching him.

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll watch him.

[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll watch him.

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Will you watch the movie?

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Underground Railroad was the other thing.

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He was in.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I'm sure I've seen him, but I didn't even know him by name.

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He's on a morning show.

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Check out Rebel Ridge.

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.

[00:28:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Check out Rebel Ridge.

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_04]: He was the star.

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It was a new take on, you know, kind of like the Rambo type film.

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Instead of, you know, somebody busting in the door and shooting everybody, he was disarming

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_04]: people and using nonviolence in the way Martin Luther King would have expected him to.

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: So check that out.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:29:06] [SPEAKER_04]: It's on Netflix, man.

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_04]: And so we had a good time talking about it with the Was It Good Though podcast people.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_04]: So make sure if y'all haven't listened to that, go check that out.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_04]: It was fun.

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And then coming up as well, a little bit gloomier, but something I think we definitely have to

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_04]: address.

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_04]: The ID Channel is going to be bringing us a documentary very similar to the Quiet on the

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Step documentary where they talk about the abuse some of those child stars took in the

[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_04]: late 90s, early 2000s and mid 2000s, I guess I'd say.

[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And so now the ID Channel is bringing us the Chris Brown domestic violence documentary,

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: which it premieres October 27th.

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And Martin, I feel like we have to talk about this.

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't you?

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, oh yeah.

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_02]: If you don't know anything about me, just talk about it.

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_02]: I will stay on Chris Brown's neck.

[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_02]: You will.

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like people are, why y'all still mad at him for a mistake?

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_02]: He made when he was 19 because he hasn't just stopped making mistakes.

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He's still making mistakes.

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He's been making mistakes.

[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: He just got arrested for like suspicion of assault two years ago.

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is this man is not a good man, but y'all don't care.

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Y'all still buy his CDs.

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He's still making shitty ass EDM music music, like top selling.

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, and this is as somebody who was there from the ground up when he first came out.

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why I'm so mad at him because he was like my favorite R&B artist of all time when I was 16.

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was 16.

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He's five days older than me.

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I know too much about this man.

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And I know that he's a dick.

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not surprised this is happening.

[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_05]: And he's not, and he's not worth it.

[00:30:57] [SPEAKER_05]: He's never been worth it.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, I feel like the moment that he beat up Rihanna like that, like what, why are we still with him?

[00:31:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Why do people listen to his music?

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Like he, he's gross.

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you could, you could block him on all of the streaming platforms.

[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you don't need to listen to him, but people for whatever reason, they passion, you know how, I mean, I'm sure you see it like people passionately on board with him.

[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_05]: And honestly, whether or not he made a quote unquote mistake, like I, I don't, I don't have time for it.

[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_05]: There are so many people who aren't making those same mistakes.

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a red flag.

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_05]: He keeps making the mistake.

[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm, I'm glad that he's being exposed.

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I just hope that all the people who watch quiet on set are also watching the Chris Brown documentary and more different demographics, but you know, I hope that they're watching.

[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure Lori Beth Dinberg is going to check it out.

[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, just for me, like, it's the biggest thing of like, he's not changed.

[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I, I'm the type I, again, I will, I, unless you've, you've changed or something like that, I'm, I'm going to give you hell until it's done.

[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I remember where I was at, what I was doing when I, when I first saw him, like when he was first introduced to MTV, uh, the, the, um, behind the music of run it.

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember seeing him and calling my best friend crying, like, Oh my God, this boy is so cute.

[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember me and my, my best friend went to Morgan state university's auditorium to watch him perform in front of a crowd of less than a thousand people.

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Like when he first came up, like what I tell you, I was an OG Chris Brown friend.

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I was an OG Chris Brown friend, which means like what happened in 2019 was such a huge letdown.

[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_02]: When I tell you, like, it's been really, like, it was hard for me after then to like really cut it all off.

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But everything since then has just been horrendous.

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like him stalking Carucci was like even worse.

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like to me, like, I just, I, I can't, I can't all the, all the behavior, the drug fueled behavior is just not needed.

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I just, I just can't, I, I hate when people are like, or just like, y'all won't let him.

[00:33:25] [SPEAKER_02]: He was every time it's like, he was 15.

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It's always going lower.

[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He was a baby.

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_02]: That baby beat that girl up because she hit him first.

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_04]: It's just like, but what about Carucci?

[00:33:37] [SPEAKER_04]: What about all these other, you know, allegations and stuff like that?

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're asking yourself why the ID channel is doing this, they have their annual true crime.

[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, the true crime network has an annual, like no excuse for abuse campaign that happens.

[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_04]: That starts on October 27th.

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And so investigation discoveries, documentary, Chris Brown, colon, a history of violence will launch that whole campaign.

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And so it's going to start, you know, the, like the conversation, I guess, for like a month or so about like making sure that people know that if you are abused, there are ways that you can get help.

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: But also if you are a potential abuser, Hey, get help first.

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Go to therapy, work out your stuff.

[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't touch other people's kids.

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't hit people.

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't, you know, violence is not the answer.

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_04]: All that good stuff.

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_04]: They're going to be talking about it on the ID channel.

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And I honestly didn't even know about, well, the true crime network.

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry.

[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know they had this campaign.

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm very excited to hear about it because these are things that people don't talk about.

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_05]: And low key, low key.

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_05]: They kind of ate with that one.

[00:34:38] [SPEAKER_05]: No excuse for abuse.

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Why?

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_05]: No excuse.

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Has no one else?

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_05]: No one else's stuff?

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_05]: A bar.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[00:34:45] [SPEAKER_05]: You would think you would argue with that one.

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_04]: That would be a day one type, you know, like abuse started with that.

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Abuse down a long time ago.

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah.

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So that's the entertainment news for the week.

[00:34:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Anything y'all wanted to bring up before we get into our recap of this week's project?

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And how to die alone by Natasha Rockwell on Hulu?

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: The only other thing is like shout out to Beyonce and her Levi's commercial.

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I feel like I have to bring up Beyonce on every podcast.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: You already did.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's OK.

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_02]: OK.

[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I had to make sure I got it in.

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Beyonce.

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, yeah.

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Her Levi's.

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Shout out to her and her Levi's.

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_05]: I just saw that commercial, I think, yesterday.

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_05]: But like, no, it's shout out to Beyonce.

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_05]: I hate when she she doesn't give us the visuals.

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_05]: But a few weeks ago, she did send out like what was it?

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Like a high price alcohol of some sort.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.

[00:35:43] [SPEAKER_05]: I was a special album.

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Have you had it yet?

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I hear it's really smooth.

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Have you had it, Chappelle?

[00:35:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't had it yet.

[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I personally don't even tell you hard stuff.

[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm a water and juice.

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know.

[00:35:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Are we lying today?

[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Cucumber water.

[00:36:00] [SPEAKER_02]: No, we're not lying.

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it opposite day?

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Infused waters, cucumbers.

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_04]: No crowning coke.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_04]: None of that.

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_04]: None of that.

[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I would never do coke.

[00:36:09] [SPEAKER_04]: No, never.

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah.

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Check that out.

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Beyonce, one thing she loves more than her fans is money.

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: OK.

[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to do whatever it takes to get your money.

[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_04]: OK.

[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Money Lady.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: OK.

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Do your thing.

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt, what about you?

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Anything you want to highlight?

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Recap kick black.

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, just happy to be here.

[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Happy to do this.

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I love how black the podcast is.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, how black it stays.

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So, yeah.

[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Happy to hear it.

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I hate you.

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And we will be back to talk about how to die alone on Hulu right after this break.

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[00:36:44] [SPEAKER_04]: We're back.

[00:36:46] [SPEAKER_04]: And this week, we're talking about how to die alone on Hulu.

