[00:00:45] Hey, what's up fam? And welcome back again to Recap Kickback presents The Drop, A Snowfall Saga. That's right, it's me, Chappell, your host, back again to talk to you about another episode of the Snowfall spinoff, The Drop, episode 4, also called The Big Push. And with me to talk about this episode and the movement back to the hood, it is Mari Forth. Mari, welcome back.

[00:01:09] Yeah, back to the hood. We're back. This show is so good. I will say this is probably like the calmest episode? Question mark? Nobody got shot. Well, that's the bar. So yeah, I'm so glad to be back talking about this show. Like this is, it's just a treat. Like this is just prestige television that we get to talk about every week.

[00:01:37] It really is. And I don't think Snowfall ever really got the claim that it deserved. I think some of those seasons of Snowfall were really, really good. I definitely could see why some seasons were kind of like, eh, not as good. But for the most part, you would expect a show that is as good as Snowfall to have a ton of awards and, you know, to be ranked amongst the best shows.

[00:01:59] And I don't even know if Snowfall got one Emmy nomination during its entire six season run. And so, which is disgusting because it's so good. It's so good. There's so many good moments. And even if you can't find the show to be an Emmy nominated show, some of the acting was so good. And so, yeah, to not even get a nod, it is a little frustrating to me personally, you know, interview with the vampire, another show that we talked about on here.

[00:02:27] Also, Emmy's not to be found, you know, but you don't have to have an Emmy to have a great show. You know, The Wire famously only had what, two Emmys and it's still being ranked amongst the best shows of all time. And those two Emmys were not in like the acting or anything like that, which is still crazy. So although the people might not see the value in Snowfall, I really hope they do because I think that even four episodes in, the acting has been great. The story has been great. And I'm really on the edge of my seat.

[00:02:56] Yeah, I completely agree. I also wonder, like not pushing back on the creators or anything like that, but I do wonder, like, did they campaign for award season? You know what I'm saying? Because you know. Yeah, you've got to put your name out there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. And then they're on FX. Does FX, do they have other shows that are like nominated for stuff? Like, the Suns of Anarchy. Didn't American Horror Story, did American Horror Story used to get Emmy nominations?

[00:03:26] I know the 13th season is back. I'm about to check that out. Yeah, they've had 17 noms, I believe. And I thought about checking out the new season as well. Just because I like the coven stuff. But yeah, 17 noms, that's a lot. Yeah, that's what, Ryan Murphy, you know. Also, yeah. Also. You know, yeah, I won't get on here and talk too much trash about Ryan Murphy

[00:03:54] because I have time, honestly. So there's plenty of weeks where I can do that. But yeah, I'm just hoping that, like you said, maybe they'll campaign, maybe they'll put their names out there because I think that we're on track for a really good spinoff to an already great franchise. Yeah, I agree. I agree. We don't need recognition for those institutions. However, it would be nice. It would be nice. Wouldn't hurt. So, Mari, before we get started, you still selling cups?

[00:04:25] Yes, I am. Do I have any cups near me? I have some heated rivalry ones. I currently myself am finishing up the Rachel Reads heated rivalry series. I'm on book five right now. But if you didn't know, I sell cups. It started off as me selling heated rivalry cups. I posted heated rivalry cups on social media. People said, you should sell those. And I was like, all right, bet. And so since then, I've been selling all sorts of book-themed tumblers,

[00:04:55] also show-themed tumblers. You know, of course, we got Team Black is still in the house from our House of Drive-In set. I still have Lestat stuff available. Lestat and Louie cups available. Speaking of Interview with the Vampire. And right now, professional and collegiate football teams are available, you know. But you can go to maricraftstomuch.bigcartel.com for our listeners who are not seeing our pretty faces

[00:05:22] and seeing my nice little website at the bottom. Again, that's maricraftstomuch.bigcartel.com to get your Tumblr. And again, it's perfect for the holiday seasons. I can make anything. I can put anything on a cup. I've put people's children, people's pets, people on cups. So just let me know. Yeah. Discount code RECAP for all the listeners here. And just, you know, a little treat for y'all.

[00:05:51] Before we get into Snowfall, of course, we do have other recap kickback content. G and I are finishing up our Why Did I Get Married series, talking about why did I get married again. Spoiler alert. I have a thing to say. So check that out. Also, Latonya Starks has thrown her hat back in the ring. She says she will be trying to come back in recent days to talk about more recap kickback content. So fingers crossed that Latonya will get to show up in the next week or so,

[00:06:20] because that'll be very fun. After the Tyler Perry series is over, G and I will be talking about Abbott Elementary. We've been covering it since season two. So we have an entire playlist right here on our YouTube page where you can go in and catch up on all our Abbott Elementary recaps, if you would like, or you could jump right in on this upcoming season. And then Chantel and I have started an entire rewatch of the Flavor of Love cinematic universe, starting with the Flavor of Love. And now we're up to Rock of Love. All of those episodes are right here on our YouTube page.

[00:06:47] Or if you want to subscribe to the podcast, you can get them audio only recap kickback dot com slash subscribe. And then, of course, the YouTube page, youtube.com slash at recap kickback. Please like the video. Is that what you're doing right now? Yes, please. Yeah. So other people can find the video as well and get into the conversation, because I think we're going to have a really fun conversation today, Mari. Yes, really fun. Really, really cool episode. I think we're getting closer to something that you may have predicted.

[00:07:16] So, yeah, very, very interesting. Well, let's start there. What are you talking about? What do you mean by that? I mean, are Leon and Wanda about to start a record label? Like, it's feeling like it. You know, I can see it. I mean, it was like, at this point, it's kind of like, why are we stalling? It's like, they keep stalling as to, like, why the single wasn't making it to the radio.

[00:07:47] Last week was like, we did it. We got right on the radio station. Everything's going to be good. It's okay. Back to the Hood will be next up. Just for us to open it. And Jenny and was that her? Is that her father? Is that? No. Right. No. No. Her father sent this guy to come handle it today. Yeah. Just pulling, just pulling the thing off the radio. I'm like, come on, y'all. Like, this is, this is bananas now.

[00:08:15] So, you know, and then they have to do their little workaround, which is really funny because I initially thought that this is what that was going to be. You know what I'm saying? Like, selling mixtapes out the trunk is, is, you know, that's. Tell us all the time. Yeah. Right? Yeah. That's, that's the one of the recipes that we can't lose, you know, or I guess they're lost now. It's a lost art because who got a mixtape? Who got, who got a tape player? Who got a CD player? Yeah. And even then I think, yeah, streaming is just taking over so much.