[00:36:49] [SPEAKER_04]: This is Natasha Rothwell, who most people know, I would say, probably from Insecure.

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But she is everywhere.

[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: She has done it all.

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm so proud of her to see her as, like, a person who I remember from Insecure to writing

[00:37:04] [SPEAKER_04]: on these shows, to acting in these shows.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: The White Lotus comes to mind.

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So many different projects.

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And so this, to me, and I'm not 100% sure, but, Mari, is this her first, like, starring

[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_04]: leading lady role?

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: From my understanding, yes.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And again, I feel like Hulu did this show a disservice because I remember when we saw

[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_02]: that it was coming out, we tagged it.

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We were like, oh, we're going to watch this.

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And then next thing I know, it's out.

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: No warning.

[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing.

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Nothing.

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And, like, they released, like, four episodes.

[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, they did a weird release for it.

[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, they dropped, like, four episodes one day and, like, another four episodes the next

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_02]: day or something like that.

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, streaming and giving shows, like, only eight episodes for a season has really, like,

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_02]: really messed up.

[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, a point on TV and TV to enjoy with other people, to be quite honest.

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_02]: That being said, I love this show.

[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I begged you guys.

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, we got to talk about this show.

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to get into it.

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt, was that on your radar as well?

[00:38:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was.

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, it came up.

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_05]: So, when you mentioned it literally two days ago, I was like, oh, yeah, yeah.

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_05]: No, I, like, it sounded interesting.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know when I'd get around to it, but I definitely, like, saw, you know, just saw

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_05]: it in the ether, which was nice.

[00:38:38] [SPEAKER_05]: But I had no clue what to expect because, I mean, just to start at something so basic,

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_05]: but the title, How to Die Alone, and then all of the blurbs about it talk about, like,

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Mel is this fat black woman who works at an airport.

[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, oh, I'm intrigued.

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, let's go.

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_05]: So, I was interested, and I'm just glad to have the excuse to actually tune in for all

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_05]: of this.

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, I'm with you, Mari.

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_05]: But I feel like, just in general, the idea of, like, okay, one week we're going to release

[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_05]: half the season, and then the next week we're going to release the other half.

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, it doesn't make it so there can be the momentum for people to get on board because

[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_05]: people are only talking about it for maybe two or three weeks.

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_05]: So, that's kind of a bummer, but, you know, it doesn't affect the quality of the show,

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_05]: which is good.

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_04]: On this very podcast, Pouya and I talked, we waited a year and some change for Bel Air,

[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_04]: only for Peacock to release three episodes, three episodes, three episodes, and then two

[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_04]: episodes, basically, and just be done with it.

[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, bro, we did this whole entire show in three weeks.

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like, bro, I've been waiting over a year for this.

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_04]: What happened to the water cooler talk?

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, sitting around speculating what's going to happen from week to week.

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You almost can't talk about these kind of things with people because you don't know if

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_04]: they're caught up.

[00:39:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So, I agree not to pile on, but I've got to fix this.

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, either give it to you all or just give it weekly, you know.

[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It also kills word of mouth.

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it kills like, okay, I saw this episode.

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_02]: You should go watch it.

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you should go watch it.

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Next episode.

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[00:40:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Matt said, you can't build up steam if you're dropping it all at once.

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So, by the time we're talking about it, what, two weeks after the first match dropped?

[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, is the momentum gone?

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Will the momentum pick up now that we're talking about it?

[00:40:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Will it matter now?

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, are the metrics already, like, determined?

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I'm saying?

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I truly didn't.

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like how they're doing these rollouts.

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_02]: But, all that to say, I love this show.

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the just basic things that I want to say just from it, the fact that it's set as,

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: like, in an airport, like, people doing airport jobs.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, thank you.

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's not a hospital show.

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a cop show.

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a fire station show.

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's just kind of like Abbott to me in a sense of, like, yes, we've, I'm not saying

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Abbott Elementary invented school dramas or anything like that.

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like, it feels new and different because we don't have that many shows about teachers in schools.

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And to have a show about, like, airport workers, like, even if it's just, like, the background, really, is really kind of cool.

[00:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, I want to know how people work in airports, you know?

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_05]: No, we're seeing, we're seeing all sorts of stuff with, within the airports, like, even in terms of different settings and all the different jobs and all.

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_05]: But I think my, my favorite thing here, even just to look at it from, like, the beginning of the season, like, you kind of are made to think a certain thing about what the show is.

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_05]: And I feel like every single episode, they're just like, oh, no, you just assumed, you assumed the relationship between these people was one thing.

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_05]: It's not, you assume that this woman maybe wasn't getting it like she's been getting it, but she's getting it.

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_05]: So, like, let's, we'll show you that.

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, I really like that.

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_05]: But, and one, Natasha Rothwell is the, not only the star, but, like, creator.

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So, it makes a lot of sense that she's busting through a lot of those myths and barriers and talking about a lot of relatable stuff.

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_05]: But I just, like, I'm in love with her.

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm in love with the show.

[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_05]: So, and it is kind of a bummer that we were talking about cancellations because I bring it back for, like, give her 10 seasons and then let's see what we're going to do.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_05]: But, you know what?

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_05]: We enjoy it while we have it and hopefully we have it for a long time to come.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_04]: That was the spoiler free review.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Now we're about to get into the spoilers, y'all.

[00:43:01] [SPEAKER_04]: So, if you want to, if you don't, if you want to watch the show yourself, go check it out.

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_04]: It's got some twists and turns.

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_04]: So, it is fun.

[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And then come back and listen to the rest of the recap here.

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_04]: We got other stuff coming your way, of course.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, go check it out and come back because we're about to spoil the hell out of this show.

[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_04]: That was your warning.

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Here we go.

[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_02]: The first four episodes.

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: The first four episodes.

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari, is airport worker a Black job?

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Ooh.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Because TSA agent is definitely a Black job.

[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_02]: It is.

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure.

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It's one of them.

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_05]: There are lots of Black people at airports.

[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Depending on where the airport is.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_02]: When you think about your...

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That part, yeah.

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for sure.

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what it is.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Because when I think about, like, the TSA agent who's going to give me, like, the sternest look

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_04]: to make sure I don't do nothing, it's a Black woman.

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And or a Black man.

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, the Black man didn't grab it.

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, hey, hey, brother.

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, brother.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, look.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just taking my laptop out the bag, baby.

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It's all right.

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You know?

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So when I saw that it started here, I love this.

[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I love it.

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you compared it to Abbott.

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And I really do think, like, it had a lot of Abbott vibes in it for these first four

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_04]: episodes because you meet so many different characters.

[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_04]: We obviously have a main character, Natasha Rothwell, playing Melissa.

[00:44:15] [SPEAKER_04]: And we learn about her a lot.

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But throughout, they're giving us so much content for these other people where I start

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_04]: to, like Matt was saying, I'm looking like, does this person matter more?

[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Is this, like, should we be latching on to this story?

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Or are they just building a universe?

[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And so I started to get very excited because four episodes in, like, we're getting a season

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_04]: two?

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, are we, like, you know, like, why are we doing so much world building?

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_04]: So it may be very excited to get to know them.

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And I also agree with you that this was a story that I've never seen told like this.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, she finds out that, um, she died, um, on accident.

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_04]: She choked on a crab rangoon, her favorite food on her birthday.

[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, and then, uh, basically a shelf fell on her, knocked her out.

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_04]: She died.

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, umlaut, umlaut that she put together herself.

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_04]: On her lonely birthday.

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she comes back from that.

[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_04]: As she was haunting a rat in her apartment.

[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Lord.

[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like they have to remind us over and over again to just life.

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Life just keeps knocking her down, Matt.

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, it does.

[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_05]: And I think that like, even with the title, just going back to the title, like, I assumed

[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_05]: this was going to be the saddest, most pitiful person, but as much as life keeps not literally

[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_05]: knocking her down, um, and trying to take her out.

[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, I, I love that you kind of see these glimpses of her where you're like, oh, you speak

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_05]: multiple languages and you sign and you're like very personable and you're, you just really

[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_05]: friendly.

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, it's not just the typical story of someone whose life completely sucks.

[00:45:47] [SPEAKER_05]: And if anything, I kind of feel like I was expecting her to be more lonely, more by herself

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_05]: when she has all these people gravitating to her and getting in her corner, which, you

[00:45:58] [SPEAKER_05]: know, I don't really understand, uh, the title of the show yet, but, uh, she's not dead

[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_05]: yet.

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_02]: That's pretty nice.

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So, so, so, so for me, of course, Natasha Rothwell comes from the insecure background and

[00:46:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw a lot of elements of insecure in here.

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but for me, the, the, how to die alone title to me, it's kind of like, because she

[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_02]: has her near death experience in the first episode, it's like, we're watching her turn

[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_02]: her life around, like, but not in a way that feels like, you know, last holiday or.

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I was just about to say.

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, like hokey in a sense, it, it, it almost feels like some like real shit that somebody

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_02]: would do if they just had a near death experience because like going into her accident, she, the

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_02]: same day she gets a, um, an E invitation and invite to her, her ex's, uh, wedding.

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And her ex happens to be her boss at work.

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Which we find out, which we find out later because that was definitely not clear until

[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_05]: about episode two slash three.

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is, which is very fun.

[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And, but like she, and then she ends up in the hospital.

[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_02]: She realizes she doesn't, she doesn't have anybody to call.

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_04]: She's her own emergency contact.

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Which is just like, please don't do that y'all.

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Please.

[00:47:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say practical.

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_02]: As a medical professional, please do that.

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and then she, she has like that magical Negro moment with like, there's a woman in a

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_02]: bed next to her who's like, gives her this like magical life advice and then like immediately

[00:47:54] [SPEAKER_02]: dies.

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Two things wrong with this.

[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, hospitals like no longer really share rooms like that.

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Hollywood hasn't caught up.

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They don't do that specifically for reasons like this.

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you, so you're not sharing a room with somebody.

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a curtain dividing and then they die and you're just sitting there with their dead

[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_02]: body there and then you puke on their dead.

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, I'm, I'm going to.

[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_04]: She puked on that dead lady's face.

[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_04]: We can't just walk past that.

[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then covered it back up.

[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_05]: That's so weird.

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_05]: What is the coroner going to say?

[00:48:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, that was, honestly, she disrespected.

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And her name is, to honor the dead, her name is Elise.

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh.

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_05]: And she, she not only puked on her face, but at some point she robbed her.

[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_02]: She stole her identity.

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, this woman is down bad.

[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, on her birthday, she missed Lizzo, uh, in the airport.

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_04]: She died, came back to life after her friend deserted her to go be with his bi-coastal bay.

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, she got invited to the love of her life's, uh, wedding.

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Who happens to be her boss.

[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_04]: She was in hell.

[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And so she wanted to go to the wedding.

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, she was invited, but she wanted to fly to Hawaii to go and kick it with her

[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_04]: love of her life.

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, the one who's getting married.

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_04]: She wants to go there.

[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But she's never flown before.

[00:49:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's afraid to fly working at an airport.

[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_04]: It just looks so much.

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a waste of my, of like, I'm pretty sure they get the employee thing, right?

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_02]: The discount.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:49:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, wait, that's what I wonder, because do you have to work at the airline?

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Because if you work for an airline, you'd definitely get that.

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_05]: But if you get, I bet if you work in the airport, you probably don't, they probably don't give

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_05]: you a shit if you work at the airport.

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's be honest.

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Let us know.

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to know that.

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to know that for sure.

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Just, you know, for reasons, for research.

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, if you work at the Hudson News at the airport, you're not getting like discounted

[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_05]: flights.

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_05]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_04]: You work at the Raging Canes.

[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So I did like, like, she seems to, like, try and turn her life around afterwards.

[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_02]: She makes some friends and stuff and wants to fly to Hawaii.

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, Chappelle.

[00:50:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to take over.

[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But can we talk about her friend Rory, please?

[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I am on the fence about this man.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's the beauty.

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's the beauty of this.

[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Because even to where we got, like, halfway through the season, I'm still on the fence.

[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah.

[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Rory, where are you going with this?

[00:50:40] [SPEAKER_02]: So Rory is Melissa's gay best friend, right?

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_02]: He clearly is struggling with some daddy issues.

[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He is, I know, I feel like, like, he's so he's Asian, but he was adopted by rich white people.

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So president of the airport or something like that.

[00:51:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:51:01] [SPEAKER_04]: The guy who owns the building.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The guy who owns the building is his dad.

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And he literally only works at the Hudson News to fulfill, like, a work, like, a work requirement.

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So for his trust fund.

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So he has some, like, he has definitely some issues with his father.

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he's, like, and then, like, some issues.

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Daddy issues.

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And then him about, like, about him being rich as well.

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, it's such an interesting relationship because he's rich and she's poor working at an airport.

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And we get we we get her, like, hints at her money troubles throughout the four episodes.

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But they're, like, best friends.

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: But then, like, are they?

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Because he also did desert her on her boyfriend for a dick appointment.

[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_05]: OK.

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_05]: But you know what?

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Friends understand when friends need appointments.

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It's so bad to her about that appointment.

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he could have really let her in on.

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_02]: He did not tell her.

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_02]: He made up a lie.

[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Bring her along.

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, from his point of view, he's like, it's really he's starting to feel guilty.

[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, he's got survivor's remorse because every time he comes around her, it's like a dark cloud is following her.

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, we talked about what happened on her birthday and she died.

[00:52:18] [SPEAKER_04]: She literally died on her birthday.

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like, would you want to tell somebody?

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, yeah.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_04]: But like, oh, yeah, he definitely could have gone.

[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Make no mistake.

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_04]: He could have gone and saved her life.

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_04]: But when he doesn't go, let's say he told her for sure.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Got a date.

[00:52:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Got to go.

[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Bet.

[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, that's not going to change the outcome of this.

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, she's still going to die at that point.

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I think that for him, he's like, I can't keep coming around you with good news because everything you tell me is a sob story.

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like you went to go see Lizzo and fell off the cart you were riding on and then a giant apple started rolling down the hall and you almost got, you got demoted.

[00:52:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And, uh, and, and then despite, you know, dying, you're also now on painkillers and potentially, you know, not even able to function at work where you shouldn't even be coming because you can barely drive.

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like there's a lot going on.

[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That part was really funny.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_04]: We're trying to keep distance from her probably.

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:53:12] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm also just going to point out, she didn't get that many painkillers, which is a whole other thing, which I feel like it was like a wink and a nod to like black women in the medical system.

[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_05]: But, uh, you know what?

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like the thing is she's not even that much of a downer.

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Like we all know people who are just like, you know, she has a way of making it light and fun.

[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And he, I feel like has a similar amount of negativity or just like, oh, they feed off of each other.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Very Molly.

[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_02]: You just knocked it out.

[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I was sitting here thinking, I was like, it's so hard for us to describe their friendship because it's like.

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_04]: They're codependent.

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It's codependent.

[00:53:57] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a, like a little bit of mild hatred.

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:54:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Disdain for sure.

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, cause, uh, in episode three, they have a huge fight that I was just like, oh my God, like that fight y'all.

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, Ooh, body blow, body blow.