[00:08:44] But yeah, back in the day, sometimes you have to put the foot soldiers on it. And so, yeah, I can definitely see a world where Leon, Wanda, Jenny, who has now been replaced, basically fired. What else is she going to do? You know, we've been, we've kind of laid the foundation for this character that has an affinity for Wanda. Who better than Jenny didn't help them kind of launch it off? So yeah, I, I, I did predict that. And I definitely could see it going that direction at this point. But we have a lot of big storylines to talk about.

[00:09:14] I do want to start with Mama G. It might've been Dunny, but I, I also agree. I suspect Mama G be hidden people. Does she, she, does she beat Big Daddy ass? The way everybody's afraid of her, she has to be. Yeah. Has to be. She beat all the asses. I mean, she slapped Wanda in this episode, but I thought Big Daddy was legit scared for his life. Yeah. Yeah. She's, she's scary.

[00:09:46] And mad about the Lamar situation. Um, but you can tell it's really like, uh, that's like the surface level problem. The deeper problem is that she lost her daughter, Lamar's mom. And we don't really know why, um, they have been breadcrumbing us and breadcrumbing us about this big reveal at the beginning of the episode. We see her looking down into a drawer and pulling out a piece of, it was like a film canister. Um, yeah. And I want to say it said Thanksgiving 1974 on it.

[00:10:15] And so I couldn't make anything out. I was like, what is happening right now? I had to like pause and enhance and enhance and enhance to even get to that point. So, um, and you see, I got my own screenshots here. So, you know, I'd be working on it. Um, but yeah, she starts off there and throughout the episode, it's really, you know, how do we tell Mama G about this? What are we going to do? Who's going to, uh, like, you know, how we get around this big daddy and James are legit putting their heads together. Like, all right, you can tell her, but you know, I don't want to be in it, you know,

[00:10:45] leave that to Wanda and Lamar. I felt again, felt bad for James because of course, um, big daddy says, you know, this, this, uh, this wouldn't even be happening if you didn't, uh, keep Lamar out the streets. It's like, wait a minute, hold on. I have been actively trying to keep this boy out the streets for three episodes. Last episode, you told me to go beat ass in his honor. And now all of a sudden it's my problem. I know I probably would have left by now. Poor James. They don't know. They don't know what they want him to do at this point.

[00:11:14] They, he can play for everything. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And Lamar grown ass man. They even say it. This man is, he can make his own decisions. Uh, James does try to play the song because that's, that's one of my favorite, the drop tropes that we have now is that when somebody mad, just play music. Um, he tries to play the song for mama G. Yeah. Just listen to the music. And she rips the tape apart, you know, unravels it. Yeah. I haven't seen that in a while. That was, yeah.

[00:11:44] I was like, you can't do all that. But she, yeah, she destroyed that thing. And she's like, I should have never let Wanda back into this family. Right. Or did she get that to Wanda's face or did she? I don't know. I think both. Yeah, I'm going to say. She don't care. Mama G's a gangster. Uh, maybe that's what the G stand for. Um, right. So, um, we see Wanda and Lamar, uh, Lamar in the radio station. And it's that scene that you were just talking about.

[00:12:12] They're waiting to get back to the hood on the radio. Uh, Jenny's been pushing it, but the song isn't playing. And so when Wanda goes and confronts this, uh, poor young lady who works at the record store with no idea what's going on. Probably the intern. Right. Exactly. Probably a radio station intern. If nothing, she's making pennies on the dollar. Like no money. This woman is like, I'm just trying not to get fired. Um, she finds out that the record label has actually snatched the song down and Jenny is

[00:12:40] being replaced by Cal, who we kind of talked about earlier in the season where he was really pushing alternative rock, um, and, um, other like rock and roll aspects. They're like, Oh yeah, we're going to leave Cal in charge now. And Jenny, I guess you're just going to be a person with a title with no actual pool. Yeah. Like leave this lady alone. Like, what are we doing here? Like, this is stupid. It was already there.

[00:13:07] Like, I don't understand the, the, the song was already at the radio station. Why did they have to call them to pull it? Like somebody like just hates her. Yeah. I mean, I get it. He's like, Oh, we're not going with rap. Da, da, da, da, da. Like you, you already have everything signed up. It's already set up. Just do it. Just do it. Just do it. Like let it happen and fly. Like you would think they would want to see her flop so that they'd have a reason instead of like, just not even letting it happen.

[00:13:37] I don't know. Corporate America, white men, I guess. I don't know. So DG, uh, is talking to D here and he tells him, um, you know, thank, thank you for being around because your, your job here, we finally get his job description. He basically a bodyguard. He's to make sure that Leon don't come in there and shake him down or that the bloods don't pull up on them either. Um, and so, um, once he talks to D, he ends up talking to Wanda as well.

[00:14:04] And he explains to Wanda that macroscope is trying to basically sell the company and they're not going to be able to find another white company, uh, or record label that's going to want to take them on if they are connected to, uh, jungle music, what DG calls it. And so, um, yeah, um, they signed them to a production deal. That means that the record label owns everything. And to me, it sounds like Wanda hasn't really explained that to Lamar.

[00:14:30] Like does Lamar know that anything that this record label touches is probably no longer his? Probably not. Since that was the first time I heard of it too. I was like, Oh, 360. I mean, I figured, but he's saying it playing his day now. Like, yeah, I don't, I don't think Lamar knows. Um, yeah. And we, you know, we see this, we see this, you know, when artists don't have their masters and stuff like that.

[00:14:58] So it's like, you're making art, you're making art, you're making art, but your label's choosing to shelve it, you know, tale as old as time. Um, this sucks. Like, I don't know what else to say. It sucks. Yeah. Uh, it sounds like they don't own the masters anymore. At least when, uh, like I said, once the record label gets ahold of it, they won't. Um, it sounds like, I mean, I, at first I was like, man, Wanda, did you give up the rights to that man's music? But at the same time Lamar signed that contract, you know?

[00:15:28] So, you know, it might, Wanda might've negotiated the deal or whatever, but, um, you know, Lamar was probably going to sign that contract regardless. You know, every, there's nothing else could have stopped him. Everybody's like, you could die. You could get shot. Why are you going to the blood hive? You know? And he's just like, nope, sign me up. So I don't think I can really blame Wanda too much, but he's going to be pissed when he finds out, um, back to the three 60 deal though, Mari, tell the TSC, uh, the TLC story for all the listeners.

[00:15:55] Um, because maybe the youth aren't familiar with the, you know, one of the biggest cautionary tales in music. Oh my God. How are you just going to put me on the spot like this? Cause I know, you know, Well, basically I definitely go check out, uh, the TLC, uh, made for TV movie with, um, Kiki Palmer, Drew Sedora and little mama as TLC. So good. Anyways. Um, basically TLC signed this deal, right?