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_05]: But I'm still confused because I had to watch back the fight because I'm like, wait, who's right here?

[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Who's signing my honor?

[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Who's signing my honor?

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They were making points.

[00:54:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They were both making points.

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It was so rough.

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Because she's like, you weren't there for me.

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I can't be there for you every second of the day.

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And we were talking about the downer thing.

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And, and he was like, I have the bike.

[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Bico so Bay is now turning into like a boyfriend.

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I have a boyfriend.

[00:54:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I have a good news.

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, and you abandoned me.

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, it's so weird because he, he feels like one of those that once he gets a boyfriend, he like.

[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_02]: He got a deal.

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_02]: But then also like, is she asking too much of him?

[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But him, him like capping off by yelling, like, I'm not your boyfriend was like, whoo-wee.

[00:55:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, when she had an emergency contact, she called Rory, you know?

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think in a general sense, like if you have a significant other, that's probably who you would call.

[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think he's looking and seeing like, maybe there are roles that he shouldn't be filling, even though she has nobody else.

[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_04]: He's probably like, dang, I would love to fill these roles as your friend.

[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_04]: But at the same time, like mama got to have a life too.

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But she clapped back and said, you're not even my friend.

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Which I was like.

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_05]: What?

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Is he?

[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean.

[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_05]: That is such like a toddler.

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_05]: No.

[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_02]: She thinks he's giving everything.

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, no, you're so selfish and self-centered that you don't see that you aren't there for me on the things I actually need you to be there for me for.

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah.

[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And and so it's like it's like the big picture, I guess, versus the little stuff.

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It's what men might see versus what what women might see.

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, even even like with her, I think her thing is that she has so much going on.

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_04]: There's like they watched all the shows together.

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_04]: They sleep in the same bed.

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_04]: A lot of times they eat together.

[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_04]: They do all this stuff together.

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And then the one time he misses something, she dies.

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But she's like, where were you, my friend, when you were supposed to be there for me?

[00:56:29] [SPEAKER_04]: He was like, well, I did this.

[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I did this.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I did this.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I did this.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I did this.

[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_04]: So I died and you weren't there.

[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like, OK, well, do I can't be everywhere for you all the time.

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like, I just want you to be there when I die.

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And when big stuff like that happens.

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_04]: So I think that's the disconnect.

[00:56:43] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like they both are looking at what they could be doing differently.

[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, it's very draining on both of them.

[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she she doesn't have anybody else.

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look at the relationship she has with her brother, Matt.

[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, that's and I'm like, that's that's strange, too.

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm very much wondering what's going on with her brother, her brother, Brian.

[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_05]: And by the way, I had to do like an org chart situation of everybody.

[00:57:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I see there's so many different people.

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, OK, here's her brother.

[00:57:09] [SPEAKER_05]: But then her brother is like on a date with this one person.

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_05]: But does that other person pop up somewhere else?

[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_05]: So she is she is really dealing with a lot.

[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_05]: And just to go back for a second before getting to her brother, like because she's also navigating

[00:57:23] [SPEAKER_05]: like, oh, I think he's cheating on his wife.

[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_05]: And that's a whole mess.

[00:57:28] [SPEAKER_05]: But like back to Rory for a second.

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, Rory, we have to remember, got Melissa one got Melissa to quit her whole job with the

[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_05]: racist, fat phobic boss, but then also got her a job at the airport.

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_05]: And so I kind of see like the push in the pole where he's like, I've done so much for you.

[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Like I show up for you.

[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I sleep with you.

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_05]: But asking her to turn down.

[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, exactly that.

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that was a lot.

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a lot.

[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And what is happening here?

[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's like we don't get the cut and dry characters.

[00:58:04] [SPEAKER_05]: And I love that.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_05]: How much time is passing over the course of like these first the first half of this?

[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Is this like three days?

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the first couple the first couple of episodes is a short amount of time.

[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_04]: And then there's a time jump right before episode five.

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah.

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like all that is her reacting and dealing with the near death experience and actually

[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_04]: death experience of dying.

[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I think the rest of it is her like trying to rebuild.

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you get the time jump of like the new fully formed her after, you know, episode

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_04]: four.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And we won't talk about this this week, but that'll be our next week content to give people

[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_04]: time to watch it.

[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously.

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so, yeah, I think that's the issue.

[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they had what?

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Eight episodes and they had to tell this story.

[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, OK, about four episodes in it.

[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You're right, Matt.

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I wasn't really expecting where to go because the same person who's telling us that I'm

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_04]: so lonely.

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't got no man.

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the blurb on the Hulu website said broke fat black JFK airport employee who's never

[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_04]: been in love and forgotten how to dream.

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_04]: What?

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_04]: What?

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_04]: This lady got hoes, Mari.

[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she does.

[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, men ain't shit in this series.

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_02]: What about, you know, Terrence?

[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, cool.

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's got a best friend?

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, OK.

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_02]: OK.

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_02]: The friend.

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_02]: The light skin one.

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_02]: OK.

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the one.

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He's the one though.

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_05]: He's the one though, Mari.

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So she so.

[00:59:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But but I can't even blame her for Alex.

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So Alex is her.

[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't blame Alex for Alex.

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Alex is her boss.

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_02]: And Alex is the one, her ex who got away, who's getting married.

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We do finally get a flashback.

[00:59:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to say an episode three of what happened between them.

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And oh, my God, it was so good.

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So her and Alex are kicking it.

[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You can tell they they just like they said, they just get each other.

[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They have.

[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:00:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They have this amazing chemistry, this amazing rapport.

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's up there all up on each other in a Thai restaurant.

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_02]: And basically, he wants to he says, I love you.

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's after three months of them like kicking it.

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And he wants to go public at work.

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He wants to declare their relationship for HR.

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, no, we're just having fun and blah, blah, blah.

[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And she breaks up with him right then there.

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, girl, what?

[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we come to find out she's talking to Rory, which I'm pretty sure stokes some

[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_02]: of that resentment that Rory has for her.

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Like she's talking to Rory.

[01:00:44] [SPEAKER_02]: She basically broke up with Alex because she didn't think she was good enough for him.

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_02]: She said he fell in love with this three months of me that I've been presenting to him.

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't shown him the real me.

[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_02]: He won't like the real me.

[01:00:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm cutting it off before he can cut it off with me.

[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: It's such a real insecure thing that a lot of people do.

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_02]: There you go.

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's just like now can you blame Rory for being mad at her for throwing away a good

[01:01:13] [SPEAKER_02]: thing because she was afraid of what might happen?

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And then now I got to carry that load of of what could have been somebody else here.

[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's just so many layers.

[01:01:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, like also just like to add, like, yeah, like self-sabotage, like her inner saboteur

[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_05]: is catching up with her.

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And it makes me think like even when she's making that putting that wardrobe together from

[01:01:37] [SPEAKER_05]: from the fake Ikea, like it does say it takes more than one person to put it together.

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_05]: So like she knew and she still did it.

[01:01:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And look what happened.

[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_05]: And so I feel like like it's hard because you kind of like have to like you kind of love

[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_05]: you love these characters, but you also like hate them and you're like frustrated by them

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_05]: because they're way too human.

[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Like we all make mistakes like that.

[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I totally agree.

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_02]: What's the what's the other guy's name?

[01:02:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Carlos.

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Nasty.

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I am so like what?

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Why?

[01:02:17] [SPEAKER_02]: This man is giving her heavy eyes.

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_02]: He's asking her out to lunch.

[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like asking her questions about herself.

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm like, OK, girl, give me, give me.

[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: She finally gives in because, of course, something happens with her ex.

[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And they're like doing it in the evident.

[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: What is that?

[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: The confiscated.

[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_02]: The confiscated.