[00:16:23] Where they were getting paid a hundred thousand dollars. Right. Um, but it was coming, but they, and they were given, they were given money up front. I think they were given like maybe what they say, like 10,000 or so up front, whatever, just a little bit of cash money up front. Just a little bit. Cause that's how they get you. They always give you a little bit of cash money up front, but then they would, you

[00:16:47] know, studio time tours, merch, all of that stuff would come out of the quote unquote, a hundred thousand dollars that they would be getting paid. So even though they're going on tour, the label is, is giving them wardrobe. The label is providing travel for them. The label is providing this, but they are then taking it out of their money. So at one point TLC where the, the biggest selling girl group of all time, but wasn't

[00:17:16] clearing any money. And we famously get left eye on, uh, I believe she's on a radio station breaking, literally breaking down the money and, and explaining how many points artists get on units and how units are sold. And it is one of those, it was one of those monologues that if I was a drag queen, I would memorize it. Like it's so like iconic.

[00:17:42] And it also culminates with them being like, they, they won, I think it was like two Grammys at least one night. Yeah. And that night they're being, um, they're being asked like, Oh, and that's where they, and that's where they said, well, we're broke. Like so iconic. And that's where we know about the three 60 deal and, and how pebble pebble basically

[00:18:09] signed them to a three 60 deal with, I believe it was death jam or LaFace might've been LaFace. Actually. I'm not really sure. I can't remember. Um, possibly Jeff jam though. Um, but basically they, they got no money. All of their money went back to the, to the studio. They were starving. They were trying to make ends meet and contractually they couldn't do anything about it.

[00:18:35] I think they ended up having to sue pebbles and stuff like that just to get a better, a deal and all this stuff. So TLC is like the number one cautionary tale when we think of music, but then I guess for the younger listeners, a more modern, um, example is Taylor Swift and her. Yes. Yeah. But, uh, yeah. Or if you want to go even further back, you can think about Prince and his bad deal that

[00:19:03] made him not only change his name to the artist formerly known as Prince, but made him put out like five albums to get out of his contract. So, um, shady music business dealings is not anything. It is like par for the course at this time. Um, at this time period in the early nineties, it's the wild, wild west out there. And so unfortunately I'm, I'm pretty sure we said that we saw something like this coming,

[00:19:29] but it really just, it still pisses you off when, when these people are making decisions, they don't even care about the money or the art. They just don't want to be associated with black people and black music. It's just annoying. Yeah. Uh, good job, Maury. Um, even for me putting you on the spot. Yeah. I thought, I thought you were going to do the monologue. I was like, okay. Um, not on the spot. Like I, I have a little bit of it, but I'm like, I can't even, I cannot do it. Next time I'll see you the script. Cause this is going to come back up.

[00:19:59] You know what I'm saying? This is going to come back up. Um, so at sub-Saharan records, uh, which is the place where we see Lamar hanging out the most. Um, Wanda does come up to him and she tries to apologize. Um, he's kind of, he basically still betrayed, right? He's like, Oh my God, you went behind my back and you pushed this other song. I'm sorry. I'm still not team Lamar when it comes to the song thing, get over it. You should have just let the deal go through, handle the deal and then push the song, you

[00:20:27] know, but you, you had to have it your way, the way you wanted it when you wanted it. Uh, and now you probably didn't sign your life away to, uh, being so hasty. And so, uh, this might be a lesson, uh, you know, impatience or something like that. I don't know. Um, but, um, he says that Wanda and him were really close when they were kids and he always just felt like she understood him. And so she ultimately just tells him, you know, yeah, I ran some game, right? I lied, but that's who I am because I had to learn to do that to survive while she was,

[00:20:57] uh, you know, on drugs. And also, I mean, just being in the orbit of Franklin and Leon, I'm sure a lot of those survival instincts kicked in. And so she tells him, uh, I will probably lie to you again, but I won't betray you. Now, if somebody told me that they're going to lie to me again, I don't know how, like, am I just kind of like, I went off the ride now or do you like, all right, well, I could deal with a couple of lies. Right. It's, it's like, it's like in big brother, right?

[00:21:25] You have an ally that might not fully tell you what's going on, but if they have your back and they're watching out for you, it's kind of like, what are you doing? Yeah, we're different. Yeah. Like, are the ends justifying the means? That's, that's pretty much what it all comes down to, right? Does the ends justify the means? And Wanda's trying to make it work. So Wanda has the bright idea to, uh, go and do some street distribution.

[00:21:53] Uh, she's going to start to, um, she's going to need to print some tapes and, um, pass them out, but she needs some capital. And so where does she go? The bank. She goes directly to Leon's house and says, give me money. Give me the money in my hand, put the money in my hand, put the money in my hand. I need the money right now. I need money. I need money. Um, this is crazy. This is crazy. Mari. This woman is using this man and his love for her to get money.

[00:22:22] I mean, he won't do nothing else. He's just sitting there, you know, sad drinking by himself. Like, you know, no, what else are you going to do? Yeah. Like you don't need that money. There's only, he's only started a law clinic and he's trying to save the gang bangers from themselves, but sure. Give the money to Wanda. Yeah. Give the money to Wanda. And when, and then when he wouldn't and she starts walking around the house, I literally

[00:22:51] said, I was like, Oh, this is crackhead behavior. Like, I, I love you girl. But, but. She start red sacking that man's house. Like, where's the money? I know you put it here. I know you put it here. I was like, Wanda, this is not making a good case for you. No. No. No. But, you know, they say you replace one, one addiction with another. Right. And, and that's what it is. It's like the, the crack addiction is gone.

[00:23:22] But Wanda is a, is using this music business as her, her newest addiction. Just trying to get this off, trying to be ahead of the curve. It's her new addiction. And it's, you know, I mean, it's better. It's better addiction. Yeah. I guess. I mean, not if you have to, not if you are actively stealing money from somebody in they face. Cause it's like, she know Leon not going to press charges. He not going to fight her. So she's like, give me. And then she's going to leave. It's like having a younger sibling who's take something from you.

[00:23:52] It's like, so I'm, I'm stealing your shirt. You're like, all right. Like what can I do? And I live that life. Cause my younger sibling steals my clothes all the time. So yeah, this stuff, but big shout out to Gail Bean, because I do think that the acting here is crazy, right? Like she tapped into that same energy that she had during snowfall, but this time it wasn't, like you said, it wasn't related to drugs, but it still felt like it was, you

[00:24:19] know, if, if you told me that she was looking for money because she was about to go and buy drugs, I would have believed that scene as well. Yeah. Yeah. It literally was that right. And they just let that scene kind of breathe too. It's like, you looking at her open all these drawers and stuff and you're looking at Leon, look at her, like he was getting flashbacks. I was like, Oh no. Wanda. Somebody in the comments said they can't wait to watch me.