[01:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: The confiscated.

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: The confiscated.

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_02]: In the room.

[01:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: In the airport.

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not good.

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like my wife, your wife.

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: What?

[01:02:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Didn't ask.

[01:02:56] [SPEAKER_04]: He's like, what that got to do with you?

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't ask.

[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_04]: She didn't do the research.

[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: You got to ask.

[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm sorry.

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't ask.

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You were only just flirting with me through the whole management class and coming on extra

[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_02]: heavy.

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think I would have had to ask.

[01:03:13] [SPEAKER_02]: What the fuck, man?

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Them having sex in the airport, though.

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I was like, hey, y'all, you know, have some decorum.

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Go home.

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Come on, man.

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_04]: That was crazy.

[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, but I should have known because I like, like, I was like, okay, cool.

[01:03:29] [SPEAKER_02]: You should have known.

[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It was cool.

[01:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But and then as soon as they're having sex, I'm like, wait, wait, wait, wait, this is

[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_02]: going too fast for me.

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like the reveal of him being married.

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I was just like, yeah, that's about right.

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that's how I felt like her.

[01:03:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like.

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_04]: That's because this is insecure, Matt.

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_04]: All of these things.

[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, if you look at this through the lens of this is insecure, you got multiple suitors

[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_04]: and you got the one that you think you're in love with.

[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_04]: It that you don't know.

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.

[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't figure it out.

[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You got one that you're going to try him, but the sex ain't great.

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Blah, blah, blah.

[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, it was very much the same kind of vibe.

[01:03:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's like, you know, live your life.

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Have safety with whoever you want to.

[01:04:02] [SPEAKER_04]: But also sometimes you got to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince.

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And so that's kind of what I was getting.

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But a lot of them working in the background.

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I feel like a lot of it didn't need to happen, though.

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, because look, we're getting the Melissa Alex dynamic, which again, I'm just like, OK,

[01:04:19] [SPEAKER_05]: she's I'm perceiving it like she's just into him.

[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Like she has a crush on him.

[01:04:23] [SPEAKER_05]: It'll never happen.

[01:04:25] [SPEAKER_05]: He's taken.

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_05]: He's getting mawied like all that.

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm just like.

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_05]: We get to this whole point, like we get the white, the fiance mixed into it.

[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Her friend, like Melissa needs to keep her damn mouth shut because she's like digging deeper

[01:04:45] [SPEAKER_05]: and deeper and deeper and deeper.

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_05]: So I get look.

[01:04:50] [SPEAKER_02]: But honestly, when we first are introduced to Alex, like like they did.

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_02]: They did it so masterfully because she's talking to him and there's still chemistry.

[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_02]: They're still flirting.

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, oh, OK, is this the love interest?

[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But see, that's where I'm like, I'm like, is it something?

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And then they reveal he's the ex, though.

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then that's where you're like, oh, OK.

[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: So so when they revealed that she was the one who because he Rory said it, that she was

[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_02]: the one who who broke up with him.

[01:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And but when they revealed how it happened, I was like, oh, how are you fumbled a bag like

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_02]: that?

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, she didn't consider him her ex because she had been saying that they didn't go together.

[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_04]: No way.

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_04]: He was like, we dated for three months.

[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_04]: She was like, we were having sex.

[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, Melissa, now, girl, you afraid to die alone.

[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But this is how you treating people.

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I don't know if you have the room to do this.

[01:05:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But Alex, the thing about him is that it's hard to hate him.

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:05:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you want to be with her.

[01:05:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We're rooting for her.

[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Alex, get away from her.

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Let her move on.

[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Let her try Carlos.

[01:05:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, and we're like, what?

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_04]: OK, fine.

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Try it.

[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And the whole time we're like hoping that Carlos will take her away from this, like save

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_04]: her from this train wreck because this man is getting married in Hawaii.

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Stop letting him lick his lips and look at you crazy because he's moving on.

[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, when you find out that like, no, this man said I love you to her.

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_04]: He's in love.

[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_04]: He's pining for her, not the other way around.

[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I was like, OK, dang, I got a room for him.

[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, so four episodes in, I'm thinking, do I want them to be together?

[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, do I want this woman to ruin this marriage so that they can run off together?

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_04]: What are we looking for here, Matt?

[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_02]: But they didn't give us anything with the fiance.

[01:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, they didn't.

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And you know what?

[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Give she needs a new job, honestly.

[01:06:44] [SPEAKER_05]: That's my first thing here.

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_05]: But you know what?

[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm kind of pissed that Alex invited her to the wedding because I get it.

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, you didn't have to do that.

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you knew she was.

[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_05]: You knew she doesn't want to fly anyway.

[01:06:58] [SPEAKER_05]: So just like don't invite her.

[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Tell her about the wedding.

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And then then we're all good, right?

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, then we don't have a problem.

[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Then we don't even have a show.

[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't invite people to your wedding that you even like don't invite people thinking

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: that you expect them not to come.

[01:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's a wild one.

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_05]: That's a wild one.

[01:07:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, she's the ex.

[01:07:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And obviously it comes up later on like, oh, I need to talk with Julie about our relationship.

[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Like what?

[01:07:24] [SPEAKER_05]: OK, like why didn't we?

[01:07:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Why was she invited?

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_05]: How did she get on the wedding invite list without an explanation?

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Was it just like she's the co-worker or my friend, my homegirl?

[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, how did Rory end up on the invite list?

[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Like how big is this wedding?

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It's the plus one.

[01:07:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Rory was the plus one.

[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_04]: He was going to pay for Melissa.

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: That's how rich he is.

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: He was like, I don't pay for you to go to Hawaii and you ain't got to worry about paying

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: me back.

[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll get the fiance.

[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: The fiance and her friend are supposed to be leaving from JFK to go to the bachelorette party.

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_02]: But because there's a missing child, the terminal goes on lockdown.

[01:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And Melissa accidentally told the fiance's best friend that she's still pining for a guy at work.

[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It was bad.

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_02]: It was.

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_05]: By the way, I don't know why I'm upset.

[01:08:15] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, what are these people's names?

[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't keep up with who's who.

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Her, her, Mari, her friend, the fiance's friend is named Marissa.

[01:08:24] [SPEAKER_05]: So it was Melissa and Marissa.

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, geez.

[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Too confusing.

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:08:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Probably not important at all.

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, no, she was driving her around with her broken ankle and whatever and telling

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_05]: all the tea like Melissa was telling her whole business about being in love still with her

[01:08:43] [SPEAKER_05]: ex who she worked with.

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So awkward.

[01:08:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then we got the fiance going with Melissa somewhere.

[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_02]: This felt like a pissing moment.

[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Like the fiance.

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, it was punctuated.

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: The music here.

[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Lady Saw, one of my favorite songs.

[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I've Got Your Man by Lady Saw.

[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_02]: One of my favorites.

[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And the soundtrack to this underrated.

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Shout out to Insecure.

[01:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[01:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Insecure.

[01:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to that Chick Angel's One Margarita opening up.

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I got it.

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:09:22] [SPEAKER_02]: It was great.

[01:09:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So it was just like this.

[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: This show.

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_02]: It feels like you would think exactly like you could plot out what this is.

[01:09:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's a fat black person.

[01:09:36] [SPEAKER_02]: They're miserable.

[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Blah, blah, blah, blah.

[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's not.

[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like it really isn't.

[01:09:41] [SPEAKER_02]: There's so many layers to all the relationships in this.

[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_02]: While we're saying all this, it's also hella funny.

[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's so funny.

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So funny.

[01:09:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I did laugh when Julie, the fiancee, confronts Mel about their relationship.

[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So she's kind of like, so y'all dated?

[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like what's going on?

[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she's kind of just trying to like downplay it a little bit.

[01:10:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, no, we're just friends.

[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She's like, okay, girl.

[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I just really thought like, you know, I had something to be worried about.

[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_04]: But clearly I don't.

[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, you know what I'm saying?

[01:10:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we're good here.

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And it is hella awkward.

[01:10:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you could cut the attention in the night.

[01:10:15] [SPEAKER_04]: It was so funny.

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But while this is going on, we cannot forget the comedic timing that's happening on the

[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_04]: outside crew.

[01:10:22] [SPEAKER_04]: When she goes out to smoke her cigarettes, we meet the people who are out there on the

[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_04]: tarmac doing the work.

[01:10:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is her crew.

[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_04]: We meet Terrence.

[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_04]: We can completely skip over her co-worker slash nemesis, Patty.

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:10:38] [SPEAKER_04]: The white lady.

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: The one lone white lady.

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Kermit Patty.

[01:10:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Patty, who is everything low key.

[01:10:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, she is so funny.

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But I think you got Terrence, Deshawn, and Sean.

[01:10:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.

[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're really good friends to her.

[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, like they're like, they're like her, like her boys, you know, like, oh, yeah.

[01:10:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm missing somebody.

[01:10:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Who was the woman that they were hanging out with too?

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Was it Tamika?

[01:11:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, Kaya.

[01:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Kaya.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[01:11:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, Kaya, like from Hudson News?

[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Or from the outside crew?

[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_04]: No, she was in the crew too, but she's from Hudson News.

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Trina.

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: That's Trina, right?

[01:11:16] [SPEAKER_04]: No, that's big titty Trina.

[01:11:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You talking about the wrong person.

[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: What?

[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no.

[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Trina from Insecure.

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking about the wrong one.

[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh.

[01:11:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, who was Trina on Insecure?

[01:11:28] [SPEAKER_02]: She was in there.

[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_02]: She was the one who was selling the lotion watches.

[01:11:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, she was.

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: But that was.

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.

[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_04]: No, I meant like, who was she on Insecure?

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, who was Trina?

[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, which one was Trina?

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: As in with the.

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my God.

[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait, Mari.

[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_02]: My mama said.

[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: My mama said.

[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: You better stop.

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Whatever, whatever.

[01:11:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Or, you know.

[01:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Trina, who was.

[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was.

[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was at.

[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Who.

[01:11:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Who.

[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, no, you're right.

[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_05]: She was.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_05]: She was.

[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_05]: She was.

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_05]: She was.

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_05]: On Insecure.

[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_02]: She was Trina on Insecure.

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Who would.

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Different hair.

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Different hair.

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Different hair.

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Who had the kid.

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And.

[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to think of all this.

[01:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: All the funny stuff she said.

[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But she.

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_02]: But she wasn't saying stuff.

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like when they had through the party in the courtyard.

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And Trina came down to the party.

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: OK.

[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Trina.

[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:12:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm back.

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That was her.

[01:12:20] [SPEAKER_02]: She was selling the lotion watches.

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: More.

[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: First of all.

[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_04]: What?

[01:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Also.

[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_04]: More insecure overlap.

[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Of course.

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_04]: She's a part of the crew.

[01:12:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And this is kind of where.

[01:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Melissa goes to wind down.

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_04]: She smokes her cigarettes.

[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_04]: And she gets a lot of sage wisdom.

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_04]: From these knuckleheads.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_04]: They are.

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: They're all.

[01:12:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Such a fun group.

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And they really add to the comedic timing of it.

[01:12:42] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_04]: We also have the third.

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Member of.

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I guess this.

[01:12:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Love square.

[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Or whatever.

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Terrence.

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Who.

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_04]: To me.

[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_04]: At the naked eye.

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You would think.

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:12:51] [SPEAKER_04]: This is just one of her boys.

[01:12:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Very clear early on.

[01:12:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That he likes her a lot.

[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Is it?

[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_02]: To me it was.

[01:12:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean.

[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean.

[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_05]: I thought it could be.

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Just like a platonic friendship.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was very platonic.

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: For once.

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Then.

[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[01:13:06] [SPEAKER_02]: For once.

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it was a platonic friendship.

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then.

[01:13:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I think.

[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think there's like.

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_02]: They're laying the groundwork.

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_02]: For like.

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it might be something different.

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: I think the way.

[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I was watching it.

[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Is that.

[01:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm eliminating some of these people.

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: As it's going on.

[01:13:22] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking.

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Once she has.

[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Sex with Carlos.

[01:13:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And it doesn't work out.

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: This ain't.

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm out on Carlos.

[01:13:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm out on.

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm out on Alex.

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_04]: For obvious reasons.

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_04]: He's getting married.

[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like.

[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Putting all my chips.

[01:13:35] [SPEAKER_04]: In the Terrence basket.

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: But he's dating someone.

[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_04]: When the show starts.

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: As well.

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: So.

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of like.

[01:13:40] [SPEAKER_04]: He's not really on the market.

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm like.

[01:13:41] [SPEAKER_04]: We got to find somebody for her.

[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Because she's obviously on the prowl.

[01:13:45] [SPEAKER_04]: She has people interested in her.

[01:13:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It's a matter of finding which one.

[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_04]: We haven't.

[01:13:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Really talked about her brother a lot.

[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_04]: But we will.

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God.

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to.

[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to.

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Woo.

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_04]: We end episode four.

[01:13:58] [SPEAKER_04]: With her.

[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Finally going to dating sites.

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: She got this.

[01:14:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Good wisdom from Alex.

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He said.

[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_04]: You have to be like a Roomba.

[01:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.

[01:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to hit a lot of walls.

[01:14:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But that's going to help you navigate later on.

[01:14:08] [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I'm saying?

[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_04]: So you got to hit the walls first.

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So that you can carve your path.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Deep.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Makes sense.

[01:14:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Deep.

[01:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Deep as hell.

[01:14:15] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the moment.

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: This is the moment where I started looking at Terrence.

[01:14:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Because she goes out after talking to Alex.

[01:14:22] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's like.

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Terrence.

[01:14:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I love that you be out here.

[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Doing such and such.

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: This that and other.

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And I love that you got good chips.

[01:14:28] [SPEAKER_04]: And she takes this man potato chips.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And he is going on record and said.

[01:14:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to share my food.

[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: That's a deal breaker for me.

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: I ain't marrying nobody if I got to share my food.

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He let this woman walk off with her chips.

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like.

[01:14:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Right after.

[01:14:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Right after he hit his girlfriend with the skirt skirt.

[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to say.

[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Swipe in.

[01:15:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me pick a full body picture.

[01:15:12] [SPEAKER_04]: We're going to go.

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Right way.

[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt.

[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_04]: She found her brother on a dating site.

[01:15:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:15:17] [SPEAKER_05]: They need to figure out the algorithm.

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Get the DNA and the algorithms.

[01:15:21] [SPEAKER_05]: That doesn't happen.

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Because that could.

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Like look.

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_05]: We don't want.

[01:15:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:15:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Accident.

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We just.

[01:15:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We don't want any of that.

[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_05]: We don't want any of that.

[01:15:30] [SPEAKER_05]: That's weird.

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel bad for her though.

[01:15:33] [SPEAKER_05]: That that's how she had to find out.

[01:15:35] [SPEAKER_05]: But.

[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Mari.

[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_05]: I know you want to drag the brother.

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I do.

[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like we don't know much about him.

[01:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to do it yet.

[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.

[01:15:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to drag the ever loving shit out of him.

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to pull him by his roots.

[01:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: But.

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean.

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: He is.

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to do that on the second part.

[01:15:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: If he's on a dating site.

[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_04]: He is a filthy cheater.