[00:24:49] Did you see is like, I think it's like a few weeks ago. Somebody was like, they can't wait to watch me defend Wanda. She like, she backed. I sure am. Yeah. Somebody look, you support women's rights and wrongs. Okay. Rights and wrongs. Yep. I'm glad y'all know. I love it. I love it. I love it. This is why it's fun to talk about. And Leon in the scene is so good too.

[00:25:18] When he's sitting around smoking and listening to Harold Melvin in the blue notes and drinking, I said, honestly, Lee, same. I've been there, done that. But he's also reminiscing. He's going through the drawers. He's looking at old photos. We're seeing a lot of the people we remember from Snowfall. We're seeing some obituaries because we know we lost a lot of people in Snowfall as well.

[00:25:38] And it seems like grief is a recurring theme throughout this episode because we finally find out what the big issue, like the big fight is between the two of them. Um, they had a miscarriage or lost a baby in some shape, form or fashion. And Wanda does not want to talk about it. And I guess Leon is like, we need to talk about it. Yeah, that was, that was sad. I was. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:26:08] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We, we, we famously talked about the changeling on here where we grappled with a whole season of, of talking about postpartum loss and, and all of that. And yeah, at first I was like, okay, it did sound like a miscarriage. But then as they talked about a little bit more, I was like, Ooh, sounds like it could have been like, like maybe a Sid situation where they lost the child young. Um, it was just so sad because right.

[00:26:38] Cause Ron is like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And it even further makes me like, kind of appreciate her for, again, not actually backsliding to crack. You know what I'm saying? Like it's so easy that when you have such a personal loss to, to slide to your addictions or even start a new addiction.

[00:27:03] We know, we know a lot of parents that lose kids, uh, can turn to alcohol and stuff like that. You know what I'm saying? So like, you know, so the fact that she is still sitting here clean after we find out that she suffered a loss. Yeah. I know it doesn't look good because it looks like she's transferring all that energy and trying to really make this music thing pop off. And maybe Leon's afraid that like, if it doesn't pop off, maybe she will backslide. Oh yeah.

[00:27:30] But I, you know, I will, until, until she puts a pipe to her mouth, I'm going to commend her for sticking to it for as long as possible. Yeah. Um, it was, the scene is very like, very like intense. Like you said, they really let it breathe, but I definitely, I definitely laughed because when Wanda says, Lee, give me the money. And he's like, I'm not going to give you, she's like, see, this is why we broke up because he won't give you the money.

[00:28:00] She's like, that's why we can't be together. Cause you won't just give me money. And he's like, no, we can't be together. Cause you won't talk to me about this loss that we both suffered. And now you're acting a little weird. Um, and so eventually he does give her the money. Um, and you know, it, again, she's happily accepted, but it doesn't look like they're going to go anywhere. They're relationship wise, but you can just tell he really struggles with telling her. No, it's like, he, he loves her dirty draws. Yeah.

[00:28:30] I don't know how it's true. He, I truly, he, and again, I think he, he wants to say no, but again, he's worried that if this does fall apart, then she'll go back to it. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, I love Leon. Oh my God. Ugh. Yeah. These two are, these two are perfect. I'm so glad they got the spinoff. Um, okay.

[00:28:56] So Wanda takes the money, uh, to Lamar and they start printing tapes and she gets to work with the skills that she learned watching Leon and Franklin. Um, she's really talking about like, this is really reminiscent of Franklin, right? It sounds like we're not even talking about, uh, music anymore. It sounds like we're talking about wait, you know, she's like, okay, I got product coming in. It's just a way that the vibe kind of changed. Uh, she's like, y'all are the runners. Y'all going to take it over here. I said, oh, okay.

[00:29:24] Now we're seeing some of that original snowfall DNA in this, in this, uh, episode. And that is a very helpful map. I would love to see like a map like this. That seems to be like the gang affiliation map. Oh, I didn't even realize it. So they are being very strategic about how they move the product and where they move the product, AKA the tapes, the back to the hood tapes. So yeah, this was, this was funny.

[00:29:54] This was very snowball. Uh, and we get like the montage of them going from stop to stop. They go by the record store and tell them just pass out the tapes. Uh, if someone wants to buy it, sure. Play it over the, play the music over the speaker, but just give them out for free. Um, because we know that if the product is good, then people will come around on the re-up. Uh, and you know, you'll make more money that way. I mean, you can see that that's a tell his oldest time as well. Um, you could, if you've ever seen the wire, they come out there with their little vials. Here's yellow cap today. Have fun.

[00:30:24] And then the next day, everybody comes flocking. Lust auf frische Vielfalt zu kleinen Preisen? Dann ab zu Rewe! Helle, kernlose Tafeltrauben. Frisch und aromatisch. Klasse 1. Je 500 Gramm Schale für nur einen Euro. Oder frische Lauchzwiebeln. Je bunt für nur 59 Cent. Und mit Rewe Bonus sammelst du zusätzlich 10 Cent Bonus Guthaben. Frische Vielfalt, kleine Preise. Rewe. Dein Markt.

[00:30:51] Um, so tried and true methods here that Wanda is employing here, but it's working. They, uh, sell out at the record store. And then Lamar ends up going to the Crip Barbershop and having to drop J Loco's name so that he can pass out his stuff there. Uh, because they're really trying to corner the market of all the gangs, all the people in the hood. Uh, we saw Dara go and have a little blood conversation here with, uh, this man who wants to splat out on her Taddao.

[00:31:19] Lust auf frische Vielfalt zu kleinen Preisen? Dann ab zu Rewe. Helle, kernlose Tafeltrauben. Frisch und aromatisch. Klasse 1. Je 500 Gramm Schale für nur einen Euro. Oder frische Lauchzwiebeln. Je bunt für nur 59 Cent. Und mit Rewe Bonus sammelst du zusätzlich 10 Cent Bonus Guthaben. Frische Vielfalt, kleine Preise. Rewe. Dein Markt. Yes. Yes. Yes.

[00:31:48] I was like, oh my God. This man is so close to her. She's like, oh my God. Talking about all the things he wants to do to her. I was like, I had so much respect for Dara here. She was just like, fool, get out of my face. Here are the boxes. Uh-huh. But this is where, this is where we get that little reveal though, Mari. Because homeboy steps in and he's like, hold on. She trying to talk to Leon. And I thought, really? Since when?