[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Because we haven't said.

[01:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: He is.

[01:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But he is married.

[01:15:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: But him and Melissa have.

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Such a interesting dynamic.

[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: He's very much.

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:16:05] [SPEAKER_04]: He's presenting himself as like.

[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to be responsible.

[01:16:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I have to do all the right things.

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And Melissa gets to be a bum.

[01:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:16:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Melissa.

[01:16:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Is like.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You talk to me like I'm a bum.

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_04]: You treat me like I'm less than.

[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And so they're.

[01:16:18] [SPEAKER_04]: They're bumping heads right there.

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: But Matt.

[01:16:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Does she have to steal this man's social security number?

[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.

[01:16:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't.

[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't feel bad about it.

[01:16:28] [SPEAKER_05]: God.

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_05]: But no.

[01:16:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean.

[01:16:30] [SPEAKER_05]: She didn't have.

[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_05]: This is the thing.

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_05]: She seems really desperate.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't realize how desperate she truly was.

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Until she started stealing from everyone.

[01:16:40] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:16:41] [SPEAKER_05]: I.

[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_05]: It's.

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_05]: It's hard.

[01:16:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Because like.

[01:16:45] [SPEAKER_05]: She.

[01:16:45] [SPEAKER_05]: To me.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_05]: To me.

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Even by this point.

[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Despite everything she'd been through.

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_05]: She wasn't giving.

[01:16:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Desperation.

[01:16:52] [SPEAKER_05]: To the levels that she.

[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.

[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_05]: That hospital bill.

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Will murder you.

[01:16:56] [SPEAKER_05]: But like.

[01:16:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Don't they have a payment plan?

[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Can't you pay like $25 a month?

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_05]: But.

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Was she.

[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Did she actually like steal his money?

[01:17:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought she just needed him to co-sign.

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_02]: She stole his identity, Mari.

[01:17:07] [SPEAKER_02]: She stole his identity.

[01:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Not his identity.

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: To co-sign for her payments.

[01:17:11] [SPEAKER_05]: But even then.

[01:17:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:17:13] [SPEAKER_05]: No.

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_05]: It's rough.

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_05]: It's rough that she even had to do that.

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_05]: And.

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_05]: It also does just feel like a.

[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:17:20] [SPEAKER_05]: You know.

[01:17:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Fuck the medical system situation.

[01:17:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Very bad.

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Very bad.

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_04]: The real villain here is poverty.

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's not forget.

[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_05]: The rich get richer.

[01:17:29] [SPEAKER_05]: The poor get poorer.

[01:17:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Not to make this a thing.

[01:17:31] [SPEAKER_04]: But it's a thing y'all.

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_04]: No.

[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Her brother has a white wife.

[01:17:36] [SPEAKER_04]: And he is like.

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Hey.

[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I would.

[01:17:39] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:17:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I have a family that I'm raising.

[01:17:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And she's kind of like.

[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Poking fun at him and his white wife.

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of.

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Like.

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:17:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of like back and forth.

[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Between the two of them.

[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously he doesn't know.

[01:17:51] [SPEAKER_04]: That she stole his identity.

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_04]: It seems like.

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Throughout their childhood.

[01:17:55] [SPEAKER_04]: And their life.

[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_04]: They just haven't been able.

[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: To get on the same page.

[01:17:58] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:17:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Now that she has this information.

[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_04]: About him.

[01:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: We are going to assume.

[01:18:03] [SPEAKER_04]: The shenanigans.

[01:18:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Are possible.

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Because.

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: She has this information.

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: She knows.

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: That he's on dating sites.

[01:18:09] [SPEAKER_04]: And that he's married.

[01:18:10] [SPEAKER_04]: And this might make.

[01:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: The shining star of the family.

[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:18:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Not look so shiny.

[01:18:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Well let me ask.

[01:18:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Let me ask about something.

[01:18:16] [SPEAKER_05]: With.

[01:18:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Stealing the identity.

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Did she know.

[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Because the way I saw it.

[01:18:21] [SPEAKER_05]: She knew his social.

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_05]: She already knew that.

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_05]: As opposed to.

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_05]: She knew it up to top of her.

[01:18:26] [SPEAKER_05]: She did.

[01:18:26] [SPEAKER_05]: She knew it up to top of her.

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_05]: To me that indicates.

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Like some sort of.

[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Like.

[01:18:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know why he knows it.

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Um.

[01:18:33] [SPEAKER_05]: But.

[01:18:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like she's.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_05]: You know.

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_05]: She's also been able to support him.

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Or at least be in his life.

[01:18:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Close enough to.

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Know his social.

[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm assuming she didn't steal that.

[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_05]: At some other point.

[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean.

[01:18:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It sounds like she stole it.

[01:18:45] [SPEAKER_04]: At some other point.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean.

[01:18:46] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't have any.

[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_04]: We don't have any information.

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_04]: To determine whether she did or not.

[01:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: But.

[01:18:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know my brother's social.

[01:18:53] [SPEAKER_04]: And we don't fight like this.

[01:18:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So I'll have to.

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_05]: That's wild.

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:18:57] [SPEAKER_04]: And look.

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to give her the benefit of the doubt.

[01:19:00] [SPEAKER_04]: But we saw her rob a dead lady.

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_05]: We sure did.

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Which.

[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Which like the dead lady kind of.

[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_05]: You know.

[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I was okay with that.

[01:19:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Because.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she.

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Like she like.

[01:19:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Left wielded to her in her death.

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: She did.

[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_04]: She was like.

[01:19:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Just go out there.

[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Have fun.

[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Go have some kyoza in Japan.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my damn.

[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Take my dog.

[01:19:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Why else would she have died?

[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Take my dog.

[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I like seeing this dynamic between her and her brother.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like just outright.

[01:19:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like hating each other.

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Was very.

[01:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: A very interesting dynamic.

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And yes.

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I will be.

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I.

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: First thing.

[01:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I will.

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: First thing we will be doing next week.

[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I will be dragging him.

[01:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I know it.

[01:19:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I might come in on.

[01:19:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I might.

[01:19:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me go see.

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Build a defense for my boy.

[01:19:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me see if I can.

[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God.

[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Get my court documents together.

[01:19:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But shout out to Bashir.

[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: That's Bashir Salahuddin.

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Who.

[01:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Was a writer.

[01:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And was on Southside.

[01:19:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Another black show.

[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: That has gone too soon.

[01:19:58] [SPEAKER_02]: If you have not watched Southside.

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Please do.

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It is one of the funniest shows.

[01:20:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Ever.

[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I really want to know if he.

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Now I need to see if he's a writer on.

[01:20:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_02]: No.

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not a writer on.

[01:20:12] [SPEAKER_02]: How to die alone.

[01:20:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But Southside is another one of those.

[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Really funny black shows.

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Where it's.

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a workplace comedy.

[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: In a workplace you just would not.

[01:20:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Like normally get there.

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a workplace comedy.

[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: At like a renter center store.

[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Like where they do like repos.

[01:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: On like furniture and stuff.

[01:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That people don't.

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't do their payments on.

[01:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And Bashir plays a police officer.

[01:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: In it.

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And it takes place in Chicago.

[01:20:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It's outside of Chicago.

[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And it is.

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: It is so.

[01:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Have you.

[01:20:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You've never seen it.

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Chappelle.

[01:20:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my God.

[01:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It is.

[01:20:48] [SPEAKER_02]: This show is so funny.

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_02]: You gotta go watch it.

[01:20:51] [SPEAKER_02]: It.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Wait.

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It might not even be on Max anymore.

[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what.

[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I fucking hate Max.

[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what.

[01:20:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they got rid of all of it.

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh God.

[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_04]: And look.

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And with that.

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_04]: We leave ourselves on the cliffhanger.

[01:21:05] [SPEAKER_04]: What is she going to do.

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Now that her arch nemesis.

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_04]: As.

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Slash brother.

[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Has been found out.

[01:21:10] [SPEAKER_04]: She knows that he.

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Is potentially cheating on his wife.

[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And.

[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_04]: She is in a management program.

[01:21:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Trying to better herself.

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: But also.

[01:21:17] [SPEAKER_04]: She could.

[01:21:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Potentially make herself look better.

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_04]: By making him look worse.

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And so.

[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_04]: We have to tune in next week.

[01:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: For the remainder of the.

[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_04]: How to die alone.

[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Recap that we're doing.

[01:21:26] [SPEAKER_04]: The two-parter here.

[01:21:28] [SPEAKER_04]: When we come back next week.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt.

[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_04]: You coming to join us?

[01:21:30] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll be here.

[01:21:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll be here.

[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_04]: How could I not?

[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.

[01:21:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[01:21:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Was this your first time?

[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Chappelle.

[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_05]: It was my first time.

[01:21:47] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean I've asked.

[01:21:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Several times.

[01:21:48] [SPEAKER_05]: It feels.

[01:21:49] [SPEAKER_05]: It feels so good to you.

[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_05]: It feels so good.

[01:21:51] [SPEAKER_05]: So good.

[01:21:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Welcome.

[01:21:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Just happy to be here.

[01:21:54] [SPEAKER_05]: And you know what?

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like.

[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_05]: What an honor.

[01:21:56] [SPEAKER_05]: What an honor and a privilege.

[01:21:57] [SPEAKER_05]: That I get a two-parter.

[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_05]: On Recap Kickback.

[01:22:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Look at that.

[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:22:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[01:22:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Look at that.

[01:22:04] [SPEAKER_04]: And Matt.

[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Tell everybody where they can find you.

[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_04]: In the meantime.

[01:22:08] [SPEAKER_05]: So the people could find me.

[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_05]: And my address is.

[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:22:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Drop the social first.

[01:22:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:22:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's do whatever.

[01:22:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Whatever's most useful.

[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Well for now.

[01:22:19] [SPEAKER_05]: DM me for my social.

[01:22:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Matt Scott GW.

[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_05]: On all of the different platforms.

[01:22:25] [SPEAKER_05]: You could also find me.

[01:22:27] [SPEAKER_05]: With Chappelle and Mari.

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Oddly.

[01:22:29] [SPEAKER_05]: On nothing but Netflix.

[01:22:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Talking about.

[01:22:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Mr.

[01:22:34] [SPEAKER_05]: McMahon.

[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

[01:22:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Of pro wrestling fame.

[01:22:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Check that out.

[01:22:38] [SPEAKER_05]: We had a lot of fun.

[01:22:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Talking about that.

[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll continue talking about that.

[01:22:41] [SPEAKER_05]: The timeline.

[01:22:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Of when everything is coming out.

[01:22:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Is kind of funky.

[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_05]: And confusing.

[01:22:46] [SPEAKER_05]: But we're here.

[01:22:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Just like look for that.

[01:22:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just an excuse.

[01:22:49] [SPEAKER_02]: For the three of us.

[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_02]: To talk repeatedly.

[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Multiple times.

[01:22:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Over the next few weeks.

[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.

[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We shut it up like that.

[01:22:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:22:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:22:58] [SPEAKER_05]: So there's.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_05]: That's where I'm up to.

[01:22:59] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'll also mention.

[01:23:01] [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm still like.

[01:23:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Wait.

[01:23:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Is this public yet?

[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_05]: But.

[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_05]: At RHAP.

[01:23:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Rob's podcast.

[01:23:06] [SPEAKER_05]: We are doing.

[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_05]: A.

[01:23:08] [SPEAKER_05]: An event.

[01:23:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Later.

[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_05]: This month.

[01:23:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Of October.

[01:23:11] [SPEAKER_05]: In Philadelphia.

[01:23:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Around.

[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_05]: The 10th anniversary.

[01:23:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Of Survivor.

[01:23:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Kage Aeon.

[01:23:16] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:23:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I've been working with.

[01:23:18] [SPEAKER_05]: A couple of amazing folks.

[01:23:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Dr. Amanda Rabinowitz.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Lindsay Wilson.

[01:23:21] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm producing.

[01:23:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Like this.

[01:23:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Beautiful.

[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Documentary.

[01:23:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Type of thing.

[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Like nothing RHAP.

[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Has ever done before.

[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a lot like.

[01:23:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I love the.

[01:23:30] [SPEAKER_05]: 80s.

[01:23:31] [SPEAKER_05]: I love the 90s.

[01:23:32] [SPEAKER_05]: So that'll be coming out.

[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_05]: In.

[01:23:35] [SPEAKER_05]: At the end of October.

[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_05]: But in Philly.

[01:23:37] [SPEAKER_05]: We're having a premiere event.

[01:23:38] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:23:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Reach out to me.

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Matt.

[01:23:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Scott GW.

[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_05]: For more.

[01:23:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Check out RHAP.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Social.

[01:23:43] [SPEAKER_05]: For like.

[01:23:44] [SPEAKER_05]: The RSVP link.

[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_05]: And.

[01:23:46] [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I'm up to.

[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah.

[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Just like.

[01:23:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Mixing it up.

[01:23:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Doing all sorts of stuff.

[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_05]: That I haven't been doing otherwise.

[01:23:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You just reminded me.

[01:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to sign that release form.

[01:23:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Mari.

[01:23:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You know I'm in the Kageyan project.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah.

[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_04]: Good for you.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:23:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a talking head.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: You know.

[01:24:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been dying.

[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_04]: He's a talking head.

[01:24:02] [SPEAKER_05]: He's a talking head.

[01:24:03] [SPEAKER_05]: How could you not have Chappelle.

[01:24:05] [SPEAKER_05]: In.

[01:24:06] [SPEAKER_05]: I stand Kageyan.

[01:24:08] [SPEAKER_05]: So.

[01:24:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.

[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Matt.

[01:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you so much.

[01:24:11] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see you of course next week.

[01:24:13] [SPEAKER_04]: And Mari.

[01:24:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You got your silk jumpsuit on.

[01:24:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Tell everybody where they're going to find you.

[01:24:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You can find me at.

[01:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Mari talks too much on Twitter.

[01:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: That's too like the number two.

[01:24:25] [SPEAKER_02]: You can find me on nothing but Netflix this week.

[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You can also find me on Crime Scene with Sarah Carradine.

[01:24:30] [SPEAKER_02]: By going to RobHouseWebsite.com slash crime feed.

[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Where we are talking about.

[01:24:37] [SPEAKER_02]: What are we talking about this week?

[01:24:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Do.

[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Do.

[01:24:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Not that.

[01:24:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I always forget.

[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a thing.

[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I always forget because we record multiple things.

[01:24:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But.

[01:24:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_02]: We talk like.

[01:24:51] [SPEAKER_02]: This panel's coming back baby.

[01:24:53] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be joining you on Crime Scene.

[01:24:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:24:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.

[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Talking about.

[01:24:58] [SPEAKER_05]: So dang.

[01:24:59] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll find out.

[01:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll find out.

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[01:25:02] [SPEAKER_02]: We're still.

[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We're still trying to pick something out for you guys.

[01:25:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But.

[01:25:07] [SPEAKER_02]: We watched.

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.

[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: See I had it.

[01:25:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And then you talked again.

[01:25:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I forgot it.

[01:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Again.

[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.

[01:25:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Well it's going to be with SDB.

[01:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: SDB is back.

[01:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Is back with us.

[01:25:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