[00:32:19] I really was like, I think, I heard it. I digested it. And my body rejected it. Yeah. You said, that's not what he meant. I was like, oh, they're just dropping Leon's name so that they can maneuver this situation. You know what I'm saying? Like, get out of this situation. That is not what happened. That is not what happened. That's not what happened.

[00:32:47] So yeah, over 250 copies sold out in four days at the record store. It seems like they're bringing in money, like hand over fist at this point. And so Wanda has to go talk to Mama G because she has been summoned. And to me, this is one of the blackest scenes of television I've seen in a very long time. Because she goes to talk to Mama G. And Mama G stayed her rude ass on the phone the entire time.

[00:33:16] She doesn't even really turn around. Now, you summoned me, but you going to talk on the phone about me in front of me? Rude. Black parents. The black parents don't care. They don't care. They don't care. They were just doing shit in the 90s. They didn't care. We just courted. Just courted phone. Yeah. Just pretending she don't even exist while talking about her existence.

[00:33:44] Just Wanda was like, oh my God, girl. Come on. Yeah. When she said, I'm sorry, you know, I admit I was wrong. She's like, yeah, she copping a plea. She on the phone. Of course she is, girl. Of course she's copping a plea. That's exactly what she's doing. And I told her to her face that I shouldn't even let you back in this family. Like, I said, oh my God, lady, come on now. Where is any of this smoke for Lamar? Exactly. Exactly.

[00:34:13] A man. He's 19, you know. At least when. Yeah. Yeah. Mama G is. She better have something to say when we, when we hear, you know, when next week comes around. Because this is, it just, all this seems like, I don't know, like what's happening? We, we, we've been speculating what we think happened with the mom and all of that. But it's just like, girl, you're going a little too hard on, on this. It feels like. Oh yeah, for sure.

[00:34:42] Everybody in the house is shook, scared of her. And Wanda does bring it up. She's like, oh, you, it seems like you just scared to tell Lamar what happened to his mama. So this causes Mama G to stand up and do what I thought she had been doing this entire time, which is whoops, mass. She went over there and hit the Linda McMahon slap. You know, like the, I'm going to slap you and I'm going to regret it immediately after. Like, oh my God, what have I done? Said, Mama G, stop playing. Perfect. Yeah. Perfect analogy there. Yes. Very that.

[00:35:11] Like you, you used to this lady. Don't, don't try and cry now. Exactly. Black parents. So black parents. I mean, look, the nineties, I was just doing stuff. I still, I stand by, they were just trying to figure it out. There was too much going on. The world was chaotic and they were just, they were just trying to make it. But this is out the playbook for sure. So Wanda goes at this point to the stew and she invites Leon in and they talk about how ugly it got with Mama G.

[00:35:41] They both apologized for their fight the other night. And it's clear that, you know, they still are going to avoid the conversation about losing their daughter. Leon has been working with big daddy in order to influence the YNs in the neighborhood, do a little gang intervention, but it doesn't seem like it's working. Leon says, I can't connect to these kids. I'm not, I don't speak their language. And so Wanda says, you know what, you know, what does speak their language? Music. Music. Music. Music.

[00:36:11] Why don't we do it in song, Leon? I was like, oh, here we go. This show is really close to being a glee. You know, it's like so close to them just all breaking out into song and dance. I was just about to say that. It is like a musical when the emotion is too much. You must dance. You must sing. You must sing. It's overwhelming. You must dance. Yeah. Yeah. So Leon's in. Of course. He's like, all right, Wanda, if you say so, because it's Wanda.

[00:36:40] And again, he going to do whatever she wants her to do. Because her thought is that Leon's money will allow them to invest in the music, which will unite the neighborhoods. Right. We saw how it made the Bloods Act that one time. And so I was like, okay, we can do that. We got Bloods listening to the music. We got Crips listening to Blood music. That's going to help with the gang violence in some way. And so Leon's like, all right, whatever. Like you said, nothing. Yeah.

[00:37:08] Like we said, Back to the Hood seems to be uniting the hood. Well, if Ryda had made it on the airwaves and the radio, it might have really got everybody to shoot. And so maybe this might have been fortuitous. Maybe. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean, the song is out there for sure. And it does seem like everybody's enjoying it. Right. Like he didn't make just like a banger for the Crips. You know, it just like everybody's enjoying the song.

[00:37:38] So I think you're right about that. They end up making a bunch of money because Leon uses wholesale connections. They're out there hustling out the back of the trunks of the cars. I'm a Houstonian. I've seen this my whole life. This is just how music is. This is what they did. You know, you just give out tapes. You sell tapes out the back of trunks. They make a ton of money.

[00:38:03] And then, of course, DG shows up because he found out at the meeting with the executives and Jenny that Wanda's out selling the music in the street like Mexican popcorn. His words, not mine. But how did they find out? How did the white people in the meeting find out before DG found out? That didn't make no sense to me. That's a really good point because it's like, I'm sure Jenny didn't know.

[00:38:31] And the white people do not seem like they're tapped in. Right. And they don't seem like they're that tapped into what's going on. Maybe DG is the mole. Maybe he told on her. Could be. Yeah. I hadn't even thought about that. But you're right. Like, why do y'all know? Why y'all in our business? Why y'all in our business? So DG talks about how, you know, he ends up spending money to get dirt on Cal. So that was what he was doing in the background.

[00:38:59] He knows that Cal is supposed to be Jenny's replacement. And so he's going to invest in just kind of, I guess, getting him up out of there. But in the meantime, Wanda's out here selling the music, which we know is probably against the rules of their deal. And so Leon says, just give them back the money. Because this music belongs to DG. Okay. So per the contract. Kind of like it belongs to Pebbles. Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Okay.

[00:39:28] That's what I'm saying. So is it the record like Wanda or is DG mad about this? You know what I'm saying? Like. Mm-hmm. Good point. Right. Yeah. So. I hate DG. DG's a bitch. He sucks. Yeah, he sucks. This guy, he sucks. Oh, brother. This guy stinks. Okay. So Leon is the one who decides to give them the money.

[00:39:57] And of course, DG is like, this is chump change. Spend it on my bitch. So the distribution thing is still a win because they did get some money, but they definitely got the word out in the streets. Lamar and the crew have to go celebrate this win. But he first needs to go home and get James. And to me, this is just the comedy that is Lamar. Lamar, he's in there trying to beg James to come out and, you know, celebrate this big win, party with them.

[00:40:26] And at the, what was it? At last King strip club. But while he's doing this. Yeah. While he's doing this. You can hear mama G and big daddy in the background fighting the entire time. So Lamar's like, why don't you come party with us? And you hear them in the background, like, I can't believe you. And you let her back in my house. And there's this funny TikTok reel. At least I think it's funny where it'll show like a little kid playing the Nintendo Wii back in like 2007.

[00:40:56] And then his parents are at the table trying to figure out how to save the house because they don't have any money. But the whole time the kids over there, like playing the Michael Jackson experience, like not a care in the world. To me, that's Lamar. He has not a care in the world. And the family is falling apart. Yeah. And he's like, yeah, let's go. Let's go. Let's go hang out. And James is like, talk. Like, again, it's that unawareness, right? Like he busted on artillery.

[00:41:26] Artillery, you got to wrap over this. Artillery is like, do not see I am running for my life. Is that that same thing? It's that tunnel focus, that tunnel vision where he's just like, yeah, we did it. We accomplished what we wanted to this week. Now let's go celebrate. Oh, Mama G's pissed off that I'm doing this. I don't care. Bye. Like, what's happening? Yeah. That lady just slapped Wanda. She got Big Daddy in there, basically scared for his life.

[00:41:54] But yet again, Lamar's just like, so strip club? And James does not give in. And so he ends up kind of going to slow the argument down by playing a song. And this song turns out that is their mom's song. And so it does get Mama G and Big Daddy to kind of chill a little bit. And this is very reminiscent of what we just saw with Leon and Wanda.

[00:42:24] I find the parallels crazy because Leon and Wanda were standing in front of a mirror just like this. You know, look, man, basically we got this very similar shot where they were talking about losing their daughter. Right. And so I don't know who directed this episode, but I just thought it was so cool to kind of have the side by side. Right. Oh, wow. Yeah. Yeah. I said, oh, OK. I see what you're doing. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:42:51] I really like that scene just based off of that alone. But also it does seem like Mama G might be starting to chill a little bit, at least on Big Daddy. At least a little bit. Just a little bit. Everybody's asses. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

[00:43:09] Um, so Lamar, Wanda, Leon, and Andy pull up at the last Kings strip club and we get what I thought was the coolest moment of the entire episode. They come in and you have Back to Life by Soul to Soul playing. And it's like the slow motion entrance into the club. And it's the same scene from Belly.

[00:43:35] The opening scene to Belly does this exact same thing. When I saw it, my mouth fell open. Because I said, wait a minute. Is Hype Williams involved in this? I don't think he is. But to me, there's no way they weren't paying homage to Hype Williams. Because, again, it's exactly what happened. And Belly is Nas walking in, but it's the same exact song this time around. It's DMX. Was he in that scene too? I think he was in that scene too. DMX and Nas.

[00:44:05] And in this scene, we get, um, yeah, we get, uh, James and Lamar and them walking in. But it's that same song. You know that? I didn't notice. Yeah. However they eat it. I didn't, I didn't realize it without the blue light. But yes. Yeah. And the blue light's what makes the belly scene iconic. Yeah. However they eat it. Yeah. Look at this blue. I mean, there was a little bit there. I didn't. I did not even pick up on that. That's so funny.

[00:44:34] I mean, that song triggers that scene in my head. And so when it was happening, I said, man, it's just like belly. And I watched the two more seconds of that. Oh, this is just like a belly on purpose. You know, like I could see the, the overlap there. I thought this was so cool. And of course we see Lamar in the strip club. We don't know if this is his first time at a strip club, but he definitely looks like it. Yeah. Then one point he says, I don't know. He said, I don't know how to do this too.

[00:45:03] She's like, I'm on duty. Which really means she's on duty. Um, Mara, you ever been to the booty club? Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know you'd be at the drag shows. Yeah. Um, Stingham's very famous here in DC. I, I have a very sad story about going to a strip club in Myrtle beach on a Monday.

[00:45:27] Um, when I tell you, well, it was, we were there for spring break and we were like, Oh, you know, a bunch of us. Gigi was with me too. She's always with me. Um, and, and James and my friends. And so we, we were like, Oh, well, let's go to the strip club. We didn't care. It was spring break for us. So we didn't even think like, Oh yeah, it's the middle of the week. We go there. It's clearly not the 18.

[00:45:56] Uh, happening. And we, it was, it was a lot of white girls. It was not a, it was not a black establishment. We find at least one girl that looks slightly biracial, I would say. Okay. And she was actually, yes. And she's actually doing very autumn night. She's actually giving us a little something, something, but not one too.

[00:46:25] Yeah. Not the Mercedes. So she gave us a little one too. So we started throwing money and I kid you not, she stopped in the middle of her set and she's like, are you guys making fun of me? And we were like, no, we're at a strip. You're stripping. We're at a strip club. We're when I tell you, she's like, are you sure? We were just like, she, she, she took her money and just left. And we were like, insecure stripper. That's crazy.

[00:46:57] Yeah. Okay. Cause I thought you had to have some type of confidence to get up on that stage. Like that. It was literally what we said. We were like, oh, she didn't believe in herself. And we were the same age as Lamar, 19 going on 20. And it was just like, yeah, no, I have not. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I've not been in a really, really good booty club.

[00:47:27] Like you, I, like I said, I went to the big, like me. I, I, I know the why. Never. Booty club like me? What? Who said that? What are you talking about? I was just, you know, right? No, I didn't got put, I didn't got put out some really nice establishments. That's neither here nor there. I did like seeing Lamar there kind of, cause it did take me back to maybe my first for,

[00:47:56] for, yeah, into the, for Ray into the, you know, the, the club. Cause the first time you kind of like, I don't really know what's going on here, but I know they trying to get my money. And then, and then if you're 19, you probably don't really have enough money to really be in the strip club. Like, so you're probably trying to ration. I definitely was a rationer. Like, all right, I got a hundred dollars. That's it. Like, so that's it. And I'm not actually trying to spend all of it. You know what I'm saying? Like if I could just get away, we're just kind of like,

[00:48:26] keep them on my money. I definitely would. No, not flashing it and taking it back. Yeah. Just rub it on their skin a little bit. They just try to hope that they don't be like, you know, but again, 19 year old Chappelle, that was different. That was different. Yeah. Different. So yeah, I enjoyed, of course, you know, me and you love a strip, a strip club, a TV show, beauty in black P Valley coming soon. Of course. Yeah. You know, so we ain't gonna talk about nothing. We're gonna talk about the strippers. We're talking about P Valley. Yeah.

[00:48:56] And this was very reminiscent. This is the first thing I thought of too. I was like, they got the strippers to play the music. Like, this is so P Valley coded. Mm-hmm. And Wanda, it was, of course, Wanda's idea. You know, she's talking to Leon. They're flirting. And they're even about to kiss. Like, you could tell. Like, they're about to kiss. I thought they kissed. I thought they got mom. I was right there. Yeah. And then the DJ from the radio walks in.

[00:49:25] And so Wanda, of course, like, okay, this is my chance. Let me go get him to play the song on the radio. He's like, I'm not at work right now. Leave me alone. So she, of course, tries something new. And so she decides to go into the stripper locker room and see if she can get one of the dancers to play this song. But before that, as we see Leon and Wanda cuddled up, we see Dara in the back with a stripper

[00:49:57] mugging with a stripper all on top of her. And I was like, that checks out. I was like, that checks out. And when Wanda goes into the back, Dara's there. She's partaking. Yes. And she's like, what do you want, Wanda? I know you don't want none of this. You bet not want none of this. So what is it? She said, you want to fight? Yes. And the drugs that they were also. Yeah.

[00:50:27] And she was like, y'all get to pick y'all on music, right? Like, Wanda always. So good. So good. She's good. She's good. But of course, her walking into that room with those drugs is just another indicator that Wanda, this is dangerous for you. You know, if you are truly an addict, the backslide. Yeah. You cannot put yourself in a situation like this. Yeah. Me neither. I feel like we can duck and dodge this for a long time, but she really does need to start

[00:50:56] separating herself from some of this stuff. Like, you cannot be. Yeah. I'm going to say something really cutting about strippers right quick. And if you're a stripper and listening to this, I'm so sorry. But you cannot be in a stripper locker room and not expect to see drugs. I said it. You. Hey, I'm not saying all strippers do drugs, but their drugs be coming in and out of there. You got to know where you at. You got to know your environment. Why would you say something so controversial and so brave? Look. And so cutting.

[00:51:27] So, yeah, we get the song play. The club is going wild. Everybody's feeling it. And it does look like this. It might be the hit that they think it is. So I was very excited for them. They kind of got like a hood classic on their hands. When I was growing up, these are my favorite types of songs. I like songs that are so local. They are so specific to a specific town or place at a specific time.

[00:51:55] I love that so much. I want to know the song that you have. If you didn't live here between 92 and 2011, then you don't know this song. You have no clue what this song is. You've never heard it. But if you hear it here, everybody here knows it. It's the number one song. I love that kind of stuff. Even the big songs, like the really like city centric songs where the moment you hear it, you know, the city probably goes up for that song. Do you remember when we were at Isaiah's wedding and Dreams and Nightmares came on?

[00:52:25] And it was just like a Philly block party popped off in the middle of the wedding reception. That's the type of energy I'm looking for, right? Most city dawn playing in Houston. Like I just need that fix. My husband will not say a single word all night. Then Dreams and Nightmares comes on. He sings every single word of that. Because that's just a Jersey, Philly, Delaware type of thing. I love it. Those are my favorite types of songs.

[00:52:55] Oh, my God. Inject them into my veins. I love to feel like a local. I love to be like, I'm here too. I know this song. Because when they went up for Dreams and Nightmares, I got in the mix. You know, I was having a hard day that day. But I got up for that. Kind of like when I was sending you the go-go music one time. Yeah. And I, of course, made a playlist about it because I don't, I need to know. I need to know. So. I'd be forgetting that people don't know those songs.

[00:53:24] Like I, I'd be like, what do you mean you don't know Sexy Lady? What? Yeah. But they don't. Yeah. Yeah. I love it. I love it. I want to hear all your local songs. Put them in the comments. Let me know the, like the local hits for your neighborhood. I would love to make a playlist off of that. So everything goes well. After the club, Andy says he's in love. He thinks he met his wife. Been there, done that.

[00:53:50] If you leave the strip club and have not at least been a little coerced into thinking that you're in a relationship with somebody and you about to save them from the strip club and help them pay through for themselves to get through college, you really didn't have the stripper club experience that I've had in my past. But Andy, apparently he lived that life. And so good for him. He's definitely wrong. He did not meet the love of his life in the strip club. It's really hard to do. But Wanda and Leon reconnect again. And again, it looks like Leon's about to, all right, let's finish where we left off.

[00:54:20] But before it happens, Wanda says, I think we should just be friends. And my mouth fell open. Like, Wanda, what else do you want from this man? I was like, girl, what? What? I could not, I could not back this. I could not back this. I was like, Wanda, this man would literally bend over backwards for you. Die for you. Kill for you. Kill for you. Kill for you.

[00:54:50] He would definitely kill for you. Like, without a second thought. What are we doing? What are we doing? King. Look. Now we know what we're doing. Yeah. King. Leon. Pick up. Hold your head up. You dropped your crown. If she don't like it. Is that coochie sweater too? Yeah. Oh, yeah. That coochie sweater will get worn the next morning by someone else. Because. I was holding. Look. One of my Facebook friends.

[00:55:19] Matter of fact, you know her. Kiki. From the wrestling podcast. Podcast. Kiki. Yeah. Put on Facebook. I would have done exactly what Dara did. And I hadn't even seen the episode yet. So I was like, what did she do? That woman pulled up. Willie Hutch needle drop in the background. I choose you playing the original. And she marched right up to Wanda and said, okay, is this your man or not?

[00:55:51] Mari. Look. She walked up to them and was like, excuse me. Because I'm looking for a thug. There you go. She folded. She said. She said. You're the type of man that make me be the type of woman. What? Any type of woman that you would want. And I mean, any type. I was like. I know some of those words. What?

[00:56:21] What? I was like. And then look at Wanda here. All getting all close. Right. Move. Like. What are we doing here? Like. Fold it. Like now I would have been Leon folding. Oh yeah. Leon said. Well, I mean. We put it like. If you put it like that. You know. What else is he supposed to say? I did like the eye roll that he got from Wanda as she walked away. And I thought. Oh.

[00:56:50] I can't wait to see where this leads. I didn't realize we were going to cut to the very next scene. And Dara is in the Coogee sweater. That was such a good shot too. Yeah. It was such a good shot. Of like hearing. Back to the hood on the radio. Leon sitting in the car. Listening to it. And all we see is clearly a woman walking towards the car in his sweater. And naturally. I assumed.

[00:57:19] That Wanda doubled down. Like got her man back. And when Dara dipped her head down there. I was like. Can't be mad. You can't. You can't. There you go. King. Yeah. See this is. This is my Lauren's hive moment. Okay. King. You do what's best for you. This is not Lauren's hive. We are here. We are fine. This is not Lauren's hive. Put your blue t-shirts in the chat. This is not Lauren's hive. Put your blue t-shirts in the comments. We back baby. We up.

[00:57:48] The Dara monologue is crazy. She says. Is he your man or not? I need a fucking gangster in my life. And I want you. Y'all may be afraid to choose. But I'm not. I'm putting my bid in. And if you have to. Nigga. I think you are. I'll be every kind of woman that you want me to be. Every kind. And that's all I wanted to say. And she just walks away. Godly. Hey. Another monologue I gotta learn. For your drag show. We lacing you up. I think the kids say.

[00:58:16] And that's how you clear a bitch. Isn't that what the children say? Yeah. Period. Yeah. Yeah. So. She. We. I just didn't expect for it to escalate so quickly. I really thought this was going to be like a long. Will they. Won't they. Kind of a flirtation. But. Nah. We got right to business. And so. I would love to know. How things are. How you think things are going to go. When. Maybe Wanda. Isn't the person who. Leon would.

[00:58:46] Do anything for. Kill for. Even. Maybe that person becomes Dara. And Wanda shows up saying. Give me money. And. Yeah. Leon's new girl is like. Why are you at my man's house at midnight? You know. And. If that happens. It's what Wanda deserves. What you asked for. Hey. Friends. Friends don't let friends get thousands of dollars. No.

[00:59:16] Not. Not pulling up at the house at midnight. Demanding money. Because she. She showed up at midnight. Make no mistake. Yeah. He's like. What. What are you doing here? Midnight. Yeah. Because she wants the money. She wanted now. Dara ain't having it. Love you Wanda. But. Yeah. Dara finna shut that down. She finna be the mom that stepped up. Or whatever. You know. She gonna be in the way. Like. Where are we going with our money? Dara came. She slapped her big oves on the table. Put them ovaries right on the table. Poof.

[00:59:46] Lady ball. Dropped them. Right there. Yep. And it's crazy too. Because. Like. In a vacuum. Like. You could understand why. Right. Like. Leon has clout. He has money. You know. He's not a bad looking guy. So. I mean. What else could she possibly want? He also kind of was on the up and up a little bit. You know. So. It even gives her a way out. If she decides that. I don't want to do this anymore. You got somebody who at least supports that. To some extent. So. Yeah. Wanda. You might have fumbled.

[01:00:17] Bad. Bad. Fumble. Like. Just. Mm. Fumble. Recovered for. Recovered for a touchdown. Like. Yeah. Not a pick six. Darcy. What? Thanks. So. Yoink. And it is. And it is Wanda's fault. You know. It is. Let me. Let me. You learn. Yeah. Now look. It was just one night. Maybe there is a world where Wanda can.

[01:00:46] Start to reel him back in. But. Leon. It is only so many times this woman going to tell you no. Before you got to. Think about you. Mm. Mm. Exactly. So. The episode ends when Lamar finally comes home. Because of course. Everybody else then got chewed out by Mama G. So it is his turn. Uh. He can hear the people bumping his music in the streets. And Mama G. Approaches Lamar and says to him. Baby.

[01:01:14] It is time for you to know the truth about your mama. And. I am thinking. You need to cuss him out. First of all. First and foremost. Everybody else then got to talk crazy to Mama G. You. I. Listen. I get it. I get it. But you got to cuss him out. He at least deserves something. Give him a little peace. Now. That said. Mart. Next episode. We are definitely getting a flashback episode. Right. Like. That is coming. Home videos or something. The whole thing. No. Well she found the film canister from Thanksgiving 1974. And so I don't know if they are going to sit him down.

[01:01:44] And show him like a tape. Or whatever. But we have to finally. This is the point. This is the time. There is no reason to belabor this anymore. You got Lamar right there. Tell us what happened. So we can all be on the same page. I think we are getting a flashback episode next. Hmm. The whole episode. With only 10 episodes in the season. I don't know. But at least we will find out. I know. I think for a fact. We will find out what happens at the very least. Yeah.

[01:02:13] And I didn't see the scenes for the next episode. Did you see the scenes for the next episode? No. I didn't actually. Yeah. Me neither. Yeah. I was watching it on a site that doesn't necessarily play. The after stuff. You know. So. There's that. Episode. Five. Is called. Homecoming. So. Do you have any predictions for what that could mean? No.

[01:02:43] No. But that. Homecoming is always reminiscing. Stuff like that. So. It definitely could be a flashback. That's for sure. Hmm. All right. Well. We shall see. When we are back next week to talk about. The drop. It's Snowfall Saga. Episode five. But. Until then. Mari. When we come back. Tell everybody what you're working on. And. Where they can find you in the meantime. Well. Over on Crime Scene.

[01:03:13] Me and Sarah Carradine. Of course. We're talking true crime. You can go to CrimeScenePod.com. To subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. That's it for. Audio only. This week. We will be covering. The Swan. Semicolon. I don't know. But it's a documentary about that. That. Mid 2000s. Reality TV show. Where all these women. Can compete for plastic surgery. And. Apparently. There's like a whole dark side. Type of thing. To that.

[01:03:43] Oh. So. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So we're going to be watching that. And we're going to be recording it live. With the. One and only. Asia Welsh. So. It's fun. If you are a member. Over. If you go to. Buymeacoffee.com. Slash. Crime Scene Pod. Then you can become a member. And you'll get access to that live recording. Where you'll get to hear us. Make all the flubs. All of the. You can also find me. Over on Blue Sky. At. Mari Talks Too Much. That's where I'm at. Big brother. Thank God. Thank you God. Thank you Lord Jesus. Yeah. So you can also catch me there. Of course. [01:05:10] G and I are wrapping up our Tyler Perry trilogy. Before getting into Abbott Elementary. And then Latonya Stark should be returning back soon. Because I think we're going to talk about Lanterns. And so. All that and more. As long as you're subscribed to the podcast. RecapKickback.com. Slash subscribe. There. Have you heard of that movie? Your Mother. Your Mother. Your Mother. No. So it's out right now. Unlimited release. Starring Mahershala Ali.

[01:05:40] It's Mahershala. A baby. Mahershala. And a sword. What? I saw. Yeah. And I saw the trailer. And it looks good. It'll be out in theaters everywhere in October. And so. I don't know. How I'm going to get to the movie theaters. To watch it or something like that. But I definitely want to cover that. In the future as well. Let us know in the comments. If there's something that you want us to talk about in the future. If anything you want us. Whether it's a classic show. A classic movie. Or something brand new. And we'll try to get that to you as well on Recap Kickback. But that's it.

[01:06:10] For Mario and for myself. You ain't got to go home. But you do have to come back next week. To talk about episode five with us. Until next time. Peace. I've been trapped by my damn self.
